Hey everyone, chipsandfish2 here with another chapter of "Dragons and Magic and Adventures, oh my!".
I don't have much to say except sorry for the long wait.
Without further ado, let's get right into the chapter.
Disclaimer: I don't own Frozen or HTTYD.
Chapter 7: To the North Mountain we go!
Elsa ran down the halls in a panic. Of all the days for her powers to be revealed, it had to be the one day where all the attention was on her.
As she forced the door open, she was greeted by the citizens of her kingdom.
"There she is!" a random person shouted out.
Elsa looked behind her, knowing that the others would soon catch up. She hurried down the steps and tried to flee, only to be blocked by the crowd.
"Your majesty." A man said.
She tried to push past the crowd, only to be stopped once again.
"Your majesty, are you alright?" A concerned mother holding a toddler asked.
Backing up in fear, Elsa accidentally bumped into a fountain.
She put her ungloved hand on it, causing the fountain to freeze and arch into a scary position.
The crowd looked in surprise at what just happened.
"There she is. Stop her." The Duke of Westleton shouted.
"Please, just stay away from me. Stay away." Elsa shouted, only to accidentally release ice from her hand, almost hitting the Duke and his henchmen.
Regaining his bearings, the Duke pointed at Elsa.
"Monster. MONSTER!"
Elsa looked at the crowd. They were all backing away from her in fear.
Taking advantage of the situation, she took off. The citizens clearing a path to avoid her.
"Elsa!"
Anna came running through the door. Hans and Hiccup not far behind.
She saw her sister running through the crowd and proceeded to chase after her.
Elsa arrived at the fjord reaching a dead end.
She heard Anna calling out for her. Backing up towards the lake, she noticed the water freezing over.
"Wait, please." Anna called out as she, Hans, and Hiccup came into view.
Elsa looked back at her sister, then back at the frozen water.
She stepped onto it and it was able to support her weight.
So she started running, each step she took freezing the water as she ran across the fjord and into the forest.
"Elsa, stop!" Anna tried running forward, only to slip on the ice and fall to her knees.
"Anna." Hans said as he helped her up.
"No." All Anna could do was watch as her sister disappeared into the forest.
As they watched Elsa disappear. Hiccup noticed something.
"The fjord."
The new couple looked around to see the entire fjord being frozen over. With snow starting to fall from the sky.
As they made there way through the crowd, who were mumbling in confusion, Hans spoke to Anna.
"Are you all right?"
"No."
"Did you know?"
"No."
The trio made their way to the Duke who was freaking out.
"Look, it's snowing. It's snowing! The queen has cursed this land! She must be stopped."
He grabbed the ears of one of his henchmen.
"You have to go after her."
"What? No!" Anna stated
"You!" the Duke snarled as he hid behind his men. "Is there sorcery in you too? Are you a monster too?"
"No, no. I'm completely ordinary." Anna countered.
"That's right. She is." Hans said, making Anna give him a look. "In the best way."
"And my sister is not a monster." Anna continued.
"She nearly killed me!" The Duke rebutted.
"You slipped on ice." Hiccup countered.
"Her ice!" The Duke countered. "And what about you? You're just as much of a monster as that witch. What, with you and those beasts flying around the kingdom."
Now that made Hiccup angry behind his helmet. He pulled out a sword hilt. He pressed a button and a blade popped out. Suddenly the blade caught fire.
This was inferno, a fire sword that Hiccup made himself.
"You wanna say that again old man?" he said in a pissed off tone.
The duke backed up in shock and fear, as did some of the townsfolk. His bodyguards quickly got in front.
Before any physical confrontation could occur, Anna quickly intervened.
"That's enough!" She shouted. "Violence isn't going to help with our situation. And my sister didn't mean to do this. She was scared. She didn't mean it. She didn't mean any of this. Tonight was my fault. I pushed her. So, I'm the one who has to go after her."
"What?" Hans asked, surprised.
"Yes." The Duke instantly agreed.
"Bring me my horse." She called out to her guards.
"Anna, no. Elsa's too dangerous." Hans said.
Anna gave him a smile. "Elsa's not dangerous."
"Be that as it may princess," they turned to Hiccup, "You won't make it very far on a horse at the rate this snow is falling."
"Then you what do you suggest we do?" She noticed his shoulder was missing something. "And where's Sharpshot?"
Hiccup smiled behind his helmet. "When Elsa revealed her powers, I had a feeling something was going to happen, so I sent him to get some backup."
Two roars were heard from above. Everyone looked up and saw Toothless and Sleuther gliding down.
