Prompt: "Ugh! It's like I'm cursed or something!"

There were times that Ra really didn't like when she was right. Now was one of those times. First, they had figured out that they were dealing with the Libris Fabula, which was not good at all. Now, it would seem that they were being sucked into the fairy tales as well. It was all she could do to only sigh as Colonel Baird dialled up Jenkins and put it on speakerphone.

It didn't take long for the Researcher to answer. "Yes?"

Baird got right to the point. "Jenkins, quick question. Is it possible that we're getting sucked into the fairy tales?"

"Fatal, yet interesting. Just out of curiosity, what roles are you playing?"

"Well, I'm pretty sure that Stone's the huntsman."

Jacob was slightly wide-eyed but nodded in agreement. "And Cassandra's prince charming."

"Weirdly." Before Cassandra could say anything more, a wooden staff dropped out of the sky, hitting Ra in the head before she could catch it properly, causing her to start swearing under breath. The math genius held back some chuckles before speaking again. "And, since a wooden staff just fell on her, I think that Ra is the wizard."

The Archivist growled lightly. "Ugh, it's like I'm cursed or something. Oh, wait, I am!"

Jacob just shook his head before putting one of his hands over Ra's mouth to stem the profanities that were starting up from her mouth again. "And Baird is a princess."

Now Baird scoffed. "A princess?" The dainty laugh that followed her incredulous words caused the Guardian's eyes to widen in shock. "It's happening!"

Cassandra quickly took the phone from Baird as Ra moved Jacob's hand. "Look, Jenkins, if we're all heroes, we're all the good guys, that means we get happy endings, right?"

Ra shook her head. "Not quite. Even for the heroes, there is death, dismemberment, hundred-year comas. Not to mention all of the civilian bystanders."

Jenkins spoke up again. "She's correct. In fact, the only one who escapes every story unscathed is the Jack, though the wizard is sparred sometimes as well."

Cassandra furrowed her brow. "The Jack?"

"Yes, Jack. The nimble rogue. The lucky thief who lives by his wits."

Baird and Ra both groaned before the former spoke up. "Where's Ezekiel?"

"Alright, listen, good luck finding the book. Got to go."

Ra rolled her eyes. "He can be of no help sometimes. Okay, let's figure this out."
