Hi all,

Here's the next chapter. The quidditch match has an exciting conclusion.

Chapter 72

The Quidditch match swiftly shifted in Gryffindor's favour as they surged ahead with a score of 60-20. The standardised broomstick rule laid bare Slytherin's lack of skill compared to the Gryffindors, who were well-prepared thanks to Oliver. Slytherin's reliance on superior brooms and aggressive tactics was no match for Gryffindor's strategic gameplay and superior flying.

As Harry continued his search for the Snitch, Draco shadowed his every move, showing no interest in seeking the Snitch himself. Harry considered luring Draco into a dangerous dive into the ground, but opted to wait for now. Oliver had instructed him not to catch the Snitch until they were at least a hundred points ahead. He wanted to make a statement to the other teams and take a significant lead in the standings.

A bludger hurtled towards Harry while he searched. He jerked his broom upward to brake, the vibrations coursing through the handle as he narrowly avoided the oncoming bludger, the ball whizzing past him in a blur. Fred swooped in, skillfully redirecting the bludger towards a Slytherin Chaser, who dodged the incoming threat. However, the distraction caused him to drop the Quaffle, creating a golden opportunity for Gryffindor to capitalize on.

Alicia seized the opportunity, deftly manoeuvring her Chasers towards the opposing goalposts. A clever fake-out caught the Keeper off guard, allowing her to score another goal for Gryffindor that increased their lead.

The Gryffindor fans leapt to their feet, their cheers ringing through the stadium as they rallied behind their team.

"Gryffindor surges ahead with a commanding lead!" Lee exclaimed. "They're outmanoeuvring the Slytherin team easily, making them appear as sluggish as trolls. Speaking of which, some of them do bear a striking resemblance—"

"Mr. Jordan!" Minerva interjected. "Keep your commentary impartial, or I shall consider finding a replacement for you."

Lee remained unfazed by her threat. "It appears the Slytherin team is altering their strategy. Their Beaters are now focusing on targeting Harry Potter to create an opportunity for their lacklustre Seeker to catch the Snitch. It's a dishonourable move, but I can't say I'm surprised by the Slytherins' shameless tactics."

This time, Minerva refrained from reprimanding him, likely because her grandson was the one being targeted.

Harry noticed the Slytherin Beaters positioning themselves on either side of him, waiting for any incoming Bludgers. It was a clever tactic aimed at neutralising him. He acknowledged it as a legitimate move, contrary to Lee's opinion. Draco appeared to be the mastermind behind the strategy, evident from his animated gestures and commands, disregarding his captain completely.

"Fred! George!" Oliver bellowed. "Keep those Beaters away from Harry. Since they're not targeting our Chasers, we need you to shield him instead."

The twins gave a quick nod of understanding.

"I don't need you to babysit me," Harry called out. "I can handle these guys on my own."

An idea sparked in Harry's mind as he spotted the other Beater gearing up to launch another bludger his way. He executed a flawless three-sixty roll and ended up positioned behind Draco.

"What do you think you're up to, Potter?" Draco veered away to create some space but Harry stuck to him like glue.

"Using you as my shield," Harry said. "Who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky and one of your boyfriends will accidentally hit you instead."

Draco's eyes blazed with anger, causing Harry to flinch in surprise. Before he could react, Draco swiftly reached into his pocket and withdrew something clenched his fist. Harry instinctively shielded his face as Draco hurled something at him, inadvertently inhaling some of it into his lungs. A searing pain gripped his chest, the burning sensation spreading rapidly.

The realisation dawned on Harry—Draco had poisoned him.

As the effects of the poison took hold, Harry's broom began to slow down. Laboured breaths and blurred vision made it increasingly difficult to maintain control. Despite the panic rising within him, Harry focused on steadying his broom. He knew whatever Draco had thrown at him was potent enough to potentially cause him to plummet from the sky.

As seconds stretched into what felt like an eternity, Harry's symptoms intensified, his chest constricted and his head spinning dangerously, threatening to plunge him into unconsciousness. He coughed repeatedly, attempting to expel the toxic substance from his lungs.

"What's wrong, Potter?" Draco's taunting voice pierced through the haze. "Struggling to keep up with me?"

