November
Taman looks up suddenly and takes note of who else is in the common room.
"Hey," he says. "We're the oldest people here."
Satlynn glances around boredly. Indeed, it looks like all of the sixth and seventh years have gone to bed.
"Yeah," she says, "so?"
"So we should do something," Taman says, and Satlynn watches him glance over at Victoria Edger. She exchanges a skeptical look with Griffin.
"Well...Okay. What do you want to do?" Satlynn asks, amused that Taman seems to be in an uncharacteristically rebellious mood.
"I dunno. Spin the bottle?" he says, fiddling with his empty soda bottle. Satlynn snorts loudly.
"What?" Taman snaps, looking a little embarrassed.
"It's just..." Satlynn says, glancing at Griffin and pressing her lips together to keep from laughing.
"It's just so obvious why you want to do that. Everyone would know," Griffin says, motioning his head towards Victoria.
"Plus, we're not twelve," Satlynn agrees.
"Well, you never know, Satlynn. This could be good for you," Taman says suggestively.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Satlynn snaps back.
"You could finally find a man and stop whining about not having one."
"Oh please! I don't whine! Even if I did spin the stupid bottle, I wouldn't find a man from it. Look at all my fantastic options: You guys, Silko, and Finstral. Yeah, so tempting," Satlynn says sarcastically.
"Excuse me!" Taman says. "What, exactly, is the drawback to me?"
"Oh, my god," Satlynn rolls her eyes. "Taman, do you feel a spark, here?" she asks, pointing between both of them.
"Absolutely not."
"Well, there's your answer!" She says exasperatedly.
"EVERYONE! I'D LIKE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!" Taman addresses the room suddenly.
Victoria Edger and her roommates, Louisa Korsdahl and Feron Helinski, look up from their board game curiously. Chester Silko and Dewey Finstral cease their epic discussion of vampires and skeptically look at Taman. Penny pretends not to notice, but Satlynn can tell she's listening.
"I've decided that since there are no sixth and seventh years present, we're going to use this time to play spin the bottle," Taman announces. "And, as the only prefect present, I am enforcing a rule that everyone must participate," he adds, glancing nervously over at Victoria, who giggles excitedly with her fourth-year friends. Satlynn sighs exasperatedly and looks over at Griffin.
"What do you think? Stay here and watch him make an ass of himself or go to bed?" she asks, inclining her head towards Taman.
"Oh, I wouldn't miss this," Griffin says, looking much more excited than Satlynn feels. He casts a glance over to the fourth years and Satlynn sighs as she realizes he probably wouldn't mind making out with one of them, either. It's not fair that Griffin and Taman get three pretty girls to choose from and Satlynn gets fucking Chester and fucking Dewey Finstral, who is an acne-riddled fourth-year with absolutely no sense of style.
"Okay, I guess I'll stay, too," Satlynn resigns herself. Who knows. Maybe she'll make out with a girl and end up a lesbian.
"Prett, you staying to play?" Chester sidles over to Penny to inquire. She looks at him disdainfully.
"What do you think, Silko?" she snaps.
"Oh, that's right. You're in love with Sirius," Chester says mockingly. Penny just looks at him like he's something she found in her shower drain.
"You gonna marry him, then?" Chester asks, flattening his light brown hair against his ear.
"No," Penny snaps, "but I don't need you annoying me, either."
"No?" Chester repeats, sounding surprised. "So, you wanna stay, then? You never know what the bottle will decide." He wiggles his eyebrows at her suggestively.
"Fuck you, Silko," Penny says as she slams her book shut and starts striding away from him.
"You know you want to!" Chester says with a smirk.
"In your dreams!" Penny calls as she starts up the staircase to the dorms.
"She'll come 'round," Chester mutters to Dewey Finstral as he gazes after her.
"Penny won't date you," Satlynn scoffs. Chester is delusional.
"How would you know, LaRue?" Chester snaps. He's wearing a red button-down tee-shirt that brings out his tanned skin tone. How is he tan in November?
"First of all, she only dates cool people. And second, she wants to seem like she's too cool for commitment, but I live with her; I know that despite what she says, she's obsessed with her boyfriend. You're wasting your time," Satlynn says casually as she flips her hair over her shoulder.
"Are you saying I'm not a cool person?" Chester asks heatedly.
"OKAY! Everyone assemble! Circle up by the fire!" Taman says, and his voice cracks with nervousness.