Hiccup built a tail that would allow Toothless to solo glide in case he a Hiccup were separated. (Like in HTTYD 2)
The townspeople backed up, allowing the dragons to land.
"It would be much easier and faster to search from the skies." Hiccup said.
"But Hiccup," Anna said nervously, "We both know I've never rode a dragon before. Plus, isn't your friend here apprehensive about strangers coming near him?"
Hiccup looked at Sleuther, then back at Anna.
"Normally that would be the case, but Sleuther was oddly calm around you this morning, so it should be okay."
"I'll come with you two." Hans said, but Anna declined.
"No, I need you look after Arendelle in my absence." She said as Kai brought her a cloak, which she put on.
Hiccup guided her over to Sleuther who laid down, allowing Anna to climb on top. Once she had a firm yet gentle grip on his horns, he stood up.
"I leave Prince Hans in charge." She called out.
Hans went up to her. "Are you sure you can trust her? I don't want you getting hurt."
Anna smiled at him. "She's my sister. She would never hurt me."
"Ready, your majesty?" Hiccup called out.
She nodded and Hiccup turned to Toothless.
"Let's go, bud."
Toothless got off to a running start and took off, followed by Sleuther and a now frightened princess who tightened her grip for the sudden take off.
(I'm skipping Elsa's song because it's basically the same as the movie. Also, how on Earth did she make it to the North Mountains in such a short amount of time and also outrun Anna's horse?)
As the group of 4 were flying through the air, Anna was shivering uncontrollably.
Hiccup noticed this and had Toothless move closer.
"You okay?"
"I w-w-wasn't expecting it to be so c-c-cold up here." She replied.
"Well, no offence, but your ensemble isn't exactly suited for cold weather."
"N-N-No kidding, we should turn b-b-back so I can get something warmer."
Hiccup was thinking about it when he saw chimney smoke from a distance.
"Actually, there's no need." He said pointing to the smoke. "I'd recognize that structure anywhere."
As he, Anna, and the dragons made their way over, Toothless started to have trouble flying.
"What's wrong, bud?" Hiccup asked. He looked behind him and saw that the artificial tailfin was frozen shut.
"Oh that isn't good."
The duo suddenly started plummeting. Thankfully, the snow cushioned their fall.
Anna and Sleuther quickly headed down.
"Are you two okay?"
"Yep. We're fine. Right bud?" Hiccup said, looking at Toothless who grumbled while shaking the snow off his head.
He looked ahead. "Thankfully, Wandering Oaken's Trading Post is right down there, so we can afford to walk the rest of the way."
Anna looked herself to see how close it was when she suddenly slipped and sled down the hill, her cloak getting snagged on a branch on the way down.
Thankfully, she was able to stop herself from falling into a small river just a couple feet from her.
As she got up and brushed the snow off of herself, she heard a screeching behind her.
Looking behind her, all she saw was a black dragon sliding right towards her before knocking her into the river.
Hiccup also made his way down, but more carefully. While Sleuther just flew down.
Anna, now shivering uncontrollably, climbed out of the river and waddled as fast as she could over to the building, her dress freezing solid along the way.
Finally arriving at the trading post, Anna hit the sign to remove the snow while Hiccup put the dragons in a nearby barn.
"Wandering Oaken's Trading Post." Snow fell from the smaller sign. "Oh, and Sauna."
As she went inside, she looked around before hearing a "Yoo-Hoo" to her left. She looked and saw Wandering Oaken sitting at the register.
"Big summer blowout. Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm off my own invention, yah?"
Anna looked at him for a second before responding.
"Oh. Great. For now, um how about boots? Winter boots and dresses?"
"That would be in our winter department." Oaken replied, gesturing over to the winter department, with very little stock.
As she went over, Hiccup entered. "Evening Oaken. How's business?" He asked as he removed his helmet.
"Very good, Hiccup. My winter department is almost completely sold out."
As Anna grabbed what she needed, she decided to speak up. "Um, I was just wondering. Has another young woman… The queen perhaps, I don't know, passed through here?"
"The only ones crazy enough to be out in this storm are you two, dear."
The door opens and in walks Kristoff, covered head to toe in snow.
"You two and this fellow. Yoo-Hoo. Big summer blowout."
"Hey Kristoff."
"Hey Hiccup."
He walked over to where Anna was and she back up a bit.
"Carrots."
"Huh?" Anna asked.
He leaned in closer. "Behind you."
Anna saw the carrots behind her and move out of the way "Excuse me. Sorry."
As he threw the carros on the counter, went over to the winter department to get a pickaxe and some rope.
