Episode 71: Jade Showdown
Mew and her friends arrive at Meteor Village, Zinnia's hometown, meet the elders of their village and learn more about the legends related to the three legendary Pokemon in the Hoenn Region. Of course, things take a terrible turn when both Team Aqua and Team Magma find their way to the village and force the residents to flee indoors with their Pokemon. Other Pokemon are forced to sleep out of the caves. And now, Mew and her friends are trapped with the Elder in her own home. What's more, the two organizations have intentions for her, and plan to get what they need, one way or another.
Still trapped in the Elder's house, Mew, and the others block the door and seal the windows with furniture and other needs. Team Aqua and Team Magma surround the house and they don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
Molly asks, worried, "Are they still out there?"
Zinnia and Brock keep through an eye hole over the door to see Team Aqua and Team Magma are still out there.
"They're still here," Brock says.
"And they don't plan on leaving," Zinnia says.
May turns to the Elder, "But what do they want with you?"
"Perhaps they wish to gain more knowledge about Groudon and Kyogre, or perhaps find the location of the Jade Orb that used to summon Rayquaza back then," The Elder suspects.
Zinnia turns to the Elder, "Ma'am, what do you think we should do?"
"Hmm…" The Elder says, thinking a bit.
Outside of the building, Team Aqua and Team Magma move closer to the house.
"Alright, you all better come out, or we're going to use force," Homura says.
Soon, Shelly says, "You better not get in our way, Team Magma. We'll be the one to have a word with the elder about the location of the Jade then turns to the door, "So, I think it would be best to come out and have a discussion with them."
In the house, Mew and the others are listening in on the conversation, and worried to hear what's going on.
"So that's it," Mew whispers.
"They're trying to figure out where the Jade Orb is," Max whispers.
"And it's also possible they're trying to find the Red Orb and the Blue Orb as well," Brock says.
"What should we do?" Molly asks, worried.
"Well, I think the best solution is to talk to them," The Elder says.
"What?!"The group exclaims in shock.
"Elder, are you sure about this?" Zinnia asks.
The Elder nods her head, "I think it would be the best approach. However, they are not going to be able to find what they're looking for."
"As long as you're sure," Brock says.
"You all shall remain in here while I have a chat with those people," The Elder says.
Zinnia then says, "Okay, but I think I should go with you, just to be safe."
"Of course, Zinnia," The Elder says.
Then Zinna says, "Everyone stay here. In case anything happens, you know what we need to do."
"Alright Zinnia, but you both be careful," Mew says.
"We will," Mew says.
Outside, Team Aqua and Team Magma are still waiting until they see the door opening. As the door opens, the Elder and Zinnia walk out, and the young trainer closes the door behind her.
Homura approaches first, "I suspect you're the village elder."
"Yes. I am. Now what is it you want to discuss that you have to invalid the village and frightening the residence," The Elder questions with a stern tone.
"Well, if you must know, we have reason to believe that the Jade Orb is among your village," Shelly says.
"Oh really," The Elder responds.
"We were thinking the same thing, so I suggest you tell Team Magma the location of the Jade Orb," Homura says.
"Actually, she'll be telling us the location of the Jade Orb, otherwise, the Meteor Village will be in an awkward position," Shelly says.
Zinnia glares at them, "Is that a threat?"
"Of course not, but if you know what's good for your village, you tell us what we need to know," Homura says.
Still inside the house, Mew and the others have been listening to the conversation, and are worried about what's happening on the other side.
"Hey guys, this is starting to get bad," Jen says, worried.
"Yeah. I'm not sure how long they're going to keep this up," Max says.
"Let's listen in before we do anything," Brock says.
"Okay, but if anything happens, we'll have our Pokemon help out," Mew says.
"Eevee," (We're ready when you are.) Eevee says.
"Pika Pika," (Just give us all the signal.) Pikachu says.
"Thanks guys, but remember to be quiet, we don't want to make too much of a racket," Mew says.
The Pokemon nod their heads in response.
