Jayne had decided to go spend some time with Robin and her family, she was excited to get to know them better before they headed back home. Robert and Holly headed back to the townhouse, which was surprisingly empty.
"I wonder where everyone is?" Holly said as she was surprised to find it so quiet.
"Laura was going to have them come over and Ethan told me earlier he had something he was working on today. Was very secretive about it." Robert told her as he put his arms around her.
"Oh? Sounds a lot like his father." Holly put her arms around Robert's neck.
Robert chuckled. "Sounds a lot like you too."
Holly's eyes sparkled as she shrugged. "I guess we both have our moments. You know Robin asked about our wedding."
"I've been thinking a lot about it too." Robert admitted to her. He couldn't wait to be her husband again.
"So have I but like I told her in our hearts we've been married since that quick ceremony in the former mayor's office. I wear this ring with such pride." Holly smiled brightly as she looked at her ring. She loved what it stood for but of course that love didn't compare to the love she had for Robert.
Robert looked at the ring, remembering when he had found it and had it put away. When he thought he had lost her. His eyes were filled with sadness.
Holly noticed this and spoke up. "Hey, where did you go?" She asked him.
"I was just thinking of a time where...well honestly I didn't care to exist anymore." Robert was honest with Holly, they always were or at least tried to be.
"Robin mentioned how we were wanting our vow renewal for our fifth anniversary. Wouldn't that have been great? We would have had Ethan and Jayne there too." Holly's eyes were filled with sadness as she thought of what could have been.
"You know I always wondered what you were going to tell me that day, the day I left. I was so busy and I always regretted that I didn't stop and listen to you. That pain in your eyes haunted me." Robert told her, he knew right now they were reliving this and it would be the best time to get it all out there.
Holly's mind flashed back to that time, she was trying to figure out exactly what it was when it hit her. She had suspected she was pregnant but kept putting it off. "Robert..."
Robert sighed deeply as he spoke. "You were going to leave me weren't you?" He hated the thought but at the same time he wasn't being the best husband to her back then.
"Absolutely not, I needed to think but I also had a feeling that I was in fact expecting. When you didn't seem that interested I pushed it to the back of my mind. I couldn't take it if I hadn't been." Holly was honest with him. She knew how sad she had been being left alone. She understood when Robert went to help Robin, but when he was doing the WSB stuff it at times broke her heart.
Robert sighed and hung his head. "I wouldn't even stop and listen, I was just ready to go and then when I got that news..."
Holly lifted his chin. "I know that it's hard, really hard but we were pawns in the Cassadine games. We are always going to wonder what could have been but what matters now is what is. We love each other, we have three amazing children, three amazing grandchildren and so many friends."
Robert couldn't help but smile as he looked at this incredible woman who stood before him, her heart so filled with love for him and their family. "Do you know how much I love you?" He asked her.
Holly's face lit up as she nodded. "Completely."
Robert laughed and scooped her up. "I've got a surprise for you upstairs."
"Darling it's not really a surprise anymore." Holly gave him a cheeky grin.
Robert laughed as he carried her up the stairs. "I wasn't talking about that."
