Beach Blank-Out Blastoise
Last time, our heroes battle Blaine, the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader, and his Magmar for their seventh Gym Badge. July's Nido and Anna's Wag evolved into Nidorina and Poliwhirl and learned two moves to defeat Magmar. During the battle, Seth's Sandslew had learned Earthquake. Jovan's Charizard gave Jovan a victory against Blaine's Magmar.
Ash struggles to get his seventh Gym Badge, he lost his first battle against Blaine and his Magmar. But in a red-hot rematch, Ash's Charizard took on Magmar in a fierce firefight. In a brilliant strategic move, Charizard unleashed Magmar with an aerial Seismic Toss. Could Magmar be defeated?
Thanks to Charizard, Ash finally got the bade he wanted so badly as his friends obtain their Gym Badge as well. With their seventh Gym Badge in hand, our heroes head for the next Gym, but they'll have to hurry to catch the last ferry that is leaving Cinnabar Island.
Everyone was running on the docks to get to last boat that's leaving the island.
"Stop that, boat!" Jovan shouted. "Don't leave without us!"
They ran down the stairs and continue running on the beach. If they don't make it to the ship, they'll have to wait in the afternoon to leave the island.
"Wait up!" Jovan called.
As Ash and Jovan was running ahead of their friends with Pikachu running by Ash's side and Dragonair flying besides them, a Pokémon came running out behind the rock in a state of panic.
"Huh?"
"Wartortle!?"
Ash and the panicked Pokémon crashed into each other. Jovan was quick to stop before Ash and the panicked Pokémon crashed into one another, but that caused to July to crash into her brother to cause to fall flat on his face in the sand.
Slade looks at the Pokémon that bumps into Ash as Brock helps it to stand up. It was a bipedal, indigo reptilian Pokémon similar to a turtle. It has brown eyes, a dark blue streak on each cheek, and two sharp teeth protruding from its upper jaw. It has three clawed fingers and pointed toes. On each side of its head are feather-like ears covered in pale blue fur. A brown shell with a pale yellow underside encases its body. A thick, white rim separates the upper and lower halves of the shell. Poking out of the bottom of the shell is a thick, wavy tail that also has light blue fur.
"Are you all right?" Misty asks it.
"Wartortle is a rare Pokémon." Brock gazes at it.
Seth took out his Poké Dex.
"Wartortle, the Turtle Pokémon. The evolved form of Squirtle. Its long furry tail is a symbol of its age and wisdom."
"It doesn't look smart." Ash puts his Poké Dex away.
"Wartortle War Tortle War!" Wartotle explains to Pikachu and Dragonair in a panic state.
"Pika?" Pikachu tilts his head.
"What is it saying?" Jovan wondered.
Pikachu got an idea. He walks over in between Ash and Jovan then jumps to tap both Poké Balls for Squirtle and Aqua to appear in front of Wartortle.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle greeted it.
"Wartortle Wartortle War!"
"Squirt!?"
"War."
"What are they talking about?"
"Wartortle Wartortle War."
Aqua nods her head once as she and Squirtle took out their sunglasses.
"It's their pair of sunglasses!" Jovan exclaims. "It's been awhile since we saw those."
Once both sunglasses were on, all three turtles jumps into the water and began swimming.
"It looks like trouble." Brock said.
"Let's get a boat and follow them." Ash said.
Jovan transforms into the Black Dragonite as Anna and July called out Seabiscut, Seel and Wag. July jumps into the water and transforms into Gyarados. As their friends got a small boat, they all left Cinnabar Island and began to follow the three Water Pokémon.
"Hey, there's a small island up ahead!" Seth calls down to the others as he was riding Jovan.
"Maybe we're close." Misty said to Brock.
"It looks like a Squirtle Shell." Ash smiled as he stands up. "Full speed ahead!"
Meanwhile, there was a Gyarados Submarine swimming underwater with a metal telescope. "It looks like those twerps found an island." Jessie informs her teammates. James and Meowth was pedaling behind her as Libby, Sam and Justin leans against the wall.
"Can't you do two things at once, Jessie?!" James complains to her.
Everyone reached the island. After Seth and Slade's friends turns back to their human forms and recalled their Pokemon, they went to catch up with their other friends. The three water Pokémon stops running, causing Squirtle and Aqua to gasps.
"Look at all the shells!" Jovan exclaims.
"They're all Squirtle and Wartortle!"
There were many of them on the beach.
"I hope they're okay." Anna said, looking a little worried.
Brock walks up and kneels down next to a Wartortle and leans his head to hear some breathing. "They're fine because they're all sleeping."
