Chapter 57: Dragon Queen!
This sunny morning, was dyed red with crimson as a sensation of despair fell over the land. The source of this power, Irene Belserion, the mightiest woman in the Twelve and all of the Empire. Irene's eyes glared at the three foes before her, Erza Scarlet, Itachi Uchiha although a wood clone still held a significant amount of power given from the original, and little Wendy Marvel. "All three of you are a part of Fairy Tail…" Irene noted as she spotted each of their individual guild mark. "The guild of Mavis Vermillion, the only one in the last century to have humiliated me." Clutching her grip onto her staff, Irene waved it towards the three unleashing waves of scarlet energy.
Itachi leapt ahead of Erza and Wendy, his eyes flashing as he forms the spectral warrior that is the Susano'o. The roaring giant gaining legs and a suite of armor, and wings to shield Itachi, Erza and Wendy from Irene's attacks.
With a mighty push of its wings, the Susano'o unleashed a mighty shockwave that obliterated Irene's attacks and sent a wave of erasure throughout the battlefield. Irene smirked, walking through the wave of erasure as corpses, woods and the terrain all burnt to ash. Irene walked through the blast unharmed.
Erza clicked her teeth, and jumped out of the head of the Susano'o. "Erza!" Itachi called for his adoptive younger sister, as she leapt with her swords drawn. Wendy outstretching her arms, adding boosts to Erza's speed, the strength of her arms and legs.
"Argh!" Erza let out a war cry, slashing her blade at Irene's neck only to be met with a wall of crimson energy. Erza continued in her relentless assault, dual wielding as she slashed her blades with the ferocity of a raging beast. Each strike carrying power to obliterate entire mountains.
"My, oh my~" Irene playfully gasped, flicking her fingers at the exact space where Erza's blade would hit, creating these crimson barrier walls to hold off her attacks. "I must say I am disappointed. For you not to have adapted my magic style." Irene flicked her finger into Erza's abdomen, launching a magic bullet that had Erza's face twitch in pain as she was launched flying backwards. Bouncing against the rocky surface, Erza bounced all the way into Itachi's Susano'o.
"What the hell…!" Erza panted, blood already pouring from a cut on her forehead. "Are you talking about?!" Jumping back into the fight, despite Itachi's protests, Erza rushed head first towards Irene.
Irene sighed, blocking off Erza's sharp blade with her staff. The wooden staff, holding off the force of Erza's blade. "She used an enchantment!" Wendy pointed out, as the durability of this wooden staff was more powerful than Erza's blades.
"Worthless." Irene thrusted the end of her staff towards Erza.
"Erza-san! Look out! That staff is sharper than your blade as well!" Wendy warned, and Erza on instinct quickly ducked to avoid the thrust of Irene's staff. Spinning her body, Erza swung her blade into the side of Irene's abdomen. Only for her strike to be held back by Irene's bare hand.
"Tch!" Irene clicked her tongue, seeing her glove torn to shred from catching Erza's blades. "I liked that glove…" Irene pouted as with a wave of her hand, the ground beneath Erza exploded, turning into an erupting volcano. "Huh?" Irene gasped, seeing Erza shoot herself out into the air from the burning smoke.
"Heaven's Wheel!" Having changed into her Heaven's Wheel armor, Erza had a hundred blades floating around her. "Blumenblatt!" Her hundred blades rained down towards Irene.
"Erza, careful she's not-" Itachi spoke to warn her, but his sister sternly replied back.
"I know. She's not someone that could be taken down by that." Erza glared into the smoke, seeing the silhouette of Irene coming into view.
"My, my, I must say I am pleasantly surprised. To telekinetically control so many blades with such precision is no small feat~" The slow clapping of Irene came from the smoke, as she applauded Erza for her efforts. "For that, you get a flower kiddo~" Irene giggled, as she had changed the trajectory of Erza's own blades to make into the shape of a flower around Irene.
"No way! How did she?" Wendy backed up in disbelief.
"She's screwing around with me." Erza seemed pissed off, unable to even reach the swords surrounding Irene with her telekinetic ability. It was like they had been taken over, and obeyed a new master now.
"But still… I am disappointed. Despite having your ability enhanced to this extent by an enchanter. And this is the best you can do, Erza?" Irene's mere presence, had the swords around her all melt. "Once again, you disappoint me."
"Identify yourself at once fiend!" Erza roared at the Spriggan woman, who lightly flinched.
"You still haven't figured it out yet?" Irene asked with genuine surprise.
"Erza…" Itachi leapt out from his Perfect Susano'o, as it faded away. "I think… She's your mother." Itachi revealed, having guessed that the moment Irene and Erza came face to face.
"What?" Erza asked with mild shock, Itachi had honestly expected more.
"My, such a smart boy. You, deserve a gold star~" With a mere suggestive move of her finger, Irene launched a blast from the heavens. A red star beam of energy blasting down. Itachi lightly twitched his body, as he instantly reformed the upper body of his Susano'o, as it blocked off the beam with the Yata Mirror. Nullifying the entire meaning of Irene's attack, as it lost all its properties and was negated into nothingness.
Irene chuckled, as she slowly approached them. "My name, is Irene Belserion, I am your mother, Erza. And, judging by your lack of shock… perhaps deep down you already realized, Erza." Irene taunted; her eyes filled with a mix of emotions as she gazed upon her only daughter.
Erza stared back at her birth mother, her eyes already steeled and not showing any hint of feeling. "I know nothing of the likes of you." Erza coldly spat out her words, causing even Irene to flinch. "The reason for my lack of shock is simple… Even if you are my birth mother, it means nothing to me." Erza was not like Gray or Natsu, who had known and lost their respective parents. She was not like Itachi, forced to part ways with his parents by his own hand. This, was the first time Erza ever laid eyes on her mother probably since the day of her birth. She had no bond with her.
Erza glared at Irene, with the image of seeing the strong glimmering back of Makarov flashing before her eyes. Erza then clenched her fists in anger, as she remembered the loss of Makarov. "I only have one parent. His name was Makarov Dreyar."
At hearing this, Itachi lightly cracked a warm smile. Irene then sighed with mild disappointment. "Well, I don't particularly mind. In truth I am also rather indifferent over having a daughter." Irene sighed, although her voice carried a weight with it that had Itachi raise a brow. "But the fact that fate led us to meet in such circumstances, is quite unfortunate for you."
Erza responded to her mother's threat with a glare of her own. "If someone threatens my guild, whoever they may be. I will strike them down with all my might."
Irene cracked a smile. "Well said…" She tapped her staff onto the ground, causing the entire nation to tremble before her aura. "Truth be told, I originally thought you might be an excellent candidate to replace one of the Twelve you lot have killed in this war. After all, you are of my blood. So, I had assumed you would have great power. But I've changed my mind…" Irene raised her head, and glared at Erza. "I can see now there is no point in convincing you. And any enemy to the Empire… shall perish before my might. Even if that someone happens to be my own child."
"Erza, take a deep breath and calm down." Itachi advised, as he could see Erza was trembling with rage. "We'll take her together, don't rush in alone."
"Alright, onii-san." Erza nodded, and rushed in together with Itachi. Itachi's Rinnegan flaring with great power, while Erza steeled herself as she requipped into her Armadura Fairy Armor. The pink layered armor carrying a great deal of destructive power.
"Onii-san?" Irene looked baffled, but her confusion was short lasted as she had to go into action. Itachi had entered Stage 1 of his Demon transformation, gaining black flame marks over his body. Itachi reeled back his fist and threw a heavy hit towards Irene, who blocked it off with her magical staff. "Ugh!" Irene grunted, feeling the weight of the hit, as her staff began cracking. "Weapon Enhancement!" Irene's magical staff glowed, and was also restored from any damage.
Erza came jumping up from behind Itachi, her blade charging up an intense voltage of green energy. "Fairy Burst!" Thrusting her blade forward, Erza launched a cannon wave of energy that clashed into Irene.
"Ugh!" Irene grunted, holding back the blast with one hand, as the heels of her feet were dragged backwards for miles. "Peculiar, I don't recall giving birth to a son!" Irene unleashed a pulsating wave of energy, counteracting Erza's attack.
"Like Master Makarov! Itachi raised me! And looked out for me ever since we escaped that tower!" Erza and Itachi both rushed at Irene, Erza slashing her blade with intense ferocity. While Itachi launched a multitude of fire volley balls. "Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" Tossing a series of shuriken into the fire volleys, the flame coated shuriken flew towards Irene.
"Tower?!" Irene sounded baffled, as with a wave of her staff she created a wind current that blew away the fire enhanced shuriken. "I left you in a village!"
"Yeah, and that village got attacked by a cult, that took us as slaves!" Erza revealed, and Irene seemed genuinely baffled. To the point where her guard was down, enough for Erza to actually land a blow. "Until Itachi washed up onto the beach of the tower… I was a slave. But he saved us, and took me in as his adoptive younger sister. I would consider him as well to be more of a parent than you." Erza slashed her sword at her mother's abdomen, and Irene skidded backwards.
Panting, and groaning, Irene glared up at Erza and Itachi who continued their assault. Their combination of moves, suggests they have had years together of training and knowing each other in and out. "Erza, formation C."
"Roger." Erza nodded, and shifted into her Flight armor, the leopard skin cladded armor, boosting up her already enhanced speed tenfold. Erza rushed in towards Irene, forming a series of floating swords. While Itachi's right eye turned bloodshot, and shed tears of blood.
"Amaterasu!" Itachi's right eye shifted into his Mangekyou, as he ignited Erza's swords ablaze with black fire. And Erza launched the blades flying towards Irene.
Irene backed up a step, as she reshaped the earth around her, turning this simple open field into a valley of mountains. The blades soared flying right through the mountains, the sharpness of Erza's swords added with the volatile destructive power of Amaterasu ignited this newly made valley of mountains in flames. Black fire dancing around the destroyed mountain tops, as the burning blades continued to soar towards Irene.
Grinding her teeth, Irene's skin turned pale white and resembled scales. As she unleashed a turret fire of scarlet red blast waves of energy. Not noticing that both Erza and Itachi had rushed amidst the flying black fire blades. "Now!" Erza grabbed one of the flaming swords, wielding a sword of black fire. While Itachi glared into Irene's eyes, causing her to tense up.
"Agh!" Irene froze under the effects of the Mangekyou Sharingan with a paralysis Genjutsu, and Erza thrusted her flame infused blade at Irene. "Argh!" Irene screamed out as the black fire exploded into a pillar storm of black fire around her, the pillar of black flames penetrating through the clouds. With the clouds darkening, as the added heat created friction in the air and generated a thunder storm.
Turning back, Erza changed into her Armadura Fairy armor, charging up a green burst blast attack at the tip of her Amaterasu infused sword. While Itachi stood next to her, puffing his cheeks as he gathered chakra into his chest. "Fairy Burst!" "Inferno Style: Fire Ball!" Erza launching a green blast attack carrying the Amaterasu flames from the blade, while Itachi spat out a colossal ball of burning fire mixed with the black flames of Amaterasu. Both attacks clashing into the blazing tower of black fire, and unleashing an explosion that carried enough force to shatter the surrounding burning mountains. Itachi and Erza both then took a giant leap backwards, as Itachi raised his dominant hand up to the heavens, taming the thunder storm and manipulating it into a roaring thunder dragon. Erza added to the power, lifting up her sword and unleashing a surge of green lightning into the thunder clouds. "Armadura Fairy: Thunder Clap!"
In a synchronized motion, Itachi brought his hand down and Erza her sword, as they redirected the full force of the thunder storm onto Irene and the blazing blast of fire. The dark green thunder dragon, rained down in a mighty roar as it vaporized the surrounding valley of mountains in a bright flashing strike.
Flying above, was Wendy, Carla having latched onto her back and taking her airborne. "Amazing! The collective power of Itachi and Erza are amazing!" Wendy cheered with great enthusiasm.
"Hn, guess that's the power of a sibling bond for you." Carla and Wendy shared victories smile as they hovered over the burning remains of the blast.
"Hngh!" A loud grunt echoed from the firepit, as a giant shockwave exploded from it blowing away the black flames and further spreading them around this ruined valley. Irene came into view, huffing and puffing like a feral animal. Smoke coming out from her mouth, and her teeth resembling fangs. "Not bad!" Something big emerged from Irene's back and created such strong wind currents, that both Itachi and Erza were blown back from it.
"It can't be…" Erza gasped.
"Not a scratch." Itachi looked surprised himself, as Irene stood before them. Her clothes burnt off, and her skin pure white and covered in scales.
Using her enchantment, Irene copied her exact previous outfit, and her skin regained its regular complexion. And whatever had emerged from her back vanished and turned into an extended version of her cloak. "I have fought entire armies in the past, destroyed entire nations and kingdoms, and none have performed as well as you two. I can see… why so many of the Twelve have fallen in this war."
"You will fall just the same." Erza declared, still burning strong with confidence.
"Hehehe, really? Maybe if the original Itachi was here to back you up, sure. But just you, a clone, a little enchanter and her Exceed pet… You lot don't stand a chance~" Irene gleamed with a twisted smirk, looking clean and free from any sot or battle dust.
"…" Itachi narrowed his glare at Irene, contemplating on summoning the original and abandoning his attempt to gather up more power to help out Erza. 'She might be right… As a clone, I only carry 70% of the original's own base power. I can't use Sage Mode in this state either. And I can't go into my fully transformed Demon form. At best, I can hope to manage a Partially transformed state for a short time. Perhaps I should disable the clone Jutsu, and relay intel back to the original and have him come to fight instead.'
