Chapter 129: The Power of Normal Types! Ash vs Whitney!

Hello everyone, this chapter will have the group finally make it to Goldenrod City so that Ash can have his third gym battle. This is a long chapter, and I hope you all enjoy it!

The chapter begins two days after the last chapter ended. The past two days have been relaxing for the group and also allowed for Ash to get to know his new capture Houndour more. Similar to Ash's Pikachu, Venusaur, Clefable, Hitmonlee and Hisuian Arcanine Houndour's a natural born leader. He helps train up Ash's other Johto captures and also helps Cyndaquil increase his fire power. Houndour also really likes training with Ash's Fire Type and Dark Type Pokémon. Similar to Ash's Sirfetch'd when he was a Farfetch'd Houndour isn't too keen on pranks as when Gengar along with Rillaboom and Ursaring tried to prank the mon Houndour launched a big Fire Blast at them causing them to run away.

The Pokémon that Houndour gets along with the most are Ash's fire/dark types, Lucario, Dusk Lycanroc, Alolan Ninetales, Venusaur, Pikachu, Hitmonlee, and Clefable. Houndour also gets along with Misty's and Brock's Pokémon too and has also been granted permission to be another ambassador for Oak's ranch as he goes around making sure that the Pokémon there get along and don't have any unnecessary fights. Houndour also gave Ash's Kingambit some tips on how to lead as the Bisharp and Pawniard that follow Kingambit were starting to cause some trouble in the ranch, so Kingambit thanked Houndour for the help. Now with the update out of the way we see the group continuing to walk on the road and as they continue to walk Brock speaks.

"Well, here we are guys." Brock says making the others look as they've now entered Goldenrod City. Ash along with Pikachu, Misty and Togetic have surprised looks on their faces seeing just how big the city is as Ash speaks.

"Wow this place is big." Ash says as Misty speaks.

"Yeah, I've never been to a city as big as this one before." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Yep, Goldenrod City is one of the biggest cities in the world." Brock says with the two kids nodding as Ash speaks.

"So, Brock where's the gym?" Ash asks as Brock pulls out his guidebook and speaks.

"According to my guidebook it's this way." Brock says with the group nodding as they begin walking forward. As they're walking, they come across many stores and food stands which makes Misty along with Brock want to try them out, but Ash wants to have his gym battle. As they continue to walk, they reach a dead end as Ash speaks.

"It's a dead end." Ash says as Brock speaks.

"Looks like we got turned around somewhere. Come on let's go this way." Brock says with the group nodding as they follow him. After that they continue running into multiple dead ends as an hour passes and are now at another dead end. The group is tired as Misty looks at Brock and speaks.

"Brock we've been doing this for an hour now are you sure that you know where you're going?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"I'll be honest I don't know as the map for this city is very confusing." Brock responds while looking at the map as Ash's stomach growls and speaks.

"For now, I'd rather have one of those Hamburgers that we walked past." Ash says with Misty and Brock agreeing with him. Pikachu's ears then perk up causing him to run towards the end of the alley and when he reaches the end, he accidentally bumps into a Clefairy. The group run over to Pikachu asking if he's okay with the yellow mouse nodding as they then hear a voice.

"Oh, I'm sorry did my Clefairy run into your Pikachu?" The voice asks making the group look as they see Whitney then speak.

"It's Whitney!" The 3 kids say making Whitney look at them as she smiles and speaks.

"Hey, I know you guys you took part in the SS. Anne tournament, right?" Whitney asks with the group nodding as Ash speaks.

"Yep, and I'm here to have a gym battle against you." Ash says with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"A gym battle huh? You know I probably should've expected you to come here too as a few days ago I battled your friend Leaf. She gave me a great battle and ultimately defeated me." Whitney says surprising the group as Misty speaks.

"I wasn't expecting Leaf to also be taking on the Johto gyms." Misty says with Brock saying the same thing as Ash speaks.

"Well that just makes me more excited as now I have another rival." Ash says while having a smile on his face as Ash looks at Whitney and speaks.

"By the way Whitney would you be able to take us to your gym?" Ash asks as Misty speaks.

"We were on our way there but got lost." Misty says with Brock nodding saying that the map is confusing as Whitney speaks.

"Sure, I can take you guys to the gym as I know exactly where it is. But first I need to give Pikachu a kiss on the head as he has a small bump." Whitney says as she picks up the mouse, kisses him on the head and speaks.

"There does that feel better?" Whitney asks with Pikachu nodding as suddenly Brock slams his head against a wall getting a big bump then looks at Whitney and speaks.

"I think one of those kisses can help with my bump too." Brock says while looking at the girl as Misty grabs Brock's ear and pulls him away causing Ash to chuckle. Whitney then looks at Ash and speaks.

"Okay are you guys ready to go?" Whitney asks with the group nodding as Ash speaks.

"Yeah, let's head to the gym!" Ash says happily but the moment he says that his stomach growls, causing him to blush in embarrassment as Whitney speaks.

"Um are you hungry?" Whitney asks as Ash speaks.

"As we were trying to find the gym, we walked past a few hamburger stands which made us hungry." Ash says with Misty and Brock agreeing with him. Whitney smiles and speaks.

"In that case why don't we head to a hamburger stand first then we can have our gym battle. Come on I'll take you." Whitney says with the group nodding as they begin following her. When they do, they somehow make it to the entrance of the city making Whitney say that she got a little turned around causing them to back track as they then make it into a salon where two men are about to give Pikachu and Clefairy haircuts, but Ash and Whitney pull them away. The group continue to follow Whitney as they somehow wind up at the Goldenrod City Galleria which surprises everyone as Whitney speaks.

"Now how did we end up here?" Whitney questions as Ash speaks.

"You know I'm starting to think that Whitney is poor with directions." Ash says as Misty speaks.

"You don't say." Misty says as after that hers along with Ash, Brock's, Pikachu and Togetic's stomachs growl making Whitney look at them and speak.

"Well, it may not be Hamburgers, but we can get something to eat in here. Come on let's go through the automatic doors. Whitney says as she happily runs forward and runs into the doors finding out that they're not automatic causing the group to face palm. They then enter the building and see many shops that interest them but quickly head to the food court where they learn that they do make Hamburgers there. The group happily eat the hamburgers and are satisfied and also drink something called Moomoo milk which is made by Miltank. The group absolutely love the milk as Whitney tells them that her Miltank along with the others at her uncle's farm work hard to create the best Moomoo milk in the world with the group nodding. After they've finished eating, they begin heading for the gym.

Like before, due to Whitney's poor directions, they do get lost for a few minutes but sometime later they're able to make it to the gym. The group then go inside as Whitney looks at Ash and speaks.

"Okay Ash our battle will begin in 10 minutes and will be a 6v6 battle come to the battlefield when you're ready." Whitney says with Ash nodding as Whitney along with her Clefairy then begin heading for the battlefield. Back to the group Misty looks at Ash and speaks.

"So, Ash do you know what 6 Pokémon you'll be using for the battle?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"Seeing as Whitney specializes in Normal types a team of fighting type Pokémon would work as their moves would be super effective. You can also use a ghost type too as normal type moves won't be able to touch them." Brock suggests with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"You're right Brock but I get the feeling that Whitney would expect those types, so I think that it'd be best for me to use 6 Pokémon that have different types instead." Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as after that they then walk over to a video phone; Ash dials the number, and the phone begins to ring. The phone rings three times until Tracey appears on the screen. He looks at the group, smiles and speaks.

"Ash, Misty, Brock it's been a while guys how have you been?" Tracey asks with the 3 kids saying that they've been doing great, and Tracey also says hello to Pikachu and Togetic. Meanwhile, in the background of the lab we see Ash's Luxray and Pyroar taking a nap, Primeape along with Hawlucha are shadow boxing, Kleavor, Sirfetch'd, Ceruledge and Greninja are meditating. Daisy is giving Melmetal some machine parts that she doesn't need any more allowing the mon to eat them and she also gives Ash's Tinkaton some iron pieces to help fix her hammer as it got cracked during a training battle with Melmetal. Ash looks at the mons and smiles at them as Tracey speaks.

"So, what can I do for you guys today? And where are you calling from?" Tracey asks as Ash speaks.

"We're currently at the Goldenrod City Gym and I'm calling to switch out my Pokémon as I've the perfect 6 in mind." Ash responds with Tracey nodding as he speaks.

"Okay Ash tell me what Pokémon you want, and I'll send them over." Tracey says with Ash nodding as he tells Tracey the mons, he wants him to send over with Tracey grabbing them then does the transfer. When the transfer is done the two boys confirm that they got the Pokeball's safe and sound. Tracey then tells Ash good luck in his gym battle with Ash saying thank you as they then end the call. When that's done Ash now feels ready as he along with Misty and Brock head for the battlefield.

When they make it, Whitney asks Ash if he's ready with Ash saying that he is making Whitney smile saying that she's ready too as she goes over to her spot on the battlefield. Misty along with Brock wish Ash good luck and go stand next to a corner to watch the battle while Ash and Pikachu go over to their side on the battlefield and look at Whitney with Whitney looking at them. We now cut away from them and see Silver walking through Goldenrod City while having a frustrated look on his face as he speaks.

"I thought there'd be traces of Team Rocket in this city but after searching for the pass 3 days I've found no leads. What a waste of time." Silver says to himself while having an annoyed look on his face. Unbeknownst to Silver, Domino is watching him from a far making sure that he doesn't spot her. Over with Silver he continues to walk as he speaks.

"Guess I should leave this city and check elsewhere." Silver says to himself as he then begins walking by the Goldenrod Gym. As he's walking something catches his eye as he sees Ash along with Whitney about to have a gym battle. Silver is about to walk away as he doesn't care about the battle, but he is curious in seeing how Ash handles himself in a gym battle and decides to watch but makes sure that the group can't see him. We now head back inside the gym and see Ash along with Whitney still staring at each other as the referee makes herself known and begins to speak.

"This is a 6v6 single battle between the Goldenrod City Gym Leader Whitney and the Challenger Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town. Only the challenger is allowed to make substitutions and whoever knocks out all of their opponents Pokémon first will be declared the winner! Do both trainers understand?" The ref asks with Ash and Whitney nodding as the ref continues to speak.

"Okay now will both trainers please send out your first Pokémon!" The ref asks as Whitney pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.

"Dudunsparce you're first!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends out a 3-segmented Dudunsparce. The mon has a serious look on its face and is waiting for its opponent as Ash speaks.

"So, a Dudunsparce is up first then I'll go with this one." Ash says to himself as he pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.

"Heracross, I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends in Heracross. When Heracross appears, he has a smile on his face and is ready to battle. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Heracross is up first and has the type advantage against Whitney's Dudunsparce." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"True but Whitney doesn't look concerned." Brock says as over with Witney she looks at Heracross and speaks.

"A Heracross huh? That's not surprising and Dudunsparce will take it down!" Whitney says with her Dudunsparce nodding as Ash speaks.

"We'll see about that! Heracross get ready!" Ash says with Heracross nodding as he along with Dudunsparce get into battle stances. Both trainers along with their Pokémon are staring at each other while having serious looks on their faces as the ref speaks.

"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" The ref calls as Whitney speaks.

