Episode 80: Whiscash, Finizen, and Mew!
One bright and sunny day, at a cabin, Brock is preparing lunch for everyone.
Soon, the soup is done, and Brock says, "Perfect!"
May is setting the plates with Zinnia as Max walks over with a basket of bread. Jen and Molly pick some fruit and berries from the trees and bushes.
At the edge of the dock, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee are sitting and relaxing by the lake with Tomo, Meloetta, and Skowvet. Mew also looks at the badges she earned.
"Five badges down and three left," Mew says.
"And then you can enter the Hoenn League, right?" Tomo asks.
"That's right, but I also need to earn three ribbons in order to get to the Grand Festival," Mew says.
"Yeah," Tomo says.
"I can't wait," Mew says.
However, little do they know, something is secretly watching them from beneath the water, which looks like the shadow of a massive fish. Whatever it is, it's blue with yellow whispers. However, something else seems to come toward the dock from a different direction.
May calls out, "Hey Mew! Tomo! Guys! It's about time for lunch!"
"And could you bring some water?" Max calls out.
"Okay," Mew says.
"We'll get it," Tomo says
Mew and Tomo get up and walk up the dock to see a few buckets. Tomo accidentally trips on the bucket and bumps into Mew. That causes her to let go of the case as she falls and sends it flying.
"Oh, no!" Mew cries out.
And suddenly, a massive fish like Pokemon comes leaping out of the water, and seemingly swallows the case. A dark blue, catfish-like Pokémon with a yellow underbelly. It has a cavernous mouth with light blue lips that have short, thin whiskers growing from the lower lips. Long, yellow barbels grow from its cheeks, and there is a yellow marking on its forehead that resembles a W. The light blue dorsal fin has a pattern of three spots arranged in a triangle, while its horizontal tail fin lacks spots. Its pectoral fins and belly fins match its main body color.
Then it dives into the water.
"Oh no! My badges!" Mew cries out.
Everyone rushes over
"Now what am I gonna do?" Mew asks.
May then gets out her Pokedex, "I wonder what that was." and looks through her Pokédex before finding it.
Dextette says, "Whiscash, the Whiskers Pokémon. A Water and Ground Type. Whiscash has strong territorial instincts that make it go berserk when an enemy approaches and may create earthquakes," Soon the Whiscash surfaces.
"That is one humongous Whiscash!" Max says.
"Yeah. It looks bigger than a normal person," Molly says.
Mew then asks, "Hey Whishcash, can I have my badge case back? Please?"
Whiscash sticks out its tongue and shows the case.
"Yes. That's it! Can I have it back?" Mew asks.
Whiscash rolls its tongue back in and the badge case with it before it starts somewhat imitating Mew.
"Hey, can I at least get it back?" Mew asks.
However, Wishcash is not listening. Instead, it responds with Water Pulse.
"Look out!" Jen cries out.
Everyone runs out of the water before the attack hits.
"That was one mean Water Pulse!" Max says.
The Whishcash cheekily dives underwater.
"Wait, come back!" Mew calls out, and dives into the water after Whishcash.
Pikachu and Eevee cry out, (Mew!)
Mew swims down, following Whishcash.
"I need to get my case back," Mew says.
Whiscash grins and swims into some seaweed, Mew swims after it but gets her foot caught in a vine. Mew struggles to breath as she tries to break free from the restraint.
Just then, something comes swimming towards her. A light blue cetacean Pokémon resembling a dolphin. It has a pale bluish white coloration on its underbelly that extends to its lower jaw and eyes, as well as on its dorsal fin. Its eyes have two-tone blue and pink pupils, and it has a short snout. On the sides of its body are pale bluish white wave patterns. It has a pair of pectoral fins and a split tailfin. It has a ring of water around the base of its tail.
Seeing her in trouble, the Pokemon pulls and bites on the seaweed, breaking her free. Then picks Mew up on its back, giving her a ride at the surface. Soon, the Pokemon reach the surface and Mew is able to breathe again.
Mew turns to the Pokemon, "Thank you for saving me."
The Pokemon squeaks in response.
