I DO NOT OWN TOTAL DRAMA (or mha)

CHET

Chet was in a bad mood. He was sitting in his basement, playing Call of Duty and had the volume up very high. His dad had told him that his new stepmom and step brother would be moving in today. His dad wanted Chet to meet them all out on the front lawn to say hello, but there was no way Chet was going to do that. He didn't want to meet some random lady that was going to replace his own mom, least of all a guy who he had to share everything with in the house.

His focus was interrupted when someone opened the door to the basement. He glanced to the side and saw, coming down the stairs, was his new stepbrother Lorenzo. He's only met the guy a couple of times, one of which was their parents' wedding. But even then, the two of them hardly interacted with each other. Right now, the two stared at each other with disdain.

"What's up fart face." Lorenzo said, crossing his arms. "Looks like we're going to be living together."

"Looks like it, butt stain." Chet said, turning back to the TV and resuming his game. Lorenzo took a seat on the couch, glaring at Chet sitting on the floor and back against the couch. Since Chet was facing away from Lorenzo, he didn't see the glare so the two just sat in silence.

"Just so you know, Chat." Lorenzo said mockingly. "This doesn't change anything. I hate you and will never consider you my brother, or even my friend."

"Works for me, Lorelameo." Chet mocked with a smirk, glancing to the side. "I was going to say the same thing to you. Except I was going to add that your dad is just a random replacement."

"Oh yeah, well your mom is a random replacement!" Lorenzo pointed at Chet, then looked around the room. "Where's the other controller? I want to play one on one and beat you at one of these games."

"Too bad loser, the other controller is missing." Chet smug looks annoyed Lorenzo.

"Well where is it?"

"Uh, do you not know what missing means? It means I can't find it, genius."

"Fine, then give me yours." Lorenzo tried reaching over for Chet's controller. "I just got here, I deserve a turn now."

"No way, I haven't finished yet. You can have it when I'm done." Chet said, shoving Lorenzo off. With the push of a button, Chet felt smug at his victory. "And I'm done, here you go, loser."

Lorenzo snatched the controller from Chet and started a new game.

"I'm definitely beating your score, momma's boy." Lorenzo said, concentrating on the screen.

"Whatever you say." Chet rolled his eyes, which rolled in the back of his head for one second and then returned to normal. But he never noticed as he closed his eyes, put his hands behind his head, and lied back against the couch while still resting on the floor. Despite Lorenzo's loud gaming and moving around on the couch, Chet remained completely still, unbothered by it all. He almost moved when he thought he heard a click or something. He decided not to think about it, probably Lorenzo messing with something.

A few minutes later, Lorenzo was done and he stood up, tossing the controller on the couch.

"Aw yeah, made it to a higher round baby." Lorenzo then pointed at Chet. "In your face, sloth. I'm way better at this than you."

Lorenzo's victory expression was cut short when he noticed that Chet was still ignoring me, pretending to be asleep through it all. That smirk on Chet's face made Lorenzo mad.

"Hey, don't ignore me." Lorenzo raised his foot and tried kicking Chet in the head. But the second his foot made contact, Chet heard a crunching sound followed up by a scream. Chet opened his eyes and saw Lorenzo clutching his foot while hoping.

"What happened to you?" Chet asked.

"You tricked me or something." Lorenzo said, trying to walk off the pain. "Were you wearing some kind of headgear or something."

"Headgear? You're either blind or stupid or both. You see any headgear on me, dumbo?"

"Hey, who are you calling dumbo, dumbo." Lorenzo pointed an accusing finger at Chet. "Besides, how did you make your head so hard? It felt like I was kicking a brick wall."

"Pssh, I don't know what you're talking about." Chet got off the floor and stood in front of Lorenzo, crossing our arms. "Do I look like a brick wall to you?"

"Ha, you really want me to answer that."

Chet didn't move, he just glared at Lorenzo and then heard that click again, but he ignored it.

"You know what, your brain might actually be a brick wall, brick for brains." Lorenzo laughed, giving Chet a shove. But instead of Chet pushed back, Lorenzo was the one who fell on his back and clutching his hand. This surprised Chet as he felt concerned at first, then confused, and then laughed in a matter of seconds. Lorenzo quickly stood up and looked at Chet in shock.

"How did you do that?" Lorenzo pointed at Chet. "Are you some kind of alien or robot, or even an alien robot?"

"You kidding, no." Chet held his arms out. "I'm completely human. You're probably just weak, try again. Unless you're too chicken."

Lorenzo glared at him and gave him another hard shove, this time Chet did hit the floor.

"Okay, so that worked. Then why did it hurt the first two times, you must've done something."

"I'm telling you, I didn't do anything." Chet argued, getting back up. "I just stood here and-"

Chet stopped himself, then thought about the clicking sound he heard both times. He had an idea. He looked at Lorenzo and pointed at the bat in the corner.

"Hit me with that bat." Chet said, closing his eyes and standing still like before. As expected, he heard the click. Lorenzo smirked.

"My pleasure." Lorenzo picked up the bat and swung it at Chet hard. What happened next shocked Lorenzo because the top part of the bat broke off. Chet opened his eyes and stared at the broken pointy bat with Lorenzo. They then look at each other surprised, not having the words.
