A/N: Hey there, AntiHero here! Been getting requests to update this story, didn't realize this would've been so liked when I made the first chapter. Anyway, let's proceed with the next chapter. Needed to decide which of the first three episodes to start with, wasn't sure which one was chronologically after GO! But I think this was the right choice to start with.

Chapter 2 - Divide & Conquer
Night in Jump City and sure enough there was trouble happening; the city prison's alarm was going off as smoke was flowing from the prison, one from behind the walls and another from the bridge that led to the city. Three armed Guards rushed into the prison, going past the forced entry that the intruder came through. "Code red! Cellblock nine! Move out!" one of them ordered the other two; they kept going, surveying the area with their weapons hot. "Main yard secured. Their path was soon blocked when a busted up piece of the prison landed before them. "There they are!"
"They'll free the criminals!" one Guard exclaimed as they took aim at their target.
"Fire!" On command, they three fired multiple shots at the intruders, a giant walking piece of concrete and a computer circuit card emitting an electric body. The laser blasts bounced off the stone, though if he was harmed, he certainly didn't show it. The Gravel Giant and circuit board turned to face the guards, glaring at them. Cinderblock roared and stomped his left foot, causing a small rupture that made debris block off the guards' path. The two then proceeded to enter the prison when a voice called out to them.
"You know, Cinderblock. Overload. Normally, the bad guys break out of jail."
"And I can think of seven good reasons why you don't want to break in." Cinderblock and Overload looked to see who was addressing him; The Boy Wonder was the first to jump down and face him. "One!"
Next was the Tameraneon. "Two!"
"Three!" the shapeshifter exclaimed as he changed from tiger to human.
The cloaked girl followed after him. "Four!"
Then came the Cyborg. "Five!"
After him came the EVO teen who rode in on his bike. "Six!"
And finally, the alien hero phased through the wall in his Ectonurite form. "Seven!" The Seven young heroes stood before their standing sidewalk stone, ready to take them down and lock em in this very prison.
"No matter how you do the math, it all adds up to you going down." Robin assured him. "So, are you both going to go quietly…"
"Or is this gonna get loud?" Cyborg finished the question.
Cinder Block replied by roaring and charging at his adversaries. "Loud it is!" Rex said as he brought out his smack hands.
"Titans! GO!" Robin ordered. The Seven Titans rushed to take their foe head on, with Robin, Rex and Cyborg on the ground while Ghostfreak, Raven, Starfire and Beastboy as a falcon flew at him with everyone letting out a battlecry. Ben got him first, pressing on his centerpiece and changing into a Polymorph. "Goop!" He then stretches and wraps around Cinderblock, restraining him.
Robin follows by jumping and kicking him in the head. The Golem was hardly fazed, as it broke free from Goop's grip, causing the polymorph to break into pieces. He's then struck in the back by Starfire's starbolts and Cyborg finishes the assault by throwing a punch but the giant manages to counter with his own fist, however, the force from Cy's attack was enough to push him back a bit. Beastboy takes a turn by scratching at Cinderblock's body with his talons. As the giant flees, Raven appears in his path, using her powers to pull up a stone wall to stop him. He easily smashes it to rubble as Raven moves out of his way.
As Robin and Cyborg rush to attack him again, Overload stood in front of his comrade and shot them with an electric blast, knocking them back. Starfire and Rex charged at them, with the EVO attempting to strike the electrified circuit board with his fist. The Tameranean fired again at the two but was grabbed by the golem. The redhead simply smiled."I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I am stronger than I look." Her eyes glowed green, and with a mighty kick, she freed herself and pushed back the rogue of rubble. Beast boy then changes from bird to T-Rex and rushes to attack, only for him and Rex to be knocked away by Overload's counter attack.
"Azarath Metrion–" Raven's chant was interrupted when the boys fell onto her, luckily Beast boy changed back to himself, and Rex put away his giant fists. The three got up and Raven glared at her teammates with a strand of hair over her face.
"Heh…watch out for falling dinosaurs and robots?" Beast boy jokes. Raven was not amused.
"Sorry, Raven. We'll leave you alone now." Rex said as he got back into the fight and BB ran off.
Cinderblock seemed to chuckle when Robin grabbed onto him. The giant attempts to shake him off but to no avail. "Trashing only makes me hold tighter!" Robin told him.
"Hey birdie! Need a hand?" Rex asked, bringing out the blast caster. "Or a whip!" He used the black appendage to bind the boulder behemoth. It kept struggling, managing to break free from the black whip before attempting to grab Robin, but the Boy Wonder got away. Cinderblock then grabbed onto a girder and prepared to swing it.
