A/N: This is the final chapter of Myth Legend, so thank you all for liking this story.
"You will not hurt any other person I care about."
Shadow Empress just stared at the individual in fury. "You…why are you here—" She was thrown into a wall and the individual approached her. "You cannot kill me, Azula! I just defeated at least a dozen Kitsune, what makes you think you stand a chance?"
"You see Azula, but she isn't in control," the girl said in a different voice. The witch just watched with rage.
"So she bonded with you, not that it matters." Shadow Empress jumped up and prepared to battle her. The fox spirit changed Azula's eyes into a scarlet color, and she cartwheeled away from the witch's incoming shadow bolts. As she cartwheeled, she picked up Tamamo's katana and posed in a samurai-like style. The Shadow Empress prepared another attack, but the spirit was too fast, and Yamiko could only hope to teleport to warn Shaw. The fox immediately sliced the witch's shoulder blade, only halfway, to make her arm too painful to move. She kicked Yamiko from behind, and as her face hit the floor, the spirit grabbed her by the hair.
"You do not deserve the title of the fox", she growled. "I do not need to deal with two wretched women for the rest of my life, so killing you will be a sweet favor for everyone".
"No mercy, huh? This is no different than being killed by Azula", Yamiko cried and laughed. "I will never understand why he cared about the brat".
Inside her mind, Azula found herself in the temple—the same temple where a spirit in the form of a giant insect monster tried to redeem her. "You plan to let the spirit take your place?"
"I am observing that Yamiko is such a fool for her delusional fantasies."
"What kind of fool?"
"She is more dangerous than Shaw but lacks the intelligence to put her power to good use," She stated as she watched the witch cower. "Not only that, but her entire existence revolves around whoever becomes her master, how pathetic she is for that."
"Then you two are not so different."
"Still probing my brain? It makes no sense to hallucinate you of all people."
"Then how about this, do you still feed your head with crap from Ozai?" The spirit asked in the form of Aragami.
"Ozai was powerful and never allowed weakness! And don't try that trick again with me, I don't even care about that old freak," Azula waved off, and the Aragami folded his arms and looked down.
"But he cares about you, even after what you said in the afterlife trial."
"Stop filling my head with these stupid thoughts!"
"Azula, I don't understand what this thing is doing to you, but you need to head back to the living world."
Azula stood up and looked Aragami dead in the eye, "Am I that important to you?"
"Yes, you are, I thought that risking my immortality was enough proof." He frowned at Azula's look of skepticism. "Look, right now, the fox is going to take over your body unless you defeat Shaw after it attempts to kill Yamiko."
"I will never understand your need to think with your emotions."
"You think I would have cared about you if I had your misguided mindset?"
"How dare you try to change me! I am perfect, a prodigy!"
"Maybe from your Earth, but not in this one. You are not a princess anymore! Everything you were in the past means nothing right now." He sighed, "Fear isn't enough to save you, trust me when I say I will help however I can."
"Trust is for fools! Do not bother feeding me such nonsense."
"Ah…an Aragami came all this way to save a heartless brat." A woman spoke as she used telekinesis to move prison chains at Aragam, I, who tried dodging. Aragami stood in a protective stance. Azula may not understand the, but she was not stupid.
"You are willing to sacrifice yourself for me?" Azula realized and took a few steps back. Aragami took one look at her.
"Everyone saw you as a lost cause, maybe I am stupid, but I think you deserve love like everyone else—"
"Enough! Your soul is mine, Aragami!"
Aragami grabbed the fox and threw it at Azula. It went to her chest and bones, causing Azula to scream but freeze. Tears pouring down her face, Aragami muttered 'I love you' to her, and Azula closed her eyes. She fell through a portal under her and softly said:
"Fathom"
That was the only word she could say out loud, but the full sentence was:
"I wish I could fathom."
A portal opened, and Yamiko was thrown to the other end of the passage, and Azula, Fox spirit power, walked to the witch.
"I did as you asked! I brought you to the palace!"
Azula was watching all this and gritted her teeth, "Nice work, genius, we got to Shaw, but you didn't plan what to do with this witch in the process."
"I would kill you, but I have a better idea."
"You?" Azula scoffed, "It is my idea that I just told you."
Later on, Shaw held the emperor hostage and had a gun, ready to shoot him. Then a portal opened right next to him, and a sword cut his hand that held the gun. As Shaw screamed in pain, he noticed the person who dismembered him was a young woman in a red and black kunoichi outfit and a red bandana covering her face's lower half. Everyone who was taken hostage made a run for it, having no idea what was happening today.
Shaw quickly summoned Kage minions. Azula scoffed, "Is this the best you could do?" She prepared to fight them all.
"That is just the start."
Inside her mental domain, Azula came up with a strategy. "Use it! Use the card Kamen gave us!"
"Card?" the fox asked as it began fighting with the sword. She pulled out the card and threw it upward, which struck through each kage chest area. Shaw just chuckled.
"You shouldn't have wasted that souvenir," He said as he started shifting into a large monster made of imperial Japanese armor.
"How do you plan on defeating that? We do not stand a chance!" Azula thought. The fox spirit chuckled.
"I have a plan, well, your plan."
Shaw tried a hammer fist on the girl, who swiftly dodged and pierced his fist. The man howled in pain and tried swatting her onto the wall. The fox spirit moved off the fist and sliced off his other arm.
"Almost there," Azula muttered. The fox spirit smirked, "All this power you have makes it difficult to understand what you even needed Yamiko for."
"I needed her to kill all the threats."
The fox kicked him in the chin. "She failed to kill me."
"I overestimated her capabilities; if she had succeeded, it would have been easier to discard her for being the last threat to my ambition."