"Onii-san, don't even think about it." Erza, like she had read Itachi's mind stopped him. "You getting back to full strength is needed for our final push to win this war. We'll not get sidetracked here. I would rather die knowing we win this war, than to live and see us lose." Erza stood strong, and firm in her decision as she raised her blade ready to continue the fight. "Besides… Whether we have a chance of winning or not… remains to be seen." Erza smirked with a great deal of confidence.
Itachi sighed to himself. "My, to think I would ever see the day my own darling little sister scolded me. Heh, now I can officially say you've grown up into a strong woman." With a confident smirk of his own, Itachi stood next to Erza as the demonic markings on his body spread to stage 2. Creating gigantic demonic claws around his hand, with demonic darkness hoisting Itachi up like spider legs.
Wendy then jumped down, getting air dropped by Carla. Her hair turning bright pink and spiky as she entered her Dragon Force form. "I'm here to fight too!"
Irene flinched as she laid her eyes on Wendy's new form. "A Dragon Slayer, eh?" Irene cackled at the sight, as her body gave off an intense vibrant aura of power. "Tell me young slayer, did your Dragon not teach you to revere my name?" Irene with a single tap from her staff, recreated the entire destroyed valley of mountains. The flowers came to bloom, and a river flowed down the valley like a fjord. "Irene Belserion… in the Empire I am known as the Scarlet Despair. But by Dragons, I am known by a different name."
"Known by Dragons?" Erza and Wendy collectively looked confused by that statement. While Itachi, who had paid attention to that little change in Irene's form earlier figured it out.
"I suppose, it would only be fitting for Erza to at the very least learn the secrets of her birth." Irene declared as the scarlet aura around her, changed into a blood red color.
"I have no interest in such tales." Erza denied her mother of speaking, as she armed herself with her Purgatory armor. The black spiked armor and her large black sword.
"Oh, don't be so cold. We've finally been reunited after all this time. So, the least you can do is indulge your poor mother~" Irene taunted, and Erza snapped and rushed forward with her arms stretched far out the side as she prepared to swing her Purgatory blade.
"Silence!" Erza called out, as she delivered a mighty swing of her blade, that shattered the ground beneath her and Irene into a crater.
However, her blade was caught by Irene's bare hand. Erza flinched, as her arms were shaking trying to break through Irene's guard. "Irene Belserion… A name known by Dragons, as the founder of Dragon Slayer magic. The Queen of Dragons." Irene revealed, as she broke Erza's blade with her monstrous strength, snapping it in half like a twig.
Hearing the sound of the metal getting snapped, Erza retracted herself back a few steps, eyeing her broken sword in disbelief. Wendy was shaken in disbelief as well, as she quietly mumbled. "Founder of Dragon Slayer magic?"
"I see… She's like Acnologia." Itachi mumbled, seeing as Irene was capable of Dragon transformation.
"Hmm, not quite. Acnologia abandoned his own humanity. I still hold onto it, after all these centuries." Irene revealed, her pupils turning slit like a Dragon for a mere moment as her vision turned obscure as a thin folded layer of her eyelids fell onto her eyes. Like a snake, she blocked off her vision and relied on her senses.
'That's like Kabuto's Sage Mode…' Itachi made a mental note, as Irene seemed to have learned how to block of visual Genjutsu. Like Kabuto had claimed as a Sage, he had evolved into a Dragon. Irene was an actual Dragon. 'And as a clone… I cannot cast Izanami on her either.' Itachi mentally cursed himself for not having used Tsukuyomi instead of a regular paralysis Genjutsu, even though using the Tsukuyomi as a clone would have potentially consumed too much chakra.
"That's better…" Irene hummed as she glanced up at Itachi, Erza and Wendy. She could still see them, make out their facial expressions and sense the heat off their bodies. But the added layer over her eyes prevented anyone from landing a visual Genjutsu onto her.
"What did she just do?" Erza whispered to Itachi.
"She put a thin layer of her eyelids over her eyes. She has closed off the visual link needed for me to put her in a visual Genjutsu." Itachi whispered back, and Erza understanding the complications that brought for them lightly flinched. "Not to worry… I have other alternate means." Itachi mumbled as he clenched and unclenched his fist.
"Hmm?" Irene's ears perked up with intrigue, as a Dragon Slayer she had keen sense of hearing to that of a regular human. Itachi stood up right, and lifted his dominant arm up towards Irene who was ready for an attack. Instead, Itachi just pointed his finger at her.
"Best to surrender now while you still can." Itachi warned, his expression stoic and serious which caught Irene off guard.
"Heh? Surrender? You best be joking boy." Irene had no intention of surrendering, especially not to a mere clone of Itachi, her daughter and a young Dragon Slayer brat. "I can bend the earth, entire countries and continents to my will. If anyone should surrender, it ought to be you three."
Itachi then cracked a tiny smile. "Don't say I didn't warn you." Reaching into his pouch, Itachi pulled out a kunai that he flicked around between his fingers. "Erza, Wendy, don't leave my side." Itachi instructed.
"Right, master." Wendy nodded as the wind currents pulled themselves towards her. While Erza quietly nodded and changed into her Ataraxia Armor. A beautiful revealing white gown with a red collar, and a series of blades floating around her back like wings.
Itachi although he was confident, they might be able to win, a part of him wished he could do as his original and other clone to gather Nature Energy. As elsewhere, a second Wood Clone of Itachi sat underneath a tree meditating. And next to him was Mirajane, Lisanna and Elfman. Having taken a break in their advance to the guildhall as one of Itachi's clones had arrived for the push.
"How much longer?" Elfman asked impatiently.
"Just a little longer…" Itachi replied, as his face began getting the Sage markings.
Mirajane flinched, as the sound of battle echoed a little further away. Shining lights, and raining stars bombarding into the battlefield making the ground tremble. "One of the Twelve…" Mirajane noted, as she recognized the feel of this presence, it was him.
The General of the Spriggan Twelve, August, held off the collective assault of Gildarts, Beatrice and Jellal. The Spriggan General looked at his surrounding enemies, Beatrice attacking from the right, Gildarts from the left and Jellal from above. "No matter how many of you come together. You cannot defeat me." August declared as with a singular movement of his finger. Magma erupted from the ground around him. Erecting a wall before Gildarts and Beatrice, and shooting up towards Jellal.
Coating himself in light, Jellal kicked the air itself and bounced out to the side to avoid the incoming magma. Gildarts didn't let up in his advance, his destructive magic power blowing away the skyscraper magma pillar around August. The Spriggan General looking a little surprised at Gildarts' direct approach.
Throwing his dominant arm forward, Gildarts unleashed a web of magical energy like a fishing net cast out into the ocean. The magical web broke through August's body, dividing it up into a series of cubes. "Gotcha!" Gildarts smirked.
Jellal and Beatrice seeing this opening quickly acted, a wave of energy generated at Beatrice's blade, while Jellal unleashed a rain of light waves. "Quite the interesting magic you have…" August mumbled, forcing his cube divided body into a solid form leaving them all stunned. The cubes then shot out to various directions, colliding into Jellal and Beatrice knocking the air out of both of them. All then soared towards Gildarts, and took the shape of August who slammed his fist upwards into Gildarts' ribcage.
"Argh!" Gildarts' face was twisted in pain, as he was launched into the air. August appeared in a flash over Gildarts, and thrusted his staff into the tank of Fairy Tail. Gildarts' shoulder was skewered through by August's staff, grabbing a firm hold onto the staff Gildarts launched himself forward in dealing a headbutt to August. Both men locked their eyes, and unleashed a violent storm of magical power that tore through the landscape.
"Please…" August nearly rolled his eyes at Gildarts efforts, as he dropkicked the tank of Fairy Tail in the chest launching him crashing down like a meteorite. The sheer impact made by Gildarts, with his intense aura caused the entire ground beneath him to split up into a web of cubes as it sank into a crater.
Jellal swopped in at light speed, and threw a punch to August hitting the Spriggan General square in the face. Jellal's fierce glare, turned into a gasping look of shock as August had hardly flinched from the hit. Pushing aside Jellal's fist with a swing of his arm, August countered with a hit of his own to Jellal's face sending him rocketing to the ground next to Gildarts.
Beatrice jumped up high, looming over August from behind with her sword raised. The Spriggan General suddenly grew an identical copy of himself out from his very back, grabbing onto Beatrice's sword mid swing. "No matter how many…" The clone of August drove his head forward in a headbutt, knocking the master of Mermaid Heel back. "… flock together, you don't have any hope of defeating me." August once again declared.
"We won't know until we try!" Cana despite being heavily outclassed jumped in next, throwing her magic cards at August.
"Cana! Don't! It's too dangerous!" Gildarts shouted at his daughter from bellow.
August side stepped midair and dodged the magic cards as they soared by him. "Hmm, a father and daughter." August hummed as he thrusted the end of his staff forward in an aim to stab Cana. But then, a loud thunder echoed around them as a glint of piercing red shot between them. "Cana!" Gildarts shouted unable to reach his daughter in time.
A blast of red thunder blasted into August, the electricity erasing the clone growing out from his back and sending the Spriggan General back a few steps. "Hmm?" August glanced at the newcomer with little concern.
Cana was awestruck as a strong arm held onto her waist tightly. "Laxus?" Cana mumbled, as the grandson of Makarov had joined the battle. Yellow dragon scales growing around the side of his face, his eyes lime green in color. His once neatly trimmed spiky blond hair, having grown longer and wilder like an elegant mane with growing chops. And dragon horns growing out from his forehead. And his body was crackling with red lightning bolts. "Red Lightning King Dragon Mode." Laxus eyed the threat that was August, and like a dragon growled at the Spriggan General.
"Ho? A Dragon Slayer, eh? Using a Lacrima like God Serena did. That is quite the destructive level of power you have there." August complimented, although in a singular move, he had blasted Laxus out from the sky. As a beam of magical energy rained down onto him.
Laxus held his dominant forearm up to shield Cana from the beam, as they were pushed down to the dirt. His cloak stained with mud, Laxus tossed it aside. "You… You are the one Gramps warned us about, right? General of the Spriggan Twelve, Magic King August." Laxus glared up at August.
"Ho? Makarov's grandson, eh? I see… I am honored." August floated down to face his opponents. Although as he came down, he noticed the number of enemies had suddenly grown. More people had followed Laxus into battle, such as the Thunder Legion. And, even the former prisoners of the Tower of Heaven.
Jellal flinched as he spotted Sho, Walley and Millianna in the crowd. Almost pulling himself back in order to hide. Luckily for him, everyone was too focused on the threat of August. Who despite their overwhelming numbers, wasn't even faced.
August didn't even bat an eye at the fact he was surrounded, he was so calm it was off putting. "It seems you still fail to understand. No matter how many of you come together against me, you cannot win." August could tell who the strongest opponents he had to face were, Laxus being the strongest as of now, then Gildarts, Jellal and Beatrice. Each of them powerful enough to be high ranking members of the Twelve themselves. But to August they were still only a minor inconvenience.
"Heh, we'll see about that, fucker." Laxus vanished in a red flash of light, and appeared instantly in front of August with his fist drawn. "Red Lightning Dragon King…! Supercell Fist!" A heavy red lightning charged fist soared towards August's face, yet the Spriggan remained uncaring.
"Earth…" August mumbled, as the power of Laxus' lightning was redirected down to the earth itself. The stunned lightning Dragon slayer could only gasp, as August dealt an upwards knee strike to his chin slamming his jaw shut. August then followed up with a roundhouse kick directly to the side of Laxus' head, and he was launched skipping across the battlefield.
"Laxus!" Freed and the rest of the Thunder Legion rushed to their leader's side. "Jutsu Shiki!" Freed erected a barrier to entrap August, while Bickslow and Evergreen simultaneously fired off their strongest long-range attacks. "Fairy Machine Gun!" A spray fire of light attacks, and Bickslow's dolls unleashing a giant green beam of energy. "Baryon Formation!"
August stared at the attacks from within the barrier with little care. 'This Jutsu Shiki barrier… doesn't allow your attacks to pass through. But from our end we can bombard you as much as we want!' Freed smirked victories. "Now! Everyone, attack!" At Freed's command, many wizards began launching a series of long-ranged attacks.
"No… wait…" All but Jellal who noticed something was off. "Wait! It won't work! It's a trap!" Jellal shouted his warning a little too late, as a smirk creeped up on August's face.
"Fall." August mumbled, and the entire barrier around him crumbled to dust, and all the attacks thrown at him fell to the ground in a heavy thud. The gravity in the area had spiked up, and as such many fell to their faces. Being crushed within this intense pressure.
"Ugh!" Jellal groaned as he was pushed to his knees, as was Beatrice, Gildarts and Laxus. While everyone laid still, unable to move a muscle as they continued to get crushed.
"Like I said… no matter how many of you gang up together. You cannot win." August walked carefree through this intense pressure, walking up to Jellal as he stepped onto the back of his head pushing his face into the dirt. "Jellal Fernandes… Still, you are the one here I respect the most. Your Heavenly body magic is quite astonishing. If only you could accelerate it beyond your current limits, and reach its full potential."
"All Crush!" Suddenly the ground beneath them was lifted up, moving like waves as Gildarts in a desperate move unleashed his spell into the ground. August looked a little shocked, struggling to keep his balance as suddenly he was launched up into the air by a heavy explosion.