"Now there's an idea." Cyborg said, grabbing his own girder and engaging the Gravel Giant. As they clashed, Rex swung his blaster caster at the living circuit board.
"Hey there Sparky, wanna have some fun?" he asked as he switched to the funchucks, spinning then smashing them together, creating an energy pulse that blows the electric villain back and it shouts furiously at the EVO. "No? Then why don't you settle down?"
Overload continued his assault by trying to zap Rex as Ben rushed to his side; he pressed his symbol and changed into the Crystalsapien. "Chromastone! I was going for Diamondhead, but I can work with this." Overload shot electric bolts at the Crystalsapien who simply channeled through his body. "It's going to take a lot more juice to shock this conductor!" Ben exclaims as Overload keeps trying.
In their club battle, Cyborg was pushing the golem back before it swung its club, hitting the metal man and sending him sliding across the floor. Star floated before the Cinderblock who prepared to strike her too, but he soon found his club red hot, causing it to melt in his hands courtesy of the Tameranean's starbolt. She giggles and Cinderblock decides to flee, running down the corridor into the prison hold. Overload continues blasting the Crystalsapien, causing him a bit of trouble. "Okay, this is a lot of juice!"
"I got you, Ben!" Rex comes to his aid. Using his blaster caster to grab Overload's head, pulling it and slamming the monster onto the ground.
Chromastone falls to his knee as he takes a breather. "Thanks, Rex."
"Treat me to pizza and soda later," the EVO replies. Overload recovers and runs to regroup with his comrade.
Still on the ground, the cyborg is offered a hand by the team leader and is pulled to his feet. "Wanna give these guys the Sonic Boom?" Robin asked him.
Cyborg brings out his cannon. "I got the Sonic if you got the Boom." The other five teens chase after the bad guys when Cyborg calls out to them. "Yo, Rockhead! Lightning butt!" The two turn around to see Robin and Cyborg running up the walls for their attack; however, they slip when their feet are unintentionally entangled, causing them to spin out of control. Upon separating, Cyborg hits the ground and accidentally fires a sonic attack that hits Starfire, Rex and Beast Boy while Robin hits the ground as well, losing his explosive disc that goes off at Ben and Raven. The monsters use this opportunity to break through multiple cell walls, freeing the prisoners while still heading towards their objective.
"Hey, hey, look at this. It's freedom!...Let's do it!...Let's get outta here!...Yeah!" Various Prisoners cheered as they ran out of their cells. The Titans noticed this, and took action, Facing off against the inmates to stop the prison break.
With this distraction, the two heavy hitters made their way to a specific cell with the label 'Prisoner 385901' with 'Absolute Silence' added underneath. Overload blasts down the steel door, and inside the cell was a man in black undergarment floating in a glass tank filled with a liquid substance; the man was snoring, soundly asleep, completely oblivious to what was happening in the prison. Cinderblock rips the container off the ceiling, Overload blasts a hole in the floor and the two escape with their package.
Two prisoners managed to get out and were almost home free, just needed to get past the main entrance. "Let's go, let's go!"
"I think we're gonna make it!" Before they could escape, two black doors block the entrance, stopping them in their tracks; Raven then phases through the door, confronting and scaring them.
"Think again." She tells them. A black whip appears and binds them, with Rex giving her a thumbs up. Soon, all the inmates, minus one, were being led back into their cells by the guards.
Beast Boy, who was a gorilla, changed back and remarked "Jailbreak? I don't see any jailbreak."
"None of us would have seen one if Cyborg hadn't messed up!" Robin stated.
"Me? I messed up nothing! You got in my way!" Cyborg shot back.
The Boy Wonder yells "You were too far forward, and Cinderblock got away because of it!"
"You saying this is my fault?" the metal man asked furiously.
"Want me to say it again?" Robin yelled. The two glare at each other with sparks flying between their eyes.
The Tameranean got between the two teens."Stop! No more mean talking!" Robin and Cyborg turn away from each other.
"Yeah. If you two are gonna fight, we need time to sell tickets." Beast Boy jokes.
Raven pulls off her hood and addresses her teammates. "Cinderblock escaped. No amount of yelling will change that. So stop acting like idiots, and let's go home." Robin and Cyborg look back at each other and let out a huff, then start to walk away from each other; however, refusing to let this issue go, they throw one more insult respectively.
"Loser."
"Jerk."
Hearing each other, they turned back and yelled. "What did you say?!" They once again got in each other's face and resumed arguing.
"Do you have a problem, Tin Man?" Robin asked.
"Yeah! It's four feet tall and smells like cheap hair gel!" Cyborg yelled and smirked.
