Chapter 1643
Special Day
Camille-Hanna and Gail were headed for potential contact at a Skynet related facility which was recently destroyed. CamNet gave them a few more details as they drove.
They looked at a drone image. There was movement through the remains of the building.
"There's definitely someone there." Camille-Hanna said.
The drone remained at an altitude just out of the hearing range of a Terminator. They didn't know who or what was down there.
"I can tell CamNet doesn't want to let the person know they're being watched." Gail said. "She doesn't know if they're a Terminator or not."
Camille-Hanna knew they were going to have to use caution when they approached the area on foot.
"It most likely isn't a Terminator." Camille-Hanna said. "It's probably Skynet related though."
Gail didn't have a problem dealing with Grays. They didn't put up much of a struggle. If it wasn't a Terminator, or a Gray, who was in the building, it was most likely a future Scavenger. She wouldn't mind dealing with a few more of those tonight. Jesse taught her the only good Scavenger, was a dead Scavenger. She thought it was a good policy and agreed with it. She did her part to make sure there were quite a few 'good' future Scavengers.
"Let's move in and put the grab on them." Gail said. "One way or another, we need to find out who they are and what they're up to. They came from someplace. They're probably more of them where they came from."
Camille-Hanna knew there were always more. There were always more of every type of enemy they dealt with. They never ran out of them. If it wasn't one group, it was another.
"I'm going to park six blocks away." Camille-Hanna said. "We can move in on foot."
CamNet reassured them she could fire a missile, or conduct a 'gravity shot' from the minigun of the drone at any time. The drone could also be moved in closer to distract whoever it was inside of the building. They didn't appear to have any type of handheld anti-aircraft missile with them. The drone wouldn't be in direct danger. Whoever was on the ground would be alerted however.
A Terminator or a Gray would know what the threat was. A future Scavenger, or a street punk, wouldn't. All of them were cleared as targets.
Gail was aware of one of Savannah's concerns. She thought it was important to give a reminder.
"We need to consider it may be a homeless person as well." Gail said. "If it is, their actions will determine if they are someone who needs assistance, or someone who will be a future Scavenger. They will be dealt with accordingly."
Camille-Hanna was aware where Gail's statement originated from. She wasn't sure it was always something she agreed with. She still possessed the 'Neural Interface' with Vanna. Vanna went through a lot of negative experiences with males in her future. The actions of the individual would determine what their fate would be. The individual would actually be the one who determined what their fate was.
"Even with the drone support, we still need to use a certain amount of caution as we approach." Camille-Hanna said.
Gail wanted to try to avoid any sheath damage as well.
"Let's get up there and see what we have to deal with." Gail said.
Camille-Hanna parked the SUV where CamNet could keep an eye on it.
Gail and Camille-Hanna both exited the SUV and started towards the damaged building. It was time to find out who was there, and why. There was no indication they were walking into an ambush, but it was something which always needed to be considered. They knew if things didn't seem right or took a turn for the worse, the drone overhead could fire a missile at the suspected target and deal with it from above.
Savannah piloted the houseboat. There were a lot of things on her mind. She didn't want to seem inattentive to her duties as pilot of the boat. There were some things she wanted to address but wasn't sure of the best timing to do it.
Cameron could see Savannah was a little distracted as well as apprehensive. She wanted to put her mind at ease.
"You're doing fine." Cameron said. "Follow the heading I gave you. We can return back to the cabin."
Savannah wasn't sure if she wanted to wrap everything up yet. She reached over and touched Cameron's arm.
"I don't think we're done here yet." Savannah said.
Cameron tilted her head slightly. She looked back towards the Master Suite.
"Do you mean…?" Cameron asked.
Savannah smiled. She wasn't sure when the opportunity would arise again for them to be all alone, especially in a secluded location.
"Yes." Savannah said. "It will be the same as in your future with Duplicate Cameron."
Cameron was still a little unsure. She loved Savannah dearly. She didn't want to seem too forward or greedy. She didn't want to offend or hurt Savannah in any way either.
"You won't mind?" Cameron asked.
Savannah didn't mind. It was the way of the future. She was there. She wanted Cameron to expand a little more. She was concerned if she didn't do it now, she may be even more reluctant to do so going forward. She didn't want Cameron to concentrate solely on her. It isn't the way the 'Natural Order' worked.
"I want it for Young Allison, and for you." Savannah said. "Once everything gets started it will all be much smoother going forward. I can tell you each 'next time' will be easier and easier. Things will happen and no one will need to think about them."
Cameron knew there was someone else.
"What about Anna?" Cameron asked.
Savannah smiled.
"I think there are a couple extra cabins on board." Savannah said.
Cameron and Savannah both giggled. They weren't sure what would happen next.
They did know CamNet could pilot the boat remotely.
Anna and Young Allison were with each other as the houseboat moved across Lake Tahoe.