"Since you're the challenger Ash, I'll let you go first." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"Thanks, and here we come! Heracross use Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross flies forward, covers his right fist in blue fighting energy and goes to hit Dudunsparce as Whitney speaks.

"Stop it with Screech!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce lets out a loud ear-piercing screech that instantly causes Heracross to stop and cover his ears. Heracross can feel that his physical defense has decreased as Whitney speaks.

"Great now use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce turns into a drill and shoots forward heading for Heracross as Ash speaks.

"Heracross dodge then use Focus Punch again!" Ash calls. Heracross sees Dudunsparce coming and quickly moves to the left narrowly dodging Dudunsparce's attack. Heracross then flies forward, covers his left fist in blue fighting energy and goes to hit Dudunsparce as Whitney speaks.

"Use Dig to dodge!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods and quickly digs underground dodging Heracross's attack as Ash speaks.

"You're not getting away from us that easily! Heracross use Mega Horn on the ground!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as his horn glows in green bug energy and slams it down hard on the battlefield. This causes the battlefield to shake as a few seconds later Dudunsparce appears out from the ground surprising the mon along with Whitney as Ash speaks.

"Great job Heracross! Now use Focus Punch and increase your speed with Aerial Ace!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as he covers his right fist in blue fighting energy and shoots forward. Before Whitney can call for a command Heracross increases his speed with Aerial Ace and manages to punch Dudunsparce causing super effective damage to the mon as Ash speaks.

"Great job Heracross now use Megahorn!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as his horn glows in green bug energy and slams it on Dudunsparce sending the mon crashing on the ground. Whitney speaks.

"Dudunsparce!" Whitney calls in worry as when the smoke clears it shows Dudunsparce lying on its back groaning in pain as Ash speaks.

"Okay Heracross it's time to finish Dudunsparce off! Use Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as he covers his right fist in blue fighting energy and quickly descends going to punch Dudunsparce as Whitney speaks.

"Use Roar!" Whitney calls surprising Ash. Back on the battlefield just when Heracross is about to hit Dudunsparce, the mon lets out a mighty roar causing Heracross to stop as he's then sent back into his Pokeball. A couple seconds later Bayleef appears on the battlefield taking Heracross's place and has a confused look on her face as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Okay Dudunsparce use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls with Dudunsparce nodding as it quickly turns into a drill and shoots forward going to hit Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef quick launch yourself in the air with Vine Whip then use Razor Leaf!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods as she quickly slams two vines on the ground sending her high into the air and dodge Dudunsparce's attack. Bayleef then fires out multiple razor-sharp leaves that head for Dudunsparce. Neither Whitney nor Dudunsparce are worried as Whitney speaks.

"Break through it with Ice Spinner!" Whitney calls. "It knows Ice Spinner?!" Ash says in surprise. Back on the battlefield Dudunsparce covers its body in ice and begins spinning upward. Dudunsparce easily cuts through the razor-sharp leaves and hits Bayleef causing super effective damage to her as Whitney speaks.

"Knock it down with Poison Tail!" "Quick Bayleef use Protect!" Both trainers' call. Before Bayleef can use Protect Dudunsparce covers its tail in poison and slams it hard onto Bayleef's head sending her crashing down on the battlefield creating a dust cloud as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef!" Ash calls in worry as when the dust clears it shows Bayleef lying on her left side groaning in pain but then stands back up. When she does Bayleef begins to cough showing that she's now poisoned, surprising Ash. Off to the side Brock speaks.

"This isn't good now that Bayleef's poisoned she'll continue to take damage over time." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Whitney speaks.

"Dudunsparce use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce turns into a drill and descends heading for Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Dodge Bayleef!" Ash calls. Bayleef quickly jumps back avoiding Dudunsparce's attack as Whitney speaks.

"Use Dig!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods as it continues to spin and digs into the battlefield. When Bayleef lands a few feet away she can feel Dudunsparce moving underneath her as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef dodge!" Ash calls with Bayleef nodding as when she goes to dodge, she begins to take poison damage causing Ash to grit his teeth as Whitney speaks.

"Do it Dudunsparce!" Whitney calls as a couple seconds later Dudunsparce bursts from the ground, hitting Bayleef and sends her flying high into the air. Bayleef then crashes back down on the battlefield a few feet away landing on her stomach as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef!" Ash calls in worry as over with Bayleef she's groaning in pain and takes some poison damage. Over with Brock he speaks.

"Bayleef hasn't been on the field for long but has already taken a lot of damage. If things keep going on like this Bayleef will faint without ever landing a single hit on Dudunsparce." Brock says as Misty speaks.

"Ash, Bayleef you got this!" "Tic!" Misty along with Togetic let out a cheer as over with Silver he continues to watch the battle and is interested in seeing what Ash will do next. Over with Ash he looks at Bayleef who's groaning in pain and begins to think.

"This isn't good if Bayleef takes a few more hits she'll faint. Whitney's Dudunsparce is fast and also knows a variety of moves like Ice Spinner and Poison Tail which are super effective against Bayleef. I could switch out Bayleef but seeing as how Dudunsparce knows roar it'll just bring in Bayleef again or possibly one of my other Pokémon to weaken them. Wow it's no wonder Whitney's a gym leader." Ash says to himself while looking at Whitney who has a smile on her face and speaks.

"Sorry to break you out of your thoughts Ash but you can't win battles if you don't say anything. Dudunsparce use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls with Dudunsparce nodding as it quickly turns into a drill and shoots forward heading for Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Protect!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods and quickly summons a protective barrier that manages to block Dudunsparce's attack and sends the mon bouncing back a few feet away. Bayleef then takes some poison damage as Ash thinks.

"There's also the poison I need to watch out for as even if Bayleef manages to either dodge or block Dudunsparce's attacks she'll still take damage overtime. What can I do to beat Dudunsparce?" Ash says to himself as he then looks at two holes that Dudunsparce has dug up, gets an idea and speaks.

"Yeah, that can work." Ash says to himself as he looks over at Bayleef and speaks.

"Bayleef I just thought of something hang in there!" Ash says with Bayleef nodding as she manages to stand back up, Whitney speaks.

"You thought of something huh? I'm curious but I know not to let my curiosity get the better of me. Dudunsparce use Screech then Ice Spinner!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce lets out a loud ear-piercing screech that instantly makes contact with Bayleef hurting her ears and lowering her physical defense. Dudunsparce then covers its body in ice and shoots forward going to hit Bayleef. Off to the side Brock speaks.

"Not good! If Dudunsparce lands that attack Bayleef's going to faint for sure!" Brock exclaims while having a worried look on his face with Misty and Togetic having the same look. Back on the battlefield Dudunsparce is about to hit Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods and fires out a grassy seed from her mouth that connects with the still spinning Dudunsparce creating an explosion. Dudunsparce is sent sliding back a few feet away as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Synthesis!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods as she lets out a loud "Bay!" causing her to glow and heal the damage that she's received in the battle so far. Whitney speaks.

"Giving yourselves time to heal huh? Well, we're not going to let you heal fully! Dudunsparce use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods as it becomes a drill and shoots forward heading for Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef dodge then use Razor Leaf!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods as she takes some poison damage then quickly moves to the right dodging Dudunsparce's attack. Bayleef lands a few feet away then begins firing out multiple razor-sharp leaves at Dudunsparce as Whitney speaks.

"That won't work! Dudunsparce use dig!" Whitney calls with Dudunsparce nodding as it quickly digs underground avoiding Bayleef's attack. Ash then smiles and speaks.

"Thanks Whitney you just fell into our trap" Ash says making Whitney confused as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef fire a Sweet Scent into the holes!" Ash calls with Bayleef nodding as she quickly sends out a sweet aroma that goes into the 3 holes that Dudunsparce has left on the battlefield. Once Bayleef does that in the holes Dudunsparce smells it and gets excited as it then appears out of the ground making Ash smile as he speaks.

"Okay Bayleef keep using Sweet Scent then use Razor Leaf!" "Dudunsparce use Ice Spinner!" Both trainers' call. Bayleef keeps using Sweet Scent and fires out multiple razor-sharp leaves. Over with Dudunsparce when it's about to use Ice Spinner it stops because of the sweet aroma, this causes the Razor Leaf's to hit Dudunsparce causing damage to the mon surprising Whitney as Brock speaks.

"I get it by having Bayleef use Sweet Scent in the holes it allowed Dudunsparce to appear because of the smell and as Bayleef continues to use Sweet Scent Dudunsparce's evasiveness continues to decrease allowing for Bayleef's attacks to hit it." Brock says with Misty nodding as she along with Togetic cheer. Back on the battlefield Whitney speaks.

"So that's your plan." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"Yep, I have a Dudunsparce of my own who's similar to my Decidueye in that they like the smell of sweet things so I figured the same thing would be true for your Dudunsparce as well. Now that we have Dudunsparce where we want it all Bayleef has to do is keep using Razor Leaf and she'll win." Ash says while having a smile on his face with Whitney nodding as she smiles and speaks.

"Nice plan Ash but I wonder how long Bayleef can keep using Razor Leaf for." Whitney says making Ash confused as back on the battlefield as Bayleef continues using Sweet Scent and Razor Leaf she suddenly stops and begins to cough because of the poison as Ash speaks.

"That's right Bayleef's still poisoned" Ash says while gritting his teeth as Whitney smirks and speaks.

"And now we'll take this chance to attack! Dudunsparce use Hyper Drill!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods as it becomes a drill and shoots forward at a fast speed going to hit Bayleef as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef quick use Protect!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods as she quickly summons a protective barrier causing Dudunsparce to collide with it. Whitney speaks.

"Dudunsparce keep going until you break it!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce begins spinning faster and is slowly causing the barrier to crack more and more, making it harder for Bayleef to keep the barrier up. Ash then speaks.

"Bayleef hang in there!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer. Bayleef nods and continues to keep the barrier up but then a few seconds later the poison begins causing damage to her again, making her lose focus as Whitney speaks.

"Dudunsparce break it now!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce spins faster causing the barrier to crack more and more until a few seconds later it manages to destroy the barrier surprising Bayleef along with Ash as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Great Dudunsparce now hit it!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods as it goes to hit Bayleef Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Seed Bomb!" Ash calls. Bayleef quickly fires out a grassy seed from her mouth that collides with Dudunsparce creating an explosion. Out of the smoke appears Dudunsparce who's sent high in the air while Bayleef's sent sliding a few feet away. Bayleef manages to stop herself as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Razor Leaf!" Ash calls. Bayleef nods as when she goes to use the move, she stops because of the poison making Ash grit his teeth as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Looks like this victory is ours Ash! Dudunsparce head for Bayleef and use Ice Spinner!" Whitney calls. Dudunsparce nods as when it's about to use the move Ash speaks.

"Bayleef use Sweet Scent!" Ash calls. Bayleef quickly fires out a sweet aroma that connects with Dudunsparce making it stop using the move and lower its evasiveness even more as Ash speaks.