As they argue, the other Titans aside from Ben, changed into infants and fearfully watched."Well, you're an oversized klutz and your feet smell like motor oil!" Robin shouted.
"You're bossy, you're rude, you got no taste in music!" Cyborg shot back.
"I don't even know why you're on this team!" Robin said.
Cyborg agreed. "That makes two of us! I QUIT!" His last words shocking his teammates, and with that, the Tin Man storms off from the Titans, with Robin looking down in guilt.
Rex looked towards Ben and asked "What just happened?"
Meanwhile, the Rocky Rogue and the Circuit Criminal made their way to an unknown location. Numerous gear sounds filled the room as the two approached their boss, an intimidating fully armored man shrouded in shadows sitting upon a metal chair like a throne. The only thing visible was his left eye. His monsters stepped into the spotlight and placed their package down. "Cinderblock, Overload. I see your mission was a success. Good." The mystery man commended them with a measured tone. "We will proceed with Phase Two. Wake him." Cinderblock complies, opening the pod and letting some steam out. The man inside begins to stir until he awakes from his slumber.
"I'm awake?" Prisoner 385901 asks, clearly disturbed from missing his beauty sleep. "I should never be awake! I'm only human when I'm sleeping!"
"But for what I have in mind, your human form is useless." the shadowy figure informs before leaning forward to declare "I need Plasmus." The prisoner's body starts to change, expanding and stretching until it becomes too big for the containment pod; the case shatters and standing in its spot is a giant human shaped purplish sludge like creature with a wide mouth and two tiny light green eyes. Prisoner 385901 or rather Plasmus, lets a screech like roar.
After the recent mission, the Titans (minus one) returned to their home, Titans Tower. Each Teen seemed to be wrapped up in their own thing. Beast Boy was on their phone, attempting to reach out to the half-machine, but only got his answering machine. "This is Cyborg. I'm either in the gym, playing GameStation, or kicking bad-guy butt. Leave a message." Ending with a beep and allowing the Changeling to speak.
"Hello? Cy? Pick up! Come on, Cy, pick up!" As he urges his friend to respond, Beast Boy paces back and forth. "I know you're there. The phone's built in your arm!" Getting no answer, he hangs up, a bit ticked.
The Tameranean, who was mixing something, finished and approached him with a spoon of slop. "Taste." she offers, then shoves the spoon into her friend's mouth without his consent; Beast Boy starts to gag me, then falls to the floor and spits out that slop.
"What is that? Cream of toenails?" he asked as he scrubbed off what was left on his tongue.
"Pudding of Sadness. It is what the people of my planet eat when bad things happen."Starfire explained as she took a taste herself. Her face twists in disgust as she forces it down her throat. She then goes over and offers some to Raven who was checking the monitors. "Try. The displeasing taste will ease your troubled mind."
"My mind is never troubled. People come, people go. It's pointless to be upset about Cyborg." Despite her words and her plain expression, her hair flared up and the monitors cracked. Star looked at her with wide-eyes but the auburn-haired teen seemed oblivious to what she did. "What?"
Star then moved onto the leader of the Titans who was just staring out the tower window. "Here, Robin. You must need this most of all since...well…" she doesn't finish but looks down sadly.
"Since he's the reason the big guy's gone?" Rex asked bluntly as he played video games. His teammates looked at him and he just shrugged. "I'm just saying. That's what happened. So obviously he'd feel bad about it."
"Appreciate your concern, but I'm fine." Robin replies and starts to walk away. "Who knows? Maybe we're better off without him."
Star watches him till he exits the Ops center. She then glares at the EVO. "What? It's not my fault Cyborg's gone." Rex tells her, receiving a spoonful of her pudding, which he simply swallows. "Not bad."
Just then, Ben Tennyson walks in and the Tameranean goes to greet him. "Welcome back Ben. Would you like some? Cyborg's departure must be depressing for you too."
"No thanks Star. And, I'm not that torn up about it." Ben admits. "Where's Robin?"
"He has gone to be alone. He wishes to ignore his feelings about what happened." Star told him with depression. "What can we do to help?"
"Nothing. Robin Just needs time. Cyborg too. Things'll work out, you'll see." Ben assured her before taking a spoon of her pudding, putting it in his mouth then spitting it back out. "Ugh, but next time you wanna cheer someone up, bring them a smoothie." The alien hero then went to join his friend playing the game. "Room for one more?"
"Knock yourself out bro," Rex said, passing him a controller. "So, where did you go?"
Ben 10 caught the controller and sat beside the EVO. "Back to the prison. Wanted to check their security system. Figured the only reason rockhead and lightning butt would break into prison would be to break someone out."
