So fingers crossed they can!

ALSO! The first drabbles will hopefully be out next month when I upload the next chapter!

There aren't any reviews for this chapter as I'm pretty sure alot of people haven't been able to even read the last chapter? But I promised to get this out this month, and that is what I've done!

WARNING: 'Dyslexic writer lol'.

Chapter 28

Gusts of cool wind rushed through the boy's fluffy hair as he sped along the cobblestone path.

Racing down the hill, with the overhead lanterns looking no more then colourful blurs as he went.

He juggled his boat around in his arms, weaving his way in-between the few people and carts coming up the opposite direction, making sure to hold tightly to his project. But the further he went, the more people seemed to flock the street. Blocking his way to the lake.

The boy stopped, and bounced on his feet impatiently, trying to figure out a way around them all, he was on a time limit after all. But the adults kept stopping, chatting about their day with each other, and keeping him from his destination.

He huffed in annoyance at the chattering adults, could they not see he was on a very important mission?

That was when a great idea came to his mind.

He grinned mischievously and squeezed his way through a few more grown ups, ignoring when they told him off for pushing past them, until he made it to the other side of the road, where the bushes lined the path.

Between some of these bushes, there was a secret path leading through the forest beyond, and right down to the lake.

The boy's Sofu had shown him this path, and said it was a fisherman's secret entrance, and to never reveal it. The boy kept his promise, and never spoke of it to anyone.

With a playful gap-toothed smile, he snuck his way through the bushes, onto the path and into the clearing of trees, where he followed the shortcut further down the hill.

As he jumped down the makeshift stone stairs, he caught sight of the lake at the bottom, it's pebbly bank was within eyesight and it made the child grin with barely contained excitement.

However, as he kept running along, he glanced at the stones ahead of him and spotted three green blobs, all steadily making their way to the lake at the bottom.

The child's mahogany eyes grew even larger, and he took in a deep breath at the sight, almost losing grip on his boat. "TURTLES!!" He all but screamed before racing down the path towards them, giggling.

He stopped beside the three reptiles, an apologetic expression on his face when they all hid away into their shells, "Hello again!" He whispered quietly, and watched as one of them cautiously started to peak it's heads out of their shell.

He crouched down, so he wouldn't scare them again, and met eyes with the smallest turtle, "Are you using the secret passage too?"

Peering up at him, the littlest reptile chirped, as if replying to the child. And soon, the other two started to come out aswell, intrigued by the strange boy. "You must not tell anyone though! Or else Sofu will be sad."

The turtle's seemed to cock their heads to the side, and the boy took that as them agreeing to the fisherman secret!

"I can lead you to the lake if you want?" He asked them, and began taking purposefully slow steps forwards. And as he looked back to see the tiny terrapins marching after him, he let out an excited squeal and danced around on the spot.

And once again, though now at a very slowed pace, the child and the turtles were trudging their way down to the lake.

A few days flew by since the mushroom fiasco, and all was surprisingly quiet around the Hamatos. Casey had been hanging out with his Dad and Sister, while April and her Aunt decided to do a girl's trip away for the weekend. Her Aunt wanted to get out of the house and spend some time with April while her Father was away on 'business'.

And as well as catching up on their much needed daily lives and schoolwork, this left the sewer occupants to their own devices for a while.

Master Splinter had noticed that his children were doing physically well after the fungus outbreak, but mentally however, he noted that things could of been far better. And he grew more and more worrisome as the days went.

Miwa felt a need to prove too herself that she was a able kunoichi. Ready to take on everything and anything, including the Shredder if he ever did come for her again. Even when training, she put all of her energy into even the simplest of katas. But mostly, she wanted to be better then she already was, something her Father and Mother could be proud of.

Leonardo forced himself to train more physically. To be a better leader, ready to take on the responsibilities in order to keep his family safe. He over exerted himself to the point of exhaustion on many occasions. And where it was normal for Splinter to see his eldest son in the dojo after training hours, his now near constant presence in there only left his Father unsettled.

Raphael mainly focused all his time on working out his pent up frustration over everything that happened. The training dummy in the living area was unfortunately his prime target, and showed new tears and missing limbs from the overall abuse. Raph wanted to protect his family, and he would make himself strong enough to do so. Still feeling the guilt over not protecting Spike, and blaming himself for his friend's fate.

Michelangelo became alot more smiley, and attentive towards his family. Trying his best to make sure everyone was happy, and if they needed help in anyway, to let him know. He even started to do more then his share of tasks and chores around the lair, like cleaning and laundry, and even extra cooking. But Splinter could see the smile was forced, and his son only did these acts to prove his reliability and validation to his family, which he didn't need to do.

And lastly, Donatello had thrown himself even deeper into his research, if that were even possible. Staying up nights on end and making no appearances during the day either, as the retro-mutagen took up his every waking hour. And with all his siblings occupied, only Splinter was around to make sure the boy actually came out to eat or sleep.

In the beginning, Splinter had allowed his children to deal with their frustrations how they wished. Feeling it was best for them to figure things out independently. But when yesterday's morning training came about, and all five teenagers looked seconds away from falling to the floor unconscious, he forced a stop to their self-destructive antics.

He dismissed them all, and instructed them to take a day of rest. Do things that brought them peace and a calm mind. He told them that he understood they were still healing from the events of a few nights ago, and that they may express those feelings, and deal with any lingering doubts as they wished. But that working themselves to exhaustion just to prove a point to themselves, was foolish.

At their Sensei's lecture, they realised he was right, and that working themselves to the bone wouldn't accomplish anything. So they took his order seriously, and had the day off to recuperate, so that the next day could be a fresh start.

Miwa had asked her Father for a one on one tea ceremony, asking if they could speak about her Mother more. About her past, and what she was like as a person, and a Mother. Which Splinter wholeheartedly accepted.

Leonardo took this time to do some solo meditation, he closed his door, lit candles and incense, which helped him focus his mind, and allowed himself to truly calm his mind of all the building stress.

Raphael made use of the fact he was free from training and chores for a whole day, and managed to get Casey to hangout with him, the two had their own little patrol around the city, they hit up a skatepark, and even got to beat up the purple dragons towards the end of the night.

Michelangelo made use of this time to continue working on the 'secret project' only he and Splinter knew about so far. His Father, who was actually the one to come up with this project, agreed and even gave him some of his own art supplies. And before long, Mikey also shut himself in his room, requesting that no one entered so they didn't disturb his artistic flow.

Donatello also requested some alone time, but ended up going back to his lab, much to the other's disappointment. Even his Sensei felt his words had gone unheard, but Donnie reassured them all that he would be 'relaxing', as they called it, and disappeared once more behind the metal sliding doors.

When training rolled around the next morning, Splinter allowed time for everyone to get up, before waiting patiently underneath the tree, expecting well rested children.

He was pleased to see Leonardo enter the dojo, his usual enthusiasm about morning training clear on his face. He was then followed by Miwa, tying her hair into a low ponytail, before swatting at her maroon shozoku, neatening it out. Both the older teens looked better, and ready for the day.

A few minutes behind them, Michelangelo bound his way into the room with a cheery demeanour, only this time, it was not forced. Then Raphael groggily trudged his way in a few minutes later, clearly still wishing for his bed, but here nonetheless.

The minutes ticked on, and the four teens waited around with their Sensei. Splinter's ears flickered backwards and he let out a silent concerned hum when there remained no sign of his youngest.

That was, until a clanking of metal coming across the living area sounded outside. And soon, Donatello entered the dojo, dressed ready in his maroon uniform and with him, a brand new looking Metalhead.

Donnie held the small turtle's hand, and lead him into the room, like a Father taking his child to school for the first time.

The teenagers and their Master eyed the two with clear quizzical looks as they made their way inwards.

"Donatello?" Splinter eyed his son inquisitively as he brought the shiny waist height robot to where his siblings had lined up, and stood him beside Mikey. "What are you up too?"

"Well! I'm glad you asked, Sensei!" Donnie beamed with a permanent grin on his face. He cleared his throat and moved out of his robots way. "Last night, I created a new A.I program for Metalhead! One that would allow him to partake in training session and missions!"

His siblings blinked dumbly at him, and even Splinter looked taking aback.

"Don, you know he said to relax, last night? Right?" Raph questioned his brother's motives, as well as his sanity.

"This is how I relax." Said Donnie, gesturing to his robot who gave a thumbs up in reply.

"Nerd." Raph coughed out, earning a nudge and disapproving glare from his Sister.

Splinter also shot his red-clad son a hard look, before returning to the human boy, "You have been working on this all night?"

