A/N: The next chapter is the return to the dojo. Johnny's going to be celebrating Cobra Kai winning the All-Valley because nobody cheated or fought dirty. I've got a few things planned for Season 2 (or the equivalent), and I'm putting those plans together. Season 2 has some of my favourite scenes/moments in the series, and I'm looking forward to writing them.

I'm changing Jason Kreese's face claim from Barrett Carnahan to Jack Griffo.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai or anything else that I might reference.

Jason drives back to his house after having breakfast at Hawk's house and hanging out with Hawk and Demetri.

He parks the Dodge Viper in the driveway and takes his backpack and sports bag out of the car after he gets out.

Jason walks over to the front door of his house and opens it.

He brings his backpack and sports bag inside before he closes the door and put his keys back in his pocket.

It doesn't take all that long for him to unpack.

He puts his backpack and textbooks back where he'd put them.

Jason brings his sports bag upstairs and unpacks everything before leaving his sports bag in his room.

He walks back downstairs after he's finished unpacking.

Jason is looking forward to returning to the dojo on Monday.

There wasn't any training during the week because of finals and Sensei wanting to give them a break after the All-Valley.

He had agreed to show Philip around the Valley after finals were over.

Jason had kept in contact with Philip more than he had kept in contact with Lindsay and Brad.

Partly because he'd been so busy.

He's got his socks on in the house and his shoes are near the door.

Jason puts on his shoes before he walks to the door and opens it.

He has his wallet, phone and keys with him.

Jason walks over to the Dodge Viper and unlocks it before getting into the driver's seat.

He turns the radio on as he drives off.

It's a relatively short drive from his house to Brad's house.

So, it's not like he's going to be alone in the car for very long.

.

Jason parks the Dodge Viper near the driveway of Lindsay's house.

He gets out of the car and walks up to the front door before he knocks on it.

It doesn't take long for someone to answer the door.

"Jason! What's up?" Philip opens the door.

Jason notices that Philip has a newspaper from a week ago in one of his hands.

The headline reads: Cobras draw first blood at All-Valley.

Below the headline was a picture of Jason and Aisha standing with their respective trophies for winning the All-Valley.

Jason looks back at Philip. "You want me to sign that?"

"No, it's okay. I just thought it was cool that you were in the paper for winning the All-Valley. I wasn't expecting karate to be such a big deal over here compared to back in Denver." Philip replies.

Jason smiles. "That's why you joined Miyagi-Do, right?"

"Kind of. I mainly wanted to keep on training. Miyagi-Do is way different to my dojo in Denver, even if some stuff is kind of the same. I wasn't doing chores in Denver, for one thing." Philip replies.

Jason grins. "That's why I'm in Cobra Kai. Well, that and I joined Cobra Kai with Miguel. I don't think Sensei had me doing chores apart from when Miguel and I helped him get the dojo up to code before it opened properly. And, I was training before I joined Cobra Kai."

"Who else trained you?" Philip asks.

Jason runs his hand through his hair. "That's kind of a long story."

"Oh. Well, you don't have to tell me now if you don't want to." Philip says.

Jason shrugs. "Alright. I did say I'd show you around the Valley, and I'll do that."

"Cool. I already told Mom and Dad that I might be heading out. So, you don't have to worry about telling them." Philip answers.

Jason watches as Philip closes the door behind him.

They walk over to where the Dodge Viper is parked.

Jason unlocks the Dodge Viper and opens the door before getting into the driver's seat while Philip opens the other door at the front and gets into the passenger's seat.

They both put on their seatbelts before Jason starts the car.

Jason was going to show Philip around the Valley, but they needed to get lunch first.

.

Jason parks the Dodge Viper outside an Applebee's. Or, more specifically, the Applebee's where Cobra Kai had their victory.

They get out of the car and walk into the Applebee's.

It's fairly busy, so there is a bit of a wait before they get a table.

"Are you guys waiting for a table?" A waitress walks over to them.

Jason nods. "Yeah."

"A table has just opened up. Over here, I mean. I'll just get you menus." The waitress replies as she goes to get menus before walking to the empty table.

Jason and Philip make their way over to the empty table and sit down on either side as the waitress puts menus in front of them.

They watch as the waitress walks away before they turn their attention to the menus.

Jason has a quick look through the menu. "We could split a plate of nachos and order wings."

"That sounds like a good idea." Philip agrees.

Jason smiles. "Awesome. So, what wings are you going for? I'm going for Honey BBQ wings."

"Teriyaki wings." Philip replies.

Jason nods. "Good choice."

