"DIVE MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE ROLE-PLAYING GAME. Or, for short, DMMO-RPG."
"wait, is that?"
"It's a game where you can immerse yourselves in an imaginary world as if you were in it. Like Sword Art Online, Shangri-La Frontier, and my favorite Yggdrasil." The titles of the games appear on the screen, but only the title Yggdrasil flashes large upon the screen.
"Compared to the two, it's a recent release that stood above all other DMMO-RPGs, and unlike in Sword Art Online, you won't die for real if you die in the game."
"wait, what!?" Weiss shouts in shock
"there's a game where you can die for real if you die in the game!?" Nora screeches in fear.
"who would create such a game!?" Ruby trembles
"And like Shangri-La Frontier's adventures, where you explore and continually learn and combine skills. Like the Shangri-La Skill tree, Yggdrasil has the Class system as a fundamental character customization element. Counting the advanced and base classes, there are well over two thousand. Since each class has fifteen levels, players can have seven or more classes before reaching the overall level cap of one hundred. As Shangri-La is limited to one class."
"I see…So, Shangi-La has one class you can choose from, but you continuously enhance your skills. As for Yggdrasil, players can have multiple classes you can choose with more skills than Shangi-La." Ren summarizes his understanding to the others, especially Nora.
"Won't that be too easy to pick a class?" Weiss questions from her understanding.
"Actually, as long they meet the basic requirements. They can dabble as they please. Though it would be inefficient, a player could acquire one hundred classes in level one if they wanted to. In other words, the system is such that if it was deliberately created that way, no two characters would ever be the same." Blake read from the text.
"What makes Yggdrasil different is you can create a world or rule like a god in Yggdrasil in one of the nine worlds, thanks to the unusually high degree of player freedom. These features, among others, made it stand out from all other DMMO-RPGs of its time."
"What kind of features?" Pyrrha asks curiously as she turns to Blake
"Well, according to this book, Yggdrasil allows players to customize their characters-"
"Yeah, Yeah, we already know that. That's pretty much on every video game." Yang interrupts. She immediately lost interest as she already heard of it before. Blake leers at Yang for interrupting her.
"if you let me finish, Yang. Yggdrasil allows you to choose three category races: basic humanoid (human, elves, dwarfs) and sub-humanoid (goblins, ogres, orcs, tieflings), which are limited in Shangri-La Frontier and Sword art online. In Yggdrasil, the third option is called Grotesques."
"What's a Grotesque?" Nora asked; even the other never heard that before.
"Monsters that you would encounter in a dungeon with powers and more abilities than the other two category races but penalties in different ways. This includes elite races, over…seven hundred?" Blake stammered at the end, surprised by the number of Grotesque players can choose from.
"Seven hundred!? Does that mean you can be an OP dragon!?" Yang repeated, surprised and excited. Blake turned the book's pages and found what she was looking for.
"As long you meet the requirements and Data crystals, then yes, you can transform into a dragon." Blake read.
"Data crystals?" Weiss asks.
"It's a form of currency and materials players need for their creation. You create and modify armor and weapons using an item called a "creator's toolkit." But you can also create NPC."
"NPC? What does the N-" Nora asks, but Blake interrupts her as she continues reading from the text.
"It means Non-Playable-Character, which means you can create them to do anything they're made for," Blake stated as this caught the attention of many of her friends, especially Yang.
"So, just hypothetically…let's say, for example…I wanted a harem guys as my servants…is that um…you know….possible?" Yang vaguely asks her question nonchalantly. Her friends, especially her sister, looked at her with disgust, simultaneously thinking with a sigh that they should have seen that coming from Yang. While Pyrrha imagined herself in the game with all her created NPC to all look like Jaune in different roles of her imagination, her face turned red.
"Yeah...as long the design isn't over erotica, the developers won't ban you."
"And became widely popular in the kingdom of Mentle. After twelve years of operation, the world of Yggdrasil is about to end." Then, a band of colorful adventures approached what appeared to be a giant mausoleum in a polluted marsh of the undead as they rose to defend the mausoleum.
"You think the guy in red armor is Jaune? He has the sword and shield," Nora questioned
"Maybe...but remember, this is a different variant. Blake, does that book say anything about Jaune's Avatar?" Pyrrha answered and then turned to Blake. Maybe the book could tell them what Jaune's character is.
"That was the first time I looked up. But by the time I found the page, it was blank. It just only showed me his game tag: Arcadia." Blake shows her friends the page with nothing written except Jaune's name and gamer tag.
"wow, check out their gear! You can tell they used the creator's toolkit as well." Ruby's eye gleams of stars. Imagine having the creator's toolkit so she can make as many babies as she wants and constantly upgrading the crescent rose.
"wait, how can you tell just by looking? Those might be part of the game?" Weiss asks in doubt.
"well, poor naive Weiss. lemme enlighten, my dear." Ruby replies condescendingly that she wore a fake beard and mustache like an old sage.
"Seriously, you're gonna pull the condescending mentor act? Is that really helpful? And also, that doesn't work if you're younger than me, Ruby."
"Well, you see my dense, spoiled pupil. The wielder's weapon reflects the user, and at the same time, we, the user, leave an imprint on our weapons. While video game weapons and gear are created by the developers of the said game, they are identical."
"Ruby, you made that up." Weiss denies Ruby's speculations. Though, she did question where she found that get-up.
"Actually, Weiss, Ruby's right. According to this, Yggdrasil developers only made two hundred weapons and gear for starting players. This was one of the main reasons for the unusually high degree of player freedom. As Yggdrasil is an open sandbox game."
The army of the undead approaches the adventuring party and charges at the undead, making short work of the undead soldier very quickly, captivating and inspiring the audience. Those with a gaming background, however, are unimpressed. These undead mobs are low-level monsters, weaklings, and obviously, the party is high-level. They stare at their awe-inspired friends. They couldn't help but laugh at something, considering it stolen candy from a baby.
As the raiding party finally arrived at the foot of the flight of stairs to the mausoleum, they stopped and saw another party blocking their path. The leader of the raiding party's eyes widen in shock and fear. On top of the stairs, they see the silhouette of elite races of Grotesque looking down on them, blocking their path to the entrance. The leader wasn't the only one in a sense of unease. His comrade even took a step back in fear, unsure if they could defeat the defenders of the mausoleum, the members of the Guild they are raiding, the Guild of Ainz Ooal Gown.
With the crack of lightning, that raiding party is defeated on the ground. Seeing their demise, the crowd is shocked by this. An entire team was wiped out like it was nothing.
"N-no way…" Ruby couldn't comprehend what she saw
"They got wiped out…" Weiss's face turns pale in shock.
"even if this was a video game. They wiped them out without so much a scratch. There's no way those were ordinary NPC." Yang states in shock.
"Cause you're right, Yang. Those aren't NPC or mob bosses. Those were other players. Specifically, members of Ainz Ooal Gown." Blake replied while she cross-referenced the group on top of the stairs to the book. As letters, words, and sentences slowly appear on the pages before Blake, especially Jaune's data and avatar.
The echoes of laughter sound on the battlefield. To a figure of a skeleton wearing an elaborate, jet-black academic gown adorned with gold and violet edges as his vacant left eye orbit emits a faint golden flame. Its laughter alone sent shivers down the audience's spine of the unrelenting horror, yet they didn't see it fight the raiding party but knew if they went against it, they wouldn't last. The laugh continued, and the screen faded black.
"And that Skeleton grotesque is the leader and the most powerful player that reached the elite race and title of the Guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, an Overlord." Blake stares at the Overlord in fear, like its shadow cast down on her and her friends, suffocating them in darkness, and they can't breathe. Immediately forgetting that this is a game.
"And who's that player?" Pyrrha asks while gripping the armrest tightly, fearing that her nails would dig into the fabric.
"It's...Jaune..." Blake hesitates as she stares at Jaune's avatar, which shows his power and information with the endless list of spells, abilities, and achievements he carries.
"No way..." Yang whispers in shock.
"It can't be..." Ruby denies what she heard
"Jaune..." Pyrrha wonders what would happen to her knight to end up like this.
"It was fun...in fact, it was a blast." Jaune's voice echoes in a somber tone. As the screen came back to life in a first-person perspective, the gaming HUD showed Jaune's player name, Arcadia, his stats: HP, MP, EXP, and stamina and the location titled on top of the HUD "The Great Tomb of Nararick - 9th floor – Round table". In front of him is another Grotesque, like an amorphous black blob, almost like coal tar, whose constantly shifting surface meant he had no fixed shape. His player name displays "Herohero".
"What kind of Grotesque is that?" Nora looks with slight disgust and turns to Blake for answers.
"It's an Elder Black Ooze. An elite race of slime that has high acidic abilities. And...oh, that's interesting?" Blake called out, catching her friend's attention.
"What is it?" Weiss asked, but by the time Blake answered, the Ooze in question called out.
"Hey, bro, it's been a while." The Ooze in question called out to Jaune with a slight wave. To which everyone in question recognizes the voice.
"Wait, Cardin!?" Ruby shouted in surprise.
"ugh...disgusting..." Weiss says in disgust.
"Pfffftt! Hahaha! I know he's a slimy bastard, but I didn't mean it literally! Hahaha!" Yang laughs, followed by the others with Nora on the floor laughing uncontrollably.
"What are you talking about, dude? We just saw each other yesterday at Shangri-La Frontier." Jaune smiles. Although his skeleton skull can't express expressions, Herohero can tell.
