CFVY Dorm Room

The soft morning light spilled through the dorm window, casting golden streaks across the room. Velvet Scarlatina stirred beneath her blankets, blinking as she slowly woke from a restful sleep. For a moment, she remained still, her long ears twitching slightly as she listened to the usual sounds of her teammates moving about the room. But… there was nothing.

No Coco rummaging through her wardrobe, debating which outfit best complemented her aesthetic. No soft breathing from Yatsuhashi's meditative morning stretches. No distant hum of music leaking from Fox's ever-present headphones. Even the bathroom door remained slightly open, revealing an unoccupied space.

Velvet's lips curled into a small, delighted smile. She was alone.

A rare occurrence, and one she intended to savor.

With a newfound energy, she threw off her blankets and hopped out of bed, landing lightly on her feet. Unlike most mornings, she didn't have to tiptoe around sleeping teammates or dodge an errant pillow tossed by a grumpy, half-awake Coco. Today, she had the entire room to herself.

Spinning on her heels, she began gathering her clothes, swaying slightly to an imaginary tune. She rifled through her wardrobe, selecting a cozy sweater and a pair of comfortable shorts, her tail flicking behind her as she moved. It was almost surreal having this much space to herself—no Coco teasing her about fashion choices, no Fox stealing her chair, and no Yatsuhashi politely offering to make her bed before she even had the chance.

As she turned toward her desk, her eyes landed on a neatly folded note propped up against her stack of books. Recognizing Coco's elegant but slightly rushed handwriting, she picked it up and read:

"Vel, we're heading to Vale for the morning. Try not to miss us too much. Or throw a party. Actually… if you do, just make sure it's cleaned up before we get back. —Coco"

Velvet let out a quiet chuckle, shaking her head. A party? The most she'd probably do with this solitude was stretch out on the couch with a good book and an oversized mug of cocoa. Maybe even take an extra-long shower without worrying about someone pounding on the door.

Tucking the note away, she turned toward the bathroom with an extra bounce in her step. No need to rush, no need to share, and—best of all—no Coco stealing the hot water before she even had a chance to step in.

Yes, this was going to be a perfect morning.

Twenty minutes later, Velvet Scarlatina felt refreshed, dressed in her usual attire and ready to enjoy the peaceful morning. With her neatly folded book tucked under her arm and her Scroll in hand, she took one last glance around the room before heading for the door.

This was going to be her morning. A quiet walk through Beacon's courtyard, maybe a stop at the library for some uninterrupted reading—no Coco teasing her, no Fox hijacking her Scroll to show her memes, and no Yatsuhashi reminding her to pace herself on the coffee. Just pure, uninterrupted serenity.

Stepping into the hallway, she hummed to herself, her ears twitching as she mentally ran through her plans. Maybe she'd even stop by the school café and treat herself to a pastry—one of those flaky, fruit-filled ones she never got to enjoy because someone (Coco) always claimed the last one.

Then—boom.

A muffled explosion rocked the air, cutting through the tranquil atmosphere like a blade. It wasn't deafening, but it was enough to send a vibration through the walls, enough to make Velvet stop dead in her tracks.

Her breath hitched as her ears shot up in alarm. That had come from a floor below.

The hallway, once quiet, erupted into hushed murmurs as students cautiously peeked out of their dorms, eyes wide and questioning. Some whispered among themselves, exchanging confused glances, while others debated whether to go investigate or pretend it never happened.

Velvet, however, couldn't ignore it. A sinking feeling settled in her stomach as she made her way toward the stairs, her movements careful but deliberate. Please don't let it be something serious…

Reaching the lower floor, she slowed her steps and carefully peeked around the corner.

Her eyes widened.

The hallway was an absolute disaster.

Shreds of paper, confetti, and what looked suspiciously like pancake batter coated the floor and walls. Smoke hung in the air, curling lazily toward the ceiling. A faint sizzling sound crackled from the epicenter of the destruction, where two very familiar figures lay sprawled on the ground.

Ruby Rose and Nora Valkyrie.

Both girls were motionless, their bodies faintly smoking as if they had been caught in some sort of blast. Ruby's cloak was covered in a sticky, syrup-like substance, while Nora's hammer—somehow wedged halfway into the wall—dripped with what looked like whipped cream.

Velvet blinked. Then blinked again.

She wasn't sure whether to be concerned or just… completely bewildered.

Instead, one thought surfaced in her mind, unbidden and incredulous:

What in Remnant did I just walk into?

