Inside

Another day, another ball to attend. Since this particular ball was being thrown by Lady Danbury, this was not one they could decline. The Queen would certainly be in attendance.

Flicking through her wardrobe for something to wear. It was a joy to look through her wardrobe these days. Not a citrus colour amongst the dresses hanging there.

"Is there a theme to this evening?" Colin walked in behind his wife. He hoped not.

"Spring is in the air. So I need to find something floral." She had been so busy with their son and writing a novel of her own to organize a new dress.

"Well, Madam De La Croix dropped this off this morning while you were out with Elliot." He handed her a box.

She felt a twinge of guilt that she hadn't visited with Genevieve recently. The modiste had been a good friend to her when Eloise wanted nothing to do with her after finding out about Lady Whistledown. She was still getting used to being a wife and mother as well as being known to the Queen. Opening the box she found the most beautiful pale lavender gown. "This is gorgeous."

Colin has described the dress to the Modiste who was only too happy to make it up for Penelope. It was a perfect replica of the one she had been wearing in a dream he had. Right down to the sash at her waist. He had marvelled at the intricate beading and the flowers sewn on it which must have taken hours to sew by hand. "Will this work for this evening?"

"It is perfect." Penelope moved in front of the mirror and held the dress up against herself to get an idea of what jewellery was going to enhance it.

"I cannot believe how close to what I described she made it." Colin was already replaying the dream in his head and Pen wasn't even wearing the dress.

"Where did you see this dress to describe it?" Pen hoped it wasn't from the women he had been with overseas before they were married.

"In my dreams after our first kiss." Technically two kisses. He easily recalled how stunned he had been. Not only because she had asked him to kiss her, but how he hadn't wanted to stop once he had.

"What exactly was I doing in this dream apart from wearing this dress?" Penelope teased although she was curious.

Colin stepped closer and kissed his wife. As always when he kissed Penelope, things became heated and before he knew it he was kissing his wife's neck. The dress had fallen to the floor. Unlike his dream which he had woken from, he continued his worship of his wife as he slowly uncovered her body, kissing every inch of skin that was exposed.

"That must have been quite the dream." Pen lost all train of thought when Colin dropped to his knees. "Oh!" Oh they were so going to be so late for this ball. If asked, she could not explain how she ended up on the floor in front of the standing mirror with her husband making love to her.

Making love to Penelope in front of the mirror had not been his intention when he had handed her the dress, but it was a definite benefit. How he was going to keep his hands off of her at this ball while she was actually wore that dress he had no idea. Not to mention it was incredibly erotic catching the reflection of their bodies moving in the intimate dance they performed. He almost came undone when Penelope crossed her ankles behind his back drawing him deeper inside her. His wife could be incredibly creative which at this point should have come of no surprise. When she rolled her hips and her inner muscles clamped down on him, he lost control and their combined cries echoed through the room as they found their joint release.

Rolling onto his back so he wasn't crushing his wife, he looked up at her flushed face. "I shall need to buy you more dresses." He joked.

"You spoil me." Penelope breathlessly managed. "Just how often have you dreamed of me?" He was married to her and he had said the dress had been from a dream he'd had after she had asked him to kiss her.

Colin smiled up at her. "Not often since we got married. I have the real thing and she is so much better than any dream. All I have to do is open my eyes and look at you." He kissed her. "How long do we have to stay tonight?"

"At least until the Queen leaves. If you are lucky she will leave early." Glancing at the clock she saw they hadn't left themselves much time to get ready.

"And if I am not lucky?" He helped his wife to her feet, already missing the warmth of her body.

She shot him a cheeky grin. "Then you get to help me out of my new dress when we get home.

Colin chuckled. Either way he was getting lucky tonight.
