43. Chapter 43

Ben 10: Alien Rebirth

Chapter 43: Ready to Rumble!

We see Ben, Gwen, Hope and Max at the top of a very large hill with blocks of ice.

Hope, "so how does this work, exactly?"

Ben, "you hop on the blocks of ice and slide down. It's basically summer time sledding."

Hope, "sounds fun."

Ben, "well, you're gonna experience it for yourself WITH us!"

Each member of the group hopped on an ice block.

Once they were all onboard, they pushed off and slid down the hill, as Ben whooped and laughed all the way.

Hope laughed and smiled as the wind blew through her hair!

Finally, the ice blocks came to a halt at the bottom.

Ben got up and brushed himself off.

Ben, "that was so cool! Let's try the bigger hill this time!"

And he pointed to a larger hill behind them.

Xylene, "the ice will probably melt by the time we get up there."

Ben looked down at the watch and smirked before hiding behind a tree and using it to turn into XLR8.

XLR8, "not with a little super speed boost!"

And he darted up the hill, ice block in hand, before setting it down at the very top.

XLR8, "pre-senting, XLR8 ON ICE!"

And he climbed onto the ice block before using his tail to push off and send himself down the hill.

Gwen rolled her eyes as Hope chuckled.

But XLR8 was going so fast, the ice starts to melt.

As XLR8 kept sliding, he ended up sailing through a picnic, grabbing a random hotdog and scarfing it down before stopping as the ice block had melted down into a puddle of water…. Right in front of a mother and her son.

The little boy, "Mommy? Why'd that thing with a tail wet itself?"

XLR8 quickly put his mask back on.

Gwen starts laughing as Hope tried not to giggle.

….

Later, inside the RustBucket….

Ben is currently using Gwen's laptop to look up what he claimed were "awesome one-liners."

Hope sat across from him, brushing her hair.

Gwen had begrudgingly let Ben use her laptop while she took a hike around their campsite while Max was checking over the RustBucket's engine with Xylenes help. They wanted to make sure the Road Crew didn't leave any lasting damage to it.

Ben, "what do you think of this one? 'How about a blast from HeatBlast?'"

Hope, "eh, that's a decent one. Why are you doing this, anyway?"

Ben, "I figure that not only can I beat up bad guys, I can at least say something clever afterwards!"

Hope simply shrugged as she finished brushing her hair.

Ben, "trust me, this'll be a game changer…."

But just as Ben started typing again, the screen suddenly went dark.

Ben went wide-eyed and muttered, "oh no…. Nonono! Damnit!"

Hope, "what happened?"

Ben, "I don't know! The screen just shut off!"

Hope, "did you try turning it off and on again?"

Ben, "yes! Ugh, what am I gonna do? Gwen will send me to another dimension with that spellbook you guys have!"

Hope, "I guess the one thing you can do is find some way to fix it. Or at least a way to get the money for it."

Ben, "hmm…. Maybe Upgrade could fix it? But then again, I don't wanna make things worse…."

Hope, "well, you might wanna think of something, since Gwen will be back soon."

Ben looked out the window and said, "yeah, you're right…. I may have to stall for time to get an idea."

….

Upon returning to the RV, Ben said, "hey, Gwen. I just had a thought. Since we went to that awesome comic book store the other day, why don't we do something you wanna do?"

Gwen, "well…. Alright."

….

A little while later….

Turns out Gwen had decided to go to poetry night at a jazz club. And Ben was starting to regret what he'd suggested.

Ben sat groaning next to Hope as Xylene, Max and Gwen were enjoying the poetry.

"Dark…. Factory…. Noise…. The smell of polish…."

Ben whispered to Hope, "the worst part is…. I still can't think of anything!"

Hope, "I'm sure you'll think of something."

As Ben's eyes wandered around, bored out of his mind, something caught his eye. A poster on the wall.

It showed the silhouettes of two figures fighting.

The poster read: Rumble-Mania! Wrestling Tournament. Win $10,000 dollar prize!

Ben, "... you know what? I just thought of something."