If Satlynn rolls her eyes any harder, she'll give herself a headache.
"Just stop bothering her, Silko," Satlynn snaps to Chester as she obediently walks over to the fire and takes a seat on the floor with a plushy green pillow in her lap.
"Why are you defending her? You aren't even friends with her anymore," Chester pesters her as he takes a seat next to her. Satlynn looks at him in surprise.
"How do you know that?" she asks accusingly. Has he been spying on her, or something? Chester rolls his eyes.
"We have all the same classes, LaRue. It was hard not to notice when you and Prett stopped sitting next to each other, even though that's what you'd been doing for, like, three years," he says.
"Oh," Satlynn says, and she glances at him out of the corner of her eye; maybe… this whole kissing game will work out in her favor. Not that she's thinking about that. She's not. She has no interest in kissing Silko.
Or does she? She sneaks another look at him. He's kind of cute, she decides. He's very tan; he looks like he could be in an eighties movie. His hair is kind of long and straight, and his chin is very pointy. Perhaps she wouldn't mind… she really hasn't made out with anyone since Parker, and that was almost a year ago now. If anything, it could be fun; it doesn't have to mean anything. Why is she getting so worked up? The game hasn't even started and she's already convinced she'll end up with Silko. She could just as easily end up with Taman. She shivers disgustedly at the thought. Not that Taman isn't great, but...it's just too weird.
"What?" Silko demands, and Satlynn realizes she's been staring at him.
"Sorry. Just - zoning out," Satlynn says, her voice strangely high. Jesus, she needs to get a grip; it's just Silko. They've had every class together since first year! She's seen him pick his nose. And yet…
Maybe she's just flattered that he noticed her. Or, at least, he noticed that she and Penny weren't on speaking terms. And Satlynn's never really noticed Silko; does that mean that Satlynn's cool? Is she popular? Do other people notice her, but she doesn't notice them? This has never happened to her before. She turns to Griffin, who's taken a seat beside her with his back to the fire.
"Am I cool?!" she demands suddenly. Griffin eyes her warily.
"Is now the time?" he asks, sounding exhausted.
"Yes."
"Sure. Very cool," Griffin says boredly as he watches Louisa, Feron, and Victoria sit down across from him. They're all giggling incessantly.
"I'm serious, Griffin! Am I popular?" Satlynn asks.
"This question feels like a trap."
Satlynn lets out a frustrated breath and casts her eyes timidly over to Chester again. He's making funny faces and entertaining the fourth-year girls, which Satlynn suddenly finds very annoying.
"Okay," Taman says, wringing his hands anxiously. "So, basically, this bottle is fate. When it's your turn to spin, you have to kiss whoever it lands on. No exceptions, and no magic interference."
"Why don't we make it interesting? When it's your turn to spin, you and the person it lands on get to do seven minutes in heaven behind the fireplace," Chester says, winking at the fourth-year girls. Victoria bites her lip flirtatiously, and Taman looks livid. Oh, God. The last thing Satlynn's self-esteem needs is to watch a girl - who's younger than she is - get fought over by two lame-ass boys.
"That way, we can keep things private - you can choose to go further than kiss, or you can do nothing. Either way, no one will know. Also, we're not first-years. We can do something more exciting than spin the fucking bottle," Chester continues, flipping his hair confidently. Taman purses his lips, but the fourth-year girls' eyes light up at Chester's suggestion, so Taman relents.
"Fine. Seven minutes in heaven, it is," he says resignedly.
"Alright, wands in the middle, everyone. No meddling," Chester instructs.
"I'm not giving up my wand," Satlynn says flatly.
"It will be in the middle the whole time. You'll be able to see it," Taman says, clearly anxious to get the game started so he can make out with Victoria. Satlynn sighs and reluctantly relinquishes the one thing that makes her feel in control of her surroundings.
"What if it lands on a guy? I'm not making out with a dude," Dewey Finstral says, wiping his brow nervously. Blech. Satlynn prays she doesn't get put with him. Although now that Chester's changed the rules, she can just go behind the fireplace and her "seven minutes in heaven" can consist of her forcing Dewey to do 100 pushups, or something.
"That's the one exception we'll make. If it lands on someone of the same sex, respin," Chester says. He is suddenly in charge of the game, it seems. Taman does not look happy about this new regime.