"But why?" Jovan wondered.
"Wartortle!" Wartortle cried, pointing.
Sitting on a large flat stone surface was big turtle shell.
"Is that...?!" Jovan gasps as they all took out their Poké Dex.
On the screen was a large, bipedal turtle Pokémon. Its body is blue and is mostly hidden by its tough, brown shell. This shell has a cream-colored underside and a white ridge encircling its arms and separating the upper and lower halves. Two powerful water cannons reside at the top of its shell over its shoulders. Blastoise's head has triangular ears that are black on the inside, small brown eyes, and a cream-colored lower jaw. Its arms are thick, and it has three claws on each hand. Its feet have three claws on the front and one on the back. Poking out of the bottom of its shell is a stubby tail.
"Blastoise, the Shellfish Pokémon. The evolved form of Wartortle. Blastoise's strength lies in its power, rather than its speed. Its shell is like armor and attacks from the hydro cannon on its back are virtually unstoppable."
"Talk about a lucky day." Jovan smiled. "Let's go take a closer look."
"It's either asleep or practicing its Withdraw attack." Brock looks at it.
"I've waited a long time to see you." Ash smiled as he rubs his head against the shell and Jovan pets it.
July and her friends walks up to the two boys and saw Ash knelt down and began sleeping. Jovan turns around and took a step and fell onto Anna.
"Ash? Jovan?" July looks at them
Dragonair watched Squirtle and Aqua got close to Blastoise. Both Water Pokémon fell and tuck away into their shells, snoring.
"The same thing happened to Squirtle and Aqua!" Misty looked surprised.
"Let's get them away from Blastoise and try to wake them up." Anna suggested as she had Jovan in her arms.
"Slade, you drag Ash and I'll get Aqua while Misty gets Squirtle and Anna can carry her sleeping boyfriend." July teased.
"July!" Anna shouted as her face was blushing.
They got their friends away from the Blastoise a few good feet away. After putting their bags Misty watched Brock and Seth to wake up the two sleeping boys.
Brock smacks Ash's face to wake up and Seth was shaking Jovan.
"Come on, Jovan, wake up." Seth said as he continues to shake him.
"It's no good." Brock said as he stops. "They're both out like a light."
"How did they all end up like this?" Anna wondered.
"I bet that Blastoise has something to do with this." Seth shifts his gaze to Blastoise.
"Pikachu, we need an electric shock alarm clock." Misty tells Pikachu.
"Pi." Pikachu nodded. "Pikachu!"
Pikachu's Thunder Shock shocks the two sleeping boys, Aqua, the Squirtle and Wartortle, causing them to yell.
"What was that for?!" Jovan shouted angrily.
"You and Ash dozed off, Jovan." Slade informs him. "Even Squirtle and Aqua right after you two."
"Hm." Jovan folded his arms.
"So what did you hear, Jovan?" Misty asks him
"Right before I fell asleep, I heard a sound from Blastoise. I think it was a singing sound that was ... familiar..." Jovan's eyes went wide in shock. "I hope it's not what I think it's not."
"So you all heard the weird sound too, right?" Ash asks all the turtle Pokémon.
All of them agreed in their language.
"Then let's stay and wake up that Blastoise." Jovan stands up.
"We're with you." July smiled.
"And we can count on you to help out too." Ash kneels down in front of Wartortle.
"Squirtle Squirt!" Aqua agreed.
"Then let the Operation: Wake up begin now!" Ash smiled as he stuck hand out.
Everyone cheered.
The submarine was floating in the water as Team Rocket and Team Neo was spying them from the binoculars.
"I think we found the turtle buffet." Sam said.
"For Pokemon thieves, dis is a fundtasy island." Meowth smiled.
"When we steal the sleeping Blastoise, the bosses is going to give us a huge promotions." Libby snickered.
Brock was sitting down on a wooden chair with pictures on a stand with Seth and Slade standing behind him. Their friends and the turtle Pokémon were all sitting down in half a circle.
"So here's what we know." Seth began. "This island is the kingdom for all turtle Pokémon, who lives under the rule of Blastoise as the Turtle Pokémon King."
Brock removes the picture of the island to reveal another picture of a happy Blastoise as the turtle Pokémon were having fun.
"The king took a swim a few days ago in the ocean. But it didn't come back home." Seth continued.
In the next picture was Blastoise swimming happily.
"Then you all found your king sleeping in the ocean and drag it back to shore. Once the king was back on shore, all of you retreated into your shells and fell asleep.