Hope, "I'm all ears."

Ben, "you see that poster? What if I took part in that? That way we could get enough money to fix the computer!"

Hope, "maybe I should go with you in case there's trouble?"

Ben, "well…. Alright."

And so, Ben and Hope had to wait through the rest of the poetry night, planning on sneaking out at night in order to try out this Rumble-Mania. It was a total slog, to say the least.

But eventually, the group made it back to the RustBucket, with Gwen commenting on the poetry the whole way there.

….

Some time later….

Max, Xylene and Gwen were all fast asleep.

Hope cast a spell under her breath that would make Ben and her completely silent for just long enough to sneak out.

Ben and Hope carefully snuck out of the RV with the flier in Ben's hands.

Ben, "alright…. Let's get ready to rumble…."

….

We see the young couple arriving at the place where the tournament was taking place.

A very large wrestler called, "The Immovable Object", had just defeated his opponent, and was currently gloating to the crowd, claiming how nothing could move him.

Ben smirked as he looked down at the watch and said, "wanna bet?"

Ben snuck behind a wall as Hope made her way near the ring.

The Immovable Object yelled, "is there anyone who dares to try and move the immovable?!"

"Yeah. I dare."

The Immovable Object turned to see FourArms jump into the ring with a shit eating grin.

The Immovable Object, "who are you supposed to be?"

Hope jumps onto the corner and hypes up Ben.

Hope, "introducing…. The red rumbler! The multi armed mangler! The guy who puts the U in punch! FourArms!"

FourArms cracks his knuckles and says, "what my manager said…."

The Immovable Object runs at FourArms. The alien quickly dodges the hit and punches his opponent to the ground. He then grabs him by the back of his clothes and throws him into the rings. He hits them and flies back at FourArms, who quickly pulls back two fists and punches him to the floor, knocked out.

The ref counts down to three and says, "the winner; FourArms!"

The crowd cheers as FourArms smiles widely.

Hope asks the ref as the Immovable Object is carried away, "so, where's the prize money?"

The ref, "prize money? This was an elimination round. Ya gotta beat the rest of the competition."

FourArms, "seriously? That'll take all night! We're already up late as it is!"

The ref, "talk to Mr. Grady, it's his show."

A man in a white suit, cowboy hat, bolo tie and big bushy mustache approached with a woman holding his arm approached Hope and FourArms.

This is Mr. Grady.

That's right when the Omnitrix started to blink!

FourArms, "uh oh!"

He ran off to another room.

Mr. Grady, "wait, I wanna talk to you!"

He and Hope ran into the room and saw Ben climbing out of the dumpster.

Mr. Grady, "hey, kid? You see where that big guy went?"

Ben, "er, yeah, he had to go take care of something real quick."

Hope, "but don't worry, he'll be back…. In fact, we're his managers. Hope C and Benjamin T, at your service."

Mr. Grady chuckled, "dirty business, ain't it? H. E. Grady. Event promoter."

He handed Ben a card.

Mr. Grady, "man, your wrestler's got headliner written all over him! Where'd you find him?"

Ben, "he just, uh, came outta nowhere one night…."

….

A bell rings as another match begins.

FourArms is able to take down a wrestler with a crab-like arm in a matter of minutes.

….

During another match, a large wrestler resembling a bi-pedal alligator named Gator-Boy is able to make short work of a wrestler with only one eye; even throwing him into a table!

During the same match, a wrestler known as Porcupine, namely due to his quill-like hair, pointed ears, animal-like nose and claws, also makes short work of a normal human wrestler with his quills.

The ref, "the winners of this match, Porcupine and Gator-Boy!"

Ben and Hope watched from the sidelines.

Ben, "being them on…."

….

We see the next match beginning as FourArms and Porcupine stare each other down.

The ref, "let's get this party started!"

The opponents run at each other. FourArms punches Porcupine across the ring, but he flies back at him, spinning like Sonic the hedgehog! He hits FourArms and then jumps onto his back!

FourArms, "but mistake, spikey!"

