It has been many months since the fall of Garmadon and the defeat of Sons of Garmadon, but Lloyd and Lydie still felt off by their father's warning of the Oni are coming as they went to Kryptarium Prison with the Warden guiding them as metal doors opened while cameras eyed them.
"This is our new maximum security wing. We've spared no expense, I assure you both." The Warden said to Lloyd and Lydie as the two looked at the cameras following their movements.
"Very wise." Lloyd said to him.
"And extreme." Lydie commented.
"Yup. The entire wing was built for one purpose." The warden said as he did an eye scan at the vault door. "To hold the rottenest egg of all." He said while gesturing to a very dark room with a sphere cell hanging over a dark abyss. "Well, good luck. See you on the way out." The Warden said in fear as he rushed off. "See you two on the way out." He added as the Garma-Twins turned to him in surprise.
"Wait, what?" Lydie asked in surprise.
"Aren't you gonna…" Lloyd tried to ask before the vault door closed and a few lasers covered up the entrance. "Stay?" He finished in stunned.
"Huh, Kryptaruim does have an extreme cell." Lydie commenced in surprise
"Come on sis, let's get this over with." Lloyd said as he flipped a switch that created a pathway as the two made their way to the sphere-like cell while looking down at the dark abyss. "Hello father."
"Long time no see." Lydie said with a look as Garmadon was reading a book about himself, while having the same expression as the cover as he lowered the book and saw his children.
"Well, well, if it isn't the Childrens of Yin and Yang." Garmadon said with a small smirk as he stood up and tossed his book away and got closer to his children. "To what do I owe the honor?"
"You sent for us." Lloyd reminded him with a look.
"Remember?" Lydie followed with the same look. "You said it was urgent."
Garmadon then rubbed his chin. "Did I? Hmm. That doesn't sound like me." He said with an innocent shrug while gesturing to his cell. "I have all the time in the world in here." He said as he turned his back at them.
"Fine, then we'll just go." Lloyd said as he and Lydie turned around.
"Have fun in your cell, dad." Lydie said as they began to walk away.
"Oh yes, I remember now, I did call you two." Garmadon spoke up, stopping the Garma-Twins in their tracks as they turned to face their father. "Do either of you remember the last time we saw each other? What I said?" He asked.
"When they come, nothing will be left." Garmadon's voice spoke up the day they defeated him in their heads.
"You said something was coming." Lloyd said.
"And that something is the Oni, isn't it?" Lydie asked.
"Yes. But you both didn't listen." Garmadon said to them as he turned away. "And now I'm afraid there isn't much time."
"Time for what?" Lloyd questioned.
"To prepare for the darkness, destruction, the end of Ninjago!" Garmadon said dramatically. "And while I'm okay with that in principle, I'd rather not be destroyed along with you two." He said naturally. "So I've decided to help you two fight them."
"Fight the Oni?" Lydie questioned.
"The Bringers of Doom." Garmadon nodded. "You two and the rest of the color coded Ninja are no match for them. There is only one thing more powerful enough to stop them."
"Let us guess, you?" Lloyd asked.
Garmadon sighed with a smirk. "Let me out, and you both might have a chance." He said to them.
"Mmm, how do we put this gently? Lydie said in thought.
"NO!" Both Lloyd and Lydie shouted.
"N-O, in that order!" Lydie added.
"Not if you were the last person in all of Ninjago." Lloyd added as he and Lydie began to walk off. "There is nothing you can say that would make us trust you ever again."
"Especially after what you did to many others, especially to Mystake." Lydie said with a glare. "Goodbye, father." She said as she and Lloyd walked off.
Garmadon watched them walk off with a smirk. "They'll be back." He said with a smirk.
In Ninjago City, everyone was still rebuilding the city from the Colossus and Sons of Garmadon takeover as Borg Tower had returned to its former glory while the last of the rebuilding was being made while some vehicles were stuck in traffic on a highway by a truck and a bus tilted.
"Let's move this as fast as possible so we can get the traffic going." A police officer said as they guided the vehicles to the other highway as there was a roadblock, while the newly rebuilt Earth Driller was among it, inside was Cole, Pixal, Zane, Seliel, and Morro inside as Cole honked the horn.
"Oh, come on! You gotta be kidding!" Cole complained.
"We should've left early." Seliel said to them.
"Of all the times to get stuck in traffic, now is the time?" Morro questioned. "I told you we should've taken my wind glider instead, but no, Cole wanted to take his driller."
"We were supposed to be there 30 minutes ago." Zane said in worry.
"This thing has an enormous drill on it." Pixal reminded them. "Can we not just go under them?" She questioned.
"Oh, can we? Please?" Cole begged as he activated the drill, which made the other people around gasp in surprise.