"I've tried to keep most of my responses to those of a human female." Anna said. "I didn't want to overdo anything. I have a lot of programming from Savannah through the 'Neural Interface'. I may have done things similar to her on multiple occasions. I've never done any of this before myself."
Young Allison took a moment to catch her breath.
"Everything's been wonderful." Young Allison said. "Tonight was my first night with Savannah. I just try to do what feels right and natural. You know I don't have much experience."
Anna wanted to remind Young Allison about something.
"I don't either." Anna said. "All my programming was off until after we both made it the first time."
They both shared a long slow deep loving kiss as they touched each other. It was something they both seemed to do a lot of. Maybe because it was the first time they could actually touch each other in an open sexual way. It happened with Savannah as well. She knew from watching the others around her house there wasn't quite so much touching the same way when things got started with the others.
Young Allison wondered how things would proceed going forward. She understood now why Savannah told her before on many occasions, it would change everything.
"Will we be able to do this everyday?" Young Allison asked. "Is it something we should do everyday? What about the others? I don't want to do the wrong things and mess anything up for anyone."
Anna didn't have an answer.
"I think it's all up to Savannah and you." Anna said. "I'm very appreciative Savannah, Cameron, and you, allowed this to happen. I never thought it was going to. Today is my most special day ever. I don't dream, but I do daydream. I've daydreamed about this so many times."
Young Allison felt exactly the same way. She really didn't know how I could get any better.
Anna didn't want to monopolize Young Allison's time. She knew she was allowed to do something no one needed to allow her to do.
"You can go ahead and get dressed." Anna said. "I will as well. I want you to look nice for Savannah. She might not be the only one to see you. I really don't know what else is going to happen. I do know we're all worried we're going to do something wrong. I'm sure whoever walks in the door after I leave will be who you want it to be."
Young Allison felt her heart race a little faster.
"Do you mean…?" Young Allison asked.
Anna wanted to remind Young Allison of something important.
"It's always up to you." Anna said. "It's not up to anyone else, ever. You can never forget it. You are the one who determines who can touch you and who you will share with. The decision or choice doesn't belong to anyone else. It doesn't matter who they are."
Young Allison heard almost the identical words from Savannah earlier.
"Savannah told me the same thing." Young Allison said. "She was very adamant about it."
Anna smiled as she dressed.
"I guess I know where I get it from then." Anna said. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You know we use the 'Neural Interface' quite frequently. Go ahead and finish dressing. I'll see what's happening."
Young Allison wanted a little more. She finished tying her shoes.
"I'm going to go with you." Young Allison said.
Young Allison and Anna shared another kiss. They walked hand in hand from the Master Suite, through the hallway, towards the bridge.

Cameron gave Young Allison a few options where she could spend the night.
Young Allison believed Cameron wanted to go back to Mojave. It seemed it would be a closer location to whatever tomorrow would bring.
"Mojave works for me." Young Allison said. "You're the one driving. I'll go wherever you take me."
Cameron wanted to know if Young Allison wanted to get in some more driving time.
"You can drive if you want to." Cameron said. "We're going to need to get some more gas before we go back. We've burnt most of our fuel. At eight pounds a gallon, I wanted to lighten our load some."
Young Allison looked around where they were at.
"It looks like we're in the middle of nowhere." Young Allison said. "I take it there's no airport close by."
Cameron knew there were two airports located only a few miles apart, just on the outskirts of Bakersfield. With the involvement of the police earlier, she didn't want to go back through the city of Bakersfield. She decided they could skirt it from where they were currently at. They would be able to hit a service station once they reached Route 466 again near the community of Edison. She spotted it on their way to Bakersfield when they passed it earlier. They currently possessed more than enough fuel to reach the location without a problem. She liked to keep the fuel tank with as much fuel as possible. It would always give them greater range wherever they were headed. There was always the possibility of some side trip along the way.
"We're going to take State Route 178." Cameron said. "It actually continues eastward by Lake Isabella, through the lower Sierra Range, and on to Death Valley. It will eventually connect with Route 6. We won't be going as far. The junction there is very close to the terminus of where the Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge was located. To visit the 'Slim Princess' can be a trip for another time. If we were a few years earlier, we could go there and watch the Narrow Gauge activity. It can be arranged as well."
Young Allison didn't want Cameron to get carried away. They were already off on their destination and arrival time with their earlier temporal transfer as it was. She knew there was always a risk with any temporal adventure. There were a lot of events throughout history they could visit and be a first hand witness to.
"It'll be something to think about it another time." Young Allison said. "I can drive to the gas station. We'll see how it goes afterwards."
Cameron pulled over. She put the car into neutral and left it running after she applied the parking brake.
Young Allison wondered why Cameron left the vehicle running.
"Are you going to reset the timing?" Young Allison asked.
It was Cameron's intention to do so. Maybe she would let Young Allison make a comparison.