"Good thing that Pokemon was nearby when it did," A voice says.
Mew looks to see what looks like a man wearing a purple kimono with yellow rings around the shoulders, and has grayish purple hair.
"I was hoping it was Nero, but you look small. Guess I'll have to settle for you and your new little friend there," The man says.
Sometime later, Mew is taken back to shore, and sneezes as she shivers after they set up a campfire to warm her up
The man says, "How absurd. You really thought you could catch Nero with your bare hands?"
"I didn't think much of it, I just wanted my badge case back," Mew says.
"Still, that was dangerous," Mew says.
"And crazy," Zinnia says.
Brock then asks, "When you say Nero, do you really mean that giant Whiscash?"
The man nods, "And you'll be interested to know that this lake is his territory and he's reigned over it for over 100 years."
"So, why would Nero want Ashley's badge case?" May asks.
"All Whiscash are drawn to objects that sparkle and shine," The man says. Then turns to Mew, "I'm assuming that your badge case would fall into that category, right?"
"Yes, sir. It sure does," Mew says.
Then groans in frustration, "But I really got to get my badges back!"
"Not to worry," The man says and stands up, "I'll make sure you get them back. I'll do it myself."
"How are you going to do that?" Jen asks.
"It's time I told you all who I am," The man says. Then shouts with pride, "I am the great Sullivan! And for fifty years, I have pursued Nero! I am a fishing master!" and laughs proudly.
"But if you're all that good, how come you've never caught Nero in fifty years?" Max asks.
Sullivan begins clenching his fists in dismay and shock.
"Sir! Are you alright?" Brock asks.
Sullivan sulks, "That kid really knows how to hurt a god. I mean a guy.
May bonks Max on the head, "Next time, could you just keep your mouth shut?"
"That hurts!" Max cries out.
"Well, it's not a very nice thing to say," Jen says.
Mew then asks, "Um Mr. Sullivan, can you help me get my badge back? I can really use some help and you said you are a pro."
"Yeah. We can use all the help we can get," Brock says.
"Of course I will. Now, you'll all need fishing rods and you'll need to learn how to fish, unless you already know how," Sullivan says.
"We'll, I've fished before, and I think I actually have my rod in my bag," Mew says.
"Really?" Sullivan says.
"Yeah. I have one in my bag," Mew says, and reaches into her bag.
Then brings out her Super Rod.
"A Super Rod, huh," Sullivan says, "Now that's a good rod to have."
"Thank you," Mew says.
Then Sullivan presents the rods, "I've got a few rods for your friends if they don't have any. And I guarantee you're holding the best fishing rods money can buy."
"Can we learn how to fish too?" May asks.
"Please?!" The kids ask us.
"Hmm, I don't see why not," Sullivan says, with a smile, "Just grab a rod and we can begin with the lessons."
Soon, Sullivan presents a tackle box, full of fishing lures.
"You sure have a lot," Brock says.
"And every single one of them I've used to catch a Water Pokemon. Pick whatever one catches your eye," Sullivan says.
Mew then picks a Piakchu one, "I'm going with this Pikachu lure for good luck."
Brock then picks one up, "I've found me a Lotad lure."
"This Psyduck lure is awfully cute," May says, picking hers up.
"And I'm gonna use this Kecleon lure," Max says.
Zinnia says, "This Salamence one is cool."
"I'll go with Kangaskhann," Tomo says.
"Teddiursa for me," Molly says.
"Ans Swinub for me," Jen says.
Molly then asks, "So Mr. Sullivan, which one are you going to use?"
"I've searched for the lure to catch Nero for years, so I say, what the heck, just give Butterfree a shot," Mr. Sullavin says, showing the lure, "And, I've been trying many strategies and plan to capture Nero."
"Really?" Jen asks,
"What is it?" Max asks.
"All in good time, Max," Sullivan says.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Team Rocket was spying from afar.
"Well, it looks like the twerps are going fishing today," Jessie says.
"I overheard them say their goal is to capture a Whiscash," James says.
"Gimme a break! Dose Whiscash are nearly impossible to find!" Meowth says.