"Whoa! Cole! Don't do that!" Morro quickly said.
"Yes, I do not think the city will appreciate that." Zane agreed. "They've just finished building this freeway."
"Yeah, that giant Colossus caused a lot of damage, I don't think we should cause anymore, Boulder Brains." Seliel told her boyfriend.
Cole groaned as he turned off the drill. "We're so late! And I can see the harbor right there!" He said as he pointed ahead to the city's harbor just a distance from where they are.
"That's it. I'm getting out." Pixal said with a frown as she opened up the cockpit as she got out and jumped and flipped from one vehicle to another as Zane followed after her.
"Well, might as well join them." Morro said as he jumped out and used his wind to make him fly as he followed after the two Nindroids.
"Kinda jealous that his powers make him fly." Cole muttered before getting out of his Driller and jumped on a truck, only to fall on his back. "Hey guys! Wait up! My foot's asleep!"
"Oh brother." Seliel said, rolling her eyes before jumping out of the Driller, only to fall on her back beside Cole. "Okay, I take that back, because mine are asleep too." She said in embarrassment.
"Why do we have to be the grounders?" Cole muttered as he took out his comlink and pressed it, closing the cockpit as he picked Seliel up. "Let's go."
"Yeah." Seliel said as they walked a bit while Morro, Zane, and Pixal kept going.
"Oh, look, Son! It's the Ninja!" The father said to his son in the car as Pixal, Zane, and Morro went by them.
"Yeah right, dad." The kid said, looking at his phone.
Cole and Seliel were trying to catch up to them, but their sleeping feet were giving them trouble, as they tried to jump from car to car only to land on the one with the dad and his son.
"Curse these sleeping feet!" Seliel said in frustration.
"Come on, feet." Cole muttered as he opened the back door of the car. "Coming through! Sorry! Ninja business!" He said to the father and son.
"Sorry sir, kid." Seliel apologized as she followed Cole out of the car and rushed off after the others.
"Uh, dad? Did you see those Ninjas?" The son asked in surprise as he looked out the door.
"They just duck through our car." The father said, while surprised himself that they duck through their car.
Seliel and Cole kept going before they finally felt their feet. "Yes! Finally!" Cole said with a smile
"Now we can be Ninja!" Seliel said as they jumped over a truck and caught up with the others as they went over the blockade.
"Hey! You can't go over there! The road is closed!" The officer said as the Ninja kept going.
"Sorry! It's an emergency!" Cole quickly said.
"Oh, I didn't know! Never mind! Good luck guys!" The officer called as they went over the highway as Zane used his powers to make an ice slide as they went to the ground as they saw a driver with opened seats as Seliel whistled to him, which the driver stopped.
"To the harbor, as fast as possible." Pixal said as she and Zane got on while Cole and Seliel held onto the back while Morro stood on the top of the vehicle.
"Keep the vehicle velocity within the permitted speed limit of a densely populated area." Zane said to the driver.
"He means step on it." Morro said as they took off.
At Ninjago City harbor, there was a giant tarp over something while the Commissioner, Cyrus Borg, Emperor, Empress, and the audience waited patiently for the Ninja to come before they heard beeping sounds. "Hey look!" A person called as they saw them coming. "It's them! They're there!" The crowd then cheered while the Emperor and Empress smiled while the Commissioner smiled while fixing himself.
Gayle Gossip then got into position and looked at her cameraman. "Okay Vinny, on me, in three, two, one." She said as Vinny pointed the camera at her as the Ninja got on stage. "We're live from Ninjago Harbor where several of the Ninja have just arrived to witness the unveiling of a new ship being presented to them as a gift from the Emperor and Empress."
"Thank you all for coming." The Emperor said to the crowd on the speaker as the audience looked at him. "As you all know, our city was ravaged and ruled by the Sons of Garmadon, but thanks to the effort of a resistance and the Ninja, they have overthrown and restored our rightful place in the throne, and saved our city. And thanks to the funding of the police department and supplies given by the Commissioner and Cyrus Brog…" He said while gesturing to the two, who smiled. "It gives me great pleasure to present this ship from the people of Ninjago City to the Ninja, in thanks to the years of dedicated service and saving our lives." He said with a smile as the Ninja did a well as the crowd cheered.
"I wonder what it looks like." Pixal wondered.
"Oh, I hope it's a trimester like the Bounty." Zane said with a smile.
"Don't get your hopes up, Zane. Whatever it is, it won't compare." Cole said.
"Remember, the Bounty was one of a kind, nothing can ever replace that old ship." Morro added.
"They got a point. Nothing can ever replace the old Bounty." Seliel said.