August stared into the cloud of dust, seeing two lights shine as they soared towards him. Laxus and Jellal moved at light speed as they went in for the attack. "Meteor!" Jellal increased his speed, as he coated his body in a golden glow and bounced across the heavens like a shooting star. "Red Lightning Dragon…! Flashing Strike!" Laxus moved like an upwards lightning bolt towards the heavens, moving in red flashes as he circled around August instantly and appeared behind him. While Jellal moved in at the front.
Flames formed at Jellal's forearm, as he launched his fists forward. "Flames of Rebuke!" The shower of golden flames washed over August, the heat was intense and left even burns on Jellal's skin as he cast it.
"Pour." August mumbled, as suddenly the dark clouds above, unleashed a pouring shower of rain. A rain that grew so strong it turned into a water fall from the very sky. Both Laxus and Jellal fell plummeting down, with Laxus' lightning even electrocuting them both due to the water.
"Jellal?" Sho reacted upon seeing his old friend, and suddenly rage overtook his face. Wally however, placed his blocky hand onto Sho's shoulder shaking his head.
"It's okay… sort of… Nya." Millianna awkwardly mumbled. "He made up with Erza-chan… and Kagura-chan even."
"As dandy as that sounds, looks like he could use help right about now." Wally flicked his sun glasses, as blocks moved out from his body forming themselves into guns.
"Oh, Wally! Is such a kindhearted boy!" Richard was overjoyed at seeing his brother able to move away from the past. "It's true, Jellal has redeemed I would say. He even went out of his way to help us after all…" Richard mumbled as Erik and Macbeth nodded in agreement to him.
"Shall we help out our troublesome guild master?" Macbeth suggested with a light smirk.
"Heh, I can hear he is scared of meeting up with his old pals here. So yeah, let's lend him a hand." Erik and Macbeth both rushed towards the battle to face August.
"You guys are nuts…" Sawyer on the other hand was trembling. "I've tried to slow that old geezer down this entire time… but no matter what, he still moves too fast."
"We have to try." Richard encouraged his friend, as he manipulated the ground to absorb the surrounding water and negate the lightning the best he could.
"Tch! Fine." Sho gave in, and readied his playing cards.
"Ugh…" Jellal groaned, when suddenly he saw Erik and Macbeth run past him and towards August. "No wait, he's too powerful." Jellal tried to warn them, but suddenly Millianna as well ran in to fight. As did Richard and Sawyer eventually. But what surprised him the most, was Sho yanking Jellal up from the mud.
"Come on and show us you've changed! Fight!" Sho demanded, showing he still had issues with Jellal, but was able to look past it to defeat August.
"Or else we'll tell Erza how un-dandy-like you were." Wally even teased him, as he fired off a series of machine gun fire at August from every angle.
"More flies…" August mumbled as with his staff he blocked and redirected the bullets with ease.
"Poison Dragon: Claw!" Erik jumped at August, and swung his claw at him only for August to dodge. Erik clicking his tongue in frustration that he couldn't hear August's thoughts.
"Haven't you lot learned by now?" August dealt an upper cut punch to Erik's chest, the Poison Dragon Slayer's eyes bulged out nearly from his skull. "Impact." Erik was launched off August's fist like cannonball out from a cannon.
The space around August began bending, as Macbeth made his attempt. Only for the effects to be reversed back onto him. "Counter." August proceeded to kick Macbeth over to where he had launched Erik. The ground beneath August liquified and like a monster rose up to swallow him. "Melt." The ground beneath August then exploded into a pillar of magma and Richard was knocked back as well.
Sho threw his playing cards, attempting to seal away August. August seeing the cards, moved out of the way as they flew by his head. The cards then burnt away from the magma. August glanced at Sho, and by merely widening his glare at him, launched the young wizard flying back with intense pressure.
"Sho!" Jellal moved in, and caught his old friend.
"Jellal!" Meredy jumped in to defend Jellal and Sho, as she formed a series of energy blades that she launched forward at August.
"Flash." August moved in at instantaneous speed, and rushed past Meredy's blades, and knocked her out with a swift neck chop. Then he moved to eliminate Jellal and Sho.
Sho didn't react, no one but Jellal could notice August's movement. Glancing up to face his attacker, Jellal stared August dead in the eye and snarled. "Pleiades!" Six rays of light shot into August's body, pushing him back slightly. "You will not harm them!" Jellal snarled, he wouldn't let those he had wronged suffer anymore. "Meteor Overdrive!" The light around Jellal, intensified to a greater level than ever before.
His heart beating in his ears, Jellal accelerated his speed to new levels as he moved too fast for August even to register. "Ugh!" August grunted as he was dragged up into the air. Looking down, it was Jellal's fist that was buried in his gut. "Taking my advice, I see…" August groaned and suddenly his own body mimicked Jellal's light. Both moved at such intense levels of speed that time itself appeared to be standing still.
"Shut up!" Jellal snarled at August, as blood started to pour down his nose. His body getting pushed to its limit with this level of speed. He still moved slightly faster than the old August, but the fact that the Spriggan general could keep up with him was alarming.
"Hang in there, Erza's boytoy!" Laxus swopped down as well, his Red Lightning Dragon King mode allowing him to at the very least keep up.
"B-Boytoy?" Jellal looked slightly flustered, but quickly regained his focus.
"You don't look so good." Laxus commented as he noticed the streak of blood running down Jellal's nose. And he heard his intense heartbeat that sounded like it was about to explode.
"I'm fine." Jellal continued pushing forward, and Laxus went to support him. Jellal had the speed, and Laxus had the power together they made for a dangerous combo. Unfortunately for them, their opponent was August.
"Such spirit you youngsters have. It's admirable." August's muscles swelled, as he blocked off Laxus' heavy hits. Yet somehow, his speed hadn't slowed down and he was still able to hold off Jellal's assault as well. "Tell me, young Jellal, recognize this?" August raised his finger, as he generated a similar light as Jellal from his fingertip.
"No…" Jellal gasped in terror.
"May the Seven Stars bring Judgment upon you… Grand Chariot." The star sign formed behind August, as he launched a terrifying blast down to the battlefield where everyone else were.
'What can I do? That blast is at least twice as strong as my own… What would Erza do?' Jellal's mind raced, and he initially reached a conclusion. 'No matter how hopeless the situation! She would try and rescue them all! As would Itachi…' Jellal remembered the events of the Tower, and how Itachi with his Susano'o stopped the creation of the R-System by blocking out the Etherion blast. And that gave Jellal an idea. Jellal and Laxus in panic, moved down to help as many as they could. Laxus moved in to intercept August's attack, unleashing mighty red lightning roar to block out half the beams raining down onto them. "Faster! I've got to move faster!" Sparkly energy formed around Jellal, and blood poured down from his nose, eyes and ears as he accelerated his speed until he was a mere golden flash.
"Splendid." August from above commended as he saw the spark of golden flashes circulate around the battlefield. Having moved around quick enough, Jellal had been able to gather all the scattered mages into a singular area. And formed a giant golden shield to block off the rain of August's Heavenly Body spell.
"Jellal…?" Millianna gasped as someone that resembled their old friend stood over them defensively. Many mages started to express confusion as to why they were suddenly moved. Hundreds of them had been moved to this now overly crowded area, where Jellal had erected a golden sparkly shield that nearly blocked out the sky.
Letting out a deep sigh, Jellal stood up wiping the blood from his nose. He had pushed himself beyond his limits, and his body now oozed of what could only be described as divine light. His once blue hair, having turned spiky and sparkly golden. His eyes shining bright like burning stars as he glared up at August.
"Splendid, the pinnacle of Heavenly Body magic. I've studied it for years, and never encountered a wizard able to master it." August applauded Jellal. "I thank you for this opportunity of study." August smirked as he took in the form of Jellal's sparkly golden appearance.
"I will kill you for what you've done to these people." Jellal stared August down, with this new form he had reached a level of power on par with Larcade.
"I second that." Laxus moved in a red flash next to Jellal. The two young men's aura's matching in intensity as they glared down the Magic King.
"Then by all means, come and try." August challenged, his body glowing golden. Jellal was the first to rush in, throwing his fist forward at such speed it created hundreds of after images. "Meteor Rush!" August however weaved and dodged the hits, it seemed by Jellal growing stronger, August had grown stronger in return. Or was just showing more of what power he had hidden.
Laxus joined in on the assault, and the intensity of both his and Jellal's attacks had August on the ropes. The Magic King grunting and struggling to block off all their hits. Eventually he had to create a giant spectral avatar of himself, the giant avatar of August blowing Laxus and Jellal back with beams of energy coming out from its eyes. "Intriguing." August seemed to be enjoying himself, facing such a variety of magic was amusing for him.
The sun was then blocked off, and August in confusion looked up seeing a giant spectral armored warrior with wings come crashing down with a sword. The avatar of August slapped its hands around onto the sword, as the Perfect Susano'o roared in his face. "This is…" August mumbled noticing it wasn't Itachi, but rather Itachi's Edolas counterpart Commander Itachi.
"Looks like there are only monsters left on the enemy side." Commander Itachi smirked as the Susano'o launched a machine gun fire of burning feathers that pierced August's avatar.
"Yeah!" Edolas Natsu came driving in on his car, spewing waves of fire towards August who quickly erected a wall of water to counter the flames. The water however turned against him, as Edolas Gray and Juvia manipulated it to launch water bullets into August.
"These are…" Gildarts mumbled as he saw magic staffs stabbing into the ground around August. Mystogan and Erza Knightwalker jumping in as well. "Sky Scraper!" Mystogan created a strong hallucination for August, who visibly groaned in annoyance as his senses were disrupted.
Exploiting the opening, Knightwalker rushed in with her magic spear, thrusting it forward launching a cannon blast that knocked August out from his spectral avatar. "Jump him!" Lucy Ashley leapt in with an electric whip, and swung it around August's wrist sending a surge of electricity into him.
"Ugh!" August looked to be visibly in pain, which had Gildarts look in awe.
"That's it…" Gildarts gasped as he seemed to have figured it out. "Everyone! He is weak to holder magic! I figured it out! His magic, is copy magic! He can copy our natural magic abilities! But not the abilities of weapons and tools!"
At this, the Edolas Fairy Tail crew smirked, as they had brought their magic tools and were about to abuse it to hell. Cana smirked as she held out her magic cards, as did Sho with his playing cards. "Get him!"
"Heh, well played…" August groaned, but suddenly spectral energy shot itself out from his body. Creating hundreds of spectral clones of himself. "Indeed, I use Copy Magic. And indeed, I can't copy holder type magic. But, did you seriously think I would be the leader of the Twelve with such a weakness? This is but a mild annoyance at best." August unleashed a storm of attacks, creating entire tornado twisters with a mere wave of his hand, magma exploding out from the ground with a mere tap of his staff. Pushing away all the ones approaching him with holder type magic.
"Let's see if this is a mild annoyance!" Itachi, Mirajane, Elfman and Lisanna all collectively jumped in. Itachi in his Sage Mode, threw a hit that weaved by August's face.
Although initially appearing to have missed, August groaned in pain as a shockwave vibrated across his cheek and he was launched flying to the side. "Good of you to finally show up kid!" Gildarts smirked at their Seventh Guild master. "Sort of anyway." Gildarts mumbled as they all could tell this was a wood clone of Itachi. Having spent his time gathering nature energy himself for this battle.
"It seems you are weak to nature energy as well. Let me guess, not so easy to copy what you don't truly understand?" Itachi asked as he saw August rise up from the ground and to the sky.
"Mm…" August wiped his lip, his beard and mustache stained with red droplets of blood. "A clone, eh? I take it the original is gathering more energy?" August motioned, glancing in the far of distance where he felt an enormous growing source of energy. "No matter, his majesty will prevail… I will ensure it." August's aura radiated of pure chaotic energy, a terrifying affinity of light.
Meanwhile, Erza rushed at her mother, the blades of her Ataraxia armor moving in advance towards the Spriggan woman. "Ara, another telekinetic display of swords? I am truly disappointed in you Erza… Instead of adapting my style of magic, you choose a similar style to your father. His magic style, was also known as The Knight."
"I already told you! I only have one father!" Erza bitterly snarled at Irene, not in the least curious of her birth father as the only man she considered her father was Makarov.
"Heh, well yes I suppose Makarov would be a better pick for a father than that deadbeat scum." Irene held her hand out to form a magic circle to block off the advancing blades, but before the blades even made contact. Irene looked like she visibly got hit, as her cheeks vibrated from a heavy air pressure that knocked her down. "Ugh!" Irene grunted, as several other shockwaves blasted into her body. "What the?" Irene grunted, as she erected a barrier around herself, feeling the barrier getting bombarded with shockwaves.
Erza took a giant leap, grabbing onto one of her swords she brought it down in a hammer strike onto Irene's barrier. The barrier shattered like glass, and Irene was left flabbergasted as once again she was hit by an invisible force. "The Ataraxia armor… the blades of this armor unleash a mighty shockwave that can hit my target without coming into direct contact! And a direct hit from the blade, is fifty times stronger than an indirect one!" Erza wielding one of the blades, rushed towards her mother with the rest of the blades following her.
"Impudent little brat!" Irene snarled with mild rage, her eyes glistening in a scarlet glow. And suddenly all of Erza's swords came to a sudden halt midair. Even Erza herself was forced into a stop.
"Erza!" Wendy shouted, seeing as Erza was suddenly lifted up into the air by some unseen force.
Irene held her dominant hand out, as she moved her arm up Erza followed. "Ugh!" Erza groaned, as she couldn't move a muscle. Suddenly her armor was ripped apart, leaving her in a black training bra and shorts.