Satlynn doesn't mind watching Chester take charge; he seems quite experienced at this sort of thing. Satlynn shakes her head at herself; what's wrong with her?! It's Chester fucking Silko! She should not be freaking out about him. It doesn't have to mean anything; it's just a game, she reminds herself. She could totally make out with Silko and then see him in class tomorrow like it's no big deal...Couldn't she?
"Right. Korsdahl, we'll let you do the honors," Chester commands, handing Taman's empty soda bottle to Louisa.
"Me?" Lousia squeaks nervously.
"Yes, you," Chester says, giving her a reassuring smile as she fiddles with the bottle. Satlynn rolls her eyes; Silko thinks he's so damn smooth. The room goes quiet as Louisa releases the bottle and sends it spinning. Unfortunately for Louisa, it points back to her.
"Oh, okay. So I guess it's Victoria's turn, then?" Louisa says, sounding relieved as she tries to pass the bottle to her friend next to her.
"No, you respin," Victoria says, looking at Louisa like, 'would-you-be-cool'? As she hands the bottle back to her.
"Oh. Uh - okay," Louisa says breathlessly as she glances over at Chester and giggles. Well, fuck. As Louisa sets the bottle spinning again, Satlynn thinks not Chester, not Chester, not Chester over and over again. Not that she cares. She doesn't even want to make out with Silko. Not that much, anyway.
Her heart nearly sings with relief when the bottle slows down and passes Chester - it doesn't look like it's going to come back his way. It goes around, past Taman, past Louisa, past Victoria, past Feron, and at last, it lands on - Dewey Finstral.
Oh, shit. Satlynn does NOT envy Louisa. She has to bite her lip to keep from bursting out laughing.
"Ummm…" Louisa says, sounding disappointed. Satlynn is annoyed to see that Chester looks a little disappointed, too. Isn't he flirting with Victoria, anyway? Apparently he doesn't care who he makes out with, as long as it's one of the fourth-year girls.
"Alright, well. Go ahead," Chester says, motioning for Dewey and Louisa to get up and go behind the fireplace. Dewey is sweating profusely; he doesn't look at Louisa as he follows her into the alcove.
"Alright, we're timing you!" Taman yells once they disappear. He sighs and looks up at the clock. There's an awkward silence as they all look around the circle at one another.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Satlynn asks irritatedly. Seven minutes is a long time to just hang out and do nothing.
"Truth or dare?" Taman asks hopefully. Satlynn groans. He's insufferable! The depths he will sink to to get Victoria's attention is ridiculous.
"I'm not playing," Satlynn says.
"Come on, live a little," Chester says, nudging her with his elbow. Satlynn catches his eye in surprise. He wants her to play? Is he flirting with her?
"I guess I could play a round," Satlynn says lightly. Griffin snorts loudly, and Satlynn whips her head around to glare at him.
"Shut up," she mutters to him, hoping Chester can't hear.
"Didn't say anything," Griffin says innocently. Satlynn just rolls her eyes at him and focuses her attention on Chester again.
"I'll go first," Chester says, licking his lips as he looks around the circle for a target. He finally turns his head to look at Satlynn next to him. Her heart rate picks up a little.
"LaRue," he says, his voice full of self-confidence as he focuses on her. "Truth or dare?"
Satlynn bites her lip as she considers; it's a bit of a trap, isn't it? She doesn't want to make out with anyone (well, she mildly wants to make out with Chester, but not in front of everyone), but she also doesn't want to confess any embarrassing secrets. Does she have any embarrassing secrets, though?
"Truth," she decides at last.
"Alright," Chester says, looking like he's bloated with power now that he gets to decide her fate.
"Who's your first choice for seven minutes in heaven?" he asks, a sly smile creeping across his face. Satlynn glares at him, annoyed with the question; everyone knows she doesn't want any of the other people in the circle.
"Well, not Dewey," Satlynn says. "And, you know. Griffin and Taman are my friends, so I wouldn't choose them either."
"Mhm. You have to choose someone," Chester says, a wicked grin plastered on his face. Satlynn sighs.
"Well, I guess I'd choose you, wouldn't I?" she admits, crossing her arms in annoyance.
"I mean, it's a no-brainer," Chester agrees as he continues to smirk at her. She feels her face growing hot and she's never felt more annoyed.
"Okay, it's my turn," Satlynn says. "Taman. Truth or dare?" she addresses her friend. He looks taken aback - which is unwarranted, since he's the one who suggested this game in the first place.
"Oh. Well - truth, I guess," Taman says.
