Chapter 39 Dragon Danger

Up on the surface above the temple and the Garden of Eyes, Moana was on her boat and she felt herself become nervous and concerned for her friends. How were Maui and the others doing, were they currently in a life and death battle with the Wolrd Gobbler or were they facing some other kind of danger or death trap and needed help? Wolf, Snake, and Webs watched Moana from their boat and saw her uneasiness.
"Relax Moana, Maui and the others hadn't been gone too long." Said Wolf.
"Yeah, but we don't know what's going on down there." Said Moana.
"True, but you forget they're professionals." Said Snake.
"Professionals?" Asked Moana.
"Maui is a demigod with magic and years of combat and life experience. My friends Shark and Piranha are skilled thieves with years of experience." Said Webs.
"But Ruby and Chelsea don't have the years of experience like the others in these kinds of things." Said Moana.
"That may be true, but they've proven that they can handle dangerous situations. Ruby and Chelsea managed to take down a huge monster like Monstro by being smart and using their skills. They've proven themselves in the past and you have to believe they'll handle the challenges in the temple and return to us with the Instrument of Destruction." Said Wolf.
"I guess you're right." Said Moana looking down.
"Look I understand how you feel, I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't worried about Shark and Piranha." Said Wolf.
"You're worried about them?" Asked Moana looking up.
"Of course we're worried, but we got to have faith that they'll pull through." Said Wolf.
"I'm not worried." Said Snake.
"Oh he's definitely worried." Said Webs with s smirk.
Snake just rolled his eyes and grumbled. Moana smiled a little as her faith and confidence in her friends returned.
Back in the temple Maui, Ruby, Chelsea, Shark, and Piranha had entered a enormous chamber that was big enough to fight really big monsters. The little group took the big room in and saw some stairs leading to a platform that had a pedestal with a small black statue that resembled a couple of tentacles twisted together. Around the platform was a giant dragon skeleton that was bigger then the Spiky Mandrilla, but smaller then Monstro.
"Well I see our prize and no World Gobbler, let's grab and get the heck out of here." Said Piranha as he prepared to race off and get the statue, but Shark grabbed.
"Dude remember what Wolf and the others said about the World Gobbler being an undead monster? That big pile of bones is the World Gobbler!" Whispered Shark looking at the bones fearfully.
"Well those bones don't appear to be doing anything, maybe the World Gobbler is sleeping or something." Said Piranha.
At that moment red glowing eyes appeared in the eye sockets of the World Gobbler's skull and the pile of bones began to get up and move. The World Gobbler stood up on two big legs, moved it's clawed hands a few times, flapped it's big wings, and let out a terrifying roar that shook the chamber. The big monster approached the little group that had dared enter it's chamber.
"Oh it's awake and I think woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" Said Piranha.
"And I don't think it likes company!" Said Shark.
"Alright Chelsea, your up." Said Maui.
"You got this Chelsea." Said Ruby.
Chelsea took a deep breath as she summoned her trident and approached the World Gobbler. The big monster stopped as it saw Chelsea approaching with her trident and recognized her as a mermaid. Chelsea stopped before World Gobbler and looked up at the monster with a brave face.
"World Gobbler, I am Princess Chelsea of the mermaid kingdom and I've come to subdue you with my magic and singing to claim the treasure you guard." Said Chelsea before she began singing.
The air was filled with a voice that was strong and gentle. The World Gobbler heard the voice and seemed to have a great affect on it. The big monster began to kneel down and it's eyes began to dim.
"She's doing it!" Said Maui.
"Way to go Chelsea!" Cheered Ruby.
"We're live!" Cheered Shark and Piranha.
Just when it seemed like the World Gobbler was going to go back to sleep and return to being a pile of bones a large rock behind Chelsea suddenly lifted off the ground and struck the back of Chelsea's head and knocked her to the ground dazed cutting off her singing! The eyes of the World Gobbler burned brightly as the monster stood up and let out an angry roar!
"What the?!" Yelled Maui, Shark, and Piranha.
"Chelsea!" Cried Ruby in alarm.
The group watched in horror as the World Gobbler turned it's attention to them and began to head their way stepping past Chelsea. Maui took up a fighting stance ready to fight as the figure of the Mega Minion Gus appeared next to the down form of Chelsea. Gus gave a evil smirk and wave before he activated his camouflage and became invisible again.
"That invisible guy somehow followed us down here!" Yelled Ruby as she began to grow and change into her giant kraken form.
"Will worry about him later, right now we have bigger problems to deal with." Said Maui.
