…Earlier…
Lincoln and Dr. Sivana watched as a man emerged from the sarcophagus. Like Lincoln's, his body crackled with lightning. Lincoln noticed that the man's costume was nearly identical to his, but black and somehow darker than Lucy's. The man was collecting himself as he rubbed his bald head. Trying to take advantage of Lincoln's distraction, Dr. Sivana made another attempt to escape, but Lincoln noticed him. He appeared in front of Dr. Sivana, using his super speed to block him.
"Going somewhere, doc!?"
"I…I," Sivana squeaked.
Suddenly, the man blitzed Lincoln, knocking him into a nearby wall, surprising both Lincoln and Sivana. Dr. Sivana continued running, and Lincoln attempted to catch him again despite what had happened. Still, the man grabbed him by the cape and threw him across the room into another wall, giving Sivana enough time to reach his escape hatch.
"Thank you, Mighty Adam."
"That is no longer my name."
"Huh?"
"I was once this world's protector until the wizards betrayed me and the world forsaken me. This world may have forgotten the name Mighty Adam, but they will learn to fear the name BLACK ADAM!" the man proclaimed.
"As for you, Big Red Cheese, have fun with your new friend, and I'll be sure to send flowers to your dead friend Clyde's funeral and yours," Sivana mocked before he closed the hatch and rocketed off in his hidden rocket.
"No!" roared Lincoln, flying into the sky after it.
However, Black Adam blocks him, allowing the rocket to escape and further enraging Lincoln.
"Do you realize what you've done!?" Lincoln yelled.
"Your petty vendetta is of no concern of mine; now relinquish your title as champion of The Rock Of Eternity back to me."
"What?"
"You may have restored me, but I am no longer tethered to the rock of eternity and can no longer gain access to it unless you return the title to me; now do it, boy!"
"Why the heck would I do that? You're a complete stranger to me. Do you seriously think I'm going to grant you access to the rock just because you tell me to?" Lincoln asked.
Black Adam said nothing, but he had the same look in his eyes that Lincoln's parents or sisters did when they were in one of their 'I'm not asking, I'm telling you what to do' moods.
"I'm now giving you shit! Especially after what you cost me!" Lincoln reaffirmed.
"I'm just as fine with taking it."
Black Adam flew at Lincoln, delivering a powerful uppercut that sent him into the mesosphere. Lincoln retaliated with a double-hammer fist as Black Adam tried to close the gap. However, he noticed the attack wasn't as strong as it should have been.
"Do you see, boy? You used most of your power to revive me foolishly, but you don't have the power to match mine, and I won't give you the chance to reclaim it!"
Black Adam began to beat down Lincoln, moving faster and hitting harder than Lincoln could at the time. Lincoln managed to get a few blows, but in his weakened state, it wasn't enough to do significant damage as their fight reached the exosphere. Black Adam then struck Lincoln with his own double-hammer fist, sending the weakened back to earth. The blow was so hard that Lincoln couldn't break out of his fall, just brace for impact.
…Now…
"This is your final warning, boy! Relinquish your title as champion of The Rock Of Eternity back to me, NOW!"
"Who is this guy?" said Ronnie Anne.
"Black…Adam," Lincoln replied.
Ronnie Anne became angry as she flew up to confront Lincoln's attacker despite his warnings not to. Black Adam was more surprised than worried, not expecting another champion.
"I wasn't expecting another champion, let alone a woman, although your uniform is provocative,"
"I didn't ask for your opinion; what did you do to my friend?"
"The fool refused to return what is mine, so he needed to learn to–"
Black Adam was cut off when Ronnie Anne delivered a straight, knocking him across the city. Lincoln helplessly watched as Ronnie Anne flew after him.
"Get up Loud!" Lincoln groaned.
"Impressive, that blow actually hurt," Black Adam noted, rubbing his jaw.
"More is coming, jerk," Ronnie Anne warned, cracking her knuckles.
Ronnie Anne and Blac Adam began trading blows. However, Black Adam was gaining the upper hand despite the damage she was inflicting.
"You may not have wasted your energy like that fool, but you're still no match for me."