Ignoring Draco's taunts, Harry's senses heightened, and a feeling of danger warned him of impending danger just as a shout reached his ears. He quickly veered his broom sideways, feeling a grazing impact from a bludger that sent a sharp jolt of pain rippling through his side. While his quick manoeuvre saved him from serious injury, the abrupt change in direction caused him to collide with something.

"What in the bloody hell, Potter?" Draco cursed, nearly losing his balance on the broom due to the collision. Draco quickly flew away, realising he needed to distance himself from Harry before becoming entangled in the chaos.

Gabrielle was the first person in the stands to notice the danger. "Harry's in trouble!"

A wave of concern rippled through his friends as they rose to their feet, their eyes fixed on Harry's erratic flight path.

Daphne's brow furrowed with concern. "He's flying like he's drunk. Something's gone wrong up there."

Sirius gripped Lauren's hand tightly. "Did anyone see what happened?"

"No," Susan interjected, her expression steely. "But if Draco's behind this, I'll make him pay."

"We'll sort it out later," Charlus said, brandishing his wand. "If he falls, I'll be there to catch him."

"Malfoy cheated!" Lee roared. "I saw him throw something at Potter."

Madam Hooch's hand hovered near the whistle, her expression tense with indecision. However, she ultimately refrained from blowing it, a flicker of doubt crossing her features. She couldn't fully trust Lee's accusations, knowing of his strong bias against the Slytherins.

Tensions in the stands escalated as Lee's accusations of foul play by the Slytherins incited an uproar among the spectators. They rose to their feet, with almost everyone rallying behind Harry, except for the Slytherin supporters, who mostly remained silent.

After a harrowing minute, Harry felt the worst of the effects subside. His breathing steadied and his vision cleared slightly as he regained control of his broom.

"Harry! Are you okay?" One of the twins called out, flying up to him.

"What happened?" The other twin arrived.

Harry blinked. "I can't tell you two apart. You're both too blurry right now."

"What!?"

Harry scowled. "Draco threw some powder at me. I inhaled it, and it nearly caused me to fall off my broom."

"Bloody bastard," Fred growled, or at least Harry thought it was Fred.

"What's the plan?" George asked.

"Give him hell while I search for the Snitch," Harry declared, determination flashing in his eyes. "I don't care what Oliver says; I'm finishing this game as soon as possible."

The twins nodded before they zipped off. Harry took a moment to steady himself before he resumed his flight. Surveying the scene below, he watched the twins cause mayhem for Draco with the Bludgers. The trolls weren't able to keep up with the twins and save their Seeker.

The game continued despite Harry's incident, the score was now 100-30 in Gryffindor's favour. Harry's focus became sharper as he sought to end the match. Due to the unknown substance he had inhaled, he wanted to finish as soon as possible.

Just then, as if in response to Harry's determination, the Snitch appeared before him, causing a rush of adrenaline as he raced after it. Reaching out to grab the elusive golden ball, which danced just out of reach, sending him on a thrilling chase through the sky to the Slytherin goalposts.

"Potter spots the Snitch! Malfoy can't chase him because he's preoccupied with the twins' brutal tactics," Lee's voice echoed across the pitch. "He's getting his just deserts."

A Slytherin player swooped towards Harry, attempting to unseat him by crashing into him.

Harry swung upside down, gripping the broom tightly as the Slytherin player flew above him. With a quick twist, he straightened himself and noticed the Snitch hovering near a goalpost. Ignoring the Slytherin Keeper's shouts, Harry plunged into a steep dive, focusing on his target.

As the Snitch abruptly changed direction, darting towards the ground, Harry's proximity to the goalpost forced a split-second decision. Without hesitation, he steered his broom through the goalpost, narrowly avoiding a collision with the bottom edge. Harry's quick reflexes kicked in and he grabbed onto the post with one arm. For an instant, he hung suspended in mid-air before he propelled himself into a vertical dive, the rush of wind roaring past him. Despite the sharp pain in his arm, Harry remained resolute, his focus locked on the glint of gold below him.

"Potter pulls off a daring move in his pursuit of the Snitch!" Lee's voice boomed across the stadium, igniting a thunderous wave of applause from the spectators.

