One Day Before The Warriors of Hope Went on Vacation
BGM: Overworld (New Super Mario Bros)
"Hup!" Gloria hit a ? Block as two Fire Flowers popped out.
"Whoa!" Alessandra said in surprise as the Fire Flowers landed on the ground.
"Pretty cool, eh?" Gloria smiled, picking one up and absorbing it, proceeding to go into her Darmanitan form.
"Interesting…" Alessandra picked one up. "So this is how you were able to get into your Pokemon forms."
"Pretty much."
"Well… let's see if I can't join the fun~! Let's go with… oh, I dunno… Magmar!"
She clenched her fists as she absorbed it. An orange tiara appeared on her head as it ignited into flames, her eyes turned orange with orange eyeshadow appearing with her lips turning orange as she had some light red blush on her cheeks. Her shirt turned to a fiery blue as charcoal bracelets wrapped around her wrists with charcoal painted on her nails as she donned charcoal leggings with a blue skirt surrounding her waist. She then donned firemen boots after it as fireball earrings appeared on her ears.
"Alriiiiight! I'm a-" Alessandra pulled out a mirror. "...Beautiful as hell fashion icon. What gives?"
"Yeah, apparently it's just me who becomes a humanoid Pokemon. Marnie, Hop and Bede tried it themselves but they didn't turn into one as they hoped for."
"What about your bro?"
"Same thing." Gloria shrugged. "I guess it just makes ye even more of a fashion icon."
"Apparently… I don't even feel like my scalp is burning." She said, feeling the flames on her head but didn't feel a burning sensation on her hands. "Fascinating~ I can definitely see this being part of my ever-expanding wardrobe~"
"Yeah, that's definitely gonnae be part of yer modeling for sure."
"Damn right~!" Alessandra giggled. "By the way, I'm curious."
"Hmm?"
"Are there any vacation spots in the Mushroom Kingdom?"
"Oh, there's tons of options." Gloria said as she started to count on her fingers. "Cheep Cheep Beach, Peach Beach, Cheep Cheep Lagoon, Koopa Beach, Koopa Troopa Beach, Shy Guy Beach, though I don't recommend going to that spot-"
"Why not?"
"Oh, ye know, territorial Shy Guy pirates."
Alessandra sweatdropped. "Pirates are still a thing? Good to know…"
"Where was I… ah right, Cheep Cheep Island, Koopa Cape, Wuhu Island, Water Park, Dolphin Shoals, Piranha Plant Cove, Plack Beach…. Just to name a few."
"Wow!"
"Oh yeah, there's also Delfino, but that place is kindae… overdone."
"How so?"
"From what I understand, as soon after the Mario Bros, Team RWBY and a few others helped bring the Shine Sprites back, tourists from all over came to check the place out."
"Oooh, a tourist trap~!"
"Yeah, Marn and I went there earlier for a date and… well, things weren't as sunshine-y as we hoped."
"Oh come on, Glori. I'm sure it's not that bad."
Gloria chuckled. "Don't say I didntae warn ye." She said, immediately going into her Latias form. "C'mon, hop on."
"Where are we going?"
"To show ye Delfino."
"Oooh! Alright!" Alessandra climbed on her back as Gloria immediately launched away to Delfino.

Meanwhile, with Nemona and Carmine…
BGM: Volcano (Super Mario Bros Wii)
"Ugh, how can you guys stand the heat…?" Carmine groaned, fanning her face as she and Nemona were at Solana Town.
"The heat's probably good for complexion." Nemona said.
"I get that, but why the hell do they have to be around several dozen active volcanoes?" Carmine asked, pointing toward a few volcanoes that currently had lava flowing down them.
"Eh… got me. They're just built different?" Nemona shrugged.
"That's one way to go about it." Carmine mumbled as they wandered around until they reached just outside of town where they saw several pools of lava, one of which had Marnie and Neo chilling in one of them.
"Oh hey! Marnie and Neo~!" Nemona smiled. "Hola, you-"
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Carmine yelled in a panic. "Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!"