FourArms does a flip, landing on top of Porcupine. He jumps away. As Porcupine tried to get up, he found himself stuck to the floor!

The ref counts down to three, naming FourArms as the winner! The alien soaks in the cheering as Hope claps and cheers for her boyfriend.

….

We later see Ben and Hope in a back room area. Ben is eating some chicken wings as Hope drinks a bottle of water.

Ben, "this is sweet! I could get used to this."

Hope, "yeah. This is kind of fun. And we're actually doing it for a good cause. Fixing Gwen's laptop!"

Ben, "and we'll still have some money to spare for important stuff."

But then, Gator-Boy and Porcupine enter the room, looking super pissed off.

Ben glanced down at the watch. It was still outta power.

Ben whispered, "damnit!"

Gator-Boy growled, "where's FourArms?"

Hope, "er, sorry, Mr. FourArms isn't giving autographs right now…. Hehe…. Bad joke, sorry."

Gator-Boy, "you kids got big mouths…. But so do I!"

He lunges at the kids, but he's clearly not going for a killing blow. Ben and Hope run off as Porcupine yells, "what're you doing?! They're just kids!"

Gator-Boy, "I wasn't really gonna hurt them. Think. Those kids manage the guy who kicked your butt in the ring. Maybe if we scare them off, FourArms will take a dive…."

….

Gator-Boy starts searching a shower room as Ben and Hope run down a hall…. Right into Porcupine. He shoots some quills at the ground to scare them as Gator-Boy crashes through the wall. The two kids are cornered. Gator-Boy snaps his jaws, making the two run off. The two wrestlers smirk at each other.

….

Later, the two mutant wrestlers meet up with some gangsters.

One says, "looky here, the circus came to town."

Porcupine, "what do you want?!"

The gangster says, "Mr. Beck wants to make sure you know what happens if you don't win…."

Porcupine, "that prize money is as good as ours, don't worry!"

The gangster says, "oh, I'm not worried. But you should be, if you disappoint Mr. Beck!"

….

"Ladies and gentlemen! This championship match is scheduled for one fall! Winner takes all! For the ten thousand dollar grand prize! Introducing; Gator-Boy!"

Gator-Boy makes a grand entrance into the ring, complete with purple smoke in the air!

"And his opponent! The one! The only! FourArms!"

FourArms jumps into the ring and gives four peace signs to the crowd!

The two opponents stare each other down.

FourArms, "you're a real tough guy when you're chasing after kids…. Let's see how you deal with me…."

Gator-Boy, "I'm gonna drop you like a sack of dirt."

The ref, "go to your corners and fight at the bell!"

The wrestlers do that.

Hope stands at FourArms' corner and whispers, "go get him, tiger."

FourArms smiled at Hope.

That's right when the bell rang!

FourArms and Gator-Boy ran at one another and started grappling! FourArms tossed Gator-Boy into the rings of the rings, and tried to pin him down!

Gator-Boy, "I can't lose! I've got too much riding on this!"

The alligator wrestler managed to jump up and grabbed our alien hero from behind! FourArms managed to get free and started spinning his opponent around as if he were made of rope! Gator-Boy managed to get free and tossed FourArms near one of the corners. He ran at his opponent, but the alien was too quick and jumped out of the way, making Gator-Boy run head-first into the pole in the corner. He fell to the ground in a daze.

But that's right when Porcupine shot a quill into FourArms'FourArms shoulder!

FourArms yelled as he pulled the quill out, "ow! Hey! Two against one? Not fair!"

The ref, "oh, like having four arms is fair? Just fight!"

FourArms then ends up in a daze and starts to fall to the ground.

Mr. Grady laughs from his seat, "don't ya just love show business?"

Porcupine and Gator-Boy find FourArms onto his back and pin him down.

Hope then suddenly got an idea. She jumped into the ring and used one of her stone creatures to create a suit of stone!

Hope, "let's see if the Charmcaster can't make this a fair fight?"