Outside, The Elder and Zinnar are trying to stand their ground.
"Well, I hate to break it to you, but we don't know if the Jade Orb is even here," The Elder says.
Then Zinnia says, "That's right. We don't know where it is. And even if we did, we would never tell you."
"You have a smart mouth," Homura says.
Shelly looks at Zinnia and questions, "You know, I can't put it, but you seem familiar."
Hearing that has Mew and the others worried.
"Oh no," Molly whispers worriedly.
They soon hear Homura say, "Now that I look at you, you do seem familiar."
"So, what exactly are you getting at?" Zinnia asks.
Mew and the other's concern increases to hear it.
"Oh now it's right, they'll realize who Zinnia is and what she knows," May says.
"We gotta do something," Mew says.
"But how?" Max asks.
"Only one solution, go into offense and defense when things go south," Mew says.
Everyone nods their heads.
Outside of the house, Zinnia continues to keep her guard up as she protects the Elder.
Then Homura says, "I remember who you are, now. You're that little brat I caught snooping around."
"Well, it seems that we've both been infiltrated by a Draconoid Civilian, and a rather clever one at that," Shelly says.
"That's right. I've been keeping an eye on you creeps for sometime now so I know you plan to use those orbs," Zinnia says, not backing down, and holds out her Pokeball, "Now I suggest you leave before things get ugly."
"I think you're the one who needs to give us answers. Even if we need to take you by force," Homura says.
Soon, the other Magma Grunts and their Mightyena appear.
But then Shelly says, "Sorry, but they'll be the ones coming with us."
And with Aqua Grunts and Crawdaunt comes forwards.
Zinnia stands in front of the elder and has her Pokeball out and ready to attack.
Just then, the door opens from behind, followed by Mew calling out, "Eevee, use Swift!"
Eevee then jumps out and performs Swift Attack, causing both teams to jump back. Zinnia and the Elder turn to see Mew rushing out as Eevee lands on the ground and Pikachu joins in, sparking his cheeks.
"Me- I mean, Ashley!" Zinnia says, shocked.
"Sorry Zinnia, but I can't stand here and allow you to get attacked by them anymore," Mew says.
Tomo and Jen rush out with their Pokemon.
"That's right," Tomo says.
"We won't let anyone hurt you," Jen says.
Zinnia smiles, "Thanks guys."
The Elder smiles, "I must say, you have very good friends, Zinnia. Of course, they show determination in their eyes."
"Well, looks like we'll have to deal with them again," Homura says.
"Which is fine by me," Shelly says.
Then Homura calls out, "Mightyena, use Shadow Ball!"
"Crawdaunts, Bubble Beam!" Shelly calls out.
The group of Mightyena perform Shadow Ball as the Crawdaunts perform Bubble Beam.
Then Mew calls out, "Look out everyone!"
Everyone dodges the attacks. Brock and the rest of the gang rush out.
Tomo calls out, "Skwovet, use Bullet Seet! Meloetta, use Psybeam!"
Skwovet and Meloetta then perform their moves and Team Aqua along with their Pokemon dodge the attacks.
Mew then calls out, "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
"Amaura, use Ice Beam!" Jen calls out.
Pikachu and Amaura fire their attacks forcing Team Magma and their Pokemon to dodge the attacks.
May then comes out, "Skitty, I choose you!"
"Go Gulpin!" Max calls out.
"Go Gible!" Molly calls out.
"Mudkip! I choose you!" Brock calls out.
"Go Aster!" Zinnia calls out.
And with that, all their Pokemons have been called out.
"Gulpin, use Sludge Bomb!" Max calls out.
Gulipn performs Sludge Bomb and fires at the Mightyena. But they soon counter with a Shadow Ball, forcing Max and Gulpin to dodge the attacks.
"Skitty, use Assist!" May calls out.
"Mudkip, use Water Gun!" Brock calls out.
Skitty uses Assist and it reveals Beauitfuly's Gust Attack. Mudkip also performs Water Gun. The Gust hits the Grawdaunts while the Water Gun forces the Mightyena to dodge.
