Chapter 26: The Clone Situation.

I did it lmao! A monthly upload haha! I'm so proud of myself lol, and I quite like how this chapter came out! Also as a heads up to all, I might change my name on her? Not too sure yet. I'll let you all know :v

I know it's most likely just bots, as i've been getting some weird robotic PM's too lmao, But I would like to say, I am NOT looking for commission work lol! Fan art is welcome and I love seeing the art you guys make for my AU :'0 But plz, No more commission bots! X'D

OH! I am officially writing the first few pages for the drabble series! It will be lots of behind the scenes moments with the teens, I'm thinking Irma and Donnie's first meeting? Maybe the movie April went to see with Irma, Miwa and Donnie. Mikey and Donnie being goofs, I had a idea for a family game night chapter which is chaotic af lmao.

But also past moments too! Like Daiki growing up, Saki and Daiki moments, Bradford moments, maybe Shini too? Tatsu? And some for the Hamatos too! Like their origin story, (Yes it's basically the same as the show in my AU but baby Miwa and turtles guys!)

AND Any suggestions of moments you guys want too! I'm open to any!! I'll let everyone know here once I've uploaded the first Chapters! Maybe a month or two but we'll see haha! :3

Now to the reviews:

mnop.4: Thanks again for the review, and once again thank you so much for the fanart??? Like- I loved it so much! :'3 Your art is so lovely!!

Obsidian Dreamweaver, Frostbound Reverie, Wiewior14, emily.carter1410: Whether you guys are bots or real people I thank you for your interest lol, but I am not looking for commission work. I'm broke. Thank you :)

ProfessorYeti: Dang three whole reviews?? :'00 I just want to make sure you know that I read every one you sent and love reading every bit of them all! But if I forget to mention something or answer a question you may of had, please feel free to ask again lol, as I may of missed or forgotten to add it in my comment haha! But I'm glad your back! And you've found a system that works for uploading your reviews! I always try my hardest I swear! XD As for your review -

Tbh, one if my favourite things to write is world building! I love trying to set the scene as much as possible for you guys, so that you can see what I do.I also love to write the whole 'show not tell' way too! It's so much more interesting ya know? I love to add things together as the chapters progress, and watched as everyone goes, Oh! That's why so and so did this, or that's what this means!

And yes! I loved your headcannon of Shen being a SRMF5 head! I went back to that episode once you first mentioned it and saw it on the window in the kitchen! I thought it would be a cool, but also connecting detail between all the teens, Splinter, and Shen.

Casey Jones is an embarrassing teenager, but what teenager isn't lmao. This may be hard to believe as a Donnie fan, but I do love Casey! He's great lmao XD I want to try and flesh him out a bit in my AU give him more backstory, make his family an actual part of his character and not just a random sentence the show threw in just to remind us he isn't an adult lmao, and as you can tell no love triangle. Because let's be real, what was the reason?? XD Donnie and Casey, no matter how much they fight, are good friends, and i don't think April or some illy love story should get in the way of that.

Tbh, I love the China ghost town episode! But I was actually planning to skip it, as it would mess with some things that happen here and there. But I think I might rethink it, and see if I can get the boy's their spotlight episode? :3

With your comments about Donnie's relationship with April, let's just say, wait and see ;)

And yes! I love parallels! Haha! Thank you for noticing! I always like little hints and mentions to previous things, tying two or more characters together! :D Like I remember a many chapters ago I wrote about Daiki's mother having this hard amber glare that shut up these men in an instant, and later on, Miwa did the same thing to someone else, as she has the 'Hamato eyes' as i call em hehe! I just like adding in details like that so much!

Thank you for your review again! And the other two! I have read them all! And I can't wait for the next one!

Fungus Humungous episode is next! And I'm real excited for it as it's a big one in terms of lore and plot! See you guys soon, hopefully end of February? :)

This is based on the 2k12 series.

WARNING: 'Dyslexic writer lol'.

Chapter 26

From inside the fire lit room, a man with neatly combed back brown hair was busy at work, shovelling a clump of unheated metal into the fireplace. His round glasses glowed pure white in the blaze, hiding his eyes behind them.

"Chichioya!"

The loud, bubbly squeals of an excited five year old bursting into the shop filled the man's ears. The man smirked, a small white stick poking out his mouth, as he heard the running off footsteps, as well as a woman's yell to take his shoes off first.

He waited, before making a quick dive behind him, scooping up the child running towards him with large gloved hands and tossing him into the air.

"Gotcha!" The man cheered, smiling at the boy's fit of giggles when he was caught. His glasses slid back on his face, revealing kind and intelligent mahogany eyes.

The man was currently covered in soot, everywhere on him apart from his long apron that was, which was impressive by itself. But the boy didn't care, he was just happy to see his father.

A soft laugh behind greeted them from the doorway, as the woman, his Wife, lent on the frame, taking in the picturesque scene.

The man placed his child down and ruffled his fluffy brown hair, before turning to his wife and giving her a kiss. "Koibito. 'Sweetheart'."

"Good day?" He asked with a welcoming smile, while walking back over to his work.

"It was nice, thank you." The woman said, smiling gently, though it turned mischievous when she saw a large collection of freshly made weapons behind her Husband. Each one laid out neatly, with the Morikawa crest at the bottom, and shining brightly from being made only minutes ago. "I see you've been busy?"

Her eyes glanced over her Husband as he stood beside the fireplace, pulling a clump of heated metal out. Above said fireplace, were some of the man's father's best weapons, and purple tinted tantō, a pair of katana so sharp, that they were said to cut through even the thickest of tatami mats like butter. And lastly, a bō staff, a black metal staff with blades on either end.

The man carried the heated metal carefully toward a table, which was used to bang out any impurities in the lump before he even thought of shaping it. His son moved backwards and towards the door as his father walked by, stepping behind a red line drawn on the floor to keep him safe. He knew the metal was very hot when it glowed orange like that, and never messed around when his father worked.

"A big order came in this morning. The man requested it all be finished today so that they can pick up the order later this evening." The Husband filled in.

The woman stared in surprise at the man, "Quite the unreasonable goal." She stated.

"Hah!" The man let out a singular, proud laugh, "Maybe for any other swordsmith!" He beamed, and his Wife shook her head lovingly.

With the metal placed down on the slab, the man reached into his apron pocket for a long metal rod and hammer. "And you my son? How was your day?"

"It was great!" The boy said with a gap-toothed grin. "We got to make cars out of trash!"

"That's...great?" The Husband said with a trying smile, the germaphobe in him reminded him to disinfect the 'car' before it went anywhere near their living space. His Wife chuckled at his reaction, and went off to inspect her Husband's recent handy work.

"And what car did you make?" The man recovered quickly, not wanting to dim his son's brilliant, creative mind.

"I didn't!" The child stated simply.

The man at this point had placed the rod against the heated metal, and began hitting it with his hammer, listening between the conversation for any impurities. By at his son's words, he stopped and looked up confused. "Huh?"

The boy chuckled, and raced back to the main shop, where he had thrown his schoolbag. "I made this!" He came back, standing just over the line, and presented his father with his creation.

The man froze instantly, hammer midair as he took sight of the 'vehicle' his son made. He stopped working, ignoring the heated metal that called for immediate attention, as he moved towards his son.

He knelt down, shuffling the white stick in his mouth around, before taking careful hold of the boat, studying it with the meticulous eyes of a well trained blacksmith. A small boat, made from a bit of driftwood, some ice pop sticks, and fabric. Though it was made from bits and pieces, it was clear to the man what it was. "Your grandfather's boat..."

"You were so sad that we had to sell it," The boy said with a understanding smile. He knew the shop wasn't making a lot of money, he had heard his parents talking about it in secret. So as a last resort, they had to sell off his Sofu's treasured fishing boat. "So I thought I'd make us one we could keep!"

The man felt his heart swell, and he tried his best to keep a few tears back at his son's words. "What did I do to deserve such a kind hearted child." With a whole-hearted smile he ruffled up his son's hair and chuckled. He placed the boat to one side, and wrapped his boy in a hug, breathing deeply as he pushed down the unwanted pain that came with his father's memory.

"Can I have one?" A tiny whisper asked cheekily in his ear. The man pulled his son away, and saw him eyeing the stash of lollipops in his apron pocket.

The boy had a sweet tooth, but he could never rival his father's addiction to sugar. Anytime anyone saw the man it was a given that a white stick would be poking out of his mouth. That was until...

"Not before dinner." His mother scolded softly. The boy deflated at that, he didn't like how his mother had 'superman' hearing. But then, she zoned in on her Husband. "You either. You'll ruin your appetite." His Wife then pulled the red coloured sweet from his mouth and threw it in the trash nearby.