Suddenly, a smaller Whiscash leaps up out of the water in front of them before going back under.
"What would you call that?" Jessie questions.
"A Whiscash," James says.
"So, we just happened to luck out dat one time," Meowth says.
And then, Nero suddenly jumps out of the water and goes back under with a large splash, soaking Team Rocket in the process
"Was that luck?!" Jessie asks
"In the form of a gigantic Whiscash!" James says.
And Meowth says, "I just came up with da perfect gift idea for da boss!" Meowth says.
"Then let's say it in perfect pitch! We're going to be stinking rich!" Team Rocket says.
Wobbuffet then calls out, "Wobbuffet" (Let's go fish!)
Later, the gang has cast their lines and are waiting.
"Fishing is kind boring," Molly says.
"Maybe, it's worth the wait, and it's relaxing," Mew says.
"But so far, we haven't caught a nibble," May says.
"I wonder how Sullivan is doing," Zinnia asks.
Soon, Sullivan gets a tug on his line.
"Finally, a bite!" Sullivan says, reels in his catch, which was a Carvanha.
"Whoa! A Carvanha?" Tomo says, amazed.
"A good catch, but not what I'm looking for," Sullivan says, and releases the Cavanha and casts his line out again.
"Still a good catch anyway," Mew says.
Sullivan gets another tug, and reels in a Magikarp, "Definitely not what we're looking for," releases the Magikarp and casts his line out once more.
"That Magikarp is really tiny," Molly says.
Sullivan gets another bite, and this time reels in a Remoraid.
"Aw, a Remoraid," Jen says.
"Cute, but not what we're looking for," Mr. Sullivan says, and releases the Remoraid before casting again.
Soon, Mew feels something tugging her line, "I got something!"
"I got one too!" Tomo says.
Soon, Tomo pulls out a Barboach, and Mew pulls out the Pokemon that saved her.
"Oh hello, again," Mew says.
The Pokemon squeaks and dives in the water. Then rises up to see Mew with a smile.
"Cool, I caught a Barboach," Tomo says.
"Good catch, but it's pretty close. After all, Barboach is the pre-evolved form of Whiscash," Mr. Sullivan says.
"Still, the one Mew caught is really cute," May says.
"Yes, and rare around the Hoenn Region. That is a Finizen, and they originate in the Paldea Region," Mr. Sullivan says.
"Cool," Mew says and brings out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Finizen, the Dolphin Pokemon. A Water Type. It likes playing with others of its kind using the water ring on its tail. It uses ultrasonic waves to sense the emotions of other living creatures."
"Hey Mr. Sullivan, you caught a lot of Water Pokemon before while looking for Nero, what's the secret of being a good fisherman?" Molly asks.
"You want to know the secret of good fishing, little miss? Well, it's rather simple," Mr. Sullivan says.
"What's that?" Molly asks.
"Here's the first secret, always look for a spot where you see plenty of Water Pokemon, preferably a spot that's not too deep, but not too shallow," Mr. Sullivan says.
"That's easy enough," Zinnia says.
"Simple? I just call that obvious," Max says.
"Max, don't say that," Mew sternly says.
"Sorry," Max says.
"So what do we do next?" Jen asks.
"Easy, follow me," Mr. Sullivan says.
Soon, everyone reaches a spot full of reeds.
Mr. Sullivan explains, "A good place to start would be right offshore where there are plenty of reeds," Then take them to another spot, this time one full of lily pads, "This spot is perfect for catching Poliwag because they like to be around lily pads. Then there are the rough areas along the shoreline with lots of stones and gravel. You may get lucky and spot a Krabby or maybe the EXTREMELY rare Relicanth.
Then Sullivan leads them to another spot, this time one full of trees and tree stumps coming out of the water, "Another good spot, one that's perfect to practice angling, is where you can find trees protruding out of the water."
"Sounds exciting. I can't wait to go fishing," May says.
"Glad you're excited," Sullivan says. Then steps forward, "Once you select your fishing spot, you must choose where you're aiming and cast your line out with as much accuracy as you can. I'll demonstrate by trying to cast my line and lure out to those two stumps," points to them.