"Now Bayleef use Leaf Storm!" "Dudunsparce use Ice Spinner!" Both trainers' call. Bayleef lets out a loud "BAY!" and fires out a big storm of leaves that head for Dudunsparce. Dudunsparce sees the leaves coming and can't dodge because of the sweet scent. This allows for the Leaf Storm to hit Dudunsparce causing damage to the mon and sending it high into the air as it crashes into the ceiling Whitney speaks.

"Dudunsparce!" Whitney calls in worry as Dudunsparce then falls back on the battlefield landing on its back. Bayleef takes some poison damage and is panting heavily but continues to stand as she along with everyone else look forward waiting to see the results. The ref looks at Dudunsparce, sees that it's knocked out and speaks.

"Dudunsparce is unable to battle Bayleef's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Ash and Pikachu to smile as Ash speaks.

"Yeah! Way to go Bayleef!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer as Bayleef looks over and smiles at them. Bayleef then happily runs over to Ash and tackles him to the ground Ash causing the boy to laugh. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"It was close, but Bayleef managed to defeat Dudunsparce." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Yeah, and while I am happy don't forget Whitney still has 5 Pokémon left. Seeing how strong Dudunsparce was I'm curious to see what her other Pokémon are and Ash shouldn't let his guard down." Brock says with Misty nodding as they continue to watch the battle. Back on the battlefield Whitney returns Dudunsparce back to its Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and puts the ball away. Whitney then looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Good job at taking down my Dudunsparce Ash but I wonder how you'll deal with my next one." Whitney says as she pulls out a Pokeball and goes to throw it.

"Ambipom you're next!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends out a bipedal monkey with two long tails. The mon has a smile on its face as Ash pulls out his Pokédex to scan the mon.

"Ambipom, the Long Tail Pokémon the final evolved form of Aipom and a Normal Type. It uses its two tails to shell nuts, and then it links them together in a ring as a sign of friendship." The Pokédex says as Ash speaks.

"So, it's called Ambipom." Ash says to himself as he looks at Bayleef who's panting heavily and speaks.

"Bayleef take a break for now." Ash says with Bayleef nodding as she goes back into her Pokeball. Ash then looks forward as he pulls out his next Pokeball and speaks.

"Heracross come back out!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends Heracross back in who's ready to battle. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Whitney speaks.

"We'll go first Ash! Ambipom use Aerial Ace!" Whitney calls. Ambipom nods as it shoots forward going to hit Heracross as Ash speaks.

"Heracross counter with your Aerial Ace!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as he shoots forward and collides with Ambipom. The two mons go back and forth for a little bit, but Heracross manages to overpower Ambipom, sending the mon sliding back a few feet away as Ash speaks.

"Heracross use Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross covers his right fist in blue fighting energy and goes to punch Ambipom as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom wrap one of your tails around Heracross's arm!" Whitney calls. Ambipom nods as it shoots its left tail forward and wraps it around Heracross's right arm, surprising the bug and causing him to lose Focus as Whitney speaks.

"Now use Ice Punch!" Whitney calls. Before Ash can call for a command, Ambipom covers its right tail hand in ice energy and punches Heracross hard in the stomach, sending him flying high into the air as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom jump after Heracross and use Ice Punch again!" "Heracross catch them then use Megahorn!" Both trainers call. Ambipom jumps high in the air, covers both of its tail hands in ice energy, reaches Heracross and goes to punch him. Heracross manages to catch Ambipom's tails with his hands then covers his horn in green bug energy and slaps Ambipom hard across the face as Ash speaks.

"Great now use Close Combat!" Ash calls. Before Whitney can call for a command Heracross begins punching Ambipom repeatedly with his fists causing super effective damage to the mon. Heracross then punches Ambipom hard in the face sending it crashing back down on the battlefield making it land on its back. Ambipom groans in pain as Ash speaks.

"Heracross finish it with Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as he flies down, covers his right fist in blue fighting energy and goes to hit Ambipom as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom use Double Team!" Whitney calls. Just when Heracross is about to hit Ambipom the mon quickly creates multiple clones of itself dodging Heracross's attack causing the beetle to punch the battlefield instead. Heracross looks around and can see that he's surrounded by Ambipom's clones as Whitney speaks.

"Okay Ambipom use Work Up then Baton Pass!" Whitney calls. Ambipom lets out a roar increasing its physical and special attack power. Ambipom then summons a baton and goes back inside its Pokeball as what takes its place is a Lopunny who has a serious look on its face. Over with Misty and Brock, Brock speaks.

"A Lopunny's her next Pokémon and now thanks to Baton Pass it's attack and special attack power have increased because of Ambipom using Work Up." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Whitney speaks.

"Use Mach Punch!" Whitney calls. Lopunny nods as it shoots forward reaching Heracross instantly and punches him hard across the face with its left fist. Lopunny has its right fist ready as Whitney speaks.

"Now use Fire Punch!" "Heracross block!" Both trainers' call. Lopunny covers its right fist in fire and goes to punch Heracross, but the bug manages to bring up his arms in time and blocks the attack. The force of the punch sends Heracross sliding back a few feet away as Ash speaks.

"Wow that was strong." Ash says to himself as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny use Mach Punch again!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as it shoots forward Ash speaks.

"Heracross counter with Aerial Ace!" Ash calls. Heracross shoots forward as he along with Lopunny collide creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears the two-mons sliding away from each other as Ash speaks.

"Heracross fly forward using Aerial Ace and when you get close use Close Combat!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as he shoots forward at a fast speed, heading for Lopunny. Heracross is closing in on Lopunny and has his fists ready as Witney speaks.

"Counter with Play Rough!" Whitney calls. Lopunny nods as when Heracross reaches it and goes to punch it Lopunny covers its fists in fairy energy and collides with Heracross. After that the two mons begin clashing with each other and manage to land a couple hits on each other. The two mons punch each other one more time then slide away from each other as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny jump forward!" Whitney calls. Lopunny nods as it manages to stop itself and jumps forward heading for Heracross as Ash speaks.

"Heracross hit Lopunny with Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross sees Lopunny coming and begins pouring energy into his right fist. Once Lopunny gets close enough Heracross feels ready as Ash speaks.

"Now Heracross!" "Hera!" Ash along with Heracross yell as Heracross goes to punch Lopunny Whitney speaks.

"Dodge with Agility then use Circle Throw!" Whitney calls surprising Ash as when Heracross's fist is just about to make contact with Lopunny the mon speeds up dodging the attack. Lopunny appears above Heracross's head and grabs his horn. Lopunny lands behind Heracross then begins spinning him around fast until she lets go sending Heracross flying. As Heracross is flying he goes back into his Pokeball as Bayleef is forced to come back on the battlefield, shocking Ash along with Bayleef as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Lopunny use Fire Punch!" "Bayleef quick use Protect!" Both trainers' call. Before Bayleef can use Protect Lopunny shoots forward at a fast speed, covers its left fist in fire and punches Bayleef hard in the face causing super effective damage to her. Lopunny gets its left leg ready as Whitney speaks.

"Now use High Jump Kick!" Whitney calls. Before Ash can call for a command Lopunny covers its left leg in red fighting energy and upper cuts Bayleef causing more damage to her. Bayleef groans in pain as Ash speaks.

"Bayleef blow Lopunny back with Leaf Storm!" Ash calls. Bayleef lets out a loud "Bay!" and fires out a big storm of leaves that consumes Lopunny causing damage and pushing the mon back a few feet away as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny use Agility to get out of there!" "Bayleef use Sweet Scent and keep using Leaf Storm!" Both trainers' call. When Lopunny goes to increase its speed Bayleef sends out a sweet aroma that makes contact with Lopunny making its evasiveness decrease. Bayleef continues to roar and keeps using Leaf Storm which is doing a lot of damage to Lopunny as Ash speaks.

"Yeah, that's it Bayleef!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer as Whitney speaks.

"Should you really be celebrating Ash? Because I think you're forgetting something." Whitney says making Ash confused as he then remembers that Bayleef's poisoned and speaks.

"That's right Bayleef's poisoned!" Ash says as back on the battlefield Bayleef stops using Leaf Storm and begins groaning from Poison Damage as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Now's our chance! Lopunny use Acrobatics!" "Bayleef quick use Protect!" Both trainers' call. Lopunny's body glows in blue flying energy and shoots forward. Unfortunately for Ash Bayleef's still groaning in pain from the poison as Lopunny appears in front of Bayleef and begins hitting her back and forth causing super effective damage. Bayleef's crying out in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Finish it Lopunny!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as it then appears in front of Bayleef, spins around and kicks her hard in the chest with its left foot. Bayleef coughs in pain as she's rolling over to where Ash is until she comes to a stop and is landing on her stomach. Ash looks at Bayleef and speaks.

"Bayleef!" Ash calls in worry as he along with everyone can see that Bayleef's knocked out the ref speaks.

"Bayleef's unable to battle Lopunny's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Whitney and Lopunny to smile. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Darn Bayleef lost she could've held out longer if not for the poison." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"True but even if she wasn't poisoned, she still wouldn't have been able to dodge Lopunny's Acrobatics as Lopunny was just too fast." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Ash returns Bayleef back to her Pokeball telling her thank you and to get a good rest. Ash then puts the ball back on his belt then looks at Lopunny and begins to think.

"Similar to Marina's Lopunny Whitney's not only very fast but strong to but I think I have the perfect Pokémon to deal with it." Ash says to himself as he pulls out his next Pokeball and speaks.

"Ursaring, I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends out Ursaring. When Ursaring appears, he lets out a mighty roar then looks over at Lopunny with Lopunny looking at him. Whitney looks at Ursaring and speaks.

"An Ursaring's your next choice huh? Are you sure that it's a good choice because my Lopunny is definitely faster than it." Whitney asks as Ash speaks.

"Your Lopunny may be faster, but my Ursaring has some tricks up his sleeve." Ash responds with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Well, you've now piqued my curiosity. Lopunny get ready!" Whitney says with Lopunny nodding as it along with Ursaring get into battle stances. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Ash speaks.

"Let's attack first Ursaring! Use Hyper Beam!" Ash calls. Ursaring roars and fires out a big orange beam from his mouth that heads for Lopunny as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny dodge then use Mach Punch!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as it moves to the right and easily dodges the Hyper Beam. Lopunny's fists glow then shoots forward and reaches Ursaring instantly. When Lopunny goes to punch Ursaring with its left fist Ash speaks.

"Ursaring use Fake Tears!" Ash calls with Ursaring nodding as he begins to cry causing Lopunny to stop as it along with Whitney have confused looks on their faces. Lopunny can feel that its special defense has decreased as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny it's a trap use Mach Punch!" "Ursaring use Baby Doll Eyes!" Both trainers' call. When Lopunny goes to punch Ursaring the bear makes a cutesy face causing Lopunny to stop again as now Lopunny can feel that its physical attack power has decreased too. Whitney speaks.

"Use High Jump Kick!" Whitney calls. Before Ash can call for a command Lopunny's left leg glows red and kicks Ursaring hard across the face causing super effective damage to the bear as Ash speaks.

"Okay Ursaring use Lick!" Ash calls with Ursaring nodding as he smirks then licks Lopunny's left cheek. This causes the bunny to shudder as it quickly jumps back getting away from Ursaring as it lands a few feet away. A few seconds later Lopunny can feel static around its body as it's now paralyzed, surprising Whitney as Ash speaks.