"When this Wartortle saw what was happening, it swam to mainland where it bumped into us." Seth finished. "That's what happened, right?"
The turtle Pokémon nodded their heads.
"Do you think this is the breeding grounds of the Turtle Pokémon that people has been searching for years?" Misty looks around at the island.
"Just imagine all the Pokémon Breeding if you're right." Brock smiled. He takes out a white lab coat and takes out a stethoscope. The young man walks up to the sleeping Blastoise as everyone follows him. "Here's your first annual checkup." Brock begins to listen.
"Anything?" Jovan asks him.
"Nothing. I don't hear anything."
"Bla."
"What?" Jovan looks over Ash's shoulder.
Blastosie stuck its head out between Ash and Jovan's legs.
"Its starting to wake up!" Anna became startled.
Blastoise's feet and hands stuck out and it stands up in a groggily state.
"Squirtle Squirt!"
"War!"
"Blast!" it yawned.
"I think Blastoise fell asleep too." Jovan said, trying not to cover its eyes with his legs. He slid and lands on the ground with his butt before he went to his friends.
"Squirtle Squirtle Squirt? Squirtle Squirt." Aqua began to speak to it.
"Blastoise Blast Toise Blast. Blastoise Blast Blast."
"What is it saying?" Ash asks as he jumps off Blastoise and lands close to Jovan.
"Blast." Blastoise yawned. Its cannons appeared from the shoulders. The right cannon moved.
"Is something wrong with your cannon?" Jovan asks it.
"Blast." Blastoise nodded.
Then something round pink appeared in the cannon stuck.
"What is that?" Brock wondered.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle exclaims. He hops on to Blastoise's shell and pokes at it. It was soft. The pink thing twitch. "Squirt." he touched it again and this time an ear was sticking out.
"Don't tell me..." Jovan went wide eyed.
"What is it?" Ash asks him.
"Keep it away from us and don't get near it." Anna backs away with July and Seth.
"It's not bad." Ash said.
"It is because it's Jigglypuff!" Jovan exclaims as Squirtle pokes Jigglypuff again and it began to sing.
"No way!" Ash whips his head around.
Everyone started to get drowsy. The Pokémon Trainers fell in the sand and began to fall asleep. As the wild Squirtle and Wartortle fell asleep, Squirtle, Aqua and Blastoise yawned and fell asleep too but the cannons didn't withdraw.
"We'll grab your Pokémon in a snap!"
"Before you wake up from your nap!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth goodnight!"
"Its sleeping like a baby again!" Libby chuckled as she looks through her binoculars.
"So who wants to be a hero?" Jessie asks her team.
"I will!" Meowth volunteered.
Jessie, James, Libby and Sam backs away from them to hide behind the fin.
"Good luck, you two!" Libby smiled.
Justin lets out annoyed sigh. "Really?"
"Why do we always get roped into these things?" Meowth wondered as he and Justin tiptoes silently before stopping to look at the rope.
"Because you opened your big mouth." Justin grumbled. He looks back at their team who was hanging onto the rope.
"We'll support you two from here!" Jessie called.
"Go get'em tiger!"
"Doesn't he mean chicken?" Justin sweat drops.
The two members resume tiptoeing in silence. Justin notices that the twerps and the Turtle Pokémon were sleeping. When they got close, they can both hear the singing.
"What is that?" Meowth wondered.
"I... don't knowWWww..." Justin lets a long yawn and fell backwards with his legs sticking up in the air.
Meowth groans and fell forward on the sand and began to sleep.
"Reel those two in now!" Libby ordered. "Something is wrong with those two."
"Yes ma'am!" Sam ordered as he began to reel their teammates.
James watched his two tired teammates being dragged across the sand and bumps into a couple shells. The water did nothing to wakened up the sleeping Meowth and Justin.
"They're both sleeping like logs." Sam looks at his two sleeping teammates.
"Will you wake up?!" Libby yelled in Justin's ear. There was no response.
"Pft." James threw Meowth behind him a couple feet as Libby and Sam drops Justin inside the submarine. "We need to get that Blastoise."
"We can't use those two since they're sleeping." Sam said.
"And I don't want to get that Blastoise." James added.
"Aren't you forgetting that our sub have a grabber that can grab it?" Libby takes out a blue switch and presses the red button. A black plunger was fired towards the sleeping king. It began to drag Blastoise off the stone rock and onto the sand of the beach and into the water. The submarine closes it mouth to trap Blastoise and Jigglypuff.
"We got it!" Sam cheered.
Back at the beach, Ash opens his eyes and sits up, letting out a yawn. "That was a nice nap. Huh?" He notices Blastoise was missing. "What happened to Blastoise?!"