Cafeteria

Velvet Scarlatina sat at her usual table, quietly enjoying the peaceful moment with a warm breakfast in front of her. A plate of toast, eggs, and fruit sat neatly arranged, accompanied by a steaming cup of coffee that she had every intention of savoring. It was a perfect morning—simple, quiet, and untouched by whatever nonsense had unfolded earlier.

Or so she hoped.

Across the cafeteria, the unmistakable voices of Teams RWBY and JNPR broke through the usual hum of student chatter. Normally, Velvet would tune them out, but after witnessing the explosion in the dorms, curiosity got the better of her.

"...I'm just saying, I had nothing to do with it," Ruby grumbled, picking stray bits of confetti out of her hair. "I was collateral damage!"

Nora, still shoveling pancakes into her mouth, gasped dramatically. "That is so unfair! I was celebrating our weekend off!"

"You blew up a hallway," Weiss deadpanned, arms crossed.

"Allegedly," Nora corrected, pointing her fork at Weiss.

"Nora," Ren interjected, voice tired and resigned, "you admitted it five minutes ago."

Nora hesitated, chewing her pancake slowly before sighing. "Fine, technically it was me, but in my defense, it wasn't supposed to explode that much!"

Velvet, who had just taken a sip of her coffee, nearly choked. That much? As if there was an acceptable amount of hallway-destruction?

Yang, who had been listening with increasing amusement, leaned forward with a smirk. "So, just to be clear… you set off a prank, and Ruby got caught in it?"

"Yes," Weiss answered flatly before Nora could attempt to justify herself.

Yang's smirk widened, golden eyes gleaming with mischief. "And you don't see how that sounds like a challenge?"

Across the table, Blake didn't even look up from her book. "Don't."

"Oh, do," Yang shot back, drumming her fingers on the table. "Think about it, guys. We were all just gonna have a boring weekend, right? No classes, no missions, nothing fun planned—just sitting around like responsible students?"

There were a few reluctant nods, some more enthusiastic than others. Jaune, in particular, looked like he wasn't sure where this was going, but he was intrigued nonetheless.

"Well, forget that," Yang declared, slamming her hand down on the table with a loud thud. "Until Monday… we are at war."

Velvet, who had just lifted her coffee to her lips, definitely choked this time.

"A prank war?" Jaune perked up, clearly invested now.

"A full-scale, no-holds-barred, completely ridiculous prank war," Yang confirmed with a grin.

Ruby groaned, dropping her head onto the table. "Oh, come on, Yang! Can't we just have one weekend where things don't escalate into absolute chaos?"

"Oh, we could," Yang said dramatically, "but where's the fun in that?"

"This is a terrible idea," Weiss muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"This is the best idea," Nora countered, already vibrating with excitement. "Beacon needs this!"

Blake finally closed her book and sighed. "I already regret being here."

Velvet, who had just been trying to enjoy a simple breakfast, sighed as well, finally setting down her coffee with a resigned shake of her head.

As long as this doesn't ruin my morning, they can do whatever they want.

Library

Velvet stepped into the library, letting out a relieved sigh. It was early enough that most students were still recovering from the morning's chaos, and if there was one place that could remain untouched by madness, it was here. Books. Quiet. Absolute peace.

She made her way to her usual seat, nestled in a cozy corner by the window, and pulled out her book. The sun streamed through the glass, warming her face as she settled in.

Then, somewhere deep in the shelves—

BOOM!

A shimmering golden explosion erupted from the center of the library, sending a shockwave through the room. A cloud of glitter and confetti filled the air, raining down over everything. Students shrieked and scrambled for cover as the blast settled.

Velvet, stunned, looked up just as a figure came sprinting past her.

It was Sun Wukong.

His tail was on fire.

"IT'S IN MY FUR! IT'S IN MY FUR!" Sun screamed, waving his flaming tail wildly. He grabbed a random book from a shelf and tried to smack himself with it, only to set the pages ablaze.

"OH NO, THAT MADE IT WORSE!"

Scarlet and Sage stood near the entrance, watching the disaster unfold with a mix of horror and disappointment.

"...What did you do?" Scarlet asked, arms crossed.

Neptune, standing beside them, let out a long, dramatic sigh. "I told him not to open the 'mystery glitter bomb'."

Before anyone could answer, a loud, furious voice rang through the golden mist.

"RUBY ROSE, I AM GOING TO END YOU!"

Weiss stormed forward, completely covered in gold glitter, her white uniform now sparkling like a disco ball.