"Make sense. So, is anyone missing?" Rex inquired and Ben nodded. "Guess we didn't stop everyone from leaving huh. How many?"
"Just one. Prisoner 385901." Ben said.
"Just one? Shouldn't be too hard to put him back in right?" Rex asked.
Ben shrugged. "Don't know. I asked the guards about him and they freaked out. Said he was super dangerous, plus I saw the cell that he was held in. Tight security, guy definitely couldn't escape on his own. Apparently he needs to be asleep if we wanna bring him back."
"They couldn't give you more than that?" Rex questioned.
"Just a tip to find him fast and his name, Plasmus." Ben replied. "Guess we'll have to learn more the hard way."
"Right. So, figure a way home yet?" Rex asked.
"Not yet, but one step at a time. Let's enjoy the trip for now. Think of this as a vacation." Ben suggested.
"A working vacation," Rex joked.
In the gym, the Boy Wonder was working out by continuously striking a punching bag; he finishes with a roundhouse kick and stops to take a breather. His attention is then brought to his and Cyborgs's weight benches-the latter having set of large barbells specifically for the titanium teen.
In the kitchen, the shapeshifter added a stack of dirty dishes to the already huge pile at the sink. "Yo! Whose turn to do dishes?" he called out to his team.
"Cyborg." Robins replies, surprising the green Titan and making him shriek like a monkey. The masked teen then approaches the sink and starts to do the dishes himself.
Later, The leader was back in the Operations center, playing the GameStation, blasting an aircraft on the projected screen. "Come on, come on...I'm not scared to take...no! Yeah! Got it! Just one more and...yes!" he cheered as he blasted the final enemy. "New high score!" His name immediately smashed the previous high scorer's name, Cyborg. Despite this victory, the Titan had a sad expression again.
Robin then wandered down the hall until he stopped at Cyborg's room. The door opens and he looks around, seeing only the bookcase with pictures and a baseball on top, a computer desk with a football by the monitor, a trophy case in one rear corner, and areas for self-repair and diagnostics. He then picks up the picture that was on the dresser, it was of himself and Cyborg, smiling together with the latter holding up the peace sign. "I'm sorry." he says softly.
"There's no point in apologizing to a picture," Robin turned to see Ben 10 standing behind him leaning against the wall.
"Are you here to tell me that it's my fault Cyborg's gone?" Robin asked, looking back at the picture.
"Nah, you already know that. I'm also not going to say it's not your fault." Ben said.
"Then are you going to tell me to apologize to him?" Robin inquired.
"Nope. You seem pretty smart enough to know how to solve a problem. Just not smart enough to not create one," Ben joked but the leader still focused on the picture. "I just came to tell you that I think I've got a lead on the statue and the circuit board, so Rex and I are going to check it out."
"Need some help?" Robin offered.
"We got it. Besides, you seem a little busy brooding." Ben said as he put his hand on his teammates shoulder. "Don't worry dude, he'll come around. But if you want him back, then quit mopping and go get him." And with that, the alien hero went off to do his own thing.
Robin looked at the picture for a few extra moments before an alarm went off and got his attention. He rushed to the Ops center where his other teammates were gazing at a map of Jump City projected on the window; the focus point being a large flashing dot in a specific location. Robin runs in and asks "Cinderblock and Overload strike again?"
"You wish." Beast Boy answered.
At a chemical factory, multiple canisters were being filled with different types of mixtures that were combined into a special solution; once filled, the moving line would carry the cans of toxic substances over to the end where the giant sludge monster was waiting to consume them. Plasmus picked up two canisters and gulped them down one at a time, with each consumption, he grew larger. Upon his third drink, a starbolt was fired, hitting the can and blasting a hole in it, spilling out the substance. It looked through the hole like a telescope, spotting the four teens standing in the hole he probably made upon entry with the redhead channeling her energy.
"That stuff can't be good for you." Robin advised the monster.
Plasmus tossed the canister and replied with a big belch. "Nice one." Beast Boy praised. The monster then roared as it launched a few large bits of itself at the heroes.
Robin runs, dodging every bit of slime thrown before landing on a crate. "Star! Let him have it!"
The Tameranean did so, throwing another starbolt at the creature, hitting him in the chest, leaving a big gaping hole that dipped bits of it. "Did I let him have too much?" she asked with concern. Plasmus takes a deep breath and immediately his hole closes up.
"I'm thinking not enough." Beast Boy commented.
