(A.N. *sighs* It has been a long time, hasn't it? Life has been much busy for me these past years, and I hadn't been much typing down stories since then. After everything that's been going on with my life, with real life complications such as work, I had decided to dust off and get to doing what I had missed doing all those years ago. So here's the next chapter of this story, as my dedication to BeastlyBat93, or RandallBeast19, former writer who wrote his fanfic "Misplacement" but then deleted it years ago and leaving the site, leaving me OC Raymond Dragonfang as a memory. I'll miss you, my friend.)

Chapter 11

How Spyro Met Raymond

It was nighttime at the Dragon Temple. The Straw Hat Pirates were asleep. Raymond had been with Spyro, as Spyro laid on his lap, being petted by him.

"I'm glad to be home after a while," Raymond said. "I'm glad to have you as well, dad."

"Me too, Raymond," Spyro said with a warm smile. "A lot has happened, with my girl Cynder, my brother Sparx, how I always thought about Ignitus, and most recently, you."

"Hahahaha. I can only imagine. I still remember what it was like, the day we met, the adventures we had, and my new home here."

Spyro sighed. "Yeah. It seemed only yesterday, when I came to that strange portal..."

Years ago...

Spyro walked down the forest with Sparx joining him. It had been two nights since he had saved Cynder.

"Well, what a night to go for a stroll," Sparx said, "right before the monsters jump for meat."

"You had heard enough scary stories when I was at our parents' place," Spyro said. "That last story had me up all night with fear."

"Well, can you blame my dad? He knew how to cook up a good story."

Spyro just huffed and walked, when he heard a faint sound. "What's that?" He wondered. He went walking into the woods, across the river, and nearby, he saw a strange spiraling aura.

Sparx flew in as he examined the aura. "What do you think this is? Looks pretty colorful with swirls," he said.

"I'm not sure," Spyro said, as he approached the aura. "I think it must be a portal to somewhere."

Little did he know how right he was. As soon as Spyro reached his paw at the aura, it suddenly pulled him in, as he yelled out.

"Spyro!" Sparx cried as he flew and grabbed Spyro's tail. He tried to pull, but no luck.

The portal pulled Spyro and Sparx in. They spiraled around as they scream a lot. All the spinning could've made Spyro feel sick to his stomach. Then everything flashed bright, as Spyro blacked out.

"Spyro... Spyro, you okay? Hey, answer me!" A voice called out.

Spyro moaned as his eyes flutter open, his vision a bit blurry, but then he saw Sparx in front of his face. Then he got up. "Sparx, what happened? Where are we?"

"I don't know, but I don't think we're in the Dragon Realms anymore."

Spyro looked down at an unfamiliar ground as soon as he stood up. He turned his head, when strange sounds were heard. He stepped ahead, and right before his eyes, he saw an unfamiliar city, with humans and vehicles. What seemed obvious is that there are no dragons around, just him and Sparx in the night.

"Sparx? We seemed to have entered a different world," Spyro said.

"I figured much," said Sparx. "How do we get back home?"

"Let's not stand around to find out. Come on!"

But the city is filled with people, as it would be easy for Spyro and Sparx to be seen. They would try to hide behind a few things, from a dumpster to under a parked truck's trailer, and staying out of the street lamps' light. He went walking down the streets, when he came across a young boy walking down the street, his head hanging down. He had brown hair, pink eyes, and wears purple clothing. He also wears an aviator's cap. He was making his way down the alley, when a group of bullies appeared out of nowhere and apprehended him.

"Hey, let me go!" The boy cried.

"Look at the loser right here," one bully said.

"Yeah, I think he needs a good beating right here," another bully laughed.

"No, not yet," the third one said. "First we push him around, then we do the beating!"

"Ho, ho, good idea!" The fourth bully said.

Then the bullies started pushing the boy around, back and forth, as one punched him the stomach, as he yelled out, and the bullies laughed. Spyro could not believe what he saw. He fell determined, not wanting to let it slide. "I have to help him," he said.