Irene hissed as Itachi rushed at her from the side, only to come to a sudden halt as well. Itachi grunted, as he too was hoisted up into the air. "Meddlesome interloper, begone from my sight!" Irene pushed her hand forward, as Itachi was launched backwards by a powerful force that reduced entire mountains to rubble.
"No!" Itachi grunted, as the demonic darkness surrounding his arms, shot out like spider legs and stabbed to the ground before him, keeping him in place midair. Irene seeing this grew visibly agitated. One of Itachi's demonic claws, expanded into a blade of darkness that shot forward like an attacking viper, and pierced through Irene's abdomen. Irene found herself lifted up to the air, and was body slammed hard to the ground. Black tendrils of darkness emerged out around Itachi, and shot forward at Erza. Gently wrapping around her body, and yanking her out of this field of energy Irene had created.
To the naked eye it was invisible, but to Itachi's Sharingan it all appeared as a cloud of colors. Irene's energy was dense and strong, it was like she had enough power to pull the moon itself out of orbit if she wanted to. Her psychic level of powers far exceeded any of that which Itachi has seen in any wizard. "It's done…" Itachi revealed as he brought Erza close to him, holding onto her tightly.
Irene remerged from a crater. The stab wound in her abdomen having been healed through enchantment magic. "What's done?" Irene hissed as she glared at the two.
"Sky Dragon: Wing Attack!" Wendy appeared out of thin air, her Dragon force power generating strong tornado levels of wind as she formed two giant twisters with a wave of her arm. Irene cried out in pain, as she was swopped up by these twisters. "Sky Dragon: Piercing Arrow!" Cloaking her foot in a sharp wind current, Wendy swept in with a stabbing kick to Irene's side, knocking the wind out of her.
"Little brat!" Irene grabbed onto Wendy's ankle, and swung her body around like a whip as she tossed the young Wendy hard to the ground.
"Weapon Enchantment! Dragon Slayer Blessing!" Itachi's kunai, and Erza's swords glowed as Wendy enchanted them with her magic. Itachi coating the enchanted kunai in fire, moved at an instantaneous level of speed as he rushed at Irene. Thrusting his kunai forward and piercing Irene's side.
"Argh!" Irene cried out in pain, as the flames burnt her skin. And the Dragon Slayer effects of the enhanced weapon weakened her slightly. 'Hot! Flames?! Impossible! Dragon Slayer enhanced weapon or not! No flame like this should be able to burn me!' Feeling a presence behind her, Irene turned around and thrusted the end of her staff like a blade. Piercing directly through Itachi's chest.
"Onii-san! Itachi!" Erza and Wendy collectively cried out in terror.
"Heh." Irene cracked a smirk, seeing Itachi hang from her staff like a piece of meat. Itachi widened his eyes, his Mangekyou rotating as suddenly his body exploded into a murder of crows. "Ugh!" Irene shielded her eyes as the crows flew into her face. With a frustrated snarl, Irene unleashed waves of scarlet energy blasting from her mouth incinerating various crows in the process.
The sound of metal echoed in her ear, as Irene quickly ducked out of the way as Itachi appear amidst a bunch of black feathers and slashed his kunai at Irene's head. The kunai cloaked in demonic darkness, with its blade expanded to that of a long sword.
Although as Irene had ducked away in time, only her witch hat was slashed in half. Itachi whilst midair, dealt a spin kick into Irene's collar bone sending her bouncing across the battlefield in a series of loud bangs as she dented the ground with each bounce. 'How… my vision was blocked! How could I have fallen to his Genjutsu?!' Irene hissed, as she suddenly noticed Erza charging at her from the front.
With little time to waste, Irene unleashed a blast attack from her fingertip that created a blast wave that totally eclipsed Erza. However, Erza valiantly pushed forward, her blade piercing through the energy blast wave. Irene was now officially shocked. Her attack had done no damage while Erza's weapons held more power than they should have. Was this because of that little enchanter? Irene grabbed onto the blade of Erza as she thrusted it towards Irene's heart.
"Ugh!" Irene hissed in pain, as the blade cut into her hand with blood staining the sword. 'I can't stop it?!' Irene knew she was stronger than this, and knew no matter how many times Erza had been enchanted by Wendy, there was no way she could overpower her like this. Something was amidst here. With her free hand, Irene blasted Erza in the face, the blast completely engulfing her.
"What?!" Irene looked in disbelief, as Erza emerged out from the blast wave, unharmed. Not even a speck of dust on her armor. "I see! All this is an illusion!" With a simple hand movement, Irene cast an enchantment onto herself. As suddenly the image of Erza faded, and was replaced by Itachi, in his Stage 2 Demon Transformation, explaining the immense strength Irene had faced from Erza, as it was in reality Itachi she had fought all along. The black mass of darkness having shielded him from the blast. "I am impressed boy, you really got around my blocked vision somehow!"
"Visual Genjutsu is not the only way I can cast illusions. All I need, is a single finger." Itachi revealed, having used his finger to manipulate the flow of Ethernano within Irene to cause hallucinations.
"You mean… all the way back then?" Irene was amazed, Itachi had planted the seeds of his illusion the moment he had pointed his finger at her.
"It's also not over." Itachi smiled, as Irene suddenly found herself frozen stiff. Unable to even move a single finger. "You merely stripped away one layer of the illusion. You didn't break it." Itachi revealed, as Irene's arm suddenly began melting. Her flesh melting off her very bone. "Now!" Itachi called out, as Erza and Wendy jumped in to join this collective attack.
Itachi's dominant arm forming into a large demonic blade of darkness, as he also gained a cloak of darkness as he entered his Partially Transformed state. Wendy cloaking her arms in giant wind twisters taking the shape of Dragon claws. And Erza switching into her Clear Heart Clothing armor, dual wielding a pair of Ethernano enhanced glowing blades.
"Heh, crafty~" Irene giggled, as suddenly her body ruptured with a giant force of energy. Her magic power covering the very land in a scarlet storm of power. This sudden violent burst of energy, was enough for Irene to break free from the Genjutsu. As she did, her aura gathered into her staff that she thrusted forward and pierced Itachi directly into the "E" mark of darkness in the center of his chest. A surge of bright red electricity blasting through Itachi's entire body, as a clone he couldn't withstand much more. "Too bad this is the end for you."
Itachi groaned, gritting his teeth as he resisted as much as he could. The electricity running through his body had made him go mostly numb, he couldn't gather the needed strength to move his arms. Instead, Itachi created his Perfect Susano'o. The giant spectral warrior slashing its sword down, cutting Irene's staff in half.
Irene backed up in shock as her staff was broken, but it would not end as the Susano'o launched a series of spinning beads out from its majestic wings. All the spinning beads launched into the heavens, and rained down upon them. "Yasaka Magatama Rain!" Itachi blasted both himself, and Irene with the raining bombardment of his Yasaka beads.
Erza and Wendy were quickly grabbed by Carla, who pulled them out from the blast radius just in time. A giant explosion wave shaped like large dome formed itself in the center, tearing apart the entire terrain. And rallied the ocean itself into colossal tsunami waves.
Irene glared at the Perfect Susano'o and Itachi amidst this giant wave of explosion. Grinding her teeth into fangs, as her body started to grow and be covered in white scales. The upper half of her scales were scarlet red, with a dark red mane that resembled her hair, Irene rose from the explosion as a mighty dragon.
All Erza and Wendy could make out from the giant explosion, were the shadows of two colossal warriors fighting amidst the blast. And the sound of ferocious roars that shook the earth itself, followed by mighty shockwaves of their strikes which stirred the oceans and awoke the unconscious black dragon at the bottom.
Irene charged into Itachi's Perfect Susano'o, biting down onto the armored spectral giant's shoulder whilst unleashing a breath attack into its cracks. Binding her tail around the legs of the Susano'o, Irene was able to gain momentum and pull it down. Standing atop of the spectral warrior, Irene roared into its face as she sunk her claws into its chest. Reeling her head back Irene charged up a breath attack, although as she did the Perfect Susano'o formed the Yata mirror on its left forearm and slammed the shield straight into her mouth. The impact doubled upon getting into contact with the shield, and Irene's head bounced to the side as she unleashed a breath attack that soared off into the distance. Taking out several chains of islands in a mighty red explosion.
Itachi clutching onto his stabbed chest, using every ounce of demonic darkness to try and heal the wound, found it to be a fruitless effort. It was no use. He couldn't sustain this clone for very long. And he couldn't afford to vanish here, Erza and Wendy lacked the current power to face someone like Irene on their own. Morphing his eyes into the Rinnegan, Itachi glared at the dragon form of Irene. "Shinra Tensei!" Unleashing a massive gravitational push, Itachi launched Irene into the air. But he wasn't done, forming a black gravity sphere in his hand Itachi tossed it up towards Irene as he formed the needed hand seal. "Chibaku Tensei!"
"Whoa!" Erza and Wendy quickly moved to avoid the rising rubble. As a sudden gravitational force pulled up the surrounding rocks and debris from the various shattered mountains. "Wendy! Erza!" Carla swopped down in her human form with Exceed wings, and grabbed onto Wendy and Erza flying them away from the intense gravity at maximum speed.
"Ugh! Little punk!" Irene roared as she was bombarded by rocks, buried underneath them as they continued to gather at a great magnitude. Entrapping her as the core of a miniature like moon. The floating sphere of rocks continued to grow by the second, as Itachi's Susano'o faded and he was feeling out of breath.
Over with August, Mirajane was blasted out from the sky, her Evil Explosion wave countered with a piercing ray of light. "I got you!" Itachi moved in his arms ready, grabbing onto Mirajane as he chucked a few truth seeker orbs towards August.
"Hn!" August grunted, and visibly struggled as the Truth Seeker orbs negated all the properties of his basic spells. In the end, August formed a giant spiritual avatar of himself that smacked the orbs down with a swing of their fists. "Clone or not, you are rather troublesome." August shot a ray from his finger, aiming it at Mirajane knowing Itachi would protect her. Itachi in panic tossed Mirajane out of the way, as the beam pierced his chest.
"Ugh!" Itachi collapsed onto his knees, and Mirajane quickly rushed to her husband's side. "Itachi!" Grabbing onto him, Mira cradled her injured husband.
"Leave me, Mira… I'm just a clone." Itachi grunted, as his body started to wither away into wood.
"Clone or not, we need your power here. Your Sage skills are the only ones he can't counter." Mira knew that even as a clone, her husband was their best chance of taking down someone like August.
"I'm not so sure…" Itachi mumbled, as he thought of Mavis who was currently fighting Zeref in the guildhall. Perhaps she could defeat August? That or, maybe Gray. Knowing he was about to disappear, there wasn't much he could do, except for one thing. Give someone the needed power to continue to fight. "Mm!" With a light groan, Itachi's body grew visible demonic markings, as he entered his Partially Transformed state.
"Good, you can heal like this, right?" Mira gasped in relief.
"No, he won't." August declared and prepared to fire another beam, but a giant red spectral hand swiped in between them.
"Back off!" The counterpart of Itachi from Edolas stepped in with his Perfect Susano'o, together with Laxus who rushed with his near instantaneous speed. And Jellal with his beyond light speed Heavenly Body form. All three rushed at once at August, even if he could counter their attacks they could still fight directly.
Mira looked relieved that they had been given some time, but Itachi groaned in her arms. "He's right… I can't heal." Itachi revealed as he felt his chakra slipping. "But I can do one last thing… Mira, listen to me. I need you, to use your Takeover magic on me." Itachi looked to his wife, who widened her eyes in shock at the statement. "I'm only a clone… so you won't harm the original. And this way, I can give you my power and the control of my Truth Seeker orbs."
"B-But I don't know how to control them!" Mira said hesitantly, although she would admit that Itachi's plan would in theory work.
"Look into my eyes…" Itachi mumbled, and Mira complied. "Tsukuyomi…!" If she didn't know, he would teach her, giving her as much time as she needed. But unlike how it was with Hashirama who was a reanimated warrior, Itachi had to be careful as not to overload Mirajane's brain, or else she would die like Izumi did.
Back with Erza, Itachi wobbled away from the now moon sized sphere in the sky. Feeling Irene fighting to break out within it, and soon enough she would. "Erza… come here…" Itachi mumbled, beckoning his adopted sister to come closer.
"Don't worry Itachi, I will try and heal you." Wendy rushed in along with Erza, but Itachi was quick to dismiss her.
"No, don't waste your energy… My clone body can't hold on any longer. I will soon disappear. But before that… I need to give Erza something." Itachi spoke between heavy breaths, his legs already turning more wood-like and beginning to rot.
"Wh-What?" Erza asked with a hint of concern in her tone. Itachi in silence, slowly raised his arm up and reached out towards Erza's forehead.
Mirajane was having a similar experience, as she regained consciousness from spending a few days within the world of Tsukuyomi. "That's all I have time for… but it will have to do." Itachi mumbled as he reached his hand out. Simultaneously, across the continent of Ishgar, Itachi poked both Erza and Mirajane in the forehead. "I believe in you." Itachi smiled as he said it to both of them.
Mirajane shedding a small tear, as her body glowed. "Takeover…!" Both hers and Itachi's body were enveloped in a bright purple light.
Erza shed a tear, as Itachi transferred some of his power to Erza. Using the same method he had done to Sasuke when he set the trap for Obito with the Amaterasu, only a bit different. As Itachi transferred his ocular jutsu and chakra, into Erza's artificial eye. Both of Itachi's clones, withered away into pieces of wood before Erza and Mirajane's eyes. Both women rising to their feet, with a new power surging through them.