"I know that bro! I meant in Yggdrasil. You log in almost every day after SLF (Shangri-La Frontier). You're really hooked on this game, aren't you?" Even with the constantly shifting surface, Jaune knows Herohero is smiling too much.
"Is it weird that Cardin and Jaune sound like they are close friends?" Pyrrha ask, puzzled and uncomfortable about the dynamic relationship between the two.
"You're not the only one. This is weird to watch." Ruby replies.
"Well, this alternate reality." Ren reminds his friends.
"bet Cardin is the same bully in that reality, too," Weiss states.
"hey Blake, is there something in that book that could explain this Cardin?" Nora asks as she, too, is uncomfortable with the dynamic between Jaune and Cardin. Blake searched in the book for a couple of minutes till she found the page and skimmed through the page with her brow raised, surprised by what she saw.
"that's very interesting..." she repeated.
"What did you find?" Yang curiously asks, hovering over her partner's shoulder and looking at the book.
" According to this, this variate of Cardin is a famous professional gamer," Blake replied, surprising Yang with what she heard. I took the book off Blake's hand and read it on the page on Cardin in denial.
"Professional Gamer...as if that's a career. Still, I bet he used his fame to exploit others, especially the Faunus." Weiss scoffs.
"Actually, Ice-queen, you be surprised. If I'm reading this right. Before Cardin enrolled in Beacon, he was a professional gamer, well-loved in the gaming community, and a supporter of the Faunus that he donated his tournament winnings to Menagerie to fund the complete construction of the CCTV tower. They even place a plaque in his honor. Due to his contribution to Menagerie, the white fang never targeted Cardin's family and, in turn, never became a racist like the one we have." Yang read from the text in both surprise and denial.
"Of course I am, and to be honest, Herohero, I thought never come. You were gone almost a couple of years." Jaune replied, surprised to see his friend coming back.
"Wait a couple of years!? Oh, men, I was too focused on the upcoming tournaments then, and my concept of time was out of wack. And worse, my enrollment at Beacon Academy was approved, and I have to retire from my gaming career." Herohero sighs in frustration. You can tell his exhaustion from his rasping voice.
"Yeah, I saw your matches. It was intense, and I thought your team was going to lose. But hey, look at the bright side: you got into Beacon! You should celebrate, dude." Jaune cheers, trying to cheer his friend.
"No matter in which reality. Jaune always tries to put a smile on his friends." Nora smiled with her teammate agreeing with her
"Thanks. BTW, what about you? You told me you also applied to Beacon. Did you get in?" Herohero asks excitedly, knowing he may retire from gaming, but at least he'll know his best friend will also be there.
"It's obvious he's in." Ruby smile.
"Actually...it was rejected..." Jaune came silent as the conversation soon became awkward.
"Oh, shit...my guy, I'm sorry...I didn't mean to..."
Herohero tries to fix this mess-up, but Jaune interrupts and reassures him.
"Please, don't worry about it; besides, there's a bright side to this." He smiles
"What's the bright side?" both Herohero and the audience ask with concern.
"That I'll be gaming at SLF so much! You'll be playing ketchup grinding EXP just like last time when I reach level 50 first while you're still little level 45 with Pencilgon!" Jaune mocks the Ooze, which ticks Herohero off.
"Screw you, bro! That's because you got ahead of me! At least I wasn't the moron who didn't know about the skill garden till he was level 45, which is common knowledge in SLF! EVEN NOOBS KNOW ABOUT IT!" Herohero vent.
"dude! Low blow! You promised you never mention that!" Jaune argues.
"Well, you shouldn't remind me of that traumatic experience with Pencilgon!"
"wait, it was that traumatic with Pencilgon. What did she do to you, bro?" Jaune asks while Herohero shivers in fear.
"don't wanna talk about it..."
A moment of silence sounded between the two players till they broke into laughter.
"Is it weird that I'm kinda jealous of their close friendship?" Ruby ask.
"You're not the only one." Nora pouted along with Pyrrha.
"And who's this Pencilgon they kept mentioning?" Ren asked Blake as she searched for the name in the text.
"she sounds like a badass if Jaune and Cardin fear her." Yang smiles.
"Unless you think a PKer is a badass Yang. Then you have a bad taste of choosing heroes." Blake suggests.
"PKer?" Weiss asks
"Player killers. Their players kill other players in the game for fun. Arthur Pencilgon is a notorious PKer in Shangri-La Frontier but retried after the disbanding of her Guild, Ashura-Kai."
"Yeah, btw i've been meaning to ask. Since you are part of gaming royalty." Jaune jest due to Herohero's professional gaming career.
"what is it?"
"Why are the devs (developers) closing down Yggdrasil servers? Compared to SLF, it's still recent and more popular." Jaune argues.
"..." Herohero hesitated momentarily, concerned about not wanting his best friend's feelings of his love for Yggdrasil to hate.
"you know something...don't you? Please, Herohero, I need to know..." Jaune begged as Herohero sighed in defeat as he knew Jaune had the right to know.
"haaa...well, you didn't hear this from me, but apparently. There were cases of SAO deaths happening to Yggdrasil players..." As soon as Jaune heard SAO's death, the gold orbits in his eye glow intensely in shock.
"SAO death (Sword Art Online deaths) means a player died during the game. This term was inspired by gamers who survived the death trap game, where the head scientist who developed SAO trapped over a million online players inside the DMMO-RPG of Sword Art Online. Trapping them for over five years with the death toll to hundreds of thousands. The company tried everything to get the players out safely without shutting down the servers, worried they might kill all of them. The scientist assured the players that the only way to escape was to beat the game, and all the players would be free." Blake read.
"What!?"
"yeah...there were 27 cases of SAO deaths reported. All died in their nerve gear, playing Yggdrasil."
"Wait, what? Why wasn't this announced?"
"Because the first fourteen cases happened during the Copycat SAO death murder case."
"Copycat SAO deaths?" Nora ask
"Someone is killing other players like they died in the game, but in reality, someone is killing players outside of the game to stage the death." Blake frowns from the case files in the book.
"Why would someone would do that?" Ruby exclaimed in fear.
"no one knows. It could be they did it for fun or were delusional." Ren states.
"That time, the police thought they were connected. Even the copycat murderer admitted it. The Devs didn't take notice till the remaining 13 cases opened of SAO death two years ago. That's when they realize Yggdrasil is the second SAO. It explains why players quit playing Yggdrasil. Especially the Guild, and I was forced to sign a contract and never speak of it, which is why I haven't logged in to Yggdrasil."
"Jeez, dude, so much for looking out a brother."
"dude, I'm sorry..."
"forget about it. The servers are closing, so it doesn't matter."
"Hmmm...?" Herohero turns his head away in the opposite direction as if he notices someone calling out to him, which Jaune recognizes someone is calling out to Herohero, probably his sister.
"Duty calls?" he asked.
"yeah, duty calls..." Herohero sighed, wishing he could stay longer with his best friend, as a console display appeared before Herohero logged out.
"His leaving already?" Ruby sadden
"With initiations Coming. You need to be prepared." Weiss remarks.
"well, rest well, and good luck, dude." Jaune smiles and watches Herohero about to log out, but pauses and turns to Jaune.
"Arcadia... no, Jaune...this might be the last time we might see each other again in the game. I'm not even sure we might meet at SLF. So, just in case, I just want to say...thank you. If I hadn't met you in Berserker Online Passion (BOP), I wouldn't be the professional gamer that I am today and accomplished to connect Menagerie to the rest of Remnant. And it's all thanks to you, my man...and I hope we meet in IRL to catch up..."
There was silence in the air, leaving everyone stunned by what they heard, especially from someone who's a bully. Who gave a heartfelt speech to his victim. It was difficult to accept and comprehend.
"Is there a way we can trade this Cardin for our?" Nora asks, while some of the others agree with Nora's notion.
"I can't believe I'm saying this. But I support Nora's notion." Weiss agrees.
"We'll ask when Izzy gets back," Ren said.
"I wonder how Jaune reacts?" Pyrrha asks curiously.
"Wow...that's very sweet, Susan. It was compelling on the voice mod and almost had me. Now can you please get your dumbass of a brother back, please?" Jaune callously asks, which ruins the touching moment the audience can see the tick mark on the Ooze's head.
"...never mind..."Pyrrha slumped in disappointment.
"Why!?" Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose.
"dick move!" Yang laughs
"It was a touching moment!" Ruby cries
"I'll totally do that." Nora smiles
"DUDE! WHAT THE F! I WAS HAVING A MOMENT! AND YOU LITERALLY TAKE A SHIT ON IT! AND YOU THOUGHT I WAS SUSAN! WHAT THE HELL MAN!"
"WHAT DO YOU EXPECT! YOUR SISTER WAS VERY CONVINCING LAST TIME WHEN WE WERE FIGHTING THAT COLOSSI. ALSO, WHAT KIND OF GAMER ARE YOU WHO LEAVE IN THE MIDDLE OF A RARE ENCOUNTER WITH A COLOSSI!?" Jaune argues.
"YOU'RE STILL ON ABOUT THAT!? I TOLD YOU I HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM! IT'S EITHER THAT OR SHIT MYSELF!" Cardin retorts, and then both immediately break into laughter once again.
"but for real...I'm really going to miss these talks."
"So will I, Herohero, no Cardin...It was fun...in fact, it was a blast...good luck in Beacon. Crush the competition." Even though Jaune's avatar lacks flesh and skin, Cardin and the audience knew he was giving him a competitive grin with a clenched fist. As Cardin returned the gesture as a promise.