Black Adam then punched Ronnie Anne into a nearby building, embedding her in it; as he was about to fly into her, he was blasted from above by Firestorm, sending him crashing into the street.
"Ronnie Anne, what's happening? Who is that?" Firestorm asked, freeing Ronnie Anne
"You guys need to get out of here before he—"
Suddenly, a lightning blast struck Ronnie Anne from below, sending her upward. Enraged, Firestorm flew down to engage Black Adam.
"Nobody hits my little sister and gets away with it!" yelled Bobby.
Bobby had never been in a fight before, and despite his nerdy and mama's boy traits, Carlos had his share of fights outside of Maria due to bullies mistaking him for an easy target. Firestorm began clashing with Black Adam, the two knocking each other around the city. Firestorm used all their power to land heavy blows, angering Black Adam. Waiting for his moment as Firestorm came in for another strike, Black Adam managed to grab Firestorm by the wrists and began pulling them apart.
"Let go!" they yelled.
"You're going to be the first example I make."
Black Adam pulled Firestorm apart; instead of a corpse ripped in half, Firestorm defused back into Bobby and Carlos.
"What sorcery is this!?"
"Get away from them!" yelled Lori, flying in to tackle Black Adam and forcing him to drop Bobby and Carlos.
Bobby and Carlos grabbed each other and combined back into Firestorm as Ronnie Anne and the other Loud sisters flew past them.
"You messed with the wrong people, buddy!" Lori said, punching Black Adam.
"Another Champion? And you're more obscene than the last one,"
Suddenly, the rest of the Loud sisters began flying in from multiple directions, striking Black Adam. Black Adam was now overwhelmed, fighting against 11 champions and Firestorm. However, he soon receives a surprise uppercut from Lincoln, who finally gains enough strength to return to the fight and makes it 12 champions. Just Black Adam was about to counter an Egyptian ankh that appeared to be trapping him against it as if he were being crucified.
"Nabu!" he growled.
Suddenly, Dr. Fate appeared and stood among the others surrounding Black Adam.
"Nabu, my old friend, the last time I saw you, I ripped out your heart!"
"I've been reborn as something far greater, old friend,"
"No doubt the work of the Lords of Order," Black Adam scoffed before facing Lincoln. "This is your final warning, boy; return my title to me now, and the rest of your champions, swear your allegiance to me if you wish to survive."
"Is that supposed to be a joke? Because it's not funny," Luan said.
"Why would we do that? Jerk," Lola asked.
"In case you didn't realize it, it's literally 14 against 1."
The others agreed on why Lincoln stayed silent.
"Very well, you've earned my respect but squandered my Mercy!"
Black Adam began trying to escape, causing Dr. Fate to struggle to restrain him.
"Surrender, Teth-Adam, you are clearly outnumbered," Dr. Fate said.
"That may be, but you are all clearly…outmatched!"
"Everyone, get back! We can't hold them any longer!" yelled Dr. Fate in a female voice.
"That voice, dude, was that?!" Luna thought.
Suddenly, Black Adam broke free, tackling Lincoln and dragging him into the sky.
"What happens from now on is on your head, boy!"
"Get off him!" roared Ronnie Anne, blasting Black Adam in the back.
Using the distraction, Lincoln broke free, punching Black Adam in the face, but he quickly retaliated by punching Lincoln in the stomach and backhanding Ronnie Anne, sending them flying. The Loud sisters flew in, but each of them was knocked aside.
"You fools, I've been the champion much longer than any of you; I've tapped into levels of strength you've only dreamed of!"
Black Adam began to destroy everyone, knocking them down one by one in a systematic manner. However, once he was about to reach Lily, Dr. Fate restrained him again.
"Your little trick won't work on me again, Nabu!"
Black Adam broke free and flew with lightning speed, grabbing Fate by the neck.
"Let's see who's under that helm,"
"No, don't!" Fate said in a female voice.
Yanking off the helmet, he unleashed a flash, and to everyone's shock, the person Black Adam had his hand around was Sam.
"A child?!" Black Adam said, shocked.
"Sam!?" Everyone was shocked, especially Luna, who realized Fate was her ex-girlfriend.
Sam struggled to reclaim her helmet, which was in Black Adam's other hand.