August blew away all his attackers at once, and then seeing the source of this light looked towards Mirajane. While on the other side of the continent, Irene broke through the Chibaku Tensei. Falling out from it as she had reverted back to her human form. The massive amount of rubble rained down around them, as Irene landed before Erza and Wendy. "I see, that troublesome clone is gone." Both August and Irene respectively said simultaneously without the other knowing.
"Yeah…" Mira mumbled, slowly turning towards August.
"He is gone…" Erza mumbled, slowly turning towards Irene.
Both Spriggan widened their eyes at what they saw. "But I'm still here!" Both women declared to their respective opponents.
Mirajane standing tall, cloaked in demonic darkness. Her hair standing up like her regular Satan Soul form. Her naked upper body cloaked in an open cloak of darkness that stuck tightly onto her body, with a high collar around her neck. Her arms cloaked in darkness and resembling Demonic claws. Her entire lower body cloaked in darkness, with her feet resembling demonic talons. Seven floating Truth Seeker orbs appearing around her back. And finally, the mark of "E" on her right boob. "Satan Soul: E."
Erza was standing tall in her Clear Heart Clothing armor, wielding two dual wield swords. One sword cloaked in her scarlet red Ethernano aura, and the other in a red aura like Itachi's Susano'o. Her scarlet bangs blowing over her artificial eye, that was now a Sharingan. The eye then morphing into Itachi's Mangekyou Sharingan, and then finally into the Rinnegan.
The two most important women in Itachi's life, his wife gaining his spiritual power of Sage and Demonic Darkness. The other, his sister gaining his visual prowess. One had gained a significant strength and durability boost, along with the added senses of Sage Mode. The other, had gained a significant speed boost and reaction speed as well as a series of ocular powers.
"What's this?" Irene backed up in complete surprise at Erza's transformation. "She's different somehow… this air of pressure around her. She's become nearly as strong as Larcade."
August had a less shocked reaction, and was more curious than anything. "Fascinating. The loving husband offered his pregnant wife quite the power boost. To nearly rival Larcade, my that is an impressive feat. Three of you… all nearly as strong as Larcade." August looked to Mirajane, Laxus and Jellal all who had reached the same realm of power from this fight against him. "Heh, I must say it is a pity. It's not every day such prime candidates for the Twelve will show up. Oh well, with what his majesty is planning, the Twelve will soon hold no meaning." August said with a cold indifferent stare at his various sea of opponents. That's right, August alone knew the true extents of Zeref's plan, unlike the rest of the Twelve. August knew, that after this war the Twelve would seize to exist.
Erza stared down Irene with her new right eye, the rippling pattern of the Rinnegan giving off such an intense vibe of power. Irene stared cautiously at Erza for a brief moment, then a smile grew across her lips. "Repair Enchantment." With a flick of her fingers, Irene repaired her broken staff that Itachi had cut in half. "Power up or not, you can never hope to beat me!" Irene gleamed maliciously, as she launched a magical blast at Erza.
Erza's Rinnegan swiftly morphed into the Mangekyou, as she moved to the side dodging the blast. 'I can see it!' Erza was amazed at how much slower Irene seemed to move now. Erza could predict the course of her arm based on muscle movement, seeing three steps ahead of anything Irene could do. 'This is what it's like for Onii-san? Heh, no wonder he is so nimble and quick.' Erza smirked, as she rushed with at least ten times greater speed than before, without any enhancement from Wendy even.
"Ugh!" Irene however, was still able to react to this newly speed boosted Erza, blocking off her dual wield blades with her staff. "Weapon Durability Enchantment! Speed Enchantment!" Irene bestowed upon herself a series of enchantments, feeling suddenly the weight of Erza's blades to be heavier and sharper than before. 'One blade is infused with her own magical power like a cloak of energy, sharpening the blade's edge. The other is cloaked in the same spectral energy as that Itachi Uchiha's Susano'o giving it more destructive power. Whatever this power up is, it has to be limited!' Irene groaned, although then she noticed something that shocked her. 'What's this? Her eye… It's not an ordinary eye. She has a magical artificial eye?!' Irene noticed, as Erza's artificial Mangekyou Sharingan eye stared back at her. 'And it's… constantly getting fueled with Ethernano… This power up is not temporary! I have to destroy that eye of hers if I am to rid her of that Itachi's visual powers!'
Irene was beginning to sense the urgency of her situation, knowing what Itachi could accomplish with that eye, she knew Erza could potentially become problematic to her. And much like another Sharingan borrower from Itachi's old world, Kakashi Hatake, Erza had a vast pool of energy and the stamina to help her use the eye. But the advantage Erza had over the infamous Copy Ninja, was that her eye was of course artificial. An artifact that constantly pulled in magical energy from the air around her. Meaning she could potentially use Itachi's visual prowess over longer periods of time without feeling the drawbacks from not having an Uchiha body.
Still, Irene remained confident in her chances. Even if Erza was near the level of Larcade Dragneel in terms of power, Irene was still vastly superior. "What makes you think you can even win foolish girl?" Irene snarled as she and Erza locked eyes.
Erza glared into Irene's eyes, trying something out but was met with a block. 'It's like Onii-san said… visual Genjutsu won't work on her as long as those thin layer of eyelids block her eyes.' Tightening her grip, Erza pushed forward with her blades. "Because I'm not alone." Erza declared, as Wendy came bouncing in from the side.
"Sky Dragon: Wing Attack!" Swinging her dominant arm at Irene, Wendy launched the Spriggan back a few steps. And Erza took advantage of the situation and rushed with her blades, moving at such blinding speed she slashed her blades into her mother's torso.
"Dual Wield: Ethernano & Yasaka Blade!" Erza and Wendy stood together, as they watched Irene fall onto one knee.
"You… actually managed to hurt me." Irene mumbled, seeing her hand, stained red with fresh blood from the slash wounds left by Erza. "Hehe, my that is a surprise…" Irene's body glowed, as she used a healing enchantment to instantly close up her wound. "But tell me, young Dragon Slayer… Are you not worried about overusing your power? Do you not know of the Dragon Seed and the Dragon transformation process?"
Wendy of course remembered, that was the whole reason the Dragons gave up their lives. "My mother sealed herself within my body to prevented the growth of my Dragon Seed. So that I wouldn't transform into a Dragon."
"What?!" Irene for once looked absolutely shocked, and outraged even. "… The Dragons, had a way to prevent the transformation?"
"That was probably the case for Natsu and Gajeel too." Erza noted.
"Heh, I see… So, by sealing themselves inside your bodies, they prevented the seed's growth. Hehe, the Dragon who gave me my power, Belserion died in battle. I took over his name… and vowed to avenge him. And after all this time, there was a way to prevent the transformation?" Irene began grinding her teeth in outrage, her face vibrant with pure anger. "Don't fuck with me! That's not fair!" Irene unleashed a colossal blast attack of energy.
Erza clicked her teeth, morphing her artificial Mangekyou into the Rinnegan. "Shinra Tensei!" With a great gravitational force, Erza dissolved Irene's attack into nothing.
"Give me back my life! My time!" Irene shouted in pure anger, as she continued to launch a series of red energy blasts. Erza moved swiftly between them, using the spectral blade in her right hand to slash through the blasts.
"Wendy!" Erza called for assistance, and Wendy quickly used Advanced Enchantment to boost up Erza's strength, durability, speed and her weapons.
"You have no idea what I am experiencing on a daily basis, do you?!" Irene declared as with a raise of her hand, the entire ground beneath them exploded into a violent tower of scarlet red energy.
"Wendy! Erza!" Carla called out from above, not able to interfere unless she wished to die.
The dust cleared, and Erza was standing before Wendy. The spectral energy of her Susano'o blade having expanded to the size of a shield, having used her Adamantine Armor's shield and defenses also. Out of breath, and battered and injured, Erza collapsed to her knees. "You are still standing?" Irene walked out from the smoke, completely free from injury. "Good…" Irene mumbled almost sounding relieved. She even sounded like she had regretted her little outburst.
"Erza…" Wendy quickly used her skills to try and heal Erza of her bruises and burns.
"I never got to tell you the origin of your birth, did I Erza? Well, it links to the origin of Dragon Slayer magic itself." Irene seeing that both Erza and Wendy would need time to recover, began telling her tale.
400 years ago, in the Dragnov Kingdom.
A kingdom where Dragons who allied themselves with humanity had decided to make their home, and help the humans resist the oppressing anti-human faction. And leading these Dragons, was the Dragon of Virtue, Belserion. Here Dragon's lived at peace with humans, under their rightful ruler, Queen Irene.
"Irene." The Dragon Belserion walked into a garden field, where Dragons mingled together with humans. And his point of interest, was in the Queen who was the spitting image of Erza, Irene.
"Belserion, you have returned." Irene welcomed her friend with a bright smile. Although quickly noticed something was different. "You look troubled. Is something amiss?"
"The Dragons of the west are attacking and devouring humans. It won't be long before they descend upon our land of Ishgar. It may already be too late to stop them." Belserion like all the peace Dragons, wanted to protect their human allies. And were willing to fight against their own kind to protect them. This was the beginning of the war that would be known as the Dragon King's Festival.
Irene was even back then quite the skilled sorcerer. Able to use enchantments to strengthen even a mere stick and grant it the power to cleave through an iron sword. But even with her sorcery skills strengthening their army, it still wasn't enough. The Dragons of the west attacked, and Irene and her Dragon allies were pushed back. The sheer number of the anti-human faction heavily outnumbered them.
Belserion even soon realized, they would lose this war. But he was still resilient to fight to the bitter end, no matter how many would die. Belserion went this far for the humans, to repay a debt of Irene's ancestor who saved his life many years ago. That is when Irene decided to join the battle, and came up with an idea. "Your power… Could you not attach it to me?" Irene requested of Belserion.
"Bestow a Dragon's power… onto a human?" Belserion himself sounded unsure of the idea.
But Irene was determined. "A power with which I could fight against the evil Dragons. The power of a Dragon Slayer." Irene, the mother of all Dragon Slayers, and it all began here. Irene suspected it might be possible, after all, she had heard the tale of two brothers who a few centuries prior, had power bestowed upon them by Devils and Gods and created the infamous God Slayer and Devil Slayer magic.
With this power, many soldiers and mages volunteered to learn magic from Dragons. And they raised an army of humans, with power to penetrate through a Dragons scales and flesh, a power capable of slaying a Dragon. But many began suffering side effects of this power. It gnawed away at its human vessels. There were those that could not control themselves and went on a murderous rampage, even against their allied Dragons.
And in the worst cases, the seed would take root and grow within them causing a transformation. "Lady Irene, forgive me… but your face." A guard spoke to his Queen, who was baffled at his words. When suddenly her once fair skin began falling apart, revealing white Dragon scales in their place. At that time, Irene was already pregnant with Erza.
Erza's father was a general of a neighboring nation, one proficient with the sword and wielding a magic known as "The Knight", able to transport weapons and armor through a dimensional pocket space. His name was Rung. It was purely a political marriage.
Despite his strong military attitude, Rung had shown caring sides of himself that Irene had admired. When Belserion fell in battle, he helped Irene care for the dying Dragon in his final hours. But one thing ended up sparking a fear in Rung, and led him to fear all Dragons. The appearance of Acnologia, the now Dragon King, was an entity of pure destruction. He quickly brought an end to the war, and slayed thousands of Dragons regardless of their side. In the end, Acnologia alone had stopped the war, and was the sole winner with everyone else losing.
So, when Irene began showing signs of transforming, Rung turned on her. "Not another step, monster! Or I shall cut you down!" Rung declared, already gripping onto his sword.
"It is I, Irene! My face will surely heal, so please!" Irene tried to plead with her husband, but he wasn't listening.
"This wench will surely become just like Acnologia!" Rung's declaration had all guards tremble in fear.
"No, I will not! I love Dragons deeply-"
Irene's reply was met with anything but compassion. "And that makes you an enemy of humanity! Seize this foul Dragon woman and banish her to the dungeons!"
"Stop this! Please, I am pregnant with your child-"
"The child of a monster is no child of mine!" Rung quickly shut Irene down, with a small hint of regret in his eyes, but his fear overpowered any form of regret or compassion in his heart.
From then on, Irene had to endure torture, beatings and public humiliation. Irene however had one shred of hope left, her child. Swearing to protect it with her life. But the father, did not share this sentiment. "Dragon bitch, the day of your execution has been decided." Rung confronted Irene within her cage.
"Please… I beg of you… if nothing else spare my child." Irene wept, pleading with the man who had once been capable of kindness but which fear overpowered him now.
"I've had quite enough of your lies! This "child" has been in your womb for three years now! No child takes three years to be born! And you are not even showing any signs of pregnancy!"
"That is because I have cast magic on it. I cannot possibly give birth in these horrid conditions!" Irene's words had Rung shakingly hesitate for a moment, before he drew his sword.
"There is no child! I will cut you open and prove it!"
"NO! Please! You mustn't!" Irene pleaded, hoping Rung would stop. But he actually slashed his sword at Irene's stomach leaving a permanent scar. Irene screeched in pain, and suddenly the scales grew rapidly around her body and wings erupted from her back.
Rung backed up in utter shock and disbelief, starring into the feral angry eyes of Irene who growled at him like an actual monster. "S-Stay back-!" Rung cried as Irene suddenly grew into her Dragon form, squashing Rung into a bloodied stain on the cold floor beneath her claw. With a mighty roar, Irene unleashed a breath attack that destroyed the castle she had once called home. And then, her entire kingdom burnt down in her outrage.