"Watch me. I'll try, the flying full moon cast!" Sullivan says, and makes a pose.
"Fly?" May questions.
"Full Moon?" Mew questions.
"Cast?" Tomo says, confused.
Sullivan casts his line and lands the hook and lure right in between his targets, amazing everyone.
"And that's the way it's done," Sullivan says.
"Let me try," Mew says. She then casts her line out to the same spot. Then it is able to reach the location.
"I got it," Mew says.
And suddenly, she feels her fishing line getting pulled.
"I got one!" Mew says.
"Maybe it's Nero!" Max says.
Sullivan says to Mew, "Pull the rod up! Otherwise, the line will break!"
"Right," Mew says and does what Mr. Sullivan says.
When she pulls it up, it's revealed to be Finizen, again."
"Hi again, Finizen," Mew says.
Finizen lets go and cheep with glee before diving back in the water.
"That Finizen sure seems to get to you one way," Brock says.
"I guess so," Mew says with a sheepish smile.
"I like to try," May says, and casts her line. Sadly, May missed, "I missed."
"A good fisherman isn't made in a day, you know. Practicing is the key," Sullivan says.
"I'll have a try!" Max says, excited, and casts his line out and hits the exact spot that Sullivan hit, shocking everyone, "That was, easy."
"No way. I've been casting my line longer than you've been alive and you managed to hit the very same spot I did in just one try?" Sullivan says.
Suddenly, something starts pulling on Max's line, "I, think I got something!" and pulls back to try and reel it in.
"I'll say you do!" Brock says.
"It might be a big one!" Mew says.
"Do you think it could be Nero?" Tomo asks.
"Maybe!" Sullivan says.
"Good Max, go for it!" May says.
Sullivan says, "Remember, pull the rod up! Otherwise, the line will break!"
Max starts pulling up, "I'm trying!" and pulls harder.
"You can do it, Max!" Jen says.
"You almost got it!" Mew says.
"Here it comes!" Molly says.
It is soon revealed that Max caught a regular-sized Whiscash.
"A Whiscash!" Molly says.
"But smaller," Jen says.
"You are right. It's no Nero, that's for certain," Mr. Sullivan says.
Suddenly, Nero surfaces right next to the smaller Whiscash.
"Now that's Nero!" Mr. Sullivan says.
Nero sticks out his tongue to reveal the badge case before rolling it back in and then doing a backwards flip into the water.
Mew groans and then screams at the Whiscash, "Hey! Get back here you thief! Give me back my badges!"
Piakchu and Eevee shouts in their language, (RIGHT NOW!)
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is sitting in a speed boat and are very bored as they try fishing for Nero.
Jessie lets out a yawn, "Blah. Fishing is so overrated."
"Maybe that's because we haven't been given dem anyting woith biting in da foist place," Meowth says.
Offended, James turns to Meowth, "James: Why, you little ingrate! That's what you get for dipping into my collection!"
Jessie reels in her line, revealing a bottle cap at the end, "Well, a bottle cap is still a bottle cap."
Suddenly, Jessie gets pulled back as she screams.
"Problem, Jess?" Meowth asks.
"Something's biting me!" Jessie cries out.
James and Meowth pull her back and find that a Feebas bit her hair like a fishing lure.
"And what is that?" Jessie asks.
"I tink dat its called a Feebas," Meowth says.
"It seems to really like your hair, Jess, but not in the right way," James says.
"Yeah? Well, get in line," Jessie says and flicks it with her finger to make it let go, "Go."
The Feebas lets go and falls into the water.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others are not having much luck. Mew, Tomo, May, and Zinnia.
"Man, I haven't even gotten one bite," Tomo says.
"Barely a nibble," Zinnia says.
"And this is supposed to be a great spot, too," May says.
"Well, from what I learn from Misty, patience is important," Mew says.
Soon, Sullivan comes by with Max, Brock, Jen and Molly in a boat.
Sullivan says, "Yes, but here's lesson number three. When the spot you picked goes wrong, you move along."
"Right," Tomo and the girls reply.