The Snitch hovered tantalisingly close to the ground, teasing Harry with its proximity. As he grew closer, Harry slowed his broom, then pulled his broom up sharply to slow his descent before he collided with the ground. He flew along the ground, the Snitch almost within his grasp, but it refused to remain still. It darted towards the stands and flew between a student's feet to hide itself in the hollow space under the stands.

Harry frowned. It seemed as though the Snitch was purposefully luring him into perilous manoeuvres, testing his skills and resolve to the limit. Undeterred, Harry steered his broom through a narrow gap between the stairs, following the Snitch into the shadowy depths beneath the stands.

The echoes of the crowd above reverberated through the narrow passageway as he followed the elusive Snitch, its golden glow flickering in the darkness ahead. Ducking and weaving through the maze of support beams and discarded debris, Harry's focus remained unwavering as he chased after the prize.

Suddenly, the Snitch darted out from a hidden alcove, taunting Harry with its swift movements. Harry pushed his broom to its limits, deftly manoeuvring through the cramped space as he closed in on his quarry.

A sinister smile played on Gilderoy's lips from his position in the stands. He discreetly pulled out his wand from his robes. The Quidditch match provided an ideal opportunity to cause an accident. Gilderoy was disappointed that Draco had failed to complete his task and knew he had to take action. Cursing the boy's broomstick would be too obvious, so he focused on the Snitch, hoping to lure Harry into a trap and eliminate him.

With a deft flick of his wand, Gilderoy cast a spell, ensuring his actions went unnoticed by others seated in the stands next to him.

The Snitch came to a halt in midair beneath the stands. Harry didn't slow down because he wasn't going to give it another chance to escape. Suddenly, a beam broke off and began falling directly in front of him. The realisation that he didn't have enough time to evade it caused his eyes to widen in fright. If he collided with the beam at this speed, the outcome could be fatal.

With instincts kicking in, Harry leapt off his broom and transformed into his demiguise form. He hurtled over the falling beam and caught the Snitch with his paws. His feet landed on the broom, which had somehow made it through the obstacle to continue flying straight ahead. He transformed back into his human form just before he emerged from beneath the stands.

The roar of the crowd accompanied Harry as he soared into the air. He remembered to raise his hand, showing that he had caught the Snitch.

"Potter has caught the Snitch!" Lee exclaimed. "What a daredevil! How did he avoid all the obstacles under the stands?"

His teammates rushed to support him as he descended to the ground, their elation at the victory tempered by concern for the injuries he had sustained. As he landed, he swayed, nearly falling over. Oliver swiftly caught him under the armpits, steadying him.

The rush of adrenaline had subsided, leaving behind a painful reminder of the injuries. The graze on his side from the bludger was minor, but the other injuries were more severe. His arm felt dislocated, and any attempt to move it caused shooting pain. His throat still felt raw, and despite his vision returning to normal, he was concerned about the powder he had ingested.

"Are you alright, Harry?" Angelina gently lifted his chin to inspect his face.

"Is that you, Fred?" Harry joked weakly. "Since when did your hair grow out?"

"Harry, be serious," Katie chided.

"He's Harry," Sirius interjected, appearing with Lauren by his side. "I'm Sirius."

"Who let the mutt in?" Harry coughed

"No one did," Sirius retorted. "I'm a free dog, not confined to a leash. Free to go anywhere, free to sniff any female—"

"Sirius!" Lauren admonished, slapping his shoulder.

Sirius winced. "There's animal control. It looks like I have been collared."

Lauren sighed. She waved her wand to conjure a chair for Harry, and Oliver helped him sit down.

They heard shouting. Marcus Flint dragged a protesting Draco across the ground, tossing him at Sirius' feet. "The little rat tried to sneak away. I won't tolerate my players deliberately endangering the opposition. We'll see if he's innocent or not."

"Bastard," Draco spat, glaring at Flint. "Wait until my—"

Sirius silenced him with a flick of his wand, sparing everyone his whining. "I appreciate it, Mr. Flint."

"Lord Black," Flint replied, bowing before departing.

Draco attempted to rise, but the twins swiftly restrained him.

His grandparents, Remus, and his friends rushed over to check on him. Everyone tried to speak over each other, which made it difficult to understand them.

"Harry, what happened?" Charlus asked, his voice cutting through the noise.

Everyone fell silent as he explained the incident, including the falling beam. But he didn't share the details about transforming into his demiguise form. When he finished, his throat felt hoarse and ablaze.