Everyone started to wake up.
"Will you keep it down, Ash?" Misty rubs her eyes.
"Blastoise is missing!"
"What?!" Jovan gasps.
All of the wild Squirtle and Wartortle began to panic.
"Don't panic, everyone!" Jovan tries to calm them down.
"Everything will be okay!"
"Nair Nair!"
"Be quiet!" Misty yelled, but it failed.
Squirtle and Aqua looks at each other and fired their Water Gun at the Turtle Pokémon. All the turtle Pokémon stops panicking and looks at the two Pokémon standing where Blastoise was.
"What's going on?" Jovan wondered.
"Squirtle Squirtle Squirt Squirtle Squirtle." Squirtle explains to them.
"Squirtle Sqirt Squirt Squirtle!" she exclaims.
"You tell them!" Jovan smiled.
"Squirtle!"
"Wartortle!"
"Squirtle!"
"Wartortle!"
"Squirtle and Aqua are two great leaders." Anna smiled.
"That's because we're both great trainers." Ash folded his arms.
"I think they're impressed by the sunglasses." Seth said.
"Pika Pi!"
"Nair!"
"That's trail!" they all exclaims, noticing the trail.
"Someone must've stolen Blastoise." Seth said.
"It must be Team Rocket and Team Neo!" Jovan exclaims.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle yelled.
Everyone watch Squirtle and Aqua led the wild Squirtle and Wartortle to jump into the water and started swimming.
"You can do it!" Jovan calls out to them.
"Success!" Libby chortled.
Jessie and James were pedaling with one foot as Sam brought them all drinks.
"That was easy as picking up shells at a beach." James smiled.
"That's what happens when something good happens." Libby replied.
"I'll snatch more Pokémon than anyone in the world!"
"But there is a problem." Libby said.
"Who's going to take credit for stealing?" Justin looks at them.
"Let's get this sorted." Sam said, putting his drink down on the tray.
"Remember I was the one who pushed that button to steal Blastoise!" Libby pointed a finger. "I should get credit!"
"No way! We should get credit because Meowth and I put our lives on the line!" Justin exclaims.
"I was the one who came up with the plan!"
"I was the one who spotted their twerps in the first place!" Libby yelled.
"You couldn't catch a cold!" Meowth laughed.
Jessie and James punches Meowth's head.
"You stay out of it!" Jessie growled.
"Pokémon aren't for Pokémon!" James kicks him into the metal wall.
Water began to leak through the walls quickly. Then they heard a sound.
"You all hear that unusual sound, right?" Libby looks at her teammates.
"I thin... we should... take... nap..." Justin yawns as he lays down on the floor.
His four teammates yawned and fell asleep. The submarine began to sink. Outside of the submarine, Squirtle, Aqua led all the turtle Pokémon to the sinking submarine. They began to push it back to the surface.
A few minutes later, Team Rocket and Team Neo were laying in the sand. Seth watches his friends expel the water from their lungs. Both teams slowly open their eyes and quickly notice they were outside of the submarine. They jump a couple feet away from them.
"What kind of trick is this?!" Libby pointed a finger at them.
"We just saved your lives!" Anna exclaims.
"I don't remember asking you to save our slimy lives." Jessie said, turning her head away.
"Thanks for saving us." Sam and James thanked them.
"Really?!" Libby yells at the two boys and smacks them down into the sand "They're our mortal enemies!"
"I kind of feel sorry for that guy." Ash said.
"Who asked you!?" Jessie snaps him. She turns round to see Aqua, Squirtle and the wild Squirtle and Wartortle with their arms spreading out to protect their king.
"Squirtle!" Aqua snapped.
"Let's head back to the ship!" Sam quickly suggested to his team.
"Got it!"
The trainers watched the six villains run to back to the ship and rushes inside.
"Good! And don't come back!" Brock shouted.
"Sorry but we're not finished yet!" James smirks.
"We're just getting started."
"Get shellshocked!" Justin smiles, pushing a red button.
Two wheels extended from underneath the sub and two metal hands extended as well on both sides of the submarine.
"This doesn't look good." Ash said.
"Let's put the metal to the pedal." James smiles evilly.
"Heh." Justin chuckled.
"We'll be taking that Blastoise now!" Libby shouted.
The submarine began charging through, making the Pokémon Trainers to dodge out of the way.
"Squirtle!" Aqua commanded.
All the turtle Pokémon fires Water Gun at the Gyarados sub. It was a direct hit, but it did nothing. They all gasps in shocked.
