Kai's eyes shot up.

He slowly rose from his bed, looked around and then at the clock – it was midnight, which meant at least half of the Ninja were asleep and that one of them was guarding the door, in case Kai tried to get out of his room again.

The Master of Fire tip-toed over to his wardrobe, the lights still off, and carefully took off one plank off the ground, where a little box with his old suit laid.

"It might've been a month, but I needed it to recover and find out how to get out, since they thought that tightening up the security was a good thing. And off all the reasons to tighten it up now, it had to be Lloyd and me…" Kai thought to himself.

The lights in the hall turned on and someone stood up behind the door.

Kai freaked out, quickly but gently laid the plank on the floor and buried his suit under his jacket, then got back into bed as fast as he could, playing still asleep.

Wyldfyre walked into the room, her heat powers lighting the room. She cautiously looked around the space and found Kai just 'resting' in his bed. She softly smiled, yawned, closed the door and came back to her chair that was on the side of the door.

Kai laid in his bed for some minutes after that, waiting for Wyldfyre to go to sleep again, since by the looks of it, she had been sleeping before she came in.

"Darn it! I still can't move too fast. Why is my body so weak!" He thought out of frustration, but quietly sighed and tried to make up a path through his door, while still ignoring the soreness.

"OK, OK, calm down… Let's think this through…You can't fail, because they might double up on the security and you need to get out of this hell-hole…How to get past her? By her shadow I can guess that she's sitting on a chair that is on the side of the door and by the soft snores that she's sleeping… So… Either I can walk quietly past her, or, if she wakes up, I could karate chop her and if that doesn't work, a quick punch should do it."

Kai rose up from his bed yet again, but this time tip-toed to the door and slid it open, slowly and carefully. He looked onto the left side where his ex-student was, still sleeping.

He just looked at her for a few seconds. She seemed a lot more… Edgy…And, oh boy, that look did not fit her. Kai shook his head and thought: "Who the hell made her clothes? Does everyone look like that now? Yikes."

Kai ignored the disgust that overwhelmed him and backed a bit from the door, then closed it, and it probably would've been better if he left that stupid door open.

"Kai?" Wyldfyre opened her eyes and just stared at him, while he did the same. "What're you doing here? You should be in bed!.. And I should call Nya, probably."

She stood up, but the Fire ninja unfroze and remembered his objective: Finding Lloyd.

"Sorry, Wyldfyre, can't have you ruining my plans." He whispered and punched her in the face, as fast as his body let him, knocking the girl unconscious, luckily Kai managed to grab her before she fell over and walked back into his room, to put the girl in his place.

He closed the door yet again, did the 'job done' sign and checked for anyone coming to his direction.

And, of course, someone had to come.

Kai took a piece of his red jacket and imitated his ex-student's handwriting with a pencil he forgot to take out months ago. He wrote: 'Gon to do stuf'.

He left in the mistakes, just like Wyldfyre would've and hid behind the plant pot that was near him.

Cole walked over to the chair, a bit surprised that it was empty, but quickly noticed the note.

"'Gon to do stuf'. Huh… What kind of stuff?" He thought for a few moments, put the note back in its place and checked Kai's room.

"Kai's there… So I guess the noises that came from here were just my imagination… I guess I really do need more sleep than just an hour a day."

"I can help with that!" Kai whisp-shouted and snuck out of his hiding place, then karate chopped Cole that fell immediately unconscious. "Two are down, about two or three to go." And he ran off.

Sometime later:

Kai was already in his old suit and going down the elevator to the Hangar Bay to grab some weapons and a fast vehicle for the first few hours.

The elevator's door opened and Sora appeared near the monitor, analyzing maps and old texts.

She raised her head and saw Kai with a determined look, nearing her.

"What're you doing here so late?" The girl was surprised.

"I'm getting out of this hell-hole and probably trying to help find the error of everyone's ways." Kai coldly replied.

"So, looking for Lloyd."

"I… Yeah…" Kai was a bit surprised by the girl's calmness, but then again, it was the middle of the night.

"The fastest jet we have is over there." Sora pointed to the corner where a small jet was standing. "And, don't worry I'll disable the tracking system on your transport." She turned on some kind of a black screen with unreadable letters and typed something in. "There."

Kai really didn't understand any of this.

"Why are you helping me?"