"Relax, we're immune." Marnie said. "This is just a really extreme hot tub for us."
Neo nodded, deciding to dunk her whole body into it and then came out perfectly fine. She did a dorky grin with a thumbs up before tilting her head and bopping her ear to get lava out of the other.
"Wow, not a singed hair on your body. ¡Impresionante!" Nemona smiled.
"Let me guess… magic?" Carmine asked.
Both nodded.
"I suppose that makes sense."
"Ooooooor! The lava isn't as hot as they claim!" Nemona said, taking off her shoes.
"What are you-?!"
"Really, Carm~ It's probably not gonna hurt at all." Nemona reassured as she slowly dipped her toe in it, despite Carmine and Marnie's insistence that it'd be a bad idea.
"And in we go~"
Ssssss…
"Mmmm… AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Nemona screamed as she yanked it away and quickly blew the flames off of her toe.
"Aloe?" Carmine handed her some as Nemona lathered it up.
"Told ya…" Marnie said as Neo let out a few giggles.
"...I'll be right back!" Nemona took off running.
Carmine sighed. "She's an idiot… but she's my idiot."

With Arven…
BGM: Neo Bowser City (Mario Kart 7)
"Hmm…" Arven wandered through the streets, looking at a map with Mabosstiff accompanying him, letting out small intimidating growls against some folk who dared to look at them funny, causing them to stiffen and thought twice.
"I was gonna offer the kid a wad of gum…" A Hammer Bro said.
"I was gonna offer him this Nintendo Power magazine." A Lakitu shrugged.
"I was gonna offer him a deal of a lifetime with a brand new car." A Fly Guy said as the two Koopas looked at him. "...What? I'm not a sleazy car salesman like some people!"
"Rrrrgh…" Arven growled. "Finding this place wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for this rain storm!" He said, looking up as rain continued to fall.
"You new around here kid?" A Boomerang Bro asked.
"Yeah…"
"The rain never stops here."
"Oh, so it's perpetual… great…" Arven sighed.
"Woof!" Mabosstiff barked, pointing his body toward a building.
"Buddy, we're not going to make a pit stop for treats. We just need to find-"
Mabosstiff gently bit down on his arm and yanked him toward the building.
"Wah! What's gotten into you! We're not going into-" He looked up. "...Shokudo Fallen Leaves. Oh, we're here!"
Arven smiled, petting him on the head as he released. "Good boy." He said, as Mabosstiff smiled as they both walked in, with Mabosstiff shaking his body to dry himself off.
"Hi, welcome to-... oh!" Eddie exclaimed. "Yo, Cindy! He's here!"
Cinder immediately walked out of the kitchen. "Arven!" She smiled warmly as the two of them embraced. "Glad you could make it… sorry about the perpetual rain storm."
"Eh, not like a little rain could stop us." Arven smiled before cracking his knuckles. "Alright, I'm ready to help out. Let's rock and roll."
Cinder smirked. "Yes. we will."

With Penny…
"Hup! Hmmph… mmmph!"
"What's she doing?" SAPR wondered.
"Climbing up that mushroom." Penny Pollendina said.
"Really? When she could have just trampolined her way up with the other mushrooms like Nagi does?"
She shrugged. "She was determined."
Nagisa's girlfriend reached the bottom of the cap. "There we… oh…" She sweatdropped, realizing she had to climb across before she could get to the top of the mushroom. "...I… did not think this through." She said as she looked down. "Aaaand it's a long way down…"
She took a quick deep breath. "Okay, let's do this." She whispered as she grabbed onto a stem and started to work her way over. "One branch at a time… just nice and-"
Snap!
"...Easy…" Penny whimpered as she looked up with a glint of fear. She slowly moved her arm toward the next branch with a bead of sweat rolling down her cheek. "Easy… easy…"
SNAP!
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She screamed as she fell but then she was immediately grabbed not by Nagisa's sisters, but by Nitori.
"I got ya!" Nitori said as she flew up to the top of the mushroom.