"We'll be at the gas station in about ten miles." Cameron said. "I'll leave the timing for now so you can see how the acceleration compares to what you felt earlier. We have a very light load of fuel left."
Young Allison got behind the wheel and buckled in. She looked around and released the parking brake. She put the car into first gear and let out the clutch. She pulled back onto the highway. She made the turn where Cameron told her to.
There were only a few cars on the road once they were on SR 178.
After a few miles there was a sign which indicated they were at Kern Canyon Road.
"Turn right onto the next street." Cameron said.
Young Allison made the turn. After a short distance there was a sign which indicated they were on Weedpatch Highway.
"Is there really some place here named Weedpatch?" Young Allison asked. "It doesn't sound like it would be the most pleasant place to live."
Cameron thought it would be better to live in Weedpatch than it would be to live in Death Valley.
"It's really a place." Cameron said. "I'm not sure how it got its name, but it seems rather obvious. The section we were on will later be known as State Route 184. It should happen sometime next year."
SR 178 led them through some foothills. The turn onto Weedpatch Highway put them onto a two lane road.
Cameron looked around as they drove. They were out of the foothills. There was no oncoming traffic.
"There's approximately a mile of straight road ahead of us." Cameron said. "There are no vehicles in front of us or behind us. You can open it up."
Young Allison turned the high beams on.
"I'm going to need you to make sure I don't overdrive my headlights." Young Allison said. "You can see very well in the dark much farther ahead than I ever could, except maybe with binoculars. I need you to keep a watch out for any problems which might arise. I'm going to go through the gears, but I'm going to limit myself to six thousand RPM. We'll be moving very rapidly anyway."
Young Allison downshifted and slowed the Galaxie down.
"I'm going to punch it from a rolling start." Young Allison said. "It won't put as much strain on the drive train."
Cameron wanted to let Young Allison know she would be in the 'power band' of the engine in first gear if she was going twenty miles an hour.
"At the speed you're currently going, the tires are going to break loose if you give it full throttle." Cameron said. "You can either do the rolling start, or start from a stop. The vehicle will take the punishment. You need to remember this is a street legal race car. It's very similar to what won the Daytona 500 earlier in the year. I believe they only were allowed to run a single four barrel carburetor. We have dual quads. Our acceleration will actually be a little faster than what's run at NASCAR. Watch your neck when you punch it. It will snap your head back a little. The torque will be instantaneous."
Young Allison checked her mirrors and looked in front of her. Everything was clear. The Galaxie was in first gear at approximately twenty miles an hour.
"Here we go." Young Allison said.
Young Allison floored it. The 427 responded instantly. The tires broke loose. She felt herself pushed back into the seat. She was glad she was prepared for how her neck would be subjected to the acceleration. The car took off like a rocket.
"Wow! This thing is really moving." Young Allison said.
Young Allison didn't want to push the redline. She ran it up to 6,000 RPM and shifted into second. The tires got rubber. She continued to push it. She pushed it to 6,000 RPM and shifted into third. She got rubber again. The car felt like it was going to take off. She pushed it to 6,000 RPM and shifted into fourth. She got rubber again. She only pushed it to 6,000 RPM in fourth gear before she let off the accelerator. She felt she was going fast enough for the driving conditions.
"I could feel the difference in acceleration with the advanced timing." Young Allison said. "I understand the advantage of the dual point distributor. You mentioned someone with a Thunderbolt can run their 427 all the way up to nine thousand two hundred RPM, and it runs in Super Stock. I can't even imagine it."
Cameron was very pleased with the performance of the car. She couldn't wait until next year when they could procure a Thunderbolt. She didn't even know where they would be a week from now, let alone a few months, or a year.
Young Allison saw the sign for the junction with Route 466 ahead.
"There's a gas station on the Southeast corner." Cameron said. "Go ahead and make the turn when it's clear. I'll adjust the timing before you turn it off and we fill it up with premium.
Young Allison made the turn and pulled into the gas station. she didn't pull up to the pump since Cameron was going to reset the timing. She looked at the grades of gasoline available. It was 93 octane for regular, 99 octane for mid grade, and 102 octane for premium. It disgusted her to think how the fuel industry devolved over the years.
Cameron opened the hood and adjusted the timing. She closed the hood. Young Allison drove up to the pumps and shut the engine off.
Special Day
The daily dance through life
Is little more than a twisted ballet
Sometimes it's very convoluted
Only a step away from doomsday
Everything seems to be based
On little more than hearsay
Don't expect to see roses
When weeds make up the bouquet
Every action taken or words spoken
Are little more than cliché
Some are only ever happy
When they can make others obey
What's viewed by others
Is only what's put on display
Sometimes it's honest and open
Other times it's quite risqué
Look where the path is headed
There's no reason to delay
Everyone should be pleased and happy
When it's their special day
Nobody
