Most of the pups were inside the Lookout doing their normal things. Everest and I were on a shared beanbag. Everest laid her body against mine and her head on my neck. When she showed affection to me, she started to not care about the other pups watching her.
She had become way more confident than when we started this relationship a few weeks ago, while I was still nervous about openly showing her affection infront of people or pups. But with her confidence came an odd feeling.
I started to notice she was always glued to my side at all times. I don't think I have had any time away from her outside of missions, but I noticed how nervous she could get when I was away from her.
"So Chase, how did you and Skye start dating?" a nosy little Labrador asked with a cheeky smile.
Chase and Skye were on a beanbag like me and Everest, but Chase kept Skye between his paws as she was much smaller than he was. Chase looked at Zuma, confused, "What do you mean, Zuma?"
"I mean, is there a story behind how you asked out Skye, like how Everest asked out Marshall?" Zuma giggled, remembering that Everest was the one to ask me out.
"Yeah, I always wonder how that happened," Rubble tells them.
"Well, I certainly didn't have to fight through a horde of wolves like Marshall did, but there is a story behind it," Chase tells the curious pups.
I could feel Everest shiver at the mention of the wolves, even though we were able to get her back, the wolves had really traumatized her, and even just mentioning them made her quiver from anxiety. As soon as I realized she was starting to breathe heavier, I quickly licked the top of her head, trying to relax her nerves. The small act made her smile and lay her head back on my neck.
"Now you have to tell us," Zuma tells Chase with excitement.
"I don't see why we can't tell them," Skye tells her mate with a smile as she gets comfy in the shepherd's paws and chest.
Chase shrugged. "Yeah, I guess I can tell you guys, it all started after me and Marshall's mission about the museum…"
I was pacing around the top of the Lookout. Marshall was watching me with confusion, "What got you so worried?" Marshall asked with concern.
I looked at him, if there was anyone he could trust with his feelings, it was Marshall. "Marshall, I want to ask out Skye, but I don't know how," I explained to Marshall.
Marshall smiled at my predicament, "Just ask her out."
"If it were that simple, you would have asked Everest out already," I rolled my eyes at his suggestion, and his cheeks became a dark shade of pink.
"W-whats the worst thing that could happen?" Marshall asked through his embarrassment, "You have never tried; it is at least worth a shot."
I sigh, "Yeah, I guess, but I want it to be special."
"Well, there is the carnival. They are opening back up today, and that might be something special," Marshall tells me.
"Wait, really?" Chase asked.
"Yup, Spyro was planning on taking me today, he doesn't tend to like crowds, but he says he likes the food they give out," Marshall explains, "Anyway, why don't you ask Skye out on a date there?"
"That's not a bad idea, Thanks, Marshall," I say with a smile and give a small hug.
"Yeah, anytime," Marshall said happily, "You should probably go ask her now…"
"So you guys went to the Carnival?" Rubble asked.
"Yup, you should have seen Chase's face when he asked me to it, he was so nervous," Skye giggled while in Chase's paws.
"Hey! I wasn't that bad!" Chase ruffled the top of Skye's head playfully. "Okay, yeah, but you could tell he was really nervous…"
I sat in my Pup house, no missions were going on, and it was currently snowing outside. It was a perfect day to relax. As soon as I got comfy, I heard a knock on the door, "Hey, Skye, you in there?"
I grin at the voice, "Yeah, need something, Chase?" I opened the door to reveal a blushing German Shepherd holding some pink flowers in his mouth before handing them to me. "Hey, Skye, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the Carnival with me?"
This was not something I expected from him, but I was not disappointed. I couldn't help but show a little blush and giggle, "Are you asking me on a date?"
"Yeah, if you-u're okay with it," Chase said nervously.
I could help but smile at him, "Yeah, of course!" I saw and nuzzled his cheek, "What time?"
"Five, does that sound good?" he asked shyly.
"Yeah, meet you there, I need to go get ready…"
"I'm surprised he even did it, took a few pep talks," I said with a laugh.
"Yeah, says the pup that didn't get to ask his crush out, she had to do it for you," Chase fired back playfully.
Most of the pups giggled, and I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed at Chase's comment. "I don't care who asked who out, I am just glad to have MY Marshmellow," Everest said with a grin as she gave me a playful kiss on the cheek, which made me melt into her embrace.
"So, how did the date actually go?" Zuma asked with a sly grin.
"You know, just a bit of games," Chase tells him, "It was more of a fun night than an ACTUAL date."
"It was a blast, though!" Skye yipped happily.
"Yeah, it was…"
I waited at the gate of the carnival for Skye to arrive. I wore a blue bag on my side, my blue and yellow snow hat with the ball on the end, and the matching scarf. The carnival was huge, but it was big enough. There were many different food stalls and games, most of them being rigged. The main attraction is the Ferris wheel. It was lit up well, and you could see it shine. Though it wasn't dark yet, it would be in an hour or two.
"Hey, I hope I didn't keep you waiting long," Skye says with a grin as she walks up to me.
"You're fine, haven't been here long," I tell with a matching grin.
She wore her pink snow hat with the ball on like mine and the matching scarf. But what was really different was her smell. I took one sniff as my nose took in the sweet scent and grinned, "Roses, didn't think you wanted fancy," I joked.
Skye giggled, "I thought it was a good occasion, now, shall we get going? I want to see what kind of games they have!" Skye tells me, and she grabs me by the paw and starts to drag me inside.
There were plenty of people wandering around and playing games, and eating food. "How about we try that game? I am a pretty good shot!" I bragged a little as I saw a shooting game.
"I bet you are, after all, you are a brave police officer," Skye flirted.
It made me blush, "Yeah, I am, let's try it out.
