[New Bark Town/Day: Lincoln and Crystal]
(Hyrule Town Remaster - Legend of Zelda Minish Cap - Remaster by Baptiste Robert)
Crystal and Lincoln had become good friends to the point they shared secrets, as much to an extent. Crystal brightened up to Lincoln as she understood that Lincoln was not from around here, but rather from America in the Era of 2020's, which to her surprise, it technically made her older than him. Although this was shocking news, Professor Elm decided to study the phenomenon on the side while he employed Crystal to be a helper for him.
Crystal might've found a reason why Lincoln was there; according to the books, Lincoln was summoned by Celebi. If that meant to be by something, it could mean that Lincoln was destined to go to the past, and to achieve something. But this was all too bizarre.
After 5 Days of studying and helping, another Trainer by the name of Klaus had received a Pokémon, Cyndaquil.
Cyndaquil was a small quadrupedal Pokémon that resembled an echidna. They were covered with a flame-resistant fur that was dark blue in color on its back to its head and light yellow on its underside. There were also four red spots of fur on the back that flames can be projected from.
However, when Lincoln and Crystal went on break to go to lunch and while Professor Elm was studying Cell Division, somebody took Totodile.
Totodile was a small Pokémon that appeared as a bipedal crocodile. While most of a Totodile's body was turquoise, they had a yellow, V-shaped marking across their chest, red eyes and raspberry spikes that go down its back to its tail. These Pokémon were well known for their large mouths, filled with razor-sharp teeth.
Which meant Lincoln couldn't get a Pokémon…
Upon calling Klaus for help, Klaus encountered the thief and tried to stop him. Though he beat the thief, the thief got away, but not before Klaus got the thief's Trainer ID, which meant if he lost it, the thief could be considered an illegal threat or an outsider, which could result in serious consequences.
Heading back to New Bark Town, Klaus gave the Police the Trainer ID as Crystal and Lincoln now identified the thief as Silver Giovanni, but Giovanni was scribbled out, though Lincoln could already decipher it. The Police left with the information.
"This is TERRIBLE NEWS…!" Professor Elm looked worried. "I haven't lost a Pokémon like this! What if the thief comes back!"
"Relax, Professor." Klaus reinsured the Professor. "I think he'll be back for his ID. I don't think Silver wouldn't go out without his Trainer ID, wherever he is."
"I just need a break…" Professor Elm sighed, depressed. Just as a Pokéball left from his position. "Huh? Oh!"
"What is it, Professor?" Lincoln asked.
"You see, Lincoln. I saved this Pokémon for you. Despite it being from another region, it's the best gift for you!" Professor Elm replied with a wobbly grin. "Allow me to present to you, Scorbunny!"
Professor Elm summoned Scorbunny.
Scorbunny looked like a small white rabbit with reddish-orange patches at the tips of his ears and feet and light yellow rectangles both on his face right between the eyes and the soles of his feet. He had short stubby arms with small 3-fingered hands. His legs were long with small fluffy feet with 3 toes each. Around his neck was a small red collar-like ruff. His head was larger than his body and featured tufts of fur on his cheeks. In the back was a small poof-like tail.
The Scorbunny looked at Lincoln as Lincoln knelt down and pet him. "He's… perfect…!"
"(Oh hello!)" Scorbunny smiled as he was being petted.
Klaus scanned Scorbunny with his new Pokédex.
"Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon. A Fire Type. A warm-up of running around gets fire energy coursing through this Pokémon's body. Once that happens, it's ready to fight at full power. It has special pads on the backs of its feet, and one on its nose. Once it's raring to fight, these pads radiate tremendous heat."
Lincoln smiled as he was given Scorbunny's Pokéball just as Loki was bouncing up and about just as he tumbled a beaker, breaking it.
"(Oops!)" Scorbunny sheepishly smiled.
"I think I'll call you Loki!" Lincoln smiled as Scorbunny and Lincoln fistbumped.
"Hey you!" A voice called from the Window just as Lincoln screamed, as like he normally does in situations when Lucy comes by. "Give me back my Trainer ID!"
"Make me!" Klaus barked at him as Silver got through the window.
"So you're the thief!" Professor Elm was surprised.
Silver looked at Lincoln as he remembered that orange shirt anywhere from the lab, and then he saw Loki, Lincoln's Scorbunny. "… You got a Pokémon at the Lab. What a waste. That's a Pokémon that's too good for a wimp like you."
"I believe YOU'RE a THIEF!" Lincoln barked back at Silver. "I will take care of Loki! But first we're gonna take care of you until the police return!"
"I won't let that happen!" Silver loaded his Pokéball. "Let's battle for my Trainer ID!"
"You're on!" Lincoln called out.

!Battle! - Lincoln Loud Vs Silver Giovanni
…
[Silver wants to Battle with Lincoln!]
"Let's go, Totodile!" Silver called out as he summoned the stolen Totodile!
"Let's get 'em, Loki!" Lincoln pointed forward at Silver.
"(I'm here to fight!)" Silver's Totodile roared.
"(Not if I have anything to say about it!)" Loki kicked up in the air.
"(What Pokémon are you?! I don't remember seeing you here in the lab?!)" Totodile looked puzzled.
…
Ready…?! BATTLE BEGIN!!
…
"Start it off with Scratch!" Silver ordered.