Yamiko threw a shadow snake at Shaw's neck, which began to strangle him. Azula smirked at this plan to turn the witch against Shaw.
"Alright, let me take over," She decided. The fox just sputtered and growled at her demand.
"You will be useless!"
"Just for a few minutes, I need to tell Yamiko the next step of my plan," Azula explained and sighed at the fox's decline. "Or wait until Shaw disintegrates the shadow snake and kills us all! Your choice"
"Fine!"
Azula gasped at being in control of her body once more. No time to celebrate as she needed to say something. "Yamiko, I need you to cast a spell, a spell that…"
Shaw managed to grip the snake, and it disintegrated. Shaw turned to find Yamiko uttering something in old traditional Japanese kanji. "Well, I am guessing you heard what I said, but best to kill you now!"
He then howled in pain at incoming slices on his back, and he turned to Azula. "Shut up and fight!"
"Okay"
Outside the palace, people were just walking past until a loud explosion was heard. Everyone wondered what it was and reporters broadcasted on the 3D billboards. Apparently the Emperors tempo was being blown up and a large monster was seen terrorizing a smaller woman. Then another woman appeared, levitating.
A barrier started forming around the palace after everyone who was an ordinary Japanese human had evacuated. Shaw groaned in frustration and charged at the women. Azula moved out of the way, and Shadow Empress threw a few shadow blasts.
"It would be nice if her miss foxiness assisted me!"
"We need more time, but there was never time to test the kitsune powers," Azula groaned. "Can you not use something more effective than a katana?"
"There is one way, but it will have to take both our energy,y" The fox revealed. Azula knew that would be pointless as her original plan was almost at its destination. "Azula, help will come quicker if you say it."
"…I…want to learn to love"
Shadow Empress was caught and being squeezed to death by Shaw. Then a portal opened in the shape of a rectangle, and out of it emerged Kamen, Reanimateh, and Gamma.
Standing in a combat pose. "Sorry, we're late, Princess."
"Make up for it by assisting me now," Azula prepared to fight with her katana. "Gamma, be our muscle. Reanimateh, death strike him when I say, and Kamen, help me blind him."
Gamma charged at Shaw, punching the gut and groin. Azula ran with Kaman around their enemy. "Listen, I need to use the fox-fire, can it spread to my sword?"
The fox hummed, "Yes, but you need to concentrate hard."
"I don't know why you are asking me how your new powers work." Kaman must have furrowed his eyebrows at Azula.
"Just prepare your magic cards," Azula ordered. She and Kamen were behind, and Gamma used an uppercut punch. As Shaw was pushed back by such a punch, Azula nodded at Kamen, who shot a card at the back of his head. The former princess leaped up to the car as she went through a light formed inside Shaw. He started becoming bulky and bloated until he exploded into a dispersed aura looking like fire, as everyone averted their eyes. The boys walked to the spot of Shaw was gone, as was Azula, much to the boys' dismay.
"I cannot believe I," Kamen said.
"She sacrificed herself," Gamma spoke quietly.
"She never said when I must use my death strike," Reanimateh realized, which made Kamen realize something.
"What if she did?" Kamen said. Gamma and Reanimateh exchanged glances in confusion.
"She didn't, Kamen," Gamma deadpanned.
"She expects us to bring her back from the afterlife of this country's mythology," Kamen figured, and the two boys caught on.
"Well, Rean, bring her back!" Gamma patted Rean.
"Not here, too many people are around," Rean stated. "We should leave before the muses start singing the memory eraser spell."
Kamen led the boys to his portal card, feeling grateful that one of the otherdimension-hoppingvvictimswvictimenchantresshantress from a literal fantasy world. As the muses came, they started singing, and everyone's pupils widened. Then they shut their eyelids and reopened. Immediately forgot what had happened tonight.
Azula opened her eyes to find herself in a strange setting. It was very old-fashioned with no signs of ma modern urban lifestyle. A traditional rural village where people walked around wearing masks to seal their faces. As she walked around,, she noticed Aragami walking with a man in a monster-themed Japanese mask.
She ran to him, "Aragami! What is the meaning of—," She gasped when she tried to touch him, but her arm passed through him.
"Aragami, do not show excitement but the girl you care about is here" The ponytail man informed.
"Azula? Azula I am here! Where are you?"
"She is right in front of us, but only as a visitor."
"Azula, can she hear me?" The ninja asked, and the older man nodded. Aragami sighed, "Azula, you are in Rashomon Valley. You will find it in the north of Akita, You must come to me for training."
Azula was pulled back by a force; she was hovering in a vertical position and landed on the ground. She looked at Kamen, Reanimateh, and Gamma. They all seemed relieved.
"Don't ever do that again!" Reanimateh scolded.
"What did you do with Shaw?" Gamma asked.
"How could you do that glowing thing?" Kamen asked.
"Shaw is paying the price, and I have acquired useful abilities, no." Azula then looked at the boys. "I must ask, why did you come for me?"
"Wasn't it obvious?" Kamen chuckled.
"We care about you," Reanimateh revealed. Azula was surprised by this, stunned that people who had known her for a short while were concerned for her.
"We all do,o" Miya emerged into the scene. "That is why we want to recruit you into our team, apparently, by the other dimension immigrants overthrew the regime of the then, so we are all redoing the organization.n"
Azula curved the corner of her lip, "As nice as that may be, I have to search for someone, and I will have to educate myself on this country.y"
Miya smiled, "Thank God! I'll tag along, you're going to need a guide" She said in an attempt to get away from strict institutions.
"That's a shame, but if you change your mind, you will still be welcomed", Kamen reassured. The two girls walked off.
As Miya followed, she asked. "Do you have a new destination?"
"Yes, Akita".
A/N: There will be a sequel to this story. You haven't seen the last of Marvel Azula.