"Well... maybe not all night?" Donnie replied sheepishly, knowing his Master was already onto him. "Metalhead looked like he need some fine tuning. Both his program, and physically." The robot nodded along, clearly happier with his new programing, and look.

Splinter took in his son's words, and hummed. Who was he to tell his son how to relax, and it did truly look like he had taken time to calm his mind and think of something other then the formula that had been consuming him for months now.

And beside, Splinter found himself rather fond of his child's robotic friend. He had helped him on many occasions, be it rescuing him from the Foot headquarters, or just lending a hand with medical needs.

With an acknowledging nod, Splinter stepped to one side. "Very well, you may test out this, new A.I." He wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but he had faith in his young genius.

Donnie grinned excitedly and raced over to Metalhead to make sure everything was in working order, only having to stop every now and then to swat Mikey away, as he tried poking and prodding the robot.

Soft whirring sounds came to life as Metalhead began fully powering on, readying his fighting programs up. Followed by a short sequence of beeps.

The robots blue screen like eyes focused inwards, showing the heart rates, and temperatures of those around him

And he saw before him the human he had come to know as his creator. And beside him, his 'Siblings', had all gathered round.

Metalhead let out a chirping bleep, letting Donnie know he was up and fully functional.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! I give you the new and improved Metalhead!" Donnie threw his hands to his side, giving Metalhead the spotlight. Which the turtle-bot gladly took.

He strutted forwards, even posing here and there as he showed off his new silver and maroon paint job, a maroon painted mask over his eyes, aswell as the covered up Foot sigil, now replaced with the Hamato crest on his right chest plate. A few touch ups here and there, and he was practically new metal!

"Whoa!" Mikey awed at the miniature turtle, hyping him up as he 'walked the runway'.

Donnie gave the bot an applause, which the little turtle bowed too. "With his upgraded artificial intelligence, he'll be the perfect training tool!"

"You sure he can handle it?" Leo asked almost cockily, pulling out his katanas and stopping in front of the bot, as Metalhead showed him his hand, gesturing for him to 'Come at him'. "What if he breaks something?"

"He won't break anything." Donnie assured him, but then shot the robot a serious look and whispered, "Don't break anything!"

The robot nodded in understanding, and began internally scanning the siblings circling him, as well as all the breakable things in the dojo, so that he may avoid them.

Miwa cracked her knuckles and also took hold of her weapon. "Just promise you won't be mad if we break him instead." She smirked, putting two fingers at her eyes, before turning them to the bot. "I've been dying to kick somethings butt for a few days now!"

"I've programmed him to simulate dozens of fighting styles, including ours, the Foots and the Kraang." Donnie reiterated smugly, "I'm sure he can hold his own against you all."

"Pssh, can't simulate my fighting style." Mikey laughed, tucking his chucks under his arms and joining his siblings as they circled the robot.

With a shark like grin, Raphael pushed Mikey aside, "Let's just go already!" He then sprinted forwards for the turtle-bot.

However, he wasn't expecting to see Metalhead meet him head on seconds later, delivering a forceful blow to the plastron that sent him rolling across the tatami mats.

Leonardo went next, leaping into the air and bringing his katana down onto the bot, but Metalhead was quick to seize the blade between his hands. He then kicked out a dozen times, knocking the leader against the faraway wall, where his katana stabbed just above him, barely missing his head.

As Leo peaked up at the robot past his blade, Metalhead gave him a thumbs up, only to bleep and turn it downwards. Ticking off the turtle in blue.

Donatello then took a go, and raced over with his bō twirling beside him. He tried to jab at the robot, who was able to grab the staff on the fifth go, and spin the stick around, throwing Donnie and the weapon away.

"My turn!" Miwa said, rushing up to him and slashing down with her tantō repeatedly, until Metalhead saw an opening and grabbed hold of her wrist, flinging her away. But unlike her brother's, Miwa managed to land back on her feet, and was readying up for another go at the turtle-bot.

Swapping out his hand for a firearm, Metalhead started shooting blue plasma bullets at the kunoichi, similar to those of the Kraang, and kept her busy dodging them while he turned to the last turtle standing.

Michelangelo whooped and charged after the robot with his nunchaku spinning.

While keeping his blaster on the girl, Metalhead slid open his 'mask' and let out miniature eye missiles.

The freckled turtle was able to batter them away as they came closer, knocking them all across the room, until Metalhead stopped, and closed his mask back up. Mikey grinned at his victory, and stuck his tongue out at the robot.

Metalhead let out a ticked off bleep at the rude turtle, and decided that he wasn't finished with him yet.

Once Mikey had blown his raspberry, the bot responded back by launching one of his rocket fists right at him. It grabbed hold of the mutants face, and took to the air, soaring through the room and knocking down the others as they tried to get up.

"Get it off!" Mikey screamed, barreling into Raphael, before taking off again with a yell.

"Yame!" Splinter ordered, stamping his cane against the mats. The teens that weren't currently in the air rushed over and huddled respectfully before their Sensei, however his amber eyes were on his son still currently airborne.

"Can I get off the ride now?" Mikey whined, still being dragged around like a ragdoll.

"Donatello!" Said Splinter strictly, tapping his cane for more of an emphasis.

"Uh, Sorry Sensei!" Donnie winced, "Metalhead, stop training program!" He ordered, rubbing his neck nervously as the tiny bot obeyed, releasing Mikey's face. The bot then ran up and also stood before the Ninja Master. "Maybe a little overboard with the fist rocket there, Buddy?"

Metalhead looked guilty down, not meaning to hurt anyone.

The light green turtle unfortunately crashed down hard, scuffing his face against the mats and landing with his shell in the air. "I think he put my chin on my nose!" Groaned Mikey, struggling to make out left from right, and feeling over his numb features.

"Well, that was a disaster." Miwa huffed, sorting out her turquoise bandana while secretly annoyed that she'd been one upped by a robot.

"Actually, overall, I'd say that was a pretty successful test." Said Donnie with a shy smile, noting how Metalhead held a prideful thumbs up for himself.

"Successful!?" Leo snapped in pure disbelief, "Metalhead almost ripped Mikey's face off!"

"Please. I had it all under control." Donnie scoffed back, waving his brother's concerns off.

"And what if you didn't?" The leader questioned back, making Donnie look away guiltily.

A few gentle taps on the mats had the teens lifting their heads once again, to their Sensei deep in thought.

"Donatello has created a powerful tool. It is to our advantage to study an enemy's techniques." Splinter addressed them all, stroking his beard and eyeing the robot coping his children. The bot then looked to him with what he could only perceived as polite interest. "But you must use that tool wisely."

Without warning, Metalhead let off an abrupt warning alarm. He slid a panel on his arm away, revealing a screen with a map on it. As well as a quickly moving red blinking dot.

He then held his arm out, waiting as Donnie whipped in front of him and studied the screen carefully.

"What's wrong with him now?" Leo asked tetchily to the human.

A shocked look passed his mahogany eyes, "Something tripped the security wires I set up." Donnie said while still inspecting the screen, "It's approaching the lair. Fast!" The group gasped aloud, and wasted no time in making for the exit.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The Hamatos kept close to Donatello as he followed the location on his phone to the set off security wire, until they arrived in a rather large part of the sewers, with massive tunnels and multiple passages around them.

The hooded ninja jumped down from one of the small entrances, and checked over the security wire on the floor of the large tunnel system. Pulling a face as he saw that the metal wrapped wire was damaged. Almost entirely snapped in two.

"Do you think it's Foot-bots again?" Leo ponders aloud, coming up short behind his brother and peering at the wire.

"Can't be. They haven't been around in weeks!" Miwa replies while scanning the tunnel. "Wait! Up ahead!"

The others all glanced to where she pointed at a turn in the end of tunnel. Sudden bursts of pink light flashed on the walls as well as the recognisable silhouettes of the Kraang.

The teens began moving in closer, until a familiar scream echoed from the fight infront, stopping the Hamatos instantly. Donnie however, looked puzzled at the other's stunned faces.

"Was that?" Raph started, before shaking his head in denial. "Nah, couldn't be."

Unfortunately for him, he was proven horribly wrong as a huge spider mutant came hurdling round the corner, screaming for his life.

He was about eight foot tall, with a round and circular reddish black body with red striped markings all over him. Six tiny beady red eyes with some more scattered all around, as well as a ginormous mouth with sharp fangs on both his top and bottom jaw. And atop his head, were four long spider legs with mutagenic coloured claws at the end of them.

"Ah! Spider Bytez!" Mikey yelled as the mutant came trudging towards them, his older siblings all pulled free their weapons and sighed at the incoming bug.

"Spider-who?" Donnie asks, staring in astonishment at this new insect mutant.