Penny sighed in relief, falling on her knees. "Well… there's my daily heart attack quota for the day…"
Nitori giggled. "You're welcome."
Once her heart was beating normally again, Penny looked over the mushroom. "To think there's a whole forest of these giant things, and y'all just happened to plant yourselves right next to it."
Nitori chuckled. "Well, apparently Pietro wanted some different scenery so the hustling and bustling of Toad Town wouldn't distract him. Which is ironic, given he didn't mind the noise in Mantle."
"Eh, probably wanted to mix things up a bit." Penny said.
"So, you wanna explore over there?"
"Eh, why not." Penny shrugged. "...Though maybe I'll forgo another near death experience."
"Alright, hang on~!"
Back with Nemona…
Nemona came screeching to a halt. "Hehehe~ ¡Mirad!" (Behold!)
She pulled out a Fire Flower.
"¡La flor de fuego!"
"You… honestly think a Fire Flower will make you immune to this?" Marnie asked in amusement.
["Oh, this should be good~!"] Neo snickered.
Carmine said nothing as she wandered off while Nemona smirked.
"Let's see if I can't turn up the heat~!" She smirked, absorbing it in her hands as she proceeded to transform. The green streak in her hair turned fiery red while the rest of her hair turned smokey gray. Her eyes turned charcoal black while her shirt turned red, her arm brace had flames painted on it as her shorts turned orange, her leggings remained black and her shoes had fireball decals on them.
Fire wrapped around Nemona's hands. "Fire, meet liquid fire~ This should be fun!" Nemona grinned as she got into a stance and front flipped into the air before going into a fetal position. "CANNONBAAAALLL~!"
The moment her butt touched the lava…
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She screamed as she launched high into the air like a rocket as the girls looked up.
"Well… I'll give her this. At least she didn't belly flop." Marnie said as Nemona crashed down on the ground, the Fire Flower power up having gone away as part of her pants were on fire, but were immediately extinguished when Carmine came back and casually extinguished her girlfriend with a fire extinguisher.
"Gracias…"
Carmine sighed, putting it down. "Honey, this is one battle that you're not gonna be able to wi-" She paused, putting her hands over her mouth in horror.
Nemona shot back up. "Oho! I am going to WIN this battle!" She said as she marched off.
"Nice going." Marnie deadpanned.
"Me and my big mouth." Carmine groaned.
Meanwhile, at the Rock Candy Mines…
BGM: Rock Candy Mines (New Super Mario Bros U)
"Let's see here…" Cian pulled out a pickaxe and started going at it on at a cave wall.
"Meowsca?" Houdini wondered.
"I feel like I'm about to strike gold here." Cian said, continuing to strike and dig out whatever he could find. A few curious Monty Moles came up from the ground to see what he was doing, along with a Swoop and a curious Wiggler.
As the wall gave way, some crystals came falling out. He gently picked up some rubies, diamonds, crystals, emeralds, sapphires…
"Oooh, I just hit the jackpot." Cian smiled as he picked one up.
"...Eee… ork…"
"Hmm?" Cian turned his head deeper into the cave with Houdini, noticing the other creatures hightailing it out of there. "What's with them?"
"Meeeeeeyork!"
Cian spotted a Fuzzy approaching him.
"Oooh, what's that?" Cian wondered, deciding to scan the Fuzzy out of curiosity.
"No Pokemon within range."
"Ah, right, I forget I'm not in my world right now." He chuckled as more Fuzzies started approaching.
"Meowsca…" Houdini narrowed his eyes.
"What the hell are these things?" Cian wondered as the Fuzzies narrowed their eyes before they started charging. "Whoa!"
Suddenly, a burst of flames shot past Cian and into the Fuzzies. Cian looked up to see Zinnia wearing a welder's mask… and holding a flamethrower as she was roasting them alice, forcing the remaining Fuzzies to retreat.
"Damned parasites…" Zinnia said, pulling her mask up. "You okay?"
"...I have several questions."
