Chapter 40 Weapon Unleashed

Ruby, Chelsea, Maui, Shark, and Piranha sat down for a minute to catch their breaths after the battle with the World Gobbler. The kraken, mermaid, and demigod cast glances at each other and then at Shark and Piranha, who held the Instrument of Destruction. It was hard for the heroes to believe that such a dangerous weapon was small enough to fit into the statue Piranha was holding, but considering what the heroes and their allies had faced so far the weapon had to be something special otherwise their would be no point in hiding it in a temple or having powerful guardians to protect it.

"So should we open this thing here?" Asked Shark.

"Why don't we head back to the surface first, rejoin the others, and then open it." Said Maui.

"I'm down with that." Said Piranha.

"You want to carry it or should one of us?" Asked Chelsea hoping to get the statue away from Piranha so she could try and destroy it.

"Nah I'm good. I'll hold it." Said Piranha.

"Ok then." Said Chelsea a bit annoyed that she couldn't destroy the weapon now.

The little group began to make their way to the exit and on the way there Maui, Ruby, and Chelsea spoke to each other softly.

"Don't worry, will get that weapon away from the Bad Guys and destroy it." Assured Maui.

"I know, but as long as it exists there's a chance that it can be used and the Bad Guys could try to escape with it or worst use it against us. That thing is dangerous, especially for Ruby." Said Chelsea with concern as she looked at Ruby.

"Hey, it'll be fine. With the three of us working together along with Moana we can get the weapon and destroy it. Just one blasts from my eyes or a blast from your trident and it'll be gone. No problem." Said Ruby with assurance.

"That's true, but let's not let our guard down just yet. There are others who are after the Instrument of Destruction and they really got it out for us." Said Maui.

"And we shouldn't underestimate the Bad Guys either, they still have a few tricks up their sleeves." Said Chelsea.

"Understood." Said Ruby.

The group reached the entrance of the temple and got into the water. Ruby turned into her giant kraken form and Maui turned into a giant stingray to breath underwater. Chelsea turned her legs back into a mermaid tail and she and the others swam into Ruby's hands. Ruby cuffed her hands together covering her friends and allies before she went into camouflage mode becoming invisible. The giant kraken swam through the water part of the temple and approached the giant doors. The doors opened and Ruby swam outside.

The Garden of Eyes went about their business and they didn't seem to register that the temple doors had opened or closed. Now all Ruby had to do was swim to the surface with her friends and allies. She began to swim upwards, when suddenly a powerful beam of energy surged through the water and struck Ruby in the back making her cry out in pain and become visible. The six giant eyes and the smaller eyes of the Garden of Eyes turned and focused on the giant kraken. Ruby quickly averted her eyes away from the garden's eyes and tried to swim upwards and just barely missed being hit by another laser. The giant kraken turned to the direction of the attack and saw Mel of the Mega Minions swimming a good distance away and preparing to fire another laser at her from his eye! Ruby tried to quickly swim away, but one of the giant eyes caught up to her and grabbed one of her giant tentacles and kept her from swimming upwards. The giant kraken knew she was in a tight spot and that her friends were in grave danger.

"Everyone swim away!" Yelled Ruby as she released the others from her cupped hands.

Piranha who still has the Instrument of Destruction quickly swam upwards to the surface along with Shark. Chelsea and Maui had other plans. Maui changed into a large shark and swam towards Mel. Mel saw him coming and tried to blast him with a laser, but Maui dodged his shot and slammed his snout into him hard sending the Mega Minion out of the water as Maui surfaced. Maui glanced around at the surface and saw Gutt and Dave's ship approaching the scene with their crews ready for battle.

Thunderclap and his gang along with Gavin and his children flew off the boats to go after Moana and Wolf's boats. Shark and Piranha had just reached the surface and had gotten onto Wolf's boats when the flying enemies circled around and began to attack. Moana and the others freaked out at first, but quickly picked up their paddles and swung at the enemies to keep them away, except for Webs since she was too small to lift a paddle. Snake had coiled his tail around a paddle and was swinging it at best he could, but he wasn't as good at swinging as those who had arms.