"And we could get sodas. Mainly because it's a little early for beer." Philip remarks.

Jason agrees. "Good point."

"Have you decided what you're going to order?" They're asked by the same waitress who showed them to their table.

Jason looks at the menu before looking up. "We'll have a plate of nachos to share. And I'll have Honey BBQ wings."

"I'll have teriyaki wings." Philip adds.

The waitress takes their order. "Will you be ordering anything to drink?"

"A Coke. If you have it." Jason and Philip answer at the exact same time.

The waitress takes down that part of their order. "Great. Is that everything, for now?"

"It is." Jason replies.

The waitress takes the menus. "It's not going to take too long for your food and drinks to arrive."

"Thanks." Philip says.

The waitress walks away with the menus.

Jason sits back in his chair. "I'll show you around more of the Valley after lunch. There are a few places I think you'd enjoy. Like Golf 'N' Stuff or the roller rink."

"A roller rink? What are you, ten?" Philip teases.

Jason chuckles. "The roller rink is pretty cool. That and I know someone who works there."

"Really? Who might that be?" Philip asks.

Jason is quick to answer. "Tory. She might have a few rough edges, but she's cool. And you can get food and sodas at the roller rink."

"Of course, you'd try and bring the conversation to food." Philip rolls his eyes.

Jason smiles. "What can I say? I'm consistent. And, I'm hungry."

"I think I already knew that." Philip retorts.

A waitress brings over their drinks and puts their drinks in front of them.

Jason leans forward in his chair slightly. "So, how have Mom and Brad been while I was staying at Hawk's house? I was going to ask earlier, but I just didn't get around to it."

"They've been good. And, they understand why you needed space to process Mom coming back into your life and bringing Dad and me into it. Hopefully things will go smoothly." Philip replies.

Jason nods. "I'm pretty sure that things will go smoothly. I just needed to concentrate on finals. Which was why I had decided to stay at Hawk's house."

"So, what are your friends like? Seeing as I probably will be seeing them during the summer and beyond." Philip asks.

Jason thinks about the question. "They're pretty friendly. Miguel is pretty much my best friend out of everybody in Cobra Kai and in our group of friends, more generally. I think you'd get along with him."

"What about some of your other friends?" Philip asks.

Jason quickly answers. "Leonard might be a bit of a clown, but he's alright. Hawk acts tough, but he's a nice guy deep. Demetri is a bit whiny but he's actually pretty smart. And then there's Robby."

"Oh. And what's so different about Robby?" Philip wonders aloud.

Jason explains. "He's a bit quiet. Or taciturn. Whichever word you want to use. He also doesn't drink alcohol."

"So, you've got a girlfriend? Right?" Philip asks.

Jason nods. "Yeah. Claire's great, and her parents are pretty chill. I met her before last summer and we started dating after she joined Cobra Kai. In fact, she was Cobra Kai's first female student before Aisha joined. Oh, and Sensei is her godfather. But I don't know if that's entirely relevant. Even if it was a part of why she joined."

"Right. Isn't Aisha the other champion?" Philip asks.

Jason nods again. "She is. And she's also best friends with Sam. You'll probably meet her at some point given that Brad works for her dad. And she'll be joining Miyagi-Do."

"Great." Philip says.

Jason smiles. "Don't get too hyped up. She's going out with Miguel."

A waitress brings a plate of nachos over to their table and sets it down in front of them.

"Figures. But there's plenty of other girls in the Valley." Philip remarks.

Jason grabs some nachos. "Exactly."

"Just don't tell Miguel I was planning on making a move on his girlfriend." Philip says as he takes a few nachos.

Jason nods. "I won't. It's a safe space. Just don't get the wrong idea, though."

"I know." Philip replies.

Jason takes some more nachos. "So, have Mom and Brad joined the country club?"

"Kind of? Mr LaRusso, or Daniel, put in a good word. And we're members of the beach club, as well." Philip answers.

Jason grins. "Nice."

They talk and eat their nachos until the plate is empty.

A waitress walks over to take the now empty plate.

It doesn't take too long for their wings to arrive after that.

"Summers in Denver were great, but I'm really starting to like summers in the Valley." Philip says.

Jason takes a bite out of a wing. "Awesome."

"Yeah." Philip takes a bite out of a wing, as well.

They don't really say much as they gradually eat the wings, leaving the bones on one side of the plate.

The two of them use napkins to clean their fingers before they drink their sodas.

A different waitress walks over to their table and takes their plates.

She looks over at them. "Do you want anything else? Or do you want the bill?"