"So strict." The man pouted playfully. He waited for his Wife to turn her back, before reaching into his pocket again. He pulled out a green lollipop and secretly handed it to his child with a 'shh' gesture. The boy played along with a smile, hiding the treat in his coat pocket.

"Papa! Can I try my boat out on the lake?" The boy asked quickly, practically jumping on the spot, waiting for his father's approval.

"The lake?" The man asked, glancing outside to see darkness and streetlights. Had the time really escaped him so fast? "It's quite dark now. Perhaps we could all go in the morning?"

This wasn't the answer the boy had wanted, and he stopped his happy dance instantly. "But..." The boy put to work his best puppy dog eyes. Giant pools of innocence and childish wonder that he knew his father couldn't resist.

And he was right, the man's face softened, though he was fighting the gods themselves to stay strong. He looked away, but couldn't stay away for long, glancing back only to see big mahogany eyes staring into his very soul.

He was about to break, when a voice spoke from behind. "Daiki." His Wife knew he was a pushover, and stepped in when she saw his composer slipping. She needed no more words as she sent her son a look. One that said, 'I know what you are trying to do.', and that was enough for the boy to give up.

Letting out a defeated sigh, he picked up his boat again, "Ok..." Before sulkily wandering back into the mainshop. He sat on the porch, and looked out at the village. From here you could see the lake, lit up by a few specks of light from the fisherman.

"He won't be sad long, you know that." The woman tried cheering her gloomy Husband up.

"I know." The man sighed. He walked back over to his metal, to find it had now cooled down, being a light silver in colour. "Dang it!" He exclaimed, and chucked the clump into a metal waste basket.

His Wife chuckled at his reaction, and watched as he went to retrieve a new piece of metal from his storage. "So who is this order for?" She mused aloud, "Seems awfully large for just another collector?"

Most days, the only people buying weapons, especially ninjitsu type pieces, were collectors, museums, or the occasional rich man just wanting something cool for his fireplace.

What the woman couldn't prepare herself for, was the guilty look that took over her Husband's face. She felt a horrid, sickly gnawing feeling in her gut, and eyed him cautiously.

He turned to her, and sighed. "Don't be mad..."

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

A few days had passed since the Casey Jones incident, and it was clear to the Hamatos and April that he was now part of the team, whether they liked it or not. He would appear at the lair anytime he wanted, sometimes even without April.

At first, he'd stick to Raph's side, knowing and relating most to said Hothead, but as the days went by, and he made his appearances more frequent, he started to relax and open up around the rest of the family.

Casey enjoyed watching Space Heroes with Leo, goofing off with Mikey, and pestering Miwa, like he did to his own sister. Even Donnie, who was admittedly still giving the teen a hard time warming up to him, had the odd conversation here and there. Apparently Casey had a knack for vehicles, and actually looked like he was enjoying himself as Donnie babbled on about the Shellraiser.

Furthermore, Casey had been trying to actively warm up to Splinter. The old rat had admitted his amusement to his children as he would watch the new teenager slowly approach him, before forcing himself to stay within a foots range of the mutant. He even managed an choked out sentence here and there about ninjas being 'dope'.

April couldn't of been more thrilled that they were all getting along. Sure she found Casey kind of annoying and smug sometimes, but he was a good guy at heart, and April thought of him as a good friend.

Which meant all the more to her now that she not only had another 'normal' person to talk to about secret ninja clans and alien robots, but the team now had a new member. Who was practically dying to show them his moves against the Kraang and Foot.

But the Hamatos had stayed firm when they warned him he wasn't ready to take on threats as big as them.

That was when Mikey said a comment that stuck with the redhead. "Not even April joins us for patrol."

April felt shocked at that realisation. She had never joined them on patrol! And she had been training as a kunoichi for almost a year!

She was annoyed to be looked down on yet again, and if anything a little hurt.

So when Casey had to leave that night, because his father wanted him home before dark, (something about him being grounded for sneaking out.) April made it a point to stay.

When Miwa asked her when she was heading out, she put her stubbornness to the work, and requested to join them for patrol.

The two youngest teens she managed to get on her side easily enough, as both seemed to be excited at the idea of her joining them.

It was the oldest three that she had trouble budging.

If April were to say it took nearly an hour and a half to convince them to let her accompany them on patrol, she unfortunately wouldn't be lying.

Yet eventually, her stubbornness, the youngest two's pleads, and even their father adding how beneficial it would be to April's training to go on a patrol with experienced ninja's, won the three over. Leonardo yielded and allowed her to join them, though he still had his doubts.

With a radiant grin, April took of into the night with the Hamatos, feeling more determined then ever that she was leveling up her game.

But as the two hour mark marched on, the heavy feeling of regret was all she could muster, as she practically chucked herself up ledges, and threw herself at rooftops.

All while the Hamatos cut through the night sky in effortless skill. Flipping and leaping around whooping and cheering as they went.

Just behind them, a very scarlet faced April struggled over yet another ledge, and dropped down again with difficulty.

She fell to her knees, and called for a quick break, allowing the others to stop and circle back round to her.

Donatello, now free of his sling, bent down beside her with a confused frown. "You ok?" He offered her a hand, which she accepted, though she seemed to sway getting back up.

April let out short loud breaths as she struggled for air. "I never...understood how turtles could…could be so...so fast!"

"Come on, April!" Mikey tried inspiring some hope into the redhead girl, who looked like she could chug a fish tank of water and still be thirsty. "Mi and D aren't turtles, and they keep up just fine!"

"We trained since we were kids, Mike?" Miwa pointed out the obvious. "I should hope we could handle a simple warm-up."

"Warm-up!?" April said in exasperation. "For two hours!"

With a too happy nod, Leo stepped up grinning, "That's what ninjas do! Training sometimes lasts four, five hours at a time. Awesome, right?"

"Are you kidding me? I'm gonna puke!" April ran an exhausted hand through her bangs. "W-what about a real mission?"

Miwa chuckled and shook her head at April. "You can't even handle the warm up? What on earth makes you think your ready to take on a mission?"

"Yeah, you know it took fifteen years of training before Master Splinter let us go on a 'real mission', Right?" Raph scoffed at her, before waving her off. "You got a long way to go, Sister."

As the older siblings shared their thoughts on the matter, the youngest two took it upon themselves to try and help.

"Well, not that long." Donnie tried to mediate, "A decade or two will fly by like that." He even snapped his fingers to show her how fast it was. Unaware that he'd snapped at the same time as a camera in the distance.

"Maybe for them?" April gestured towards the mutants of the group with a huff. "How will I learn if you guys never trust me?"

Mulling over her words, Donatello spun round to his leader. "Maybe we should take her on a mission, Leo."

At first, Leonardo was a bit taken aback that Donnie of all people was willing to let April go, and asked said concerns aloud. "That doesn't seem a little dangerous to you, Donnie? She's not exactly, ready."

"She's not, no." Donnie agreed plainly, earning a 'What the heck' look from his girlfriend. "But the best way to learn is to observe in my opinion. That's how it was for me? I learnt how to handle missions by joining Bradford."

"But she's got no experience in the field?" Leo pointed out harshly, "We can't take someone who is untrained into enemy infested buildings? It'll be Pulverizer all over again-"

Leo's sapphire eyes jolted open as he realized what he'd said. And all the teens winced before glancing regretfully to Donnie, who's breath had hitched in his throat at the mention of Timothy.

April and Mikey moved instantly to his side, and took his arms in their own to help bring some comfort. And in hopes that they could try and ward off any unwanted flashbacks and bad memories.

Shame overtook the Leader's face as he noted his mistake. He moved forwards to also offer a hand, "Donnie. I didn't mean-"

"I-It's fine." He cut off much to quickly. And took a step back out of everyone's reach. Taking a second to get his baring, he nodded his understanding shakily to the leader. "I know what you meant, Leo..."

Though Leo was still unhappy with how he addressed his concerns, he was glad Donnie at least knew why he said it.

"But the difference between April and... Timothy, is that April actually has training." Donnie filled in as best he could. "And...not a mutagen filled death wish."

The older teens looked amongst themselves remorsefully.

"I think she'll be fine." Donnie reassured once more. "We could stick to a simple stake out mission at first?"

Trying to re-lighten the mood, Mikey bounced forwards and threw a few ninja hands at April playfully. "Yeah! The best training she could have is hanging with the ninjas!"

"Plus I'd have you guys to look after me." April explained why pointing to the three unbudging teenagers, "It'd be great-"

"Don't get me wrong, April," Miwa interjected with her hand up, "It would be great if you could tag along. But we struggle to look after ourselves half the time we go on missions, it'll be even harder if we have to keep watching over our backs for your safety too."