"You got it. I hope we meet again in IRL and see me win the upcoming Vytal festival. I'll bring honor our guild name. Glory to Ainz Ooal Gown!" He logs out as he chants loudly at the end for dramatic effects. He left in a blue light with the text "Herohero has logged out," while Jaune couldn't help laughing at the departure timing.
"Glory to Ainz Ooal Gown...Heh, couldn't help it, could you, Cardin..." Jaune chuckles, then becomes silent.
"Today is the last day Yggdrasil servers will be online. Why not stay while we reminisce till everything shuts down for good..." Jaune's tone saddened more profoundly as the view pans closer to Jaune.
"oh well, I was happy he came at all... I hope we meet again, huh? Just when and where will that be..." Jaune whispers sarcastically while seeing the remaining 41 empty seats at the round table. He looks down at the table before slamming his bone fist into the white marble.
"THIS SUCKS!" he retorted.
"This is our home, we built together with virtual blood and sweat! How could he turn his own back so easily?!" he asked, wanting, but he already knew the answer. He just wants to vent his frustration.
"stop it, he didn't. No one in the Guild betrayed you." He calmed down and stood up from his chair. Jaune walked down the room and approached a golden staff with oriented gems on top, each housed in the mouths of snakes.
"Our guild's weapon is the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown."
"We've played recklessly to make it. Some of us use our PTO just to grind the materials." Jaune remembers the good times making the Guild weapon as he reaches out to the staff.
"Out of the 41 members, 37 quit...and the three left…" Now, on his hand, the staff glowed a purple aura that looked like souls crying out in pain as it dissipated, reminding Jaune it was an animation effect that he shook off just to show the animation.
"Let's go, you're the testament of the Guild." He announced proudly, leaving the room behind, wanting to spend the game's final moments in the great Tomb of Nazarik.
"There are two requirements to enter the Guild Ainz Ooal Gown. The player's avatar has to be inhuman and have to be a functioning member of society. We put our livelihood online to play. Some members manage to make their dream come true." Walking down the hallway of his palace, it was a majestic ornate world reminiscing of a Neuschwanstein castle, chandeliers hanging in regular intervals shining warm light from the high ceilings. The polished floor of the white hallway reflected the light on marble wood, gleaming like it was full of stars.
"Man, just looking at the hallway alone makes you want to see Jaune's castle."
"Wait! Jaune owns a castle! Then that means I can finally be Queen of the castle." Nora cheers excitedly.
"Nora, it's a tomb, not a castle." Ren corrected
"How big is it exactly?"
"According to this…the Great Tomb of Nazarik initially has six levels. But after Ainz Ooal Gown conquered the Tomb, it dramatically transformed and expanded to ten levels. And if this is right, each level is large enough to fit a whole kingdom."
Jaune's footsteps echo in the halls, accompanied by the hard clank of his staff on the floor. After walking down the wide corridor and turning a few corners, he saw a woman approaching him ahead. She was gorgeous, with abundant blond hair falling around her shoulders and distinct facial features. She wore a maid uniform, with a broad apron and a long obtrusion shirt. Soon, the gap between them closed, and the woman bowed deeply to Arcadius. He responded with a slight wave, but her expression didn't change, like a porcelain doll. Though what would he expect? She's an NPC, a doll who's made to only follow a program her mother or, in this case, her creator.
"All NPC maids of the Great Tomb of Nazarick are Homunculus (artificial humans) created by a player named WhiteLace, who was given the title "the Mother of Maids." She was a former Illustrated artist with a career change but kept doing Illustration commissions as a side hassle. With Herohero and five other Guildmates assisting with the AI programming."
Arcadia fondly remembers the former Illustrator's obsession with Maids so badly who could cook and take care of her house as she was too busy with work, especially from her irresponsible boss who kept dodging his responsibility and bending the rules to his favor. Arcadia couldn't help but laugh at her Misfortune. The Guild kept telling her to quit her job and make a complaint. As Arcadia reminisces, the Maid straight up and cock her head as if to say, "May I help you?"
"Oh? Is this the ideal pose she would strike if you stood close to her for some time?" Arcadius searched his memory, scratching his bony head, impressed by the details of Herohero's AI programming. He knew there would be other secret poses if you waited longer; however, he didn't have enough time.
"Thanks for your hard work," he said to the Maid out of sentimentality of the collaboration of his guildmate who created the maids of Nazarik and slipped by her. Knowing she wouldn't reply, he knew it was the proper thing to do on the last day.
"Ultimately, I can't blame them for choosing real life." He descended a flight of stairs, and a figure came into view, bowing toward Jaune as he approached, followed by six maids. The figure was an old man superbly dressed in a butler's uniform. His hair is white, as is his beard, conspicuous wrinkles, and chisel caucasian features give him an air of kindness, but his penetrating eyes are those of a hawk targettting its prey.
Behind him, trailing like his shadow, are six maids, but all dress differently than the norm. These maids are dressed for combat, wearing different armor styles and wielding various weapons. Besides their gear, the only thing they had in common was how beautiful they were, but even their beauty comes in multiple types, bewitching, wholesome, etc. Even the girls in the audience couldn't help but feel inadequate, envious, and jealous. Even Ren couldn't help but blush at their beauty. He couldn't look away like he had been bewitched, although Noar noticed and felt a pang in her chest.
"Ren…which of these maids is the prettiest?" Nora smiles while Ren hesitates, unsure whether to answer or if it's a trap.
"Are they players too? Look at their gear." Ruby's eyes sparkle in awe.
"Forget the maids! Who's that handsome? I wouldn't mind calling him Daddy." Yang stares at the butler with lustrous eyes, while both Blake and Weiss can't help but agree with Yang. By the time Blake could look, Jaune on the screen beat to it.
Jaune pops up the menu to see the names of the NPC before him.
"Oh yeah, I forgot his name was Sebas." He remembered then, he turned his attention to the maids behind him.
"And these are the combat Maids of the Pleiades. WhiteLace's personal creations. We intended them to be the last line of defense to the throne room, but in the end, no player did make it that far." He explains.
"Oh…so they're NPCs. Make sense. They are way too beautiful." Weiss snorted, but inside, she couldn't help but be envious.
"whose WhiteLace?" Yang turned to Blake.
"Professor Goodwitch," Blake replied, to which Yang laughed.
"If WhiteLace made the Maids, who made the butler?" Nora asks as Blake is way ahead of them. Curiousness takes over, and Blake searches for who created them.
As soon she found Sebas's name, she let out a small snort that Yang Heard and turned to Blake's surprise, followed by her sister, and now she became curious.
"What's up, kitty cat?"
"See for yourself." She handed the text to Yang while trying to hold in her laughter, while Ruby looked over her sister's shoulder and quickly skimmed through the text.
"His name is Sebas Tian, Leader of the Pleiades and Headbutler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, yada, yada, yada…. Arcadia's (Jaune) personal butler. He's a powerful Grotesques called a -" By the time Ruby finishes, Yang immediately shouts in surprise, her face flushing red.
"He's a Dragonoid?!" breathing heavily, Yang's mind soon fantasized herself with Sebas.
"Yang! Have some dignity!" Weiss hit Yang with a large folded paper fan, dropping the book. Ruby picked up and continued reading to find what made Blake laugh.
"OW! I was just joking! It's not like I'll get to meet him! Speaking of which. Hey Rube, did you manage to find-" Before Yang could finish, Ruby snorted loudly, trying to hold down her laughter, and handed the text back to Yang, confusing the older sister.
"You found it?"
"looked at who created him…" Ruby tries to hold in her laughter but struggles. This made the rest of the audience more curious and huddled over Yang while looking at the text.
"wait…"
"oh my…"
"no way…"
"you can't be serious!?"
"Pfftt…Hahaha! What kind of name is Touch Me! haha!" Yang laughs as she falls off her chair, followed by Nora.
"Hahaha! Why did he make it sound like he's a virgin! Hahaha!"
"No! I refuse that he would make such a name!" Weiss picked up the text in denial, trying to find an explanation or misprint in the text.
"I don't know, Weiss! He looks like he's coming to that certain age!" Ruby finally let go, laughing.
"I hate to say this, Weiss, but you can't deny it." Pyrrha tries not to be rude and holds in her laughter.
"Especially coming from a text from a higher being," Ren states.
"I still can't believe it..." Weiss falls on all four in defeat.
"How could a man...professor Ozpin...think of something such...vulgar has he have no shame." She cries.
"I should move them around one last time. It's the least I can do."
"[Follow Me]." Jaune ordered as the Sebas and the Pleiades bowed and followed their master. Seeing Jaune leading the group, he looked over his shoulder and saw the NPC following him.
"I'm sure the other guild members would forgive me for doing whatever I want, just for today." They walked down the hall till they reached a very detailed and ornate double door almost twenty feet high of obsidian, with each door carved detailed respectively of a demon on the left and a beautiful Goddess on the right.
"Wooow..." Ruby whispers in awe of such craftsmanship, and even Wiess is in awe and wishes to know who made it.
"Men looked so real they might jump out to attack," Nora exclaimed.
"I know, right! I thought they were going to attack." Yang agrees.
"Actually, according to this, they're golems that would attack intruders. Made by Lucifer the golem manic and prankster." Blake read from the text.
"Who's the player?" Ren asks curiously, referring to Lucifer.
"Dr Pietro Polendina." Blake replied.