Jason and Philip both look at each other before they turn their attention back to the waitress.

"Dessert? Two brownie sundaes, please." Jason answers.

The waitress takes the order. "Alright. Two brownie sundaes coming right up!"

Jason and Philip watch as the waitress walks away.

"Are you still going to be able to show me around the rest of the Valley?" Philip asks.

Jason nods. "Yeah. We've got plenty of time. So, don't worry about it."

"Cool." Philip replies.

Jason sits back in his chair. "It's Saturday. And it's summer. Which means that you can take things easy. So, don't worry."

"I'll keep that in mind. Thanks." Philip answers.

The same waitress from before brings them a brownie sundae each and spoons.

Jason and Philip watch as the waitress places spoons to one side before putting the brownie sundaes in front of them.

The waitress looks over at them. "I assume that you're going to be getting the bill after this, right?"

"Yeah." Jason answers.

The waitress nods. "Alright. Well, I'll leave you to it."

Jason and Philip eat their brownie sundaes in relative silence.

They call the waitress over to them when they've finished eating before Jason pays the bill.

Jason and Philip leave.

There are still some more places in the Valley that Jason would have to show Philip.

.

Jason parks the Dodge Viper in a parking space near the roller rink.

He opens the door on the driver's side and gets out while Philip opens the door on the passenger's side and gets out.

They walk over to the roller rink and head in through the door.

It's relatively busy, so there is a crowd.

They see Tory and walk over to her.

"Jason?! It's been a while since I've seen you here. And you've brought a friend, too." Tory says.

Jason nods. "Yeah. Well, I was busy preparing for the All-Valley and studying for finals. By the way, this is my stepbrother, Philip. He moved from Denver relatively recently."

"Oh my god, there are two of you." Tory deadpans.

Jason laughs. "We're stepbrothers but we're not the exact same."

"So, did you win the All-Valley?" Tory asks.

Jason grins. "Yep. I won the boys' All-Valley and Aisha won the girls' one."

"Cool. Are Cobra Kai looking for students?" Tory wonders.

Jason nods. "Yeah. There will probably be more people looking to join Cobra Kai after the All-Valley. You should definitely join. Or at least think about it."

"Maybe. It's summer, which means that Brandon's off school. And, I've had to look after him more since my mom got sick. So, I'll have to think about it." Tory replies.

Jason scratches his head. "Will you at least consider it?"

"I'll consider it. Just as a favour to you." Tory answers.

Jason grins. "Great. Well, we'd better get going."

"Thanks. I think I'd better get back to work." Tory says.

Jason and Philip decide to leave the roller rink.

Mainly because Jason still had to show Philip a few more places in the Valley.

.

Jason went home after dropping Philip back at Brad and Lindsay's house.

He'd get gas tomorrow before getting some groceries.

The good thing about summer was that he didn't really have to keep to a routine. Which meant that he could pretty much do whatever he wanted outside of training and various other things.

Jason was about to order food when he heard the doorbell ringing.

He gets up and walks over to the door.

Jason opens the door and is surprised to see Kreese standing in front of him. The old man was holding a six pack of beers and there was a Lincoln Continental parked near the house. Which was probably his ride, because Jason could see the driver.

"Do you mind if I come in?" Kreese asks.

There's something in the tone of the old man's voice that suggests he is not in the mood to negotiate.

Jason takes a couple steps back and watches as Kreese walks into the house before closing the door behind him. "I was going to say that I don't mind, but I'm not entirely sure if that matters."

"Congratulations on winning the All-Valley. I had a feeling that it was going to be either you or the Mexican." Kreese remarks.

Jason isn't quite sure how to respond. "Thank you? Also, Miguel isn't from Mexico. He's from Ecuador. Totally different country. That being said, I don't think you showed up outside my house just to congratulate me on winning the All-Valley. I'm sure there's something else you wanted to talk to me about."

"I went to the new Cobra Kai dojo after Cobra Kai swept the All-Valley. Johnny and I got into a scuffle, but it ended before major damage was done. I also had a meeting with Johnny on Monday and I offered to return to Cobra Kai on a more or less permanent basis. But he refused. I think he may have changed his mind, or is at least considering changing his mind. You're one of his best students, so you would have to have some insights." Kreese replies.

Jason frowns. "I don't know. Sensei can be pretty set in his ways sometimes. So, I really don't know what you have to say that could convince him."

"Actually, there is something I potentially have to say that could convince him to change his mind." Kreese replies as he takes a beer can and opens it.

Jason takes a beer can and opens it before taking a drink. "What could you possibly say to change his mind?"