"Everything's now setup. It's time for us to go on the offensive Ursaring!" Ash says with Ursaring nodding as Ash speaks.

"Use Hyper Beam!" Ash calls. Ursaring roars and fires out a large orange beam from his mouth that heads for Lopunny as Whitney speaks.

"Dodge Lopunny!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as it quickly jumps to the right dodging the attack. Ursaring then appears in front of Lopunny and has his claws ready as Ash speaks.

"Use Slash!" "Lopunny use Agility to dodge!" Both trainers' call. Ursaring's claws glow white and goes to slash Lopunny. When Lopunny tries to use Agility, it can't because of the paralysis restricting its movements. This allows for Ursaring to slash Lopunny causing damage to the mon as Ursaring then gets his right fist ready Ash speaks.

"Use Hammer Arm!" "Lopunny jump back!" Both trainers' call. Ursaring's right arm glows white and goes to punch Lopunny, the bunny quickly jumps back dodging the attack as Whitney speaks.

"Use Mach Punch!" Whitney calls. Lopunny's left fist glows, shoots forward reaches Ursaring instantly and goes to punch him as Ash speaks.

"Ursaring use Double Team!" Ash calls. Ursaring nods as he quickly creates multiple clones of himself easily dodging Lopunny's attack surprising Whitney along with Lopunny as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny use Acrobatics and destroy all of them until you find the real one!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as it glows in blue flying energy and shoots forward as it begins to easily destroy Ursaring's clones. Off to the side Brock speaks.

"Even though it's paralyzed it's still so fast" Brock says while having a surprised look on his face as back on the battlefield Lopunny gets rid of the final clone and sees the real Ursaring. Lopunny shoots forward going to hit the real one as Ash speaks.

"Ursaring fire a Hyper Beam on the ground!" Ash calls making Whitney confused as just when Lopunny's about to hit Ursaring the bear quickly fires out an orange beam on the ground causing him to be propelled high up into the air dodging Lopunny's attack. Whitney along with Lopunny have surprised looks on their faces as when Ursaring gets high enough Ash speaks.

"Okay Ursaring head back towards Lopunny and use Hyper Beam to boost your speed!" Ash calls. Ursaring nods as he looks up and fires out another Hyper Beam that begins propelling him back towards Lopunny at a fast speed as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny quick back away!" Whitney calls with Lopunny nodding as when it goes to move it can't because of the paralysis making Whitney grit her teeth as Ash smiles and speaks.

"Okay Ursaring finish Lopunny off with Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. Over with Ursaring he's closing in on Lopunny as his right arm begins to glow. Ursaring then lets out a mighty roar and punches Lopunny hard in the face knocking the mon into the ground creating a cloud of smoke as Whitney speaks.

"Lopunny!" Whitney calls in worry. When the smoke clears everyone can see Ursaring standing while looking at an unconscious Lopunny the ref speaks.

"Lopunny's unable to battle Ursaring's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Ash, Pikachu and Ursaring to cheer. Off to the side Misty along with her Togetic and Brock cheer too. Back on the battlefield Whitney returns Lopunny back to its Pokeball, tells it thank you and puts the ball away. Whitney then looks over at Ash who's looking at Ursaring, the boy speaks.

"Great job Ursaring I knew you could do it!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu say with Ursaring nodding as Whitney speaks.

"You know Ash I've never seen anyone use an Ursaring like you did against Lopunny as most trainers usually have their Ursaring's either attack head on or take hits." Whitney says with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Well, you see my Ursaring is more like a trickster so while he is really strong, he likes playing tricks in battle to catch his opponents off guard." Ash responds with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"I see so that explains why you called for moves like Fake Tears, Baby Doll Eyes and Lick as I wouldn't be expecting them and those moves did lower Lopunny's stats." Whitney says with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Yep, I feel as though if I didn't call for those attacks the battle would've definitely been harder for Ursaring so I'm happy that it worked out." Ash says with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Well Ash, you're really surprising me a lot in this battle, so I think it's time for me to bring out my next one. Snorlax it's your turn!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends out a shiny Snorlax. When the mon appears, it has a serious look on its face and looks at Ursaring with the bear looking back at it. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"This is my first time seeing a shiny Snorlax." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Me too and it certainly doesn't look like a pushover." Brock says as back on the battlefield Ash looks at Whitney's Snorlax and begins to think.

"Her Snorlax looks strong, but Ursaring should still be fine as he didn't take any damage from Lopunny." Ash says to himself as he looks at Ursaring and speaks.

"Ursaring I'm keeping you in!" Ash says with Ursaring nodding as he along with Snorlax get into battle stances. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Whitney speaks.

"We'll go first! Snorlax use Mega Punch!" Whitney calls with Snorlax nodding as its left fist glows Ash speaks.

"Here it comes Ursaring get ready!" Ash says with Ursaring nodding as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax punch your fist on the ground!" Whitney says making Ash confused as he speaks.

"The ground? Why the ground?" Ash says to himself as Whitney's Snorlax punches the ground causing the entire battlefield to shake. As the field is shaking it's making it hard for Ursaring to keep his balance as Whitney speaks.

"Now Snorlax use Giga Impact!" Whitney calls. Snorlax nods as it covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks and shoots forward heading for Ursaring as Ash speaks.

"Ursaring quick use Double Team!" Ash calls. Ursaring manages to find his footing and quickly creates multiple clones of himself allowing for him to dodge Snorlax's attack as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax use Blizzard!" Whitney calls. Snorlax stops itself as it turns around and fires out a big Blizzard that easily gets rid of Ursaring's clones and connects with the real Ursaring freezing him. Whitney smiles as she calls for her next command.

"Use Giga Impact!" "Ursaring get out of the ice!" Both trainers' call. Unfortunately for Ash Ursaring can't get out of the ice as Snorlax covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks, shoots forward and hits Ursaring breaking him out of the ice. Ursaring groans in pain as Snorlax has its left fist ready, Whitney speaks.

"Now Snorlax use Mega Punch!" Whitney calls. Snorlax's left fist glows and upper cuts Ursaring sending him high into the air as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax get above Ursaring!" Whitney calls. Snorlax jumps high into the air and manages to get above Ursaring as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax finish it with Body Press!" "Ursaring use Hyper Beam!" Both trainers' call. Snorlax showcases its stomach and begins falling towards Ursaring. Ursaring sees Snorlax coming and lets out a roar firing out a big Hyper Beam that makes contact with Snorlax. Unfortunately for Ursaring Snorlax easily bypasses the move as it hits Ursaring causing both mons to crash back down on the battlefield causing it to shake and create a cloud of dust as Ash speaks.

"Ursaring!" Ash calls in worry as when the dust clears everyone sees Snorlax stand up and reveal Ursaring who's knocked out. The ref makes the call.

"Ursaring's unable to battle Snorlax's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Whitney and Snorlax to smile. Off to the side Brock speaks.

"Seeing as Whitney's aware of Ursaring's tricks she first had Snorlax punch the ground with Mega Punch to make Ursaring lose his balance not giving him any time to use moves like Fake Tears or Baby Doll Eyes. Then after missing Giga Impact, she had Snorlax freeze Ursaring with Blizzard then land strong attacks like Giga Impact and Mega Punch to deal damage to Ursaring and ultimately defeat him with a super effective Body Press that also causes more damage based on the user's weight." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Ash returns Ursaring back to his Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and to get a good rest. Ash then looks forward as he pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.

"Snorlax, I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends out his Snorlax. When Snorlax appears, he has a serious look on his face and looks over at Whitney's Snorlax. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Next is going to be a battle between Snorlax's." Misty says with Brock nodding. Back on the battlefield Whitney looks at Ash's Snorlax and speaks.

"You're using a Snorlax next huh? I have to say it looks strong but compared to mine I don't think it stands a chance." Whitney says while having a confident look on her face as Ash speaks.

"Well, we'll just have to show you just have wrong you are. Let's do this Snorlax!" Ash says with Snorlax nodding as he along with Whitney's Snorlax get into battle stances. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax let's knock his Snorlax off balance! Use Mega Punch on the ground!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as its left fist glows and punches the ground causing the battlefield to shake as Ash speaks.

"We're not falling for that again! Snorlax jump in the air to dodge then use Body Slam!" Ash calls. His Snorlax nods as he quickly jumps in the air and avoids the shaking battlefield. Ash's Snorlax has his chest ready and begins falling towards Whitney's Snorlax as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax dodge then use Giga Impact!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as it quickly jumps back avoiding Ash's Snorlax causing the mon to hit the battlefield instead. Once Whitney's Snorlax gets a good distance away it covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks and shoots forward heading for Ash's Snorlax as Ash speaks.

"Snorlax counter with your Giga Impact!" Ash calls. His Snorlax quickly stands up, covers his body in an orange sphere with purple streaks, shoots forward and collides with Whitney's Snorlax. When the two mons collide, they create a big shockwave and begin trying to overpower each other as Whitney speaks.

"Push it back Snorlax!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as it roars putting more power into its Giga Impact and is starting to push Ash's Snorlax back as Ash speaks.

"Snorlax don't let it beat you!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu say with Ash's Snorlax nodding as he roars, putting more power into his Giga Impact as it now matches Whitney's Snorlax in strength. The two mons continue trying to overpower each other until a few seconds later there's an explosion which sends the two sliding a few feet away from each other. Whitney's Snorlax manages to stop itself as Whitney speaks.

"Freeze it with Blizzard!" Whitney calls. Her Snorlax lets out a mighty roar and fires out a big Blizzard that heads for Ash's Snorlax as Ash speaks.

"Snorlax break through it with Rollout!" Ash calls. His Snorlax curls into a ball and begins rolling forward. As Ash's Snorlax is rolling forward he enters the Blizzard, the move tries pushing him back, but Snorlax is easily going through it and is heading for Whitney's Snorlax as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax try to stop it!" Whitney calls. Her Snorlax nods as it stops using Blizzard and readies itself. A few seconds later Ash's Snorlax collides with Whitney's Snorlax and begins pushing the mon back. Whitney's Snorlax struggles at first but once it manages to find its footing it manages to successfully stop itself from being pushed back as Whitney speaks.

"Great Snorlax now use Mega Punch!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as its right fist glows and goes to punch Ash's Snorlax Ash speaks.

"Snorlax use Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. His Snorlax quickly uncurls himself, covers his left arm in white fighting energy and upper cuts Whitney's Snorlax causing super effective damage to the mon. Whitney's Snorlax groans in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Use Counter!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as it gains an orange aura around its body that goes into its right fist and punches Ash's Snorlax hard in the face. Ash's Snorlax groans in pain as Ash speaks.

"Hit it back with Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. His Snorlax nods as he covers his right arm in white fighting energy and punches Whitney's Snorlax hard across the face causing super effective damage. Whitney speaks.

"Use Counter again!" Whitney calls. An orange aura goes into her Snorlax's right fist and upper cuts Ash's Snorlax. This makes Ash's Snorlax angry as he looks at Whitney's Snorlax with Whitney's looking at him as their trainers speak.