"The Atlas scientists?" Wiess asked, surprised.
"Is he related to Penny?" Ruby whispers to herself curiously since Penny and Pietro have the same last name.
"You know him, Wiess?" Pyrrha ask.
"He's the head scientist of Atlas Military and General Ironwood's right-hand man. Surprisingly, a head Scientist would devolve into video games." Wiess explains.
"with a job and title like that, it would be stressful. Heck, I would play video games after a stressful day at work." Yang stretches her joints from the build-up of stress in her muscles.
"That's surprisingly smart of you, Yang." Blake crocked her brow, surprised by her partner.
The doors open to the room far more majestic than the rooms before, the Throne Room. The room was huge; hundreds could come in, and space would be left over. Large chandeliers made from precious metals and jewels that cast a dreamy sparkle of light covered the high and significant ceiling. On the walls hanging from the ceiling to the floor were large flags, each with a different crest, forty-one and all, hanging from the side of the room. On the far side of the room was a minor flight of ten stairs; on the top, a throne craved out from a giant crystal, its back particularly tall enough to reach the heavens. Behind it was a large scarlet tapestry bearing the Guilds Creast. This was the perfect place to spend the last moments of Yggistral in the game and approach his Throne as the Guild Leader.
"Now that's what I call a throne room," Nora stated excitedly.
"It's so beautiful..." Wiess remarks that in her years in Atlas architecture, its elegant design pales compared to the throne room.
"It sure gives the final boss vibes in video games," Ruby states while Yang and Ren nod in agreement.
"It must've taken a long time to make it," Blake said.
By the Throne stood a woman in a white dress with a glittering golden necklace like a spider web covering her shoulders and chest, her lustrous black hair opposite the black opposite of her dress reaching all the way to her waist. Arcadia couldn't help but be speechless. Not from her golden eyes with slit irises or horns curled on her head like a ram and black angel wings sprouting out from the back above her hips but from her beauty. If the Maids were beautiful, she's a Goddess of beauty.
"Albedo..." Arcadia's breath was taken away by such beauty that the girls in the audience couldn't help but be jealous and inadequate.
"OH COME ON!" Yang yells in jealousy.
"The Maids were enough! Why do you have to add the Goddess of beauty itself!" Nora chimed in.
"And why is her chest bigger?" Wiess vents in rage.
While Ruby patted her chest, it felt so inadequate, and Pyrrha's hands clenched tightly on her armrest, tearing the sole off. Ren passed out via nosebleed like Albedo's beauty literally knocked him out. Blake, however, came silent. Albedo may look calm and innocent, but Blake's Faunus senses are alarming her, telling her Albedo is dangerous and wouldn't hesitate to kill her.
He climbed the stairs and then turned to Sebas and the Maids. "the command was [stand by]. Right?" with the command, they bowed and formed a line awaiting their next order.
Seating on his Throne, he couldn't take his eyes off Albedo, and curiosity took hold as Arcadia opened his console with a list of the NPC floor guardians, looking for her backstory.
"Jaune's King of the castle, Jaune's King of the castle!" Nora proclaims in song.
"What were her settings again? As the highest ranking NPC in the Tomb of Nararick, she supervises all the guardians..." Then he found her info, and there's a lot of information.
"Oh, so she's like a second in command. Hey Pyrrha, does your team have a hierarchy?" Ruby asks
"no, I don't think so. It's not a bad idea to have in case Jaune is unavailable." Pyrrha replied, liking the idea.
"Yeah! I vote Pyrrha to be second command!" Nora exclaimed.
"Actually, I was thinking Ren should be second in command. He is more calm during battle," Pyrrha replied, which caught Ren by surprise.
"Well, I vote for P-money." Yang voted
"I agree with Yang. A skilled fighter like you should be Second in command, Pyrrha. What about you two? Who would you pick?" Wiess stated that Pyrrha felt a little embarrassed.
"I would pick Ren," Blake states, still reading the text.
"Same, Pyrrha strong, yes. But I think Ren is the better choice. No offense, Pyrrha." Ruby explains.
"oh no, I agree with you, Ruby." Pyrrha smiles as the score is tied to three to three, and they turn to Ren for his vote.
"It would be cheating if I voted for myself, and I would be hypocritical if I picked Pyrrha. So, I'll be undecided." Ren explains the theory.
Writing flooded his field of vision. As he scrolls down her, Lore is convinced it'll take a while. Her backstory is literally the length of an epic poem. He skims the bio with one big swipe to the bottom.
"Geez, this is long! Well, Tabula, the settings maniac, was the one who designed her." He notices that he is finally reaching the end, and the end of the page catches his attention, including the audience, stunned but also gleeful.
"SHE'S A BITCH."
"Pfftt hahahaha!" Yang laughed loudly, followed by Nora.
"Who would write that!?" Wiess said in disbelief but at the same time somewhat smiling inside.
"her creator is Tabula Smaragdina." Blake answered.
"No way...she's a bitch. Ahh..." Arcadia sighs expectedly.
"She loves making contradicting characters. I can't fault the girl for her taste, but still." Then, an idea pops his mind as he turns to the Ainz Ooal Gown staff.
"Normally, you need the creator's toolkit to change the settings, but since I have this..." he points the staff to the console allowing access to edit Albedo's bio, and erases "She's a bitch."
"Hmm...maybe I should add something..." he thought momentarily, then smiled at the idea and typed.
"She's deeply in love with Arcadia."
"HAHAHA!" both laughed even louder; they could barely stand as they both fell off their chairs.
"Vomit boy may not have in him, but Gamer boy sure does!" Yang remarks between laughing and struggling to get back to her seat. But Ruby and Pyrrha are both seething in rage and jealousy.
"Gamer boy...? Make sense." Ren nodded.
"eeeeeii! How embarrassing! I'm such a dork!" he places his hand on his face, embarrassed, stares back at Albedo's smile, then comes at ease and closes his console.
"We know Jaune." Blake smiles with a hint of laughter, followed by Ren.
"What was the command again? [Bow down]" he ordered as all the NPC in the Throne Room bowed to their king.
"Now, these are the relics of the past." He leans back on his Throne, looks up, and points to the banners.
"is it me, or did it get gloomy?" Nora ask
"It's not just you..." Ren replied, with the others agreeing the atmosphere was sad for Jaune.
"There's mine, Touch Me, Ankoro Mocchi Mochi, Herohero, Peroroncino, Nishikienrai, Bukubuku Chagama, Tabula Smaragdina, Warrior Takemikazuchi, WhiteLace, Ulbert Alain Odle..."
"Who are they?" Nora ask
"Must be the other guild members. Since we know Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch
Who are the rest?" Wiess ask
"First, there's Jaune and Professor Ozpin, we know. Than My MUM!" Blake shouted in shock at her mom but shook it off, remembering this was a different reality and continuing the list.
"Cardin, Qrow Branwen-"
"Uncle Qrow!" Ruby squeals excitedly as Blake continued
"My Dad, Summer Rose, Hera Nikos-"
"My mum!?" Ruby, Yang, and Pyrrha all called out surprise, interrupting Blake again but still continuing.
"Then finally, Professor Port, Professor Goodwitch, and Professor Oobleck."
"Wait, do they all know each other in real life?" Pyrrha asks curiously.
"No, only Jaune and Cardin know each other IRL," Blake replied.
"I have to admit, even though it is exciting that Jaune and the staff of Beacon are part of the Ainz Ooal Gown. It's kinda sad right now seeing Jaune alone, and there's no one there for him." Ruby frowns as the others agree on Ruby's point of view.
"It was fun...in fact...it was a blast." He remarks as he leans back and closes his eyes.
He opens his seeing his player HUD on the right side and the clock counting down.
"I have to wake up at four AM. I better crash after the server shuts down. I don't want to be a zombie in class." He sighed, closing his eyes with only the HUD and the time ticking.
23:59:57
23:59:58
23:59:59
"Looks like it's over," Ren said.
The screen turns black, but the screen then shows:
00:00:00
00:00:01
00:00:02
00:00:03
00:00:04
"Wait, what?" Nora noticed the clock was still ticking.
"why is the clock still going?" Wiess ask
"something is not right," Blake leers in suspicion.
Arcadia's eyes open, vastly surprised and confused, and he looks around the Throne Room and notices his missing HUD.
"Did the Devs push back the server shut down?" he tries to open his console like he did earlier, but the console didn't appear this time.
"where's my console? I can't use Chat or call a GM!?" Jaune said, more confused and starting to panic.
"what's going on!?" Jaune Exclaimed as he got up from the Throne.
"yeah! What's going on? Wait! Don't you think Jaune got SAO death? Did he?" Nora worries while the others come to the same conclusion and want answers. Then, a voice they never recognized called out to Arcadia, yet it was sweet and soothing, even concerned.
"Is there something wrong, Lord Arcadia?" he turns to the voice's origin, and to his shock, she calls him again.
"Huh!?"
"HUH!?" everyone was stunned.
"was that...?" Yang paused, yet still stunned.
"Lord Arcadia?" it was Albedo bewildered, stunning Jaune silent, processing what he just heard, while at the same time, the woman worried before him.
"Wait, what!?" everyone shouted in surprise.
"She can talk?" Ruby
"WAIT! Can they talk all this time?" Wiess asked Blake as she turned a few pages looking for answers and found the answer.
"It's impossible! According to this, NPCs made by players in Yggdrasil can't communicate with the player or other NPCs. As they don't have dialogue or speak freely." Blake read in panic.
