Chapter 8:

Tinker, Debbie, and Mark all sat down. "Why didn't you tell us Speed was alive," asks Debbie.

"I didn't want anyone to find out," says Tinker, "I mean, I made mahself a car and brought him to life! It ain't exactly a common thing!"

"He's not just sentient," says Mark, "he even has thoughts and feelings! That AI you made is really impressive!"

"I don't know what went wrong in that race," says Tinker.

"I think I know," says Mark, "someone must've taken control of Speed!"

"But who," asks Tinker.

"You guys know how my aunt's going to have to sell her ranch," asks Debbie, "I didn't mention it before? Well, I think the buyer might be it!"

"Let's go to this ranch," says Mark.

...

The three drive Speed to Debbie's aunt's ranch.

"Hey, what's that on the wall," asks Tinker.

"Oh, that's my aunt's most prized possession," says Debbie, "I think it's like one piece of a Planispheric Disk or something!"

"Well, look what we got here," says Beefinger as he and his animals enter.

"Beefinger," asks Mark, "the most wanted man in Blugonia?"

"Wait… you're the buyer," asks Debbie.

"One disguise and your auntie never found out," says Beefinger, "by the way, is this yours?" He holds out the carburetor.

"Speed's carburetor," says Tinker.

"So, you're behind what happened," says Mark.

"That's right," says Beefinger, "and now, this goes!" He smashes the carburetor.

"NO," shouts Tinker.

"Pleasure doin' business with ya!" Beefinger and his animals then leave.

Tinker, Debbie, and Mark look at the pieces and Tinker begins to cry.