"You're right about that." Zane said in agreement as Cyrus Borg pressed a button as the curtain began to drop. "The Bounty was…"
Zane was cut off as the Ninjas eyes widened at what they saw behind it, it was the Destiny's Bounty, fully repaired as it the Colossus never destroyed it as the sailed went up and the thrusters powered up, lifting the ship up a bit as the crowd cheered while clapping as the Ninja looked in shock.
"It… It looks just like…" Zane stammered.
"It is the Bounty! They rebuilt it!" Cole cheered as the Commissioner, Emperor, and Empress giggled at their reaction.
"Your highnesses, we don't know what to say." Morro said, stunned by this.
"You have given us back our ship." Zane said with a smile.
"And you have given us back our city." The Empress said with a smile.
"How did you do it?" Seliel asked them. "The Bounty was completely destroyed when the Colossus crushed it with its bare stone hands."
"We were able to obtain a copy of the original blueprints from a private collector." The Commissioner answered while looking at the crowd.
"Who wants them back in mint condition." Rufus said with his arms crossed, revealing he had the original blueprints.
"I wish the others could see this." Pixal said with a smile.
"Where are they?" Cole asked, wanting to know where the others were if they didn't come.
"Jay said that he had something important to take care of." Zane said.
"What could be more important than this?" Cole asked while gesturing to their new ship.
"Wait, where's Harumi? Isn't she supposed to be here?" Seliel asked, noticing the absence of a certain Princess.
"Oh, Harumi went to go and visit a certain Golden Prince." The Empress answered with a chuckle.
"Oh, I see." Morro said with a smirk.
Then at the newly rebuilt Monastery, that was finally rebuilt from its burned down state as another gift for saving Ninjago from the Sons of Garmadon, the Ninja moved back into their old home as it was nearly complete as a couple of monks were placing the new gates on.
In one of the Monastery's rooms, Jay was on his knees. "Nya, I… wanted to ask you this for… a… a long time." He started as he held up a medallion of a Yin-Yang symbol. "Will you, be my, Yang?" He asked.
"No, no, no." The voice said, revealing to be Kai as Jay was showing him how to propose to Nya while Rose, Skylor, and Demir watched. "You can't ask her that." He said to Jay.
"Why not?" Jay asked with a frown.
"It seems alright to me, Kai." Demir said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I thought it was a sweet proposal." Rose said with a shrug.
"Yeah, but Jay gotta ask with confidence! Like this." Kai said as he grabbed the medallion and pulled Skylor to Jay's spot.
"Whoa!" Skylor yelped as Kai fixed his hair as he spoke.
"Hey, Nya, how's it going?" Kai asked with a smirk as he got closer to Skylor and held her arm. "I've been thinking. You and me. We make a pretty good pair." He then circled Skylor. "So what do you say we make it official?" He then spun around and gave a bow. "Will you be my Yang?" He asked as he offered the medallion.
Skylor then pretends to be in thought before giving a smirk. "Mmm, no." She said as Kai looked at her in shock as Rose, Demir and Jay bursted out laughing at that.
"Ahaha! Good one, Skylor!" Demir said through his laughter.
"Oh, that was too perfect!" Rose laughed while holding her cheeks.
"Skylor, you're supposed to say yes to help Jay." Kai said to Skylor as she took the medallion from his hands.
"Yeah, but here's the thing, hotshot, Jay's not you." Skylor said with a smirk as she flicked the medallion back to Jay, who caught it.
"Yeah, Kai. I can't ask her like that." Jay said to him in agreement as they stopped laughing. "It doesn't feel right. It feels too, I don't know. Cocky." He said.
"Who's cocky?" Dareth asked as he appeared from the door.
"What the? Where did you come from?" Demir asked, surprised by Dareth's appearance.
"I came in to get a look at the new Monastery since this is my first time here." Dareth said with a smile. "Now who's cocky?"
"Nobody." Kai told him. "Jay's trying to find the right way to ask Nya to be his Yang." He explained.
"Seriously?!" Dareth asked with a smile. "You and Nya? Wow!"
"Kai!" Rose growled with a look.
"Do you mind?" Jay added with a frown.
"Oh, sorry." Kai said as he realized his mistake. "It's supposed to be a secret, so don't tell anyone."
"That includes you, blabbermouth." Demir said with a frown.
"Oh, sorry." Kai said sheepishly.
"The Yin-Yang promise is a beautiful and sacred tradition, Jay." Dareth said as he approached the Lightning Ninja and shook his hand. "Congratulations, I'm so excited to be part of it, uhh, I am part of it right?"
"Yes Dareth." Jay said with a sigh.
"If he ever asks Nya that is." Skylor said with a smile.