Velvet slowly closed her book, sighed, and stood up. It was time to leave.

Courtyard

The fresh air was a welcome relief as Velvet stepped outside. The sun shone, birds chirped, and for a moment, it seemed like the chaos wouldn't reach her here.

Then she heard it.

A snap, followed by a yelp.

She turned her head just in time to see Jaune Arc dangling upside down from a tree, caught in an obvious rope trap. He flailed helplessly, arms waving as he tried to reach the knot holding his foot.

"Okay, who put this here!?" he demanded, swinging slightly.

Across the courtyard, Blake sat on a bench, casually flipping through her book. Without looking up, she muttered, "You walked right into it."

Jaune scowled. "I thought it was a shortcut!"

From behind a nearby bush, Ren and Pyrrha whispered to each other.

"Was this one of ours?" Ren asked.

Pyrrha shook her head. "No, but I wish it was."

Velvet took a cautious step back, debating if she should intervene.

Then the tree branch creaked ominously.

Jaune paled. "Wait, wait—NO NO NO—"

SNAP!

The rope gave out, and Jaune plummeted straight into the nearby fountain with a massive splash.

At that exact moment, Professor Port walked by, whistling to himself, only to get absolutely drenched by the tidal wave of water from Jaune's fall.

His mustache drooped. His scroll, which he had just pulled out to check the time, sparked and shut down.

Port blinked. Slowly, he looked down at the soaking wet Jaune, who was now floating on his back, staring up at the sky in silent defeat.

Velvet didn't wait to see what happened next—she power-walked away before she got dragged into it.

Hallway

Velvet made her way through the dorm hallway, her focus solely on getting back to her room without incident. She had nearly made it—just a few more steps—

Then a pie whizzed past her face and splattered against the wall.

She turned her head slowly.

Neptune stood frozen in place, arms outstretched in horror. "That… that wasn't meant for you," he said weakly.

Down the hall, Ruby and Yang crouched behind overturned mattresses, wielding slingshots loaded with pies.

"The war waits for no one!" Yang shouted as she launched another pastry.

It hit Neptune square in the face.

Neptune sighed deeply, wiped the cream from his eyes, and muttered, "I don't even go here."

Then the hallway exploded into absolute anarchy.

Ren appeared from the ceiling, dual-wielding spray bottles filled with glowing liquid, somersaulting as he unleashed a mist of what looked like hot sauce over the battlefield.

"REN, WHAT IS THAT!?" Velvet called.

"No time!" Ren yelled back before disappearing into a cloud of smoke.

Down the hall, Sun and Scarlet tried to retreat, only to get absolutely pelted by an onslaught of rubber chickens launched from a makeshift trebuchet.

"FEAR ME, MORTALS!" Nora bellowed, yanking a lever.

Then a door slammed open.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?"

Professor Goodwitch stood at the end of the hall, eyes blazing with fury.

Everyone froze.

Then, before anyone could react—

A water balloon came soaring from somewhere.

In slow motion, Velvet watched it arc perfectly through the air—

And land directly on Glynda Goodwitch's face.

The entire hallway held its breath.

Glynda slowly wiped her dripping hair out of her face. Her glare could have melted metal.

"Detention," she growled, "for everyone."

Velvet decided that it was definitely time to leave.

Cafeteria

Velvet sighed in relief as she returned to the cafeteria. Surely, surely the madness couldn't reach her here.

Then she noticed something.

Why was there a rope tied to the salt shaker?

Her ears twitched. Slowly, she traced the rope with her eyes—under the table, along the floor, through an open window—

"Oh no."

BOOM!

A massive burst of blue dye shot into the air, aimed directly at her seat.

But Velvet, acting on instinct, dodged

And Weiss Schnee, who had just stepped inside, took the full force of the blast.

The cafeteria went silent.

Weiss, now drenched in bright electric blue, stood completely still. Dye dripped from her bangs, her uniform, even her eyelashes.

Yang and Nora, who had been hiding behind a nearby pillar, immediately ducked out of sight.

Then, from the back of the cafeteria, a new voice rang out.

"A most curious choice of color," Professor Ozpin mused, sipping his coffee from the doorway. "Though, I must say, I think I preferred the white."

Velvet clapped a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing.

Weiss twitched.

From far across the room, Ruby's voice echoed:

"IT WAS NORA!"

"YOU ABSOLUTE TRAITOR!" Nora screamed.

Weiss turned slowly.

"You," she growled.

Nora bolted.

Velvet sighed as the chaos exploded around her again.