April was about to say something more, but Leonardo cut her off, "Sorry April. It's too dangerous."

"Plus what if something happens to you? You think we'll ever forgive ourselves?" Raph added with a headshake. The three teens then moved away, still murmuring about how they couldn't risk it, as she wasn't ready.

It was then, that Donnie and Mikey rejoined her. The human of the two, placed a sympathetic hand on her shoulder. "Maybe next time?"

April physically deflated at that, "I feel like next time is a decade or two away." The two boys shared glances to one another, as April sighed. "I just want to help you guys with the Kraang. And not be... a liability who's mess you always have to clean up!"

"Your not, dude!" Mikey tried consoling, "You totes help out! Maybe not with missions? But with other things."

She knew he was on about her help behind the scenes with the Kraang, and how she assisted Donnie in his lab with the retro-mutagen, but she still couldn't help but feel like there was more she could do!

"Well, if you can't join us for missions yet, we could always try and help you out with training?" Donnie suggested a compromise, seeing how his older siblings were firm on their decision.

"Really?" April looked at them both brightly, "You guys would do that?"

"Of course! Whatever you need from us, I'm sure we can help!" Mikey grinned excitedly, "B Team stick together after."

"I told you to stop calling us that..." Sighed Donnie, he didn't like how Mikey referred to them as 'worse' then the supposed 'A Team'.

"But you won't agree to PBJ!" Mikey pouted sadly.

"To be honest," April began, drawing the two's attention back to her. "I just, want to do things on my own. Some help here and there is great! But how will I learn if those three mother hen's are always trying to keep me safe- Gah!?"

April broke out of her sentence, clutching her suddenly throbbing head in her hands, "My head!" She bent over as a gentle calm overcame her mind.

"April?" Donnie grabbed her arm to stabilise her while Mikey rushed forwards. The older three, who tuned back into the conversation in worry, were also now by their side.

As the calm in her mind became stronger, she could make out what was happening, or rather, what her mind was trying to tell her. She could sense a presence near them, an unknown aura hanging in the background, and it brought her senses straight into high alert. "Guys, I think there's someone watching us... Right over THERE!"

She flung herself round when she finished, and pointed across the street, towards a man lurking in the shadows of a nearby water tower.

As the stranger noticed he had been caught, he tipped his hat over his face, and fled the scene. Slipping away and towards the fire escape. However he quickly hurried into a full on sprint down the stairs, as he heard the teens above all bellow out, "GET HIM!"

The ninjas and April made off after him in a flash, and before long arrived at the end of the building overlooking the street.

The more seasoned ninjas were swift to pull free their grappling hooks, and make it to the other building. They wasted no time as they took of again, leaving April struggling behind with her hook.

"Stupid grappling hook!" She hit and smacked it, unsure of how to work it before throwing it down. With a huff, she realised she had been left behind. "Maybe I should just take the stairs-"

Above her head, a grappling hook caught onto the sign above her, she followed the line directly down to Donnie, who had set up the rope, and continued on with the group.

Without hesitation, April grabbed hold and rode it down, and even managed to catch up to the others, who were currently ducked down, watching the man sneakily enter a window on the adjacent apartment.

"Thanks." She quietly whispered to Donnie.

Who nodded back, "Remind me to teach you how to use it later." He quipped quietly back, and she blushed slightly in embarrassment.

Leo tilted his hand forwards, and in a blur, the ninjas jumped from their perch, and to the fire escape of the apartment. April climbed the ladders with only a faint clunking noise to follow, and joined them as Leonardo was prying the window open with a kunai, and motioned for them to enter.

The room was eerily dark, which was strange, considering the man had only just come through the window as well. But as a couple of the teens pulled out their T-phones for their flashlights, they weren't ready for what the room held inside.

From where they stood by the window, they could see that all around the room were corkboards filled with photographs, newspaper articles and cut outs, blueprints and Alien artifacts.

Each piece on the boards was connected to the other via a red string running around the room. Like a jumbled spider web.

As the teenagers moved in closer to the main board, Mikey let out a gasp and stumbled back into Donnie, who managed to catch him before they both went down.

The human lifted the light on his phone and also let a hushed gasp. "It's us..."

On the main corkboard were dozens of photos of the Hamatos, and April. Even a few of the Foot Clan.

"Dang, Donnie. He even got you when you were with the Foot." Raphael said, gesturing towards a few photos of Donatello clad in the Foot Gi.

Donnie gazed over the photos, before he reached for one of just him in particular. Standing alone one the rooftops, while scouting over the Hamatos from afar. He tore the photo off it's pin and scrunched it up in silence.

"Annoyed you aren't as sneaky as you thought?" Miwa chuckled quietly to her brother.

"Something like that..." He answered back vaguely, which caught the older girl's attention. Before she could press onwards however, Leo made yet another chilling discovery.

"And it's not just us. There's photos of mutants and Kraang." He pointed to the pictures, noting the mutants he recognised, before stopping on one of the many Kraang photos. "Lots and lots of Kraang..."

"I don't recognise some of those mutants?" Donatello thought aloud whilst scanning over the pictures carefully. "You guys seem to be in a few of the photos with them though?"

Behind him, he heard an awkward cough break the silence, as Raph glanced guiltily away. "That's... uh, a long story."

"What?" Donnie snapped quietly, "How many of them do you guys know..." The entire team at this point was looking anywhere other then him. Even April.

"We... may of known a couple of them?" Leo fumbled around for his words, rubbing his hand on the back of his head. "And, maybe mutated a few...?"

His jaw dropping slightly, Donnie was about to ask for more in depth information, but decided to focus on the task at hand by shaking his head in disbelief. "L-let's put a pin in this for now." None of the other teens argued with that.

"So what's with all the creep-tastic pictures?" April asked uncomfortably, a deep frown on her face as she saw a picture of her mutated father hanging upside down asleep on a fire escape.

Folding her arms, Miwa scoffed at the strange collection in the room. "Well, apparently we have a secret fan who seriously needs a hobby."

An almost inaudible creak sounded from the floorboards outside the room, and being the closest to it, Raphael managed to hear it in a moment of silence.

He knew they were being watched.

He cleared his throat, catching the groups attention, and gestured to the door behind him, "Well, I guess we've seen enough here, guys. Let's get out of here."

Reading his silent motive, the teenagers hid amongst the furniture, turning out their lights while Miwa walked over to the window, opening and closing it.

Once the window had close for five seconds, the man poked his head around the doorframe to check the coast was clear. As he did however, he was swiftly met with Raphael's three fingered hand wrapping around his coat collar, dragging him out of the dark and slamming him against the wall.

The turtle pointed his sai at the man, while the others came out of hiding with their torches on his face.

Before them was an unfamiliar man. He was within his late forties, with neatly combed back greying hair under a mud brown fedora. He had blue eyes and wore a simple shirt and tie fit, with a trench coat matching his hat.

And though his intentions were unknown, he held no anger towards the mutant currently holding a weapon to his neck.

"Whoa! Don't hurt me. I'm a friend." The man reassured, though a slight quiver could be heard in his voice.

Locking his eyes with the man suspiciously, Raph scowled. "'Stalker's' more like it."

If he heard Raphael's comment, then the man made no show as he relaxed his shocked posture, and took in the six teenagers around him in awe. "After all these months, finally face-to-face with the talking turtles and ninjas, The Hamato Clan." Said clan of ninjas became confused at the man's knowledge of them, before he shifted his attention to the redhead of the group.

"And April O'Neil herself." He made to move towards her, outstretching an uncertain hand.

Until the fern green turtle shot forwards in an instant, grabbing the front of the strangers shirt, and peering sapphire eyes into him. "You better start talking, Pal." The leader sternly warned. "What's with the photos? Who are you?"

"The name's Kurtzman," The old man introduced with a tip of his hat, backing carefully out of the mutants hold when he released him for cooperating. "Iwasa journalist on the case of the missing scientists last year."

The six gasped to themselves as they remembered.

"Oh yeah... the missing scientists. We never did find them. Or even see them for that matter." Said Miwa regretfully, a mutual feeling the others shared. "We were so wrapped up in getting April's dad back, then the Foot and Kraang became an issue."

"Whatever happened to them all?" Donnie asked the man, though he had a strong feeling that the answer wasn't going to be hopeful.

A disturbing dark look overcame the older man's face, confirming their fears, "Most of them, became experiments for the Kraang after their use was spent." Kurtzman acknowledged, pointing to a few blueprints and blurry photos on the wall furthest away from them, of horribly misfigured mutants. The teens grimaced at the sight of some of them. "And the others...their fates were much less fortunate."

"Dang." Mikey said, dipping his head down with a doleful look in a moment of uncomfortable silence. "Kinda wish we'd found them now..."