"Uh, Long story." Miwa groaned, remembering their first encounter with the guy all too well. "Just know, that he's kind of a jerk-"

"Frogs! Scary Girl!" Spider Bytez yelled as he made his way ever closer.

"Scary girl?" Donnie mused to his sister with a side eye. "What did you do to this poor guy?"

Miwa rolled her eyes with gritted teeth, "I threatened to break every bone in his stupid body if he didn't stop calling my brother's freaks, and give us that damn phone!" She yelled the last part, and Donnie made a show to move slightly back with his hands up in surrender.

"Eh, I still say you should've." Raph remarked with a grin.

The arachnid stopped short before them, panting hard and excessively, "You've got to help!" Though his plea was off desperation, the other's couldn't help but frown at the gall of his harsh demand for help, rather then ask for it. "Those foreign triplets are after me!"

"We are not frogs!- Wait. What?" Leo questioned, only to turn with his team and see three disguised Kraang-droids all charging after them.

Spider Bytez didn't wait for them any longer, and threw them all to one side as he made his way through a side passage still screaming in fear.

Lasers shoot above the Hamatos heads, and they ducked to avoid the Kraang, but the three droids paid them no attention, and instead, went straight into the tunnel after the insect mutant.

"They aren't after us?" Miwa pointed out, as they pass by.

"They're heading for the surface!" Leo says quickly, as the others follow suit after him. Only Donnie lingered behind a moment, tapping on his T-phone before also joining them.

Once the team made it to the surface, they realised that they were too late, as the three droids forcefully shoved the rounded mutant into the back of a white van, ignoring his yells as they jumped into the front. "Help! You can't do this to me! I want my phone call! I got rights as a spider! Help! Helpppp!!"

The van screeches away, leaving the Hamatos in it's dust with Spider Bytez' cries still sounding in the distance.

"They're getting away!" Leo turned, thinking his team would be ready to charge after the van. But instead, his face dropped as the other's looked far from urgent.

"Why is that our problem?" Raph shrugged unbotheredly, leaning against a lamp post while Mikey filled Donnie in on their past with Spider Bytez, adding a lot of hand gestures and animated movements as he spoke. "That slobbering bug gives us nothing but trouble!"

"He asked for our help." Leo said as if it were obvious, but that didn't seem to phase the other turtle still.

"You know I'd leave too if we could. But don't you wanna find out why the Kraang want him?" Miwa added almost tauntingly.

"Fine!" The stocky turtle groaned excessively, throwing himself away from the lamppost, "So how are we supposed to catch up-" He was swiftly cut off as the Shellraiser came to a grinding halt behind him.

The older teens stared I'm confusion, before Donnie gleefully took a step forwards.

"I called for backup." He smirked slyly, opening the doors to the Shellraiser and not waiting for an answer before hopping in.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Inside, a very peeved off Leonardo stood beside Metalhead, as the bot drove the Shellraiser. The leader tried his best to ignore the smirks sent his way, and made a show to glare harder at his siblings everytime he heard hushed snickers.

"He drives better then you, Leo." Miwa teased, to which the turtle tightened his jaw, holding back a cranky growl.

Metalhead sent Miwa a thankful chirp, clearly not understanding that her statement was not a compliment for him, but a jab at the bigger turtle beside him.

"Nice thinking, Donnie!" Mikey complimented his brother, who smiled his thanks.

"Hey? When did you teach him how to drive?" Miwa asked absently, joyfully watching as Leo death glared the bot.

"A few weeks before the Technodrome incident." Donnie replied, tapping away on his computer to try and find the van. "Metalhead was the one who rescued Splinter after all."

"Oh yeah!" Miwa snapped her fingers at the memory, "Well, he certainly isn't half bad-" As she said this, Metalhead took a hard right, jolting the teens sideways as he mounted the sidewalk.

"Not well enough!?" Raphael barked back to Donnie, shoving his sister off of him.

Metalhead let out an alerting bleep while signalling forwards with his hand. And as the group looked ahead, they saw the Kraang van quickly approaching their front.

Unfortunately for them, it appeared the Kraang were aware of their fast approach aswell, and after hitting a few buttons on the dashboard, rocket launchers pulled out of the sides of their van and aimed themselves toward the subway car.

"Huh. That's new." Donnie said intrigued, that was until they opened fire on them, and his curiosity changed to fear, "Ah! Evasive maneuvers!"

At his call Metalhead began swerving the truck out of the way as multiple rockets shot passed, exploding against mail boxes and streetlights. The teens inside held on for their lives, though Leo was not as lucky, and ended up kissing the floor.

"Deploy garbage cannon!" Donnie yelled. Watching as both teens on the weapon station suddenly met eyes.

Emerald and amber connected with dagger like glares, and the two began fighting over who would fire.

"Raph! You did it last time!" Miwa snapped as she tried sliding the mutant to the other seat, "Give it up!"

"No way!" He growled back, forcefully shoving her over and off of her seat, before then taking hold of the controls.

He looked through the scanner and locked onto one of the launchers, before firing the cannon right at it and knocking it off the van entirely.

"Hey! Yeah! Garbage beats Kraang rocket!" Mikey whooped, accepting a high five from his human brother. All while Miwa shoved Raphael back with a hard stare, and focused on taking out the other launchers.

"Pull up alongside!" Donnie ordered, and Metalhead complied. Though Leonardo looked hesitant of this plan.

"Now we're talking!" Said Raph excitedly, already making after his brother to the roof.

"Is that the best idea-" Leo began, but both the teens were already on the roof, closing the hatch behind them. "Guys!"

"Well, can't say you didn't try?" Miwa shrugged, refocusing on the van.

Out on the roof, Raph and Donnie grabbed hold of their weapons as the Shellraiser pulled closer to the van.

"This bug better be worth it." Raph huffed as the two jump over.

But as their feet thudded against the roof, the Kraang took notice, and began jostling the van side to side, hoping to knock them off.

Raphael managed to drop low, and stabbed his sai straight through the roof, which kept him in place. Donnie however, tripped over the edge, and only saved himself by forcing his bō in-between the two vehicles, leaving him dangling over the road.

"Um! A little help!?" He cried, staring in shock as the van moved away from the truck, and his staff began to slip free. "Whoa!"

"Gotcha!" His fall was short as Raph grabbed hold of his wrist. But as he began pulling up his brother, the sound of a blaster charging up made both teens look up in fear, as a Kraang pointed right for them.

However, Metalhead steered the Shellraiser closer, allowing Miwa to direct the cannon right at the droid, and launch a trash ball straight for him. Leaving only a pair of metallic feet standing on the van roof.

With the droid gone, both teens abandoned the van and hopped back on board of the Shellraiser, clinging to the roof for dear life as Metalhead shifted a stick beside the wheel, pulling down the razor-toothed crusher attached to the front.

He tried using it to battered the Kraang off the road, but for the most part, they were able to keep upright, and even managed to smack against the truck in the process. But as the two collided, they knocked each other off course, and both vehicles went spiralling in different directions.

"Get me out of here!" Spider Bytez' wobbled yell sounded as the white van spun and crashed straight through an abandoned garage door.

"Watch out!" Leo warned, but Metalhead was unable to swerve in time. They plowed into a parked car, and came to a screeching crash a few feet away.

The teens inside filed out of the truck, coughing at the smoke which flowed from the engine, while Donnie and Raph jumped down from the roof, which they somehow managed to hold on too.

Once the leader did a quick mental check over of his team, he ran to the corner close by, and surveyed the garage ahead. It had only one door, which had been busted down by the van.

"There's no way out of there." Leo assessed confidently, but before he could call his team closer, a loud metallic clanking came from behind him. He let out a harsh breath, and didn't even bother turning round, "Metalhead, stay with the Shellraiser. Before you blow anything else up."

"He stopped the truck, didn't he?" Donnie shot back, gesturing to the small bot beside him. "The Kraang know we're coming. He can help!"

Metalhead gave a thumbs up to the bigger turtle, and decided to activate his weapons to show off his usefulness to the leader. He even popped out his glider wings, and started his rocket feet up. Flying slowing in the air beside his creator, who only held the proudest of smiles for his robotic son.

The others watched silently with stunned faces, whilst Leo resigned to just simply facepalming, "Ugh... Whatever!" He said, gesturing for all to follow after him.

As they approached the garage they dashed in with shouts, ready for the fight to ensue. Yet, only a collective gasp was heard as they looked around the empty space.

"They just... disappeared?" Raph spat out blankly, which soon changed into anger at the fact he didn't get to pound any Kraang-droids. "That's impossible!"