At least this time, it wasn't her.

Hallways and Dormitory Building

Velvet dashed through the long corridors of Beacon Academy, her heart pounding in her chest as the sound of chaos echoed behind her. The halls were a battlefield—a chaotic, unpredictable warzone where water balloons, confetti bombs, and rubber chickens flew through the air like missiles. Every step she took felt like a narrow escape as she dodged pie tins and ducked under ropes set to ensnare the unwary.

Her eyes were wide with panic, and her tail flicked nervously behind her, reacting to every sudden noise that rang out in the hall. Her mind raced as she wondered how it had escalated so quickly. One minute, she had been enjoying the quiet morning, the next—she found herself sprinting from one corner of the building to another, desperately trying to avoid being caught in the crossfire of Team RWBY and JNPR's increasingly ridiculous prank war.

A water balloon splashed against the wall next to her with a loud thwack, followed by a loud cheer. Velvet skidded to the left, barely avoiding a bucket of blue paint that dropped from the ceiling, drenching an unfortunate student walking by.

"Just get to the dorm. Get inside. Then maybe…," Velvet thought, "Maybe I'll be safe from all of this."

She made a break for the dormitory building, her breath coming out in sharp gasps as she neared the door. She shoved it open and slid inside, leaning back against it with a heavy sigh of relief, only to freeze when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Velvet turned sharply, eyes wide in surprise, her heart still racing as she expected some new form of attack. To her surprise, it wasn't a rogue pie or a prankster—it was her team.

Yatsuhashi stood casually, a couple of bags in his hands, the calm expression on his face at odds with the panic she had just experienced. "Velv? You okay?"

Coco was beside him, adjusting her sunglasses as she studied Velvet's panicked expression, concern creasing her brow. "What's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost… or at least, a giant, angry Beowolf."

Before Velvet could respond, she inhaled sharply, feeling the stress of the morning hit her all at once. She tried to calm her breathing but ended up blurting, "Get inside. Now."

Yatsuhashi's brow furrowed. "What's going on? Is it the Grimm?"

Fox, who had been quiet up until this point, looked at Velvet with mild concern. "Are we under attack?"

Velvet took a deep breath. "Close enough," she muttered, trying to calm herself. "It's a prank war—and it's getting out of hand."

Coco's eyes sparkled with mischief. "A prank war? Now that sounds fun. I should go check it out."

"NOPE," Velvet shot back instantly, grabbing Coco by the collar with a surprising amount of strength for her small frame.

"Hey! What's the rush?" Coco whined, almost playfully. "I just want to see the chaos—one little peek won't hurt."

"NOPE!" Velvet repeated firmly, pulling Coco along toward the stairs.

Yatsu looked at Fox, who shrugged in response, his usual cool demeanor unmoved by the madness around them. Without a word, the two of them followed behind, the quiet click of their footsteps adding an odd rhythm to the sound of Coco's protesting voice and Velvet's determined stride.

CFVY DORM ROOM

Velvet sat cross-legged in the middle of the room, her hands resting lightly on her knees as she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. The soft hum of the room contrasted with the storm brewing outside, the quiet space a welcome retreat from the chaos that was sweeping through the academy. The scent of freshly brewed tea filled the air, mingling with the subtle hint of lavender, the only signs of calm in the otherwise stormy environment.

Across from Velvet, Coco rummaged through the shopping bags she'd brought back earlier, pulling out various articles of clothing. Her movements were quick and precise, her usual energy palpable even in her search for new outfits. As she discarded a few items she clearly wasn't interested in, she glanced at Velvet and raised an eyebrow. "So, what's the deal with us hiding in here while everyone else is having fun?"

Velvet opened one eye, her voice calm yet firm. "Team RWBY and Team JNPR decided to turn this weekend into a prank war, and I've seen it firsthand... it's spiraling out of control."

She exhaled slowly, the weight of her morning experiences hanging in her words. "They've got the whole academy caught up in it. Water balloons, confetti bombs, you name it... And it's only getting worse. If you want to witness the madness, you're welcome to look outside."

Coco raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. She moved toward the window, pushing back the curtains with a flourish, her gaze immediately landing on the scene unfolding below. It was exactly as Velvet described—and then some.

Team RWBY and Team JNPR were in the midst of yet another battle, each side locked in a relentless exchange of pranks. Blake had narrowly dodged a flurry of rubber chickens, while Ruby appeared to be getting stuck in a net made entirely of spaghetti noodles. Nora, covered in glitter and paint, was chasing after Pyrrha, who had her shield out, protecting herself from a barrage of confetti grenades.