"Now I see, the Lords of order bound your soul to your helmet; you may have become more powerful than before, my old friend, but that power is meaningless without a human vessel to wear your helm."
Black Adam's grip tightened on Sam's neck, causing her to gasp for air.
"What are you doing!? Stop this madness, Teth-Adam!" Said Nabu.
"Normally, I'd just snap her neck, but I want you to helplessly watch as your precious vessel's life is slowly drained from her body, old friend,"
"No!"
Luna saw Sam in danger, and something inside her snapped. She began radiating lightning before flying towards Black Adam like an electric missile.
"Let her go!"
Before he could react, Luna slammed into his back, being the first to land a devastating blow. Black Adam, screaming in pain, released Sam and Nabu before being sent flying. Luna grabbed Sam and Nabu, bringing them to safety on a roof, while Sam coughed and gasped for air.
"Sam—I mean, ma'am, are you okay!?"
"You don't have to pretend (cough), Luna. I know it's you, just like I know Lincoln is Shazam."
"What, how?"
"Now is not the time," Sam said, putting her helmet back on and transforming into Dr. Fate. "But thank you for saving us," Dr. Fate said.
Luna nodded before the two rocketed back into the sky to reach you in the fight. Everyone continued trying to harm Black Adam, but he continued being unstoppable. He fights with blind fury, not caring where he hits his opponents as long as he hits them, going as far as punching Lori in her breast, stunning her. Then, he knocked Firestorm aside when they tried to retaliate. When Lincoln tried to attack, Black Adam trapped him in a bear hug. As he began squeezing Lincoln, trying to break his back, however, Lincoln, in a desperate move, bit into Black Adam's shoulder, making him scream in pain, as Lincoln tore into his flesh, shocking everyone.
"Linky?" Lily said.
"You wretched bastard!" Black Adam yelled, knocking Lincoln back, before using his lightning to cauterize the wound.
"Dude!" Ronnie Anne said, watching Lincoln spit out blood and flesh.
"Take him down!"
Everyone charged Black Adam, who was still tending his wound. However, his anger began to rise as lightning pulsed from his body.
"ENOUGH!" he yelled, unleashing a massive lightning blast that hit everyone, sending them crashing to the ground and creating a gigantic crater just outside Great Lake City.
Black Adam flew down, ready to continue the fight; however, what he found shocked him. His opponents were all out cold and defeated. Firestorm had reverted into Carlos and Bobby, Dr. Fate was unconscious and the helmet cracked, the Louds and Ronnie Anne had reverted to their mortal forms, and Lily was the only semi-conscious one as she looked up at a shocked Black Adam before passing out, too.
"Children? They're all children!?"
Black Adam seemingly hesitated momentarily before raising his hand to create an electrical blast to end them. Suddenly, a large lightning bolt came crashing down, hitting the crater. When the flash disappeared, to Black Adam's anger, and everyone was gone, beyond his reach.
"The Wizard!" Black Adam thought before flying off, leaving the destruction he caused behind.
The Rock of Eternity
Everyone started waking up groaning in pain from the beating they took.
"Lori? What happened?"
"We lost Leni, we lost badly,"
"Who was that dude, and how is he like us?" Luna asked.
"He's not just like us, he's stronger than us," Lisa said.
"His name is Black Adam, and this is my fault, it's all my fault!" Yelled Lincoln.
Everyone turned to see, in great physical and mental pain. As Ronnie Anne attempted to approach him, he started laughing hysterically.
"Lincoln, are you okay?" Ronnie Anne asked, despite knowing it was the dumbest question she had ever asked in her life.
"Oh, I'm great Ronnie Anne, my best friend whom I reconciled with recently is dead because he took a bullet that was meant for me, I tortured his murderer by stopping and restarting his heart before crushing his hand after he told me who hired him to kill me, I confronted the man who was behind all of it, who blames me for his downfall and threatened to kill me and the rest of my family while still somehow making a pass about my mom, I tried to kill him with all my energy, only for it too get absorbed by some randoms sarcophagus and unleashed a monster that just pummeled us all into the ground, oh I am peachy, hahaha, oh, what a day!"