The ref is about to count down to three, when FourArms gets his second wind! Hope grabs Porcupine and flings him across the ring as FourArms throws Gator-Boy off of him! The couple work together and bounce themselves off of the rings to knock down and pin the two opponents!

The ref counts down to three!

FourArms and Hope's arms are lifted up as the ref declares, "the winners and champions!"

The watch begins to blink!

FourArms, "gotta go! Give my check to the managers!"

FourArms runs off as Hope says, "that'd be me and my partner, who is, um, having and time with those chicken wings he ate! Yeah, that's it…."

….

Mr. Grady hands the check over to Ben and Hope and says, "good show! Especially with you gettin' involved, little missy. Kinda wish your boy had stuck around."

Ben, "yeah, well, he's a little shy about that kind of stuff…."

Ben and Hope walk off to the side of the building with their check.

Ben, "this is great. After we get Gwen a new laptop, their best kind, what say we go out for some more wings?"

Hope, "you had me at wings."

"What're we going to do?!"

Ben and Hope turned the corner to see Porcupine and Gator-Boy standing at a corner as a car pulled up.

The gangster says, "so you're freaks AND losers. Good combo."

Gator-Boy, "please, give us another chance. We'll get your money. Just please; don't hurt our mama."

Ben whispered, "'hurt our mama?'"

The gangster, "you knew what would happen if you didn't win. The boss is gonna turn her into an end-table!"

Gator-Boy and Porcupine gave horrified looks.

The car drives off with mud on the tires.

Ben and Hope walk over.

Porcupine, "what do you two want?"

Hope, "we heard what that guy said."

Gator-Boy, "we got mixed up with some gangsters and…. We owe them money. If we don't give it to them, they're gonna kick us off our farm. They're holding our mom as collateral. But since we lost the prize money, who knows what they're gonna do to her."

Porcupine, "you got a big mouth, you know that Jason?"

Gator-Boy, or rather, Jason, "shut up, Bradley!"

Ben, "maybe we could help? FourArms would be able to lend some hands."

Porcupine, or rather, Bradley, "we don't even know where they're holding her. She could be anywhere!"

Ben and Hope then noticed the mud from the car.

Hope said, "that said they'd turn her into an end table…. Is there a lumber mill or something around here?"

….

We see the four walking into an old lumber mill under the cover of darkness.

Ben, "he'll be here. He likes to make a grand entrance….", he looks down at the watch, "I hope."

The lights suddenly turned on as several gangsters came out wielding pipes and chains.

An old man in a red shirt and black suit 'N' tie showed up, using a cane. This is Mr. Beck.

Mr. Beck, "looking for someone? What a disappointment you two turned out to be. You were supposed to get the money!"

Ben, "they did!"

Hope handed Mr. Beck the check.

Hope, "now let her go!"

Mr. Beck, "well, ain't this a pleasant surprise…. And I've got one of my own."

He pressed a button to reveal Jason and Bradley's mom tied to a log near a saw. And she looked…. Like a completely normal housewife in glasses, a purple skirt and pink sweater.

Bradley, "Mama!"

Ben, "wait, that's your mom?"

Hope, "how the Hell does a woman have a porcupine and alligator for sons?"

Jason, "dad was part of a freakshow. Had a gator tail, porcupine quills, snake eyes and gorilla arms. Mama said we take after him…."

Mrs. Fang scolded, "what did I tell you boys about getting caught up with the wrong folks?"

Jason and Bradley, "yes mama…."

Mr. Beck, "you didn't really think I was gonna let all these witnesses live, do you?"

Mr. Beck pressed a button that began to activate the saw! He broke the remote as Mrs. Fang started slowly moving towards the saws!

Mr. Beck, "finish 'em off!"

Mr. Beck leaves and the gangsters begin to attack the four.

Jason makes short work of these before one wraps a chain around his mouth and four others try to tackle him. Bradley starts fighting off another henchmen, knocking him down before he gets some chains wrapped around his legs!

Ben wields a pipe against another gangster as Hope uses a spell to make one fly into a wall, knocking them out!

