Blush Mountain

Lincoln, along with his family and friends, were continuing to ride down Route 12 towards Tapu Village where the white-haired Loud's next Island Trial was located.

Along the way, they take the time to look around at all the Pokemon located on the road.

Shiloh sees one that looks like an orange tortoise with a gray shell that had hexagon-shaped holes in it, along with gray stripes on each of its ankles and one on its neck.

"What's that?" Shiloh asked; Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon to get his cousin an answer.

"Torkoal, the Coal Pokemon. You can tell how it's feeling by the smoke spouting from its shell. Tremendous velocity is a sign of good health." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"I'm gonna catch this one." said Shiloh.

"It's a fire type, so go with a water type." said Lincoln.

"Okay, Lincoln." said Shiloh as he takes a pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his Wailmer.

"Get it, Shiloh!" said Shelby. The Torkoal looks towards Wailmer and gets into a stance; the sun suddenly grew brighter, increasing the temperature of the area.

"What's going on?" asked Lynn.

"That Torkoal must have the Drought ability." said Kiawe. "It increases the intensity of the sun, so fire attacks will be stronger while water attacks will be weaker."

"That won't stop me." said Shiloh. "Wailmer, use Water Pulse!" His Wailmer releases a pulsing mass of water that hits the Torkoal, dealing super effective damage, but not as much is it normally would've thanks to the sunlight; Torkoal reacts by releasing a blast of smog from its mouth, hitting Wailmer, and dealing damage. "Use Rollout!" His Wailmer rolls at the Torkoal and slams into it, dealing super effective damage.

"Good move." said Lincoln. "Since Rollout is a rock type attack, not only will it be super effective against Torkoal, but it also won't get weakened by its Drought; not to mention the attack will get stronger each time it hits."

Torkoal reacts to Wailmer's attack by spinning as it flies at Shiloh's Pokemon and slams into him; a surge of energy rises up from Torkoal.

"What's going on?" asked Shane.

"That must've been Rapid Spin." said Lincoln. "It's an attack that not only does damage but increases the speed of the Pokemon that used it."

"Pretty useful if you don't have a lot of speed to begin with." said Lynn. Shiloh's Wailmer rolls back at the Torkoal again and slams into it with greater force than before, knocking it onto its back.

"Time to catch it!" said Shiloh as he takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Torkoal, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.

"Way to go, Shiloh!" said Mallow. As Shiloh's new Pokemon is teleported to storage, Lincoln looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.

"This says your new Torkoal's a boy, he knows Ember, Smog, Withdraw, Rapid Spin, Fire Spin, Smokescreen, Flame Wheel, Curse, Lava Plume, and Body Slam; and like Kiawe said, he has the Drought ability." said Lincoln.

As the group looks around, they see a road leading up a mountain towards some sort of large facility.

"What's that mountain?" asked Shelby.

"That's Blush Mountain." said Sophocles. "It's where the Geothermal Power Plant is located."

"Geothermal Power Plant?" Lincoln replied.

"It's a facility that provides the entire Alola Region with electricity by using the steam in the mountain to power its turbines." said Sophocles.

"Let's take a quick look." said Lincoln.

"What about your Island Trial, cuz?" asked Shane.

"I can spare a few seconds." said Lincoln. "Plus, there could be some more Pokemon to catch."

"Let's go then." said Shelby. Everyone then starts riding their Mudsdales up the mountain until they reached a large clearing that was in front of the Geothermal Power Plant.

"So, this place really powers the entire region?" asked Lincoln.

"It sure does." said Sophocles. "It uses a lot of underground and underwater cables and pipes to send power to every city and town. Also, this facility gives off a strange energy that allows certain kinds of Pokemon to evolve."

"Really?" asked Lincoln.

"Yes." Sophocles replied. "Magnetons, Nosepasses, and Charjabugs will evolve when they get strong enough here."

"So, you might wanna be careful with your Charjabug if you want to still be able to do that Charjabug Racing." said Lynn.

"Good idea." said Sophocles.

As Shelby looks around the area, she sees an orange, rodentlike Pokemon with a cream-colored belly, black whiskers on its red cheeks, and a long, thin, black tail.

"It's so cute!" said Shelby. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Dedenne, the Antenna Pokemon. It sneaks into people's homes and steals electricity from their outlets. When your electric bill seems off, it's the handiwork of this rascal." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"I definitely want to capture this one." said Shelby, pulling out a pokeball. "Espeon, go!" She throws Espeon's pokeball, and releases him. "Espeon, use Confusion!" Espeon's eyes glowed light blue; Dedenne gets surrounded by light blue light and gets sent flying back, and lands on the ground. Dedenne leaps at Espeon and wags its tail onto him, but its tail bounces off Espeon and hits Dedenne; Dedenne begins to slump.

"I think that Dedenne used Tail Whip." said Lincoln. "Good thing Espeon's Magic Bounce ability reflected that move right back at it."