Leo looked around the space, and knew it wasn't that simple. "There must be a secret door. Or a hidden passage somewhere." He then signaled around the room, "Fan out."

As instructed, the team spread out and searched the garage, looking between cars on the racks, and every part of the floor and walls.

As they looked, Mikey found a line of lockers and decided to fling one open, awaiting the Kraang to pop out from inside. Only to be greeted by leftover mechanic clothes, and boots. "Oh, yeah?" He said, closing the door slowly, "Well, how about... now!" He opened it again, only to deflat slightly at the same results. "Well, okay, then. How about-"

"Mikey." Miwa shuffled closer to him with a curious look, "When has that ever worked?"

"Works all the time in movies?" He shrugged back. His sister rolled her eyes and moved on, giving him a chance to glare down the door and point accusingly it's way. "You win this round."

Seeing that the search was leading them nowhere, Donnie called over his bot, "Metalhead, use your scanners to check the structure for any hidden rooms or passageways." At his makers request, Metalhead saluted and bleeped, before flying off into the air and scanning the place with a wide blue light.

As it passed over the others they jumped at the feeling of the light scanning their bodies.

"It tickles!" Mikey laughed, holding his plastron.

"Tickle ray? Real useful upgrade, Donnie." Said Leo, not caring to hide his sarcasm.

"Dude? What is your issue today?" Miwa muttered quietly to her immediate younger brother, not liking how he just roll his eyes at her.

"It happens to be a three-dimensional volumetric scan." Donnie shot back, a hard glare sent to his brother.

At that moment, Metalhead flew down, and chirped at Donnie with a head shake, who glanced down grimly. "But that doesn't make sense? There should be tire marks or a seam in the floor, but the Kraang left no trace at all?" He sighed, and the others looked just as perplexed as he did. "Just some junk and-"

"Ooh!" The group turned hopefully to Mikey in the corner, only to slump over as the youngest mutant stood before a vending machine.

"A super macho burrito?" Mikey said with his mouth watering just at the thought of it, "Whoo, yes! It's the ultimate combination of pizza and burrito- Pizzarito!" He began shaking the machine, praying his prize would fall to the floor, "It's super and macho!" When that failed, he began kicking and stomping his foot against the glass, but still to no avail.

He stared pitifully at the burrito out of his reach, until a look of determination passed his face. "I'm going in!" He dropped to the floor, and without any thought, shoved his hand straight into the slot, failing miserably to grab the food on the top coils.

With crossed arms, Raphael stopped above him judgingly and frowned. "Do you have any idea how long that's been in there?"

"Who cares?" Mikey exclaimed, still wiggling his fingers towards the packet. "Super and macho! Lengua y queso!" When he realised his plan wouldn't work, he tried to pull his arm free, only to find that it wouldn't budge.

"Your arm's stuck, isn't it?" Raph stated, seeing the look of momentary panic on his brother's face.

"Ugh.. Possibly." Said Mikey, embarrassment turning his cheeks red. "Maybe... On purpose."

Raphael exhale tiredly, and grabbed hold of Mikey's shell, forcibly tugging him backwards until his arm popped free. However, as he did so, the front to the vending machine flipped open, revealing a hidden Kraang computer behind it.

"Whoa!" Mikey gasped, his burrito now forgotten. "It's like a vending machine from the future!"

"A Kraang computer?" Donnie corrected him, running passed the turtle to the console with a cheer in his voice. "Mikey, you're a genius!"

"That's how I roll." Mikey said, satisfied with his work.

"Why is it always Mikey who finds the Kraang stuff?" Miwa mused aloud about her light green brother.

"Maybe because he radiates the same level of weirdness." Raph shrugged, earning a smirk from his sister.

"Can that computer tell us where the Kraang went?" Leo asked the resident genius.

"It can," Donnie started, eyeing the controls with a frown, "But I don't have anything to hack it- Oh, Metalhead!"

At his name, the bot trudged happily forwards, standing beside his creator ready to assist. "See if you can access it's database. It should tell us where they disappeared to."

Metalhead confirmed with a bleep, and approached the console, lifting his hand and extending a shiftable portkey into the computer.

"Uh, are you sure plugging Metalhead into unknown Kraang tech is a good idea?" Leo asked uncertainly, already picturing the many ways this could end badly for them.

"Trust me, Leo, the Kraang processor in Metalhead makes him perfectly compatible with their computers." The hooded ninja reassured him with an air of confidence. "What could go wrong?"

As if jinxing his maker, Metalhead began to make a strange sparking noise, malfunctioning as his eyes glowed pink. He let out a screech before the entire console exploded, and all the teens had to duck as bits of vending machine and computer flew at them.

The group managed to get up, coughing, and realized the vending machine was nothing more then a pile of dust now.

"Great, Donnie. Great!" Leo coughed out, "Not only did we lose the Kraang, but Metalhead blew up our only clue as to where they went!"

"Even worse, he blew up my super macho burrito." Mikey whined beside them, trying to salvage the shredded packet on the floor.

Donnie got himself off the floor, trying his best not to let the snide comments from Leo get to him. "There must've been some kind of energy surge." He theorised, kneeling down beside the turtle-bot, who was currently twitching and sparking out. "You okay, little buddy?"

Metalhead peered up at him with blue lit eyes and nodded, trying to give a assuring thumbs up, only to then spark and short circuit. His eyes falshed pink yet again, and his fist rocketed off and chased after Mikey. His other hand, went to his mouth in a 'Oh no' gesture.

"Seems fine to me." Raph said and shrugged contently.

The fist took hold of Mikey's head and rammed him into the wall, before flying up and releasing him. He dropped to the floor and cradled his aching nose, "Can we go home now, please?" He cried.

"What about the Kraang?" Leo pointed out to his little brother.

"What about 'em?" Raph scoffed, folding his arms on his plastron, "Spider Bytez is their problem now."

Leo shook his head, not feeling justified in leaving just yet. "But what did they want with him?"

"We can't exactly find that out now, Leo."

Miwa reminded him, "We don't know where to go from here?"

While the others deliberated amongst themselves, Donnie only focused on his robot, concern etched his features as the short turtle continued to twitch with electric sparks, looking dejectedly down.

Donatello bent down, and attached yet another wire into Metalhead's head, leading it over to his laptop to see if the bot's software had been affected by the surge.

His fingers danced away at the keyboard, whilst he sent worrisome glances towards the robot every now and then, who stood beside the desk like a child that had been told off. "Metalhead's memory core isn't too badly damaged." He spoke, slapping away Mikey's hand from Metalhead's jaw and shooting him a look, "Stop it, Mikey."

He went back to checking over the data, "It seems that the Kraang security algorithms were too complex to decrypt."

"Less science-y, more English-y." Raph remarked, annoyed at the words flowing through one ear slit and out the other.

Donnie continuously slapped the orange-clad turtle's hand away, and explained in simpler terms, "I should be able to retrieve what he downloaded from the Kraang computer. Mikey!"

Mikey poked the bots head and cried out in pain when he short circuited and punched him round the jaw.

"He might take a little time to fix, though." Donnie murmured, forcing the still balled up fist downward.

The ninjas looked to each other, and realised that Metalhead was the only way they were going to find the location. "How long?" Leo inquired.

"Well, in technical terms..." Donnie began fiddling with some wires as he spoke, which made Metalhead extend his arms into the air and let off both his rocket fists. "A while."

The hands flew around in the air for a bit, bouncing off of pipes, walls and even Timothy's tank, until they both redirected themselves towards the group.

"Duck!" Donnie called and all teens hit the deck. All except Mikey, who was unfortunately grabbed from both sides of his head, and slam dunked onto the ground.

Two hours came and went, and the team were still sat around waiting for Donnie to fix Metalhead. But the task was clearly proving difficult like he had predicted.

Occasionally, lasers or eye missiles would shoot passed the lab doors, leading to the teens in the pit having to take cover.

Metalhead's fist suddenly spun out of the lab and past Leo and Miwa sat on the stairs, on a direct course for Raphael. Only, as it approached the turtle beating the daylights out of the training dummy, he spun round himself, and booted it across the room. Where it grabbed the back of Mikey's head.

The red-clad turtle huffed in annoyance, and went back to punching the ragdoll. "We know the Kraang rebuilt T.C.R.I." He gruffed out, addressing the two eldest teens in the room. "What if they got the portal working again?"

"Then Spider Bytez is the least of our problems." Miwa frowned bitterly, fidgeting and retying her ponytail in frustration. "We should worry about what they'll bring through it."

"That's why we need to find out where they went." Leo sighed, bouncing his leg impatiently. Only to have to duck as another round of lasers shot past his and Miwa's heads. "How's it going, Donnie?"