"then how is she talking and looking so alive!?" Yang pointed.
"I have no idea," Blake replies
"Lord Arcadia, is everything alright? You seemed troubled, my lord." She stood and approached Jaune,
"If there's a matter, please let me know." his mind raced while his stare was elsewhere. Seeing Albedo's clasp hands press against her chest.
"Bitch!" This made the girls who fancied the blonde more furious and jealous. While Blake, Yang, Nora, and Ren notice, they keep their distance away, especially their redhead teammate, when she literally tore the armrest off the chair.
Then a bright green aura swept through Jaune, and immediately the shocked emotions he had vanished, immediately calm.
"what was that!?" Ren quickly tries to change the subject to distract the girl.
"Y-yeah! What was that, Blake?" Nora asks, pushing the text closer to Blake's face to "encourage" her to search for the answer, causing a scene to get the other's attention.
"come on, Blake! What is it? What is it!?" Nora continued to push till Blake finally got the message.
"It's a passive ability. It doesn't have a name, but it says here: due to Jaune's undead form if he gets too emotional, it immediately calms him down and makes him think more clearly." Blake explains.
"The GM call function isn't working," Jaune said in a deep, booming voice.
"holy crap, Gamer boy's voice sounds very-" Yang said, surprised.
"Mature..." Wiess interrupted Yang with a smile and more interest in Jaune than before from the last viewing.
"Really? He sounded more scarier to me." Ruby states.
"I think he sounds nice." Pyrrha smiles.
Albedo pulled back and gave a slight bow. "I'm sorry, it seems I have no answer. This GM call magic I'd beyond my comprehension." She apologized as Jaune saw her lips move, and words clearly came out.
"her mouth is moving!" Jaune Exclaimed internally
"I realize my failure to assist you is inexcusable. I don't deserve it, but I beg for your mercy, my lord!" she cries.
"I'm actually talking to an NPC!" he sat back down, thinking about what was happening.
"No way...it this a bug or program error?" he let go of the staff to see what would happen, but only to see it still stood up floating in place.
"Okay, the staff still function normally, but I can't use my console or contact the administrator. What should I do?" he cupped his chin and thought of an idea.
"Sabes," Arcadia calls out to the butler.
"Lord," Sabes responded with his head raised.
"is it okay to give him orders? Ah, screw it." Jaune hesitated but resolved.
"Sabes, step out of the great Tomb and confirm the surroundings of Nararick," Arcadia ordered with his booming voice of authority.
"by your command, my lord, I will return." He stood up and bowed before leaving. Then Arcadia turns to the Maids.
"Pleiades, I want you on the ninth floor. If anyone trespass, deal with them."
"As you ordered, my Lord, it shall be done." Yuri Alpha, the deputy leader, replied on behalf of her sisters and followed Sabes behind, leaving the Throne.
"Wow, no matter which world he's in, he's still a composed leader," Ruby said in awe, hoping to be like Jaune.
"Yeah! Jaune-Jaune is the best leader ever!" Nora cheers while her teammate nods in agreement.
"Please, that dunce isn't a good leader. Ruby would make a better leader than him." Wiess scoffs.
"Weiss, Jaune is the top leadership and tactics class student. And I must ask him to tutor me to help me catch up." Ruby defended Jaune.
"Well, it's nice to keep up your studies, Ruby, but you should be 2nd top student in class. So that's fine." Wiess smiles, then notices Ruby curled into a ball and her hood down to hide her face.
"Actually Weiss...Cardin is the 2nd top student, and I'm in last place." Ruby stutters in fear, not wanting to Face Wiess. Wiess felt her whole life shattered before her eyes and immediately grasped Ruby, and cartoony shook her, demanding answers.
"What!? HOW!? HOW DID CARDIN, THE BULLY!? BECAME THE 2ND TOP STUDENT IN LEADERSHIP AND TACTICS!? YOU SAID WINCHESTER WAS THE WORSE STUDENT IN CLASS!?"
"Well...that was last semester. Cardin asks Jaune to tutor him to help him pass the exam or force him to repeat the class. And I just recently joined Jaune's tutoring class with Cardin and Coco." Ruby cries.
"What!? Coco is in on it, too!? Why didn't you come to me!? I would've helped!?" Wiess exclaimed.
"I did! And it was why I was the worst student in class." Ruby cried.
"What!?" Wiess exclaimed in shock, as if she was shattered like glass and in regret that it was her fault Ruby was the worst student in the class and went to Jaune for help instead of her. She returned to her seat and curled herself into a ball in shame. While Ruby tries to cheer her up.
"They even respond that ain't native in the game. Just what in the world is going on?" Arcadia cupped his chin, trying to think of an explanation, then turned to Albedo, seeing smile at her master, stupefying his thoughts.
"Think, how do I call the administrator? The GM call function is busted. The message spells? Maybe…but that's only to contact other players, so there is a chance. But I'm not even sure if I could use magic."
"So, Lord Arcadia. Do you have orders for me to obey?" Albeo ask
"Let's see…I guess you can come here for a moment."
"Sure!" she smiles, overjoyed, and saddles right up closer, almost clinging to him, her beauty covering Jaune's view, surprising Jaune.
"Woah! She smells great! Wait, smell!? There wasn't a function like that in Yggdrasil."
"Albedo…may I touch you," Arcadia asked timidly.
"Damn, Gamer boy!"Yang proclaimed with a cheeky grin while Nora laughed.
"If he asked, I wouldn't mind..." Pyrrha whispers while seething in jealously.
"Yes…" she consented as Arcadia held her wrist and felt a pulse, and her warmth surprised the player Jaune even more, with more questions filling his mind.
"No way, she has a pulse! This is crazy. She's an NPC with an AI Program. Why does she feel so alive?" he looks up at Albedo. He can see himself in her glaciating pupils. Her cheeks were awfully flushed, and her body temperature was probably skyrocketing. Seeing these changes shook him, questioning how something made from data could become something alive. He begins to question if Yggdrasil came to reality.
"Okay, focus. Last test! I have to confirm this no matter the cost!"
"Albedo m-may…may I touch your chest?" Arcadia stutters nervously.
"Eh?" Albedo blinked, bewildered, while Jaune felt he might die from embarrassment, with the urge that he howled that he was the worst person.
"WHAT!?" Everyone shouted in sync.
"Damn!" Yand and Nora grin.
"Eh! This is necessary; play it cool and act natural like it's no big deal." he forcibly talked himself down and regained his mental equilibrium rather quickly. He muster up the corrosive powers of a superior.
"You don't meow-ind that, right?" Arcadia asked.
"You blew it, noob!" Jaune said with his jaw hanged.
Everyone laughed at the sight of their Jaune doing the same thing of asking to touch a woman's chest. It was so funny, especially with his jaw hanging. Even the jealousy from the women was washed away from their laughter.
"I can't breathe! I can't breathe!" Nora announced, laughing with Yang, who fell from her chair again.
"Gamer Boy is definitely the best version!" Yand said, still laughing.
"There's no sane woman in Remnant will ever allow that!" Wiess argues.
"Of course! Touch me as much as you wish." Her smile beamed even more, puffed out her chest, and her substantial breast thrust into Arcadia's face.
"A-ahh…" Arcadia's jaw slacked open as if it fell off from its hinge, and then slowly, he raised his hand hesitantly moved to Albedo's chest and gently caressed the soft mold.
"What!?" all the women, especially Wiess, yelled in denial while the laughter from Yang and Nora shifted from Jaune to now Wiess.
"Do you ever be Right, ice queen?" Yang smiles
"Cause it shows you are always wrong!" Nora tease.
"Ahh…!" in the admits of Albedo's sticky moaning, Jaune immediately got the information he was after.
"That whore!" the women who fall for the knight seething in pure jealousy, wish it was them and especially not Albedo. As it would be obvious who Jaune would pick.
"Let's think this through. That fact I'm doing something only reserved in a Hentai game means this isn't any version of Yggdrasil. And chances are slim that this is a new DMMO-RPG." Jaune thought while Albedo still moaning in the background.
"When Jaune put it that way, that makes sense." Ren agrees with Jaune's statement.
"What's a Hentai game?" Ruby asks
"When you're older, Rube," Yang replied
"But wait, what happens if a player did something like that in Yggdrasil?" Pyrrha asks curiously.
"Doing something rated R is strictly forbidden and will be banned by the developers, and your name will be viewed on a list of abusers on their website and their accounts suspended." Blake summaries from the text.
"is it possible that the virtual world became real suddenly?" Jaune questioned while Albedo still continued moaning in pleasure.
"Now way, that's nuts! But really talking to the NPCs, smelling their scent, touching them, all these things are impossible to program into games." He raised his head, and his eyes widened. He saw Albedo's flushed face with a pleased smile, surprising him, and he realized he had been fondling her longer than necessary.
"Hey! How long have I been fondling her!?" he panics, letting go of Albedo's chest.
"you just noticed!?" Wiess exclaimed in disbelief
"damn, Ice-queen. You need to chill if I know any better. You were wishing it was you, except you don't have the size to compensate." Yang laughs while Wiess's face turns red while protecting her modesty.
"Shut it, Yang! I don't want to hear that from you. For all I know, I bet you wanted to be in Albedo's position right now." Wiess argues while Yang smirks at Ruby's facepalm, knowing Wiess is adding more fuel to the fire.
