"Come on, we're heading over to the shrine." Syouma crosses his arms and blows out a breath. Why is Satoru staring at him like that? "What?"
"You're driving? And what's with the jeans? You always wear traditional clothes."
"Yes, and pack a bag. You are sleeping over." He ignores the comment about his clothes. He looks fine. Semi-casual to put Himari at ease.
"... Are you trying to get rid of me?" Satoru crosses his arms, mimicking Syouma's stance.
"So, you don't want to spend the night and spend time with your wife?"
"Didn't say that. Just thought it was weird how you want me out of the house."
"How many pizzas do you want?"
"Ten. You mocking me?"
"Do you not need to pack?" He uncrosses his arms and heads to the car. Perhaps Satoru has clothes over there then. It would make sense with how much time he spends at the shrine.
"Oi! Don't ignore me, old man."
"We'll stop and pick up some flowers for your mother." He tosses his wallet to Satoru. "Order the pizzas and whatever else. We'll pick them up on the way."
"Since when do you buy flowers?"
"It's for your mother. She's had a long week."
"Uh huh. Stop creeping on my mom."
Syouma pays Satoru no mind, instead he drives to the flower shop first and gets out of the car without waiting for Satoru. He's got long legs these days, Satoru can keep up if he tries.
"Oi!" Satoru curls his lip back as he gets in Syouma's face.
"She'll like these," he says, not waiting for Satoru's reply. "Pick some out for Kagome."
"HUH?" Satoru's face turns an interesting shade of red. "Why would I buy Kagome flowers?"
He rubs his temple. This son of his is so lost. "Because women like flowers. Flowers have meaning." He holds out the bouquet of primula sieboldii. "These mean desire and long-lasting love. Purple is a royal color as well." Syouma picks up another bouquet. "And these camellias are for humility, discretion, and perfect love. You should pick out something for Kagome, since she is to be your wife."
Satoru snatches his shades off. "Why are you picking out flowers that mean love for my mother?"
Syouma blinks. "No reason. She loves the color purple and pink."
"You're such a creeper." Satoru grimaces.
"The pizza should be ready for pickup now." He turns and pays for the bouquets. Red tulips? Syouma clears his throat and motions for Satoru to follow him. After that speech, surely Satoru looked at the meaning of the flowers. Is he serious about Kagome then? Satoru keeps the flowers close to his chest.
Ah, so he is serious even though Satoru lacks the emotional maturity to realize how serious his feelings are.
They pick up all ten boxes of the pizza and the five orders of breadsticks. Satoru balances the pizzas and breadsticks, along with the bouquet of red tulips as he runs up the shrine steps. Syouma shakes his head, but follows closely behind.
"Kagome!" Satoru yells, right as he enters the house. "I got food and I'm staying the night."
"Oh, you're here early." Himari says, fixing her earrings. "Kagome and Sota are watching tv. Gramps is reorganizing the shed, but he'll be around if you need him."
He inhales sharply. Damn. She's beautiful.
"Yeah, yeah... Mom, where are you going?"
Syouma rolls his eyes. "I'm taking her to run some errands."
Himari smiles. "Yes, your dad is driving since we don't have a car."
Satoru presses his lips together and then shrugs as he walks further into the house.
Syouma winks and holds out an arm for Himari to take. "Ready?"
"Do you think they will be okay?" Himari asks, looking at her menu.
Syouma sighs as he places his hand over Himari's menu. He tilts his head. "Gramps is with them. What could go wrong?"
Himari huffs. "Everything. You know how forgetful he's getting." She bites her lip and toys with her hair. "I'm thinking about cutting this."
"Fresh start?"
"Something like that," she murmurs, lowering her hand. "I can't read the menu if your hand is covering it."
"You're going to get the okonomiyaki."
"I don't always get that."
Syouma takes her hand and leans forward, pressing his lips to her soft skin. She's softer than anything he's ever laid his hands on. Softer than any silk. "Then what are you getting?"
"... The okonomiyaki."
He laughs at her put out expression. "Is it so bad for me to know what you like?"
"No. It's just..." Her face flushes pink. "I don't get why you're so interested in me. Or why you would bring me here to the Aman hotel?"
"Everything about you is beautiful. Do I need any more reason?" He lowers her hand and brushes his thumb along her knuckles. Her dark curly hair is down to her shoulders. She looks beautiful with her hair down. She'll look beautiful with it short too. "And why wouldn't I bring you here?"
"Syouma," she says, shoulders drooping. "I don't believe in wasting time."
"Me neither. We can have papers drawn up today." He smiles.
"What?" Her face goes as red as a tomato. "No! That's not what I meant," she stutters.
She's beautiful when she's embarrassed, too.
"I meant that I am not having any more kids. You're from a clan and there's the whole not marriage arrangement with Satoru and Kagome."
"Is that all?"
"Huh?"
"Is that all? Is that supposed to scare me away? You not wanting to have any more kids."
She tugs her hand, but he holds on tighter. He doesn't want to let her go. He can't let her go.
"Shouldn't you want that? And wouldn't it be weird to get married and then Satoru and Kagome get married later?"
"Ehh, either way, their kids would call us grandpa and grandma."
He blinks.
She stares.
"Syouma! Take this seriously."
"I am. I am very serious about you." He rests his head on his fist and continues to trace symbols over her knuckles with his thumb. "We can always wait until after they are married, but it doesn't change anything. You're mine."
She averts her eyes. Her cheeks are full and colored pink. "Be that as it may... why are we eating at a luxury hotel?"
"I got us a room." He waves the server down and puts in their orders. "What?"
"What do you mean, you got us a room? Here?" This time, he lets her tug her hand free. She rubs her head. "Syouma, I didn't even pack."
"Oh, no need. I got you new clothes and everything you'd need. Even got condoms, just in case."
She laughs. "Oh, how thoughtful of you. Were you planning to fuck me raw?"
He sucks his teeth. "Don't tempt me. You don't want any more kids."
Himari leans back. "I would hate for you to wear condoms the whole time, but the pill doesn't agree with my body."
He shrugs. "Then I'll get snipped."
"... What?"
"I'll get—"
"No, I heard you. It's just...you're that serious?"
"You'll have to exorcise me if you ever want to be free of me."
She wets her lips. "Can we have our dinner delivered to the room?"
His heart jumps in tandem with the twitch of his cock. "Let's go, baby."