Plasmus resumes his attack by stretching his arm to grab Starfire. Raven pushes her friend out of the way. "Maybe he just needs to chill." the Boy Wonder suggested throwing a disk at the sludge monster's left arm, changing it to ice. The monster then shatters the ice while the Titans continue to attack; Starfire keeps firing her blasts. Making Plasmus stagger back. Beast Boy then goes pterodactyl and starts rapidly kicking the sludge monster. Plasmus blocked it with his remaining arm before attacking again by sending out many tentacles at them from where its arm used to be; Star keeps blasting to protect herself and her friend.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven chanted, using her powers to levitate several barrels and hurl them at the hit his body but don't damage him as he just launches them black at the cloaked-girl. She dodges them just as their leader tries to jump kick their adversary; his leg gets stuck and tries to kick it again, after that doesn't work he tries to punch, only to get the same result.
"Come on! Let me go, you giant zit!" Robin shouted, struggling to free himself. Plasmus roars again and shoots out a wave of slime with Robin in it. It goes and hits Beast Boy, covering the both of them completely.
"Robin!" Starfire goes to check on him.
"I'm okay...sort of." Robin assured, before spitting out some slime that got in his mouth.
"And I thought Star's pudding tasted bad!" the Changeling commented.
While the Titans continued to take on the monster, they were being observed by the mastermind of this crime; the mystery man from before. "Disappointing." the masked-man commented as he watched the battle on his screen. "With three Titans missing, this is almost too easy. I was expecting more of a challenge." He looks back to address his other two monstrous minions. "Cinderblock. Overload. It's time to begin Phase Three." The two grunt as the Granite giant picks up a large piece of equipment and the two leave to carry out their assignments.
At the tower, our HU duo returned to their home and sat on the couch. "Great, lead was a dead end." Rex complained. "I was so looking forward to getting back at those jerks for last time."
"Yeah, me too. We just gotta keep looking and be ready to pound that statue to rubble and unplug that computer chip." Ben said as he glanced around. "Where is everyone?"
"Must've got a lead of their own or something." Rex went over to the monitor and spotted where their teammates ran off too. "Looks like they got an alert of some slimy monster attacking a chemical factory."
"Gotta be that Plasmus those guards mentioned," Ben guessed. "Let's get over there and give em a hand. It's hero time!" The two race to leave the tower when another alarm goes off. "Now what?" Going back to the monitor, they see another location being pinpointed.
"Looks like we got something on our old friends, for real this time. They're just downtown." Rex said.
"Then that's where we're going. Come on!" Ben urged.
"What about the others? Shouldn't we help them first?" Rex inquired.
"They'll have to manage without us. We can't leave the other two just out there." Ben replied.
"Will they be alright without us?" Rex asked.
"Probably not. We are the best of the group." Ben said jokingly. "I'm sure they'll be fine. Just cause Cy's gone, doesn't mean the team's hopeless. Besides, it's just one guy,"
"Yeah, and we'll be facing the other two ourselves." Rex pointed out with a smirk. "Doesn't seem fair,"
"Yeah, for them. I was holding back so that the others could have some fun, but now I plan to go all out and kick both their butts!" Ben exclaimed, slamming his fist into his palm.
"Easy there, Monster Kid. You're not the only one who wants to get them back for last time." Rex told him.
"Then move it, Robot Boy. Cause it's hero time!" Ben declared running off.
"What is that, your catchphrase? How often do you say that?" Rex asked as he followed.
"As often as I can." Ben said. As they reach the entrance, Ben pressed down on his Ultimatrix, changing into a red humanoid manta-ray like alien with green eyes, yellow horns, gills under its arms, a tail and a yellow patagia. "Jetray!" The Aerophibian dashed off to its destination with Rex following on his sky slyder. The teens arrive at the Jump City bridge where the two monsters were setting up the weapon they received from their employer.
"What are they doing with that?" Rex asked.
"Let's ask them!" Ben said as he took a few shots at them, hitting them and getting their attention. "Hey guys, remember us?" Jetray fired again but this time, Overload stepped in front of his comrade and took the hits and then retaliated by zapping the Aerophibian with a few lightning bolts sending him flying towards his friend, who caught him with his smack hands.
"I'd say that's a yes." Rex commented. The rampaging rock and living lightning roared as they rushed to attack. "Here they come. How you wanna do this?"
"You take one and I take one?" Ben asked and Rex nodded. "Good. I'll take the gargoyle. I got somebody I want him to meet…" He presses on his emblem and changes into the Petro Saipen hero. "Diamonhead!" He shifts his hand into a mace and goes to confront the Gravel Giant.
"Guess I get to shut down the computer chip. Luckily, I'm good with machines." Rex said, pulling his goggles over his eyes and bringing out his funchucks. As he gets close to the electric enemy, he bangs his machines together, releasing an energy pulse that blows Overload back a bit. "Just a little blast from the past. Now thrill me!"