"Oh, is it about this? Yeah, one day I got bored and decided to craft something to cure my boredom. It's amazing what you can build when you're bored out of your mind. And heck, add a Fire Flower to it and boom, ya got a homemade flamethrower that never peters out."
Cian sweatdropped. "Why am I not surprised someone like you would build something like this?"
"Eh, it's what I do." Zinnia giggled. "Had the idea to make one after our escapade trying to get Weiss's Rathalos back. Didn't even think about bringing it with me when we went to Paldea. It probably would've helped us in Area Zero."
"I think you would've burned the whole place down."
"Eh, not like a few scorch marks would kill the area." Zinnia shrugged, putting it away. "So, find anything cool?"
"Just a few crystals."
"Ooooh!" Zinnia picked them up. "I'm not much of a diamond kind of gal, but these are so pretty!" She said, pecking her boyfriend on the cheek. "Come on, let's see if we can't get anymore."
"Yeah!"

Back with Gloria and Alessandra…
BGM: Delfino Plaza (Super Mario Sunshine)
"Wow!" Alessandra gushed as they landed near the statue. "This place is gorgeous!"
"Yeah, it sure is." Gloria said. "...By the way, sorry about this." She immediately fired a psychic wave of energy toward her.
"Yagh!" She yelped as her Fire Flower power up went away, putting her back in a casual black tank top and tan shorts. "Was that payback for last time?"
"Nah." Gloria waved it off as she went back to normal. "C'mon, I'll show ye around the place."
"Kay!" Alessandra nodded as they wandered off, heading straight for the fruit market while Koopas, Toads, Hylians, Faunus, huntsmen, Pokemon Trainers, Dreamlanders, and other tourists toured Delfino.
"Goodness, you weren't kidding that it's gotten popular." Alessandra said, noticing an airplane coming in for a landing at the airstrip in the distance.
"It's not just that. Take a look at the prices over here."
Alessandra took a look. "Let's see…"

"Man, the economy really struck gold here." Alessandra said.

"Right? Even Marn was disgusted by the price… and she wanted to enjoy a smoothie with me." Gloria shrugged. "By the way, speakin' of Kalos, I've heard they're going under some remodelin'."
"Oh yeah, they were wanting to make it possible for humans and Pokemon to co-exist in one huge city in Lumiose City. It was already pretty great before but to hear it getting an upgrade-"
"Ye know the place is gonnae be fockin' more expensive than usual."
"True, but it's more worth it than-" Alessandra spotted the ice cream store. "Vanilluxe Chocolate Sundae for fucking… one thousand coins?! Who has that much cash on them?!"
"Yer one to talk."
"Other than me!" Alessandra huffed. "Good grief, this ice cream better be worth it or the smoothies. Because, honestly, I'm sorry to say this, but this is a hell of a way to ruin a date."
"Eh, we made the most of it at the local beaches, though eatin' locally was out of the question. Hell, spendin' the night at Hotel Delfino was fockin' outrageous too."
"Do I even wanna know…?"
"Ten thousand coins a night. Per person in a group."
"...WHAT THE FUCK?!" Alessandra yelled in shock, as some locals turned to look at them before going about their day a few moments later.
"Funny, Marn said the exact same thing. Soooo, we just decided to spend the night at a hotel in Mushroom City because it was much cheaper there after we had enough of the expensive bullshite."
"I don't blame you guys… it's overdone AND fuckin' expensive that would make even the richest person second guess their decisions." Alessandra pinched the bridge of her nose. "Normally I don't swear this hard but… this is so damn… outrageous."
"I don't blame ye." Gloria patted her on the shoulder. "Look on the bright side though. Ye know not to come here if ye wannae have some alone time with Hop~"
"The sad thing is, I can definitely see myself doing a fashion show here. I'll do it, but I'm not budging on the refreshments unless they make it free."
Gloria snickered, wrapping an arm around Alessandra. "Look at this, the richest bestie I know is a cheapskate~"
"Oh shut up." Alessandra snickered, playfully slugging her in the shoulder.