Lincoln continued laughing, wiping the blood on his face until it resembled a smile around his mouth; however, slowly his laughter shifted into sobbing as he dropped to his knees, the weight of everything crashing down on him.
Ronnie Anne rushed to him, hugging her friend, followed by Luna and the rest of her sisters.
"It's alright, bro, let it out, we're here," Luna said.
Bobby and Carlos watched from a distance, along with Sam who removed her helmet watching Lincoln being comforted by his family, has she looked at Luna he was humming a song she used to hum for Lincoln to calm him as a baby, in that moment she didn't see the girl that broke her heart, but the girl who stole her heart.
Later
After Lincoln cried himself to sleep, he was taken home, and the younger sisters decided to stay; Ronnie Anne wanted to stay, but Carlos convinced her to stay at the rock to talk. Sam and Nabu left, stating they needed to prepare for the next battle.
"Guys, now that we have a moment to think and breathe, maybe we should come up with some way to figure out how to beat Baldy McBadGuy." Luan offered.
"Like what? Hit him even harder than we already were?" Lori asked. "Face it, we're in trouble, and after everything Lincoln's been through today, I don't think he'll be in fighting shape for a while."
"We're outmatched and outgunned, and we don't even know anything about him besides his name," Lynn said.
"But we know someone who does," Ronnie Anne stated, igniting the brazier and summoning the wizard.
"I sense his return. Tell me everything,"
The group went into detail about today's events. While the wizard seemed remorseful about Lincoln's trauma, he also dreaded the force of nature he had accidentally unleashed.
"I always feared Adam would return someday; I just wish it happened when you all were a little older and more seasoned with your abilities."
"Please, is there a way we can find this guy?" Luan asked.
"He will seek you out, he can't sense your mortal forms, a failsafe the Rock of Eternity created that activated if he was ever released, but he may try to draw you out.
"Tell us literally everything about him."
"Very well," the wizard said, instructing everyone to examine the historama. "Long ago in ancient Egypt, the monster you know as Black Adam was once a man known as Teth-Adam. In many ways, he was similar to your father."
"Highly emotional and prone to crying? Hahaha, get it?" Luan jokes, getting a hard look from everyone. "Sorry, that was my coping mechanism talking," she apologized.
"He was a loving father and husband, with a family similar to yours, numerous sons and daughters, with his youngest being a girl the same age as your sister Lily," the wizard explained. "Along with his brother's family, he was a man who was happy and content with life, until the monster Ibac invaded his village,"
"Ibac?" Everyone replied.
"A barbaric monster of a man who once commanded a vast army he used to plunder and pillage kingdoms and villages, Adam's village being one of many victims of his evil, in the span of one night everything Adam had and knew was wiped out his family was gone and he was the lone survivor in his family of Ibac's onslaught,"
Everyone was deeply uncomfortable watching the dark side of history unfold before them.
"Adam and the survivors were enslaved and used as labor to build Ibac's empire, for two years he worked as a slave until he eventually managed to escape but not before receiving a fatal wound, as he laid dying he cried out for justice for all the innocents that Ibac killed, a cry my siblings and I heard,"
"I can see where this is going," thought Ronnie Anne.
"From The Rock of Eternity, we reached out to him. He told us everything that had happened and begged us to help his people who were still enslaved. Seeing the nobility in his heart, we offered him the power to save people himself—we offered the power of Shazam."
"That explains where his powers came from," Ronnie Anne said.
"True, but like you, Ronnie Anne, he draws his power from 6 deities different from the Loud family, in his circumstances, ancient Egyptian deities. Shu, Horus, Amun, Zehuti, Aten and Mehen,"
"Tell us more," Lori asked.
"With his new powers, he became The Mighty Adam, defeated Ibac, and freed his slave. Grateful, Ibac's kingdom was renamed Kahndaq after his former village, and he was deemed king, a role he reluctantly accepted."
"What happened next?"
"Kahndaq flourished under his rule, he was just and noble King, but despite his Royal duties, he continued to protect the world as the champion of magic, even befriending a man named Nabu, a sorcerer who the Lords recognized of order, he was truly mighty," the wizard spoke in a tone that was both admiration and sadness.