"Not bad!-" Donatello called back, before a ball of blue fire shot out the lab, with Donnie following after. "GAAHH!!" His right leg was covered in smoke, and he was quick to throw himself into the pit, putting it out before it became flames.

He let out a relived sigh, and flipped his welding mask on top of his smoke filled hair. Wincing as Leo stood over him with an unamused frown.

"Okay, Donnie. It's late." Leo said, crossing his arms. "Give it a rest. And we'll just patrol around tonight-"

"I-I've almost got it." Donnie tried his best to reassure the other, "I'm just working out the bugs- Whoa!" They all ducked as another round of eye missiles flew into the room, spitting past them and detonating around the lair.

Setting his mask back over his face, Donnie spun the wrench in his hand, and charged back into the lab, intent on fixing his robot. With more loud explosions sounding after he went back in.

Leo's head followed after the genius with a disapproving expression, and he decided enough was enough. He went into the lab, leaving the other's looking to each other concerned.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

As Leonardo entered the lab, the first thing he spotted was Donnie, tongue poking out his mouth in concentration whilst he screwed something into the side of Metalhead's face. Meanwhile, said robot remained plugged in to the laptop. Handing Donnie screws as they went.

The fern turtle released an exhale, knowing this conversation wasn't going to be easy, and went to stand beside his brother, who hadn't even noticed he'd entered.

"Donnie. You got to shut down his A.I." Leo stated, wasting no time in getting to his point.

"What?!" Donnie spun round in disbelief, throwing his goggles up his head, "Shut down his A.I.? But that would be like turning off his brain!"

Leo looked to the robot, who he swore was watching him with an almost unsure expression. His head snapping to one side as sparks zapped out of his neck. And his eyes, flickering once more to pink. "He's just too dangerous." Leo sighed, feeling guilt building up.

"He is not!" Donnie defended quickly, "He's done nothing but help out since I brought him here. He can help us locate the Kraang, and Spider Bytez!"

"It's not worth the risk, Donnie." Leo said, gesturing to the bot. "Metalhead's become... I don't know, glitchy, since the new A.I. And more so since you plugged him into that Kraang computer."

"What if he gets taken over by the Kraang or something? Are you sure you can trust him?" Leo expected that to be the end of the discussion.

And usually, Donnie would listen and obey the leader's orders, but something just didn't sit right with the genius. "What's your deal with him?"

Leo stared dumbfounded at the other teen, "What?"

Remaining firm, Donnie pressed on, "You've done nothing but put him down all day! When all he's tried to do is help!"

"I just-" The turtle started defensively, before shrugging cluelessly. "I don't think ninjas should rely so much on tech, Don. Especially when they are made with enemy parts. Kraang parts!"

"You said yourself, the A.I made him smarter now." Leo pointed out, "What if the Kraang find a way to turn him against us?"

"He was fine when he was just a lab partner, or a second hand in helping round the place." He added, Metalhead had indeed been useful around the lair, and everyone knew and appreciated that. "But now... He's-"

"He's not just tech, Leo." Donnie corrected, taking a protective stand in front of the robot. "He's not dangerous, and he wouldn't turn on us either... He's part of this team."

"Look. We can talk about this another time. But right now, we need that location, and we can't get it if he's glitching like crazy!" Leo persisted on, before shaking his head sadly, and resting a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Sorry, Donnie. Just for now, shut him down. And get the coordinates. Please."

Donatello went to argue once more, but the leader was having none of it. And simply walked out of the lab before anymore words could be spoken.

As the lab doors closed behind the mutant, Donnie let out a strained exhale. He ran his hands through his hair, chucking his goggles off and to the desk. He turned back to his robot, only to see that he was watching him and most likely, had heard and understood the entire conversation.

Metalhead looked to the screwdriver in his creators hand, then up to his stressed face. Quickly, he let out a scared chirp and shook his head fearfully, not wanting to be powered down.

"It's okay, Buddy. I won't." Donnie calmed him, patting his head with his other hand. The waist tall bot seemed to breath a sigh of relief as he watched the human place the screwdriver down, and grab hold of a thick cable instead. "Let's just... fix you up."

The turtle-bot nodded eagerly, and Donnie placed the cable into Metalhead's neck. He then began tapping away at his laptop, smirking as the bot trudged over to also glance at the screen, having to balance on his tip toes.

Donnie ran a full diagnostic on the robots program and software, and saw the extent of the damage the Kraang computer had caused. "A little reboot, maybe some firmer hardware to compete with the Kraang processor?" Donnie hummed in thought, before nodding at his new plan of action.

"And you'll be all better. Ok?"

The bot agreed with a thumbs up, grateful for the human looking out for him.

"Now, to get Leo off of our case. I'll just extract the location from your hard drive." Donnie activated his decryption app, and waited. But after a few minutes with no code appearing, he glanced over the smaller turtle, who also then stared back at him.

Donatello began tapping his chin in thought, while Metalhead copied him. "Hmm..." Donnie hummed, and the robot cocked his head back at him. "I think we might need more ether cables..." He murmured, before leaving his desk in search of said items.

Metalhead watched him leave and search through some drawers, his blue eyes flickered pink and a alert appeared on the glowing screen beside him. The decryption app on Donnie's laptop began decoding the information in his processor. Revealing the Kraang's location, or more accurately, their 'secret entrances'. It appeared the cables weren't needed after all.

The robot was about to alert that the app had worked. Yet, As his pink eyes scanned over the screen, then back to the human rummaging around in the back of the lab, Metalhead thought...

Metalhead thought about his creator.

This strange human boy who had constructed him in one of his darkest moments.

At the time, he was alone, in a strange place, surrounded by strange people. He wanted something to do, to fend off his free hours, and he chose to make himself a friend.

Metalhead knew alot about his maker, about his past, his goals and dreams, and his struggles. He knew what made him, him.

Within the little robots hardware, many clips he had saved throughout his short life started to play out. Like memories flashing before his eyes.

Some were lagged and glitchy from being either half made, or in the process of having his software fiddled with, but each clip that played, the human always smiled so brightly when he was 'Awake'.

He played the very first clip he had, his very first memory of being 'Alive'. He was in the strange abandoned garage the human called his lab. And there, infront of him, was his creator. Wearing those black clothes with the red foot symbol on it, beaming proudly as the detached robot head blinked at him.

The human cheered, and danced around the small space, not caring how strange he looked, 'It works! The software worked!!' He had cried loudly, 'Your awake!'.

In his joyful outburst, the boy tripped on one of the many wires attached to the robots head, unintentionally turning him off again.

Metalhead saved this memory the second he could.

He remembered that when he next blinked 'Awake' again, the human was once again there, a wide gap-toothed grin on his face as he messed around with the robot's processor. Then, once he was fully 'Awake', the human showed him the body he was currently making for him.

He showed off his tiny hands, and his feet, the half made torso, and shell. Aswell as multiple blueprints displaying an array of weapons he wished to add. 'Your going to do so much help to this world!' He beamed proudly, 'I just know it!'

Metalhead held this memory close.

He also remembered the time the human gave him his 'Name'. He had been talking no-stop about the 'Hamatos' recently, and more specifically, 'Mikey'. He said the mutant turtle had decided to give him a name, after visiting once when he wasn't 'Awake'. And his creator had taken a liking to the idea.

'I think, I'll call you Metalhead.' He smiled, screwing a few bolts back together again on the bots chest. 'What do you think to that?'

This was the first time the robot was able to communicate with his creator. He lifted one of his stiff arms, and put his thumb up. And the human gave a bright grin back.

Metalhead liked that name too.

The human always stood by him, whether he was in parts on the floor, or having one of the 'Siblings' threaten to deactivate him. His maker was proud of him. Of what he'd made, and what he'd accomplished.

And Metalhead... was proud of his human too.

Proud of all his intellectual feats, the way he had overcome every bad thing to be thrown at him, the way he had found himself a new family, and made a better life.

And yet, the only thing Metalhead was causing his human, was grief.

Some of his 'Siblings' did not seem to like his new improvements, the leader in particular held some resentment against his Kraang parts. But he would never turn on them. On his human.

Perhaps... he just had to prove that to them...

The turtle-bots head swirled back to the laptop screen once more, then to his human. And an idea came to mind.

"Ah ha!" Donnie cheered, finishing his rummage in the drawers as he fished out a handful of cables. "Ok." He sighed, turning back to his robot with a smile, "Now this won't hurt a bit- Whoa!"

Donatello was taken aback as a blue eyed Metalhead suddenly appeared right behind him, unattached from the laptop and bleeping at him. "Metalhead?" Donnie tried asking, but the robot leapt forwards quicker then he could react.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The others waiting in the pit, heard a loud crashing sound come from the lab, aswell as Donnie's cut off scream.