"I don't know, maybe... based on Albedo's reaction. Bet Gamer Boy knows how to please a woman. And now I'm curious if Vomit Boy can deliver?" Yang teased while Wiess felt disgusted, Ruby sighed, saying, 'Should've seen that one coming.' Blake peeks out of the text with a crooked brow of curiosity. And Pyrrha leers to Yang, saying, 'Don't you dare.'
"A-Albedo, I'm sorry. I didn't mean t-"
"This is it!? Isn't it! You're going to take me right!" before Arcadia could finish, Albedo excitedly interrupted him with her elevated pants and her constant shakes of her body.
"Uh..." stunned, unable to process what he saw before him.
"oh! What should I do with my clothes!? Should I remove them on my own, or do you want to get rid of them yourself?" as she inched closer to Arcadia excitedly.
"Okay! Seriously!? Who or what is this woman!? No sane woman should act like that!?" Weiss shouts in frustration and turns to Blake for answers.
"Oh yeah, she's definitely venting," Yang grins.
"Blake! What does that book say about Albedo? Is she an angel? A demon? What is she!?" Weiss argues while Blake turns the pages to find Albedo's profile.
"oh? Well, that explains everything. It says here Albedo is a succubus." Blake replied while Weiss smiled with super superiority, now knowing Albedo was nothing more than a woman of excess. While Pyrrha is embarrassed that her mother would create such a character, Blake notices and helps her.
"if it makes you feel better, Pyrrha. Albedo is a virgin."
This shatters Weiss's superiority when Yang laughs at the information.
"Wait, wait! She's a succubus but a virgin! Haha! That doesn't make any sense." Yang laughed at the irony.
"Woah! Hold on a moment, Albedo, this isn't right!" Arcadia raised his arms, stopping Albedo, and quickly changed the subject as he coughed at his close fist.
"Now's not the time to be doing such things." This causes Albedo to move back, surprise.
"I'm so sorry, Lord Arcadia!" she pleaded.
"it is fine Albedo. I forgive you completely." He reassured her with a calming tone.
"More importantly, I have orders for you."
"it'll be my pleasure to serve you," she smiles excitedly.
"Except the guardians of the 4th and 8th floors, I want everyone to gather at the 6th-floor fighting arena. Have them gathered in one hour." He orders.
"eee! We get to see more guardians!" Nora squeals excitedly.
"I wonder if they carry cool weapons," Ruby squeals excitedly.
"Please, let them not be like Albedo." Weiss sighs in exhaustion.
"as you wish, my lord." She bows before leaving Arcadia's presence as he contemplates in regret.
"This is terrible. Tabula... I can't believe I took the NPC you made and tainted her like that." He refers to the harmless prank, changing her settings with bold words, 'and she's deeply in love with Arcadia.'
He looked at his staff and called it back to his hand. He looked up the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown as the main culprit, letting him do it. He shakes his thoughts out.
"Dammit, I'll worry about that later. I have many other problems to take care of first. But first..." The scene changes to a dark forest and a large oak tree before him. But unlike any other oak tree, this tree is the largest on the floor. It was used to build a home with doors and windows, using the term tree house figuratively and literally. This is the home of the Guardians of the 6th floor. But the area glows a soft hue of pink light. [The tree house on the 6th floor].
"Jaune teleported!?" Nora exclaimed, surprised.
"must be thanks to the Ring Jaune is wearing. All members must have one to easily move around in the Tomb." Ren guess.
"What is that?" Weiss pointed to the oak tree, unsure what to call.
"isn't obvious Weiss...it's a tree-house...eh? Eh?" Yang jest, yet the pun didn't deliver.
"I always wanted a tree house. But Dad never let us have one." Ruby pout.
"yeah, Dad was too embarrassed that he's not the handyman but more of the house husband." Yang smiles, patting Ruby's head.
"It worked!" he stared at the gold ring with a large ruby on his right ring finger, bearing the sigil of Ainz Ooal Gown. The Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown.
"The ring's teleportation ability has no issues. I can still use my items."
He turned to the source of the pink light. In front of the tree house bathing in the moonlight was a large statue of rare gems that could be made from rubies that enhanced the moonlight and lit up the area of soft pink light. Place on top of an elevated pedestal what could be best described as another Slime.
"Wow...it's so beautiful...what's that statue made from?"Ruby is awed along with the other women, yet Blake seems immune and searches the text.
"The material used to make the statue is a rare magic crystal called Blood mana stones. Extremely rare and used to make rare to god-tier items. Also, Ruby, I think you and Yang should prepare." Blake replied.
"prepare for what?" Yang's brow crooked to Blake, but she looked away.
Compared to Herohero's avatar, this slime is bigger than half the size of Arcadia, and what could best be described by Peroroncino is an "Odd-looking pink flesh." Arcadia approached the statue, placed a hand on the pedestal, and looked up at the statue with both a sigh of relief that the statue was still there and grief as he looked up to the statue.
"Bukubuku Chagama..." he stayed silent for a moment of nostalgia, remembering how many times he visited and times with the pink slime. Constantly redecorating, renovating, improving the treehouse, and dressing up the guardians of the 6th level. She has always wanted to make a treehouse in IRL since she lived in Patch. Arcadia couldn't help but chuckle, remembering the time helping Bukubuku Chagama gather resources. She would ask Arcadia to find her materials during her constant process of brainstorming ideas. Every time he returned with the items, she would add another item, where the spawn rate of the items lowered, and the challenging rate of mobs increased difficulty.
It got to a point she didn't need the delivered items in the first place and could use everyday items that were easier to find, which caused Jaune to be furious and refuse Bukubuku Chagama to use shitty common loot. That turns into an argument altogether.
He then noticed the vines overgrown, covering the pedestal and the plaque. He picked the vines off, dusted the plaque with his bony hand, and read the plaque, and the grief he felt earlier grew even more.
"IN THE LOVING MEMORY OF BUKUBUKU CHAGAMA.
SUMMER ROSE
LOVING MOTHER, LOVING WIFE, LOVING FRIEND
AND
SISTER OF AINZ OOAL GOWN"
"Mum..." Ruby cries.
"So, in this reality too..." Yang comforts her sister.
This statue was a memorial of Bukubuku Chagama, and Arcadia still remembers when his best friend Peroroncino announced she had passed away. At first, the members thought it was one of his pranks, as Peroroncino was known for. But when Touch Me and WhiteLace confessed they knew Bukubuku Chagama in IRL, they confirmed Peroroncino. The Guild broke down, and Bukubuku Chagama was one of the original nine of the Guild. She was the one who held the Guild together and mediated when members argued, hence the title the Mom of Ainz Ooal Gown.
The Guild held a funeral and used the rarest materials to build the statue in front of the home of her precious creations as a reminder that she's always looking out for us.
"Even in video games, Mom always looked out for everyone." Ruby wipes her tears with a smile, along with Yang, her team, and Team JPNR.
"it was nice they held a funeral in her honor." Weiss smiles at the formality.
"believe it or not, it was Jaune's idea for both the funeral and the memorial," Blake replied
"thank you, Jaune..." Ruby cries again with tears of Joy.
"damn, Gamer boy...you sure know how to get to a girl's heart." As Yang wipes a tear off.
Speaking of her creations, Jaune remembered what he originally came here to do and walked away for the statue. But before teleporting, he looked back at the statue one last time.
"Don't worry Bukubuku Chagama. I promise...I'll protect them." He teleported again, and this time, he found himself in a dimly lit hallway. And see the gate of the arena entrance and head to the gate.
"Albedo and the other NPCs are still loyal like their program is." The gate opens, letting Arcadia enter the arena.
"So, what about the other characters" Jaune looked up to see the 6th fighting arena and the starry night sky. The arena was large and was structured like the Vytal arena but twice as big. The sky was nothing like the starry night in Remnant, seeing a beautiful milky way before them.
"You never see Stars like that in Atlas." Weiss is in awe of such beauty.
"Yeah, you can't even see this in Menagerie." Blake admires the starry sky.
"Did my mum make this?" Ruby was in awe, wishing she could see a starry night like this every night."
"No, another player made it called BluePlanet. As is an admirer of nature and a background concept designer for comic books and indie video games." Blake replied.
"The twin dark elves that Chagama created should be here. Where are they?" Jaune reached the center of the arena, looking for them in concern since he'd taken care of them after promising Bukubuku Chagama's grave.
He noticed something peeking out at the VIP booth that looked ten stories high, then leaped out, Flipping in mid-air and landing a featherlight.
"Crushed it!" she flashed a smile with double peace signs.
"Nice. I give it a ten for its landing strategy style and ten for the entrance. " Nora pronounced.
"aw, he's so cute!?" Weiss awe to the young boy.
"Hey, I just realized something. If Mum created him, does that make him our brother?" Ruby squealed excitedly.
"When you put it like that, that makes kinda sense." Pyrrha nods.
"Sweet! I finally have a little brother; with an added bonus, he's cute!" Yang cheer.
"Actually, guys, that's not a boy. That's a girl." Blake corrected them, disappointing Weiss and Yang but not bothering Ruby or the others.
She's a child who looks around her early teens with dark tan skin and pointed ears, as these are the signature traits of her race, the Dark Elves. She has golden hair and heterochromia eyes. Her left eye is blue, and her right eye is green. Wearing a red dragon scale leather covered by a white and gold vest embroidered with the sigil of Ainz Ooal Gown. Below it is a matching set of white trousers and gold-plated shoes, and around her neck is an acorn necklace emitting golden light. She is equipped with a whip around her waist like a belt with a bit of excess hanging at the back of her hip like a tail and a giant, decorated bow hanging on her back.