"If it helps, you never would've found them." The man tried to console the young ninja. "Not in this dimension anyway." The teenagers shared an uneasy, knowing look at his comment.

With a wary demeanour, Miwa asked, "So, the reason your stalking us?"

Taking that as his hint to move on, Kurtzman turned to the man, or turtle he knew to be in charge. "While I was working on the case, I discovered something much bigger. Please, let me show you."

The group looks towards their leader in unison. Who thinks it over for a moment, then nods to the man.

Kurtzman shows his gratitude for their trust with a smile, and walks over to the desk in the center of the room. He turns the table lamp on and throws aside coffee mugs and scrap paper, making room for a large, and well worn journal. "The Kraang."

"The alien infiltration is long-lived. Ancient, in fact." As he spoke, Kurtzman gestured to photos and art pieces throughout history. From Medieval England, to Ancient Egypt, the pictures clearly depicted the Kraang from long ago. "The Kraang have been trying to use mutagen to terraform the Earth for thousands of years. But they couldn't use the mutagen in our universe without a specific chain of human DNA. They spent millennia capturing people, shaping humankind's genetic code, until finally…"

The man slid a photograph from the back of the book and held it out to the teens. At first no recognition was made, as the Hamatos stared blankly at the picture of a human baby. No more then a few months old.

April however, let out a shocked gasp, and lent closer to the picture with wide eyes. "That's me!"

Kurtzman nodded in confirmation, as the teens all began looking anxious. He flipped to a page in the journal with old photos of April's parents. A younger, and human, looking Kirby with a questionable bright orange afro. And a woman with blonde locks of hair, soft green eyes, and a gentle smile. Together, the two held onto baby April, completing a perfect family photo. "Yourmotherwas taken by the Kraang before you were born. Then, she was experimented on."

The colour drain from her face at this revelation, and the redhead wrapped her arms around herself, "My mom?" Her voice was a broken whisper as she spoke. "She was abducted by them too?"

Donnie came over at this point, and offered a comforting embrace, that she swiftly took to.

April had told the others about her Mother, about how she had disappeared when she was only six. And no one knew what had happened to her, not even April's father. Who grieved his lost Wife for many years, presuming the worst.

"That's why you're so special, April." Kurtzman continued carefully, "Your DNA can perfect the mutagen in this dimension."

April, stunned by all of this information being thrown on her, started to feel faint. If she hadn't been held up by Donnie, she was certain she would be hugging the floor right now. "I... I think I need to sit down." She said, holding her head in one hand, while Donnie used her other to guide her to the couch.

However, just as the atmosphere in the room began to settle into calm, a group of Kraang-droids kicked down the apartment door and charged into the room.

"They found me!" Kurtzman began to panic, shuffling backwards away from the three droids taking up the doorway. The one in the front, had half his face missing, clearly a Kraang that the Hamatos had encountered before, "I don't know how, but they found me!"

One of the two identical droids, put it's gun up, mimicked quickly by the other two. "Kraang, the human known as Kurtzman has allied himself with the ones called 'The Hamatos', who are the Hamatos."

"Yes, Kraang." The other identical droid confirmed. "And the one that is known to Kraang as 'April O'Neil', is also in the place, that is known as here.

"Observe, Kraang." The half faced droid announced, as all three charged up their blasters. "Disintegrate first. Capture for interrogation later."

"And these are the idiots trying to take over our world!" Miwa said with a raised brow, drawing her tantō and charging.

Seconds later, the rapid shooting of pink lasers began, but the Hamatos were already bolting forwards, ready for the fight.

Raphael leapt over Kurtzman and grabbed hold of the half faced droid. For a second, there was a struggle, as the droid locked it's hands tightly around Raph's wrists. But the kelly green turtle gritted his teeth, and kicked the android's leg in half. As the droid crumbled down, he swung it around, and into the wall. Leaving the huck of metal behind as he charged the next unfortunate robot down.

Miwa threw herself at one of the other main three, and managed to snake her way around his back, where she perched on his shoulders, and started to repeatedly stab the droid in the face. She even stuck a shurikan into his charging up gun, and threw it into the hallway, exploding a few more advancing robots back down the stairs.

"Sis! Don't blow up the apartment!" Leo reprimanded, as he slashed a bot in half.

"You take the fun out of everything!" Miwa snapped jokingly back. "And Donnie won't make me any exploding shurikans, so I have to make my own!"

"Nor will I ever!" Said human retorted back from his own fight.

At one point, Michelangelo found himself cornered and shot at, and in his panic he threw a bunch of shurikans at two bots coming closer to the couch. They made their landing and downed the droids, almost falling on April who was sneaking around the back of the couch.

April jumped back at the sudden robots dropping in front of her, accidentally alerting a bot to her whereabouts. As the droid closed in, she fumbled for her tessen, and was inches away from being grabbed.

"Catch!"

Her blue eyes shot up in time to see a kunai come flying towards her, she managed to grab it, and drive it straight into the Kraang's neck. She turnt to Donnie who was currently batting a Kraang droid round the head and smiled gratefully, "Thanks!"

"Keep an eye on your corners." Donnie nodded, spinning his bō around and jabbing another droid away.

"Got it!" April relayed, and pulled her tessen out, ready to fight. And as luck would have it, another Kraang-droid came clanking towards her.

The robot fired at her, and luckily, she managed to unfold the tessen in time to deflect the hit. Which landed on the Kraang's arm instead, annoying the alien greatly. However, the sudden laser hitting the metal fan heated the weapon instantly, and April had to drop her tessen before she was badly burnt.

But without a weapon, she was vulnerable to the Kraang now readying another shot up.

She shuffled backwards, looking for something to use as a weapon, until the droid before her dropped in half at the waist, and the leader in blue stood in it's place.

"Takes a little practice, April." Leo huffed passive aggressively, leaping over the couch to handle the rest.

"So I'm told." The redhead bit back, annoyed that the turtle didn't think she could hold her own.

As droids fell to the floor in pieces, it seemed three more were running to take their place, until the Hamatos realised there was no way to fight off this many Kraang in such an enclosed space.

"Um, Retreat?" Donnie suggested rapidly, already diving out the window with April and Mikey in tow.

"Good plan!" Miwa agreed and the others followed suit.

The only person not currently escaping was Kurtzman, as he tried going back for his journal with all his most important research inside. "I can't leave without my notebook-" But the Kraang opened fire on the man as soon as he went for his work, making him stumble backwards to get away, where he tripped out of the window and over the fire escape. He let out a cry as he plummeted to the floor

"Gotcha!" Thankfully though, Michelangelo was able to wrap his nunchaku around the man's leg, catching him mid air and slowly lowering him down.

The Hamatos plopped down beside him, and even help him up to his feet, as April clumsily made her way down the escape. She lands on the floor unsteadily, and trys recovering by doing a ninja landing pose.

With everyone accounted for, Donnie pulled out his T-phone and swiftly tapped in their coordinates.

Just then, white van screeched around the corner of the street and flung it's back doors open. The teens prepared themselves as out stepped a spider-like saucer robot, with a miniature machine gun attached at the front.

The bug like machine made a skittering noise as it speedily ran toward them, firing off it's gun as it went.

The ninjas, April and Kurtzman dashed out of the alleyway and to the opposite side of the street, where conveniently, a secret entrance for the Shellraiser was hiding. The group piled into the vehicle, which Donnie had called Metalhead to bring, and barrelled their way passed the white van. Leo even backed up at one point to run over the Kraang's gun, before leaving it whimpering in the exhaust smoke as they raced away.

Once the team was sure they were safe, and not being followed, they collectively let out a sigh of relief.

The blue-clad turtle drove around for a bit, trying to put distance between them and the Kraang, until Kurtzman asked him to start taking a few roads, leading them somewhere.

"You got a plan or something?" Miwa asked what all the others were thinking, watching the man direct Leo down the street.

"I do." The man reassured with a nod.

"You ninjas should infiltrate T.C.R.I. And wipe out all the data the Kraang have on April's DNA."

"Infiltrate T.C.R.I.? I thought you guys blew that place up..." April trailed off as a shadow of a building took over the light of the moon.

T.C.R.I dauntingly stood once again. Almost as if it was never gone.

"We did." Miwa confirmed darkly.

"Whoa. They rebuilt T.C.R.I?" Raph asked dumbfounded, "Already??"

"Wait. How do the Kraang even have April's DNA?" Donnie asked confused, currently at his station in the back with Metalhead charging beside him. "They've never gotten her before?"

"Unless! She's been kidnapped before and never told us!" Mikey tried guessing, but the blank faces around the van made him doubt his thought.

"No, Mikey. I haven't." April said, rolling her eyes.