Dashing into the room, they expected to see some sort of trouble, only to find Donnie and Metalhead were both nowhere in sight.

"Uh... Where the heck are they?" Miwa questioned as they all scanned over the empty room.

Then, one of the large lockers in the back of the lab began shaking violently. At first, they remained vigilant and slowly started to approach, but Raphael soon rushed forwards to open it when they heard a familiar grunt from inside.

He unlocked the doors and flung them open, and Donnie instantly fell out into a heap at his feet. "Donnie, what were you doing in there?"

Before anyone else could speak, Donnie gasped out a breath, and pointed hurriedly towards where Metalhead was now shuffling not so stealthily towards the exit. "The doors!"

The leader followed his eyeline, and bolted after the robot. But Metalhead was just quick enough to slam the door shut in Leo's face, and... "Locked!" Leo growled as he tried forcing the door. "He locked us in!"

Raphael then approached from beside him, aggressively trying to slide the door, "Open this door, you oversized toaster!"

Realising that Metalhead had left, Leo turnt quickly, and eyed the last exit, "What about the garage door?"

Miwa was already at work, trying to pull the garage shutter doors up. "No good." She frowned, hearing something that sounded like a blowtorch on the other side. "He welded it shut!"

"Donnie, I told you he was dangerous!" Leo reprimanded, "Now he's probably out there trashing the city!"

"Well, I'll fix it!" Donnie said firmly, ignoring Leo's hostile tone. "W-we just got to get out of here-"

"Help! HELP!!" Michelangelo abruptly screamed, banging panickly at the doors to the pit. "Somebody! Killer robot on the loose!!"

Raph grabbed him by the shell and pulled him to his face, "What are you doing? We don't want Splinter to-" He was interrupted by a very ticked off Splinter unlocking the doors.

His ears lay flat in annoyance at the ruckus, and he sent hard looks to all his children. "Do any of you have any idea what time it is?"

"Uh, pizza time?" Mikey smiled sheepishly, hiding behind Raphael.

His suspicions now raised, Splinter eyed the door, before then looking to the five anxious teen before him. "Why was the door locked?"

"Ah, you know-" Leo laughed nervously, elbowing Donnie beside him, who joined in.

"Just messing around!" Donnie grinned.

"Yeah, alls good, Father." Miwa nodded along.

"No reason to worry." Raph reassured.

"Metalhead tried to kill us." Mikey whined quietly, earning a hard slap round the head from Raph.

Splinter narrowed his amber eyes onto his fern green son, knowing he struggled the most with lying to him. "Leonardo?" He asked, hoping for the true answer.

Leonardo stuttered and stumbled over his words, growing sweaty at the very thought of lying to his Father. "T-the truth is... Sensei..."

His Father's face came closer, and closer to him, and his siblings were holding their breaths in horror, knowing their jig was up. "W-we got to meet April at Murakami's! Big... mutant... Sushi problem! We'll be back before dawn!" He all but yelled right into his Sensei's face, unaware his volume was rising which each lie he added. And when he felt his act start to break, he slid past his Father, and shot back, "Don't wait up for us!"

The others smiled shyly at their very confused Sensei, before all shooting past him aswell to join the leader.

Splinter let out an exhale, and shook his head in disbelief. "Teenagers."

Once the Hamatos were on the surface, they rushed over the rooftops, looking for any sign of the turtle-bot, until they were able to come across the Shellraiser. Luckily the engine had not been badly damaged, and the team decided to pile inside.

An impressed chuckle from behind the leader at the wheel caught his attention, though his eyes remained on the road.

"Dang, Leo." Miwa commended. "I can't believe you actually lied to Father."

"Don't remind me..." Said Leonardo sourly, the feeling of guilt already eating him alive.

"So, should we just follow the cries of terror or-?" Raphael asked for clarification.

"Metalhead couldn't have gotten far." Donnie spoke up, "If his tracking device is still active, I can find him..." He began tapping away at his station's computer, "Let's see, hmm. Oh, there! Make a left at the next block!"

The leader did so, and continued on down the road, until the little bot appeared ahead, slipping in-between a broken fence. "There he is!" Leo said, slamming on the breaks.

The group rushed out the truck, and made for the fence, jumping it with ease. Once over, they were stood inside an old construction site, which looked like it hadn't been used in a while. And past a stack of poles and pipes, the turtle-bot was seen disappearing.

"Metalhead, wait!" Donnie called, chasing after him with the others behind. Once they rounded the corner however, they all stopped, and watched as a pink eyed Metalhead walked into a Portable toilet, before closing the door behind himself.

To say the teens were confused was an understatement.

"He...went into..." Raphael trailed off as the group now stood beside the toilet.

"A porta-potty?" Leonardo finished in disgust.

"Maybe he has to change his oil?" Mikey suggests, but was sorely disappointed when Leo opened it up only to find that Metalhead had vanished.

"What? Where did he go?" Miwa questioned, pulling her tantō out and tapping the side of the door.

"Wait! I saw this on a magic show." Mikey interjected excitedly, "There's a secret door down here." He then walked into the portable potty, and stuck his head down the hole. "Hello?- UGH!?"

He pulled away repulsed, slapping a hand over his mouth at the smell and slamming the door closed. "Definitely not a secret door!" He coughed loudly, ignoring the snickers from Raph and Miwa. Before his cheeks puffed up, and his face turned a few shades greener. "I think I'm gonna hurl!"

With no time to waste, Mikey flung open the toilet door and was about to charge straight in to do his business, but Miwa's firm hand pulled his shell back, and he looked up to see that the toilet now had a swirling pink portal inside, one that he almost ran into.

The team gasped, and Mikey hurriedly closed the door.

"What was that?" The leader questioned, stunned.

Donatello decided to take a step forwards and reopened the door. But as he did, a normal porta potty was on the other side. "I don't understand." He murmured, inspecting the sides, and gave it a few shakes and taps. "It... it was just..."

Mikey watched as Donnie struggled to figure it out, and decided to try it again himself.

Only, when he opened it, the portal came back. "Um, ta-da!" Mikey smiled unsurly, gesturing to the green box.

"What?" Donnie asked in shock, closing the door and reopening it, only to find the normal potty, again and again and again. "How did you do that?" He asked, shooting Mikey a bewildered look.

"I just got the touch!" Mikey beamed, shooing Donnie to one side and reopening the portal. "L.T.D. Like a turtle do!"

"Told you. Weirdness attracts weirdness." Raph muttered to Miwa, who couldn't help but silently nod in agreement.

Donnie came closer to the opened portal, and examined it, "It's some kind of dimensional gateway, like the Kraang portal. But smaller, and more conveniently hidden. This must be how they disappeared."

"Through a toilet?" Miwa grimaced, not remembering a toilet back at the garage.

"I guessing there's probably hundreds of these all around the city." Donatello hypothesised.

He put his finger into the portal, and pulled it back out with an observant hum, "Hmm. I wonder if..." He tried again, only this time, he couldn't pull himself free, and the portal quickly dragged his hand inside, then his arm, then the rest of him. "WHOA!! GUYS-" He screamed, but his head quickly disappeared, leaving only a frantically waving hand behind.

"Donnie!" Leo called, grabbing hold of his wrist, but he was soon sucked in aswell leaving the other's staring in silence.

The three remaining teenagers turned to one another and shrugged, before charging in after the others.

Mikey grinned, and cannonballed into the portal, "BOOYA-"

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

"KASHA- AHHHH!!"

One by one, the Hamatos fell out of the air from where a giant portal hung above a circular room. As they dropped down in the centre unnoticed, they all quickly regrouped, and hurried behind a few large generators and screen-like computers around the side, hiding amongst the pipes and cables as Kraang-droids began filing into the room.

From their hidden space, they could see that the circular room had no ceiling, only a strange pinkish haze that seemed to form something like a roof. The floors were the a dark silvery metal, with pink lights flowing through them, which then formed multiple ridges around the edge of the room, creating decks.

The strangest part of this room however, were the multiple floating platforms surrounding the control console in the centre of the room, with even more platforms above them, all leading up high, even past the portal.

As the team scoped out the place, a wiring down noise drew their attention upwards.

"The portal! It's closing!" Donnie whispered in alarm.

"Well. No turning back now." Said Miwa with a tetchy huff.

"So is this Dimension X?" Leo asked the others, the strange pink roof was definitely not normal.

"If it was, we probably wouldn't be able to breathe." Donnie corrected him, "My guess is-"

"Not Dimension X. Got it." Raph interrupted.