Irene, now a Dragon, fled the scene and to the skies. "I am a human! I detest this body! I am human! Someone, help me! I want my human body back!" Irene cried to herself in despair, her love for Dragons having vanished after all these years. Irene Belserion, fled into hiding.
But no help came for Irene for the next hundreds of years, then he came. "Now this is a rare sight. A Dragon that still exists." The calm chilling voice of a man carried through the mountains as he approached Irene.
"Who are you?!" Irene questioned this sudden human who had entered his domain. No, his scent was different from a mere human.
"No, pardon me. You are human, aren't you?" The Black Wizard, Zeref Dragneel smiled calmly as he eyed the majestic Dragon form of Irene. His majesty, was unparalleled in his magical talents and knowledge. What Irene could not do for hundreds of years, he could in mere moments and gifted her back her human form.
Irene for once, wept tears of pure joy. Dressed in the same rags she had from the prison, but regardless the tears would not stop rolling. "I'm human again! I've regained my human form! Ahh! I-I've finally!"
"Only in appearance, it is regrettable but you've long since-" Zeref tried to speak, but Irene through her sheer joy didn't hear any of it.
"Thank you! Returning to this form is more than enough! I'm happy beyond words!" Irene had to admit, she would perhaps have fallen for his majesty with him being her savior. But something about him, or for some reason, she felt no attraction. But regardless, she was grateful to her savior.
But soon, tragedy would strike again. Irene found herself unable to taste any food, no matter how much she ate it would not satisfy her nor would she taste anything. She became unable to even sleep. "It itches! It's cold! It hurts! Why?! What is this feeling?! All I've ever wanted is to be human again!" The echoes of Zeref's words of warning going on repeat in her mind like a ghostly echo. "I'm human! I'm human! I'm human! All I want is to give birth to my human child… human… life… there is a human life inside me. A human body… If I could just enchant myself onto this unborn baby within me… I could finally get my hands on an authentic human body!" Irene's eyes were distorted and maddening, having fallen into despair.
"A new existence! A new body! A new life! I am you and you are me! Let us become one, my child!"
Back in present day.
Wendy looked absolutely shocked and horrified by the tale, while Erza looked indifferent as she stood back up. "But it was a failure. It was… impossible for me. After that, I lost all interest in you, and left you in some backwater small village."
"… And that village was Rosemary, was it not?" Erza asked, still with an indifferent look to her mother's story of her origin.
"I've long since forgotten." Irene revealed, much like her daughter she looked indifferent.
"… I suppose. You should have thanks for bringing me into this world." Erza admitted, still with an overall indifferent tone, but with a small hint of pity in her words. "I am also grateful that you threw me away… Because that led me to meet my true family." Erza declared, and Irene's lips grew into a smirk.
"Heh, you are nothing like your father after all. You don't squirm like a pathetic worm in the face of my wrath." Irene gleamed at seeing her daughter standing tall before her.
"Although I am grateful in the part my birth father played to bring me to this world. I still, only have one father and one parent." Erza's resolve remained unyielding, and unbroken. Seeing her daughter's eyes glaring at her, still so indifferent despite having been told of her origin. It spoke volumes to Irene, Erza was strong. An unyielding spirit she had obtained through various important people in her life. Jellal, Simon, Rob, Itachi, and Makarov. All had strengthened her mentally, while the rest of her guild pushed her to become stronger to protect them and look out for them like an older sister would.
"… You certainly didn't get that from me." Irene quietly mumbled to herself, genuinely smiling for a brief instant. Then she resumed her attack, launching a blast wave of energy from her fingertip.
"Sky Dragon: ROAR!" Wendy jumped in to intercept, launching a massive tornado twister blasting forward at the blast wave. Erza took her chance to rush forward as well with Irene's attack stalled by Wendy's breath attack. Raising her right hand, Erza's blade carrying the flaming aura of Itachi's Susano'o suddenly caught ablaze in black fire. "Amaterasu!" Slashing her blade down with great force, Erza created a giant fire slash wave that split both Wendy's and Irene's attack in half.
Irene lightly groaned as the heat of the black flames tickled against her skin. Her skin having turned white with Dragon scales to resist the heat on instinct. Irene simultaneously cast a barrier that took on the fire. The black flames burning around her barrier. Through the gaps of the intense fire, Irene noticed Erza rushing down at her from the air. And Wendy amplified Erza's abilities even further. "Physical ability raise! Deus Eques!"
Erza's body glowed, as her physical stats doubled from Wendy's enchantment. With both her swords raised, Erza aimed to slash through Irene's barrier. "Ho, that's cute." Irene giggled and snapped her fingers. "Deus Zero." And just like that the added stats vanished from Erza.
"Deus Zero!" Wendy however, counterbalanced Irene's cancelation enchantment with one of her own. Thus, Erza's boosted aura and physical stats returned.
"That's an advanced level enchantment." Irene said with a surprised gasp, not having time to react as Erza slashed her blades through Irene's barrier. "I must say, for such a tiny body you have a lot of potential." Irene giggled, having blocked off Erza's blades with her left Dragon hand. The white claws unleashing a calming energy of the Sage Dragon. "Too bad, with Belserion's Sage powers, my enchantments are amplified tenfold in comparison to yours." Irene revealed as her muscles swelled and she launched Erza flying back with a mere shockwave. "Not to mention… Absolute Zero." Irene pointed her staff at Wendy, as a giant eruption of steam emerged out from the tiny Dragon Slayer's body. "This enchantment drains you completely of your magic power and stamina. No more spells from you to interfere in this."
"Wh-What's this… I… I can't…" Wendy mumbled as she collapsed onto the ground. "My magic… I can't feel it… I can't even move." Carla quickly swopped down from the sky, and grabbed onto Wendy. "Sorry… Erza. I can't… anymore. Can you take it from here?"
"Of course, leave it to me." Erza declared confidently, as she now stood alone to face Irene. "Just hang on, I will settle this soon."
"You cocky little brat." Irene glared at Erza, and swiped her arm to the side unleashing a massive dome of energy. Carla grabbed Wendy and flew away at max speed, but Erza managed to jump out of the way on her own, though not completely unharmed as her feet were burnt.
With a mere movement of her arm, Irene created space rifts around Erza that all collectively shot waves of energy moving in circular motion towards Erza midair. Erza however moved with great agility, and was able to weave and dodge the blasts by jumping from pieces of towering rubble. "I protected you for 400 years. And you weren't even useful to me as you were born!" Irene shouted at Erza, as she was evading blast after blast.
"I sympathize with your misery… And I even understand it. But still, I won't lose! My misery might not have been as bad as yours, for unlike you I wasn't alone in my times of pain! Perhaps that is the difference between us!" Erza slashed her blades through Irene's attacks, the Spriggan women starting to get angrier by the minuet.
"You dare… lecture me on misery?!" Irene grinded her teeth as they turned into fangs, and her body began to grow into a monstrous size. With a smack of her hand, Irene had knocked Erza crashing to the ground.
Erza backflipped out from the small crater left from her crash, and gazed up as she was faced with the might of a Dragon. Irene, in her Dragon form towered over Erza and roared in her face. "You still wish to fight?! Foolish girl!" Irene slammed her claw down towards Erza, who narrowly managed to roll out of the way.
Erza gasped as the shadow of Irene's tail loomed over her, taking a giant leap back Erza narrowly avoided the smack of Irene's tail that split the ground beneath them. "As long as I draw breath! I will fight!" Erza declared, causing Irene to visibly flinch.
"Fool… utter fool!" Irene growled, as she also simultaneously remembered her younger self who was eager to join the battle against the evil Dragons, and created Dragon Slayer magic. "In that case! I will start fighting for real! No more cuddling and holding back!" Reeling her giant head back, Irene charged up a breath attack. "Sage Dragon: ROAR!"
Erza stared down with wide eyes of terror, as a blast attack that blocked out the very sky came hurdling towards her. What should she do? The answer came obvious, she couldn't dodge so she had no choice but to block it. Her artificial eye morphed into the Rinnegan, and pulsated with power. "Shinra Tensei!" Using what she remembered from seeing Itachi use during their travels, Erza utilized a perfect gravitational push. The wall of gravity pushed hard against Irene's breath attack. Blocking it off like a giant spatial wall of air. Erza grinded her teeth, putting in so much focus to her eye that it started to shed tears of blood.
Irene on the other hand, looked visibly conflicted, her eyes gazing down at the struggling form of her brave daughter continuing to resist the inevitable. All Irene had to do, was add more power and pressure to the blast. And Erza would end up overwhelmed. So why? Why didn't she? Irene's thoughts were all over the place. Her mind mostly on Erza, but also on her Emperor. Irene was loyal to his majesty without fault, he was the one who had helped her after all. 'I… I have to kill her! For the empire! For his majesty! I have to kill…! I have to… kill my daughter.' Irene dwindled her power for a brief moment, and the clash of her breath attack to Erza's gravitational push imploded on each other.
Erza flew crashing into a broken wall, blood erupting from her mouth as she did. While Irene skidded backwards in her massive Dragon form. "I… I have no choice." Irene glanced up into the sky, and spread her wings. "As I told your friend earlier… As the Sage Dragon, my enchanter skills have been amplified tenfold! In all of the heavens, the sea and the earth! My power transcends all!" The clouds were pulled apart, as Irene's power reached beyond into outer space. "Deus Sema!"
Erza glanced up in horror, as a giant meteorite big enough to block out the sky came plummeting down at great speed. "I-Impossible… How am I supposed to…" Erza mumbled, for a brief moment she was at a loss for words. "If that hits… I will undoubtedly die… no, not just me. Everyone will… I-I can't let that happen!" Erza steeled herself, her body coated in a bright red light similar to Jellal's magic, as she shot up like a red beam towards the sky.
"What?!" Irene herself was baffled at what her daughter was doing. "Going straight at the meteorite, how stupid can you be?!" Sounding genuinely concerned; Irene spread her wings as she was about to take off. 'Wait… why was I about to… save her? No, no, I…' Irene's mind filled with thoughts of her daughter, seeing her bravely struggle till the end. And then thoughts of her Emperor, and how angry he would be if she failed him. After all he has done for her. But… what about all I did for my daughter? Am I about to let that go to waste as well?
"Requip!" Erza's body was coated in a bright light, as she put on her strongest armor. "Nakagami Armor!" A short revealing robe that was tied together by a ribbon at the waist. The armor featured large shoulder pads decorated with lion heads with decorated greaves to match the outfit. She had a rhombus shaped tiara on her head and a large sash that loops over her head. In the place of her blades, Erza had gained a giant golden halberd with a circular handguard at the center.
"She can't be serious…" Irene mumbled, sounding like her heart would break for a mere moment. Mentally forcing the meteorite to slow down ever so slightly. 'No! No! I can't betray his majesty or the Empire!' Irene scolded her soft heart, and pushed on with the meteorite plummeting down at the approaching Erza.
"At some point people started to call me Titania. To be honest, I never really cared much about that nickname. But if you are the Queen of the Dragons. Then being the Queen of the Fairies isn't half bad." Erza smiled, even in the face of such impossible odds. "Master! Watch over me and lend me your strength to protect our family!" Erza tightened the grip on her halberd, as it oozed off a bright red aura. "Ethernano Blade!"
Erza knew this wouldn't be enough, so she went all out. "Onii-san! Lend me your strength!" Erza's artificial eye bled tears of blood once more, as her glowing halberd caught ablaze in black fire. Her eye felt like it was about to explode, as she added a gravitational pulsating pushing force onto her halberd. "Inferno Nakagami Starlight!" Erza pierced the burning halberd into the meteorite.
Irene gasped from where she stood, as black fire exploded out from various corners of the meteorite. As Erza continued to blast through the meteorite. With the added destructive power of Amaterasu and the power of her Nakagami Armor which allows Erza to cut through even space itself. The meteorite burnt from within, and was torn apart. "Shinra Tensei!" Erza roared from within the meteorite, as she unleashed a gravitational push that obliterated the meteorite.
"I don't… believe it." Irene was absolutely stun locked, not even making an effort to move out of the way. As she just looked up at her daughter coming plummeting back down. Her armor nearly stripped from her body, with various burns and bloodied bruises on her body. Having clashed with the meteorite had also broken a few bones in her body.
"Prepare yourself!" Erza stretched her left hand out towards Irene, her Rinnegan pulsating once more for one final move. "Bansho Tenin!" Not having noticed her mother not even making the effort to escape, Erza aimed to prevent any means of escape herself. By pulling Irene's body towards her to face this final strike.
Wendy hovered in the air, as Carla held her up. Feeling some power having returned to her, Wendy shakingly lifted her hand. Enhancing Erza's blade with Dragon Slayer powers. Erza seeing her opportunity for the final strike, unleashed a battle cry. Irene glanced at the falling form of her daughter, and didn't even make an effort to blast her out of the sky. 'My child… has gotten so strong without me.' Irene smiled, as Erza slashed her blade down across Irene's torso.
Irene roared to the heavens in pain, as her blood poured out from the nasty slash wound on her body. Irene shrank back down to her human form, while Erza collapsed onto the ground. Erza, stripped of her armor and left in a black training bra and shorts, breathed heavily. As her arms and legs felt like jelly. 'My vision is blurry… I can hardly move. I feel dizzy. I see… so that is how draining Onii-san's eye is.' Erza's right eye closed itself, as it needed to rest from having overused too much power and needed time to recharge. These were the side effects for someone with the Sharingan who lacked the body of an Uchiha to go with the eye.