'When trying to dodge attacks, it's best to call them after the Trainer calls out their attack! Though inexperienced Pokémon need directions how." Lincoln's Memory flashed before his eyes as Lincoln called out his order.
"Dodge to your left, Loki!" Lincoln called out. Just as Totodile came in with a clawing right chop, Loki dodged to his left. "Now, Tackle!"
Loki then kicked Totodile with both of his feet as Totodile was kicked back.
"'Atta boy, Lincoln!" Klaus cheered.
"You can do this, Lincoln!" Crystal cheered for her friend.
"Just a lucky hit…" Silver huffed.
Lincoln was stuck with a nerve based on luck as he got angered. "We'll see how you like THIS, Giovanni! Loki! Ember!"
Just as Silver was struck the same nerve just as Lincoln was, Loki blasted a bullet of Fire onto Totodile, though it didn't do as much damage…
"Nice try, punk! But Totodile's a Water Type, Fire Types don't do much to it!" Silver frowned at Lincoln. "Now, Totodile, Water Gun attack!"
"(Time to clean those feet!)" Totodile took a deep breath and blasted a bullet of Water onto Loki, which it was too quick to dodge, badly hurting Loki and knocking him onto his back!
"LOKI!!!" Lincoln called out just as Loki's Aura flared up just as he was glowing Red.
"That looks like his Blaze ability!" Klaus informed Crystal and Professor Elm.
"I don't know what I'm going to do now, but I'll not let you get away!" Lincoln called out. "Loki! Ember! Max Power!"
"(Huff… huff… THIS IS MY MAX POWER!)" Loki took a deep breath in and blasted a Fire Bullet onto Totodile who took more damage than less, knocking him to backflip onto his belly. Though as he got up, a Blue Aura flared as he was glowing red.
"…Humph! You're doing OK for someone weak." Silver replied with a huff. "But I think it's time to end this… Totodile, Water Gun! Max Power!"
"You can also counter attack blasts and physical attacks with their respective counters! Like blasts with blasts or physical attacks with physical attacks, even though they're not aligned with equal types, that's a good safety measure that you can do to help yourself! And it's a good lifesaver in battle!" Lincoln's lesson memories gave him one last piece of advice before fading.
"Block it, quickly! Ember!" Lincoln called out of desperation.
Just as Totodile and Loki took one final breath as they blasted each other with boosted blasts that zoomed past the center and hit each other, causing them to faint.
…
"What the-?!" Silver was stunned.
"No way! Loki!" Lincoln panicked.
[Both trainers forfeited a Tie-Draw Fee of 400 Pokédollars.]

…
…
"Well, that was a shocker… You and I are in a draw…" Silver huffed. "Though I'm going to be the greatest trainer in the world! I can't let somebody beat me like that guy did!"
"What?" Asked Klaus as he was sipping on a bottle of Soda.
"Now… My ID." Silver revealed that he got his Trainer ID back.
"How did you-?!" Crystal was stunned.
"While me and White Hair were battling, I used Zubat to help me take my Trainer ID back. Though I promise you all, this will be the last time you'll see me, if you know what's good for you!" Silver then fled through the back window recalling Totodile.
(Song Playing: Pokémon Home Title Theme)
"He got away with Totodile…" Crystal looked worried.
"Funny…" Professor Elm replied with fingers on his chin. "Normally, I'd see Totodile panic from being stolen, but he didn't budge. Instead, he fought… Loki the Scorbunny, without defying the Thief…"
"Are you saying Totodile found his trainer?" Klaus asked Professor Elm.
"I'll see if you can monitor Silver and Totodile, time after time." Professor Elm suggested. "But at least now that Lincoln has a Pokémon, you can now do as you please!"
"Really?" Asked Lincoln.
"Yes, you can now take your journey up a notch! Why not challenge Johto's Gym Leaders? You can collect all 8 of the badges and then try for the Johto Cup and the Champion's Wish!"
"That's probably where Silver's headed…" Klaus frowned. "But either way, I'm going on my own path to claim the Champion's Wish! Crystal. Lincoln. You're welcome to join me, but I'm a speedy kind of guy who doesn't like to take breaks."
"That's okay, I can go with Lincoln, anyways." Crystal replied.
"Oh, really?" Lincoln looked at Crystal with hopeful eyes.
"Why not? You've been a good friend and support since the day we met!" Crystal smiled at Lincoln.
"Well then, I bid you all the best of luck!" Professor Elm nodded as he went back to his studies.
"Shall we get going?" Crystal asked Lincoln.
"Of course!" Lincoln smiled as Crystal smiled back as they both walked away to the door just as the Aide came by.
"Before you go, take these Pokéballs!" The Aide gave Lincoln and Crystal a fair share of Pokéballs.
"Thank you!" Lincoln smiled.
"We'll be back when we return!" Crystal smiled as she left with Lincoln.
…
[Route 29/Afternoon: Silver]
"Lincoln, was it?" Silver looked back into the direction of New Bark Town. "You were good, for an amateur… But I won't lose again… Prepare yourself when you see me again…!"
Silver walked away just as Klaus followed in the same direction.
Klaus looked at the tracks on the stepped grass as he squinted at Silver's direction to Cherrygrove City. "I hope you know we were once friends… I don't know why you chose this path… But if I have to teach you a lesson, I will, again!"