"That is why a great fisherman always has more than one great spot in mind," Sullivan says.
Meanwhile, Jessie was having her hair pulled overboard again.
She cries out, "How could this be happening again?! This time it better be a little more interesting!" and pulls forward and finds that it was another Feebas.
"Feebas," James says.
"Get off!" Jessie shouts and slings her hair to make the Feebas fly back into the water.
"You know, since water Pokémon seem to like Jessie's hair so much, maybe dat Whiscash would too, right?" Meowth says.
Jessie is not amused by it, "Have you lost your mind? A woman's hair is her life, her love, her being, herself."
Then James spots something, "Hey, look."
They soon spot to see Mew and her friends, including Mr. Sullivan, and they are all fishing as well.
"The twerps of the sea," Jessie says.
Then James has an idea, "Hey, we should let them do the Whiscash catching so we can steal it from them the Team Rocket we are."
"I like it," Jessie agrees.
"Team Rocket is back in action!" Meowth says.
Suddenly, Jessie's hair gets pulled again, only this time she gets pulled overboard. James and Meowth see its another Feebas.
"This is getting very old," Jessie says and tries to pull the Feebas off her hair, "Fins off!"
"Wobbuffet." (Talk about fishing by a hair!) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, Mew and her friends are still fishing and this time where the lily pads are growing.
Mew says in thought, "All my badges," and starts thinking about them, "My stone badge, my knuckle badge and my dynamo badge. My heat badge, and my balance badge, too. Each one of them took so much hard work to win and hold so many memories. I earned them all, and now I'm gonna get them all back."
Soon, she hears a squeak and looks to see Finizen again.
"Hello again," Mew says.
Then Finizen jumps and gives Mew a kiss on the cheek. Mew smiles and suspects it trying to cheer her up.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sullivan stands and focuses until he senses something, "I sense it! A Whiscash!"
"Where?!" Everyone asks.
"It's nearby. After 50 years, I know Nero like the back of my hand. Here comes the quick draw focus cast!" Sullivan says and casts his line and immediately get something, "A bite!"
"Alright!" Mew and the others cheer.
The catch starts putting up a struggle.
"Wow! That's huge!" Mew says.
"Sullivan hoists the rod up and everyone looks to find that he caught a Magikarp, and it's two times bigger than a normal one.
"It's a Magikarp," May says.
"But a very big one," Max says.
Mew giggles with a smile, but she ends up getting a bite, "I got a bite!" and starts trying to reel it in.
"Let's hope it's really Nero this time," Sullivan says.
"I don't know if it's Nero, but it's a big one!" Mew says.
Sullivan says, "Quick, lift the rod and set the hook! Whichever way it pulls, you have to pull the rod in the opposite direction!"
"Right!" Mew says and does so.
Finizen squeaks and cheers for Mew.
Mew then pulls her rod to the service, and soon, Nero the Whiscash comes up.
"Nero!" Sullivan calls out.
"Alright!" Mew says.
Nero starts to pull on the line, dragging Mew's boat along with it, all the while Mew tries to reel Nero in, only to almost get pulled off and rescued at the last minute by Pikachu, Eevee, and the others.
"Maybe we should let go?" Max asks.
"Sullivan, help!" May says
Nero continues to pull..
But Sullivan says, "There's nothing I can do and there's no turning back! It's a fishing fight to the finish!"
"Yeah!" Mew says.
Sullivan soon sees some rocks approaching, Oh, no! He's pulling us toward those rocks!"
"We'll hit it if we're not careful!" Zinnia says.
"Well, that won't happen. Everyone, stand back and hold on!" Mew says.
Everyone does so.
Soon, Finizen swims over beside the boat and squeaks.
Mew understands it and asks, "You want to help too?"
Finizen squeaks in response.
"Alright, let's do it!" Mew says.
Mew then jumps off the boat, and sits on Finizen.
"Finizen, use Aqua Jet!" Mew calls out.
Finizen then performs the attack with Mew on it, making it swim past Nero. Mew then jumps on the rocks close by.
"Great landing, kid! Now pull as hard as you can!" Sullivan says.