Zinnia then calls out, "Aster, use Stomp!"
"Gible, Dragon Breath!" Molly calls out.
Aster then stomps on one of the Mightyena, while Gible manages to hit one of the Crawdaunts.
Homrua says, "Alright, I'm done messing around!" He then calls out, "Golbat, use Air Cutter!"
Soon, Homura's Golbat comes out and performs Air Cutter, striking at Aster, Gible, and Skitty.
"Oh no!" May cries out.
"Are you all okay!" Molly asks.
All three Pokemon are able to get up, but have received damages from the attack.
"Use Air Cutter!" Homura calls out.
"Pikachu, Eevee, dodge!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu and Eevee dodge the attack.
"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu performs Iron Tail and mananges to hit Golbat, knocking it down.
Shelly then brings out her Pokeball and calls out, "Walrein, I choose you!"
And Walrein comes out.
"Give that Mudkip and those other ones a real Water Gun!" Shelly calls out.
Walrein performs Water Gun and hits Mudkip, Meloetta and Amaura. Amaura is able to regain her footing.
Jen then calls out, "Amaura, Aurora Beam!"
Amaura performs Aurora Beam, but Walrein dodge the attack.
Then Homura calls out, "Use Air Slash!"
Golbat uses Air Slash and is able to hit Pikachu and Eevee.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out.
"Air Cutter!" Homura calls out.
Golbat performs Air Cutter. Pikachu and Eevee are barely able to dodge in the nick of time. However, the Air Cutter attack ends up hitting the stone statue of the village, causing it to break in pieces.
"Oh no!" Zinnia and the Elder cry out in shock.
"Oh no!" Mew cries out and turns to see what happened.
Everyone is shocked to see the statue is broken.
Just then, Shelly calls out, "Aurora Beam!"
Walrein performs the attack and mananges to hit Skitty, Mudkip, Amaura, All of them end up down and are knocked out. May and Brock then ball back their Pokemon.
"You did good, Skitty," May says.
"Get a good rest, Mudkip," Brock says.
At the same time Jen helps Amaura back on her feet, "You did your best Amaura, you get some rest."
"Maur," (Okay.) Amaura says.
"Shadow balls!" The Grunts call out.
The Shadow Balls end up hitting Aster, Meloetta and Skwovet. It even hit Pikachu. All of them are knocked down and knocked out.
"Aster!" Zinnia calls out, and picks her up, "Are you okay?"
"Whismur," (I'm okay.) Aster says, making Zinnia smile.
Tomo then picks up Meloetta and Skwovet while Mew does the same for Pikachu.
"Are you all okay?" Mew asks.
"Pika Pikachu," (I'll be alright.) Pikachu says.
"I'm glad you're okay, Pikachu," Mew says.
"Pika Pika," (Thanks Mew.) Pikachu says.
"Eevee Eevee," (We're glad you're okay.) Eevee says.
Suddenly, someone speaks out, "Well, looks like my suspicions were correct."
Mew turns to see Homura of Team Magma is standing near her. Mew gets in front of the others to protect them.
"I thought that name that little blue haired kid spat out sounds familiar, and the way you talk to Pokemon. You're that trainer from Kanto, Mew, was it," Homura says.
Mew and the others flinch after hearing that.
"Yeah. I've heard a bit about you, and your unique ability to talk to Pokemon. Guess the stories are true,"Homura says.
Mew frowns and questions, "Yeah. So what?"
"Well, from what I see, you've been quite a thorn in our side for sometime now, especially you and your friends keep meddling in our agenda," Homura says.
And soon, the Team Magma Grunt and Mightyena begin to surround them, along with Homura's Golbat. Mew and the others join together and bring out their other Pokeballs, ready to fight back.
"It's not our fault you've always cause trouble for everyone," Tomo says.
"Yeah!" Jen and Molly reply.
"Well, your little snooping has become quite bothersome," Shelly says.