With Ben, he was continuously striking the stone sentinel with his mace fist before it grabbed his hand, punched him in the gut and then threw him away, making him skid across the bridge before stopping. "Alright big guy, you're definitely tough, but let's see how much you can take!" Diamondhead shifts his hands and starts firing diamond projectiles at Cinderblock. The giant crossed his arms over his face to block the rapid shots; he takes a few of them before deciding to do something else, slamming his fist on the ground, causing a quake that shook the Petrosapien and made him stumble, allowing the statue to charge at him and bash him back a bit. Just as he was about to do it again, Ben struck the bridge, summoning a trail of shards to spring out from the ground and surround Cinderblock, immobilizing him. The alien hero then rushes at his opponent and punches him square in the jaw.
Before it could recover, Ben raised his arms, bringing out larger pieces of diamond and sent them at the rock rogue, pinning him to the bridge. Ben then stands on top of his handy work and gazes down at the only thing not covered in shards, Cinderblock's head. "Say the word." he tells his foe, only to receive a roar as Cinderblock and starts pushing against his restraints, breaking free and tossing the shard Ben was on away from him. Ben lands and see Cinderblock breaking more of his diamonds. "Dude, you're supposed to say 'I yield.' Know when you're in over your blockhead." The monster replies with a snarl as he takes pieces of the diamond and starts throwing them back to the sender. Ben simply holds up his hand, using his telekinetic control over the shards to stop them in their tracks. "Did you really think that would-oof!" He was cut off when the Totem Titan tackled him into the side of the bridge. The two were soon locked in a test of strength, pushing against each other.
"Okay, blocks, now you're starting to tick me off. In fact…" Ben headbutts Cinderblock before pushing away. "You could say I'm fired up!" He hits his symbol again, changing into the pyronite protector. "Heatblast! Now let's really heat things up!" He then jumps and starts hurling multiple fire blasts at the boulder baddie; they explode all around him, allowing the fire alien to finish by conjuring a large fire ball and throwing it at him, consuming him entirely. "Now that's putting the cinder in Cinderblock." Ben said smugly, but his victory was short-lived as a force suddenly dispersed his flames and he looked to see the giant still standing with his hands together after using the thunderclap. Heatblast then ignited his fists and charged at his target. He began punching the contemporary Concrete repeatedly, only to stop when it didn't seem to affect him. Cinderblock immediately grabs the Pyronite and throws him; as the hero bounced across the bridge he uses his limited terrakinesis to pull out a large chunk of the ground before igniting it and riding it back towards the Golem. At the last second, he gets off, letting the flaming rock go on til it hits the villain and combusts.
"You're charcoal!" Ben declared, but when the smoke cleared, he saw CB still on his feet, his arms crossed in defense again. "Aw, man. Doesn't concrete burn?"
"Actually, it doesn't." Rex replied as he used his left arm to generate the block party, protecting himself from Overload's strikes while his right arm was still a fun chuck. He repeatedly slammed his machine, trying to smash the monster chip but it was swift enough to evade. It then grabbed his machine, sending an electric current through it that zaps the EVO. Rex shakes it off and brings out the Bad Ax, swinging at the living circuit board, managing to cut off a bit of it before it retaliates by striking the ground to send an electric wave that blows Rex into the alien with the flaming butt. Rex immediately takes off his jacket and stomps on it to stop it from smoking. "That was my favorite jacket! You'll pay for that lightning butt!"
"Gotta a plan for taking that thing down?" Ben inquired.
Rex shook his head. "Providence usually comes up with the plan to take down monsters for me. At least…Six and Holiday do." He looked a little saddened at his situation.
"Well, they're not here right now. Means you've gotta figure out how to get things done without them." Ben told him. "I promise, we'll find a way back to our homes. Until then, wanna trade partners?"
Rex smirked at his travel companion. "Sure. It should be easy busting this bust!" he assured.
"You'd think so, but he's tough." Ben warned.
Rex generates his classic smack hands and his punk busters, declaring. "I've beaten tougher!" before running to take on Cinderblock.
"For the record, so have I!" the Pyronite yells before jumping at the electronic chip and coming down on it with a massive fireball. When the explosion passed, the fire alien was standing over the circuit board with a flaming hand close to his head. "Since rockhead isn't much of a talker, I'll ask you some questions. And you'd better answer if you don't want me to fry your circuits!" Ben warned. "What are you morons planning? What's that machine you got there?"
"Overload say nothing." the living chip replied. It then used its limbs to grab the alien, restraining him, shocking him and throwing him off.