"Snorlax keep using Hammer Arm!" "Keep using Counter!" Both trainers call with the two-mons roaring as they begin punching each other repeatedly with each punch they land causing more damage than the last. Whitney's Snorlax is causing more damage to Ash's Snorlax thanks to Whitney's Snorlax using Counter to boost the power of its punches but the punches from Ash's Snorlax still hurt it. The two mons then punch each other hard in the face and begin groaning in pain as Ash speaks.

"Snorlax use Hyper Beam!" Ash calls. His Snorlax lets out a roar and fires out a big orange beam as Whitney speaks.

"Block it Snorlax!" Whitney calls. Her Snorlax nods as it quickly brings up its arms and blocks the attack as the move pushes it back a few feet away. A few seconds later Whitney's Snorlax manages to destroy the Hyper Beam then looks forward and doesn't see Ash's Snorlax as Whitney speaks.

"Above you Snorlax!" Whitney says making her Snorlax look up as it sees Ash's Snorlax in the air Ash speaks.

"Snorlax fall forward using Rollout!" Ash calls with his Snorlax nodding as he curls into a ball and begins falling towards Whitney's Snorlax at a fast speed Whitney speaks.

"Back away Snorlax!" Whitney calls with her Snorlax nodding as it quickly jumps back a few feet away causing Ash's Snorlax to hit the battlefield instead. Ash isn't worried as he speaks.

"Keep going Snorlax!" Ash calls. Out of the smoke appears Ash's Snorlax who rolls forward and hits Whitney's Snorlax causing damage to the mon as Whitney speaks.

"Use Counter!" Whitney calls. Her Snorlax gains an orange outline that goes into its right foot and kicks Ash's Snorlax sending the mon rolling away. Ash's Snorlax uncurls himself and manages to stop. Ash's Snorlax begins to pant heavily as Whitney speaks.

"This is it Snorlax use Giga Impact!" Whitney calls. Her Snorlax lets out a mighty roar as it covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks and shoots forward going to hit Ash's Snorlax. Off to the side Misty along with her Togetic and Brock have worried looks on their faces as over with Ash he isn't worried. Just when Whitney's Snorlax is about to hit Ash's Ash speaks.

"Snorlax it's time for your new move! Use Endure!" Ash says surprising Whitney as over with Ash's Snorlax his body slightly glows and takes Whitney's Snorlax's attack head on. The attack pushes Ash's Snorlax back a few feet away but when he stops, he looks at Whitney's Snorlax and can still battle. Whitney along with her Snorlax have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.

"Great job Snorlax and now it's our turn! Use Hyper Beam!" Ash calls. His Snorlax lets out a roar and fires out a big orange beam that heads for Whitney's Snorlax as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax dodge!" Whitney calls but when she does her Snorlax doesn't move as it's currently in its recharge phase surprising Whitney. A few seconds later the Hyper Beam makes contact with Whitney's Snorlax creating an explosion. Out of the smoke appears Whitney's Snorlax who's groaning in pain Ash speaks.

"Okay Snorlax it's time to finish it off! Use Giga Impact!" Ash calls. His Snorlax lets out a roar as he covers his body in an orange sphere with purple streaks and shoots forward heading for Whitney's Snorlax as Whitney speaks.

"Snorlax look out!" Whitney exclaims but is too late as Ash's Snorlax manages to hit Whitney's Snorlax. Whitney's Snorlax groans in pain as it's then sent flying going passed Whitney and crashing into the wall behind her creating a dust cloud. Whitney looks back and speaks.

"Snorlax!" Whitney calls in worry as when the dust clears it shows Whitney's Snorlax stuck in the wall as a couple seconds later it then falls on its stomach and is knocked out. The ref makes the call.

"Gym Leader Whitney's Snorlax is unable to battle making the Challengers Snorlax the winner!" The ref calls making Ash smile as he speaks.

"Alright! Way to go Snorlax I knew you could do it!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer as Snorlax looks at them and smiles. Over with Whitney she returns her Snorlax back to its Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and puts the ball away. Whitney then looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Well, I wasn't expecting your Snorlax to use Endure." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"I bet as it's a new move that I taught Snorlax after seeing one of my rivals Hau use it in the Orange League. I figured that it would be a great idea to save it at the last minute." Ash responds with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Good idea Ash, but now that I'm aware of it I won't fall for it again." Whitney says as she pulls out her next Pokeball and goes to throw it.

"Ambipom come back out!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends Ambipom back in. Once the mon appears it has a smile on its face and looks at Snorlax with Snorlax looking at it. Over with Ash he begins to think.

"Ambipom's back out during its battle against Heracross I saw not only how fast it is but also how it uses its tails. I need to watch out for those and even though Snorlax is weakened from his battle against Whitney's Snorlax with Endure he should last for a bit longer." Ash says to himself as he looks at Snorlax and speaks.

"Snorlax I'm still keeping you in!" Ash says with Snorlax nodding as he along with Ambipom get into battle stances. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Ash speaks.

"Let's go first Snorlax use Hyper Beam!" Ash calls with Snorlax nodding as when he goes to use the move Whitney speaks.

"Not so fast! Ambipom use Fake Out!" Whitney calls surprising Ash as Ambipom instantly appears in front of Snorlax and claps its hands together causing some damage to Snorlax and making him flinch. Ambipom then gets its tail hands ready as Whitney speaks.

"Now use Double Hit then finish it off with Brick Break!" Whitney calls. Before Ash can call for a command Ambipom's tail hands glow white as it spins around and slaps Snorlax two times across the face. Ambipom then slams its left tail hand hard onto Snorlax's head knocking the mon face first into the ground as Ash speaks.

"Snorlax!" Ash calls in worry as on the battlefield Ambipom lands as it looks forward and sees that Snorlax is knocked out. The ref makes the call. Snorlax's unable to battle Ambipom's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Whitney and Ambipom to cheer as Ambipom does a couple back flips in victory. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Usually attacks like the ones Ambipom used wouldn't have been enough to take down Snorlax." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Unfortunately, he was already worn out from his battle against Whitney's Snorlax and Ash didn't have a chance to call for Endure." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Ash returns Snorlax back to his Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and to get a good rest. Ash puts the ball away as he looks at Ambipom and thinks.

"I could send Heracross back in, but Whitney might have it use Baton Pass again to switch out to another Pokémon. I have two more Pokémon that haven't battled yet and between the two of them there's only one that can take on Ambipom." Ash says to himself as he pulls out his next Pokeball and speaks.

"Feraligatr, I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends out his Feraligatr. Once the mon appears he has a happy look on his face and is excited to battle as he looks at Ambipom with Ambipom looking at him. Over with Silver he continues to watch the battle as suddenly one of his Pokeball's wriggle as his shiny Feraligatr appears. Silver looks at the mon and speaks.

"Are you curious to see how his Feraligatr battles? You should know that it stands no chance against you." Silver says with the mon agreeing with him, but it still wants to watch with Silver allowing it to. Back on the battlefield Whitney looks at Ash's Feraligatr and speaks.

"A Feraligatr's your next Pokémon huh? That's an interesting choice." Whitney says with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Yep, and he's going to take down your Ambipom!" Ash states with Feraligatr agreeing with him and making Whitney smirk. After that Ambipom along with Feraligatr get into battle stances the ref calls for the battle to continue as Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr use Hydro Pump!" Ash calls with Feraligatr nodding as when he goes to use the move Whitney speaks.

"That won't work! Ambipom use Fake Out!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as it shoots forward, appears in front of Feraligatr and claps its hands causing Feraligatr to flinch. Ambipom has its tails ready as Whitney speaks.

"Now Ambipom use Thunder Punch!" Whitney calls with Ambipom nodding as it covers both of its tail hands in electricity and goes to hit Feraligatr Ash speaks.

"Dodge Feraligatr!" Ash calls with Feraligatr nodding as he manages to dodge the attacks by dancing and gets to a safe distance a few feet away surprising Whitney as she speaks.

"Wow I've never seen a Feraligatr dance before." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"My Feraligatr's been dancing ever since he was a Totodile and has won many battles with that fighting style. Now Feraligatr use Hydro Pump" Ash says as Feraligatr fires out a big stream of water from his mouth Whitney speaks.

"Well let me tell you this Ash your Feraligatr isn't going to win this battle. Ambipom use Thunder Punch!" Whitney calls with Ambipom nodding as it covers its two tail hands in electricity and punches the Hydro Pump easily destroying it as Ash speaks.

"Now Feraligatr use Aqua Jet!" Ash calls. Feraligatr covers his body in water, shoots forward and hits Ambipom causing some damage to the mon as Ambipom looks at Feraligatr Whitney speaks.

"Hit it back with Double Hit then Thunder Punch!" Whitney calls. Ambipom's tail hands glow white as it spins around and slaps Feraligatr hard across the face causing damage to him. Ambipom then covers its tail hands in electricity as it upper cuts Feraligatr with its right tail hand then goes to hit Feraligatr with its left tail hand Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr catch it with Ice Punch!" Ash calls. Feraligatr covers his right hand in ice and catches Ambipom's tail as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom hit it with your other tail!" "Catch it Feraligatr!" Both trainers' call. When Ambipom goes to hit Feraligatr with its right tail Feraligatr manages to catch it with his left hand that's covered in ice too. The two mons then begin trying to overpower each other and as they're doing that Ambipom begins to feel cold as it looks at its tails and sees the ice from Feraligatr's hands starting to freeze them. Ambipom and Whitney have surprised looks on their faces as Whitney speaks.

"I see so instead of having his Feraligatr punch Ambipom's tails away he had Feraligatr catch Ambipom's tails so that it can freeze them" Whitney says to herself as back on the battlefield Ambipom's tails are almost fully covered in ice. Over with Ash he has a smile on his face and speaks.

"Okay Feraligatr use Hydro Pump!" Ash calls with Feraligatr nodding as he takes a deep breath and is about to fire the move Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom use Seed Bomb!" Whitney calls surprising Ash as Ambipom quickly spits out a grassy seed from its mouth that hits Feraligatr creating an explosion and make the gator let go of Ambipom's tails. Feraligatr's sent sliding back a few feet away as Whitney speaks.

"Use Thunder Punch!" Whitney calls. Ambipom appears out of the smoke with its tails now thawed out of the ice, covers them in electricity and hits Feraligatr with them causing super effective damage to the gator as Whitney speaks.

"Great now use Focus Punch!" Whitney calls. Before Ash can call for a command Ambipom quickly tightens its focus, covers both of its tail hands in blue fighting energy and punches Feraligatr hard in the stomach making the gator cough in pain but he then grabs Ambipom's tails with his left hand as Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr pull Ambipom close and use Ice Punch!" Ash calls with Feraligatr nodding as he pulls the monkey closer to him, covers his right fist in ice and punches Ambipom hard in the face causing damage to the mon as Ash speaks.