As Kurtzman was about to say something, the eldest girl gasped, "The Worldwide Genome Project!" Miwa said with a click of her fingers. "They must of gotten the test that April dropped back when we were fighting that old lady android in the school."

"I knew I forgot something." April said, her cheeks red at the mention of her mistake.

"Alright." Leonardo said, recovering his teams concentration. "We break in, erase April's DNA codes, and get out. Infiltration only." The ninjas nodded their understanding, and Leo parked the Shellraiser, ready to go.

"Let's do this." April beamed with determination.

"Great." The leader said, liking her enthusiasm. "You and Kurtzman stay outside on lookout." Without another word, Leo jumped out of the van, followed by his siblings and Kurtzman.

April practically ran out after him, "Stay outside?" She said with a very much ticked off expression. "On lookout!?"

"No problem." Kurtzman said, oblivious to the raging girl beside him. He moved closer to the blue-clad turtle and pulled out a card from his pocket. "Take this. It's a key card I stole from one of their vans. It'll get you into T.C.R.I."

"Thanks, Mr. Kurtzman." Leo nodded his approval and slipped the card into his belt.

The man then tipped his hat, and sent them on their way. "Good luck."

"But!-" Before April could fight further, the ninjas were already off over the rooftops, though Mikey and Donnie did stop and share a hesitant glance backwards before ultimately going with their leaders plan.

She sighed, and sent an offended glare towards Kurtzman. Making the older man ease away in confusion. "I'm not a liability!" She muttered to herself, before dashing off down the street after them.

"Should I have stopped her?" Kurtzman thought aloud as he watched her speed away.

A series of bleeps alerted him to the van's door, as Metalhead shook his head disapprovingly at the man, before marching away back to his charging station.

After a second of thinking, Kurtzman shrugged, "Probably not." And went back into the Shellraiser to wait for the team to return.

A few minutes later, the Hamatos found themselves staking out T.C.R.I.

At Leo's order, they started to prepare their grappling hooks when all of a sudden, they heard a loud, struggling grunt from behind. Whirling round, they were greeted to the sight of April pulling herself up the ledge of the building, panting.

They all blinked blankly, and followed her with their eyes as she stumbled over to them, and leant against Donnie's shoulder to catch her breath. "G-gimme...a sec..." She wheezed.

She then took in one big breath and straightened herself up. "Alright! Let's go!"

The Hamatos were still for a moment, before Miwa broke out with a laugh.

"You just don't take no for an answer, do you?" Miwa smirked proudly.

"All right, April." Leo said, trying to salvage the plan. "Stay here and maintain radio communication."

April scoffed at him, and crossed her arms defiantly over her chest. "But I want in on the action too."

Leo sighed, not wanting to repeat himself again. "April-"

"No, Leo!" April snapped abruptly, making all the boy's back up in shock, and Miwa's smirk grow wider. "I am not a liability to this team! I'm involved in this mess just as much as you are, if not, more so! So I'm coming with you to help. End of." She left no room for discussion and walked over to Donnie and Mikey, the mutant of the two, even gave her a high five.

Leo tried to fight back, trying to make up an excuse to keep her behind where she'd be safe, but a hand on his shoulder broke him out of his moment of thought.

"Whether you say stay or go, she's going to follow. You know that." Miwa remarked with sympathy, knowing the feeling of wanting her out of harms way. "I'm sure the five of us can make sure she's safe."

With a reluctant exhale, Leo nodded, and shot the zipline over to T.C.R.I.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The Hamatos, now on the inside of T.C.R.I, drop down from the vents into a large office looking room. With cubicles lining the entire floor, creating a labyrinth of sorts. The strange thing in that room were the many small pink glowing tubes running between and under every cubed area.

Once the whole team was crouched down behind a wall, Leo made the gesture to move quietly ahead.

Mikey happened to stand up a little when they made their move around the walls, and came face to face with a Kraang-droid.

Frightened at the bots sudden appearance, he went to scream, only for a hand to slap over his mouth as Miwa pulled him backwards and all the ninjas pointed their weapons at the Kraang.

But after pausing for a moment, the teens realised that the Kraang wasn't reacting to them, or to anything at all.

It was then, that Donatello stepped forwards and noted how the pink glowing tubes came out from beneath the cube walls and up the androids back. He made a quick glance to the rest of the cubicles before sighing.

"It's okay. It's alright," said Donnie in a hushed tone. "I think these androids are just... charging." He pulled his bō out, and used it to move the Kraang body sideways, showing the others the pink power cord that was attached to the back of it's neck.

Seeing that the droids posed no currently a threat, the teens put their weapons away. Though they stayed vigilante.

"Weird. I wonder if there's Kraang inside of 'em." Raph thought aloud, to which Donnie used his bō again, and lifted up the folded arms of the bot, revealing a sleeping Kraang still inside.

"Gross." Miwa sneered at the squishy brain.

Feeling a little more confident, Mikey walked up to the Kraang and began poking it's face. Laughing to himself as he stretched it's months and flipped it's lips with his fingers. "Dudes, their faces are all rubbery and stuff. Check it out!"

He started moving the jaw like a puppet. Having far too much fun. "Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Donnie stinks. Blah, blah, blah."

"Stop that!" Leo snapped back annoyed, though he kept his voice down. "We gotta move before they wake up. Everybody be quiet, stay close, and do not let Mikey touch anything else."

Just then, an short buzzing noise filled the room, and all of the android's eyes began to flash pink. The teens all automatically turned to Mikey, but we're more mortified to see that he in fact wasn't doing anything wrong.

"Wasn't me!" He whimpered.

All around the room the sounds of hissing was heard as the cables attached to the Kraang-droids necks unlocked and dropped colourlessly to the floor.

"I think they're done charging!" Donnie yelped in fear, "Let's get out of here!"

The group wasted no time, and began running for their lives as an entire office filled with Kraang started to reawaken. The droids all began standing one by one, until the teens had no choice but to drop to the floor to avoid being seen.

They began to panic slightly, as the whole office floor was now awake, but luckily for them, they had dropped a few metres away from the elevator doors.

"Kraang, does this human suit make Kraang look fat?" One Kraang asked his neighbouring Kraang, but judging by Kraang's blank stare back, he knew it did.

The teens shuffled quietly across the floor, until they were inches away from the doors. Leo began rapidly tapping the open button, until said doors whooshed apart, and the teens threw themselves inside.

Once the doors closed behind them, they released a collective sigh of relief.

Leonardo scanned the card Kurtzman had given them, and the speaker playing lobby music had Mrs Campbell's voice come through.

'The floor known as level forty, has been accessed to Kraang.'

"Whew! Not bad so far." Leo said with a huff.

A slight jolt, told the teens they were moving upwards, and they relax a little in the ride up.

Michelangelo found himself bobbing along to the music's tune, while his sister and red-clad brother were clearly losing the will to live.

Raph let out a deep sigh, and plugged his ear slits, irritated. "This music is making my ears bleed."

"Agreed." Miwa said, eye twitching as the lobby music seemed to get louder. With a smirk, she shoved her tantō into the speaker near the buttons.

The teens jumped in surprise at her outburst, and Leo, Donnie and April glared at her while Mikey whined about how he was enjoying it.

"Really?" April commented with a eyebrow raised, her answer back, was a smug shrug.

"Ah. Much better." Raph breathed peacefully.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

As they arrived at the fortieth floor, the team crouched down at the sides of the elevator and waited for Leo to scan the area. Once he deemed the room clear, he gestured forwards with his hand, and the ninjas rolled out of the lift one by one, followed by April crawling after them.

The room was dark, apart from a pink glow coming from the center of the room, but as the teens glanced upwards, they let out startled gasps as a hive of Kraang saucers floated above them.

They all stayed motionless, waving tiny antenna that emerged from the center of their heads back and forth, whilst all facing an enormous hologram of a giant Kraang.

The Hamatos recognised it immediately as the Kraang in the giant metal suit back on the Technodrome. Kraang Prime.

The teens huddled in a far corner, trying to figure out what was happening, and why the Kraang seemed to be in some sort of trance.

"What's goin on, Donnie?" Raph asked the genius of the group.

Donnie's answer, consisted of him cupping his hands on his face, and putting on the most girlish voice he could, "It's a Kraang Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party!" Then he shot Raphael an annoyed glare, which the turtle copied back. "How am I supposed to know?!" The human snapped.

Leo rolled his eyes, and was about to yell at the two's antics, but April then bent over and groaned, clutching her head with one hand.

"Gah...It's Kraang Prime. They're meditating to him..." April winced as the throbbing became more powerful, and she got up and walked towards the hologram, almost as if being pulled by an unseen force.

"Dang Donnie." Miwa said quietly, "Even the Kraang can meditate better then you." The brunet sent her an irritated glare.