Ben recovers and conjures a fire blade. "Have it your way, Sparky!" he yelled before rushing to attack again.
With Rex, the mechanical EVO socked the Granite Goliath in the chest and in the head, making him stagger a bit; this gave Rex an opening he took, activating the jets in his boots and kicking his adversary in the head hard, knocking to the ground. "And now, game over!" He stands over Cinderblock and reaches out to touch him before pulling back upon remembering. "Oh, right. Not an EVO. Guess I gotta keep that in mind too."
Cinderblock growled as he grabbed Rex's arm, held him up and punched him a few times before slamming him into the ground. "Oh come on! What does it take to crack that rock hard skull of yours?" Cinderblock threw Rex into the air, he caught himself with his boogie pack; he landed and brought out Slam Cannon. "Concrete, meet concrete!" His maw takes a bite of the ground and then he shoots out a compressed ball of pavement at the gravent giant.
With Overload, Heatblast kept swinging at the virus wannabe but it didn't do much to faze it. "Who are you working for?! What are you planning with that thing?!" he yells. The electronic chip doesn't answer but spots the weapon they had brought earlier and smirked (whatever that looks like.) He then zips past the Pyronite and attaches himself to the equipment. The device suddenly comes to life and directs its cannon at the Teen heroes. "Uh, Rex, I think we've got a problem!" Ben alerted his friend.
"Great! Add it to the list!" Rex yelled as he was busy pushing back against the giant with his Smack hands.
The cannon started powering up and the energy started to build up in the barrel. "It's some kind of energy weapon."
"Good…to…know!" Rex replied.
Heatblast conjured his flames and fired at the Overloaded weapon, which fired a blast of its own. The attacks collide and push at each other for a bit until the machine sparks electricity and the energy blast increases, overwhelming the Pyronite's attack; Ben bails, directing he fire downward, propelling himself into the air to evade Overload's blast. The energy beam sails through the air, getting between the EVO and the Golem and making them separate; Ben then launches himself at the Gravel Giant, kicking him in the chest and knocking him away from Rex. "Alright big guy, time for you to take a nap!" Ben placed his hands on the ground, using his powers to melt the bridge, causing the Stone Soldier to get stuck in it and become immobilized once the Pyronite absorbed the heat. "Stick around, I'm sure the prison will save you a cell."
"Thanks for that. Now let's unplug that machine." Rex said. They flew towards the energy weapon; Overload started it up again and fired another shot, but not at the heroes, at the bridge. It started to crack, growing unstable from Overload's shots; Ben and Rex noticed it and the former flew over to stop the bridge from crumbling completely.
"I'll stabilize the bridge! You shut that thing down!" Ben ordered.
"No problem!" Rex assured, descending onto the blaster and placing his hands on it. He's instantly electrocuted by Overload and backs away from the weapon. "This could take a while." The blaster then, aims at the EVO and fires, but Rex brings out his block party to defend himself; while he's kept in place, the living circuit board detaches itself from the weapon and makes its way towards the trapped Granite guy.
"Overload help comrade Cinderblock." The chip stated. He starts zapping the cement and freeing the Golem.
"Uh, Ben, I could use a hand over here!" Rex yelled.
"Still a little busy! Just give me a minute!" Ben told him.
"By all means, take your time!" Rex says sarcastically. Once the Stone soldier is freed, the two monsters go to attack the EVO; Overload shoots electrical blasts at Rex, who generates the block party shields into a barrier. Rex does the best he can to defend himself from both Overload's attack and the weapon's blast just as Cinderblock rushes to attack as well. "Ben?!"
"Just a few more seconds!" Ben replies.
The Golem jumps to slam his fists on the barrier but before he could make impact, he's punched away by a metallic fist to the face. "Booyah!" the cybernetic teen cheered after knocking down the Gravel Giant. "Did ya miss me?"
"Hey, Cyborg! I'd offer you a high-five, but my hands are kinda full here." Rex greets his teammate.
"Don't worry Rex, I got your back!" Cy runs towards the weapon and grabs the barrel, using his strength to bend it so that it fires upward, allowing Rex to drop the barrier and try to slash at Overload with his big fat sword, but gets electrocuted and thrown towards Cyborg. Just as the Totem and Computer chip were running to attack again, a fire wall was put up to keep them back.
Heatblast lands beside his teammates. "Good to see you Cyborg. Hope this means you're back on the team."
"Felt wrong to let a stupid fight distance me from my friends. I just hope Mr. Hair gel will forgive me." Cyborg replied.
"As long as you forgive him. But we can worry about that after we take down these two jerks!" Rex states.