"Ask me what?" Nya spoke up, which surprised the others as they turned and saw her walking in, while back in her ocean blue kimono with a smile as the others gave concerned looks while Jay smiled fondly at the sight of Nya.
"Um…" Jay stammered as he secretly handed Kai the medallion. "Ask you where you got that shirt, hehehe, cause it looks awesome, I want one." He said nervously.
"It's a kimono, Jay, a traditional gown worn by women." Nya told him.
"Uh, guys can wear them too." Jay said, try to keep his proposal.
"Oooh, I would look so good in a kimono." Dareth said as he got between them with a smile, while Jay and Nya had a cringe look at the thought.
"Yeah, no you won't." Demir said with a brow.
"Uh, so where's Master Wu?" Kai asked, wanting to change the topic.
"In the courtyard. Supervising the new mural." Nya answered.
"Oooh, I wanna see," Dareth said as he made his way to the courtyard as the others followed after him, though Kai and Skylor stayed behind for a moment.
"Ya know, you could have been a little more gentle with the rejection, Skylor," Kai told his girlfriend.
"I only said no, because I was supposed to be Nya receiving your proposal," Skylor said to him with a grin and patting his chest, "Now if it was me getting your proposal, it would be a definite yes," She promised, flipping his chin and sauntering off.
Kai was surprised at first before he beamed, "Yes!" He whispered with a fist pump before following after Skylor.
They entered the courtyard where Misako and Wu were as they saw some monks painting the mural, which showed events of the Ninja's battles and history.
"Wow." Jay muttered.
"Will you look at that." Kai said.
"It's amazing." Rose added.
"Not bad." Demir said with a smile.
"It is the history of Ninjago. A history in which all of you played a significant role." Wu explained as they eyed the murals.
"I wear the Dragon Armor!" Iron Baron's voice was heard.
"Change anything, change everything." Kai's voice was heard next.
"You want this city Lloyd?! Then you can have it in ruins!" Garmadon's voice spoke next.
"Wish it all to go away." Nadakhan's voice spoke last.
"Ahaha, hey, that's us!" Jay said with a smile as he shared with Nya during that event.
"And there's Pythor." Nya added. "And Morro."
"Where am I?" Dareth asked as he rushed to the murals and looked around. "Where am I? I'm in here somewhere right?"
"I'm sure you are." Rose said with a strained smile.
"Okay, I'll keep looking." Dareth said as he looked around the murals before looking at the Sons of Garmadon mural. "Oh! I think I see me!" He said as he went to the mural. "There's a brown spot there, and it looks just like me. Whoohoo!" He said as the girls gave a giggle.
"I have to admit, it does look nice." A voice spoke up which made them all turn around and saw Harumi approaching them. "Hey guys."
"Harumi?" They all asked in surprise.
"What are you doing here?" Demir asked in surprise.
"I came by to hang out with Lloyd." Harumi said before noticing that he's nowhere in sight. "And I can see that he's not here at the moment, or Lydie."
"Yeah, they went off to get something out of their father." Skylor said to her.
"Oh." Harumi said with a cringe, knowing that Lloyd and Lydie are gonna have a tough time visiting their father. "Well, I guess I can just stay here and wait till they get back, if you guys don't mind?"
"You are welcome here anytime you like, Harumi." Misako said with a smile.
"Hey, what's this?" Demir asked while looking at the mural of the Ninja's first adventure when finding the Golden Weapons as he gestured to a certain golden tornado.
"That Demir is the Tornado of Creation." Jay said to him.
"Tornado of Creation?" Rose asked in interest.
"You mean there's a tornado with golden power?" Demir asked in surprise. "Like Lloyd?"
"Not exactly." Kai said to them. "But roughly similar."
"Yeah, we all came together and formed that… that… bone cage thingy." Jay said, while forgetting they made a ferris wheel cage in the Underworld.
"Yeah we did." Kai said with a smile. "Still can't believe that worked.
"How come we never saw you Ninja use that Tornado before?" Skylor asked in confusion.
"Because, just like with our dragons and Airjitzu, the Tornado of Creation is used for emergencies only." Kai told her.
"That, and we barely made it easier to use since it took the four Golden Weapons to even make it a full fledged tornado." Jay added. "Which weapons we no longer have."
"Ah, okay." Demir said as Rose and Skylor nodded in understanding. "Still cool to see it though."
"Yeah, except I don't remember it looking that impressive." Jay said, seeing the tornado of creation being a bit too impressive by their standards.
"Yeah, Master Wu. Are you sure you wanna commemorate this moment?" Kai asked. "I mean, we had better ones."