Maui realized he had to help the others and as much as he hated to leave Ruby and Chelsea behind under the water he had to trust that the two princesses could handle the Garden of Eyes without him. The demigod leapt out of the water and turned into a giant hawk to fly to his friends' aid. Maui slammed into Thunderclap knocking him away from Moana's boat. Shark decided to join in by dropping his paddle, turning into a giant hawk, and slammed himself into Gavin who was flying by the Bad Guys' boat. The two shapeshifters flew around getting the attention of the flying enemies.

"Come and get us!" Yelled Maui.

Thunderclap took up the challenge and gave a command to his gang.

"Me and Gavin will deal with these two. The rest of you focus on the boats and get the treasures these people have!"

"Don't let me down kids." Said Gavin.

Thunderclap went after Maui and Gavin went after Shark. Thunderclap's crew of four went after the Bad Guys' boat and Gavin's two kids went after Moana. Gutt and Dave's boat closed in on the battle, after picking up Gus and the stunned Mel.

As all that was going, chaos was breaking out under the water. Ruby had closed her eyes and was wrestling with the eye that had a hold of her tentacle leg as the big eyes and small eyes closed in on her. Chelsea swam around as fast as she could blasting the eyes with her trident and forcing them away from Ruby. The smaller eyes were easily blasted away, but the bigger eyes were made out of a bit tougher stuff and kept coming. Chelsea realized she couldn't blast all the big eyes away on her own, but she quickly came up with an idea.

"Ruby I need you to open your eyes and unleash your eye beams at full blast!" Called Chelsea.

"Just tell when they're close!" Said Ruby as she got ready to open her eyes and fire everything she had.

The big eyes got closer to Ruby, until they we're only a few yards away.

"Do it now!" Yelled Chelsea as she fired a blast from her trident at the eyes.

Ruby opened her eyes and fired her beams into the eyes as well. The two powerful attacks struck the eyes and tore through them releasing a mix of yellow and black liquid as the stalks fell back limp. Chelsea stabbed the eye holding onto Ruby's tentacle and it loosened it's grip on the kraken allowing her to break free. Ruby and Chelsea swam back away from the Garden of Eyes and watched with a bit of horror as the eyes began to regenerate and fix themselves.

"Just like the World Gobbler." Muttered Ruby.

"Should we just leave or do you think this thing might chase after us?" Asked Chelsea.

Ruby thought it over for a few seconds. She and Chelsea knew very little about the Garden of Eyes and what it was capable. It would probably be best to put an end to the creature then risk it coming after them.

"We should probably take it out, while it's healing itself. It has to have some kind of weak spot." Said Ruby.

The two looked at the big monster and came up with the same conclusion and said it together.

"The mouth!"

Chelsea fired a blast from her trident and Ruby fired a blast from her eyes. The two attacks struck the center of the mouth and went inside. The Garden of Eyes let out a loud dying screech as it's stalks began to dark, shrivel, and fall to the ocean floor. The monster was dead.

Ruby and Chelsea let out a sigh of relief as they swam up to the surface to join the others.

Wolf, Shark, Piranha, and Snake were doing a good job fending off Thunderclap's crew and Moana was managing to fend off Gavin's children when Ruby emerged from the ocean and began swatting at the flying monsters and Chelsea emerged from the ocean firing a few blasts from her trident forcing the monsters to retreat back to their masters' ships. Ruby and Chelsea took up fighting positions by their friends and allies as Gutt and Dave's ships got closer.

Gutt stood at the head of his ship holding a jar that contained the potion Dave had made from the blood of Ruby, Chelsea, and Monstro. Dave had warned Gutt, that he wasn't sure what the potion was capable of and it would be very dangerous, but Gutt didn't care as long as it gave him the power to crush all his enemies and claim the heart of Te Fiti and the Instrument of Destruction he was willing to risk it all.

"Hello ladies, you've been a very interesting prey to chase after, but the hunt ends here! I will end you all here and take what I want!" Declared Gutt.

"Bring it Gutt we aren't scared of you or your allies!" Declared Ruby.

"We can take what you throw at us!" Said Chelsea.

"Oh will see about that!" Said Gutt before he drank the jar of potion in one gulp.

Ruby and Chelsea had no idea what was going on, but they had a feeling it wasn't anything good as they prepared themselves for whatever horror Gutt was fixing to unleash.