"He's lying," Draco hissed.

"Quiet, Mr. Malfoy," Minerva reprimanded. "Harry, we need to get you to the infirmary."

"I'm here, Minerva," Madam Pomfrey announced, striding across the grounds. She conjured a stretcher, and despite his protests, Charlus lifted him onto it.

Lee hurried over. "I was watching the game with omnioculars and saw the whole thing."

"Follow us, Mr. Jordan," Minerva said. "We need to get to the bottom of this."

6th November

Harry entered the vacant classroom, where his friends and Remus were waiting. Finally released from the infirmary with a clean bill of health, he was welcomed by Remus with a warm hug.

"Harry," Remus began, concerned. "Are you sure you're up for a lesson today? We can always reschedule for next weekend."

"I'm good," Harry reassured him. "Thanks for returning today to teach us."

His girlfriends approached him and showered him with affection. His mind went blank as he lost himself in their embrace and completely forgot about the lesson.

"Ahem," Remus cleared his throat. "Perhaps we should come back at a later time?"

"Don't mind them," Tracy said, laughing. "The girls are just making sure Harry is alright. And judging by his dazed expression, he seems more than fine."

"Is that a strategy to get a girl's affection?" Blaise teased. "Maybe I should get injured too for some special attention."

Tracy grinned mischievously.

Neville gave a hopeful glance at Padma, who simply rolled her eyes. "I'm not rewarding you for getting hurt on purpose."

"All right, let's get this lesson started," Remus said. "The Patronus Charm is not a simple spell to master. Let me tell you about its origins."

As Remus droned on, Harry allowed his mind to wander. He wanted to learn the spell, not get a history lesson.

A whirlwind of events had unfolded in the past twenty-four hours. Madam Pomfrey had tended to Harry's injuries—a dislocated shoulder and a minor laceration. The strange substance he had ingested had caused temporary discomfort but no lasting harm. It was a mixture of ingredients with irritant properties, but it wasn't intended to have long-term effects. However, because it took some time to identify and treat the substance, he had to stay in the infirmary overnight.

It didn't matter that the powder didn't cause any permanent damage, because it was more about where he ingested it. He could easily have fallen off the broom and died if he hadn't been such an excellent flyer.

Draco was suspended for two weeks and stripped of his Seeker position. It could have been worse, but there was some doubt about his guilt because of the lack of witnesses. Only Lee had witnessed the incident, and even with the omnioculars, he could have been mistaken for seeing Draco throw something in Harry's face. However, it appeared that half of the students at the game came forward and claimed to have witnessed the same thing. However, their accounts were too inconsistent to be credible.

Harry found it interesting that Lucius didn't come to the castle to argue his son's case. After the humiliation he suffered with the Board of Governors, he probably didn't want to show his face in the castle again.

Charlus investigated the incident involving the falling beam and discovered the beam had a massive crack, and the strain from the weight imposed on it could have caused it to snap. The timing was too suspicious to think that it was a mere accident. Unfortunately, too many people were watching the game, with many coming from outside the school. As a result, determining who was responsible would be nearly impossible.

In light of these incidents, Harry's friends urged him to share his discoveries about the Dementors with his grandparents. They were already aware of the potential origins of the Dementors, but proving it remained a challenging task. If there was someone behind all these incidents, then they were being careful to make them look like accidents.

His attention snapped back to the classroom when Daphne nudged him.

"The Patronus Charm is a shield against Dementors, representing positive emotions such as hope and happiness. It serves as a guardian, embodying the very qualities that a Dementor seeks to eradicate," Remus explained. "A patronus can take two forms: non-corporeal, like a wispy silver mist, and corporeal, with a distinct, tangible shape unique to the caster.

"The skill of the witch or wizard determines whether they are able to cast a corporeal or non-corporeal patronus. Each patronus is unique to the witch or wizard who conjures it, and in some cases, a patronus can change."

He paused, inviting questions.

Susan raised her hand. "Can a patronus be the same as their animagus form?"

Remus nodded. "It's possible, though not common. The only people I know who had matching forms were Harry's father, James, and his grandmother."

Harry felt a surge of emotion at the mention of his father. "Which animal represented my father?"