"Oh! That reminds me, you wannae see what else Delfino has to offer?"
"Aside from things that cost your entire soul? Sure, why not." Alessandra walked off with her as they made it to the Pianta Statue. "So, what did Rubes have to say about all this expensive shit?"
"She had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't going crazy. And then showed it off to her team. Yang had some colorful language, Weiss looked like she was about to have a heart attack and Blake… didn't look all that surprised, but was still a bit mortified. Hell, Rubes said it wasntae that bad when they brought Byleth and Dorothea for a family vacation either."
"Don't blame 'em. I get tourism boosts prices but… holy shit, no thank you." Alessandra sighed. "So. What's with the M on this statue?"
"They never got rid of it, but it's a shortcut to where we're goin'."
"Oh cool. Where to?"
"Bianco Hills." Gloria walked forward as the portal pulled her in.
Alessandra's eyes widened, noticing how Gloria was just pulled apart and atomized just like that. "Wh-what the… this place is insane!"
Suddenly, a text message popped up as Alessandra pulled her phone out.
"Ye comin' or what?"
Alessandra sweatdropped as she slowly reached out to it, where her arm started to pull apart. "Waaaaaaaaaaah!"

On the other side…
BGM: Bianco Hills (Super Mario Sunshine)
"Waaaaaaaaaaah!"
Alessandra landed on her butt. "Mmmph! Ow…"
"Glad ye could make it~" Gloria giggled as Alessandra checked herself out.
"Arms, legs, hair, fingers, toes… heart… phew…" Alessandra got up while Gloria laughed. "Hey, I'm still not used to the quirkiness of this world… I'd rather not be atomized and be put back together within seconds."
"Oh relax, that's just only the quirks of Delfino."
"ONLY?!"
"Come on, I'll show ye around the place." Gloria walked off as Alessandra found her footing and looked behind her to see a great view of a particular spot in Delfino.
"Wooow…"
"Hey, ye comin'?"
"Coming!"
Meanwhile, back with Nitori and Penny…
BGM: Beware the Forest's Mushrooms (Super Mario RPG 2023)
"How's it taste?" Nitori asked as they were walking through the forest while observing a Wiggler wandering around with some Amoongus and Foongus.
"Not bad…" Penny responded, eating a Super Mushroom. "Could use a little seasoning, but it's okay as long as you don't look it in the eyes."
Nitori chuckled. "Well, it could be worse." She said, glancing to the side to see burnt remains of a Poison Mushroom and a Rotten Mushroom that Penny's Flareon torched.
"True." Penny nodded as she looked up. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that these mushrooms are freakin' skyscrapers."
"You'd be surprised that they can be taller than that." Nitori said.
Penny sweatdropped. "I'd believe it…"
The two of them soon made their way into a clearing that had a big lake that had Surskit skating around the lake without a care in the world while some Cheep Cheeps and Bloopers swam around.
"So this is the lake I've been hearing about… I've been wanting to find this spot but never could." Nitori said.
"The water manipulating kappa couldn't find a lake?" Penny teased, calling out her Vaporeon.
Nitori snickered. "Yeah, kinda funny…"
The two of them dipped their feet in the water and sat down.
"So… how are you and Nagi holding up?" Nitori asked.
"Oh, we're doing well. Taking it easy one step at a time." Penny said.
"That's good." Nitori smiled, masking her sadness but was still happy for them. "Oh, that reminds me."
"Hmm?"
Nitori reached into her bag and pulled out a cooler, then pulled out two ice creams. "Ta-dah~!"
"You were luggin' that around?"
"You'd be surprised what I haul in my bag." She said, handing her one as Penny took a bite.
"...Oh. So this is that fabled Sea Salt Ice Cream I've heard so much about."
Nitori giggled. "Isn't it great?"
"A bit too salty for my tastes, honestly." Penny said. "Buuuut I've had worse."
Nitori chuckled. "Fair enough."