Mew does so and brings Nero onto the shore, causing everyone on the water to celebrate.
Then Mew calls out, "Now, Aqua Jet!"
Finizen performs Aqua Jet once more and strikes at Nero. Nero is sent flying and into some of the rocks. Finizen then lands on shore as well.
Mew gets in front of Neo, "Alright Nero, I want my badge case and I want it now!" Then presents her hand, "Hand! It! Over!"
But Nero just laughs.
"Great," Mew says, annoyed.
"Nero is laughing," May says.
"It thinks it's a game," Jen adds.
Suddenly, a net drops down and scoops Nero and Finizen up.
"Finizen!" Mew cries out.
Sullivan cries out, "What is the meaning of this?!"
And they get their answer to hear the Team Rocket motto as Finizen and Whishcash are being carried away in the net, hanging from Team Rocket's balloon.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble since you don't seem to get it!
James:
Make it double cause we decided to net it!
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
Angler James!
Jessie:
Team Rocket casts off at the speed of light.
James:
Surrender now to the hook or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dats right!
Wobbuffet:
WOBBUFFET! (End of scene!)
"Team Rocket!" May, Zinnia, and Jen cry out.
"It's always you guys!" Max says.
"Thank you, I'll take that as a compliment," Jessie says.
"Me too!" James says.
"See you around!" Meowth says and presses a button to activate some rockets to make the balloon zoom away, "Buh-bye!"
Sullivan turns to the others, "Let's go after them."
"Right!" The gang agrees.
They pursue after Team Rocket across the lake as they cheer, "This is the only way to fly!"
Mew and the others ride the boat to keep up, but no luck.
"They're going way too fast," May says.
"Oh, no, they're not," Brock says and brings out his Pokeballs, "Mudkip, Lombre, it's showtime!"
The two come out.
Tomo says and calls out, "Staryu! Go!"
And Staryu comes out.
Brock and Tomo call out, "Now, use Water Gun!"
The three Pokemon do so and make the boat speed up.
"They've found their second wind!" Jessie panics.
"Then let's find ours!" James says.
Meowth presses the button three times, but the rockets don't make them go faster.
Meowth cries out, "Dat load of lard weighs too much!"
Mew throws her Pokeball and calls out, "Grovyle, Bullet Seed, go!"
Grovyle comes out and fires the attack, creating multiple punctures in the balloon, sending Team Rocket crashing back down to earth.
"Look like your flying days are over!" Mew says.
James then throws his Pokeball, "Yes, but yours aren't! Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Cacnea comes out, but hugs James instead.
"Not that! I asked for a Pin Missile, not a hug, thank you!" James cries out.
Cacnea then fires the attack.
Mew calls out, "Grovyle, Bullet Seed!"
Grovyle fires the attack and soon overpowers the Pin Missile, hitting Cacnea hard.
Jessie then calls out, "Seviper, Poison Tail, go!"
Seviper comes out and throws the attack.
Mew calls out, "Iron Tail, Pikachu!"
Pikachu throws the attack and collides with Seviper's attack.
"Dat's it! I'm getting rid of dat Pika-pest for good!" Meowth says and points a rocket launcher at Pikachu, only for Nero and Finizen to see it.
They both nod, and join forces to break free from the net. Finizen jumps on Nero's back, and Nero leaps into the air. He then lands with a groundbreaking thud before the ground starts shaking around everyone.
"A Whiscash Earthquake!" Max cries out.
Then Finizen jumps and gives Team Rocket a powerful Aqua Tail and sends them flying.
Jessie: I guess we're not meant to be fishermen.
"Oh, well," James says.
Guess we're the ones dat gets away," Meowth says.
Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"
Soon, Finizen then lands on Nero, leans his tail down and begins tickling him. Soon, Nero sneezes and spits out Mew's badge case along with Finizen. Mew then kicks both Finizen and her badges.
Mew opens her case and says, "All five badges! They're all here! What a relief."
Then turns to Finizen and says, "Thank you for helping me, and I have to admit, that is one mean Aqua Tail."
Finizen smiles, and squeaks, thanking for the compliment.
Nero tries to flop away.