"A stag," Remus said, smiling as he reminisced. "James always complained that his animagus form had no practical application because it was too large and conspicuous. But your mother adored it because her patronus was a doe. They were inseparable."

Harry smiled when he heard how much his parents loved each other. It helped to alleviate the pain of their early deaths. At the very least, they got to spend a few years together. Some people can live for a hundred years and never discover the love they shared.

"The stag proves that your father was a great man," Gabrielle said, taking Harry's hand. "A stag is a powerful animal that symbolises strength, virility, and magic."

"Harry certainly possesses those qualities," Hannah joked. "He can fill me up with his magic anytime."

"Hannah!" Susan gasped.

The atmosphere immediately lightened, and everyone laughed at Hannah's crassness.

"Teenagers," Remus muttered. "All right, everyone, make some space for yourself. The incantation is Expecto Patronum. I want you to focus on a memory that makes you very happy. It must be something that makes you smile involuntarily every time you think about it. Allow the memory to fill your thoughts as you cast the spell."

Harry screwed up his face in thought. What was a good memory that he could summon that made him happy? It was harder than he imagined to come up with something.

Neville cast the spell first, and some mist appeared from the end of the wand. It didn't solidify into an actual shape, but it was impressive for his first go.

"That was amazing," Padma congratulated him, and the others echoed her sentiments. "May I ask what memory you used?"

Neville shrugged. "The moment I saw my mother, when she had been released from the curse afflicting her. I will never forget the smile she gave me at that moment."

"That's beautiful," Hannah said, sniffing. "I didn't know you could be so sensitive, Neville. I think I will give up on Harry and choose you instead."

"Over my dead body," Padma growled.

Neville's success gave Harry an idea. He drew inspiration from him and focused on the memory of his grandparents finding him in a moment of fear and loneliness, providing him with a sense of safety and family. Keeping the image front and centre in his mind, he pointed his wand and spoke the incantation.

A massive outpouring of mist erupted from his wand, almost taking shape before dispersing. Harry noticed a drain on his magic, surprised by how much the spell cost to cast.

"Congratulations," Remus said, clapping his hands. "Harry nearly conjured the corporeal patronus on his first attempt. Can you think of a stronger memory? I don't think you have a problem with your casting."

Harry tried several times with different memories but couldn't improve on his first attempt. His friends had varying degrees of success, with Neville, Gabrielle, and Susan performing the best after him.

"Alright, that is it for today," Remus said. "It looks like you are all going to collapse on the floor. I don't want you to end up in the infirmary with magical exhaustion."

"Harry looks fine," Hermione said, pouting.

Harry shrugged. His reserves were just under half full, so he could have kept going.

Remus sighed. "Don't compare yourself to others. You have all made incredible progress in just one lesson; if you practise hard enough, you should be able to master it in weeks or months. Harry, can you stick around?"

His friends exited the room, and Harry looked at Remus with curiosity. "What do you want to talk about?"

Remus's brow furrowed with concern. "Harry, I need you to push yourself to learn the Patronus Charm. If someone in the castle can create Dementors, they might try again."

"I was planning on doing it anyway," Harry said.

"How are your magical reserves? Can you estimate how much you have left?"

"About half."

Since returning to Hogwarts, his magical reserves have continued to increase rapidly. He didn't know the reason but assumed it was due to several factors. He suspected that his magical conduit had been affected, possibly due to the incident with Merlin.

Remus' eyes widened. "That is an impressive amount of magic for your age. I don't even know why I'm even surprised."

"I spend a lot of time practising my magic."

"I think it goes beyond that," Remus said. "But back to the topic at hand. Flitwick has strengthened the ward defences, but there are always vulnerabilities. There are far too many unused or hidden areas in the castle they fail to cover. For example, the deathday party ballroom lacked security because the living rarely visit there."

"Lucky me."

"I want you to practise the Patronus Charm every day after classes from now on," Remus told him. "Just be careful and don't take it too far."

12th November

It was a Saturday morning, and Harry was holed up in his workshop, determined to get some work done on the protective clothing for his grandfather. He got the design for the outfit from his crafting book, which had finally levelled up after he made more of its recipes. The next level significantly increased the number of recipes available, including more complex and varied designs.