"By the way, from what Kotoko had told us about, she found this supposedly great place to go to on vacation."
"Really?"
"Yeah, but she's being secretive. No idea where it's gonna be, but it should be fun."
"Right."
"...You wanna come?"
Nitori gasped, her eyes sparkling. "Really?!"
"I mean, if you want to… you don't have to-"
"I want to! It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun!"
"Yeah, it should."
"I knew it… I knew I made the right call!"
Penny looked at her curiously. "Hmm? What is it?"
Nitori smiled. "My best friend."
Penny's eyes widened in surprise. "You… you think of me like-...?"
"Mhm!"
Penny's surprise turned into a smile. "Honestly… I… I don't think I ever had a best friend before outside of like… my sister. Like, yeah, Nemona, Arven, Aless and Cian are really good friends-"
"Well, now you got another~" Nitori smiled. "Not to mention Futaba."
Penny smiled. "Yeah…"
Nitori giggled, leaning into her shoulder as Penny lightly leaned into her head as Penny finished her ice cream. "...Hmm? What does "WINNER" mean?"
"Honestly, nobody knows… and nobody bothers asking."
Penny shrugged, putting it away. "Well… guess we're both winners in this moment."
Back at Delfino…
BGM: Gelato Beach (Super Mario Sunshine)
"Whooooooooa-hahahaha!" Aless laughed as she was launched into the air by a friendly Cataquack and landed on the sand gracefully. "Okay, I can see why you two had a lot of fun here."
"Told ye we tried to make the most of it." Gloria giggled. "Though, the smoothie shack isn't much better here compared to the plaza."
"Honestly, I'm not surprised." Alessandra said as she spotted a group of huntsman walking away with smoothies. "Y'all got robbed. You could have better smoothies somewhere else."
"Oh, let them enjoy their highway robbery."
Alessandra chuckled. "Yeah… oh, what's that over there?" She pointed toward Pinna Park.
"That'd be Pinna Park."
"Ooooh, a theme park in Delfino~! …Wait. Delfino." She turned her gaze to Gloria in dread. "How bad is it?"
"Five hundred coins-"
"Ew… well, it could be wor-"
"Per person."
"Fucking hell…" Alessandra facepalmed. "Is it per group or per person in a group?"
"The latter."
"Oh for Arceus's…!" Alessandra groaned. "The rides better be worth it."
"Well… there's a water park, there's a merry-go-round that has some sort of thing to it that takes ye to an alternate dimension of some sort, there's a little kiddie ride with clams, there's some rotating ships, a rollercoaster… but that's about it."
"Five hundred coins… for all of that? Is there even a food court?"
"No, but there's cotton candy there. Though by that point, Marn had enough and decided to sneak in, steal some cotton candy when no one was looking and we just sat by the beach and ate it."
"You just let her do it? …Oh wait, you love the "bad girls"." Alessandra teased, causing Gloria to snicker.
"Eh, she's part of the Koopa Troop. I wasn'tae gonnae stop her." Gloria shrugged.
"...How was it, by the way?"
"Stale. Apparently that kind of cotton candy's been sittin' around for about three days."
"Gross…"
"Yeah, we both gave up on this place after that. We tried the hot spring in Pianta Village but that was a no go either."
"Oh? What's up with the hot spring?"

"...There is water… coming out of the nose…" Alessandra said in disgust.
"Huh, the hot spring is more vacant than the last time we were here."
"Oh?"
"Giant Chain Chomp was bathin' in here."
"...Chain Chomp… you mean those wrecking balls with teeth that I stumbled upon at Lightning Bug's home?"
"Yup. Though I think that Chomp belongs to Jinx…"
Alessandra sweatdropped. "And they get bigger than the one I ran into?"
"Mhm."
Alessandra looked at the hot spring, imagining a giant wrecking ball relaxing in the hot tub. "...Glori."
"Yeah?"
"Delfino sucks."
"Oh, it's not so bad if ye can overlook the shitty prices on everythin'."
"...So. A hotel in Toad Town, you say?"