"They're not going to stop!"
"Of course we won't stop because we're having so much, it's a BLASToise!" Justin said.
"Ha ha ha!" Jessie laughs in a sing song voice.
The hands started spinning. Some of the Squirtle and Wartortle either jumped or dodges the hands. Squirtle and Aqua were both hit and lands in front of the trainers.
"Aqua!" Jovan kneels down to her. "Are you okay?"
"Squirt!" Aqua growled. She saw the Squirtle and Wartortle running from the Gyarados submarine.
"We need to save them somehow!"
"You have to wake up, Blastoise! The Pokémon needs you!" Jovan called.
Blastoise continues to sleep.
"This isn't good." Misty said.
"Pikachu, Squirtle, use your attacks to wake it up." Ash ordered.
"Help them out, Dragonair and Aqua."
The four Pokémon looks at each other and nodded.
"Go!" Jovan ordered.
Aqua and Squirtle fires their Water Gun together. Pikachu used Thunder Shock and Dragonair used Thunderbolt at the same time. The electricity began to circle around the two Water Gun and hits Blastoise.
"Those two Water Guns are carrying the electricity to wake up Blastoise!" Brock exclaims.
As the attacks kept going, Jigglypuff sticks out of the cannon halfway.
"I knew that was Jigglypuff!" Jovan exclaims.
"Puff!" Jigglypuff yelled as it was sent flying into the Gyarados submarine.
"Oh no!" Anna gasps.
Then Blastoise began to wake up. It stuck out its head, arms and legs. The attacks stop as Blastoise saw the Squirtle and Wartortle being chased by the Gyarados submarine. "Blastoise!" it bellowed.
The Squirtle and Wartortle jumps out of the way as Blastoise grabs the mouth to stop it from moving.
"Now that's perfect timing." Jovan smiled. "Team Rocket and Team Neo is stopped dead in their tracks!"
"Blastoise is the bomb!" Brock smiled.
"Let's turn tough guy into turtle soup!" Libby growled.
Blasotise caught the hand to cause Jessie to growl in frustration. "Stoise!" Blastoise punches the arm in half.
"Not bad." Jovan looked impressed.
Squirtle, Aqua and Wartortle lands in front of Blastoise to face the submarine.
"Squirtle!" Aqua yelled.
"War"
"Squirt!"
All of them used Water Gun stop the submarine from moving.
"Blastoise!" it cried, firing powerful jets of water out of its cannon towards the submarine.
The submarine was shot into the air.
"Aqua!" Jovan turns around. "Jigglypuff is still inside there!"
"Squirtle!?"
"Tell me this is a bad dream!" Libby yelled as she to hold onto the handle.
Then Jigglypuff landed on Sam's lap.
"Oh no!" Sam gasps.
Jigglypuff shook itself to wake up and began to sing, causing the villains to fall asleep.
The Gyarados submarine fell into water. Squirtle and Aqua dives underwater.
"Please hurry!" Jovan called out to them.
There was a bright orange flash and a big explosion in the ocean.
"Are those three okay?!" Anna asked worried.
Then Jigglypuff appeared at the surface with Squirtle on his shell as Aqua swims besides him back to the beach.
"Way to go, you two!" Jovan exclaims happily as they ran up to them.
"Squirtle!" Aqua smiled.
Jigglypuff saw them and took a breath.
"Please don't sing!" Jovan pleaded.
But Jigglypuff started to sing, causing everyone to fall asleep. It saw everyone sleeping. "Jigglypuff!" Jigglypuff inflates angrily. It took the cap off the marker and started to draw on everyone.
A few minutes later, they all woke up and saw the scribbles of drawings on their faces and shells.
"Looks like Jigglypuff is really funny." Seth chuckled.
"This isn't funny!" Misty complains. "I look like a cartoon character!"
Squirtle, Aqua, Blastoise, the Squirtle and the Wartortle started laughing.
"A cartoon character? Like that could ever happen!" Ash smiled.
After everyone washes off their drawing, the trainers waved goodbye to the Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise.
And so, after waking Blastoise, our heroes leave the Turtle Island Pokémon in peace. Now Ash and his friends are looking forward to their eighth Gym Badge and their next adventure.
It was a nice sunny afternoon. Meanwhile, Team Rocket and Team Neo hanging on the top of the fin with drawings on their face. They woke up and pointed at each other.
"This is all your fault!"
"I hate humiliation." Sam said.
"I'm sick of losing." Jessie sighed.
"And I'm getting seasick." Meowth added, not feeling too well.
"Looks like Team Rocket is drifting off again."
