Chapter 7: A New Power Rises
The horizon of Planet Namek was painted in hues of green and blue, but the calm belied the storm brewing overhead. Cell hovered in the skies, his arms crossed, his tail flicking lazily as he stared down at the mighty flagship of Cooler, which loomed over the surface like a metallic predator. Below him, remnants of Cooler's forces scurried in disarray after their assault on the Namekian villages.
Cell's smirk widened as he descended, landing gracefully near a clearing outside the flagship. His crimson eyes glinted with malice. "Cooler," he muttered to himself, rolling the name over his tongue. "This must be another of King Cold's brood. Frieza's kin, no doubt. Pathetic, arrogant fools who believe they're the center of the universe."
He strode toward the flagship's entrance, unbothered by the soldiers who lined up in defense, their scouters frantically blinking as they registered his immense power level. Cell didn't even look at them as he continued walking. His presence alone made the soldiers freeze, unsure whether to attack or flee.
"Summon your master," Cell ordered, his tone calm but commanding. "I have business with him."
One of the soldiers stammered, stepping forward hesitantly. "L-Lord Cooler doesn't see anyone without a reason."
Cell's smirk twisted into a cruel grin. "I'll give him one."
Without warning, Cell's tail lashed out, impaling the soldier through the chest. The man's scream was cut short as Cell absorbed him, his energy rising ever so slightly. The remaining soldiers trembled as Cell glanced at them. "Now then, would anyone else like to make me wait?"
Before they could respond, a booming voice echoed from the ship. "Enough."
The metallic doors slid open, and Cooler emerged, his armored form radiating authority. His purple skin gleamed under the sunlight, and his piercing red eyes locked onto Cell with curiosity and disdain.
"Who dares interrupt my operations?" Cooler demanded, his voice sharp and regal. "Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?"
Cell's grin widened as he stepped forward, his hands clasped behind his back. "I might ask you the same question. Let me guess—you're the elder brother? Another relic of the Cold Empire?"
Cooler's gaze narrowed. "Ah, I see you know of my family. Then you must also know that my power far surpasses that of my pathetic brother, Frieza."
Cell chuckled, his tail flicking behind him. "I've seen what your family is capable of. Frieza thought he was invincible, and look where that got him—dead on a planet of insects. Tell me, Cooler, are you any different?"
Cooler's aura flared, the air around him crackling with energy. "You're either bold or foolish to provoke me. It seems I'll have to teach you the same lesson I taught the others who defied me."
Cell tilted his head, his grin unfaltering. "Then by all means… teach me."
The Fight Begins
Cooler's speed was staggering. In an instant, he was upon Cell, his fist colliding with Cell's face with enough force to create a shockwave that rippled across the landscape. Cell slid backward, his feet digging into the ground, but his grin never wavered.
"Not bad," Cell admitted, wiping a trickle of green fluid from his lip. "You're faster than your brother. But speed means nothing without strategy."
Cooler snarled and launched into another assault, his blows coming in rapid succession. The sky erupted with flashes of light as the two combatants clashed, their movements a blur to anyone watching. Cooler's strikes were precise and brutal, but Cell dodged and deflected them with an almost casual ease.
"You're holding back," Cell taunted, dodging a powerful kick that left a crater in the ground. "Why? Afraid to show me your true power?"
Cooler smirked. "You're not worth the effort."
Cell laughed, his voice echoing across the battlefield. "How predictable. Frieza said the same thing before he was cut down like the fool he was. But don't worry—I won't give you the chance to regret underestimating me."
With a burst of speed, Cell counterattacked, his punches landing with bone-crushing force. Cooler grunted as each blow connected, the ground beneath them trembling from the sheer power of the exchange.
Cooler's Downfall
Cooler growled in frustration, his aura surging as he leapt back. "You've proven yourself strong," he admitted, his tone grudging. "But you haven't seen anything yet. Prepare yourself—I'll show you my true form!"
As Cooler began to power up, Cell's smirk vanished, replaced by a cold, calculating glare. "No," he said simply. "You won't."
Before Cooler could complete his transformation, Cell struck with blinding speed. His tail pierced Cooler's chest, cutting off his energy surge. Cooler's eyes widened in shock and pain as Cell lifted him off the ground.
"You made one fatal mistake," Cell said coldly, his crimson eyes gleaming. "You thought I'd give you the chance to get stronger."
With a sickening crunch, Cell absorbed Cooler, his energy skyrocketing as he drained the tyrant completely. The once-mighty ruler of the universe was reduced to nothing, his power now a part of Cell's growing strength.
A New Order
The remaining soldiers, who had watched the battle in stunned silence, fell to their knees as Cell turned to face them. His aura radiated power and dominance, leaving no doubt about who was now in control.
"You," Cell said, his voice commanding. "You will no longer serve Cooler. From this moment forward, you answer to me."
The soldiers exchanged uneasy glances before bowing their heads in unison. "Yes, Lord Cell," one of them said. "We live to serve."
Cell smiled, satisfied. "Good. You've made the right choice. Together, we will bring order to this universe. And in doing so, you will help me achieve my true purpose."
He floated into the air, his new followers watching him with a mix of fear and reverence. "There's a new ruler of the universe," Cell declared, his voice echoing across the landscape. "And his name… is Cell."
The soldiers cheered, their loyalty now pledged to their new master. Cell smirked, his thoughts racing with possibilities. The path to perfection was no longer bound to Earth. The universe itself would be his testing ground.
And as his army grew, so too would his power.