"Aura," Arcadia calls out as she rushes towards him with an exciting smile.
"We're honored to have you, Lord Arcadia. Welcome to the 6th-floor amphitheater." She bowed with a soft smile. Jaune couldn't help but pet her on the head like an excited puppy, surprising her with the unexpected gesture that Jaune overlooked. As he withdrew his hand away, Aura pouted, wanting more but not showing it.
"Sorry, Aura. I'll only be intruding for a little while."
"You must be joking, right? You are the great ruler of the Tomb of Nararick. Your power here is absolute. There isn't a guardian that would ever consider you an intruder, least all my brother and I." Aura said
"wait, brother?"
"Yes! We have a brother! If our sister is this cute, our brother should be even cuter!" Ruby cheer.
"Speaking of." Arcadia looks around for the younger brother.
Aura noticed and looked back at the VIP booth, where she jumped off. "Mare! You're being rude to Lord Arcadia! Stop cowering and get down from there!"
She shouts as a head pops out of the VIP booth. "Sis, I'm scared! Come one!"
"Awe, he's timid, that's adorable." Weiss smiles excitedly to see the proclaimed little brother.
"Watch it, Ice-queen, he may not be in our reality, but I'm damn sure the other me won't let you go near him." Yang's protective older sister is showing.
"hmmph." Weiss pouts.
"MARE!" Aura shouted at the top of her lungs, forcing her brother to comply.
"Okay, okay, fine, I'm coming." He jumped off the booth but almost tripped on the landing, quickly rushing to her master and sister.
Like his twin, Mare is also a dark elf with the same golden hair and heterochromia eyes, except his right eye is blue, his left eye is green, and his pointed ears drooped down.
He wears a blue dragon scale leather full-body suit, covered by a white and gold vest embroidered with the sigil of Ainz Ooal Gown and a forest green-leaf cloak. Below, he has a matching short white skirt exposing his thighs, and on his neck is an acorn necklace emitting silver light. His slender hands are donned with shiny white silk gloves, and he wields a twisted black wooden staff.
"wait, didn't they say earlier Mare is a boy?" Nora asks, surprised to see the elf in question running in a skirt.
"Maybe they misspoke?" Ren guess.
"No, Mare is a boy. It says that Ruby's mom made him to be a cross-dresser and Aura to be more of a tomboy. Both were inspired by twin siblings she was acquainted with, Qrow Branwen and Raven Branwen." Blake explains.
"Wait, Your uncle is a cross-dresser?" Pyrrha asked, surprised that she had heard from Jaune that Qrow had picked a fight with Weiss's older sister and won. It didn't match the description.
"No, it was actually a prank. Uncle Qrow was tricked into wearing a skirt when he was a student in Beacon." Ruby laughs at the story.
"we're getting old here."
"I'm hurrying!" he winced, reaching his sister and Arcadia.
"I apologize for making you wait, Lord Arcadia." He bows.
"oh, my gods! Even though his a cross-dresser, he's so damn cute I wanted to hug him so badly!" Yang cries and wanting to hug Mare, she takes the closest thing she got, her sister.
"Yang, I can't breathe!" Ruby exclaimed, trying to pry herself from her sister.
"It's fine. Now, I would like the two of you to help me with something." Arcadia said while looking at the staff with a tap from the staff, gesturing at the twins. Jaune was inwardly pleased with what he anticipated from the twins.
"Amazing! Is that the legendary item that would only bend to your will, Lord Arcadia, the fabled weapon of the Tomb?" Mare's eyes sparkled with awe.
"Indeed, it was created by the combined efforts of the guild's past members, a testament of our dedication, The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown." Arcadia raised the staff.
"Each stone on the mouths of the seven crowning snakes is a god-level artifact. On top of that, the staff's power transcends God's level." Arcadia explains as the view shows the staff in all its glory.
"So cool!" Ruby's eyes sparkle like stars.
"I have to admit. The staff is beautiful in its own way." Wiess appraised.
s"Honestly, I'm worried about what would happen if that staff went to the wrong hands." Ren worries about its power.
"Don't Ren worry. The staff will only respond to the guild master. Anyone who tries will be killed on the spot." Blake reassures Ren.
The twins are in awe at the staff level.
"It's truly legendary. Its base states are on par with a world-level item. In fact, DPS alone could one shot a ..." Realising Arcadia is getting carried away, he quickly stops coughing to his close hand, trying to look professionally fitting for a ruler.
"Wow, I never thought Gamer Boy would be a weapon nut like Ruby. Who knows, maybe they'll get along and get married." Yang jokes with a chuckle.
"YANG!?" Ruby's face flushed red while trying to hide it beneath her hood.
"Umu, well anyway, that's how it is." He remarked.
"Incredibly..." Mare awe
"Awesome! It's so cool!" Aura exclaimed
"I would like to run some tests with it," Arcadia said, snapping the twin back to reality as they both came more excited to see the weapon in action.
"Right! We won't let you down, my lord." Arua smiles, followed by a nod.
"Also, Aura, I called the other guardians to meet here. They should be here within an hour."
"Huh? Does that mean Shalltear is coming?" Aura asks concern.
"Shalltear? Another guardian? Haa... please let it not be another Albedo." Wiess groans, not to see another crazed woman.
"Who do you think this Shalltear would look like?" Pyrrha questioned.
"Won't the book say anything, Blake?" Yang asks
"No, we usually have to see a person in question before their Data can appear in this book. Must be a way to prevent spoilers." Blake explain.
"make sense. What would be the point of watching these viewings if we can just look at the book." Ren agreed.
"I bet Shalltear is like a werewolf, hence the name Shall-tear." Yang smiles while her friends boo on the dumb pun.
"I think Shalltear is a spirit who died losing the love of her life." Blake guess.
"I think she's a monster who's a natural enemy to Dark Elves based on Aura's reaction." Weiss astute the situation.
"no way! Shalltear is vampire!" Nora howled in horror, trying to frighten the others but to no avail.
"Yes..." he nods, noticing the concerned look on her face, trying to remember. Do the guardians have bad blood between them?
The scene changes when we see two large dragonkins preparing straw dummies. Jaune waits on the field while the twins wait on stand-by by the side, watching their lord.
"Woah, what are those?" Yang pointed.
"Dragonkins, bipedal lizards, can grow to the size of an alpha beowolf and be stronger, too. All creatures on the 6th floor are either Aura's pets or Mare's minions." Blake read.
"In Yggdrasil, if you want to conjure magic, you just have to click the appropriate icon on your console. But now that icon doesn't exist. However, I don't need it if I focus hard enough." Jaune explains as the two dragonkin return to the twins.
"I feel the attack range of my spells and their individual cool-down rate, even how much MP I have. I can do this!" he raises with a wave of the staff.
"Come on, fearless leader! Give us one he'll of a show!" Nora cheers.
"[SUMMON: PRIMAL FIRE EMELENTAL!]" the red jewel of the staff glow, igniting the two straw dummies into a swirling vortex, spreading its heat and flames out on the arena. While the two dragonkins protect the twin. Meanwhile, the flickers of purple energy are rippling on Arcadia's protective barrier from the flames.
"oh wow!" Mare exclaimed while Aura gasped in awe of such power. The same can be said for the audience.
Finally, the flames disburst and took form with only a torso with the head of a raging bull as it let out a mighty roar.
"The Primal Fire Elemental. It's level is in the upper 80s." Arcadia explains while the twins walk close to their lord in awe of their lord's power.
"so cool! Jaune sure knows how to put up a show." Ruby exclaimed.
"Amazing..." Pyrrha awed.
"So, would you like to fight it?"
"Yeah! I love to!/Yeah! I love to!" both Aura and Yang exclaimed excitedly.
"Do you think we can take it on?" Weiss asks concern.
"If we're close to a water source, maybe, Blake, does that book say anything about the Elemental?" Ren asks.
"According to this book, they are powerful enough to take down a Goliath Grimm single-handedly. So no, I don't think we got what it takes to beat one. Even with a water source close by." Blake states.
"Not with that attitude!" Nora smiles.
"I just remembered I have a few errands I need to attend to bye-" Mare tries to walk away, but Aura stops him as she grips his shoulder.
"come on." She smiles while Mare cries, not wanting to participate.
"Oh, my gosh! Even if he's a scary cat, he's so cute that you want to protect him so badly." Ruby was awed, and then a thought came into mind.
"I know, right!" Yang agreed
"Wait...is this what it feels like to be an older sibling?" Ruby came excited at the realization, but Blake interrupted.
"Hate to ruin your moment, Ruby, but it says here that Aura and Mare were both created before Yang was born. So in this situation-"
"I'M STILL THE YOUNGEST!" Ruby cried.
"There, there, Rubes," Yang calms her but internally cries that she, too, is her younger sister.
Aura pulled out her metal whip, gripping it with both hands to hear the snap while Mare cowered behind her, ready for support.
"Primal Fire Elemental, attack the Dark Elf Twins!" Arcadia commanded with his staff, and without hesitation, the beast roared and spewed flames charging for the twins. Aura leaped forward at breakneck speed, dodging the fire elegantly and rashly, attacking the fire elemental with her whip, and splitting the elemental into two. It merged whole and aimed to punch Aura.
"[magic shield]!" Mare cast the spell as a green bubble around Aura, blocking the attack from the elemental. Aura retaliates, slashing the Elemental again while Mare supports his sister, granting her protection and buffs.