Soon, Sullivan says, "Nero, stop!"
Nero turns toward him
"It's my turn, now!" Sullivan says, and calls out, "Go, Hannah!"
And with that, Hannah, who turns out to be a Flaaffy, comes out.
"Hannah?" May questions.
"Hannah who?" Max says.
"Hannah must be the name of his Flaaffy," Brock says.
May gets out her Pokédex and Dextette says, "Flaaffy, the Wool Pokémon. An Electric Type. Flaaffy builds up electricity in its thick coat of fur, but is unaffected by it, thanks to its rubber-like skin."
Sullivan then calls out, "Prepare for battle! Hannah, use Dynamic Punch!"
Hannah, the Flaaffy performs the attack fast and hard, but Nero retaliates with a Water Gun.
Sullivan then calls out, "Quick, dodge and use Iron Tail!"
Hannah does so, hitting Nero hard with the tip of her tail
"Wow! What a hit!" Zinnia says.
"Hannah's awesome!" Tomo says.
Sullivan calls out, "Okay, Hannah, rap this up with Thunder Shock, now!"
Hannah lets out the attack and it lands, but Nero barely feels it.
"Oh, no!" Sullivan says, shocked.
"Mr. Sullivan, Whishcash is also a Ground Type, Electric won't work on it," Mew says.
"I'll keep that in mind should I fail today," Sullivan says.
"But you say you always have a plan, right?" Brock asks.
"I actually do," Sullivan says and reaches into his robe, "I plan to use… this!" and shows a different kind of Pokéball with an M on it.
"No way!" Brock says, surprised.
"It's a Master Ball!" Mew saya.
"What's a Master Ball?" May asks.
"A Master Ball is a Pokeball that can allow a trainer to capture any Pokemon without fail," Brock says.
"But I thought Team Rocket were the only ones who made one," Mew says, and remembers the Master Ball in her bag.
Brock thinks, "The plans for the Master Ball must have gotten out somehow."
"It's possible. But it took me until a few months for me to find one of these once I heard about them," Mr. Sullivan says.
"That's great and all, but shouldn't you stop talking and start catching Nero, Mr. Sullivan?" Mew says.
"Yes, you're right," Sullivan says.
Then says to Nero, "It's somewhat poignantly fitting that after all these many years of pursuing you, we would find ourselves eye to eye. And now my journey is at its end! Master Ball, go!" and throws the Master Ball with all his might, only for Nero to open its mouth and seemingly swallow it whole, shocking everyone.
"COME ON! WHY'D YOU DO THAT!?" Sullivan cries out.
Nero flops back into the water.
Sullivan sighs, "Well, as they say, tomorrow's another day."
The group is surprised.
"You mean it?!" May asks.
"Sure," Sullivan says, "As long as I don't catch Nero, I can still look forward to the hunt, see?"
"That's the spirit!" Mew says.
"That's what makes you the legend you are," Brock says.
Everyone cheers.
"Come now, you'll make me blush," Sullivan says, and laughs before everyone else joins him.
Then Finizen then gives Mew a kiss. Mew then smiles at it with a smile.
Later that evening…
Mew looks at her badges, "I'm never letting you guys out near water again."
Sullivan says, "Ashley, I wish you luck in your next gym battle."
"Thanks," Mew says.
"Stop by if we ever want to do a little angling,"
"Take care, and good luck on your hunt for Nero," Mew says.
The group then takes their leave as Nero is balancing the Master Ball on his tongue
Although Nero remains elusive, Mew is able to recover his five beloved badges. And so, they continue on their journey to the Hoenn League.
As they walk, Tomo says, "That was a fun adventure huh."
"Yeah. Even though it turned into a wild mess," Zinnia says.
"True, but all well, that ends well. I've got my badges," Mew says.
Then brings out her Pokeball, "And I got a new friend," Then tosses it, "Come on out, Finizen!"
And soon, Finizen comes out with a squeak.
Mew then catches Finizen and says, "I've caught Finizen, and she's really sweet."
Finzien squeaks happily in response. Pikachu and Eevee are happy to have a new friend in the group.
