[Scene cuts to Jessie in her new car on the way to New York]
JESSIE: [Singing along to the radio] Because she's thinking out loud, just too loud, she's thinking out loud, just too loud, just too loud, just too loud 'cause she's thinkin' out loud [she gets a call; stops singing; turns the car radio down] Hello?
HENRY: Hi Jessie.
JESSIE: Henry?
HENRY: What?
JESSIE: Nothing. You haven't called in two days.
HENRY: Are you in New York?
JESSIE: No, not right now. I still have about ten hours left for the drive.
HENRY: Oh. [pauses] Okay. I'm going to work.
JESSIE: Alright. [an awkward moment of silence]
HENRY: I might move to New York.
JESSIE: You have to be kidding me.
HENRY: No, not at all!
JESSIE: So [pauses] what are you trying to say?
HENRY: [An awkward moment of silence] I kind of like you.
JESSIE: [She seems happy] Okay. But you've always wanted to be a firefighter?
HENRY: But you're better than that.
JESSIE: That's wonderful.
HENRY: And I talked to my parents about it, and it seems like you would be the perfect opportunity.
JESSIE: I agree with your parents.
HENRY: What do you mean?
JESSIE: [Slowly and exaggerated] Nothing.
HENRY: I told my parents what you said about being a dream superstar and singer.
JESSIE: So what's wrong with that?
HENRY: That said that was wasteful.
JESSIE: You at least could of not said that to my face.
HENRY: Well my parents said it. [Pauses] They called you Fan Fiction.
JESSIE: That- That- well, I wouldn't be a real dream come true?
HENRY: Yeah.
JESSIE: Do you have more tea to spill?
HENRY: Not right now.
JESSIE: Okay.
HENRY: Hold on one second.
JESSIE: I know where this is going, don't I? [A long pause]
HENRY: Okay I'm back.
JESSIE: I've noticed.
HENRY: My coworker Kenzie said to not spill the tea.
JESSIE: That they're brewing?
HENRY: Yes.
JESSIE: At least I went to college.
HENRY: Hold on one second.
JESSIE: Are you asking for dating advice?
HENRY: Nobody said that. [Another long pause] Okay I'm back.
JESSIE: I never noticed.
HENRY: At least you did. [Jessie's dashboard starts lighting up with the text 'Dad' for call]
JESSIE: Hold on one second.
HENRY: Why?
JESSIE: Because I said so! [She answers the call; Henry is put on hold] Hi Dad.
MICHAEL: Hey. Me and Luke wanted to know how far you were through the ride.
JESSIE: I still have another ten hours left. But Dad, I'm on a call with a cute boy.
MICHAEL: Let me guess. [Pauses] Is it Henry?
JESSIE: You can read my mind. Speaking of Luke, what is Luke doing?
MICHAEL: Not wanting to be here right now in this conversation.
JESSIE: I don't blame him. [Jessie and Michael both laugh] Well I'll talk to you later Dad.
MICHAEL: You too honey. Bye. Love you. [Sighs] That was kind of hard to say.
JESSIE: We all have to get used to it. Bye. Love you. [Hangs up; Henry is put back on the call] I guess it is really hard to have a life without a parent. I never noticed Dad's pain at all.
HENRY: Me neither. [Jessie gets spooked]
JESSIE: What the hell? [In shock] You were listening the entire time?
HENRY: Yeah. [Hear sirens in the background]
JESSIE: What happened? [A pause]
HENRY: Kenzie just told me some guy set the Kernel Corn Factory on fire.
JESSIE: Oh hell no. [Pause] Well bye.
HENRY: I really have to leave.
JESSIE: Then hang up!
HENRY: I found the button! [Henry hangs up]
JESSIE: [Turns on the car radio again] At least I don't live in Alabama anymore. [Gets a call from Uncle Tom] Did he get out of jail? [She answers it]
UNCLE TOM: You're my next victim.
JESSIE: Tom what do you mean? [He hangs up] That's why Mom was always scared. [She starts crying; the scene completed]