"No, they're communicating..." April explained, now face to face with the oversized alien brain. "I can hear their thoughts."

The teens glanced between each other, "You can hear them?" Miwa reiterated worriedly.

"Whoa, man. You're like "tele-pathetic." Mikey said in awe.

"Telepathic." Donnie corrected.

"Whatever." The turtle waved him off.

April heard none of what they were talking about, as the voice of Kraang Prime filled every corner of her mind. As if it's voice was the only one that existed.

"The experiment is nearly complete. Despite setbacks, the mutagen will be ready as planned."

"They're talking about invasion." April reported to the others, a quiver in her voice as she struggled to hear passed the alien.

"Again?" Raph groaned sourly.

Miwa frowned at the news, and turned back to April. "What're they saying now?"

"Soon, we will transform the Earth and all of its hideous people."

April let out a short gasp, and reached for her mouth. But it was too late. Somehow her presence was detected by Kraang Prime. And she was met with his yellowy, green eyes locking onto her.

"What?! Intruders!" Kraang Prime bellowed into the room before the hologram fizzed out. The saucers of Kraang floating above them snapped out of their trance and began screeching, and pink flashing emergency lights blared around the now lite up area.

"Um, guys, what are we thinking?" Mikey whimpered in the back of the group.

"Run!" Yelled Leo, and not a single person hesitated in his order.

They all lunged for the elevator doors, where Leo repeatedly smacked the button praying for it to hurry the heck up.

"Some stealth mission!" Raphael scowled, before also smashing the button. However, he smacked a little too hard, breaking the button entirely.

The team gaped at the broken mess, before Miwa turned to her red-clad brother accusingly. "You Meathead!"

"Dudes!" Mikey's cry calls their attention as he points across the room to where a horde of Kraang have gathered. As well as Mrs Campbell. "It's that freaky chick with the exploding elbows!"

"The android from April's school?" Donnie asks for confirmation, which April nods rapidly too.

As if on cue, the elevator doors weakly slid open, only for Mrs Campbell to fire a missle straight at them from her elbow. The lift exploded, forcing the teens to scatter into different directions.

The Hamatos had no choice but to engage in the fight now, whilst also looking for a way out.

At one point, while the others charged the Kraang head on, Mrs Campbell tried letting off another missle. But Mikey managed to wrap his chain around her arm, and fling the incoming rocket sideways to avoid him and Miwa.

But April on the other hand, who was currently running for her life away from a group of droids, was right in the line of fire.

"April!" Donnie managed to grab her from the side and drop to the floor just as the rocket shot inches away from their heads.

The redhead looked up once the explosion went off. "Thanks- Look out!" Just as Donnie tried getting up, the crossfire of blasters went straight for them. April had wrapped herself around his waist and threw them both back down.

Miwa saw the two pinned, and threw her tantō blade towards said droids and managed to pierce straight through their heads, where they soon clattered to the floor.

The two humans recovered quickly, as more droids were approaching from the side. "Nice save." Donnie exhaled in relief, and went on his way. Filling April with some much needed confidence.

Leonardo managed to slice apart a couple of droids, and even grabbed hold of the top half of ones torso. He used the gun still in it's grasp to shoot down the incoming saucers kamikazing toward them.

Once the flying Kraang were down, the leader became aware of a door along the side wall, and turnt to inform his team. "We got to get to that door-"

But as he pointed to said exit, Mrs Campbell blocked the way, readying her missiles again, followed by a few droids to her sides.

The Hamatos rushed forwards, to take out the blockade, unknowingly leaving April by herself.

"It is the human known as April O'Neil." A droid confirmed and went forwards to grab her. But April was ready for it.

Pulling free her tessen, she delivered a smack right upside the head, she seemed pleased with her hit, until she realized that it made no impact whatsoever.

When the droid grab her free wrist, she began to panic. Whacking it with her fan again, and again. But the robot didn't ease off.

"I am NOT!"She started with a growl, stubbornness flaring as she beat down the robot uselessly. "Gonna ask for HELP!"

But no matter what she did, her attacks did nothing. The Kraang grabbed hold of her other wrist, and locked it's fingers in place. Where it then began dragging her away.

Knowing now she was screwed, she gave up trying to be brave, and began frantically kicking and yelling, "Um! Help! HELP! DONNIE!"

Donnie pivoted around at her scream, and his eyes widened as he saw her being taken away. "April!" The brunet went to run after her, but he was suddenly tackled aside by Leo, avoiding Ms. Campbell's rougue missle.

The two teens looked up in time to see the Kraang take her through another door to their left. "Oh no!" Donnie grimaced as half a ton of turtle got off of him, and pulled him up.

Seeing time was now of the essence, Leo turned to his brother, "Raph! Take down Ms. Rocket Arms!" He ordered.

"Already on it!" He hollered smugly, before throwing one of his sai straight into her elbow hole. The hole spark and fizzed, and Mrs Campbell let out a shriek before exploding, taking out the droids around at the same time.

The explosion sent the sai spinning back towards the group, where Raphael jumped up and reclaimed his weapon.

"Let's get April!" Donnie yelled, and lead the charge into the hallway passed the door.

However as they ran around the strangely circular corridor, they were greeted by April running back towards them.

"Run!" She cried out, rushing past them.

"Or not..." Miwa was about to comment on how weird that was, until a round of Kraang blasters started firing on them. The Hamatos wasted no time following after her.

"In here!" April waved them down from up ahead and pointed to a cell to hide in. Not seeing many other choices, they did so, and closed the doors behind them.

Once the teens had piled in, they took a moment to breath.

Raphael then frowned, when he realised where they were. "So, why are we hiding in a dead end?"

When the others also became aware of the situation they scrambled to find a way out, but the doors were locked firmly in place. "Door's locked. We're trapped..." Leo huffed.

"Ha ha ha ha..."

The Hamatos swivelled round to April, who was now manically laughing, a terrifying unnaturally wide smile plastered on her face.

Their eyes widened in horror however, when a hissing sounded above them, and gas began to fill the room, leaving the teens gagging and coughing.

"Poison gas!" Donnie yelled through his coughs, "April, why are you-" He went to shake some sense into the girl, but something about her seemed off, the unnatural smile, the way her eyes seemed just a little bit too large... "Your not April!" He cried and backed away from the imposter, still cackling away to herself.

The Hamatos became desperate to find a way out, but the gas kept coming, and started taking it's toll as it filled their lungs.

"Got to... get out!" Leo snapped, and began ramming his shoulder into the door.

"There is no escape, Hamatos." The April imposter sneered, delighted by their struggling hacks, and red eyes.

"What are you? What have you... done with April!" Donnie coughed accusingly, but before he could grab hold of the 'other April', she snatched his wrist up and twisted him round. Before kicking him away and into the other door.

"You will not see her again." She said, her grin somehow growing wider.

"Donnie! No." Mikey hacked out, before also falling to his knees.

Running out of options, the teens covered their mouths, and tried to hold out.

"Donnie... Mikey!" Leo called out, shuffling back to put himself between 'April', and his brothers. He pulled his katana out, only for the imposter to grab hold of the blade and smack the hilt into his plastron, which sent him crashing down also. The sheer strength of this double was insane, she was maybe four times stronger then the real April was.

"It's some kinda android!" Raph barked out his words, and charged her, only to be met with similar results to his brothers.

As her younger brothers lay gasping for air, Miwa decided enough was enough. She barreled forwards with a yell, wrapping herself around the other April's waist, and slammed her face first into the control panels.

'April' shrieked as her face lite up with electricity, sparking out and overriding the controls to the door before she suddenly exploded into a pile of black gloop.

The door swooshed open, and the teens practically dragged themselves out the room. Laying on the floor and with raspy breaths, taking in fresh air heavily for a while.

"It was some kind of replica..." Donnie gasps between mouthfuls of air. "A... fake April..."

"But she... looked so real." Mikey spluttered beside him. "Like Tofu bacon!"

"Come on." Leo huffed in a hard breath when he got to his feet, "We got to find... the real April."

The teens all got to their feet and hurried down the hallway, but not before Raph shot Mikey a strange glare. "And Tofu bacon does not look real."

"It tastes real, though!" Mikey argued back.

Miwa shook her head, "That's the point, Genius!"

Just as they started moving again, the teens were halted in their path by a red small light moving around the floor.

Looking up, they saw it came from a miniature laser gun attached to the ceiling. The light went over Mikey's foot, and let off several laser right at him.

Luckily he managed to dodge them all, and fall backwards away from the blaster. "I bet whatever's behind that door is pretty important." He mused aloud, huddling his feet close.