It had taken him a lot of effort to soften the basilisk hide to a state where it was malleable enough to cut and shape. He had brought a bathtub and soaked the hide in a mixture of water and a softening potion. Hopefully, if he did it correctly, the hide would retain all its magical resistance properties.

After measuring each piece, he carefully cut the leather with a sharp knife, paying attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and clean edges. He felt sweat bead on his brow because the hide was so valuable.

A strong pungent odour filled his nostrils, the result of the potion he had been using to soften the basilisk hide. After cutting out all of the pieces for one outfit, he rested for a moment before moving on to the next step.

Harry planned to make one outfit for his grandfather first, to see how he liked it before making the others. It would kill him if he made all of the outfits only to find out later that there was a flaw and he had wasted his time and valuable materials.

He took out his drawing pad and pencil and began sketching a design on the paper. Thinking about making clothes for his grandfather gave him an idea for a new project. If he were to pull it off, it would significantly increase his combat capability while also providing him with some protection.

Harry looked up when Daphne appeared in the doorway.

"I have more potions," Daphne said, placing the vials on the table. She wrinkled her nose when she caught a whiff of the odour in the room. "The ventilation isn't working effectively at removing the smell."

"You get used to it," Harry said, reaching for her waist and pulling her close.

Daphne sat down on his lap, and he felt her bottom press against his groin, eliciting a predictable reaction. She turned her head and smirked at him, prompting him to kiss her. She leaned in and opened her mouth, flicking her tongue against his lips until he opened his mouth, gently grabbed her tongue with his teeth, and sucked it.

Daphne groaned and squirmed in his lap. He grabbed her hips, stilling her. "Did you come here to seduce me?"

"I'm here to give you the potions," Daphne retorted. "You're the one that manhandled me."

"I don't see you complaining," Harry said, nipping her neck. "Thanks for the potion. Has Snape figured out what you are using all his ingredients for?"

"If he had, he hasn't said anything," Daphne sighed, tilting her head to allow him easier access to her neck. "Besides, you are giving him ingredients that are significantly more expensive, so he has nothing to complain about."

Harry yanked her shirt off her shoulder and pressed a kiss there, making her shudder. "I'm having a hard time resisting you girls. All of you are dangerously beautiful."

"Why are you resisting?" Daphne asked, raising her hips and rubbing her bottom against his arousal.

"Vixen," Harry said, groaning.

Harry reached around her and pulled her shirt from her waist. He placed his hands on her stomach and felt it tremble beneath his touch. His hands slowly slid up until they grazed the underside of her breasts, encased in a bra. Daphne moaned as he cupped and squeezed them roughly, shaping them with his hands.

"These are a good handful," Harry whispered into her ear. "But they would feel even better if there wasn't an obstruction in their way."

"Harry," Daphne gasped.

He pulled her bra over her breasts and palmed them with his hands. He nearly exploded in his pants from the sensation of her bare breasts against his hands. They were extremely soft and firm at the same time. He pinched her nipples, making her jerk in his lap.

"Did you like that?" Harry enquired, rolling the nipples around between his fingers. Her nipples hardened and thrust up against his palms. He grinned and kissed her nape. "I believe the lady likes it."

Daphne spun around in his lap, showing him an incredible view of her firm breasts, flushed pink with arousal. She buried her hands in his hair and proceeded to snog the daylights out of him. He grabbed her bottom and squeezed.

Things quickly escalated from there. Daphne pushed his shirt over his head, then ran her hands over his bare torso. She reached for his waist and paused when she noticed his arousal, standing up to attention. She grabbed it and gave it several experimental pumps.

Harry closed his eyes at the incredible feeling of her hands jerking him off. When she stopped and continued snogging him, he couldn't resist the temptation to reach out and unzip her jeans, revealing a pale band of blue. After inserting his hand into her jeans, he proceeded to rub her mound through her knickers. Daphne tilted her hips, silently pleading for more.

Harry could feel the incredible heat and wetness radiating from her centre. He wanted nothing more than to rip off her knickers and bury his fingers in her tightness.

Daphne groaned and pulled back. "If we are doing this, I want to do it in bed."

Harry nodded, willing to agree to anything if he could keep experiencing the pleasurable sensations. He rose and lifted her into his arms, carrying her out of the room and up the stairs to his bedroom.