"Who do you want to make out with?" she asks, purposely using a patronizing voice because it's so ridiculously obvious to everyone that he desperately wants to make out with Victoria.
"Oh. You mean like, now? Or just, like, generally?" Taman asks as he flickers his eyes over to Victoria.
"I obviously mean now."
"Oh. Well. Um. I - I guess I would do it with - I mean, not do it with, but like, the seven minute thing, if I had to choose someone from the circle, here and now -"
"Just pick someone!" Griffin says, sounding exasperated.
"Victoria," Taman says in a rush. Victoria blushes a little and exchanges a significant look with her friend, Feron.
"That's seven minutes," Chester says with a yawn.
"Yo, lovers! You can come out now!" he hollers, and Dewey and Louisa come creeping around the corner, looking a little embarrassed, but still neat.
"So, what happens now? Do we get back in the circle?" Dewey asks. Chester considers, looking at Louisa with a hungry look on his face.
"Oh, yeah. You can get back in," he says, but he doesn't seem to care that Dewey is back in. He just likes that Louisa is a potential option again.
"Okay. Let's go to the right. Victoria, you're up," Chester instructs.
"Oh, here we go," Satlynn mutters to Griffin, who raises his eyebrows at her like 'we'll-see-what-happens,-I-guess.' Victoria glances around nervously, then sets the bottle spinning. Satlynn finds herself hoping, once again, that Chester doesn't get chosen. She crosses her fingers and hopes for Taman. For all her teasing, she does want him to be happy; or at the very least, she wants him to finally kiss someone. Not Chester, not Chester, not Chester… The bottle actually seems to be following her orders as it passes Chester, passes Dewey, passes Feron, slows, passes Louisa, slows even more, passes Victoria, and finally, lands on...Taman!
"Ah!" Satlynn shrieks excitedly, Clapping her hands together like a loon. Taman gives her a 'shut-the-fuck-up' look, but he looks like he wants to clap his hands together like a loon, too. Satlynn just grins proudly at Taman, as if he's done something to deserve her pride.
"Okay. Well then," Taman clears his throat as he stands up and extends his hand to Victoria to help her up. She accepts and follows him behind the corner.
"Is someone timing?" Taman asks as he pokes his head out briefly, then gets pulled back into the alcove.
"I'll watch the clock," Dewey mutters. Chester looks even more disappointed now than he did when Louisa had her seven minutes. Louisa, Feron, and Dewey immediately start whispering excitedly together.
"Oh, my God. I'm so glad he's finally going to have his first kiss! Our boy. I'm proud of our boy," Satlynn says in a silly voice. "Aren't you?" she asks Griffin, who's tugging at his shoelace.
"I mean, yeah. Good for him," Griffin says with a shrug. "Maybe he'll even get a date out of it." Satlynn nods, still grinning like a fool. Good old Taman. He needed this.
"Enough about Perry," Chester snaps bitterly. "Vaughn, truth or dare?" he demands, looking at Griffin sharply.
"Didn't you already go?" Griffin asks defensively.
"Yeah. But whatever," Chester says. Griffin looks irritated, but gives in.
"I guess truth. I don't want to do anything stupid."
"Fine then," Chester says. "Hm. How many girls have you made out with?"
"Um. Three," Griffin says uncertainly, sounding like he's not sure if that's too many or not enough. "Or four if you count my first kiss when I was five. Although, I guess that wasn't making out, was it? And she's a lesbian now - which is, of course, a great vote of confidence for my kissing abilities."
Satlynn lets out a snort of laughter. "You made a girl gay?! WHAT?!" she asks between laughs.
"I mean, I don't think I made her gay," Griffin says, looking a little embarrassed, but mostly just amused.
"Who is this girl?!" Satlynn asks, still unable to get her laughter under control.
"You know Sadie Valentine? The lesbian? Yeah. We kissed when I was five," Griffin says, smiling a little at the absurdity of it all.
"Wow. That is amazing. I'm so glad I know this," Satlynn says, her mood exponentially lifted upon gaining this knowledge about Griffin.
"Okay, now let me ask you one. Truth or dare, Satlynn?" Griffin asks her.
"Oh, truth, always. Dare is lame," Satlynn says with a shrug.
"Truth. Hm. Okay. What can I ask Satlynn LaRue…" Griffin says, looking at her conspiratorially as he ponders. She just shrugs and hopes he doesn't come up with anything too juicy to ask her.
"Well, I guess we'll never know because YOUR TIME IS UP!" Chester yells towards the alcove.