The scene changes back to Arcadia, watching the twins battling the Elemental effortlessly, not worried. "I had a feeling this would be easy for them. Now I Know my other magis skills work as well, but…"
"[Message]" Arcadia cast while putting two fingers on his temple. But you only receive a tone beep when you hear of a phone hang-up on you.
"no good, I can't connect to a GM or my guild mates."
Arcadia looked back to the fight, seeing how the twins were doing. The elemental spewed fire at Aura while she ran from the flames, and Mare cast another magic shield to protect his sister. Finally, his message was connected, snapping his attention away from the twin by surprise.
"[I'm here, is there something you need Lord Arcadia?]"
"my message spell connected!?"
"Sebas, how are things look on the outside?" Arcadia asked.
The scene changes when Sebas stands on an open grass field blowing a gentle breeze.
"Well...lord, there's a slight problem..." Sabes replied solemnly to his lord as Arcadia nodded.
"That's always never a good sign." Weiss sighed from her past experience with her butler, Klein.
"I'm at the 6th-floor fighting arena. You can report there when you arrive."
"Understood, lord," Sebas replied, and as on cue, Arcadia noticed the fire elemental disburst, leaving the twins unscathed and rushing to Arcadia.
"They beat the fire elemental!" Nora cheers.
"expected from my older siblings." Yang chimed.
"yeah! Seeing Aura using her whip and slashing the elemental, Mare uses a 'magic shield' to support Aura. *gasp*! We totally need to do that for our team combos!" Ruby gasped at the idea.
"well done! That was exactly battle." He praises the twins.
"that was fun. I never exercise like that for a while." Aura smiles.
"You two must be thirsty." Arcadia slipped his hand into a small tear in space. It took his entire hand, pulled out a pitcher of cold water with two glasses, passed it to the twins, and poured it until each glass was filled.
"Woah! How did he do that?" Nora exclaimed, surprised and curious.
"It's Jaune's inventory. Just simply thinking of the item he's after, and he can grab it and pull it out." Blake summaries from the book.
"how much stuff can he store in his inventory?" Wiess asks curiously.
"The storage is limitless, but Jaune doesn't leave all his stuff in fear of forgetting about it," Blake replied.
"Can he put a person in there?" Yang asks curiously and mischievously.
"yeah. If you can breathe the vacuum of space."
"Never mind."
Aura was the first to take a gulp, feeling the refreshing chill water, followed by Mare. As they finished and refreshed, they returned the glasses to their master.
"I have to be honest, Lord Arcadia. I thought you would be scarier." Aura spoke.
"With a body like that, he does." Ruby agrees.
"Honestly, people will think he's an ancient Grimm if they see him." Wiess points out.
"Oh? Is that so... I can do that if you like me to." As he returns the pitcher and glasses back to the void.
"I like you this way. It's the best." Aura smiles, and then a large void of purple opens, and figures emerge.
"My, my... it seems I'm the first to arrive." It sounded younger than expected tone. Her body is covered in a soft Raven black with a bright tint of a purple ball gown with a whole wide skirt. She covered up in a Valerio cardigan with frills and purple ribbons. Covering her entire body to not show her skin, except above her neck. Her face is pale of white, while her hair shines of silver, and her Ruby eyes stand out with her slit irises. A matching color bonnet on her head and a black and purple parasol in her hands.
"Hey Wiess, look! Your long lost twin!" Yang jokes.
"First off, hey! And secondly, what makes you think we're related?" Wiess argues.
"You really want the answer to that?" Blake replied with a deadpan expression.
"Well, you both have pale skin and white hair, wear costly clothing, talk all high and mighty, and believe you're superior to others." Nora listened while Wiess felt she'd been stabbed by anime arrows.
"And you're literally flat as a board while she has the bigger chest size," Nora added with a smile, which made Wiess's face flush red.
"S-she probably stuffed her bra!? An elegant, petite body like ours can't have breasts that big." Wiess argues.
"She admitted it?!" Everyone thought with a sweat drop.
"I don't have the foggiest idea of what's happening. But the NPC are all loyal to me. And in that case, I should probably keep playing my role and act like superior in front of them." Jaune thought while the pale beauty approached, talking to Aura and Mare.
"While I'm at it, I'll learn everything I can about this world. I was Max level in Yggdrasil. I wonder how strong I'll be here? And if this is another, how do I get back?" he saw both pale beauty and Aura arguing while Mare watched between them, then turned in the opposite direction like someone cut in their argument.
The figure reveals an eight-foot tall bipedal insect with four arms and a halberd in one hand. The tall bipedal insect looked like a combination of a demonic praying mantis and an ant, with two large icicle shards protruding out of his back and a sturdy tail twice its height with large mandibles that easily crush human bone.
"Woah!? What's that thing?" Nora exclaimed excitedly.
"Probably another NPC," Ren replied.
"Could this be what happened to dose SAO deaths victims? Am I dead, and my conscience transferred to my avatar along with the Guild during the shutdown?"
The scene then changed to see Albedo walking towards them with a well-dressed man in an orange pinstripe suit with a tie, dressed like a gentleman, with a thin frame, round glasses, black gloves, and a combed black hair, and demonic tail of that of a scorpion with six small protruding spikes at the end of his tail.
"They must be the other Guardians." Ruby awed.
"I thought they were more monsters? But they're surprisingly more...normal." Wiess pointed out.
The guardians gathered before their lord, Albedo, leading the group.
"My Lord...we, the Guardians..." she spoke towards Arcadia as his entire body emitted a dark purple aura of despair with a sizeable dark halo on his back while his golden eyes glowed.
"Pledge our Fidelity," Albedo exclaimed with the guardians behind her in line in order of their floor from left to right as one took their step and pledged their loyalty.
"I am the Guardian of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shalltear Bloodfallen." She kneels and looked up to her master with a seductive smile. "I serve and obey."
"GUARDIAN. OF. THE. 5TH. FLOOR. COCYTUS. I. SERVE. AND. OBEY." He kneels, proclaiming his loyalty as he exclaims a gust of cold air.
"I am the Guardian of the 6th floor, Aura Bella Fiora." Aura steps forward with a smile as Mare follows behind.
"I am her Brother, the Guardian of the 6th floor, Mare Bella Fiora." The twin kneels in sync. "We serve and obey." Both proclaim in synchronized.
"Guardian of the 7th floor, Demiurge." He kneels for perfection. "I serve and obey."
"And the leader of the Guardians, Albedo." She smiles as she kneels elegantly. "I serve and obey."
Seeing all the guardians kneeling, their loyalty to their master and surprise being.
"other than Victim, who faithfully guards the 8th floor, and Gargantua, who guards the 4th, all the guardians have gathered as requested and pledged their undying loyalty," Albedo exclaimed and raised her head facing her lord, seeing his dark Aura still up.
"Supreme one, we await your orders. You need but to ask of us, and it shall be done!" she proclaimed while the view changed to the guardians, then slowly back to Arcadia's face as his golden eyes lit up and glowed. The screen turns black.
"that was awesome! Especially when he used his magic!" Ruby squeals excitedly.
"I know, right!?" Yang agrees.
"That was intense." Nora sighs in relief.
"I wonder what Jaune will do? Blake, does it say anything?" Wiess asks,
"No, it's just data on what we saw so far," Blake replied.
"Speaking of which, where's Izzy? He's been gone for a while." Ren asks, Looking over the theatre.
"Now that you mentioned it, he's been gone for quite a while. I wonder what's keeping him?" Ruby asked. Then, suddenly, the screen returned to life, continuing where it had left off.
Meanwhile:
Chains rattle, and links tighten, suspend, and wrap onto limbs of its captured hostile visitors above a silk red carpet lay across the hallways, which best describes a museum of weapons and artifacts that hail variant realities of Jaune Arc. The masked host patted the dust off his shoulders and straightened his vest before facing his "chained" visitors with his hands behind his back. The visitors weren't the ones he was expecting and, simultaneously, concerned.
"When I felt the presence of more guests appearing in my Domain. I expected it to be Team CFVY, SSSN, or CRDL. But to see the two oppositions of the brother's shadow game. This is concerning, especially when both players see their opposition's hand this early. Especially the fourteen of you or twelve, if you count cowardly Bandits." Izzy looks up, seeing the two Factions suspended and wrapped in chains as some struggle to break free, while their respected leaders simply listen to their host as they both know these chains are impossible to break even with their magic.
They know these chains are made from the divine, and the chains' power is greater than the Brother Gods. The Mask Men is an enigma they had never seen or heard from, but they can tell by looking and feeling that he is far more powerful than the brother gods. Enough to destroy Remnant if he pleases.
"But I believe an introduction is in order…."
He outstretched one arm, then elegantly bowed while a gentle wave of his arm swept into an arc before placing his hand into his chest, like a loyal butler bowing servitude to their master, which confuses the two groups.
"I am the God of Realities and Custodian of Realities...you may Call me Izzy. Welcome to my Domain."
AN: Hi guys, another chapter is done, and more to go. The next chapter will be more of an Intermission chapter than a Viewing chapter. And I'm surprised that most of the reviews already knew this chapter was Overlord. And Yes, I know initially it was supposed to be Momonga, not Arcadia, and yes, there is a story behind it. See, in this reality, SAO, SLF, and Overlord are in one reality of what they are with a twist. And yes, I'm planning some future chapters for SLF. Thanks for your support. Please leave a follow, a like, and a review. Izzy out.