Irene stood over her daughter, injured but still strong and able to fight. "You are such a foolish stupid girl, Erza." Irene could very well end it here. She had won the battle. Erza had no power left to even stand, and Wendy was out for the count as well.
"Heh…" Erza smiled, having to agree with her mother on being foolish. Unknowingly, seeing her smile had Irene frozen stiff.
"…" Wordlessly, Irene lifted her hand and directed it towards Erza.
"No! Erza!" Wendy called out as Carla and her came flying down to try and save her. But they were too late, as Irene fired out a wave of energy onto Erza, and a bright scarlet glow blinded their eyes.
"Uh… huh?" Erza opened her eyes, and stared in shock as she was able to move her arms and legs. Pushing herself up, Erza glanced at the face of her enemy. Irene looked visibly defeated, a look of sorrow on her face as she stepped away. Having used her enchantment to heal Erza and restore some of her lost stamina and energy. "Wh-Why?" Erza asked baffled, even as Carla and Wendy helped her up, she didn't take her eyes of Irene.
"I don't know either… Guess, I just couldn't kill my only daughter." Irene glanced up into the sky, seeing something in the distance she knew time was limited. "Forgive me… your majesty. I've failed you. I couldn't repay my debt to you."
Irene had never wanted to kill Erza she knew it but at the same time she couldn't betray Zeref. And thus, was forced to fight her own daughter. "I was telling the truth before… About how I wanted you to join up with us in the Empire. I started imagining having you by my side. But… when I saw and heard how indifferent you were towards me being your mother, I knew I couldn't convince you. So, you were an enemy of the Empire… And I realized I had to kill you for his majesty and the Empire as a result instead. But in the end… I couldn't do it."
"But why couldn't you?" Erza couldn't even understand or comprehend, for she herself was not a mother, so she couldn't understand such a simple fact.
"Because I've always loved you…" Irene revealed, as she shed a single tear.
Flashback
Alone in the forest, and weakened from childbirth. Irene breathed heavily as she held onto her newborn daughter. "Thank goodness it's a girl… My new body, my new life." Irene's eyes looked maddening as she gleamed. "If I can enchant my whole personality into this child. I will be able to bid farewell to this cursed body. I have been waiting for 400 years for this exact moment… Now… become my vessel."
Irene shakingly mumbled, as she glanced at the smiling infant Erza's face. The child laughing and giggling in its mother's arms. "Why are you laughing?" Irene shook, tears rolling down her eyes. "Why? I endured 400 years of suffering you know… Don't make me hesitate. This is undoubtedly the truth. This is my child, I always loved her. Don't laugh…" Irene flinched as the child reached its arms out towards her, smiling. "Don't laugh at me!"
The child then grabbed her tiny hand onto one of Irene's fingers, and the mother broke down sobbing. Canceling out her enchantment. "I… I can't do it." She held onto her child closely.
Irene knew she couldn't stay near the child, so she chose to discard her before she was driven mad. To protect her child, she left her outside of a monastery in a small village.
Flashback end
"Even if I said it, you probably wouldn't believe me…" Irene mumbled, clenching her fists. "You need to go… The rest of your comrades are currently fighting against August."
"All of them are fighting one man?" Erza looked a little shocked by that statement.
"It won't matter… no matter how many of them gang up on August, they can't win. Before I met August, I had believed that his majesty Zeref was the pinnacle of all magic. But… when I saw him for the first time, he was still a young man. August at his peak wielded magic power that surpassed even that of his majesty. I was always curious, why August bowed to Zeref if he was stronger than him. Perhaps he knew his majesty's immortality meant he could not be overthrown even if August wanted to."
"Even as powerful as he is, I doubt one man can take on the entirety of Ishgar by himself. Don't underestimate the strength of Fairy Tail." Erza seemed confident in their chances.
"… Don't take August lightly, Erza. Even if his current power has dwindled from his physical peak. And even if in his old age he is now weaker than his majesty. August is still stronger than I am. Power aside… my main reason for this warning, is because August is the one enigma I could never crack when it came to the Twelve. I have no idea what he is thinking, what his motivations are, nor about his wants and desire. All he seems to do, is serve Zeref without question… That and he puts a great deal of confidence in his apprentice Brandish." Irene sounded genuine in her warning, as the second best of the Twelve, Irene knew all too well of the power their General had.
Erza was a little visibly distraught, but nevertheless she remained determined that they could still win over this August. Even if he was stronger than Irene who Erza in the end had to admit, could not defeat. "What will you do now?" Erza asked her mother, who flinched at the question.
"… Pay the price for my failure." Irene lightheartedly sighed, as she sensed it incoming. "Also, one more thing about August. If you lot somehow push him too far, he might use his trump card ability which-" Before Irene could attempt to warn them of August's ability, something crashed before them like a mighty meteorite. "I wasted too much time!" Irene clicked her tongue, as the smoke cleared around this entity.
Erza stared bewildered at this sensation of magic power. She knew she had felt it before but couldn't recognize the face. A dark-skinned man with marks of dark black like scales around his face and other tattoo marks on his body. With one arm, and a torn cloak and wild dark blue hair. This man smirked as he glared at Irene. "I've grown bored of this world… Black Wizard… Madara. I smelled the scent of E here earlier, but he is gone it would seem. Nevertheless, I found you, Scarlet Despair."
"Bored? My how dreadful. Perhaps I should end your boredom along with your life." Irene playfully smirked at this man, stepping defensively in front of Erza and Wendy.
"W-Who is he?" Erza whispered, noticing Wendy was absolutely petrified and trembling.
"… My failure." Irene revealed as she unleashed her aura, and gained white dragon scales on her body.
"You are the one who made Dragon Slayer magic… in a sense that makes you, my mother. My sin." The man sinisterly glared as blood lust leaked out from his very being.
"My, such a rude unruly son I have created." Irene played around with the man, giggling as she tore off her cloak. "Acnologia-san." Irene revealed this human-like entity to be the Dragon King, Acnologia. And now Erza was officially on full alert, making sure Wendy and Carla stayed behind her.
"Hn?" Acnologia now noticed Erza, seeing her standing next to Irene. "That little girl… has a similar scent to your own." Acnologia noted as he glanced towards Irene. "And that little child… is a Dragon Slayer?" Sniffing the air some more, Acnologia noticed something else. "Ho? And the one who shares your scent… She has genuine Dragon blood flowing through her veins as well. I see, you gave birth to her as a Dragon?" Irene dropped her smile, and now glared at the smirking Acnologia.
'Erza… has genuine Dragon blood?' Wendy questioned, and suddenly her nose smelled it too. It was small, and subtle but it was there. It certainly would explain Erza's monstrous strength and level of magic power.
Acnologia smirked, and pulled his arm back preparing for an attack. Going for the weakest prey, Acnologia leapt over Irene and went straight for Erza and Wendy. "Genuine Dragon blood is no good! I will prevent any new generation of Dragons to rise!"
Irene swiftly moved in at blinding speed, and erected a barrier between them and Acnologia. Lightly grunting and struggling from her fresh wounds, Irene pushed back Acnologia with all her might. "You will not… harm my daughter!" Irene snarls at Acnologia, and Erza looks baffled at this sudden action from her mother.
Acnologia is launched backwards from Irene's barrier, dragging his feet in the dirt he chuckles. "You've gotten weaker since our previous encounter. I see, you're quite injured."
Irene doesn't pay Acnologia any mind, and instead turns to look at Erza. Erza once again looks baffled, as her mother sheds a tear. Erza stands in total silence and in awe at seeing this act. Irene reaches her hand out to caress Erza's cheek. Smiling, Irene shoots a magical arrow into Erza's head.
"Erza!" Wendy reacts to this, thinking it might be an attack. But no, it is Irene sharing her memories with Erza. From her background, betrayal of her husband, years of suffering from having turned into a Dragon, the madness that plagued her mind over not having a proper human body, and finally Irene giving birth to Erza, her being unable to harm the smiling giggling baby. Every thought Irene had, the struggle she experienced fighting the madness of her own mind, and the genuine love she felt for her only daughter. Leaving Erza in Rosemary village. Going to the Empire to serve Zeref.
Then, Irene's thoughts during the war, from seeing Erza for the first time again when using Universe One. And her thoughts. "My child lives… She looks so much like me." To after her battle with Mavis. "I need to find Erza. If I can convince her, then maybe… I can have her by my side." To their reunion and Erza's original indifference to learning who she was. "No. I can't betray the empire. I must kill my own daughter for his majesty… But I… I just can't." Irene's own inner struggle during their battle, and every moment of hesitation, moments she could have killed Erza but didn't.
And finally, her final thoughts in the current moment as she caressed Erza's cheek. "Once more… I wanted to see you smile happily once more." All she couldn't say out loud, all her thoughts were in Erza's head.
Erza was visibly shaken up, with Wendy holding onto her trying to shake her awake. Irene smiles at her daughter for one final time. "Goodbye." Irene mumbles as she manipulates the earth itself beneath Erza, Wendy and Carla. Teleporting them away in a flash.
"Trying to hide her from me? Once I kill you, I will hunt her down without fail!" Acnologia cackled at this seeming worthless act.
"And she… and her fellow Dragon Slayer friends. Will slay you." Irene retorted, having resolved the fact that she couldn't win. Even at full capacity, Irene doubted she could beat Acnologia.
Erza, Wendy and Carla appeared miles away from Irene. And were actually near the battle against August. Wendy and Carla both silently gazes to Erza, who is shaking and shedding a single tear out from the corner of her left eye. "Erza…"
"Pay me no heed." Erza wipes the tear away, not wasting time she requips her armor back on, she looks with her usual strong resolve and marches towards the sounds of battle. "We have no time to dwindle. We must head to the battlefield." Erza declares as they march towards where the Spriggan General August, was practically fighting the majority of Ishgar's forces. 'Goodbye… mother.' Erza offered one final thought for her mother, as she marched forward not looking back.
All the while, Irene's destructive battle against Acnologia shattered entire surrounding islands and ravaged any nearby continents with their destructive power. "Kahaha!" Acnologia cackled over the prospect of killing the creator of this cursed magic art. Throwing his fist forward, Irene morphed her hand into a Dragon arm and caught his fist.
"Sage Dragon: ROAR!" Unleashing a point-blank breath attack into his face, Irene launched Acnologia high into the air.
"Interesting!" Acnologia gleamed as he stared at the emerging Dragon form of Irene. With a chuckle, Acnologia transforms into his Black Dragon form and roars in the face of Irene. "I shall be the last Dragon! I shall destroy! Everything!"
"Heh, if I take any consolation in all this! Is that no matter what you will die in this war! If not to the Dragon Slayers! Then to his Majesty! Or to Madara!" Irene and Acnologia met in a headbutt clash, that sent destructive shockwaves across the land. Acnologia reeled his only arm back, charging a destructive wave of magical energy. Irene caught it in her one hand, and took advantage of the handicap and used her second hand to punch Acnologia. "Sage Dragon: World Claw!" Her claws leaving a scar on Acnologia's face.
Acnologia however roared into Irene's face, and slammed his jaws onto her right arm. Irene roared in pain, and slammed her jaws onto Acnologia's neck as they wrestled midair. Although due to her previous injuries, Irene was too weakened and Acnologia ended up smacking her out from the air with his tail. "Kill me? I will kill all there is on this planet! I will kill Madara! And fight Zeref for the rest of my life!"
"Dragon or not, even you can't withstand the Death Waves of his Majesty if you get too close. That is why you have never destroyed this world before. Well, that and that other Dragon on the far western continent." Irene revealed, there was another Dragon out there. And that had Acnologia fuming.
"So, you were aware of his existence all this time? Heh, no matter. Once I slay you, your daughter and all the remaining Dragon Slayers in this world, I will have obtained enough power to fully overpower him, instead of risking a death match that can end either way!" Acnologia trampled onto Irene, stepping right on the slash wound across her right shoulder. Irene roared, using enchantments she boosted up her own strength and pain tolerance. Moving her head up, she headbutted Acnologia pushing him off. Then wrapped her tail around his neck to strangle him.
"Slaying me… Won't be so easy as you think!" Irene whipped her body around, and tossed Acnologia crashing into a valley of mountains.
Acnologia shot up like a bullet from the destroyed valley, his black wings spread out to the sky like a bad omen. Charging up a breath attack, Acnologia aimed to end it all here. Irene feeling her power fading, put her remaining strength into her own breath attack. "Sage Dragon…!" Irene glared up at Acnologia who lightly chuckled tauntingly at her efforts. "Ether Dragon…!"
Both then threw their heads forwards, spewing out gigantic waves of energy. "ROAR!" A scarlet red wave, and dark blue wave of destructive energies clashed in midair. The entire sky dyed purple, as the entire land shook from the destructive tremors.
"Goodbye… mother." Irene was still linked with Erza's mind, and as such she heard her daughter's final thought to her. Smiling, even as Acnologia's wave totally overpowered her own, Irene stared up into the sky with the blue light approaching. 'I suppose… I was a proper mother to you after all, eh? Erza? You will only grow stronger from here on, stronger than I ever was.' Irene smiled, as she was consumed by Acnologia's breath attack. Her body vaporized in the blast, followed by a giant explosion that left a black smoke mushroom cloud. The land they were standing on gone, leaving only a whirlpool of the ocean beneath. At last, Irene was free from her cursed fate. Free of suffering. Having felt her daughter's love towards her, in her final moments. Such a foolish kindhearted child she turned out to be. Irene giggled to herself as her final thought of Erza washed away into the wind. Such ended the tale of the founder of Dragon Slayer magic, Irene Belserion, the Dragon Queen. Leaving behind her greatest legacy, Titania Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail, her only daughter.