"Guys!" Mikey gasped, "I found where they took Spider Bytez!"

The others followed Michelangelo as he points his finger at a few Kraang-droids with blasters on one of the higher platforms, forcing Spider Bytez' to back up into the centre of a floating floor.

"Hey, fellas. Can we talk about this?" The Spider mutant begged, his stubby hands up in a show of surrender. "I know bugs in high places? I could-" He was cut off before his comment could be made, as one of the droids shot a strange tranquilize dart at his forehead.

The dart sat perfectly on his face, and the minute it made contact, Spider Bytez' eyes glossed over, and his face became blank. He no longer put up any sort of fight, and just stared eerily out into the pink void.

Once the mutant was silent, a pink energy field slid up the sides of the platform, surrounding him and keeping him in place. Not that he was putting up much fight.

The teens continued to watch Spider Bytez for a moment, until another familiar voice had them looking away.

"Wait till I get out of here!!"

"Spike?" Raph asked in stunned surprise, spotting the mutated tortoise already on a platform with the energy field up.

He slammed his fists repeatedly against the barrier, clearly not frilled with his capture. "I'm gonna break every tentacle on your pink--Aah!" He too was cut off, as the Kraang shot him with the same device.

"Spike!-" Raph yelled, his sister and brothers had to keep him in place as he instinctively went to run for his former pet.

He could only watch in horror as Slash let out a weak groan, before dropping to his knees, now also staring blankly out of his little cell.

"Uh, Hey, guys?" Miwa says uneasily as she points above them. The teens realise in disbelief that all the platforms above them were actually already filled. All holding mutants, in the same unblinking trance.

Amongst them they could make out many, Spider Bytez and Slash, as well as the Mutant Wasps that Mikey saved them from, Justin, a singular Squirrelanoid, Pigeon Pete, even the Newtralizer and a few others.

"Who's that?" Donnie asked, pointing towards an ape mutant slumped up against his pink energy field. His appearance was almost entirely like that of a regular ape, if not for his longer arms and legs, and slender fingers and toes. He had on cuffs and a matching belt, which appeared like ones you would find in a horror movie, used to strap someone down onto an examination table.

"That's Dr. Rockwell." Leo informed him.

"He doesn't really like us." Raph shrugged, remembering how the monkey had beaten them all to a pulp for trying to help. All except one of them that was, "He likes April though."

Donnie nodded, before then pointing to another unfamiliar mutant, "And that?"

An enormous slender green mutant stood uncomfortably in the small cell. From where the teens were, you could tell that he could quite easily tower over them all in height.

Though he's body seemed to be made of some sort of plant, he had many insect-like traits on him. Such as two small antennae above his huge bulbous beady eyes, and giant pincers on what was probably his hands. His appearance looked similar to that of a praying mantis.

He had many long tendrils attached to his body and back, and even in this passive state, he looked highly dangerous and aggressive. The strangest part Donnie saw however, was that he had a vulnerable spot. His heart was clearly exposed and visible from the centre of his chest.

"That's Snakeweed." Miwa commented bitterly, "He definitely doesn't like us."

Donnie nodded again, knowing better then to ask for further information, "And-"

"Donnie!" Raph snapped, making the other's recoil at the volume and shush him, "Let's just presume that every mutant in this room, doesn't like us!"

"Except Pete." Mikey smiled, pointing out the mutant Pigeon that had delivered them a message from April's father. "He's cool."

"Only you could think Pete was cool." Raph shot back.

"What is this place?" Miwa asked reluctantly.

"It looks like a prison." Donatello said quietly, before letting out a shocked gasp, pointing to one of the furthest cells. "Oh, no! Mr. O'Neil!"

Said bat mutant was slumped forwards in his cell, unaware of his surroundings in his trance like sleep. "We got to get him out of here!" Donnie declared, already climbing round the generators.

The others agreed and followed stealthily, all slowly making their way up the platform cells, until they reached Kirby's. As they made it, they jumped quickly into action, and took down two droids that were standing watch of the bat.

As the Kraang fell, Donnie, Miwa and Mikey rushed forwards to check over April's father, and thankfully found no injuries on the poor man.

Miwa did however, glare darkly at the device that he and all the others seemed to have attached to them. "What are those things on their heads?" She asked her intellectual brother.

"It's a Kraang mind control device!" Donnie stated, a hint of anger in his voice at his girlfriend's poor father's condition. "Just like the one they used on him before..."

"But... why?" She scoffed harshly, "Why are they collecting- Sorry, kidnapping, mutants?"

The hooded ninja could only shake his head sadly, "Wish I knew."

"Guys!"

The three teens moved over to the side of the platform where Raph and Leo were glaring at something below.

As they looked down, they saw Metalhead, glowing pink eyes busy at work on the console. He was tapping away and oblivious to the fact that they were there.

"Metalhead!" Donnie called out, but the robot wasn't within earshot.

"Is he working for the Kraang?" Said Leo, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Dude, I knew something didn't feel right when he grabbed my face!" Mikey stated bluntly, crossing his arms at the traitor.

While all the older siblings immediately went to assuming the bot had turnt on them, Donnie took a minute and assessed the situation. And as he realised what was happening, a beam of pride lit up inside him. "He came here to free the mutants..." He said proudly. "He must of been able to tap into the computer after all, and use their own information against them it seems."

"All along, we thought he was going crazy, but he's here just to save 'em?" Miwa questioned, a guilty expression on her, and her brother's faces too.

"Guys, we got company!" Raphael spoke up, pointing to three Kraang-droids that were now making their way over to Metalhead.

"We got to help him!" Donnie yelled, grabbing his bō and leaping from the platform.

"Donnie, wait!-" Leo began, but he had already made it to the floor, fighting off droids that approached Metalhead while he worked on the console.

The turtle-bot turned to see his human behind him, and let out a startled bleep. His eyes changed back to blue as he deactivated his Kraang processor. But when he saw that Donnie was here to help and not tell him off for locking him in a locker, he joined in with a chipper attitude, and using his free hand, shot down any rouge droids Donnie couldn't get in time.

Unfortunately for him, two Kraang-droids were coming from both his sides, and the bot could only look between them both as they got closer, knowing he wouldn't be able to shoot them in time as he defended his human.

That was until Raph and Miwa jumped down beside him, landing on the droids and rushing forwards with Mikey and Leo on their tail.

With the others now helping, Metalhead wanted to get back to purely focusing on the console, but the Kraang continued to pile in, and he had no choice but to leave the console to fight.

As the droids continued to fall, the Kraang became desperate in their attempts to gain control of the fight. One droid turnt to another next to the pink orb in the middle of the console. "Kraang, release the mutant captives that are controlled by Kraang."

Kraang didn't hesitate in slamming the button on the orb, releasing Snakeweed and Spider Bytez from their prisons. The two mutants leapt down, and joined the Kraang's side, still staring ahead with unfocused eyes.

Spider Bytez moved in further, his four legs atop his head began to uncurl and prepare to strike. "The ones that are the Hamatos, that I call frogs and scary girl, must be… destroyed!" The two mind controlled mutants then rushed forwards and attacked.

"Is it me, or is Spider Bytez a lot less Spider Bytez and a lot more Kraang-y?!" Mikey cried, as the humongous mutant jabbed at him with his legs. One of which struck right between Mikey's feet.

When the spider pulled it back, Michelangelo was holding onto it for dear life, and was unfortunately flung away into one of the computer screens for doing so.

Donnie then attempted to jump the spider, only to get suddenly wrapped up in pink vines. He saw Snakeweed snarling at him, before shaking him around the place like a ragdoll.

Leonardo managed to slice apart the whip as it passed his head, making Donnie flop to the floor behind him.

"Ew!" The brunet whined as the pink fluid leaked from the vines still holding him captive. "You guys could have warned me!"

Miwa smirked, slicing through them and releasing her peeved off brother. "He has vines."

But as the two got up to rejoin the others, they became aware too late, that they were completely cornered.

"Exterminate all mutants." Kraang ordered, and the larger mutants started to move in closer.

"So what do we do, Fearless Leader?" Asked Raph, uncertainly.

"I'm open to suggestions..." Leo retorted back, feeling very much the same.

Metalhead had finished taking down a Kraang-droid when he saw that the others were surrounded. Both the controlled mutants and three Kraang bots with blaster ready, pointing at the siblings, and his human.

The turtle-bot let out an alarmed bleep, and scanned over the mutants, hoping for a solution, and luckily, he found one. He connected together that the devices on the mutants heads were controlled by the button the Kraang in the centre was holding down.

He didn't wait another minute before flying over and knocking down the droid holding the button. He scorched it's head with his rocket foot, before yanking free one of it's arms and using it to control the mutants himself.