"What? Are you insane?" Sparx gasped.

Spyro charged in as the bullies kept hitting and pushing the poor boy, and then he tackled one bully. The other bullies stop as soon as they saw him.

"Hey, isn't that...?!" The second bully yelped.

"No, that can't be a dragon! It's probably a dog wearing a costume!" The third bully said.

"Who cares? Let's just beat up that animal for getting in our way!" The first bully said.

Spyro didn't like that, but he still looked forward to a fight. He narrows his eyes, and then he kicked and tail whipped the bullies as they yell out. One bully charged at him, but he jumped up and grabbed his shirt with his claws, as he pulled him down to the ground. He even scratched the fourth bully's shorts, as they fell down, exposing his underwear.

"Hey, those claws are sharp!" The fourth bully cried.

The bullies tried to hit him, but Spyro jumped on a dumpster and breathed fire at them, as the fire barely hit their heads, their hair smoking. Now the bullies fell terrified at what they realized.

"Did it breathe fire? But that means...! DRAGON!" The first bully screamed.

The bullies screamed and ran off. Spyro huffed as smoke puffed from his nostrils, and he turned to the boy, who was shocked at watching the fight.

"Whoa..." the boy said. "That was quite a fight. You saved me."

"Well, yeah, I had to," Spyro said, as he jumped off the dumpster and approached him.

The boy was surprised. "I didn't know you can talk."

"I'm not from around here. Who are you?"

"I don't have a name, but some people call me Raymond. Do you have a name?"

"...I'm Spyro."

"Spyro? That's a cool name."

"Yeah?" Spyro smiled. "Your name's good too."

Sparx flew in, as Raymond was surprised. "Oh, really? Everyone has a good name, am I wrong?" He said.

"A fairy?" Raymond asked.

Sparx fell offended. "Hey, hey, watch it! I'm not a fairy, I'm a dragonfly. Alright?"

"Easy, Sparx," said Spyro. "That's Sparx the Dragonfly. He's been with me all my life."

"I see. A dragon and a dragonfly."

"Yeah. So may I ask, where are we?"

"This is the human world. No dragons ever live here. You're the first one I met."

"I figured I'm the only one here, since I don't see any dragons. But you said it's the human world, right?"

"Yeah. Buildings, vehicles, all sorts of things. How did you get here?"

Spyro explained to Raymond about the portal.

"I see," Raymond pondered. "So a portal brought you here. That's odd."

"I wish I knew how to get home, if there's anything to get me back to the Dragon Realms."

"I don't think this guy has any knowledge of magic portals," Sparx said. "We should be heading out."

"Out of the open where we're likely to be spotted, Sparx? I don't know how we'll get out of this."

Raymond looked around and saw a dwarf blue car, and he grinned. "Maybe we can take the car," he said.

Spyro looked at it. "That thing over there?"

"That's what we call it. People use them to go places."

"Oh, famous lesson here," Sparx said, as Raymond approached the car.

Raymond opened the door, and the key was seen in the ignition.

"Hold it, we're not just gonna use it, are we?" Sparx asked.

"This car's been abandoned for some time," Raymond said. "I often see it from a window at an orphanage."

"Orphanage? You mean... you don't have a family?" Spyro asked sadly.

"No," Raymond said. "My parents died a long time ago when I was a baby. I lived in the orphanage, but I was always picked on because I'm isolated from the outside world, and I don't go out often until night."

"Why not? The weather feels warm, and those clothes you're wearing, don't you feel hot?"

"Sometimes, but I have a reason. I was born with albinism, meaning I'm sensitive to light and sun. I'm an albino."

"Oh, how unfortunate," Sparx said. He flew around Raymond. "I think a little dragonfly magic can fix that. All I had to do is sing a little song, sprinkle some fairy dust on you and..."