Leonardo decided to stealth run the laser, and hopped straight passed the light. Where he slid the card from Kurtzman in the keypad. The blaster retreated into the ceiling and the doors unlocked.

Leading the Hamatos into a large room, containing a huge alien computer in the middle, with a tank of mutagen above it. And around the circular room, were dozens of rectangular glass containers. It was eerily similar to the World Wide Genome Project lab. However, instead of animal DNA, inside these tanks was something much more terrifying...

"By Darwin's beard... April clones!" Donnie stared in disturbed disbelief.

"Weird." Mikey said as he moved closer to one of the tanks.

"They're perfect genetic duplicates!" Donatello continued on to himself. Peering into the glass containers at the haunting replicas of his girlfriend. Even he had to admit, this was a few too many April's for comfort.

"Weird!" Mikey said yet again, pressing his face flat against the glass.

"But... why?" Miwa struggled for words, gesturing towards them, "What's the point of having dozens of April's?"

"I bet the Kraang have been growing them to harvest her DNA." Donnie said darkly, entering a sciencey tone as he examined the containers. "But my guess is, the DNA they have, isn't enough. Which is why there's so many."

The clone in the tank Mikey was currently watching, opened her eyes blankly, staring through him rather then at. And Michelangelo threw himself away with a gasp. "Weird!-"

"I got it, okay!" Donnie snapped, making Mikey shrink slightly into his shell with a sheepish grin.

"So where's the real April?" Raph murmured grimly. Which made the others stop, and look around at the masses of April's uneasily.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

She wasn't sure when, but April figured she must of passed out. Or at least, that's what she told herself, but the small prick on the side of her neck didn't make her feel very certain.

The Kraang had dragged her off, who knows where, and at some point, they even changed her out of her clothes and into a white jumpsuit. Which was definitely not something she wanted to think about.

The redhead realised with horror that she was strapped down to a table, ankles, wrists, waist, chest and even neck. Yet what scared her the most, was the world's biggest needle dangling right above her, pointed straight for her forehead.

She stared dead ahead, frantically struggling against the restraints, whilst trying her hardest to ignore the dozen Kraang all stood around her. She wanted nothing more then to rip their stupid heads off, but she proved to herself just how much of a burden she was. In need of saving, yet again.

The unblinking eyes above her remained watching, like she was some sort of experiment. And unfortunately, she was.

"The DNA that belongs to the April clones is lacking, Kraang." Kraang informed the others around the table. "Kraang needs more real April DNA."

At first, April was confused. What did they mean April clones? But then she became aware of what they had said, and she was smart enough to add that, and the giant needle together. She paled significantly at that, "Uh, how 'bout I just give you some hair or something? That has DNA." She stammered out, scared.

"That is correct." Kraang confirmed, stepping aside with the other Kraang and making way for the needle now whirring to life. "But this is far more entertaining to Kraang."

April began pressing herself into the table, a pointless attempt at putting distance between her and the sharp object coming to close to her face.

But it wasn't stopping, and April's fear only grew greater, until all she could do was let out a terrified scream.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The scream echoed down the halls, and made it's way into the clone room, where the others were still figuring out their next move. They all gasped and turned to the doorway on the balcony above.

"That was April!" Shouted Donnie, standing in the center, about to break into the computer.

The leader waved a hand at the others and took off to the door, "Come on! We have to hurry-"

"The ones known as, the Hamatos, are in the place that is here."

All five teens stop at the unexpected androids in their tracks, a swarm of them soon filled the upper floor.

"Kraang. Open the bin that is known as the Reject Bin." Kraang said.

Another Kraang-droid ran over to the wall and pushed a large button. And suddenly, a trap door from behind the teens shifted, and opened up into a pitch black hole.

The Hamatos prepared themselves for the so called 'Rejects', but we're caught completely off guard as a regular human hand grabbed hold of the side. Followed by a perfect looking April clone.

"Huh. I expected worse to be honest." Miwa shrug confidently, and spun her tantō around in her hand.

Her cocky pride quickly deflated however, as the clone began to pull itself out of the hole. They all cried out in fright as a horribly disfigured and misshapen April clone emerged.

Stood tall at almost eight feet, with two heads, one normal, and one grotesque looking April. Her limbs were extraordinarily long, with one large and almost liquefied looking leg, and one arm doubling the length of the first.

The misshapen clone yelled at them all, a mix between April's own scream and a roar of some deformed beast, and her three eyes, glared threateningly at all in the room.

"What the heck is that!?" Leo shouted, having to dodge quickly to the side as the grotesque foot smashed down beside him.

"DERP DERP DERP!" The reject bellowed out, plowing through the Hamatos, and even taking out most of the Kraang with her longest arm. Swatting them down like flies.

"It's some kind of a reject clone," said Donnie, answering Leo's question. "A genetic mishap!"

Said mishap, then threw herself at the Hamatos, trying to grab them. But the ninjas flipped out of her reach, and she collapsed clumsily to the floor.

"April Derp!" Mikey yelled out, naming the clone as he fled for his life. "Derp, derp, derp', Get it?"

"We get it!" Miwa snapped urgently.

As they flipped and dodged the giant clone, smacking it with their weapons to try and find a weak spot, another cry flowed down the hallway.

Being closest to the doorway, Raphael decided to go. "You guys take care of the derp. I'll rescue April." He then flipped over the deformed clone, and ran through the door.

As much as Donnie would of loved that job, he knew he was needed here for more pressing matters. And he was confident that Raph would get to her in no time.

"Leo!" The brunet called to the leader, "Do you think, you, Mikey and Miwa can keep that thing busy while I clear the data?"

Without hesitation, all three nodded and raced back to the clone. "On it!" They began to lead it round the other side of the computer, buying Donnie time to do his work.

In the other room, April was still struggling to break out of the restraints, and by now, the needle was practically above her. But despite everything, she couldn't do it. She wasn't strong enough to free herself. She wasn't strong enough to fight, and save the people she cared for...

She closed her ocean blue eyes tightly, and couldn't help the slight whimper of fear that passed her lips as she awaited the inevitable.

But then, the machine came to an unexpected stop. And slowly wired down.

"April!"

She shot her eyes upwards at her name, as did the Kraang around her, to see Raphael perched atop the drill.

Despite the fear still in her, she managed to crack a smile, before joking to the other, "Great. Saved by Raph. I'm never gonna live this down."

Raphael shrugged in fake understanding. "Eh, we've all been there, April." He then pulled out his sai, and lunged himself straight for the Kraang, taking one down as he landed on it's back.

Kelly green flashed around the room, as he shot here and there, smashing and kicking the androids as they approached him. It was going well for him, until an unseen droid grabbed his arm from behind.

The seconds that followed were quick, the rest of the bots swarmed around him fast, and he couldn't handle the sheer number now gripping onto him. They held his arms and legs still, and began slowly weighing him down by also latching onto his shell.

Raph growled, and tried shaking them off, "Let me go!" He struggled to get free, and soon he collapsed to the floor under the dog pile, where more droids came over and pinned him to the floor.

"RAPH!" April cried out, frantically pulling at her restraints yet again. Trying but to no prevail.

"APRIL!" His emerald eyes were like pin pricks as the machine roared back to life, and started moving much faster then before.

"Do not struggle." One Kraang-droid said, as it went back to watching over the teenage girl. "The one called April O'Neil will soon expire."

The needles approach was unstoppable, no matter how much April tried tugging and yanking her head away, the sharp instrument was going to impale her.

Her breathing picked up, and panic soon followed as she realised there was no way out of this.

Then, her headache returned. Larger, more violent then ever. A constant, thumping bang, aggressively hitting her brain. It travelled through her nerves, her veins, until ever part of her felt like it was yelling out. Screaming. "No! "NOOOOO!!!!"

An unseeable shock wave pulsed through the room, as April's eyes clenched shut in fear and pain, and a blood curdling cry ripped throughout the entire T.C.R.I building.

Her scream was so powerful, the Kraang-droids shrieked in pain, before all doubling over and deactivating.

In the clone room, the misshapen reject clone groaned out and exploded into a large black liquid puddle. Coating the poor four ninjas who were left in there with her in gloop.

Raphael had also managed to squeeze himself free from the collapsed Kraang's dog pile. Wasting no time, he ran to get a very disoriented April away from the table as the machine kept going. With the redhead moved, the needle impaled straight through the headrest.

He slung her arm over his shell, and basically carried her away from the table. "You okay?" He asked dumbfounded, still trying to grasp what had just happened.

"Brain on fire... ready to pop." She whispered quietly, a hand gripping her aching temples. "Other than that? Meh."

"April!" The rest of the Hamatos, still partly covered in April derp, made their way through the doors and towards the pair stumbling toward them.