"It is a part of our history." Wu said as he gestured to his staff. "When all hope seems lost, you've confronted destruction with creation." He then balanced out his staff. "Balance is restored. That is the power of Spinjitzu, which we must always…" He trailed off when thunder sounds were heard, which made them look up as a portal opened up.
Just then, Firstbourne came flying out of it. "Hey, isn't that the dragon you guys used to get back from the First Realm with Flame, Wisp, Rocky, Umbra and Shard?" Harumi asked.
"Yeah, that looked like Firstbourne!" Kai said as Firstbourne flew over them and crashed into a mountain as a thud was heard.
"Come on!" Jay called as they rushed down to ground level as they saw Firstbourne laying on the ground.
Wu dropped his staff and rushed towards his Father's dragon and petted her, who opened up her claws to reveal Faith, who fell on the ground.
"Who the heck is that?" Demir asked in confusion.
"Oh my gosh, Faith!" Jay exclaimed as he and Nya rushed up to her.
"Are you okay?" Nya asked as they checked on her as Wu went up to her.
"Faith, what happened?" Wu asked her. "Who did this?" He asked as Faith muttered quietly that only Wu heard.
"What did she say?" Rose asked in concern.
"She said, 'a darkness is coming'." Wu said with a serious look.
After getting Faith in the Monastery and finding a stable big enough for Firstbourne to rest in, the Ninja regrouped as the group from the city rush back, as did Lloyd and Lydie, as the Bounty was parked next to them as the Ninja waited outside while Wu, Misako, Skylor, Seliel, and Harumi are inside as Wu came out with his teapot as they saw Faith rest on a bed.
"How is she?" Kai asked.
"Will she be okay?" Nya followed.
"I've given her a powerful healing potion." Wu said as he closed the door. "She will recover. As for Firstbourne, it will take time." He said as he went up to the table with teacups.
"Did she say what happened?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, who would be strong enough to knock out Firstbourne?" Morro questioned.
"She said a darkness swept over the Realm of Oni and Dragon." Wu said as he placed a tea leaf in his teacup, which created a black fog in it. "She tried to resist it but it grew and grew, consuming all in its path, those who touched it froze where they stood, like statues." He said as he waved his hand around to make a gesture.
"Hey, we were at Kryptarium Prison when visiting our father." Lydie said with wide eyes.
"Yeah. He said something similar. He said, 'the darkness is coming'." Lloyd finished.
"And we had one theory as to what that darkness is, and I think you do too, Uncle." Lydie said seriously.
Wu gave a serious look by his brother's warning as Jay got next to him. "Oh, that's creepy." Jay said as he waved at the teacup and blew at it to get rid of the black fog.
"Uhh, what is it?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, what is this darkness?" Rose asked.
Wu then turned to his niece and nephew. "What else did he say?" He asked.
"Something about, the Bringers of Doom." Lloyd answered.
"But I have a feeling it's the Oni, Uncle." Lydie said in worry. "That might be what father is warning us about."
Wu gave a hum hearing that. "Bringers of Doom." He muttered as he made his way to his quarters with the Ninja following behind as he grabbed a book and placed it on a stand and went through the pages until he stopped on one. "There, that's it."
"I don't like the look of that." Cole said nervously.
"I don't either." Kai said as he looked at the page as it showed an image of two demonic figures standing on a mountain in a dark cloud. "What are those?"
"Those are Oni's." Wu answered as he turned to his Ninja. "My father calls them the Bringers of Doom, he feared that they would one day spread out from their Realm and cover all lands of creation, in darkness."
"Pfft, ahahah!" Jay laughed as the others gave him looks. "That's a crazy legend. Heheh, good thing it's just a legend, right?" He asked nervously.
"Many legends begin in truth." Wu said wisely to Jay. "And if there's any truth to this, we must prepare."
"How?" Lloyd asked.
"We must warn Ninjago City." Wu said to them. "There isn't a moment to lose." He said as they rushed off.
"Good thing we have the Bounty back!" Cole said with a smile.
"Wait for us!" Skylor called out as she, Seliel, Pixal and Harumi rushed up to them.
"We're coming too." Seliel told them.
"Uh, no offense girls but this is a serious mission," Morro told them dismissively.
"Excuse me, but we were the ones who helped Lloyd lead the Resistance while your butts were stuck in the First Realm." Harumi told them. "Besides, my parents are in Ninjago City, and I need to make sure they're safe."
"So like it or not guys, we're going with you." Seliel told them.
"Okay, I get Skylor and Seliel, but you Harumi?" Kai asked with a frown. "I mean, you've hardly been in a fight. So I don't think you should-" He was cut off when Harumi did Spinjitzu and caught him in her tornado as he yelled and screamed before being tossed into a wall as Harumi stopped.