Mew and the others turn to see Team Aqua with their Crawdaunt, along with the Walrein are standing at the other side of them.
"In fact, I've heard about you giving a Kanto Region Organization quite a bit of trouble," Shelly says with a smirk, "However, your gift to speak to Pokemon and be able to touch their hearts is quite a unique gift to have. It might be useful to us to achieve our goal."
Homura then says, "Hate to break it to you, Shelly, but we'll be the one taking the girl. I've already told my boss, and he is quite interested in her abilities."
"Forget it," Mew down right refuses.
"That's right. Mew will never use her gift to harm anyone," May says.
"And know what you plan to do, we're not going to let you use Mew to help with your insane plan to control the ancient Pokemon," Zinnia says.
Then the Elder says, "That's right. After the goodness this girl and her friends try to do for us, I refuse to use her gift to bring harm to humans and Pokemon," and then the Elder brings out her Pokeball.
She then calls out, "Draconids, time to defend!" and then throws her Pokeball.
Coming out of the Elder's Pokeball is a large and powerful looking Dragonite.
And soon, three other Pokeballs fly over, and let out three Flygons. Soon, three men appear.
The one on the left is bold, and is wearing a white kimono shirt, dark pants, and wears a dark red kimono vest with a grayish rope tied around his waist, and wears a silver headband that has the Dragon Type Symbols on it.
The one in the middle wears a similar outfit, but has fair skin, and dark hair covering his eyes.
The third one has tan colored skin, looks muscular and has red hair and a beard, and wears a similar outfit like the other two.
Zinnia says in relief, "Renza, Tomatoma, and Jinga! You all are here."
"We sure are," The bold guy, Renza says.
"And just in time to deal with a group of intruders," The orange haired man, Jinga says.
"And they seem to already give the village some trouble," The dark haired man, Tomatoma says.
The Elder says, "Now then, I suggest both of your teams choose your next move wisely, or you'll have to face what happens when you decide to take on experienced Dragon Trainers."
Mew then brings out her Pokeball, "And you'll be messing with us as well."
"I second it," Zinnia says, bringing out another Pokeball.
Tomo and the others also hold out their Pokeballs, ready to call out their Pokemon for another attack.
Team Aqua and Team Magma stare at the Elder, Mew and her friends, the Draconids, and their Pokemon are ready to fight back.
"Well, looks like we're not going to get any answers," Homura says.
Then turns to his Grunts, "Call back the Mightyena and fall back."
Shelly turns to the Aqua Grunts, "Call back the Pokemon and retreat.
Both Teams call back their Pokemon and are forced to treat from the village.
Mew and the others sigh in relief once Team Aqua and Team Magma are gone.
"That was way too close," Max says.
"Yeah. I'm surprised we were able to get out of that," May says.
"I'm just glad they're gone," Tomo says.
"Yeah, but this won't be the last time we see them," Zinnia says.
"You're right, especially now they know who I am and what I can do, and now they wish to use that," Mew says.
"Don't worry Mew, we won't let that happen," Brock says.
Pikachu and Eevee agree.
"Yeah. They can't do that," Jen says.
"We won't let them," May says.
Mew smiles, "Thanks guys.
Meanwhile, Team Aqua makes their way to their aircraft.
"Well, we didn't get the information from the elder, but at least Team Magma doesn't have it either, which is considered a win for us," Shelly says.
In Team Magma's aircraft, they're heading back to their headquarters.
"We weren't able to get the intel we needed, but now we know that girl is that Pokemon speaker. It's fortunate that Team Aqua didn't get her or the orb," Homura says, "I'll be sure to inform the boss when we arrive."
Back in the Meteor Village, Mew and the others help the villagers fix up their homes that've been damaged and any help the Pokemon that might have been injured. Everyone in the village, including the Pokemon, help work together to clean everything up and help the village get back to its original state.
Time has passed, and the Meteor Village has been returned to normal and all fixed up.
"There we got, the village is all fixed," Brock says.
Tomo turns his head, "Almost."
