Lloyd hummed to himself as he walked down the hallways, the subtle sweeping of his broom filling the air as he made his way. Using the end of the handle he knocked on Arin and Sora's room.
"It's almost twelve you two ready to get up?"
There was a slight sound of disgruntled protesting before reluctance. The door shuttered open, and two sleepy children walked out, their messy hair flopping all over the place. He couldn't help but chuckle at it.
"Go on ahead and brush your teeth, I'll fix breakfast and help with your hair soon."
The two kids walked like zombies towards the bathroom. Smiling, he returned to sweeping the hall. Once he was finished with sweeping he went into their room, grabbing the sheets and the laundry basket.
"Alright that's two things done let's see," he pulled out his list, the rest could wait till after breakfast.
Walking into the kitchen he saw the two kids trying to get onto the high stools without much luck. Picking them up he placed them onto the seats, they still felt way too light for their age.
"Where's Akita?" Arin plucked a red apple. "I thought she was staying for a while?"
"She is, but she needs to go back to her people to let them know what is happening, so she'll be gone for a little while." Lloyd tried to hide the sadness in his face. "But anyways, what do you two want to eat this morning?"
The two ended up deciding on pancakes, as he prepared them he grabbed Kai's hairstyling kit. Placing the plates of fresh pancakes in front of them he moved behind them and began to work on their hair. Silently he braided Sora's hair. Then he worked on Arin's getting it into the style he liked. Smiling at his work he finally ate his pancakes.
"Oh that's right I have a gift for you two," he clapped his hands together and picked up a medium-sized box, setting it on the table. "I was up all night making them, they are your Gi's."
"Gi?" Sora whispered, pulling out the white suit.
"It's the name for the ninja suits!" Arin yelled, grabbing his yellow one.
"He's right, I tried to match them as best as I could," he smiled. "Sora, since you've shown more interest in machinery yours is more of a mechanics suit, and Arin I tried to get the same color as your hoodie, so if you want you can wear both." He picked up the box. "You don't have to wear it, it's just an option."
Arin immediately ran off to the bathroom to change into it, while Sora wasn't as sure but still ended up going to the bedroom to try it on.
Smiling further at his work he dropped the box in front of their bedroom and walked out to the courtyard. The picture of a smiling Master Wu was off to his side, almost as if it was smiling at him. Walking over he sat next to the picture.
"It really has been quiet Master Wu," he fiddled with his thumbs, looking out at the open sky. "I miss you, and the rest of the ninjas, Mom, Dad, everyone, I hope I can start to look for you all soon, I just need to prepare first."
Lloyd thought to himself what would Master Wu say?
Almost as if carried by the wind Lloyd could hear it clear as day. "Patience, nephew, the path will be revealed when it is ready."
Lloyd smiled to himself that would be something he would say, as he stared into the sky he wondered what his enemies were planning at this second.
Nokt tapped his finger on the table. As he suspiciously eyed his allies. What were they planning and could he overcome them? They were tricky and he knew they were gunning for him, they always do.
"Five of a kind," he smiled, placing down four aces and a joker card.
"Hah! I have High cards!" Rox placed a king, queen, a seven, four, and a three.
"Not so fast!" Zarkt placed a card down. "I Digivolve Black WarGreymon to Omnimon Zwart!"
"Go fish!" Drix placed their cards down.
"I play Black Kyurem EX with lightning energy and two normal energies." Kur rasped, placing the cards down.
Nokt leaned back rubbing his head as Rox flipped the table. A heavy sigh left him as he tried to control his migraine, while Rox, Zarkt, Drix, and Kur began to fight amongst themselves over who won.
Lloyd smiled to himself, whatever they were planning he was ready.
Arin and Sora popped up next to him wearing their new Gi's.
"Do you two like them?" He turned his head to properly look at them. The arms and legs flapped as they walked around in them.
Arin's eyes were dazzling as he practically vibrated with excitement. "Of course!"
"A little too flappy in the arms and legs, and it lets in the cold air." Sora criticized her eyes squinting at her limbs.
"That's because there's more to be done," he smiled, motioning for them to sit as he stood. "You see, the mountain up here is cold, so you need to wrap your arms and legs."
He motioned to his arms and legs. He began with Arin, pulling a pale green he wrapped his legs and arms. "There we go, you'll get the hang of it in no time."
He handed Arin a piece of paper giving more detailed instructions for when Arin wanted to practice on his own.
Sora's was a little bit more baggy, but he could tell she was enjoying the look more due to its uniqueness, as he wrapped around her arms and legs, in the end, he used a navy blue for her wrap. "There, now I know you're not as much of a ninja fan and I don't want you to feel pressured, but because you're under my care, I wanted you to have this option."
It dawned on Lloyd he practically knew nothing about her, other than her name. He would have to try harder to get her to open up.
"Thank you," she whispered a look of happiness coating her face.
"Now, I'm going to start my training for the day," he stood up stretching. "Would you two like to join me?"
He remembered the other day, how they had done a few exercises, but nothing he would call true training. Arin was excited and Sora was showing a glimmer of it too. With both on board he started with the basics, they had a long road ahead of them if they wanted to be ninjas but he felt excited to teach them.