Coco grinned, her eyes lighting up as she quickly pulled out her Scroll. "This is too good. I'm definitely sharing this online. My followers are going to lose it!"

She angled her Scroll to get the perfect shot, tapping the screen to start recording. The chaotic, playful energy outside was a perfect snapshot of Beacon's two most energetic teams in their element. Coco's finger hovered over the share button, already imagining the barrage of notifications she'd get once the video went live.

Yatsu, who had been quietly sharpening his greatsword, Fulcrum, glanced up at the commotion outside but remained unfazed. He'd long since learned to tune out the madness that came with his team's dynamic.

Fox, on the other hand, lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Despite his blindness, he could feel the tension in the air—felt it almost as acutely as anyone else in the room. His steady, unblinking focus gave the impression that he was waiting for something, even if he couldn't see it.

"Do you think it'll really go on all weekend?" Fox asked, his voice low, thoughtful.

Velvet opened her eyes now, her peaceful meditation momentarily interrupted by the question. She sighed, her fingers lightly brushing against her legs. "Knowing them? Absolutely. They're going to drag this out until Monday, I'm sure of it."

Coco, still grinning from the window, turned to them. "You all could at least join in a little. I mean, come on, the prank war looks so fun!"

Velvet shook her head, her expression a mix of amusement and caution. "Trust me, Coco, you don't want to get caught in that. I've already seen how wild it's gotten. I'm not even sure it's safe anymore."

Yatsu gave a low chuckle, placing Fulcrum down on the bed next to him. "I think I'll pass, too. I like my weapons in one piece."

Fox smiled softly, though it was a knowing one. "It's probably best if we stay out of it. Someone's bound to get hurt if we get involved."

Coco's smile didn't fade as she held up her Scroll, already thinking of captions and hashtags. "Fine, fine, but you're all missing out."

With a final swipe of her screen, she hit 'share,' and the video was immediately sent out to her many followers. Velvet watched as Coco's mischievous grin stretched even wider.

"Alright, I guess we're not hiding out forever," Coco said with a wink. "But for now, let's just enjoy the show. No one else has a front-row seat like we do."

Velvet chuckled softly, but her eyes remained wary. The prank war was only getting started. And as much as she would have liked to just ignore it, she knew that chaos had a way of spreading—fast.

She glanced toward the window. "Let's just hope it doesn't come too close to our dorm, alright?"

Coco flashed a thumbs-up. "No promises."

Coco, still grinning from the window, tilted her head slightly as she continued to watch the chaos outside. She was just about to say something when her smile faltered, her eyes narrowing as she looked closer at the scene.

"Oh... crap," she muttered under her breath, her expression shifting from amusement to surprise in an instant.

Before anyone could react, a confetti bomb whizzed through the air, hurtling straight toward the dorm window. Coco barely had time to jump back, her eyes widening as the bomb exploded just inches from her, sending a shower of bright, colorful confetti flying everywhere.

The shockwave from the explosion shattered the window with a loud crack, causing shards of glass to fall around them in a chaotic spray. The fizzing sound of the bomb lingered in the air, accompanied by the unmistakable rattle of debris.

Yatsu and Fox jumped, both startled by the unexpected explosion. Yatsu, ever the calm one, instantly dropped into a defensive stance, his hands reflexively going to his weapon, Fulcrum. Fox, despite his blindness, seemed to sense the shift in the air and reacted with the quickness of someone who had learned to rely on other senses.

"Great," Yatsu muttered, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Just when we thought it was safe in here."

Fox let out a soft chuckle, the sound of it laced with mild amusement. "This is why I suggested staying out of it. Apparently, the war does come to us."

Velvet, on the other hand, didn't flinch at the explosion. She remained sitting cross-legged in the center of the room, her posture unchanged as if she were entirely unaffected by the mayhem. She let out a long, drawn-out sigh, shaking her head as she watched the remnants of the confetti flutter down around them like a bizarre, colorful snowstorm.

"This is going to be one long weekend," Velvet muttered under her breath, her eyes half-lidded as she glanced at her team.

Coco, still recovering from her narrow escape, dusted off the confetti that had settled on her clothes. She was wide-eyed, clearly shaken by the surprise explosion. She turned back to the window, peeking out cautiously, her voice tinged with exasperation. "Okay, maybe… maybe I spoke too soon."

She gave a small, rueful laugh. "Looks like it's time to head for cover."