As Donatello came close enough, Raph relinquished his hold on April as his brother took over. "Good job, Raph." The human smiled gratefully.

"Um," Raph awkwardly rubbed his head, unsure of how to explain what had happened. "Don't thank me."

The Hamatos stared quizzically at him, before trailing down to the redhead.

"You?" Donnie asked, to which April weakly nodded.

"How on earth-" Miwa began in shock, before shaking her head quickly. "You know what? Later."

Donnie beamed beside April, and gave her a gentle shoulder squeeze. "See? I told you you were ready. You just needed some motivation."

"Ready for a bottle of painkillers, maybe." April quipped back, pushing him jokingly in the side. "But, thanks, D."

Alarm bells blared overhead, and the room turned pink in warning.

"Uh oh!" Mikey muttered. "Time to haul shell."

They all turnt and ran back toward the door, re-entering the clone room. But the minute they went in, they became surrounded by dozens of clone April's, who somehow managed to escape their tanks.

"Where are you going, guys? Trying to ditch me? Let's get out of here. We gotta hurry. Come on. It's me, April. Where are you going, guys? Come on. Let's get out of here!"

Each clone tried closing in on the Hamatos, grabbing and pulling at their arms and legs, while all speaking over one another.

Seeing an upcoming situation, Donnie guided April behind the group and away from the clones. The last thing they needed was to lose her in a sea of her own face.

But as the teens tried pushing back, smacking and cutting a few April's away, more took their place.

And they all began to get aggressive. They started desperately breaking through the group, until one clone managed to grab hold of the real April, yanking her into the crowd.

"Oh no!" Miwa yelled and tried snatching her hand back, but April quickly became just another desperate face trying to get their attention.

"It's me, April! No, I'm the real April! I am! It's me! No, I am! I'm April!"

"April!" Donnie called out hopelessly.

"Whoa dudes!" Mikey yelled as the clones finally got all five teens cornered. "Which one is which?"

"We got to hurry. Come on. No, I'm the real April! It's me. I am. It's me. No, I am!"

The real April struggled to get through the uncountable number of imposters, but decided enough was enough. She took out her tessen, and sliced through a couple of the clones. Leaving piles of gloop in their place.

"Yep, that's the real April!" Donnie confirmed with an affectionate grin.

At that, the Hamatos freed their weapons and began to take down the clones. Explosions of black ink splattered everywhere, as the clones shrieked out. And soon, the one and only April was the only redhead in the room.

"Okay, that was just gross, dudes." Mikey whined, and flung some gloop off his weapon. "There's 'April derp' on my chucks!"

"Let's move. Hurry!" Leo ordered, and soon the teenagers were rushing outside, bolting down the street with a horde of Kraang-droids hot on their tail, blasters shooting manically.

"They're gaining on us!" Yelled Miwa urgently.

And as if on cue, the Shellraiser came barrelling down the street, drifting to a stop before them and opening the doors with a light ding.

From the driver's seat, Kurtzman tipped his hat, and gestured for the kids to get a move on. "Get in!"

They piled into the van, and sped away, watching from the back cameras as the Kraang, as well as T.C.R.I faded away into the night.

Once they were a safe distance away, Kurtzman slowed the Shellraiser down, and let out a relived sigh. He glanced back to the six teens in the back, covered with strange black gloop and on the brink of exhaustion. "You kids alright?"

The leader of the team standing by the driver's seat, looked over his group. Miwa, Mikey and Raph were all slumped at their stations, while Donnie and April sat shoulder to shoulder, with their hands locked together at the back of the van, next to the now active Metalhead, who kept watch of his creators station.

They all smiled and nodded back warmly, "Yeah. Thanks for the save, Mr. Kurtzman." Leo said gratefully.

"I owed you one." He reminded them, sending a nod Mikey's way. To which, the turtle beamed back. "So did you wipe out the Kraang computers?"

"We did. By the skin of our noses." Donnie sighed out, resting his head on April's shoulder.

"The only reason we survived was because of April." Raphael said with pride. "Whatever you did back there saved us all."

April grinned awkwardly, she had to admit that she too was impressed with herself. "I have no clue what I did. I was freaking out, and then, 'Zap!' The Kraang were toast!"

"Well, whatever it was, was badass." Miwa snickered from her seat.

"April. We're sorry we kept insisting you should stay behind." Said Leo remorsefully, "We just didn't want something like, this, to happen."

"It's okay, Leo. I'm sorry for causing a mess once again." She smiled sadly to herself before flopping back against the van with a sigh. "If it helps, I think I'm all missioned out for now." She said, earning chuckles and grins all around.

"Well. I guess I'm walking from here." Kurtzman suddenly announced to the van of teens. He parked up and went to swap seats with the leader, but the small metallic turtle began shooing him away from the wheel as he took the seat himself.

Kurtzman put his hands up in peace, which the robot bleeped back too, giving a salute as the man moved.

The man then made his way over to the door, "Somebody's got to keep an eye on the Kraang. They're everywhere." He handed Leonardo a business card, and tipped his hat to all in gratitude. "If you ever need my expertise, you know where to find me."

Leo nodded, and the others waved him out.

"Thanks, Stalker." Miwa smirked, and luckily Kurtzman did take it as the friendly joke it was meant to be, and departed.

When they returned home, the teenagers were instantly drawn to the couch, where they all collapsed lazily onto it.

Splinter came out of the dojo to greet his children, but his ears soon perked up as he noticed that their 'Very simple training session', had clearly lead to an altercation between an enemy.

He made his way to the pit, and was thankful to see no injuries on his children, beside the odd cut and bruise here and there. And a strange and chemical smelling black goo on four of his kids.

Whilst his father hung around, Leonardo decided to debrief him on the events of the night. And after he had finished and they decided to call it a night, Donatello stepped in and mentioned some news.

During the fight, he had snuck an advanced USB stick into the computer, and downloaded the DNA codes for himself to check out. He wanted to know why the Kraang were so bent on getting from April's DNA. Or more specifically why it was so special to them.

He quickly excused himself and left for the lab, leaving the other five teens and Splinter in the pit.

After an hour and a bit, he came out of the lab with a paler face then he went in with, causing alarm to the others who immediately flocked to him.

He asked for them all to come to the lab, especially April, as he needed to test her blood to be sure of something.

And that is where they were now, waiting around anxiously while Donnie and Metalhead ran around the lab, running multiple tests.

Donnie had moved aside some things on his already cluttered desk to make room for the tests on April's blood. Journals stacked lazily on top of one another, crumbled up paper balls that weren't thrown around the room, a jar filled with lollipops, and beakers and vials filled with unknown liquids, liquids he hoped would soon become the retro-mutagen, were all sent to the far side of the desk, and even onto some of the others.

On his laptop, there were lines and lines of decrypted code, though even in it's translated version, the others had no clue what any of it meant.

"Metalhead, run a quick breakdown test on this blood sample, please." Donnie asked, handing the blood sample to his robot while he typed a mile away on his laptop.

The other teens hung around nervously, boredom not even crossing their minds as they awaited the test. April paced around in front of Donnie's desk anxiously, and even Splinter stayed close, concern visible on his face.

The little bot took the vial of April's blood and popped it inside his arm. Like a makeshift centrifuge, he spun the blood around, and even added a few chemicals from separate compartments to finish the analysis.

Once he was finished, he grabbed the vial and passed it carefully back with a few beeps.

"Thank you, bud." Donnie said, before turning to his telescope. He placed a drop of blood onto a glass panel and slid it under. And no more then a minute of looking, his eyes widened yet again. "So it is true..." He murmured grimly.

All sensing the tension, the teens as well as Splinter, moved in closer.

"Well, what'd you find out, Donnie?" Leo asked unsurly.

"This doesn't seem... possible..." The genius stammered out.

Miwa winced, you know it's bad when the science guy tried to deny it, "Well, that's never good..."

"What is it? What's wrong?" April got up close to him, worry clear on her face.

With a look of pure seriousness, Donnie faced her fully. "Based on all the info I've culled from the clone lab, your cellular makeup is actually a morphogenesic blend of human... and Kraang DNA."

April stumbled back slightly, knocking over a beaker on the desk as Splinter caught her arm in her fall. "Wait... Are you saying..."

"You're not entirely human, April." Donnie confirmed. "That's why you have psychic powers. In fact, you are a half-human, half-alien... Mutant."

"A mutant!?" The Hamato siblings all yelled in shock, even their father was stunned by the news. Donnie could only answer them with a simple nod.

"Aw, yeah! Welcome to the family!" Mikey exclaimed cheerfully, only to receive a slap round the head, courtesy of his sister.

Unlike him, April was far from celebrating. Her eyes were wide in disbelief, and her world felt like it was crashing down around her. "A mutant?..."
