General Hospital

Holly walked into Jaynes room. Emma was doing her nails. "She's gonna love that."

Emma got up and hugged Holly. "I hope so. I also fixed her hair. I saw that hot guy that was in here. What's the story?" She asked.

Holly smiled at her granddaughter. "Oh, I think I'll let Jayne tell you that."

Emma nodded and looked at the time. "I need to go, but I'll be back. I love you both." Emma gave Holly and went over to gently hug Jayne.

"Love you too, darling." Holly went and sat down as Emma left. She took Jayne's hand in hers. "She's sweet, isn't she?"

JJ tapped on the door. "Can I come in?"

"Of course." Holly motioned to the seat on the other side.

JJ went and sat down. "I know I should go home now, but I just can't leave her. We wasted so much time."

Holly waved her hand. "I get it, more than you know. He father was in a coma for about a year over a decade ago, and I lived there, I'd go get cleaned up, but every moment I was there."

JJ appreciated her getting it. "I really do love your daughter."

"Do you mind me asking what happened?" Holly asked. She was curious what put an end to them before.

"Honestly. I don't know. I thought I was getting her to see how much I loved her and wanted a life with her, and then she ended it." JJ frowned.

Flashback to Jayne and JJ in their afterglow

JJ held Jayne close to him. It had been almost a year since they first met. He kept going off on missions but kept coming back to her. He couldn't stay away. This fling had turned into so much more. He knew he could wreck it by mentioning that, but he had to tell her how he felt. "Jayne?"

Jayne was listening to his heart beat, he was the first person to ever make her feel so safe and even loved, even though the two had agreed that's not what this was about. The fact he kept coming back meant everything to her. She looked up at him. "Yes?"

JJ got up the courage, looking into those brown eyes. "Do you ever think about us having a future together?" He asked.

The answer was yes, but Jayne was hesitant. She didn't want to hurt him.

JJ could see the worry in her eyes. "I know this was supposed to be a fling, but when I'm not with you, you are all I think about. I can't wait to get back home to you, share my stories, and make love all night. I'm in love with you." He told her.

Jayne could see the sincerity in his eyes. She wanted to protect him, but she was head over heels, too. "I want that, but..."

"No buts, let's just be us. Do you love me?" JJ asked her.

Jayne had tears coming down her eyes as she nodded. "Very much so."

JJ kissed her passionately.

End of Flashback

"I got her to see that we could have a future, then something convinced her otherwise." JJ hated that something tore them apart. He always suspected her family but never voiced it.

"Someone." Holly knew exactly who did it.

Jayne's Mind

Flashback to calling Alistair

"Father, he loves me, and I'm so happy." Jayne was so over the moon. She had never felt this much love, ever.

"Now, now, Jaynie. You know there's always a catch. Do you really want to hurt him or get hurt?" Alistair had a cold tone. He had always hoped they could talk her into conning, and this wasn't the way.

Jayne felt deflated, every bit of happiness gone with just a few words.

End of flashback

Holly could see tears coming out of Jayne's eyes. "I think she can definitely hear us." She wiped her eyes.

JJ stood up and kissed her forehead. "Nothing is going to keep us apart this time."

The doctor came in. "Mrs. Scorpio, we need to talk to you about your daughter." They were hesitant about speaking in front of JJ.

Holly looked over at JJ and then back at the doctor. "It's okay, he's family."

The two of them walked over to the doctor.

"The swelling is going down. We are going to start decreasing her medicine that's keeping her in the coma." The doctor told them. "She will still need to be careful and take it easy."

"Of course. She has a whole family at home waiting to help her, and she has family nearby that is also ready to help her too. She will definitely take it easy." Holly smiled at JJ. She knew between them all Jayne would be taken the best care of. "I need to call Robert."

PCPD

Robert was making it clear to Sonny's new lawyer that this thug wasn't walking this time. He was confident the case him and Chase built up would hold up. His phone rang, and he saw it was Holly. "I have got to take this."

"Go ahead, commish." Chase replied.

"Hey, luv. Is everything okay?" Robert was worried something went wrong with Jayne.

"Yes! The swelling is down. Please get down here soon. Eventually, she is going to be awake!" Holly was so excited that Robert couldn't help but light up.

"I'm on my way." He replied.