"Sparx, cut it out," Spyro said, stopping Sparx. "If Raymond can help us, then that's no problem."

Spyro looked inside the car and hopped on the driver's seat.

"Hold on, Spyro, you don't know how this thing works," Sparx said.

"Well, it is a machine on wheels. I think Raymond can teach me."

"Oh! Famous suggestion!"

"Me?" Raymond asked. "I don't know, there are laws about driving."

"But maybe you can tell me how to... d-drive it," Spyro said, feeling awkward.

Raymond looked at Spyro, and then he nodded. "Alright, Spyro." He went around the other side of the car and jumped in. "Alright, you see that key there? You turn it to start the engine."

Spyro looked at the key, as he reached his paw in and turned it, as the engined revved up and started running.

"That's it!" Raymond said. "I'm amazed it's still running after years of abandonment!"

"How strange," Sparx said.

"I see. Now what do I do?" Spyro asked.

"There's a long pedal that hits the gas," Raymond said, pointing at the pedals. "This square one applies the brakes." He pointed at a stick. "And this stick changes gears of the car, to parking, drive, neutral, or reverse. And that steering wheel, it is used to turn left or right."

"Uh, okay..." He looked at the pedals, moved the stick to drive without knowing, and tried reaching his right leg out toward the gas pedal. "Nice and easy..."

Spyro pushed his foot on the pedal, and he screamed when the car went full speed and down the empty road.

"Spyro, hit the brakes! The brakes!" Raymond cried.

"Where are they again!?" Spyro cried as the car hit a trash can down, swaying left and right from turning the wheel unintentionally. He scrambled his feet as his left foot pushed the brake pedal, stopping the car, and then his head hit the steering wheel. "Ow!" He rubbed his head.

Sparx flew up, rubbing his head from hitting the seat. "Okay, you can drive a mine cart, but you couldn't drive this car," he said.

Raymond moaned as he rubbed his head from hitting the glove compartment. "Okay, I think we need to work this out a little slowly," he said. "Try to push the pedal gently."

Spyro nodded and gently pushed the pedal, and the car moved slowly but surely. "Oh, we're going. No pressure."

"Well, that's a start," Sparx said. He looked around. "Those cars you mentioned, they are bigger than the one we have. Why is this one small?"

"I heard it once belonged to a man with dwarfism, who built this years ago," Raymond said. "They call it a dwarf car."

"Well, it is good enough for a small dragon like me," Spyro said with a chuckle.

But just then, the three heard noises, and Spyro peeked from the window to see his enemies out of nowhere: the Apes. The apes had jump out of the shadows and screech at him.

"Whoa, what are they?!" Raymond cried.

"Apes!" Spyro said. "How did they get here too?!"

"Maybe from the same portal that brought you here," Sparx said.

The ape leader pointed at Spyro. "Get that purple dragon!"

Without thinking, Spyro hit his foot on the gas pedal, and the car speeded off as they screamed. The apes chase them down the road, as Spyro steered the wheel around. One ape jumped on the passenger side of the car, as Raymond screamed.

"Ape on the car! Not good!" Sparx cried.

Spyro steered the wheel left and right as the car swayed, as he tried to shake the ape off. His tail inadvertently opened the driver window, as the ape jumped and landed on the driver side of the car, reaching his claw in to try and grab him.

"Spyro, watch out!" Sparx cried.

Spyro quickly breathed fire on the ape, as the ape fell onto the road. He kept on driving, as the apes chase him more and hop on the car. He then scowled, seeing that enough is enough. He jerked the wheel to the side, as the car swiftly turned 180 degrees, as the apes fell off from losing their grip. He turned the car around, as he breathed fire on the apes, before speeding off, out of the city and into the highway, leaving the apes defeated.

As Spyro drove out into the night, a figure was watching from a hill. It was an ape with an eye as a shining green jewel, wearing armor with a horned helmet. He scowled as he said, "That little purple dragon will soon be mine."