"Now Feraligatr use Hydro Pump!" "Ambipom quick use Substitute!" Both trainers' call. When Feraligatr fires out a big stream of water from his mouth Ambipom quickly creates a clone version of itself that takes the hit instead as the Hydro Pump easily destroys it. Feraligatr then begins looking for the real Ambipom as he then looks up and sees Ambipom high in the air as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom use Work Up then Thunder Punch!" Whitney calls. Ambipom lets out a mighty roar increasing its physical and special attack power. Ambipom covers its tail hands in electricity and shoots down going to punch Feraligatr as Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr back away!" Ash calls. Feraligatr quickly jumps back causing Ambipom to punch the battlefield instead creating a dust cloud. Feraligatr lands a few feet away as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom use Seed Bomb!" Whitney calls. Out of the cloud of dust appears a grassy seed that heads for Feraligatr as Ash speaks.

"Knock it away with Ice Punch!" Ash calls. Feraligatr covers his left fist in ice and punches the grassy seed sending it high into the air as it explodes. When that happens Ambipom appears in front of Feraligatr with its tail hands covered in electricity as Whitney speaks.

"This is it! Hit it with Thunder Punch Ambipom!" Whitney calls with Ambipom nodding as when it goes to punch the gator Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr dodge it!" Ash calls. Feraligatr nods as he manages to easily dodge the attacks Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom don't let up keep going until you hit it!" "Feraligatr keep dodging!" Both trainers' call. When Ambipom goes to hit Feraligatr again the gator manages to easily evade. Ambipom continues trying to hit Feraligatr, but the gator is easily evading and is also dancing as well making it harder for Ambipom to land its attack. This is making Whitney along with Ambipom frustrated as when Feraligatr dodges another one of Ambipom's punches Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom it's time to switch out use Baton Pass!" Whitney calls with Ambipom nodding as it quickly jumps back landing a few feet away and is about to use Baton Pass Ash speaks.

"Oh no you don't! Feraligatr use Aqua Jet!" Ash calls. Feraligatr quickly covers his body in water, shoots forward and hits Ambipom before it can finish using Baton Pass. Feraligatr gets his tail ready as Ash speaks.

"Use Aqua Tail!" "Ambipom quick use Substitute!" Both trainers' call. Unfortunately for Whitney Ambipom can't use Substitute in time as Feraligatr covers his tail in water, spins around and slaps Ambipom hard across the face making the mon groan in pain. After that Feraligatr takes a deep breath as Ash speaks.

"Okay Feraligatr finish it off with Hydro Pump!" Ash calls. Feraligatr lets out a loud roar and fires out a point blank Hydro Pump that consumes Ambipom making the mon cry out in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Ambipom!" Whitney calls in worry as a few seconds later Ambipom lands back on the battlefield a few feet away landing on its back. The mon tries standing back up but ultimately stays down as the ref makes the call.

"Ambipom's unable to battle Feraligatr's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Ash, Pikachu and Feraligatr to cheer as Feraligatr begins doing a victory dance. Off to the side Misty along with her Togetic and Brock let out a cheer. Meanwhile with Silver and his Feraligatr Silver speaks.

"His Feraligatr incorporates dancing whenever it battles? That's stupid but seems to be effective." Silver says with his Feraligatr agreeing with him. Back on the battlefield Whitney returns Ambipom back to its Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and puts the ball away. Whitney looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Your Feraligatr's good Ash but how will it deal with my next Pokemon? Farigiraf it's your turn!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends out a giraffe like Pokémon. The mon has a serious look on its face as Ash speaks.

"What's that?" Ash questions as he pulls out his Pokédex to scan the mon.

"Farigiraf The Long Next Pokémon the fully evolved form of Girafarig and a Normal/Psychic type. The hardened head from the tail protects the head of the main body as Farigiraf whips its long neck around to headbutt enemies. Now that the brain waves from the head and tail are synced up, the psychic power of this Pokémon is 10 times stronger than Girafarig's." The Pokédex says as Ash speaks.

"So, it's a Farigiraf it looks strong but I'm confident that Feraligatr can defeat it." Ash says to himself as he looks at Feraligatr and speaks.

"Let's keep going Feraligatr!" Ash says with the mon nodding as he along with Farigiraf get into battle stances. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Ash speaks.

"Let's attack first Feraligatr use Aqua Jet!" Ash calls with Feraligatr nodding as when he goes to cover his body in water it doesn't work. Ash along with Feraligatr have confused looks on their faces as off to the side Misty speaks.

"Wait why couldn't Feraligatr use Aqua Jet?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"I'm not sure." Brock responds as back on the battlefield Ash calls for Aqua Jet again but Feraligatr's still unable to use the move as Whitney speaks.

"The reason why your Feraligatr's unable to use Aqua Jet is because of Farigiraf's ability Armor Tail." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"What's Armor Tail?" Ash asks as Whitney speaks.

"Armor Tail is an ability that makes priority moves by opposing Pokémon unable to use against the Pokémon with the ability and during a Double Battle if Farigiraf along with one of my other Pokémon are on the field Armor Tail makes opposing Pokémon unable to use their priority moves on not only Farigiraf but her allies as well." Whitney responds with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"So, that explains why Feraligatr can't use Aqua Jet." Ash says with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Yep, and now we'll take this opportunity to attack you. Farigiraf use Psybeam!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf's eyes glow and fires out a psychic beam that heads for Feraligatr as Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr use Crunch!" Ash calls. Feraligatr quickly covers his teeth in dark energy and bites down on the move easily destroying it as Whitney speaks.

"Now Farigiraf use Charge Beam!" Whitney calls surprising Ash as Farigiraf fires out an electric beam that makes contact with Feraligatr causing super effective damage to the mon. Feraligatr looks over at Farigiraf who has gained a special attack increase as Whitney speaks.

"Okay Farigiraf let's increase your special attack power more with Nasty Plot!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as when it goes to use the move Ash speaks.

"Feraligatr quick stop it with Hydro Pump!" Ash calls. Feraligatr quickly fires out a big stream of water towards Farigiraf as Whitney speaks.

"Farigiraf send it back with Psychic and finish using Nasty Plot!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as it sends out a wave of psychic energy that makes contact with the Hydro Pump, catches the move and sends it right back at Feraligatr, hitting the mon in the face. Farigiraf then finishes using Nasty Plot as its special attack power has now sharply increased Whitney speaks.

"Use Charge Beam again!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf fires out an electric beam that heads for Feraligatr as Ash speaks.

"Counter with Dragon Claw!" Ash calls. Feraligatr covers his right claws in green dragon energy and slashes at the electric beam easily destroying it as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Now Farigiraf use Thunder!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf lets out a roar and summons a large electric bolt from the sky that makes contact with Feraligatr and begins shocking him making the mon cry out in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Now Farigiraf finish Feraligatr off with Twin Beam!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf nods as it fires out two beams that hit Feraligatr and gets a critical hit. A few seconds later the Thunder disappears as Feraligatr groans in pain then falls on his stomach knocked out. The ref makes the call.

"Feraligatr's unable to battle Farigiraf's the winner!" The ref calls allowing for Whitney and Farigiraf to smile. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Darn Feraligatr lost and didn't even get to land one hit on Farigiraf." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Farigiraf's ability along with knowing moves like Charge Beam and Thunder caught Ash off guard which made him unable to give Feraligatr proper commands." Brock says with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Ash returns Feraligatr back to his Pokeball, tells the mon thank you and to get a good rest. Ash puts the ball away as he then looks forward and begins to think.

"This Farigiraf's strong but by the looks of it, it doesn't look like a Pokémon that has very high defense since it's mainly been attacking from a distance, so this means that you're the perfect one for this." Ash says while looking at his next Pokeball as he goes to throw it.

"Heracross, come back out!" Ash says as he throws the ball forward and sends Heracross back in. Once Heracross appears he pants a little bit but is ready to battle and looks at Farigiraf with the mon looking at him. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Heracross is back out and looks a little tired." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Well, he did battle against Dudunsparce, Ambipom and Lopunny before who did a lot of damage to Heracross. I'm betting that Ash is hoping to use Heracross's speed to win this battle quickly." Brock says with Misty nodding as they continue to watch. Back on the battlefield Whitney looks at Ash's Heracross and speaks.

"Seems like your Heracross is pretty tired." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"That may be true, but my Heracross has a lot of guts and can keep going! Isn't that right Heracross?!" Ash says with the mon nodding, making Whitney smile as she speaks.

"Okay I'm curious in seeing just how much "Guts" your Heracross has. Farigiraf use Charge Beam!" Whitney calls as the mon quickly fires out an electric beam Ash speaks.

"Heracross use Megahorn!" Ash calls. Heracross quickly covers his horn in green bug energy and collides with the beam. When he does the beam pushes him back a little bit, but Heracross manages to destroy it, surprising Whitney as she speaks.

"Not bad but we're not done yet. Farigiraf use Thunder!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf summons a large electric bolt from the sky that heads for Heracross as Ash speaks.

"Dodge Heracross then use Aerial Ace!" Ash calls. Heracross quickly moves to the left and easily dodges the electric bolt. Heracross then shoots forward at a fast speed going to hit Farigiraf as Whitney speaks.

"Block it with Protect!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf quickly summons a protective barrier causing Heracross to crash into it, making Ash grit his teeth as Whitney speaks.

"Now use Thunder Wave!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf roars and fires out 5 rings of electricity that connect with Heracross causing him to fall landing on his stomach. Heracross can feel electricity flowing throughout his body as Whitney speaks.

"Okay now's time for us to end this. Farigiraf use Thunder!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as it lets out a roar summoning a large electric bolt from the sky that goes to hit Heracross as over with Ash he smiles and speaks.

"You just made a big mistake Whitney." Ash says making Whitney confused as Ash speaks.

"Heracross destroy the Thunder with Megahorn!" Ash calls. Over with Heracross just when the Thunder's about to hit him Heracross covers his horn in green bug energy, stands back up and easily destroys the Thunder. Whitney along with Farigiraf have surprised looks on their faces as Whitney speaks.

"But how?" Whitney questions as she then takes a closer look at Heracross seeing that his eyes are crimson red and speaks.

"Wait your Heracross has the Guts ability?!" Whitney asks with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Yep, paralyzing Heracross made his attack power increase and now it's time for us to win this battle! Heracross use Megahorn!" Ash calls. Heracross nods as his horn glows in green bug energy and goes to hit Farigiraf as Whitney speaks.

"Quick use Protect!" "Heracross break through it with Feint!" Both trainers' call. Farigiraf quickly summons a protective barrier to block Heracross's attack as Heracross's horn glows white and hits the barrier easily destroying it. Whitney along with Farigiraf are surprised as Ash speaks.

"Now use Focus Punch!" Ash calls. Heracross concentrates a lot of energy into his left fist and upper cuts Farigiraf causing damage to the mon as Ash speaks.

"Great now hit it with Megahorn!" Ash calls. Heracross's horn glows in green bug energy and hits Farigiraf hard across the face causing super effective damage to the mon as Ash speaks.

"Great job Heracross! Now use Focus Punch!" Ash calls with Heracross nodding as when he goes to punch Farigiraf with his right fist he stops because of the paralysis surprising Ash as Whitney smiles and speaks.

"Looks like your luck just ran out Ash. Farigiraf hold Heracross in place with Psychic then use Thunder!" Whitney calls. Farigiraf nods as it sends out a wave of psychic energy that connects with Heracross holding him in place and doing damage to the mon. Farigiraf then summons a large electric bolt from the sky that begins shocking Heracross making the beetle cry out in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Yes, just a little bit more Farigiraf!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as it increases the power of its Thunder more shocking Heracross more intensely as when he's about to faint Ash speaks.