"Yeah; now Dedenne's defense is weakened instead of Espeon's." said Shane.

"Espeon, use Tackle!" said Shelby. Espeon charges at Dedenne and rams it, knocking it back. Dedenne releases electricty from its body and it hits Espeon, dealing damage.

"That looked like Thunder Shock." said Sophocles.

"Espeon, use Psybeam!" said Shelby. Espeon fires a beam of multicolored energy from his gem on his forehead and it hits Dedenne, damaging it, and knocking it to the ground. Shelby takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Dedenne, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggled until it clicked.

"Way to go, Shelby." said Lynn. Dedenne's pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage. Lincoln uses his Rotom Phone to look up Dedenne's information.

"This says your Dedenne's a boy, he knows Tackle, Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Charge, Charm, Parabolic Charge, Nuzzle, Thunder Wave, and Volt Switch." said Lincoln. "He has the Cheek Pouch ability which restores some of his energy when he eats a berry."

"So, even when he eats a berry that doesn't restore energy, he'll still gain energy?" asked Shane.

"Exactly." said Lincoln.

Lynn looks around and sees several Alolan Gravelers rolling around nearby; she frowns as they remind her of the one that Kalani has.

"I'm gonna battle these guys and get some experience battling them." said Lynn.

"Getting ready for Kalani, cuz?" asked Shane.

"You know it." said Lynn as she hops off the Mudsdale she was riding and lets out her Passimian, Hawlucha, and Crabrawler.

"Careful about using Hawlucha." said Lincoln. "He's part flying type so electric attacks will be very effective."

"Got it." said Lynn. The Gravelers look towards Lynn's team and get ready for battle. "Passimian, use Rock Smash! Hawlucha, use Karate Chop! Crabrawler, use Power-Up Punch!" Her Pokemon use the attacks they were told to on the Gravelers and deal super effective damage to all of them; a surge of energy rises up from Crabrawler.

"Looks like Crabrawler got the power boost from Power-Up Punch." said Kiawe. He then notices the body of the Graveler that Passimian hit get cracks on it. "And Rock Smash weakened that Graveler's defense.

The Graveler that Lynn's Passimian was battling punches him with an electricity-covered fist, dealing damage.

The Graveler that Lynn's Hawlucha was fighting rams into him while covered in electricity, dealing super effective damage.

The Graveler that Lynn's Crabrawler was facing charges at her also while covered in electricity and rams her, dealing damage.

"Those Gravelers are tough." said Sophocles.

"I won't lose again!" said Lynn. "Hawlucha, use Flying Press! Crabrawler, use Bubble Beam! Passimian, use Rock Smash again!" Hawlucha flies up above one of the Gravelers and becomes surrounded by white energy; he dives down on the Graveler, dealing super effective damage.

Passimian leaps at another Graveler while one of her hands glowed white and she smashes it onto the Graveler, dealing more super effective damage than the previous Rock Smash due to the Graveler's defense being weakened by Passimian's first Rock Smash.

Crabrawler opens one of her pincers towards another Graveler and releases a beam of glowing bubbles out of it and it hits Graveler, dealing super effective damage; the Graveler begins to slump.

"Bubble Beam weakens the speed of the Pokemon it hits." said Lincoln.

The Graveler that Hawlucha was battling runs at him while covered in electricity; it slams into Hawlucha, dealing super effective damage.

The Graveler that Passimian was facing throws a bunch of rocks at her, not doing much damage.

The Graveler that Crabrawler was battling rams her while covered in electricity, dealing damage.

"Time to end this!" said Lynn. "Hawlucha, use Karate Chop! Passimian, use Rock Smash! Crabrawler, use Reversal!"

Hawlucha brings down one of his wings hard onto the Graveler he was facing, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.

Passimian brings down a fist onto the Graveler she was facing, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.

An orange aura covers Crabrawler before going into one of her claws; she then punches the Graveler she was battling, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.

"You did it, Lynn!" said Lincoln.

"Yeah, but I still have work to do if I want to be ready for Kalani at the tournament." said Lynn.

"You will be." said Mallow as she frowns at the mention of Kalani's name.

"Let's get going." said Lincoln. The group then gets back onto Route 12 and continue to make their way towards Tapu Village.

"I might go back to Blush Mountain tomorrow to do some more training." said Lynn.

"Yeah, it is starting to get dark out." said Shelby.

"Let's hurry and get to Tapu Village." said Lincoln.

The group hurry their way down Route 12 towards their destination. What awaits them as their Alola adventures continue? Wait and find out.

Meanwhile, in Konikoni City, Chandler was in the Pokemon Center, using the PC to do a swap with his Tentacruel. Once he got the Pokemon he wanted, he tosses its pokeball, releasing the Bruxish he caught days ago.

"I'll show that Olivia, along with the Louds and their friends, that Chandler is the best around!" said Chandler while his Bruxish has a devilish grin on its face.