"You clearly haven't seen me in action while you were in the First Realm." Harumi said with a smirk with her hands on her hips.
"You said it, sista." Nya said with a smirk as Kai groaned as he fell to the ground.
"Okay, she can come." Kai groaned with his arm raised painfully.
"Lloyd definitely has a keeper."" Demir commented with a smirk.
"Uh, city about to be in danger, guys." Morro reminded them.
"Morro's right! Let's go!" Jay called as they rushed off while Lloyd and Lydie look at the book while eyeing the Oni.
"The Bringers of Doom." The Garma-Twins both muttered before following the others, while not noticing that the Oni staff was shaped just like Borg's Tower.
Meanwhile, at Borg's Tower, a couple of security guards were at the deep bottom of it as they walked down the halls while an old guard whistled while the young one looked around. "So, what's in all these rooms?" The young guard asked.
"A bunch of stuff they transferred in from the vault in Hiroshi's Labyrinth." The elder guard explained.
"Oh, like what?" The young guard asked as he look at the deactivated Nindroids.
"A lot of dangerous magical artifacts and cursed objects." The elder guard answered.
"Why do they bring it here?" The young guard asked.
"Because it's safer here." The elder guard answered as they continued on. "When old man Borg rebuilt this place, he pulled out all the stops, infrared cameras, hypersensitive laser grid. Name it. Nothing and nobody's getting in here." He said as they walked off a very secured vault door.
Inside the secured vault, surrounded by later grids was the Realm Crystal, the Crystal began flickering its blue color before fading to black as black smoke came out from the Crystal and got out from underneath the vault door and spread across the hallway, which knock out each of the lights with a simple touch as it advanced towards the two guards.
"What? What was that?" The young guard asked in fear as the lights went out.
"I have no idea." The elder guard said before they turned and saw the darkness as they screamed. "That doesn't look good. Run!" He called out as the two rushed to the elevator as the darkness hissed and chased after them as he pressed the button. "Come on. Come on. Come on!" He called as he pressed the button before it finally closed, cutting the darkness off before it could get them.
Outside of Borg Tower, everyone was rushing out of the building to get away from the darkness. "Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate." The computer said, as a security guard was pushing Cyrus Borg out of the building.
"Not safe! Not safe at all!" The elder guard called out as the doors in Borg's Tower closed as the darkness consumed the entire building as thunderstruck, which showed a horn headed figure in it.
Back at the Monastery, the rest of the Ninja were amazed at the sight of the new Bounty. "No way! Look at this thing!" Kai called out as they entered the bridge.
"Wow!" Nya said in awed.
"Whoa!" Jay added.
"Amazing!" Demir added.
"This looks just like the old Bounty." Kai said as Jay flipped a switch.
"They got all the details right." Rose said with a smile.
"Yeah, this is very impressive." Lydie said with a smile.
"It's just like the old girl." Morro admitted.
"They did a wonderful job." Nya said with a smile.
"Let's see what she's capable of." Lloyd said with a smile. "Full speed ahead!" He declared as Zane flipped the thruster switch forward, but the thrusters went backwards, which sent the Bounty in reverse as they all yelled and screamed when they were pushed forward as Zane put the switch back in the middle.
"What the heck was that?" Seliel questioned as they got up.
"Forward, Zane, not backwards." Lloyd said as Zane removed the label of the thrusters.
"Someone must've wired the lever wrong." Zane theorizes as he places the label upside down.
Harumi shook her head. "I had a feeling that guy didn't know what he was doing." She muttered.
"We'll deal with the faulty errors later. We gotta go." Lydie said as Zane flipped the switch down and the Bounty took off forward to Ninjago City.
At NCPD, the Commissioner was painting his boat as he hummed happily to himself, but the door opened up, which made him flinch and caused the brush to go off course and painted a circle window piece. "Darn it! How many times have I told you to knock first, Jimmy?!" He questioned with a firm look.
"Sorry sir, but we've got a serious problem." Jimmy said as he entered the office. "The phones are ringing off the hook."
The Commissioner lowered his magnifying glass. "What phones?" He asked.
"All of them!" Jimmy called as the Commissioner got out of his office and looked at the officers answering the phones while running around.
"Just for a second. Did you say black cloud?" An officer asked.
"Um, yes, sir. We'll be sure to send someone there right away." Another said.
"No sir, do not approach it." Another one said.
"I think something big is happening." Jimmy said in fear as the Commissioner sighed.
"Here we go again." The Commissioner muttered, having a feeling that Ninjago City is being attacked again.
Outside the streets, the darkness made it out of Borg's Tower and was now growing and moving fast on the streets as the people ran off screaming as a woman was grabbed by the legs and tripped over as she screamed before she was reeled in into the darkness.