I walked up to the stand, inside was a small toy gun that fired darts, a small target at the back, and a man standing at the front, "Welcome, wanna try your luck at this game, only ten dollars per dart," he told us.
"Sure, let's do this," I grin and hand the man the money from my bag, and give it to him. Ryder gave me some money for the event. He grinned, "Good luck."
I grabbed the dart gun, focused on the target, I took a deep breath before firing. The dart hit the target straight in the middle, but it didn't budge, Oh, better luck next time!" he shouted with a grin.
"Don't be so cocky, those things just like to take there time," a new voice chimed in and as he did, the target fell over. "You guys should really fix your games. Sometimes you hit them and it does nothing.
The man just burst out into a laugh, as did me and Skye. The man in question was Spyro. He wore some black clothes with a rainbow colored scarf, with a red beanie hat, and had a huge grin.
"Don't just look at me, I think you guys earned a prize," Spyro told with a laugh.
I knew Spyro had something to do with how it fell, but it didn't matter. "What do you want, Skye?"
Skye looked over the many different stuffed animals available. "That one!" she pointed at a stuffed bunny.
The man begrudgingly gave us the stuffed animal as we moved on, "So, you guys hungry, me and Marshall were planning to get some pizza," Spyro asked with a grin.
Both Skye's and my stomachs growled, "I guess that answered your question…"
"I know Spyro had something to do with the target falling; those games were made to be impossible," Chase explained.
"Yeah, he probably did, he did with me too, except I missed," I say with a laugh, "He explained how he did, he just used one of his elements, wind probably."
"Spyro seems to have a trick up his sleeve for everything," Rubble said with a laugh.
"Yeah, he does," I smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, Spyro awesome, let's get to the next part," Everest cut in hastily.
"I'll right…"
The three of us walked up to the food area, where there were a few stalls selling food. We spied Marshall out sitting at one of the tables, but what surprised me was that he wasn't alone. A lavender Husky and a mountaineer were sitting with him.
"Eve, didn't know you were gonna be here!" Skye ran up to her.
"Yeah, me too, Spyro said we should come!" Everest said with a grin as she high paw her best friend.
"Thought it might be fun for us," Jake told us with a smile.
"Chase, good to see you, how is the date going?" Marshall asked which point-blank, which surprised Everest.
"Wait, you're on a date!" Everest asked, surprised, "And you didn't tell me!"
"Well, seems like you're on a date of your own," Skye teased her, which got both her and Marshall, "W-were just hanging out, nothing like that."
"I-it is normal for friends to hang out," Marshall choked out.
"Yeah, if it were a date, Jake and I wouldn't be here, now, food!" Spyro said with a grin, breaking the ice, "Let's dig in!"
All three of us sat down at the table, and in the middle of the table was a large pepperoni pizza. We all grabbed a slice and began eating, "Can't lie, this planet's food is WAY better than Equistria food, I know pony's are herbavores but really, it SUCKED."
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad," Jake responded with a smile.
"I swear, the only food I actually enjoy was their cheese sticks, I am so glad I got RD to try meat, or else I would have gone crazy!" Spyro said with a laugh.
"You two seem to get along really well," Skye pointed out, "Is there anything going on there.
"We're just really good friends, hell, we even adopted Scootaloo together, but she has been mainly taken care of by her," Spyro said before he sighed.
While most of us don't fully understand him, what we do know is that he hates being stuck here. He missed everyone and constantly talked about them all. "So, anyway, how's the food, guys…"
"Spyro hates talking about the past, I am glad they are back," I say with a small smile.
"Yeah, and his friends are awesome, have you seen what they can do!" Rubble says happily.
"No kidding, Keldeo can control water, that's crazy!" Zuma explained.
"And Bolt can manipulate lightning, I need to know the science behind it!" Rocky stated.
"Come on, guys, I need to know how this ends!" Everest yelled at the others' antics, which made them laugh.
"So, there wasn't much left to tell but I saved the last part for last…"
After we ate, we went our separate ways, Jake and Spyro leaving Marshall and Everest to play some games together. Skye and I walked over to the main attraction, the Ferris wheel. It was black and red, with the carts being white.
We walked up to a guy in the front, "You guys wanna hop on the Ferris Wheel?" he asked us with a smile. We both nodded as the Ferris Wheel stopped and one of the carts opened. "Hop in, you two."
We both jumped into the cart, and the door closed behind us. We watched in awe as the Ferris wheel began to spin us. We slowly rose in the air as we both took in the view.
"This view is amazing, I can see all of Adventure Bay!" Skye said happily.
"Yeah, the view is breathtaking," I tell her as I inch closer. I saw the sun slowly setting as it glowed that beautiful color, "And the sun set is to die for."
"Yeah, it is," Skye responded as she also got closer to me.
I knew this was the time to tell her how I feel. "Skye, I don't know how to put this, but I like you, like a lot, have for a long time."
Skye looked with longing eyes as she listened to me, "I honestly think you are the most beautiful, playful, and creative pup I have ever met. Every time you smile, it gives me butterflies."
"So I want to ask, do you feel the same?" I asked and looked straight at her.
I didn't have to wait too long to get my answer as she placed her warm lips on mine, "I do."
"So, how about we try things out?" I asked her with a small smile.
"I'd like that," she said before leaning her body on mine as we watched the sunset together…
"And that is how we got together." Chase finished with a grin.
"That's it; that was boring!" Zuma whined as the others laughed. "What were you expecting? You're the one who asked!" Chase fired back.
"Yeah, I thought it would be cool, not all lovy-dovy!" Zuma said with a disgusted face. We laughed and enjoyed the moment.
So, has been a while, over a year since I updated this book, sorry. I have been struggling with doing multiple books at the same time and being bored with writing. I plan to continue this series as it is something I am very passionate about, so hopefully more updates soon
