Chapter 18

Borg Tower

"Why is this so important, father?" a 13-year-old android girl asked.

"Ninjago needs a defense system just in case something happens," her father said.

"I do not understand what could happen. There are no major threats. The police force can handle any crimes that are going on. Why is this our concern?"

"Trust me on this. There are some things that the police will not be able to handle. We are just doing our part to help protect people. You'll understand how important this is for Ninjago someday."

The android girl did not understand what her father was talking about. There is no major threat to Ninjago. Ninjago is a safe place. Yes, she trusts her father, but she thinks this defense system is a bit too much. For now, she will just do what her father says. Maybe he is right and she will understand why this is necessary someday.

PIXAL was currently flying to Borg Tower in her mech with Zayn on her shoulder. Their fathers were in trouble and they were going to do whatever was necessary to save them.

"You know this place well," Zane said. "Do you have any ideas for how we can stop the Skulkin from hurting our fathers?"

"I helped my father install a defense system a few years ago," PIXAL responded. "I know how to activate the tower defense system." PIXAL flew them to the window of the room where she could access the defense system. PIXAL used the mech to break the window and they hoped that none of the Skulkin heard. They waited outside Borg Tower for a few minutes, until it was obvious that the Skulkin had not heard.

The entered the room and PIXAL immediately jumped out of her mech and went to the control panel. She took off her helmet as she worked on trying to start up the tower defense system. "I will watch the door," Zane said. He was going to keep an eye out for any Skulkin that might possibly try to come into the room. So far, it looked like the Skulkin hadn't noticed anything, but they shouldn't let their guard down.

"I just need two more minutes," PIXAL said five minutes later. They then heard Skulkin outside the door.

"I do not believe we have two more minutes," Zane said. He started freezing the hinges on the door to hopefully buy them more time.

"It is activated," PIXAL announced just as the Skulkin knocked down the door. However, before the Skulkin could even attempt to attack them, they were shot by a stun gun that was attached to the wall.

"I do not need to be worried about that, correct?" Zane asked.

"No, it took me so long because I was adding you into the system as a non-threat. My father, myself, all Borg Industries employees, and anyone he does business with. We should be alright while moving through the tower to get to our fathers."

"This tower belongs to your father. I will follow you."

PIXAL put her helmet back on, got into her mech, and started walking through the halls of Borg Tower with Zane following closely behind. PIXAL had a feeling their fathers were at the top of the tower in Cyrus Borg's office as that's where he conducts almost all his business meetings. That's where he was most likely meeting Dr. Julien.

Zane and PIXAL were trying to be as stealthy as possible, but they could only be as stealthy as the mech would let them. The mech does draw attention. They managed to take down any Skulkin that caught them quickly and quietly as they made their way up to the top floor.

Once they got there, they noticed that Cyrus Borg's office was the most heavily guarded room in the whole tower. A few of the Skulkin were knocked out on the ground, but it looks like the rest took care of the stun guns which meant the defense system up here wouldn't help them anymore.

"Do you have any ideas, Zane?" PIXAL asked.

"Yes," Zane responded. He threw his shurikens as a distraction and PIXAL took the cue to knock them all down with her mech. It worked well. The two androids worked really well together.

They opened the door and one Skulkin was standing there as if he was waiting for them. "Finally! You white ninja and Samurai X took forever," the Skulkin said. "By the way, I'm Kruncha. Glad I could finally introduce myself."

Zane noticed his father as well as PIXAL's father tied up and gagged in chairs a few feet behind Kruncha. He slowly took a few tentative steps around Kruncha and noticed the Skulkin just watching him. He continued walking until he was in front of the two fathers. PIXAL remained in the same spot which made Kruncha stand in the middle of the room with Zane on one side and PIXAL on the other. Zane froze the ground and PIXAL slid over to Kruncha and knocked him into a wall.

Both androids went over to their fathers and removed their gags. "PIXAL! My daughter! She could be in trouble in the tower! You have to help her!" Borg pleaded.

"You do not need to worry about your daughter," PIXAL said and then removed her helmet. "I am right here."

"PIXAL? Did you create this mech?"

"No, one of my friends did. She is a ninja."

"I have to find my son!" Dr. Julien exclaimed. "I don't know what other parts of Ninjago are being attacked!"

"Your son is alright," Zane said and took off his hood. "I am also here."

"Zane? You have ice powers! How is this possible?"

"It is a long story which we will explain later. Right now, Ninjago is in danger. Our team had to split up. We do not know what kind of danger they are in."

"Well, I have a way we might be able to help them from here," Borg spoke up.

"The defense system!" PIXAL said with a smile. She had been waiting for a long time for a good reason to activate the city-wide defense system.

"Precisely." Borg walked over to the console in his office and PIXAL stood beside him. Together, they began to activate the city-wide defense system.