He made Spider Bytez and Snakeweed attack themselves, or more specifically, the device against their foreheads. Destroying them and setting themselves free from the Kraang's control.

The three droids looked almost afraid as the two mutants behind them glowered down. "The device that is the control device, is no longer controlling-" The bots sentence died off as his head flew across the room.

Snakeweed then dispatched of the rest of the robots, while Spider Bytez began yelling at the teens yet again. "Frogs! Scary girl! And you, new guy!! Are you getting me out of here, or do I got to do it myself?!"

At that moment, even more droids began filing into the room to contain the situation. But as they circled round the group of mutants and ninja, Metalhead shot them all down from where he was at the console.

Donnie grinned once his robot was finished, who pretended to blow the smoke away from his gun, and pointed to the ceiling. "Metalhead, see if you can open a portal. We're getting out of here."

"Right, all of us!" Leo agreed, gesturing to the platforms. "Mutants too."

Metalhead bleeped gladly, and turnt to the console. He found an overdrive port, and inserted his finger inside it. His eyes going back to pink as he locked his hand in place.

Above them, the cells began to deactivate, freeing the mutants who scratched and ripped their mind control devices off. And the huge portal began wiring to life.

"Metalhead did it!" Donnie cheered, "He opened the portal!"

All around, the jail break commenced. The Kraang-droids on the platforms above were destroyed and thrown over their stations as the mutants fought back, punching, kicking, biting, anything to escape. And soon, they all started to climb their way up the other platforms heading for the portal. The Squirrelanoid, Pigeon Pete, Dr Rockwell and many others all managed to escape rather fast.

While down below, the ninjas fought off the horde of Kraang still charging in, giving the mutants a chance to escape. Once they were out of the way, Spider Bytez, Snakeweed and the Hamatos also made their way up.

At one point, Raphael was taking down two droids at once, slamming their heads together before skewing them clean off their bodies. But as he finished his assault on the robots, he heard the unmistakable sound of a blaster heating up, inches away from his head.

His siblings were all making their way up, completely unaware, and he himself, hadn't even noticed the droid until it was too late.

He turnt with a gasp, preparing himself to try and duck in time, only for the Kraang to suddenly get stomped on as the intimidating form of Slash landed on the floor.

Raphael stared at the other mutant for a moment. He went to speak, to say something to his former pet, his friend, but no words could leave his mouth. Instead, he nodded gratefully to the giant tortoise and smiled.

Slash seemed uncertain, and Raph could see that his eyes didn't hold the same malice and hatred as before. Now, they only held, guilt. And regret.

The larger mutant clearly wanted to speak to his friend aswell, but substituted with a nod back, before climbing his way up the platforms, and into the portal.

"Every spider for himself!" The arachnid mutant hollared, disappearing through the portal.

Metalhead was about to unplug himself from the console, until a round of lasers started to raindown on him, or more specifically the console. He covered his head with a shocked bleep and looked up to see Kraang-droids on the upper floors firing.

"The machine that opened the portal, must close the portal!" One droid ordered, and all the others were quick to follow his lead. The console fizzed for a moment as the turtle-bot removed his hand, closing the portal above.

One of the mutant wasps crashed down to the floor, where Donnie was standing by for his robot, "Metalhead, you got to keep the portal open!"

Metalhead nodded his understanding, and plugged himself back in, before then taking out his lasers and firing back at the Kraang, giving his human time to climb upwards.

"Let's get out of here!" Leo ordered, watching as the others climbed to the top and waited. But as he and Donnie got halfway, they saw that Kirby had been knocked down. And was currently being electrocuted.

Not missing a beat, the two leapt up and smashed away the droids hurting him. Allowing the mutant bat to pick himself up and scurry to the other side of the platform.

He cowarded away from them, holding his wings before his face in fear that they too would harm him. But as he peak under, he saw the two holding their hands in calming gestures, slowly approaching him.

"Mr. O'Neil. Fly out of here, please!" Donnie pleaded with the mutant, pointing to the portal above, "For April. Go! Now!"

Kirby watched him for a moment, as if his words had registered in his feral mind, and spread his wings, taking off through the portal.

"Metalhead, we're leaving!" Leo called down, as he and Donnie made the rest of the way up. And there, all five ninjas stood below the portal, breathing a sigh of relief.

It was then that they noticed Metalhead hadn't moved.

"Come on, you tin can! Move!" Raph yelled out.

But the tiny robot below, looked back up to them, and bleeped out. Not removing his arm from the console.

Mahogany eyes grew wide as they eyed the portal, then the robot responsible for keeping it active. A broken look seeped onto his face, "He... has to keep it open for us."

"But what about him?" The leader asked regretfully, they all watched as he took down the Kraang around him, pointing at the portal with frantic bleeps.

"I don't think we have a choice." Miwa answered back solemnly.

The teens then glanced to the noble turtle-bot sacrificing himself for them, before one by one, taking their leave.

But Donatello stayed behind, his head looking quickly between the portal and the bot, trying to come up with a solution.

A hand rested on his shoulder, but didn't break his concentration. "Don, we gotta go." Miwa said sadly, trying to usher him along.

"I can't leave him here." Donnie shook his head, his mind was in a state of panic at the thought of leaving him behind. So much so, that he couldn't even think straight. "He... I- We can't..."

Miwa felt conflicted, but knew they couldn't stay. She mulled over how to convince her brother to move, they were running out of time, and Metalhead couldn't hold the portal forever. If she felt it appropriate, she would have slapped him to get him moving-

"Wait!" She all but yelled, making Donnie flinch at the volume. "Metalhead! Unattach your fist!"

The robot eyed the girl, then his human, then back to his hand attached at the console. He assessed the situation quickly, and his pink eyes lit up brighter as he came up with his own plan.

He decided that he would disconnect his hand from his arm, but not before setting his palm to open fire in ten seconds.

He looked back to his human, and nodded, pointing frantically at the portal with his free hand. When Donnie still looked unsure, he sent him a thumbs up, which made the genius mentally sigh in relief.

"What's he doing?" Miwa asked confused.

"He's got a plan!" Donnie confirmed with a confident grin, giving a thumbs up back to his robotic son, "We gotta go now though!" Miwa wasted no time in following after her brother through the portal.

Once the two were safe, Metalhead unattached his fist and set it to fire. His blue eyes were sent on the portal, but not before shooting down the droids closet to the console.

He soared upwards to the portal, only just escaping before the console fizzed up from the multiple lasers shooting at it. And the entire room, was overtaken by pink flames.

Across town from the porta-potty, a letterbox shook aggressively, and spat out five teenagers, as well as a robot onto the streets. Before being sucked into itself and imploding.

"Dudes! We made it!" Mikey squealed in excitement, flipping off the floor and pulling all his siblings to their feet.

"And so did all of they..." Miwa pointed at the many muatnts making their way over the rooftops, and taking off into the skies. Including a few of the more feral and dangerous ones.

She shrugged, watching as Kirby flapped away into the city, safe from the Kraang once more. "Eh, I'm sure it'll be fine."

As the group watched the mutants disappear into the city, Raphael took a glance behind him, and saw his former best friend watching from a rooftop in the distance. The giant tortoise lingered a moment more, before also vanishing, leaving Raph with a smirk.

"Metalhead?" Donnie called out, sighing heavily when he saw his robot on the sidewalk.

The little turtle-bot sat himself up, and went to give his human a thumbs up. Only to chirp sadly at his missing hand.

The genius teen smiled sympathetically, and rested a hand on the robots head. "Don't worry, I'll make you a better one."

"Dude, he saved us!" Mikey cheered as he ran over, clutching onto the miniature turtle with a beaming grin and lifted him into the air with some difficulty. "Who has the softest hands! You do!!"

"He saved all of us." Leo added, glancing beside him to see Donnie shooting a knowing, and smug look his way. The leader glanced back reluctantly, and sighs. "You were right, Donnie. I should've trusted you." Metalhead bleeped accusingly from his unconventional embrace. "And you too, Metalhead."

"To be honest..." Donnie began, glancing to the bot trying to swipe at Mikey, not liking the babying treatment. "I programmed him to be intelligent, but I didn't realize just how much he had evolved."

The three eldest teens circled round as Metalhead managed to get Mikey to drop him, making an angry bleeping alert as the turtle backed up with his hands up. The bot then brushed himself off, making himself look presentable before his team.

"You should be proud, Don." Miwa grinned at her brother, before patting him round the back. "That little guy is a life saver."

Donatello smiled back, pride on his face as Metalhead looked to him with a thumbs up, and a happy chirping sound. "I am."