Velvet raised an eyebrow at Coco's sudden change in tone. "You think?"

"Alright, alright, maybe hiding isn't such a bad idea," Coco admitted, a playful grin returning to her face despite the obvious danger. "But at least we got some awesome footage. Who else can say they were this close to the action?"

Fox, still lying on the bed, adjusted his position. "You're lucky the glass didn't land on you. That would've been a real disaster."

Yatsu raised an eyebrow. "You're just going to leave a broken window like that?"

Coco paused, eyeing the shattered glass with a slightly sheepish expression. "Oh... right, I should probably take care of that." She walked over to a nearby shelf and grabbed a nearby broom, but her eyes never strayed too far from the ongoing chaos outside.

Velvet, unfazed by the whole situation, simply resumed her meditation. "Well, I'm not cleaning up the mess."

2 DAYS LATER – REC ROOM

The makeshift bed Team CFVY had huddled together on was a patchwork of blankets, pillows, and worn-out cushions. It wasn't the most comfortable arrangement, but after two days of relentless chaos, it had served its purpose: providing refuge from the full force of the prank war that had torn through Beacon. The hum of the dorm building was oddly quiet as they slowly stirred awake, the events of the past two days still fresh in their minds. The battle had finally ended, but it had left a mark on the academy.

Yatsu was the first to sit up, his tall frame stretching as he groggily rubbed his eyes. He groaned, his body aching from being in one position for too long. Fox rolled over on the floor, blinking as he adjusted to the light that filtered through the crack under the door. Coco was already up, stretching and grinning as she glanced around at the others. Velvet, still looking somewhat serene, slowly began to gather her things, preparing to leave the temporary haven they'd called home for the last 48 hours.

As the team packed up, there was an unspoken sense of relief that the war was finally over. The pranksters of RWBY and JNPR had gone quiet, retreating to lick their wounds and recover from their own pranks. But that silence was broken the moment the doors to the Rec Room opened.

The hallway outside the Rec Room looked like a war-torn battlefield. The walls were plastered with flyers, half of them covered in scribbled messages of defiance, others boasting victory over one team or another. One or two doors stood ajar, revealing rooms in complete disarray. The floor was littered with confetti, bits of rubber chickens, and broken water balloons—remnants of a battle long past. The scent of stale fruit juice and lingering dye still clung to the air.

Students lay scattered across the floor like fallen soldiers, many of them unconscious from the onslaught of pranks. A few of them lay in the hall, clutching makeshift shields of paper or pillows, still adorned in the remnants of their battle gear. Some were barely recognizable, their faces smeared with neon paint or glitter, their hair matted from a water balloon fight that had clearly gone on too long. A couple of students were slumped against their door frames, the evidence of their failed attempts to hide evident by the streamers hanging from their bodies.

A few doors stood wide open, revealing rooms where the walls were plastered with prank aftermath. One room had a giant pile of rubber chickens stacked neatly in the middle, as though someone had spent hours carefully arranging them, while another had a desk covered in tinsel, the keyboard completely buried beneath it.

Further down the hall, a few students had passed out in their rooms, some on their beds, others awkwardly sprawled on the floor, still clutching the last remnants of confetti bombs or half-eaten snacks. The prank war had taken no prisoners—only those willing to fight back were left standing.

Yatsu glanced down the hallway, his eyes scanning the battlefield. "Well… I guess we weren't the only ones who needed a safe haven."

Fox nodded, his blind eyes unfazed by the scene. "Looks like the prank war left its mark on everyone."

Coco let out a small laugh, shaking her head as she surveyed the aftermath. "I gotta admit, this is probably the most fun I've had in a while—chaotic, but fun."

Velvet stood silently, her expression a mix of amusement and exhaustion. She surveyed the scene before her, still processing the sheer scale of what had just happened. "I'm just glad it's over."

RWBY'S DORM ROOM

Velvet crept inside, her soft footsteps barely making a sound on the floor. The room was in complete disarray. Confetti was still scattered everywhere, bits of rubber chickens were perched on the edge of the furniture, and some harmless prank remnants were strewn around, as though they had been abandoned in haste.

The sight that met her eyes was the result of days of unrelenting chaos. Yang was the first thing that caught her attention. She lay slumped against the floor by her bed, her golden hair tangled and wild, her eyes wide as if in shock. Despite her usual fiery demeanor, there was an almost empty expression on her face, as though the prank war had drained every ounce of energy she had.