At Laughy's, the darkness appeared there as the people inside screamed and ran out the building, but a tentacle grabbed a man and pulled him down and reeled him into the darkness, which he look around before he saw purple lighting as he screamed before he was turned to stone with darkness veins on him.
In the subways, the people are waiting for their train, but they saw darkness in it, which made them surprised as the doors opened and the darkness spread as everyone ran off screaming as one of them was caught and frozen solid.
On the streets, a woman was trying out some food before she saw a darkness escape the sewers as she screamed and ran off as the man turned and gasped when he saw the darkness before it lunged at him.
The Destiny's Bounty flew towards Ninjago City as they all noticed the dark clouds forming around the city.
Lydie groaned as she held her head, "Captain. What's wrong?" Kai said in concern.
"D-Dark… it's very… dark." Lydie groaned as she clenched her head.
"Uh, guys. I'm picking up a lot of distress calls on UHF." Zane said in worry after looking at the monitor.
"We're too late." Cole said in horror.
"They're already here." Lydie said grimly.
"Maximum speed!" Lloyd ordered.
"Hold on everyone!" Nya told them as she pressed a button, but the Bounty kept going the speed they're at as Nya groaned. "Come on, you unhinged ship!" She said as she kicked the steering wheel. This caused the Bounty to go faster and into the city.
At a street, the Commissioner, Jimmy, and a few others were guiding the people away. "Go, go, go! Don't look back! Don't run! Just get out of here!" The Commissioner called out to the people as he guided them away.
"Uh, sir. It's here." Jimmy said in fear as he gestured behind the Commissioner as he turned and saw the darkness heading towards them.
"Alright boys." The Commissioner started as he cracked his knuckles. "This is why we get paid the big bucks, draw your weapons."
"Uhh sir, I don't know if our guns would work on that giant cloud." A cop told him.
"Oh, right." The Commissioner said in realization.
"And I don't even have a gun, I'm a rookie." Jimmy said as he pulled out a baton. "I just got this thing."
"Oh, for crying out loud." The Commissioner muttered while shaking his head as the darkness got closer. "Fall back! Get out of here! Run!" He called as he and the other officers rushed off, but they stopped when they saw the darkness blocking the path.
"Where now?" The cop asked the Commissioner.
"The alley! Go! Go!" The Commissioner ordered as they made a run for it into the alleyway, only to reach a dead end.
"Oh, it's a dead end!" Jimmy exclaimed.
"Ah! This isn't my day." The Commissioner muttered while wiping his forehead.
"What do we do?!" Jimmy asked in fear.
"Anyone have any bright ideas?" The Commissioner asked his cops as Jimmy brought out a flashlight and tossed it at the darkness, which flickered out as it got closer to them. "Steady, boys. Steady." He said as the darkness got closer to them, but then ladder and ropes fell as they looked up and saw the Bounty over them as the Ninja climbed down. "The Ninja! Oh boy, are we glad to see you guys." He said in relief as the Ninja got down to the ground.
"Commissioner, get your officers out of here, now!" Lydie said while gesturing to the ladder. "We'll handle this!"
"You heard the woman! Move it!" The Commissioner said as he and his cops climbed the ladder as they made their way to the Bounty.
"Okay, let's see what this is made of." Lloyd said as they face the darkness. "Care to do the honors, Jay?"
"My pleasure." Jay said as he charged up his powers. "Lightning!" He called as he fired at the darkness, which had no effect as it moved around in the dark cloud.
"Uh, heh. Let's see how it likes fire." Kai said as he stepped forward. "Fire!" He called as he shot a fireball at it, which faded as the darkness remained unfazed. "What?!"
"Okay, everybody at the same time!" Lloyd said as they all powered up their powers.
"NINJA, GO!" They all called as they all fired their powers at the darkness, but remained unfazed.
"Our elemental powers appeared to be ineffective." Zane said.
"Yeah! No kidding! What do we do?!" Demir shouted with a look. "We can't punch a cloud!"
"Let me try." Lydie said, summoning her power and firing at the cloud as a loud shriek of pain was heard from it.
"Hey, it worked!" Jay exclaimed.
"Of course it worked, Lydie's power is darkness." Morro said with a smile. "Darkness is hurt by darkness."
"Hit it again!" Kai shouted while gesturing to the darkness.
"Sure thing." Lydie said as she fired another shot at the cloud, which made it shriek in pain some more as it was pushed back a bit as Lydie kept trying before she stopped. "I can't keep doing this forever! And with it spreading across the city, I can't stop it all!"
"We need another approach!" Rose called.
"Girls! Get us out of here!" Lloyd said at the comlink.
