Chapter 6

Monday morning came quickly and Olivia was back at the precinct, looking at the board her team had set up. She was hoping that they had something to help direct the case. They had still been unable to alert anyone in Rachel's family about her passing. Given what sounded like a contentious relationship, maybe no one back in Ohio would care about what had happened. She'd seen it before and it saddened her; no matter how many times she'd seen it.

"Hey Liv," Rollins' voice jolted Olivia from her thoughts.

"Hey, you and Bruno talk to the therapist?" The Captain wanted to know.

"Doctor Fishburne was reluctant to breach confidentiality. However, when I explained that it might help us determine if Rachel committed suicide or was murdered, he promised to come down to the station this morning," the blonde explained.

"We could have come to him," Olivia was a little surprised.

"He insisted, so I'm guessing that he didn't want his other patients to seeing cops at his office," Amanda admitted. The Captain nodded and she noticed other members of the team trickling into the bull pen.

"How about Charlotte's prints?" Olivia asked.

"She willingly gave them up and forensics is checking them against the ones they picked up," Fin gave her a smile.

"Good and how did she meet Rachel?" She wanted to know.

"Charlotte explained that one day she was getting her mail when Rachel went to get her mail. Rachel asked if she'd known the previous tenant in her apartment as she kept getting mail for them. Charlotte admitted that she did not but told her how to mark the envelopes 'Return to Sender'. Rachel admitted that she didn't know where the local post office was and Charlotte offered to show her. On their walk to the post office, they made small talk and hit it off. They both came from smaller cities and were trying to make something of themselves here," he explained.

"So, nothing nefarious?" Olivia figured.

"Charlotte has no criminal record," Velasco piped up.

"Ok, so while Rollins and Bruno talk to Doctor Fishburne, I want someone checking in with Melinda. Captain Curry, need any assistance with finding Rachel's family?" The Captain looked to her colleague's way.

"I could use some help. Rachel had no social media, but her driver's license was still from Ohio. I looked up the address listed on it, and it would seem to be her former residence. So, I'm making a call to the local cops for help. If someone could call City Hall, that would be great," Curry explained.

"I'll call City Hall for you," Velasco offered.

"Captain Benson," it was the Desk Sergeant from his desk.

"Yes, Buckley?" Olivia asked as she moved over to him.

"Doctor Fishburne," the officer made the introduction.

"Very good to meet you, Doctor. Let's head into my office with Detectives Rollins and Bruno," Olivia smiled and noted that the African American man carried a briefcase. She hoped there were files in there they could use.

"Good to meet you, Captain. I do wish it were under better circumstances," he said as they all headed into her office.

"I agree," Olivia said as Bruno closed the door behind them. They all quickly took seats at Olivia's desk.

"Detective Rollins said on the phone yesterday that you weren't sure if Rachel had committed suicide?" Fishburne asked.

"Rachel jumped off the fire escape and regrettably the fall killed her. The problem is, we found no signs of forced entry. We found no evidence of anyone else in the apartment. A neighbor called it in because she heard screams. We need to know more about the medicine you prescribed and if Rachel would harm herself," the Captain laid it out.

"Rachel was dealing with a lot and as much as I dislike breaching confidentiality, I really think that you need the full story," Fishburne gave a tight smile.