There's a long pause, and then Victoria pokes her head out, her hair and clothes slightly mussed and her cheeks rosy. Satlynn starts clapping and whooping like crazy. He deserves it, after all, she decides as Taman comes out with a huge grin on his face. He and Victoria take their spots in the circle, this time sitting much closer than they were before. Satlynn ships it. Diehard. She's also pleased that Victoria didn't get to make out with Chester. Ha. And, you know what, it's actually a win-win, because Victoria looks very happy with whatever happened with Taman.
"Alright, well, I just went. So should we skip me, then?" Taman asks as he holds up the bottle.
"Yeah, you don't need to go again," Chester says, a hint of bitterness in his voice.
"Okay. Well then, it's all you, mate," Taman says as he tosses the bottle over to Griffin.
"Right," Griffin says as he thumps the bottle against his wrist and glances across the circle to Louisa and Feron. Satlynn frowns and hopes that the bottle doesn't land on Victoria - what if Griffin wanted to be paired up with her, too? That would be awful for Taman. She thinks Griffin should pair up with Feron - they're both in quidditch, after all. They can talk about quidditch stuff together if they don't actually want to make out.
She zones out a little as Griffin starts spinning the bottle. She realizes, with a sudden flash of panic, that she's next! She's going to have to spin, whether she likes it or not. Maybe she can sneak her wand out of the middle to ensure that it lands on Chester… Hm. Or maybe everyone will expect it to land on Chester, because by then, everyone else will have gone except her and Chester.
"...Satlynn," Griffin says, and Satlynn shakes out of her reverie to look over at him.
"Um - we're up," he says with a shrug.
"Oh. What?" Satlynn asks. She glances down, and sure enough, the bottle that Griffin just spun is pointing at her.
"Oh. Well, you don't have to," she tells Griffin, feeling guilty that he's not going to get to make out with one of the fourth-year girls.
"It's fine," he says nonchalantly.
"Oh," Satlynn says. Well, it's not fine with her! She was just minutes away from getting to make out with Chester Silko, and now she gets to have a cramped conversation with Griffin, instead. God fucking damn it. She was literally so close.
"Well...alright then," Satlynn says as she stands up reluctantly. She glances over at Taman, who's looking at her with raised eyebrows.
"I'll teach him how to braid," she tells Taman with a shrug. Taman laughs nervously and tells her he's starting the timer as she disappears around the corner. Ugh, it's disgusting and cramped behind the fireplace. There are cobwebs everywhere, and the brick walls are cold and dirty.
"Well, isn't this pleasant," Satlynn says sarcastically as Griffin follows her into the hidden alcove. There's a hint of light from the rest of the room, but it's mainly just very dark and depressing.
"Yeah. Romantic, I'd say," Griffin says lightly.
"Ugh, God, can you NOT touch me, please?" Satlynn says, nudging Griffin's arm away from her.
"I can't, I'm literally as close to the wall as I can get," Griffin says indignantly.
"Well, when did we get so FAT?!" Satlynn demands as she tries to wriggle her way into a different position so their arms aren't touching.
"Back in the day, Penny, Ziph, and I could all fit in here," Satlynn continues as she flops over so she's standing across from Griffin. Their toes are still touching, though. Extremely annoying.
"Mhmm," Griffin mumbles, sounding disinterested.
"Okay, I'm sorry you didn't actually get to make out with anyone," Satlynn says sincerely.
"What do you mean?" Griffin asks.
"Well, you're in here with me and not one of the fourth-years," Satlynn says, stating the obvious. There's a pause, and it's so dark that she can't really see what his face is doing.
"...Oh," he says finally.
A surge of nervousness hits Satlynn, for some reason. She feels like Griffin is being really weird, but she doesn't know what's up with him, and she feels strange, too, all of the sudden.
"Anyway. Which one of them did you want to make out with?" Satlynn asks. Griffin just looks at her - or, she assumes he's looking at her, it's hard to tell. She wonders if he doesn't want to admit that the girl he wanted was, in fact, Victoria Edger.
"You can tell me," Satlynn encourages. "I won't tell."
"Hm, I dunno," Griffin says. "So, am I supposed to braid your hair?" he asks as he reaches over and pulls a chunk of her hair from the back to the front. The problem is, her back is against the wall, and her hair catches on the bricks.