Seeing his opponent was no more, the Dragon King Acnologia let out a victorious roar to the heavens. Symbolizing his victory. Reverting to his human form, Acnologia landed on the edge of the land overlooking the sea. "… Not enough, still not enough!" Acnologia snarled, sniffing out the remaining Dragon Slayers on this continent. "Not counting her daughter… there are a total of seven Dragon Slayers on this continent. I will slay you all! And then Madara as well!"
With Irene's death, Universe One came undone. As the entire landscape of Ishgar glowed in a bright Scarlet red light. August hums as he sees this light, knowing what it symbolized. As did Zeref who paused from his fight with Mavis. Erza seeing this light, also knew what it meant and clenched her fists.
With Universe One undone, all of Ishgar returned to its proper place. Suddenly, Gildarts and all the others fighting August found themselves back in Magnolia. Along with several others such as Gajeel, Levy, Sasori, Kisame, Kakuzu, Sting, Rogue Kagura. Everyone of Ishgar's forces, with a few exceptions were currently present in Magnolia.
Mavis was in Magnolia, but inside the Fairy Tail guildhall with Zeref. Natsu, Lucy, Brandish, Dimaria and Happy were outside of the city in the wilderness somewhere. Itachi was on a remote island, gathering nature energy. Gray, Juvia, Lyon, and Ultear were also absent.
"We're back in Magnolia?" Mirajane noticed, spotting Erza and Wendy next to her. "Erza! Wendy! You guys look…" Mira was about to say how beaten up they looked, but something else caught her eye. "Erza… that is, Itachi's…" Having noticed Erza's artificial Rinnegan.
"Yeah, and I can see he gave you some power also." Erza as well had noticed Mirajane's Satan Soul: E form.
"Erza!" Jellal came flying in, startling Erza for a moment as she noticed the sparky blond hair.
"J-Jellal?" Erza lightly blushed at seeing the dashing Jellal.
"I'm glad you are safe." Jellal put his hands on Erza's shoulder, both clearly having gotten significantly stronger in this war.
"Mm, I knew you would be safe." Erza smiled warmly at Jellal, lightly shaking still from her encounter with Irene.
"… Erza, are you… feeling alright?" Jellal asked, he hadn't felt Erza shake like this since he fell to the darkness all those years ago.
"Mm, I will tell you about it later." Erza steeled herself, as this war was still not over.
"Great to see you, Scarlet." Erza Knightwalker greeted along with Mystogan, as those that remained of Edolas Fairy Tail were here as well.
"Such an emotional reunion." Laxus sighed, seeing some people gawk at his change. "What?" Laxus tilted his head in slight confusion at the looks he was getting. His Red Lightning Dragon King mode was a majestic sight to behold with that mane of his.
"You seriously have to ask that question?" Commander Itachi gazed at Laxus with a raised brow. This Laxus was truly clueless it would seem.
"Geehee! The gang's all here! Except for that stripper and Salamander." Gajeel noted, his change also sparking some curious looks.
"Don't forget Lu-chan, Juvia and Itachi." Levy pointed out.
"Yeah, yeah, we're all together again and that's great! But we have to focus here!" Gildarts took command and pointed out cautiously, as he gazed up to the top of the town's cathedral. Holding his daughter Cana close to him, and with Beatrice readying her blade as she too glared to the top of the cathedral.
The General of the Spriggan Twelve, August stood atop of the church and stared down at this sea of enemies before him. His gaze drifting towards a nearby fountain, where he saw Invel Yura of the Twelve frozen in a thick layer of ice with a horrified expression on his face. Once a trusted advisor of his majesty, now an ice sculpture acting as a bird hotspot. "Hmm, I see… So, Irene has met her end. And Invel, Brandish and Dimaria are all beaten. That means, I am the last of the Twelve standing. So be it." August unleashed such an immense pressure of aura, that everyone within the town flinched as they gazed up at this monster of a man who was about to take on the remaining forces of Ishgar by himself.
Meanwhile, further up north of Ishgar, Gray, Lyon and Juvia collectively stared down the Ghost of the Uchiha, Madara. Madara smirked at Gray, who powered up in his Devil Force form. Before any of them could jump into action however, the terrain beneath them glowed red. Gray, Lyon and Juvia were all collectively caught off guard. "What's happening?" Gray mumbled.
Madara crossed his arms and smirked as he knew what this meant. "Ho? Someone must have eliminated Irene…" The ground beneath them expanded, as a bright light overcame them.
Gray, Lyon and Juvia were still together although stood now way further apart. But all the nearby troops had been pulled away. Madara was gone as well. Quickly Gray felt for Ultear, she was still nearby, but as was another presence of great power. Probably the Second in command Lyon had been hunting for Gray thought to himself. And then, something came charging towards them.
Gasping, Gray looked ahead, seeing a giant snow storm building up as Madara flew towards them like a bullet. "I will not be denied!" Madara declared, black fire demonic markings spreading across his face.
"Fine by me! I wanted to kill you anyway!" Gray roared back at Madara, and before either Juvia or Lyon could stop him, he had leapt towards Madara. Reeling his dominant fist back, Madara smiled wickedly from ear to ear.
"Yes~! That's the spirit!" Madara laughed as he reeled his dominant arm back, and launched his fist forward like a cannon. Going off like a sonic boom as his fist clashed with Gray's, blowing a giant explosion wall of snow around them. "Such hatred… Maybe it's you after all~" Madara thinking he had encountered his long-lost child at last, was left bitterly disappointed as he didn't notice a trace of chakra within Gray.
"I'm going to kill you! I will rip your fucking head off for what you did to gramps!" Gray lashed out in anger, throwing a spin kick to Madara's chest, launching him backwards.
"Ugh!" Madara's face twisted in pain, Gray's kick had broken through the chest plate of his armor and shattered four of his ribs. Blood leaked out from Madara's closed mouth, as he skipped backwards like a stone in water. 'No chakra… yet he holds so much power for a boy his age!' Madara gave a bloodied smirk, his Demonic darkness beginning to heal him. No wait, something was wrong. 'My healing factor has slowed down?' Madara was visibly stunned, and Gray continued his assault.
"Ice Devil: RAGE!" Unleashing a violent storm from his mouth, Gray blasted Madara at near point blank. Sending the feared Madara Uchiha skidding backwards as he struggled to hold off Gray's attack.
'Such weight and power!' Madara was resilient, but at this rate he would be overcome by the blast. Having to increase his own power, Madara entered Stage 2 of his Demon transformation. Gaining giant black demonic claws in place of his hands, the claw big enough to fully grab onto Gray's blast and squash it in its mighty grasp.
"Ice-Make: Snow Tiger!" A giant ice statue tiger came running out from the snow storm and towards Madara. The beast was slow, but the style of this magic was clear. It was Ur's maker magic. Madara slapped the rushing ice tiger aside, shattering it in one swift move. 'The other one…' Madara looked to his second attacker, Lyon. He was far less impressive than Gray, and like Gray he didn't have any trace of chakra either.
"Water Nebula!" Waves of water this time, came washing down onto Madara who quickly with a single hand sign inhaled his breath. "Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu!" Spewing out a giant blazing ball of fire, Madara vaporized Juvia's attempted attack.
"I be placed in bewilderment…" Madara mumbled through the steam, walking through it with his Demonic darkness continuing to spread in order to boost up his healing factor. Reaching into his pocket, Madara presented a picture. A picture that had both Gray and Lyon shocked. It was a picture of them as kids, with their master Ur. "I can tell neither of you are my child… so just what is your relationship to Ur?"
"We're her students!" Lyon replied as he got into a stance. And on closer inspection, Madara noticed that neither of the two boys really resembled him or Ur. Gray was the one who Madara considered a possibility of being his child at first. Mostly due to his black hair and cold facial expressions.
Madara sighed, Ur had taken on students? Last time he checked, his beloved had no intention of taking on a student. Had becoming a mother changed her perspective? Madara was certain Ur bore him a child, he had felt it, a presence in this war that was a perfect mixture of Ethernano and Chakra, an ice wizard. "And what of my child?" Madara narrowed his gaze at the two boys.
Both Gray and Lyon visibly flinched at the question, and Madara took notice. "If neither of you are mine and Ur's child. And neither of you are willing to tell me of my child… Then I shall force whatever information I can from you." Madara unleashes waves of demonic power, darkness flowing like water across the entire landscape. Entering his Partially Transformed state, as he gained a cloak of darkness. Widening his eyes, Madara's Rinnegan pulsated with power and the terrain beneath him was torn.
Gray quickly acted and shielded himself, Juvia and Lyon from the flying debris of rocks and ice. "You won't get anything out of me bastard! I'm going to kill you for what you did to Gramps!" Gray leapt over his barricade and charged at Madara.
The Ghost of the Uchiha threw his dominant fist out to clash with Gray's, their sheer power altering the terrain and causing massive shockwaves. 'Even if he isn't my blood… this boy is able to match me in my Partially Transformed state with the Rinnegan? What is the source of his power? My fist feels like it is going numb getting into contact with it.' Madara was for once amazed, outside of Acnologia, Zeref and August, Gray was one of the strongest wizards he had ever encountered in this world.
Madara threw his left fist at Gray's head, and again to Madara's surprise, Gray was able to react to his attack speed, and grabbed Madara by the wrist. 'He stopped it?' Madara with his right fist locked against Gray's, and his left restrained by Gray. Madara glared with his Rinnegan eyes into the seething glare of hatred he felt from Gray's three eyes. 'That third eye of his… is of demonic origin. Is he some kind of demon? No, he feels human. A Slayer?'
Both locked in a power struggle, Gray with veins bulging around his arms and temple as he tried with all his might to push Madara back. "I must say I am pleasantly surprised. I never imagined a youngster wizard like you to reach this kind of level. You may not be of my blood. But with that intense hatred in your eyes, you might as well be. You remind me so much of myself in my younger days."
"I'm nothing like you!" Gray seethed and pushed back.
"Hehe, no, you are right. Your hatred is lacking after all." Madara smirked and suddenly his aura intensified and Gray found himself quickly getting pushed back. A dark blue spectral fire surrounded Madara, and grew into his upper body Susano'o.
The spectral giant, raised its four blades over Gray and aimed to skewer through him. However, just as the spectral blades are about to be brought down, a chilling explosion of ice emerged, and it wasn't from Gray. Gray looked baffled himself, as a spell he and Madara both were familiar with. Giant ice rose vines grew and ensnared themselves around Madara's Susano'o.
Gray was suddenly yanked backwards, and Madara turned to the assailant and looked in disbelief. The face of an angry woman stared back at him. Madara was fully caught off guard as he recognized the face before him. "Ur?" Madara whispered in pure shock. The woman before him, looked just like Ur, just with longer and darker hair.
Ultear, had jumped in to save Gray. "You fool! I told you to run!" Gray scolded, but Ultear did not listen. She reeled her dominant arm back, and then her eyes turned into the Sharingan as she thrusted her arm forward at her father. The ice vines, grew ice roses and blasted into the caught off guard Madara.
"Ugh!" Madara grunted as he was actually blown back by Ultear's spell. Madara opened his eyes, and his eyes were wide in disbelief as time seemed to stand still, as for the first time, father and daughter met face to face.
That's the end for now!
I wanted to make one thing clear at the end of this chapter, which is also going to be important for this story going forward into its sequel after this arc. Yes, I do plan on doing the 100 Year Quest arc, but it is mostly going to be original, and when I mean mostly it's nearly entirely original, with maybe the start being the only thing similar to the actual 100 Year Quest manga. Meaning, as hinted in Irene's fight with Acnologia, there will only be one Dragon God out there. Just one. I have my reasons for this, and it will all become clear in the future. No disrespect to the 100 Year Quest manga or anything, but I wanted to try something different. I will just say this as a final hint for my future 100 Year Quest story, the age of Dragons have passed, it's time to move on.

-Later!
(Responds to reviews):
Shadow Joestar: Thanks! Things are about to go down!
athallah: No problem!
AnimeLover7597: You are very welcome! Hope you enjoyed this one as well!
Oscar Jacquot: Thank you for the compliment. We are reaching the end here now. I estimate about 8 more chapters before we reach the end of this arc. And thus, the end of this story before we move onto the sequel. If I am to bring anyone back, yes then Madara would be the realistic option to cast Rinne Rebirth. Whether I would do it however, eh, wait and see, I guess. And yes, I know Aquarius reunites with Lucy in 100 Year Quest, and I have played with a few ideas in my head on a way to bring Aquarius and Leo back, although they won't be the same people if that makes sense. I would view it as a reincarnation for the spirits, every time one of them die, they get reincarnated with a new personality sort of. After all, death needs to have some sort of consequence.
keybladelight: The reunion is coming up next chapter! No point in keeping that a secret, so get hyped!
DarkReaderSeiin: Larcade was on a whole other level compared to the rest of the Twelve. Irene and August are levels beyond that again, with August according to Irene having been stronger than Zeref in his prime. When I imagined writing Larcade's death, I wanted it to be as intense as possible to represent what kind of a true monster he was. With Irene, I wanted it to represent her continuous sacrifice to protect her daughter in the face of the overwhelming might of Acnologia. This arc will have maybe 8 more chapters before we reach the end. And then I will mark this story as complete, and move on to the sequel 100 Year Quest, which will be my own original ideas mostly.
InfiniteShadow3: If you reach this far, then Itachi mostly sticks to Ninjutsu but he has a little magic as well. But yeah, mostly Ninjutsu and Demonic Power at this point.