"But it didn't last; did it, dude?"
"No, his mortal body still carried that fatal wound, forcing him to remain in his empowered state, stay alive and healthy, while the people around him continue to grow old and eventually die; our biggest mistake was not noticing these changes in him sooner, but eventually we did."
"What did you notice?"
"His methods became more brutal, he showed less mercy to his enemies, and the people began to fear him rather than respect him," the wizard continues. "We try to intervene to make him see what he was becoming and to bring back the man he once was, but he refused to listen, believing himself to be a god now, lost his mind completely when Nabu accused him of becoming the person he hated most, Ibac."
"I totes see where this went,"
"He killed Nabu, unleashed the sins, and started a decade-long battle with my siblings, who died one by one trying to stop him and the sins, and so I was able to seal them both away, but lost my family in the process."
"He lost himself," Carlos said.
"What do you mean, Tio Carlos?" Bobby asked.
"Think about it, he lost his family, as human identity, the only people who remembered the man he was, all died," Carlos explained. "Teth-Adam was the core of Mighty Adam, kept alive by the people who remembered the man within the champion, who reminded him of who he was, and when they died, Teth-Adam died inside of Mighty Adam, and without Teth-Adam's influence inside of Mighty Adam, you're left with..."
"Black Adam," Lincoln said.
Everyone turned to see Lincoln standing in the doorway. He had been calmer since his earlier breakdown, but everyone could see the hatred in his eyes and the desire for revenge.
"Lincoln, we were."
"I heard everything, Lori, but Black Adam can wait; my main target is Sivana."
"Dude, a monster is out there with our powers and way more experience. I know you're hurting, but we need to stop him before things get any worse," Luna reasons.
"Everything that's happened today is because of that screwing a little twerk, and he's not going to stop, he knows who we are and where we live," Lincoln argued. "He's even lusting after mom, he won't stop, either going to have to bring him in or take him out,"
"Lincoln, are you really willing to kill this guy? I know he deserves it for what he did to Clyde, but do you really want blood on your hands?"
"Clyde's blood is already on my hands; what's a little more?"
Everyone could see that Lincoln was not in his right State of mind. A blood lust for revenge had awoken inside him, and it wouldn't go away until he satisfied it.
"Look, I'm going after him. Whether you prove it or not, you guys can either help me or stay out of my way!" Lincoln said.
Luna could see the rage in Lincoln's eyes. She knew it all too well; it was the same rage she felt when she thought her brother and now ex-girlfriend betrayed her. There was a crucial difference between the two: Her anger was unjustified, while his rage was.
"Lincoln, look, I know we can't stop you, and I'm the last person here that should be telling you not to let your anger get the best of you, but all I can ask little bro is not to make the same mistake I did, Clyde wouldn't want you to go down this path,"
"Clyde isn't here anymore, Luna, because of him."
"Then honor your best friend's memory, but do not kill that bastard, make him face the consequences of his actions by bringing him in, Justice, not vengeance."
Lincoln took a deep breath, seemingly taking in Luna's words before walking off.
"This trial will be Lincoln's greatest test. Will he rise above his desire for revenge, or will history repeat itself?" the wizard thought as he faded away.
Kahndaq
Returning to his kingdom, Black Adam walked around the ruin, remembering that, to him, his kingdom was a thriving paradise. Under his strict rule, Kahndaq flourished; now, it was sand in the wind. The more he walked, the more his anger and hatred for the wizard grew. He blamed him for his kingdom's downfall.
"Damn them all!"
Suddenly, he heard a sound coming from the kingdom's square; when he arrived, he saw the contraption he had let escape earlier land, and Dr. Sivana stepped out.
"I figured I'd find you here, Black Adam."
"What business do you have with me?"
"I wish to thank you for saving me from that fake champion."
"Begone, you have nothing to offer me, I've already lost everything."
"What if I told you there was a way to undo all of this? And you can restore your kingdom to its former glory?"
Black Adam turned to Sivana, who had a smug grin. However, his smug grin disappeared when Black Adam grabbed his shirt and lifted him to his face.
"Tell me more!" he said in a threatening tone.