"Oh, a real howler in July, yes? Where ever could it be coming from?" Oaken asks.
"The North Mountain." Kristoff said as he put the items on the counter.
"North Mountain?" Anna says quietly.
"That'll be forty." Oaken says.
"Forty? No, ten." Kristoff argues at the high price.
"Oh dear, that's no good. See this is from our winter stock, where supply and demand have a big problem." Oaken informs him.
"You wanna talk about a supply and demand problem? I sell ice for a living." Kristoff gestures out to his ice sled.
"Ooh, that's a rough business to be in right now. I mean, that is really…" [Kristoff gives Anna a cold look] Ahem...that's unfortunate."
"Still forty. But I will throw in a visit to Oaken's sauna." He looks over to the sauna and waves. "Hoo-hoo! Hi, family."
"Hoo-hoo!" His family replies back.
Anna and Hiccup wave back.
"Ten's all I got. Help me out." Kristoff said.
"Okay." Oaken moves the carrots forward. "Ten will get you this and no more."
"Okay, just tell me one thing." Anna says. "What was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem magical?"
Kristoff pulls down the scarf on his face and looks at Anna] "Yes! Now, back up while I deal with this crook here.
Oaken, feeling offended, stands revealing his very tall stature.
"What did you call me?"
Hiccup, seeing Oaken was about to get violent, quickly intervened.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay guys, let's just take it easy. First, Kristoff, apologize to Oaken."
Kristoff, who was definitely intimidated by Oaken's size, quickly nodded his head.
"I'm sorry for calling you a crook."
Oaken sat back down, still looking at Kristoff with a hurt look.
"Now then." Hiccup continued. "Oaken. Nice cold refreshments are usually sold with ice after being in your sauna, right?"
Oaken nodded his head.
"Okay, so here's what I'm thinking. Kristoff pays 10 for the carrots. As for the rope and pickaxe, he trades with you 2 blocks of ice, 3 if necessary."
Oaken pondered it for a moment. "I am running low on ice. Very well then."
After business was done, the trio exited the cabin, with Anna in her new winter outfit.
"Thanks, Hiccup. I owe you one." Kristoff said.
"No problem, that's what friends are for." Hiccup said as Sven came over, excited for his carrots.
Anna thought for a moment before she got an idea.
"Actually, we need a favor from you."
Kristoff, Sven, and Hiccup looked at her.
However, none of them noticed a certain snowman enter Wandering Oaken's.
(Scene change)
After checking on the dragons and Hiccup informing them of their new plan while Toothless' tail thaws out, Kristoff takes Anna and Hiccup in his sled, pulled by Sven, as they head towards the North Mountain.
"Hang on! We like to go fast." Kristoff informed them.
"I like fast!" Anna said as she put her feet up on te sled's dash.
"Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa! Get your feet down. This is fresh lacquer. Seriously, were you raised in a barn?" Kristoff said as he spits the on dash to clean it, some of his spit hitting Anna in the face.
"Ew! No, I was raised in a castle." Anna said as she wiped the spit off.
"So uh...tell me, what made the Queen go all ice-crazy?" Kristoff asked.
"Oh well, it was all my fault. I...I got engaged, but then she freaked out because I'd only just met him, you know, that day. And she said she wouldn't bless the marriage, and…"
"Wait. You got engaged to someone you just met that day?" Kristoff interrupted.
"Yeah. Anyway, I got mad and so she got mad and then she tried to walk away, and I grabbed her glove…"
"Hang on! You mean to tell me you got engaged to someone you just met that day?!" He asked again.
He turned to Hiccup. "Are you hearing this?"
"I was more focused on the number of siblings her "Fiance" had." Hiccup said.
"Pay attention. But the thing is she wore the gloves all the time, so I just thought, maybe she has a thing about dirt."
"Didn't your parents ever warn you about strangers?" he asked as she looks at him and slides away.
"Yes, they did. But Hans is not a stranger."
"Oh yeah? What's his last name?"
"Of-the-Southern-Isles?"
"What's his favorite food?"
"Sandwiches."
"Best friend's name?"
"Probably John."
"Eye color?"
"Dreamy."
"Foot size?"
"Foot size doesn't matter."
"Have you had a meal with him yet? What if you hate the way he eats? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?"
"Picks his nose?"
"And eats it."
Anna looks at him, offended. "Excuse me, sir. He is a prince."
Kristoff just looked at her. "All men do it."
"Not me." countered Hiccup.
"Ew! Look, it doesn't matter, it's true love!" Anna countered.
"Doesn't sound like true love." Kristoff denied.
"Are you some sort of love expert?"