"Well that creep is most likely trying to steal the Instrument of Destruction!" Said Shark.
"You two deal with him and will deal with the World Gobbler." Said Ruby.
"Got it!" Said Piranha.
The World Gobbler lunged at Ruby with it's jaws wide open and Ruby quickly harden her skin. The jaws clamped onto her right side and though they weren't able to penetrate her skin, Ruby could still feel the force behind the bite. Ruby yelled as she slammed her free fist as hard as she could into the World Gobbler's head. The punch struck the skull with a mighty crash and a few cracks appeared on it as the World Gobbler shook Ruby around with a twist of it's head and tossed her into a wall. Ruby struck the wall hard and let out a cry of pain. The World Gobbler was about to go after Ruby, when Maui flew in as a giant hawk and scratched at the monster's face, before flying up to turn into his human form and struck at the area Ruby had hit making more cracks appear on the skull. The World Gobbler let out an angry roar as Maui changed back into a hawk and flew over to Ruby as she pushed herself up.
"If we keep hitting that spot you damaged we can take that thing down." Said Maui.
"I don't think it's going to be that easy." Said Ruby pointing at the World Gobbler.
Both heroes watched in horror as the cracks on the World Gobbler's skull began to close and heal.
"Well that's going to be a problem." Said Maui.
"We just going to have to hit it harder and faster or figure out some kind of weak point." Said Ruby as she used her camouflage to go invisible and charged at the World Gobbler.
The World Gobbler was momentarily confused by Ruby's sudden disappearance and then it felt something strike it's jaw making a few teeth fly out followed by another couple of blows that made some cracks in it's jaws. Maui flew in and turned into a whale that crashed down on the World Gobbler's head making cracks on the top.
As that happened Shark and Piranha ran to the platform with the Instrument of Destruction on it. Shark stopped to pick Chelsea and the trident up and he and Piranha ran to the platform as the statue lifted off the pedestal. Gus had already reached the treasure!
"Oh no you don't!" Yelled Piranha as he jumped at the area he thought Gus was standing, but only met open air before he crashed into the ground.
Gus laughed as Shark put Chelsea and her trident down and changed into Snake. Shark then lunged at the floating statue and stretched his long body out like a rope and found the form of Gus and quickly wrapped around him. Gus cried out in surprise and pain as Shark squeezed him tight forcing him to become visible. Shark released the dazed Minion and took the statue from him. Piranha saw the now visible Minion and ran over and punched him hard in the face knocking him to the ground. Gus cried out in pain as he went invisible and retreated from the scene.
"We did it!" Said Piranha in excitement.
"Take this." Said Shark handing the statue to Piranha.
Shark picked up Chelsea's trident and pointed it at the back of the World Gobbler who had knocked Ruby to the ground making her turn visible. The thief held the trident as it began to glow and it unleashed a blast of energy that knocked Shark onto his back. The blast struck the World Gobbler in the back making it shout in pain and whirl around to see who had struck it. The World Gobbler saw Shark sit up with a nervous smile on his face as he held the trident and it saw Piranha with the treasure. The big monster roared in anger as it charged towards the two thrives.
"We're dead!" Cried Piranha in fear.
But just went it seemed they we're going to get torn to shreds, Chelsea came to and began singing again. The World Gobbler stopped in it's tracks as it began to calm down. Chelsea motioned for Shark to give her back her trident and he did so. Ruby got up and approached the World Gobbler from behind not sure what to do as Maui flew around in his giant hawk form. Chelsea studied the World Gobbler closely and took extra note of the monster's eyes and that gave her an idea to defeat the monster. She motioned for Ruby to grab the World Gobbler's head and hold it tight, while she kept singing. Ruby did as she was instructed and Chelsea fired a blast from her trident that struck the World Gobbler's right eye.
"Take out the other eye, Maui!" Sang Chelsea.
Maui flew by overhead and turned into his human form striking the left eye with his hook. The World Gobbler let out a screech of pain as both it's eyes were destroyed. The big monster's body collapsed into a pile of bones that quickly turned into ash.
"We beat it!" Said Ruby.
"Nice job figuring out the weak point." Said Maui.
"Thanks, sorry for not making the World Gobbler go to sleep." Said Chelsea.
"Hey you we're doing good, until that invisible jerk hit you. That wasn't your fault and you helped beat the World Gobbler." Said Ruby.
"Now we got the Instrument of Destruction!" Said Piranha.
"Another legendary steal for the Bad Guys!" Said Shark.
The Instrument of Destruction was finally theirs.