"Why would I not? With everyone turned against Lloyd and without him here, somehow… Everything and everyone that lives in this monastery have turned sadistic, and when they're near him… They become even worse and I can't do nothing but look… It's like some sort of an illness and I've tried looking for cures, weapons, places every night, barely getting any sleep…But it seems that I can't do anything… But you and Lloyd, on the other hand, might do some good. If it's just one guy, then they won't listen, but if there's more – There might be hope…" She was looking to the ceiling, as if dreaming about a paradise so far, far away…

"You noticed?"

"I did and…" She looked at the digital clock and said:

"You should hurry - you have only a few hours left until all of them wake up."

"Don't you want to come with me?" Kai got into the jet.

"I can't. They need to be watched over… "

"What-" The girl pressed a button and the jet took off superfast out of the Hangar Bay and into the foggy sky.

"I'm sending you to the location that I last saw Lloyd, but a few feet forward… After you reach Lloyd's place, the jet will be destroyed via countdown, to avoid some kind of tracking."

"Are you serious?!"

"Find Lloyd, please…"

Kai couldn't get Sora's last words out of his head, panicking about what might happen to her if they found out that she helped him escape.

He clenched the control stick strongly, while being lost in thought.

The dark sky and thick fog only made everything more unnerving, it was as if Kai was the only one if the world, with no idea where to go or what to do.

He bit his lip so hard it started to bleed.

"If I had been there, maybe nothing like this would be happening…" Kai whispered to himself.

"Or maybe you could've become like them." A weird voice of Lloyd came from somewhere.

"Who's there?!" Kai started looking around the skies franticly, looking for whoever was talking to him in thousands of feet above the ground.

"The good old 'weird glow-y version' of someone you know, but not a twisted one." It chuckled a bit.

"W-Where…Are you? I'm like… thousands of feet above the ground."

"Well so am I."

"Why are you here?"

"So many questions that may never be answered!" A glowing floating Lloyd, that somehow kept up with the super speedy jet, came out of the fog faking a damsel in distress. "But! That shouldn't be your biggest problem."

"Lloyd, why- How are you here? And what do you mean it's not my biggest problem?"

"You'd better wake up, buddy, clock's ticking down and I can't have you dead."

Kai looked at the figure in confusion, but then he thought for a few seconds.

"Clock…The countdown!" Kai thought to himself and immediately woke up.

There was no glow-y version of his brother, only fog, the sky and a countdown that went down:

3

"Oh come on! Can't a guy get his sleep peacefully around here?!" He opened the cockpit.

2

Kai jumped out.

1

The jet blew up.

And Kai was plummeting to the ground, well… more like plummeting to spikes that went for miles.

"Spikes?! Are you joking?!" Kai tried slowing his fall by creating blasts that were pretty much like boosts for going up in the air.

"I wish I had read more Starfarer comics for this!" Kai began screaming with his whole heart.

Meanwhile, with Lloyd:

An ear-grueling scream was heard plummeting down the sky and Lloyd just flew by it.

The dragon that had its wings fueled by Lloyd's elemental power stopped and whined growled at Lloyd, who was on its back, chilling and eating an apple.

"Seriously, Zips?"

The dragon roared.

"But that hot-head could kill you!"

It roared louder.

"Zippy! Think this through! That guy just came out the sky for no reason, what if it's a trap, huh? I won't be able to protect you."

It strongly let out all kinds of sounds a dragon could let out.

"Fine! Jeez… But we're getting him tied up with vengestone and because of you that loud mouth will have to go with us for the whole trip, because you don't want him dying and those spikes last for at least five hundred miles and the other places that we'll be flying through are just as dangerous! You sure you want that?"

It roared at Lloyd.

"OKAY! OKAY!" He let out an exasperated annoyed sigh, slid on his mask, threw away his apple, properly sat down on Zippy and charged a green blast to the dragon's wings, that now became larger and faster.

Lloyd saw Kai, still plummeting to his death and screaming with all his heart, trying to slow down the fall with his power.

"Giddy up, Zips!"

The dragon and Lloyd went down to reach Kai at unimaginable speeds, managing to catch him just a few seconds before Kai was stabbed by the spikes.

The Fire ninja was dumbfounded and had no idea what was happening, but he turned around and saw Lloyd that said:

"Welcome to the Garmadon airlines! Thank you for choosing our flight!"