Velvet couldn't help but smirk as she crouched down beside Yang. "So, was it worth it in the end?" Velvet asked, her voice carrying a playful yet teasing tone.

Yang, still in a daze, blinked at her for a moment before she managed to mumble a response. Her lips barely moved, and she spoke slowly, as if the words were taking everything she had to form. "Yep."

Velvet chuckled, a soft laugh escaping her as she stood up. She glanced over to the rest of Team RWBY, all of whom were scattered around the room, some on the ground, others barely hanging on from their beds, still recovering from the relentless barrage of pranks.

Ruby was lying in a heap on the floor, her once bright eyes now dull and half-closed, bits of confetti stuck in her hair. Weiss was crumpled on the bed, holding a pillow over her face as if trying to shield herself from some invisible threat. Nora, of course, was on the floor too, a puddle of candy wrappers and crushed cups around her like she'd been in the middle of a sugar coma.

But Blake… Blake was the only one who hadn't succumbed to the prank war's effects. She sat calmly on her bed, a book open in front of her, her cat ears perked up as she read, unaffected by the mayhem surrounding her. Despite the chaos, her expression remained serene and focused, her regular ears flicking occasionally in response to the sounds around her. She might have been the only one who came out of this war unscathed.

Velvet stood there for a moment, looking over the chaos and quietly shaking her head. "Well, at least some of you got your fun," she muttered, half to herself.

She gave one last glance at the room before turning on her heel and heading back out. Her footsteps echoed softly as she left RWBY's dorm, leaving behind the sounds of groans and muffled complaints as the prank war's aftermath continued to unfold. Velvet, feeling satisfied with the brief but amusing visit, began heading back to her own room, but not without the lingering sense of a well-earned peace.

As she passed through the hall, the remnants of the prank war were still scattered everywhere, but somehow, it didn't feel like a battleground anymore. It felt like a funny memory that would fade with time, a part of Beacon Academy's strange, chaotic history.

CAFETERIA

The usual bustle of the Beacon Academy cafeteria had returned, students chatting, eating, and going about their morning routines like the prank war was nothing more than a distant memory. The once war-torn hallways and rooms were now clean, with only a few stray bits of confetti and rubber chicken feathers as the last remnants of the chaos that had overtaken the school.

Velvet sat at a table near the back, her food forgotten for the moment as she observed the scene before her. Team RWBY and Team JNPR had gathered together, sitting at one long table, their usual banter and laughter filling the air. Everyone looked relatively normal again, except for Jaune. He was still picking confetti out of his hair, his face pale, and his expression slightly glazed. The effects of the prank war were clearly still weighing on him, as if he had been hit by a truck made of rubber chickens and exploding dye.

Ruby, sitting next to Jaune, grinned and nudged him with her elbow. "Man, that was fun, though. I can't believe we actually survived it."

Nora, who was sitting next to her, let out a laugh. "Yeah, it was a wild ride! But I think it was totally worth it."

Jaune groaned in response, leaning back in his chair. "I'm just… I'm just glad it's over. I still feel like there's confetti in places there shouldn't be."

"Yeah, same here," Pyrrha agreed, shaking her head with a smile. "I think we've all learned a valuable lesson in not overdoing it with pranks."

Weiss, who had been listening quietly, nodded in agreement but couldn't help but smirk. "A lesson learned the hard way, I'm sure."

Ruby nodded, "Definitely. But honestly? It was pretty fun. I'm just not looking forward to whatever punishment we're going to get from Professor Ozpin for all of this."

Yang, who was sitting across from her, snorted. "Yeah, the prank war may be over, but I have a feeling we won't be escaping without consequences."

Blake, who was leaning back with a cup of tea, shot them a glance from over the rim of her mug. "I'm just wondering if it was worth all the effort to get even with them." She glanced over at JNPR as she spoke, but her voice was calm and collected. "It was chaotic, but we did have a good time."

Nora chuckled, then tossed a wink in Blake's direction. "Who knew Blake had a soft spot for pranks?"

Blake rolled her eyes, but before she could retort, the entire table was suddenly hit with a series of loud splat sounds. A few students had been walking past the table, clearly unaware of the incoming disaster, when someone had apparently released another round of water balloons from the ceiling—though this time it was aimed directly at the two teams. The cold water splashed across the table, drenching everyone, but especially Jaune, who was already in the worst possible state.

"WHAT?! AGAIN?!" Jaune shouted in frustration, his eyes wide in disbelief as his hair was completely soaked and more confetti floated around him.