"There's a chance that Johnny could be my son." Kreese answers.

Jason almost spits out his beer in shock. "What? How?"

"I was in a relationship, or an arrangement that was happening concurrently to my relationship with Evelyn before I decided to just focus on Evelyn. Laura was something else, but she was in a relationship with somebody else. We spent a few nights together before Laura got married and I started pursuing Evelyn. And I assumed that would be that. But she was pregnant. And then she got married and we fell out of contact with each other afterwards." Kreese begins.

Jason finishes his beer and crushes the can. "And then what happened? You and Grandma get married? Sensei joins Cobra Kai?"

"Evelyn and I did get married, and she was pregnant." Kreese answers.

Jason takes another beer. "You didn't tell Sensei that there's a chance he's your son? Which would make him my uncle, right? And that would Robby my cousin, too?"

"I didn't. And, yes, that would make him your uncle. Keene would be your cousin." Kreese replies.

Jason watches as Kreese finishes his beer before taking another one and opening it.

He opens his beer and takes a drink. "Why didn't you tell Sensei that he could be your kid? Is it because you did such a shitty job at parenting Dad? Or is there some other reason you didn't tell him?"

A silence fills the room as Kreese thinks about the questions while also taking a drink.

"It would have made things complicated. And it would have opened up accusations of favouritism on my part. After all, I let Johnny join Cobra Kai because I saw potential in him. Nothing more, nothing less." Kreese answers.

Jason understands. "Oh. Will you tell him now?"

"I'm not quite sure. I think he'll change his mind and let me come back properly. And I might not have to tell him." Kreese replies.

Jason looks confused. "So, why did you tell me that you might be Sensei's father?"

"Because I wanted it to be out in the open. And because I couldn't just tell Johnny." Kreese says.

Jason takes a drink of his beer. "Right. Because you wanted him to change his mind on you coming back all by himself."

"Exactly." Kreese finishes his beer and takes another one.

Jason takes another beer. "So, where exactly are you staying? If you don't mind me asking?"

"I'm staying somewhere that belonged to a friend. It's not fancy, but it's enough. So, you don't have to worry. I've said as much to Terry, too." Kreese replies.

Jason opens his beer and takes a drink. "Did you tell him about Cobra Kai sweeping the All-Valley? Or did he just find out about that by himself?"

"He found out about it by himself. It was in the paper and everything. And, even if it wasn't, he would have found out pretty quickly." Kreese replies.

Jason watches as Kreese opens the beer can and drinks.

He takes another long sip.

They don't really talk again until they've finished their beers.

Jason looks over at Kreese. "Are you guys disappointed that you didn't bring back Cobra Kai yourselves?"

"I don't think disappointed is the right word. I wasn't quite sure if Cobra Kai would ever be revived, at least not by Terry and I. Johnny did a very good job at training you. But there's something I'm wondering…." Kreese starts.

Jason scratches his head. "Oh? What is it?"

"Were you holding back during the All-Valley? There's no way you would have gone to sudden death with Diaz otherwise." Kreese answers.

Jason shrugs. "I guess I was holding back a little. I just wanted to make it interesting."

"But you still won." Kreese says.

Jason nods. "Yeah. I'm not going to hold back next time."

"Good. Especially now that people have seen a glimpse of what you're truly capable of. You'll be unstoppable in next year's All-Valley, but you're going to have to work for it." Kreese has a slight smile on his face.

Jason understands. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm not going to slack off."

"I know you won't." Kreese leans over and gives Jason a pat on the back.

Jason isn't sure if he should return the gesture or not, so he doesn't.

He clears away the empty beer cans and the container the cans were in afterwards.

Jason returns to the living room and sees Kreese sitting down on the smaller sofa.

He sits down on the larger sofa. "I'm going to order something to eat. You want anything?"

"No thanks. I should probably be leaving around now, anyway." Kreese replies.

Jason shrugs. "Alright. Well, don't be a stranger."

"I won't." Kreese says.

Jason watches as Kreese gets up from the smaller sofa and walks towards the door.

The old man opens the door and steps out before closing the door behind him.

Jason takes out his phone and scrolls through numbers looking for a restaurant that does takeout and delivery.

He finds the number he wants and calls it.

The long conversation that he had with Kreese had revealed a lot of things. Like the possibility that Sensei might be Kreese's son. Which would make Sensei his uncle and Robby his cousin. And add to the different complications in his life including Kreese potentially returning to Cobra Kai and dealing with Lindsay being back in his life.

Maybe it was a better idea not to think about it.
