Summary: Santana and Brittany's teen son messes around with his mom's time machine and ends up accidentally meeting his parents in their senior year of high school. He discovers it'll be up to him to play matchmaker to make sure the two finally get together. Set during early S3 of Glee.
Marco knew he shouldn't be messing around with Mom's time machine but he just couldn't help it. His curiosity got the best of him.
Oh no! He was back in his parents' high school era at McKinley. This was so weird. This was beyond weird.
The fashion was pretty cool though. The girls in this time period were also incredibly hot. He could stay there all day checking out the cheerleaders. Some of them were even flirting back with him.
It was pretty dangerous being there too. If he did anything at all that messed things up, his parents wouldn't get together and he might never be born! It was far too terrifying and devastating to even think about.
He didn't even realize there was a tall, blue-eyed, and freckled blonde watching him the whole time as he attempted to hide beside some lockers. His mother was angelic and sweet. It had to be her. She hadn't changed much in appearance since then. Other than that, he couldn't explain how he knew it was her.
"Oh wow! You're incredibly handsome!" The blonde gushed, fawning all over him. "I don't think I've ever seen you before but you look really familiar somehow. Like super familiar. Are you on some TV show?"
Marco felt a little weirded out by all of it - hey, it wasn't everyday you met your mother when she was a teen in a different decade - but mostly flattered.
"Aw, shucks, Mom - I mean, my mommy always tells me I'm handsome."
He sounded like such a goddamned dork.
"You still call her your mommy? That's just adorable. You're such a momma's boy. I hope my future son calls me that."
Marco swallowed nervously and blushed, feeling embarrassed but also trying not to give himself away.
"Ugh, Mom - I mean - that's nice. I'm not a momma's… well, okay, I kind of am. Oh, you're already planning a future son?"
It wasn't really macho to admit that he felt a little emotional about the idea of his blonde mom planning on having him from such a young age. She looked like a high school senior, from what he could tell.
She nodded with a dreamy smile. He didn't realize how much he was staring at her until she spoke up.
"You keep staring at me funny as if you're gonna cry or something."
"It's just that you're so beautiful. You look like an innocent ethereal angel. I mean that in like a totally wholesome kind of way."
He definitely sounded like the world's biggest dork but the words just came out.
"Aw, so charming and you sounded like… someone else I know when you said that. Normally I'd hit on you but it feels… weird somehow like you're just a little boy or something. How old did you say you were? It feels like I'm talking to my little brother or something. Plus, you should know that there's someone else who kind of stole my heart."
Marco really hoped she was talking about who he assumed she was talking about.
His mom continued to follow him around that day, skipping beside him in her cheerleading uniform as if there was nothing peculiar about this situation at all.
"Wait a minute. Are you my son?"
It was so typical of his mom to just blurt that out. Marco froze in his tracks and his eyes darted around. If anyone else was listening in, who knew who they would tell?
"Y-your son? Ha! How could I possibly be? You're joking. W-why would you say that?"
Brittany took his response as confirmation and squealed in delight, clasping her hands together.
"Yay! I knew it! So I did build the time machine after all. I've been wondering when one of my sons would come back from the future and find me. This is my lucky day. I have so much to tell you about and ask you."
Of course his mom would believe it, even if no one else did. Of course she would be totally cool and casual about this whole thing. At least it made this whole experience a lot easier for him.
"I'm really happy to meet you - I mean, I already know you but I'm happy to meet your younger you, Mommy."
"Aw, let me hug you, Marco," She wrapped him up in a crushing bear hug. "You're already my height! They grow up so fast!"
"H-how did you know my name?"
"Just a guess. That name is pretty high on my list of potential baby names. I really like Hispanic names."
"Oh, Hispanic names, huh," That was definitely a point in favour of Santana being his potential other parent. "You really have all of this planned out, don't you?"
"You're my son with Santana, aren't you?" She smiled gently as she gazed at his features, as if admiring each of them individually. "I knew it. Look at you with those dimples on your cheeks and gorgeous dark hair. You look so, so much like her, just with a tiny bit of me. You even have her eyes. I always wanted a son who looked like her. I'm so happy I could cry right now."
"I don't know what to say, Mom, but that's so sweet. I can't really tell you anything else about the future, though. So are you and Mami- I mean, Santana… dating?"
"Um… kinda? Not officially," Brittany admitted, lowering her gaze and she seemed a little uncertain. "I really wish we were. We sorta had this whole thing last year, then I told her when I'm single we could be together but she hasn't made a move yet. It's like she's scared and things are a little complicated right now, Honey."
Marco couldn't blame his other mother for being scared of fumbling a girl but he shook his head at the thought of Mami acting like this. It was senior year. That was the year his mom always told him they started officially dating. If Brittany and Santana didn't manage to take things in their relationship to the next level, the whole trajectory of their romance would be broken!
"That's so typical of her. You should tell her how you feel, Mom. I know she's a dork but there has got to be some reason you love her."
"Uh oh," Brittany's eyes popped open as she spotted something over his shoulder and he quickly realized why. "It's your mom. I don't think she's happy."
Santana was marching up to them in the hallway and she was furious.
Whoa! It was like looking in the mirror. It was as if he was seeing himself charging at him, except the girl version, and boy was she ever murderous.
"What the hell?! Hey, Buster! Little Boy, what the hell do you think you're doing with MY girl?!"
Little Boy?! He was sixteen. Marco resisted the urge to argue.
Yikes… Mami thought he was trying to steal her girl. Ew! His face blanched. That was his mom he was hugging! Marco could not have cringed any harder. He wanted to die.
He also could see where he got the Lopez temper from more clearly than ever.
"No, San, it's not what you think! Don't be jealous!" Brittany urged her to calm down but Santana was already glaring at Marco as if she was about to punch him. "My baby! Don't hurt him! He's just a little baby boy! He's my cupcake!"
To Marco's surprise, his other mom was on the verge of tears, facing Mom with a look of betrayal.
"I thought I was your baby!" Mami pouted, comically upset and outraged as she pointed a finger accusingly at Marco. "Who the hell is he?!"
Sure, he was pretty muscular but Mami was a force to be reckoned with and he got a little intimidated. He felt like a child about to be scolded or sent to their room.
"Mami!" Marco shouted instinctively, then covered his mouth and cursed himself when he realized his mistake.
"Who the hell are you calling Mami?!"
Clearly his other mom didn't recognize him at all and she was appalled.
Brittany stood in front of him protectively, though her face softened when she saw how weepy Mami was becoming. The last thing Marco expected was for Mami to cry about this but he should have seen it coming.
They were really making a scene in this hallway and the other students were all watching closely, snickering to themselves.
"I thought I was your only baby." Santana whimpered in dismay, covering her face with her hands. Brittany shook her head.
"Oh, San. He's my little baby but you're different. I'll explain everything later. He's not that kind of baby, Baby."
"What? I don't understand."
His dark-haired mom was still bewildered and snarling at him as Brittany led her away, still trying in vain to calm her down.
"You better stay away from her! If I catch you here again there's gonna be trouble!" She threatened.
"What are you gonna do? Ground me?" He challenged. "My moms never punish me!"
Mami was so confused and disoriented that she was at a loss for words.
Oh man… this was chaotic. He was already causing drama.
The whole situation was a mess. Mom was being so passive and Mami wasn't telling Mom her true feelings either, even though they were clearly in love. It was so obvious what was happening here. He was going to have to play the matchmaker to get them to finally start dating.