Velvet couldn't help herself. She had been quietly observing from a distance, her smirk growing wider as she saw the two teams completely drenched. It was too perfect.

"I think someone just set off a final prank to mark the end of the war," Velvet mused quietly, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair as she watched the chaos unfold.

Ruby, looking completely soaked and blinking rapidly, glanced over at Jaune. "You okay, Jaune?"

Jaune blinked at her, his face deadpan. "I think I'm just gonna go lie down in a puddle somewhere..."

Nora burst out laughing. "Well, at least we're not the only ones who got pranked!" She grinned brightly, but quickly regretted it as her soaked hair dripped water onto the table.

"Yeah, you'll fit right in," Yang said sarcastically, brushing water out of her eyes and tossing a paper napkin at Jaune's face. "Looks like we're all in the same sinking ship."

The whole table shared a laugh, despite the fact that their hair was drenched and their clothes were now sticking to them uncomfortably. Velvet smirked and turned her gaze toward the door, watching as a few other students had caught wind of the prank and were pointing at the spectacle. She couldn't help but feel a small sense of satisfaction. Even in the aftermath of the prank war, it seemed that Beacon would never fully escape its chaotic roots.

Velvet stood up from her seat, stretching slightly before making her way toward the center of the table where both Teams RWBY and JNPR were sitting. The moment they noticed her walking toward them, an uneasy silence fell over the table. The pranking teams looked at each other, unsure of what was about to happen. Velvet's mischievous grin was almost too much for them to handle after all the chaos they'd been through.

When she finally reached Ruby and Yang, still drenched and trying to wring out their clothes, Velvet nonchalantly wrapped an arm around both of them. She leaned in, speaking in her usual teasing voice. "You two might want to change before class," she said with a wink, clearly enjoying the little bit of revenge she'd just served.

Ruby, still processing the remnants of the prank war, blinked and gave a confused look. "...Okay?" she responded, her head tilting to the side.

Velvet, still holding her playful smile, suddenly shifted. Her expression darkened and she leaned in, lowering her voice just enough for them to hear but no one else. "Oh! And next time..." she began, her face serious and a cold edge in her tone that made everyone freeze. She let the silence stretch for a moment before finishing, "Don't ruin my morning again."

A few seconds passed, but it felt like an eternity to the teams, their eyes wide and frozen in shock as they processed what had just happened. Velvet's sudden shift from playful to serious was unsettling, and the realization slowly began to dawn on them.

And then, in an instant, Velvet's face brightened again, the coldness melting away. She flashed them a wide grin, full of mischief and satisfaction. "See you in class!" she chirped, as if nothing had changed, and turned on her heel to walk back to her seat.

It hit them all at once—the water balloons, the confetti, the impeccable timing.

Ruby's eyes widened in a mixture of horror and admiration. "Wait... you...?" She trailed off, unable to fully process the magnitude of what just happened.

Yang groaned dramatically and slapped a hand to her forehead. "Of course… it was you! Why didn't I see this coming?"

Blake, still trying to recover from the prank chaos herself, shook her head in disbelief. "I knew it was too quiet. You really got us."

Nora, who had been trying to wring out the soaked remains of her sweater, suddenly jumped up from her seat, eyes blazing with playful fury. "No way! You're not getting away with that!" she shouted, her arms outstretched like she was about to lunge at Velvet.

But before she could take a step, Ren quickly shot out a hand, grabbing her by the collar and pulling her back with surprising strength for someone so calm. "Nora, calm down," Ren said flatly, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice. "Let it go."

Nora struggled for a second but then stopped, her defiance turning into reluctant acceptance. "Ugh, fine. But I'm so getting her back next time!" she pouted, crossing her arms.

Velvet, now comfortably back in her seat, smirked in satisfaction. She had, without a doubt, won this round. The entire cafeteria was slowly piecing things together, watching in awe as Team RWBY and Team JNPR finally realized who had masterminded the final prank.

Coco, who had been casually watching the exchange from the sidelines, approached Velvet and patted her firmly on the back, shaking her head with a mix of pride and disbelief. "You are an evil genius," Coco said, her voice dripping with admiration.

Velvet chuckled softly, feeling an odd sense of pride in her work. She glanced over at the disheveled teams, now collectively realizing they'd been outwitted and outplayed. As the teams began to shake off their shock and go back to their meals, Velvet sat back in her chair, satisfied. She had gotten her revenge, and now she could finally enjoy a peaceful breakfast.

The chaotic prank war had come to an end, and she was victorious.