Ben is sent into a wall. He groaned before looking down at the watch. It was finally ready to rumble!

Ben, "let's see if I can't call in the champ…."

Ben slams down, but instead of FourArms…. He turns into Ditto!

Bradley, "who're you? Where's FourArms?"

Hope, "Ben IS FourArms. And a few other guys."

Ditto, "yeah, but who needs FourArms…."

The Splixson splits into four clones!

Ditto 2, "when you can have eight of 'em?"

The four run off with Hope towards the saw. Two Ditto's tackle two gangsters and knock them out before all four clones and Hope make it to Mrs. Fang. They desperately pull at her ropes.

As they draw closer, Ditto 4 yells, "all hands on deck!"

They form into 9 clones, with Hope making the group an even ten.

Mrs. Fang, "hurry!"

Finally, they manage to tear the wires, allowing them to get Mrs. Fang off the log and safely onto the ground.

Jason managed to get free of the gangsters attacking him and cut his brother's chains.

Mr. Beck appeared from the shadows, "ugh! It's so hard to find good help these days…. I'll have to do this shit myself!"

Ditto 6, "not if we can help it!"

The Ditto's try to tackle Mr. Beck, but he's able to throw them all off!

Ditto 2, "he's too big!'

Ditto 3, "we need to use his size against him, like in wrestling!"

Ditto 7 and 8, "tag team him!"

The Ditto's scatter.

Ditto 1 runs up to Mr. Beck and blows a raspberry. Mr. Beck gives chase towards Ditto 2 and some logs.

Ditto 1, "now!"

Ditto 2 sends the logs at Mr. Beck, who desperately tried to run along them until Dito 2 and 3 sent a log flying at him on a chain. This sent him flying into a wheelbarrow manned by Ditto 4. He wheels him around before flinging him over to Ditto 5, who holds a vacuum of some kind.

Ditto 5, "another one bites the sawdust!"

He sends sawdust into Mr. Beck's face, making him stagger back before Ditto 6 gets down on his hands and knees and trips him onto his back!

Ditto 7 is in the rafters and jumps onto Mr. Beck, knocking him down for the count.

Ditto 8, "ref?"

Hope, "one, two, three, he's out!"

Ditto 9 raised Ditto 7's hand and yelled, "the winners and still champions!"

Bradley and Jason approached with appreciative smiles.

….

Mr. Beck and his goons are arrested by the cops early the next morning as Ben and Hope stand with the small mutant family.

Jason, "those wrestlers your boyfriend turns into are amazing! How many do you manage?"

Hope, "22 and counting."

Bradley, "woah. That's a lot."

Bradley and Jason hugged their mom as the latter said, "we're sorry mama. We didn't mean to get involved with those guys. We thought we were doing the right thing."

Bradley, "and now we still don't have the money to save our farm. We still need ten thousand."

Mrs. Fang, "well, at least you boys fessed up and took responsibility for your actions."

Ben and Hope glanced at one another before Ben took out the check.

Ben, "here."

Jason took the check and looked at it.

Jason, "the prize money? But, you guys won it. Fair and square. We can't take this."

Hope, "you need it more than we do."

Bradley, "I dunno what to say. Noone's ever been this nice to us. Thanks!"

He gave Hope and Ben a hug.

Hope, "ouch!"

Ben, "we had to make friends with a porcupine…."

As the hug ended, Ben handed Jason and Bradley some cards and said, "that's my home address. Stop by if you're ever in Bellwood."

The brothers nodded as they left with their mom….

….

At the RustBucket….

Max is doing the dishes as Xylene is reading and Gwen is sitting near her laptop.

Ben and Hope enter.

Max, "morning you two. You're up early?"

Ben, "not exactly. I've got a confession to make."

Gwen looked at her cousin, she had her glasses on.

Ben took a deep breath, "I broke your laptop but didn't tell you and tried to get the money to fix it by fighting a bunch of bad guys, but the bad guys weren't actually bad guys and I gave them the prize money so they could save their home and…. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you."

