Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Brainiac, Enchantress, and Horror-Show went to Plan B, which curiously began with them tactically retreating from the collection chamber. The heroes followed in hot pursuit, but Blaze was last to leave as she realized that the crushed Helm of Fate was one of the 13 objects needed to restore Dragnarok from Darkblood. Black Diamond was curious about the story with Blaze resolving to tell him once all this was over. Catching up to the villains, Brainiac shut the door in the heroes' faces. Superman, Supergirl, Spyro, and Cynder set to work breaking the door down as an army of Brainiac's drones descended on the room. Blaze and company fought them off, with Blaze finally realizing an answer she's sought for years as regards Batman. More on that another time. For now, we've got a battle to catch up on. So, how're things going? Read on to discover...
(Our scene begins within the room Brainiac sealed himself, Horror-Show, and Enchantress in, now revealed to be the bridge. And on the other side, they can already hear their adversaries beating the door down)
Horror-Show: No matter what alien alloy that door is made from, I doubt it'll last too long against two Kryptonians!
Brainiac: This material can withstand 25 supernovae before even cracking.
(This is the moment when Spyro and Cynder start hitting the door with Aether and Dark Aether, which Enchantress picks up on)
Enchantress: How many do you want to bet Aether can cover?
Brainiac: It does not matter. By the time I am finished here, they won't be able to do anything.
Horror-Show: A plan you still haven't felt fit to share with us!
Enchantress: If Grodd was to be believed, that's just the standard with this guy.
Horror-Show: Well you're running out of time, so you'd best start talking!
Brainiac: (Pulls up a control panel) This should give them all the motivation needed to not stop us.
Enchantress: That still doesn't answer what you're doing!
Brainiac: As you humans would put it, I am about to "blow them all to hell"
(With one tap of the control panel, Brainiac activates what the panel itself spells out as supposed to be phase two of his collection process. Outside the Skull Ship, several smaller red ships emerge from behind the Skull Ship itself and spread out across the planet, catching the attention of everyone fighting outside)
Flash: (Looking up) That cannot be good.
(Flashing away to the mountains of Mongolia, where Vandal Savage is watching this unfold)
Vandal Savage: The alien must be mad...
(Meanwhile in the Himalayas, Darkblood is looking up from the ceiling of the Nameless City, and sees the ships amassing)
Darkblood: (Forming a solid guess of what Brainiac is up to) That bastard...
(Soon enough, the red ships have spread out across the entirety of the planet, and right now, aren't doing anything. But back in the Skull Ship, it's clear Brainiac intends for that to not be the case forever)
Horror-Show: Is this guy crazy enough to do what I think he's about to do?
Enchantress: (To Brainiac) You better not be!
Brainiac: You asked for the plan that gives us a chance of success. And this is the only one. If your master is unable to survive this...
(Brainiac doesn't even get to finish that thought, as the door finally gives way, allowing the heroes to enter the bridge, an army of beaten Brainiac drones behind them)
Blaze: This ends here, Brainiac.
Brainiac: In more ways than one.
Superman: (Seeing the ships moving out around the planet out the front of the ship) What have you done?
Brainiac: My betas are taking position across this planet. (Gestures to the control panel) Once I activate this program, they will detonate in unison, burning the Earth's atmosphere, rendering this planet a barren moon.
Blaze: (To Enchantress) And you're willing to let him get away with this?!
Enchantress: (Summoning her magic) We may not agree on much, but on this much? We do!
Brainiac: As I had figured.
(With that, Brainiac connects to the Skull Ship and uses his tendrils to grab Enchantress and suspend her above the ground as Horror-Show looks on)
Enchantress: Don't just stand there you idiot, get me down!
Horror-Show: (Realizing the opportunity he has with Brainiac) And miss a chance to finally rid this world of these fleshy fools? Not a chance.
Enchantress: You traitor!
Brainiac: Finally, someone with sense. (To Blaze) I give you an ultimatum. Surrender the Kryptonians and the elder Dragons and leave us, and I will spare this world.
Belial Aether: And you honestly expect us to take you at your word?
Black Diamond: Not a chance.
Brainiac: Do not mistake my threats for a bluff.
Batman: You wouldn't, and we both know that. Your collection of this planet is far from complete.
Brainiac: And what makes you say that?
Batman: Because if it were, you would have dispatched your beta ships already. You don't want to destroy the Earth yet, because you don't have enough of it's knowledge collected.
(In this moment, Brainiac would certainly be sweating if he were actually able to. Brainiac's own program knows he cannot stop until he has collected all the knowledge of Earth, and this would cut his knowledge short. And Horror-Show? He notices this right away.)
Horror-Show: The fleshy fool is right about you. You won't do anything. But I will.
(With that, Horror-Show grabs Brainiac by the hand and forces him to press the button, only to reveal that when he does, there's a one hour timer until the beta ships detonate)
Horror-Show: (With a triumphant laugh) The age of the fleshed is almost at it's end! In one hour your planet will be nothing but a scorched ruin!
(And on that dramatic note, our scene ends for now)
And that looks like a good place to end for now. So, Horror-Show shows his disdain for all things fleshed, even Darkblood, by taking full advantage of what Brainiac was using as at least half a bluff, detonating the Earth's atmosphere. And now the vile ghoul has activated the detonation sequence, leaving everyone only an hour to save the world. But will this be enough time? Tune in next time to start finding out!