The group turns to see the stone statue of Rayquaza, broken into pieces.
"Yeah. The statue has been destroyed during the fight," Mew says, feeling guilty.
Zinnia turns to the Elder, "We're about the statue being destroyed. The Dragon Lord wouldn't like to see what happened, and those who want to use the power against others."
"Do not worry, the statue can be fixed and repaired, but you are correct. The Dragon Lord wouldn't like Team Aqua and Team Magma's ambitions."
"I don't think anyone would," Max says.
"No kidding," May says.
Mew then looks at the head of the statue, "Well, the best we can do is pick up the pieces and see what can be fix, and what can be renewed," She then begins to pick up the statue's head, but the tongue of the statue falls off, "Oops…" but a strange small glow appears from within the mouth.
Pikachu calls out, "Pika Pi!" (Mew, look there!)
"Huh?" Mew questions.
Mew turns the head around to face it and notices a green glow inside. Zinnia and the others, even the Elder, are surprised to see the strange green glow. Mew looks inside the mouth and her eyes wide in astonishment. She then reaches her hand inside and pulls out a green round orb. The orb lets out a small glow and a pattern appears on it. The group, including Mew, are surprised to see the orb.
"What is that?" Molly asks.
"It's the Jade Orb," Zinnia says.
"This is the orb that's used to summon Rayquaza?" Mew asks.
"That is correct," The elder says, "Our ancestor must have had the orb hidden within the mouth of the statue so they can watch over it from anyone who would want to use it for nefarious purposes."
"It's a good thing that Team Aqua and Team Magma didn't find it," Brock says.
"Yeah, but if they find out, they'll try to steal it for sure," Max says.
"Not unleash I place it in good hands," The elder says, confused.
Zinnia, Mew and the others look at the Elder with confused expressions.
"What do you mean?" Zinnia asks.
The Elder turns to Zinnia and explains, "Zinnia, I have a feeling it will be a matter of time before the two organizations find out about the Jade Orb being in the village. And I also feared that they would find the other two orbs to control the ancient Pokemon."
"You're right," Zinnia says.
"Which is why I think it will be best for the Jade Orb to be with you and your friends," The elder says.
Zinnia and the others are shocked to hear.
"Really? Are you sure?" Zinnia asks, surprised.
The elder nods her head, "Yes. I believe that you and your friends are meant to find the Jade Orb, and with your encounters with Team Aqua and Team Magma, I have a feeling that your paths will cross again." Then calmly says, "Therefore, I pass the Jade Orb to you and your friends to keep safe, and when the time comes, Rayquaza shall answer."
Zinnia, Mew, and the others look at each other. They then nod their heads in response.
Zinnia then says, "Elder, we promise to keep the Jade Orb safe, and when the time comes, we'll be sure to call Rayquaza if needed."
The Elder nods, "Then, I trust the care of the Jade Orb in your hands."
"Don't worry, we'll help Zinnia take care of it," Mew says.
"You can count on it," Tomo says.
"Yeah!" Max, Jen, and Molly say.
"It's in good hands," Brock says.
"We'll all help," May says.
All the Pokemon respond.
Zinnia giggles and says, "Thanks guys."
Sometime later, Mew and the others are escorted out of the village and the cave through a different secret entrance with the elder's help.
The Elder says, "If you continue on this path, you shall be able to reach Petalburg City."
"Thank you, Elder," Zinnia says.
"Thank you," Mew and the others reply.
"I hope you all have a good journey. And I wish both you girls with your battles and contests," The Elder says.
"Thank you," Mew and May say.
"We'll see you around," Zinnia says
Everyone says their goodbyes and continues on their journey.
Despite the hitch they've experienced at Meteor Village with Team Aqua and Team Magma, Mew and her friends have shown that with the trust of their friendship, they are able to accomplish a lot. Now with the Jade Orb safely in their possession, what path will lead them when the two teams ambitions fully take place. For now, Mew and her friends continue on their journey to Petalburg City for Mew's next gym battle.