"Heracross don't give up! Show Them Your GUTS!" "PIKA!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer as Heracross hears them then gets a serious look on his face and yells.

"HERA! CROOOOOSSSSS!" Heracross lets out a mighty yell as he manages to break out of not only the Thunder but the Psychic as well. Whitney and Farigiraf are surprised as over with Heracross he has his fists ready as Ash speaks.

"Heracross use Close Combat!" "Farigiraf quick blow it away with Twin Beam!" Both trainers' call. Unfortunately for Whitney Farigiraf's unable to use its move in time as Heracross begins punching Farigiraf repeatedly with each hit hurting more than the last causing more damage. Heracross then punches Farigiraf hard in the face one more time with his right fist. Farigiraf groans in pain as a few seconds later it falls on its right side knocked out as the ref makes the call.

"Farigiraf's unable to battle Heracross is the winner!" The ref calls making Ash smile as he speaks.

"Yeah, way to go Heracross!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer with Heracross smiling at them but then a few seconds later Heracross falls on his stomach and is knocked out as well. Ash has a surprised look on his face as the ref speaks.

"Heracross is unable to battle!" The ref calls. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"Looks like Heracross put all of his remaining energy into that final Close Combat." Misty says with Brock agreeing with her as he speaks.

"And now they both have one Pokémon left." Brock says as back on the battlefield Whitney returns Farigiraf and Ash returns Heracross back to their Pokeball's. They both tell the mons thank you then put the balls away as Whitney looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Well Ash I have to say you're a really skilled trainer to have pushed me this far but now that I'm down to my last Pokémon my victory is guaranteed. Miltank Come Out!" Whitney says as she throws the ball forward and sends out her Miltank. When the mon appears, it has a smile on its face and is waiting for its opponent to appear as Ash speaks.

"Just like I thought her last Pokémon is Miltank meaning that it's finally your turn." Ash says to himself while looking at his final Pokeball as he goes to throw it.

"Rhyperior, I Choose You!" Ash says as he throws the ball high in the air and sends the mon out. Once Rhyperior appears she lands on the battlefield causing it to shake and lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave showcasing her power. Rhyperior then looks at Miltank with the mon looking at her. Whitney looks at Rhyperior and speaks.

"So, a Rhyperior's your final Pokémon huh? I have to say it looks strong, but it stands no chance against Miltank." Whitney says with Miltank agreeing with her as Ash speaks.

"We'll see about that. Let's do this Rhyperior!" Ash says with Rhyperior nodding as she along with Miltank get into battle stances the ref speaks.

"This is the final battle both trainers have one Pokémon left! Whoever defeats their opponents Pokémon first will be declared the winner!" The ref says with Ash and Whitney nodding as the ref continues to speak.

"Now let the final battle begin!" The ref says as on the battlefield Ash along with Whitney stare at each other waiting to see who'll make the first move. A few seconds later Whitney speaks.

"Let's do this Miltank! Get in close with Rollout!" Whitney calls with Miltank nodding as it curls into a ball and begins rolling forward heading for Rhyperior as Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior use Stone Edge!" Ash calls. Rhyperior roars as she summons multiple large sharp stones around herself and shoots them at the incoming Miltank. Whitney speaks.

"Dodge Miltank!" Whitney calls. On the battlefield Miltank continues to roll and is easily evading the sharp stones. Once Miltank dodges all of them it continues heading for Rhyperior as Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior when Miltank gets close use Hammer Arm!" Ash calls with Rhyperior nodding as when Miltank's getting closer Rhyperior covers her right arm in white energy and goes to punch Miltank as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank make a sharp turn to the right!" Whitney calls with Miltank nodding as it does just that and dodges Rhyperior's attack making the mon punch the battlefield instead. Miltank's now on Rhyperior's left side as Whitney speaks.

"Use High Horsepower!" Whitney calls. Miltank uncurls itself as it jumps forward, gains an orange outline and punches Rhyperior hard across the face causing super effective damage to her as Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior hit it back with Hammer Arm!" "Dodge Miltank and use Rollout again!" Both trainers' call. When Rhyperior goes to hit Miltank with her right fist Miltank manages to jump away, curls itself into a ball and lands back on the battlefield. Miltank then begins rolling around Rhyperior with the mon trying to keep track of it as Ash speaks.

"Her Miltank's fast how can I get it to slow down?" Ash says to himself as he then looks at the holes that were left by Dudunsparce, gets an idea and speaks.

"That's it." Ash says to himself as he looks at Rhyperior and speaks.

"Rhyperior use Dig!" Ash calls with Rhyperior nodding as she quickly digs underground making Miltank come out of its ball like state as Whitney speaks.

"Hiding underground won't keep your Rhyperior safe Ash! Miltank use Earthquake!" Whitney calls with Miltank nodding as when it goes to stomp on the ground Ash speaks.

"Out of the ground Rhyperior!" Ash says as a couple seconds later Rhyperior shoots out of the ground and is now high in the air as Whitney speaks.

"Being in the air won't keep it safe either! Jump after it Miltank and use High Horsepower!" Whitney calls with the mon nodding as it jumps in the air, gains an orange outline and is heading for Rhyperior. Ash then speaks.

"Rhyperior use Scorching Sands!" Ash calls. Rhyperior creates a ball of sand and punches it towards Miltank as Whitney speaks.

"Dodge Miltank and keep heading for Rhyperior!" Whitney calls with Miltank nodding as it easily dodges the attack and continues heading for Rhyperior causing the ball of sand to enter the hole that Rhyperior appeared out of. Ash then speaks.

"Rhyperior counter with Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. Rhyperior's right arm glows white as she falls forward and collides with Miltank creating an explosion. Out of the smoke appears Miltank and Rhyperior who land safely back on the ground and are looking at each other as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank use Earthquake!" "Jump Rhyperior!" Both trainers' call. When Miltank stomps on the ground the battlefield begins to shake. Rhyperior quickly jumps and avoids the attack. Then when the shaking stops Rhyperior lands back on the ground as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank use Rollout!" Whitney calls. Miltank curls into a ball and begins heading for Rhyperior again as Ash speaks.

"Come on." Ash says and just when Miltank's about to pass one of Dudunsparce's holes suddenly a big stream of hot sand appears out of the hole making Miltank quickly turn away from it surprising Whitney as she speaks.

"What?!" Whitney says as when Miltank's about to keep going more and more hot sand appears from out of the holes that Dudunsparce and Rhyperior created surprising everyone while Ash smiles. Off to the side Misty speaks.

"What did Ash just do?" Misty asks as Brock thinks for a few seconds and speaks.

"Let's see from what I'm understanding I think Ash had Rhyperior create a Sand Geyser." Brock says as Misty speaks.

"A Sand Geyser?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"Yes, a Sand Geyser is a geologic phenomenon that occur with Earthquakes and any other seismic events that can cause sand from the ground to shoot up like a Geyser." Brock says as Misty speaks.

"Wait so when Ash had Rhyperior use Scorching Sands it wasn't to harm Miltank but to get it into the hole?" Misty asks with Brock nodding as he speaks.

"Yes, as when Miltank used Earthquake it caused the Scorching Sand to stir and burst out of the holes that Dudunsparce and Rhyperior made creating hot sand and making Miltank slow down while using Rollout." Brock says with Misty nodding as back on the battlefield Miltank tries to roll forward but can't because if it gets too close to the hot sand, it'll burn its body. Miltank's now rolling in circles as Whitney speaks.

"So, this was your plan." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"Miltank's very fast will using Rollout, so I got the idea to use a Geyser after seeing one back on Navel Island in the Orange Islands. But instead of it being water it's sand." Ash says with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Smart idea Ash but a Sand Geyser still isn't enough to stop Miltank. Miltank use Work Up then Hyper Beam!" Whitney calls. Miltank stops rolling as it roars increasing its physical attack and special attack. Miltank then fires out a large orange beam that easily gets rid of the Geyser's and is now heading for Rhyperior as Ash speaks.

"Dodge Rhyperior then use Drill Run!" Ash calls. Rhyperior nods as she quickly moves to the left dodging the beam as it hits the wall behind Ash creating an explosion. Rhyperior turns into a drill and shoots forward heading for Miltank as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank counter with Giga Impact!" Whitney calls. Miltank covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks, shoots forward and collides with Rhyperior creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears the two mons who're sliding away from each other as Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior use Rock Wrecker!" Ash calls. Rhyperior roars as she creates a giant rock and shoots it at Miltank as Whitney speaks.

"Dodge Miltank then use High Horsepower!" Whitney calls. Miltank easily dodges the attack then shoots forward, gains an orange outline and punches Rhyperior hard in the face with its left fist as Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior use Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. Rhyperior's left arm glows in white energy and punches Miltank hard in the stomach causing super effective damage and making Miltank cough in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank use Iron Tail!" Whitney calls. Miltank manages to recover as it covers its tail in steel energy, spins around and slaps Rhyperior hard across the face causing super effective damage to her as Ash speaks.

"Megahorn Rhyperior!" Ash calls. Rhyperior's horn glows in green bug energy and hits Miltank causing more damage to the mon making it groan in pain as Ash speaks.

"Now use Hammer Arm!" Ash calls. Before Whitney can call for a command Rhyperior's right arm glows white and punches Miltank hard in the face knocking it on the ground and causing it to bounce. Miltank looks at Rhyperior and begins to take a deep breath as Whitney speaks.

"Hyper Beam Miltank!" "Block Rhyperior!" Both trainers' call. Miltank lets out a mighty roar firing out a large orange beam from its mouth. Rhyperior quickly brings up her arms and blocks the attack as it sends her sliding back a few feet away. Then when the beam goes away Rhyperior looks at Miltank with the mon looking at her as they begin to pant a little bit Misty speaks.

"Looks like they're both tired." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Yeah, they landed heavy blows on each other, and it seems like this battle might end soon." Brock says as back on the battlefield Whitney looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Your Rhyperior's really giving my Miltank a workout Ash, so I think it's time for me to use this." Whitney says as she reaches into her right pocket and pulls out a Z Ring. Ash along with his friends have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.

"Is that a Z Ring?" Ash asks with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Yep, I got this a couple months ago when I took on the trial on Melemele Island in the Alola region. Inside it contains the Normalium Z which combined with Miltank's strongest physical move Giga Impact makes it a powerful attack that not many trainers can beat. Your friend Leaf's Poliwrath almost got knocked out from this attack so I'm curious in seeing how your Rhyperior fairs." Whitney says as she places the ring on her left wrist then looks at Miltank and speaks.

"Miltank you ready?!" Whitney asks with the mon nodding making Whitney smile as she crosses her arms causing the Z move to glow as off to the side Misty speaks.

"This isn't good if that attack lands Rhyperior may not be able to take it." Misty says in concern as Brock looks over at Ash and speaks.

"Ash, you got to make sure Rhyperior survives that attack!" Brock says with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Right! Rhyperior let's increase your defense with Iron Defense!" Ash calls. Rhyperior lets out a roar and sharply increases her physical defense power as Whitney speaks.