Gwen, "so, you think you broke my computer?"

Ben, "yeah, I'm so- wait, think?"

Gwen turned on her laptop easily.

Gwen, "I just got a fingerprint scanner for it. So only I can use it. You didn't break it. But, thanks for telling me Ben. Glad to see you're being more responsible."

Everyone chuckled as Ben gave an embarrassed look.

….

We once again see Driscoll with his growing team as Phil and Dr. Viktor work the portal they had been building. It crackles to life with swirls of red and yellow.

They were waiting for a specific someone to come out of the portal.

And that's when they saw it.

A human hand clawed itself out of the portal, and after a few minutes, a small form flew out of the portal.

As they manage to stand up, we see who it is.

Kevin!

Somehow, he's back in his human form!

But upon seeing the people around him, Kevin steps back and clenches his fists, and looks to be concentrating before his body changes back into the monstrous form we've grown accustomed to!

He growled, "who the Hell are all of you!?"

Driscoll, "relax, child, we are friends."

Kevin, "yeah? Well most friends I make either betray me, or get killed by maniacs. How do I know you're telling the truth?"

Driscoll, "because we all have a common enemy."

Kevin, "that being?"

They all said, "Ben Tennyson."

Kevin grew interested upon hearing this.

He asked, "you wanna kill Ben?"

Driscill, "yes. And with all of us working together, we can not only do that, but get our hands upon a power source that would make us unstoppable! So…. What do you say, Kevin Eleven?"

Kevin simply grinned and asked, "when do I start?"

Syncrosoul: the Rooters arc will go like this: absolutely no retconning Kevin and the Plumbers Kids. Instead, Servantis will be a former Plumber trapped in the Null Void, who for years has been planning his revenge. And when he learns about Kevin, Swift, Manny, Helen and Alan, he captures and mind controls them in order to go after Ben. Hope will live probably at Max's house with Xylene and Max looking after her. Hex will get his redemption during Alien Force, namely the Aggregor arc. And Ledger Domain will be very different from classic with how it goes. When the team first goes there with Hex helping them, Spellbinder is still alive, guarding the Alpha Rune. There will be no Adwata. Spellbinder will be killed by Aggregor, and Hex stays behind to keep Ledger Domain from falling apart. I plan to completely cut the episode where Charmcaster killed a bunch of people to resurrect her dad. Since she's a hero in this story, it would make no sense to include it.

shriramasokan: I already put the Galactic Enforcers into this story. Osmosians and Anodites won't become important until Alien Force. Please don't yell and demand stuff.

kashriramji: Antidotes won't become important until Alien Force. Please don't yell. Spellbinder doesn't appear until ULTIMATE ALIEN. Please stop asking me to put certain characters in before they're supposed to!

Guest: Chamalien will get way more screen time alongside the other aliens introduced in Ultimate. Clockwork, Eatle, JurryRigg, etc. I thought of introducing Slapback, Bashmouth, Spitter, maybe a completely reworked Surge that doesn't look like an X, and a few other new aliens as well. That includes some Ultimates. I might make an OC alien for Overkill.

Chroma Chill: Awesome name. Ken will know about Lumi's origins. Squidstrictor and Rocks, (who will be renamed), will be new aliens in Omniverse to replace one's like Mole-Stache and Walkatrout. There won't really be a Ben Prime in this story.

Just another episode I wanted to keep in. Having Hope and Ben as a tag team duo was fun to write.

And thus, Driscoll now has the entire Negative Ten put together!

And just a heads up, I've decided to include The Wurst in Ben's roster in the future, but he'll be MUCH different. He'll still be short and pudgy, but his power will be that he's indestructible to almost anything. So he'll ACTUALLY be useful in certain situations.

The love interests for Ken in Scooby Doo: Mysteries Incorporated will be; ALL THREE HEX GIRLS, at 9 votes! 14 if you count the votes for Lena Dupree and the Hex Girls. Maybe if enough people ask for her to join the relationship, I'll add her in. She is gonna get a redemption arc regardless though.