"No. But I have friends who are." Kristoff said.
"You have friends who are love experts?" Anna asked. "I'm not buying it."
"Stop talking." Kristoff said as he stopped the sled.
"No, no, no. No, no, no. I'd like to meet these…"
Kristoff puts his hand over Anna's mouth. "No, I mean it."
Anna shoves his hand away from her mouth and goes to say something, but is shushed as he Hiccup, and Sven look around their surroundings in alarm.
"Sshhh!" Shushed Kristoff
Hiccup looks behind them a sees multiple shadowy silhouettes.
"Uh, Kristoff." He says, getting the others attention.
Kristoff squints and notices a pack of wolves approaching them from behind.
"Sven, go. Go!" he says as Sven takes off.
"What are they?" Anna asks.
"Wolves."
"Wolves?" Anna asks, now scared for her life. "What do we do?"
"We got this. Just don't fall off and don't get eaten." Kristoff says he lights a torch and Hiccups ignites inferno.
"But I wanna help!" Anna insisted.
"No!"
"Why not?" Anna asks.
"Because I don't trust your judgment."
"Excuse me?!"
"Who marries a man she just met?"
"It's true love!" she says as she grabs his guitar and hits a wolf that was about to grab him.
Suddenly one of the wolves grabs Kristoff and yanks him off the sled.
"Christopher!/Kristoff!" Anna and Hiccup yell.
Kristoff grabs the loose rope hanging from the back of the and gets dragged behind.
"It's Kristoff!" he yells at Anna.
Two of the wolves start attacking Kristoff, Anna uses the torch to fire a blanket and throws it at the wolves.
"Duck!" She throws the burning blanket at the wolves and hits them, forcing them to release Kristoff.
Kristoff pulls himself back onto the sled crawling up the rope with the help of Hiccup.
"You almost set me on fire!" He shouted.
"But I didn't."
Sven notices a cliff ahead of them and calls to the others, drawing the others attention.
"Get ready to jump, Sven!" Anna says.
"You don't tell him what to do!" Kristoff shoves a satchel into her arms and picks her up and throws Anna onto Sven's back. "I do. Jump, Sven!"
He cuts the harness to the sled just as Sven jumps and lands with Anna on the other side.
Hiccup throws on his helmet and also jumps and pulls out his wing suit that he made a couple years ago and glides across, landing safely on the other side.
Kristoff jumps from the sled and lands on the cliffside barely holding on. He looks at the wolves who stopped chasing them and then looks down and sees his sled burst into flames as it hits the ground.
"Ooh. But I just paid it off." He whines.
Suddenly he starts to slip off the edge. Just as he's about to fall, a pickaxe, tied to a rope, comes flying over to him and lands in the snow right in front of him.
"Grab on!" Anna calls out.
Kristoff quickly grabs the pickaxe.
"Pull, Sven! Pull!" she says as she, Sven and Hiccup pulled with all of their might.
They pull Kristoff up and he rolls onto his back exhausted. Anna looks down the cliff at the burning sled.
"I'll replace your sled and everything in it. And I understand if you don't wanna help us anymore."
"I'm really sorry man." Hiccups says, also feeling guily as he and Anna walk start walking off.
Sven nudges Kristoff.
"Of course I don't wanna help her anymore. In fact, this whole thing has ruined me for helping anyone ever again."
"But they'll die on her own!" He says as Sven.
"I can live with that."
"But you won't get your new sled if they're dead." "Sven" counters.
Kristoff looks at him with a deadpanned look.
"You know sometimes I really don't like you. Hold up! We're coming. He calls out to Anna and Hiccup.
Sven licks Kristoff's face in approval Anna stops and turns.
"You are?! I mean, sure. I'll let you tag along." she says as Hiccup chuckles.
Sven runs off to catch up with Anna, Kristoff smiles then gets up to join them.
Now the new party of four start making their way towards the North Mountain.
Meanwhile.
"I'm Olaf. And I like warm hugs."
And that's a wrap!
In case you haven't figured it out, Sleuther is going to be Anna's dragon. What about Elsa and Kristoff you may ask. Well, you'll just have to wait and find out in later chapters.
Anyways, I start college again next week and I'm super excited. I'm also excited because from what I've heard, Demon Slayer: The Hashira Training Arc is coming to theaters sometime in February. I don't know if that's true, but I really hope it is.
Anyways, Be sure to leave a review and PM if you have any questions.
And remember, any reviews that involve asking me to update or when the next chapter will be will be automatically ignored.
I want actual reviews, please.
Until next time.
See ya! Probably wanna be ya!