"You can increase Rhyperior's defense all you want but it still won't be enough to save it from this attack. Miltank! Run through the field and leave nothing in your way!" Whitney says as she along with Miltank begin doing synchronized poses as when they're done lights from the Z Ring flow into Miltank making the mon feel strong as Whitney speaks.

"Get ready Ash because here we come! MILTANK! USE BREAKNECK BLITZ!" Whitney exclaims as Miltank lets out a mighty roar its body becomes surrounded by an orange aura as it then begins running forward at a fast speed with every step Miltank takes causing not only the battlefield but the entire building to shake as Ash speaks.

"RHYPERIOR USE STONE EDGE!" Ash yells with Rhyperior letting out a mighty roar as she slams her hands on the battlefield creating large stone pillars that head for Miltank as Whitney speaks.

"BREAK THROUGH THEM MILTANK!" Whitney calls with Miltank nodding as it curls into a ball and begins rolling forward at a fast speed, easily breaking through the stone pillars. Ash then speaks.

"Miltank's about to collide with Rhyperior in a few seconds I need to raise her defenses one more time." Ash says to himself as he looks at Rhyperior and speaks.

"RHYPERIOR USE IRON DEFEANSE AGAIN AND BRACE YOURSELF!" Ash exclaims. Rhyperior lets out a mighty roar as she increases her physical defense again and readies herself. A few seconds later Miltank bursts through the final Stone Edge and hits Rhyperior hard in the stomach making the mon cough in pain. Miltank begins pushing Rhyperior back as Ash speaks.

"RHYPERIOR SLAM YOUR TAIL INTO THE GROUND!" Ash calls with Rhyperior nodding as she manages to slam her tail into the ground, allowing for her to stop being pushed back as Whitney speaks.

"Nice try Ash but that won't work! MORE POWER MILTANK!" Whitney exclaims as Miltank begins spinning faster and faster making it harder for Rhyperior to hold on as a few seconds later Rhyperior's tail is lifted from the ground allowing for Miltank to continue pushing Rhyperior as they go pass Ash and are now heading for the wall behind him as Whitney speaks.

"YEAH, THAT'S IT MILTANK KEEP GOING!" "RHYPERIOR USE ROCK WRECKER!" Both trainers exclaim. As Miltank continues pushing Rhyperior the drill mon can see that they're almost at the wall as Rhyperior creates a large boulder lets out a mighty roar and hits Miltank as they then crash into the wall creating a big explosion that causes the whole building to shake and creates a strong gust of wind as Ash speaks.

"RHYPERIOR!" Ash yells in worry as when the shaking stops everyone looks forward and sees a big cloud of smoke. Then when the smoke clears it shows Rhyperior leaning against the wall seemingly knocked out with Miltank looking at her while panting heavily. Off to the side Misty along with her Togetic and Brock have surprised looks on their faces as Misty speaks.

"Is it over?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"I hate to say it, but I think so." Brock says while having a sad look on his face as over with Whitney she has a smile on her face and speaks.

"Alright We Won!" Whitney says happily as over with Silver and his Feraligatr they both have disappointed looks on their faces and go to leave. Over with Ash and Pikachu they both have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.

"No, it's not over yet. You can still battle right Rhyperior…...?" Ash asks while looking over at the mon with Pikachu having a sad look on his face. Then just when the ref is about to call the match Ash sees Rhyperior looking at Ash asking him to call for a command. Ash gets a big smile on his face and speaks.

"Rhyperior use Stone Edge!" Ash calls. Rhyperior slams her left hand hard on the ground as suddenly a large sharp stone appears from under Miltank jabbing the mon hard in the stomach and sends the mon high into the air. Everyone has surprised looks on their faces as Whitney speaks.

"WHAT?!" Whitney says in shock as Brock speaks.

"I see when Rhyperior used Rock Wrecker on Miltank it must have moved Miltank slightly which allowed for Rhyperior to not take too much damage when she got slammed into the wall. Also, Ash having Rhyperior raise her defense sharply with Iron Defense helped too." Brock says with Misty nodding as she along with Togetic begin to cheer. Meanwhile, back to Miltank the mon continues flying through the air until it comes crashing back down on the battlefield landing on its stomach as Whitney speaks.

"Miltank are you okay?!" Whitney asks with the mon nodding as it groans in pain and begins trying to stand back up Ash speaks.

"Rhyperior this is our chance! Use Drill Run!" Ash calls. Rhyperior lets out a roar as she quickly turns into a drill, shoots forward and hits Miltank causing damage to it. Miltank groans in pain as Whitney speaks.

"Hit it back with High Horsepower!" Whitney calls. Miltank looks at Rhyperior gains an orange outline on its body and hits Rhyperior hard on the head with its left fist knocking Rhyperior into the ground and causing super effective damage as Whitney speaks.

"MILTANK USE BODY PRESS!" "DIG RHYPERIOR!" Both trainers' call. Miltank goes to slam its body on Rhyperior as the drill mon quickly digs underground avoiding Miltank's attack and causing the mon to hit the battlefield instead. A few seconds later Rhyperior appears out of the ground and hits Miltank, sending the mon high into the air as Ash speaks.

"THIS IS IT! RHYPERIOR USE SCORCHING SANDS!" "MILTANK DODGE!" Both trainers' call. Rhyperior lets out a mighty roar as she creates a ball of sand in front of her and punches it with her right fist sending it towards Miltank. Miltank sees the attack coming and can't dodge in time as the attack hits Miltank creating an explosion as Whitney speaks.

"MILTANK!" Whitney calls in worry as out of the smoke appears Miltank who falls back on the battlefield and lands on its stomach. Everyone looks over at Miltank to see if it can still battle as Rhyperior looks on while panting heavily. The ref takes a closer look at Miltank, sees that it's knocked out and speaks.

"Miltank's unable to battle Rhyperior's the winner! Seeing as Gym Leader Whitney has no more Pokémon left the victory goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!" The ref calls making Ash smile as he speaks.

"ALL! RIGHT!" "PIKA!" Ash along with Pikachu let out a loud cheer while Rhyperior roars in victory. Off to the side Misty, Togetic, and Brock cheer too as Misty speaks.

"They did it!" "Tic!" Misty along with Togetic say happily as Brock speaks.

"I was worried there a few times." Brock says with Misty agreeing with him. Over with Silver and his Feraligatr they continue to watch while still having stoic expressions on their faces with Silver slightly smirking with his Feraligatr noticing but not saying anything. Back on the battlefield Whitney's sad that she lost letting out a sigh but then shrugs her shoulders as she doesn't mind. She then returns her Miltank back to her Pokeball telling the mon that it along with Whitney's other Pokémon did great. Meanwhile, over with Ash and Pikachu they've made it over to Rhyperior and give the mon a hug as Ash speaks.

"Great job Rhyperior I knew you could do it!" "Pika!" Ash along with Pikachu say happily making Rhyperior smile as a few seconds later Ash feels his Pokeball's wriggle as Heracross, Feraligatr, Snorlax, Bayleef and Ursaring appear from their Pokeball's. Ash looks at them and speaks.

"You guys did amazing too. Thank you!" Ash says making the 5-mons smile as they also congratulate Rhyperior making the mon happy. After that Misty along with Togetic and Brock run over and congratulate Ash along with his Pokémon making them smile. As they're talking out of the corner of Ash's eye, he sees Silver along with his Feraligatr outside. When Ash tries to get a better look, he sees that the two of them are gone. The others have confused looks on their faces as Misty speaks.

"What's wrong Ash did you see something?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.

"I thought I saw Silver and his Feraligatr." Ash responds surprising the two kids as Misty speaks.

"Why would Silver be here?" Misty asks as Brock speaks.

"Do you think he watched your gym battle?" Brock asks as Ash speaks.

"I don't know but if he did, I guess he is pretty interested in me after all." Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as a few seconds later Whitney makes it over to them as she looks at Ash and speaks.

"That was a great battle you gave me along with my Pokémon Ash I was sure that Miltank's Z Move would've defeated your Rhyperior for sure." Whitney says as Ash speaks.

"Yeah, my Pokémon and I enjoyed the battle too. I also thought that Rhyperior fainted to but I'm happy that I called for Rock Wrecker when I did because I probably would've lost." Ash says with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"True but I also think that if you didn't your Rhyperior still could've kept battling as during the battle I could feel just how much your Pokémon wanted to win this battle for you." Whitney says making Ash along with his Pokémon smile as Ash speaks.

"Thank you" Ash says with Whitney nodding as she then reaches into her right pocket pulls out a badge and speaks.

"This is called the Plain Badge and it's proof of you defeating my gym congratulations." Whitney says as she hands the badge to Ash making the boy look at it as he speaks.

"Alright! We Just Got the Plain Badge!" "Pi, Pika, Chu!" Ash along with Pikachu cheer with Ash's other Pokémon cheering as well. Then when that's done Whitney looks at Ash and speaks.

"By the way Ash do you know which gym you're going to head too next?" Whitney asks as Ash responds saying that he doesn't know with Whitney nodding as she speaks.

"Well, I suggest you head to the gym in Ecruteak City where the gym leader there uses strong ghost type Pokémon." Whtiney says as Ash speaks.

"The Ecruteak Gym huh? Sounds perfect I'll go there next what do you say Misty, Brock?" Ash says as Misty speaks.

"Sure, I don't mind." Misty says as Brock speaks.

"Me neither as there's also a few towns along the way that we can visit to either rest or stock up on supplies." Brock says with Ash nodding as he speaks.

"Great then we have our next destination Ecruteak City here we come!" Ash cheers along with everyone else. After that once Ash returns his Pokémon other than Pikachu back to their Pokeball's he along with the others are about to head out of the gym but before they go Whitney gives the group a few bottles of Moomoo Milk for the road making the group happy as they tell her thank you and leave the gym. Once the group make it to the Pokémon Center Ash hands the 6 mons he used in the battle to Nurse Joy and Blissey who begin to heal his Pokémon. As they're waiting for them to be healed, they see a poster that mentions something called a Pokéathlon where it tests Pokémon's speed, power, skill, stamina and jump abilities. This makes the group curious as they decide that before they leave Goldenrod City, they'll go check it out tomorrow. They then hear a ding and go over to Nurse Joy who hands Ash his Pokeball's as the group then go to their room and go to sleep for the night.

We now cut over to Silver along with his Feraligatr as they continue to walk Silver's thinking about Ash's battle with Whitney and speaks.

"While his battle was slightly impressive compared to me, he's still weak." Silver says to himself with his Feraligatr nodding as Silver then returns Feraligatr back to its Pokeball then pulls out another Pokeball and speaks.

"Corviknight come out!" Silver says as he throws the ball forward and sends out his shiny Corviknight. The mon has a serious look on its face as Silver gets on its back and speaks.

"Let's go." Silver says with the mon nodding as it begins to fly in the air leaving the city. Meanwhile, following them is Domino who's wearing a jetpack and is making sure that Silver doesn't notice her as they fly into the night. It's now the next day and the group are at the place where the Pokéathlon is taking place as Ash speaks.

"Alright let's go." Ash says with Misty and Brock nodding as they walk inside the building the chapter comes to an end.