"You've got it." Nya said as the Ninja climbed back up on the ropes as they held onto the rope or ladder.
Cole was being pulled up before a tentacle grabbed his legs, which he noticed as he was being pulled down. "Uh, guys! Help! It's got me!" He called out as the others looked down and saw this as Cole lost his grip and screamed as he fell.
"Cole!" Seliel shouted in worry as Lloyd jumped off his rope as he drew his sword as Cole was being dragged in the darkness as purple flashes appeared, which showed the figure from Borg's tower in it, which caught Cole's eyes as he gasped in shock.
Lloyd then landed and used his sword to cut the tentacle. "Come on buddy, I got you." He said to Cole as he helped him up. "Time to get out of here." He said as they held onto the rope. "Reel us in, quick!" He called as they were pulled up just as the darkness washed over the alley as the girls helped them up. "We need to go save some more people." He said to them,
"Lloyd, I'm not sure if there's anyone left to save," Harumi said in concern as they looked to the darkness-covered city.
"We won't know unless we try, Harumi." Lloyd said to her. "We'll do what they can." He said as they began a search and rescue.
After a while, the Bounty was hovering over the city as the darkness continued to spread, but the Ninja managed to save as many people as they could onto the Bounty, including Harumi's parents as the Ninja walked around and were tending to the survivors.
"Here, drink this. It's good for you." Jay said as he gave a man some tea.
"Your chances of survival have increased." Zane assured while placing a comforting hand on the Commissioner.
"You were very lucky down there," Skylor said to a little kid with a small smile while giving him some noodles.
"I'm so glad we made it to you both in time." Harumi said as she hugged her adoptive parents.
"We would've been lost if you and the Ninja hadn't come to us in time, dear." The Emperor said with a small smile as he and his wife returned the hug.
"Father? Father?" Pixal said, looking around on the ship for Borg, "Has anyone seen my father?" She asked her friends.
"I'm not sure we managed to get him, Pixal." Seliel said with a frown. "We haven't seen him the whole time."
"But that doesn't mean anything. He could've left the city when Borg Tower was overrun." Demir said to her with a bit of optimism. "I'm sure he's safe. He survived worse, remember?"
"I suppose." Pixal said with a concerned look.
Lydie and Lloyd looked over the edge of the Bounty as they watched the city being consumed by darkness as it began to grow more as the other Ninja walked up to them. "We hit it with everything we had, and only Lydie's powers push it back just an inch." Kai said to them. "But our powers just went right through it."
"And we couldn't even save everyone." Skylor said in frustration.
"How do we fight something like that?" Nya asked as Cole looked in worry, which they noticed.
"Cole? Are you okay?" Seliel asked as she placed a hand on Cole's back to comfort him.
"I-I-I touched it." Cole stammered in fear. "It was colder than anything I've ever felt. And there was something inside the cloud. I think it was an Oni." He said to them in fear.
"We can't fight it." Lloyd said before he and Lydie shared a nod.
"But we know someone who can." Lydie finished with a serious look.
Morro realizes what they meant. "No, no way! No how! Never gonna happen! Uh-uh!" He said with his arms crossed.
But Morro was outvoted as after dropping off the survivors at the Monastery, the Ninja entered Garmadon's cell in Kryptarium, while Harumi, Seliel, Pixal, and Skylor remained at the Bounty as Garmadon smirked at them.
"Well, well, look who's back." Garmadon said with a smirk as Lydie and Lloyd glared at him.
"Enough with the sarcastic mockings, father." Lydie said with a glare.
"How do we stop it?" Lloyd questioned, getting straight to the point.
Garmadon looked at his table before standing up. "You can't. If you were to enter the darkness, you would succumb to it." He said as he walked forward to them. "The only way to defeat an Oni is with another Oni. You need me." He said to them.
Jay gave a laugh. "Like that's gonna happen!" He mocked before turning to the two leaders. "That's not gonna happen, is it?"
Morro saw the looks on the Garma-Twin's faces and can tell what they were thinking. "You two cannot be seriously thinking about this are you?" He questioned them.
"Trust me, I wish we weren't." Lydie said with a frown.
"Unless you have any other ideas?" Lloyd said, looking at Morro.
Morro just looked at the before giving a defeated sigh and crossing his arms. "Fine, but if he tries any funny business then I'm blowing him to the other side of Ninjago, got it?" He said with a look.
"Fair deal." Lloyd nodded as he looked up. "Open cell one!" He called out as Garmadon's cell opened up as the sphere was lifted, freeing Garmadon as he gave a smirk as the Ninja glared at him as he gave a sinister laughter.
The Ninja made a deal with the devil to stop the upcoming darkness.