"OW!" Satlynn screeches as she careens forward and attempts to keep her footing - it's hard when there's no space for her feet, and she crashes into Griffin and slams him against the other wall.
"Ah!" he yells as his elbow crunches against the bricks. Satlynn cry-laughs at how ridiculous the situation is. Griffin is still supporting her arms, and her face is shoved into his collarbone at an extremely awkward angle. This is just absurd. She can't stop laughing as she tries to get her face out so she can see what Griffin looks like- if he's okay, or if his elbow is actually broken. To her relief, he looks fine, and he giggles back at her.
"I'm in so much pain," she chokes out between peals of laughter. He really pulled her hair.
"Same here," Griffin admits.
"Oh, my God, I'm actually crying," Satlynn says, "Here…" she finds one of Griffin's hands, which is tangled somewhere in her arm and brings it to her face so he can feel her real, live tears of laughter, since it's too dark to see.
"You are," Griffin acknowledges and he clumsily tries to help her wipe them away. He's probably really messing up her makeup. Whatever. She's about to go to bed, anyway, and she missed her chance with Silko.
She lets out a stray giggle and looks up at Griffin gratefully. Suddenly, she realizes for the first time that maybe she could make out with someone this evening - just not anyone she expected. Her breath catches as Griffin's hand stills against her cheek. She wonders if he's thinking the same thing. He moves his hand slowly down, past her ear, behind her neck to cradle the back of her head.
In the dim lighting, she can just make out one of his eyes, illuminated by the beam of light from the common room. He looks at her - a strange expression on his face. It suddenly seems excessively quiet - excessively quiet and excessively warm.
Satlynn wonders if maybe they're standing against the wall on the opposite side of the fire - maybe that's why she's excessively warm. Maybe that's why she feels like there's a sheen of sweat forming all over her body. She hears Griffin's throat make a clicking sound as she swallows, and then her eyes adjust to the dark a bit, and he's looking right into her eyes. Her stomach gives an unexpected, if not altogether unwelcome, swoop.
Before she has time to say anything, Griffin slowly starts tugging her face forward - towards him. Towards him? Is this… is this what she…? She's not sure if she…
Griffin starts leaning towards her, then pauses a little. He exhales so close, she can feel the heat of his breath against her bottom lip. She squeezes his arm lightly in what she hopes is an encouraging way. It seems to work, because before she can give it a second thought, he leans forward and lets his lips brush against hers. She gasps softly, then kisses him back slowly, a fuzzy feeling clouding her mind as she clasps her hands behind his neck so she can pull him closer. She feels his lips pushing insistently against hers, and she lets herself push back a little to deepen the kiss. She's feeling a little less shy now that they seem equally invested in the moment, so she starts exploring him with her hands - caressing his back, shoulders, arms. He glides his hands down to her waist and pushes her lightly against the other wall, so her back is against the wall. It's a little farther away than she expected, and she gasps when she hits it a little hard.
"Sorry -" Griffin whispers, readjusting his feet slightly now that they're in a different position.
"It's fine -" Satlynn whispers, eager to stop wasting time as she pulls Griffin towards her again. He plunges his mouth back onto hers without hesitation, and she sighs with relief, welcoming back the fuzzy feeling and letting it take over even more than she did before. She feels Griffin inching his body towards hers, and she feels her breath catch as he leans against her, their bodies rocking rhythmically together. Her thighs feel tight, and she's struck by a sudden urge to open her legs, feel his body there -
"LOVERS! Your time is UP!" Chester calls from outside.
"Mpph," Satlynn mumbles as she reluctantly lets Griffin slide his tongue out of her mouth.
"Our time is up," Griffin whispers, his breathing hard as he takes a moment to trail tantalizing kisses along her neck.
"No," Satlynn whines.
"I know," Griffin whispers. She pulls back from him a bit so she can look up at him to try to figure out how he feels about everything. She wonders if he thinks this was a mistake, or a random, one-time event, or something else.
"What should we tell them?" she asks, and he meets her eyes. Her heart picks up as the reality of what just happened seems to hit them both.
"Maybe - we say nothing happened? For now?" Griffin suggests softly.
"Okay."
Satlynn just stares at him, not wanting to move. Things out there won't be like they were in here.
"Just until - we figure it out...more," Griffin clarifies.
"Okay," Satlynn says again.
"Come on," Griffin says, pulling on her wrist gently, and Satlynn lets him lead her out of the alcove.
Notes:
Just what we needed: five more OCs. Lol. I love this chapter.