"Then let's end this quickly! Rex, shut down that weapon! Cy, keep the blockhead busy for a bit. Leave the spark plug to me." Ben instructed.
"You've got something to deal with all that electricity?" Cyborg asked.
"Oh yeah!" Ben pressed on his emblem, changing into his Perk Gourmand form. "Upchuck!"
"Is that the same little guy with the tongue from before? How's he supposed to help?" Rex inquired.
"You'll see." Ben replies with a thumbs up leaving to let the other teens carry out their tasks. "Alright sparky, time to chew you up and spit you out!" Overload fires electric bolts but the Gourmand simply opens his mouth, devouring the attacks and storing them in his stomach; he then shoots out three tongues that grab Overload's circuit board head and pulls it into his mouth along with the electrical body. "Now that hits the spot!" He then turns to face the Titanium Teen and the Granite Guy who are still fighting. "Hey Metal Man, get clear!" Cyborg stopped punching the Statue and looked to see Ben's stomach swelling up before jumping out of the way. Upchuck opens his mouth and releases an energy burst that nails Cinderblock right in the chest; the blast overwhelms the Gravel, sending him flying through the air and landing hard on the bridge like a meteor. In the crater, Cinderblock lays there smoking and unconscious.
"Alright! That little guy packs a punch." Cyborg jeered.
The alien and the cyborg look to see the EVO had successfully shut off the weapon the two monsters brought. "Done and done." Rex says, clasping his hands as Upchuck spits out the circuit board, completely out of power. The three rejoin just as Ben changes back to human and the teens share a high five. "What took you so long Cy?"
"Didn't have a ride," Cyborg jokes. "Better late than never though, right?"
"Yeah, I guess." Rex then turns to Ben. "You could've used that little alien to do that from the start?"
"Sorry, I was letting off some steam." Ben admits before looking back at the city. "But play time's over now. Our friends need back up."
"They're still dealing with that Plasmus? How much trouble can that guy be?" Rex wondered.
"Guess we'll find out. I'm gonna need a lift." Cyborg points out.
"Rex, can you give him a ride? I don't do so well with passengers." Ben requested.
"You got it!" Rex complies, generating his sweet ride, only for it to crumble to pieces. "On second thought, not happening."
"What's wrong?" Cyborg asked.
"Biometrics are low. Usually my doctor tells me about this." Rex explained. "Need a while to recharge."
Ben looks down at his watch, still active for use."Probably got enough for two more changes before needing a recharge. Alright, I can get us there, but we gotta move fast." He presses the Ultimatrix and changes into a Citrakayah. "Fasttrack! Alright you two, hold on!" The speedy cat-like alien grabbed his teammates and prepared to race towards the chemical factory.
"Wait!" Cyborg looked towards the defeated monsters and asked. "You think Robin likes presents?"
With the other Titans, they had managed to tied down the giant sludge monster, but their fight took a different turn when Plasmus split into five separate creatures; under Robin's orders the team to separate with each Titan facing one Plasmus creature, Starfire the Plasmus Snake, Beast Boy the Plasmus Crab, Raven the Plasmus Octopus and Robin the Plasmus Beetle.
The Boy Wonder led his creature to another room in the factory with a moving conveyor belt and several vats of chemicals. Robin pulls out his bo staff and jabs at the beetle multiple times until it grabs it with its pincers and snaps it. Robin takes another swing at the Plasmus beetle, only for his staff to be knocked out of his hand. Switching tactics, Robin takes a fighting stance and kicks at the slim bug.
With the other Titans, Beast Boy and Raven had been captured by the Plasmus Crab and Octopus respectively while Starfire kept fighting; when the sludge snake had her constricted, she emitted a large amount of her energy, blasting the snake to bits and freed herself. The Head of Plasmus just watched from on top of an equipment cabinet, commanding the other creatures as they came together and the snake began to reform.
Back with the Team leader, the Plasmus Beetle tried to grab him with its pincers but the Teen managed to hold them back. The two were carried by the conveyor belt until they reached the end; at the second, Robin smirked and circle threw the beetle into the chemical vat, unfortunately since he was at the end of the belt too, he fell off as well; though he managed to grab the belt, the beetle grabbed him, weighing him down until the belt gave out and Robin lost his grip. As the two fell to their doom, a certain cybernetic hand reached out to grab the masked Titan and pull him to safety as the sludge beetle fell and dissolved in the chemicals. The Boy Wonder takes a moment to catch his breath as his titanium teammate stood beside him. Cyborg smiled at his friend. "I still got the Sonic if you still got the Boom." Robin returns the smile.
With the other Titans, the Plasmus creatures had completely consumed them as the Head cackles wickedly; it stops once it stops Robin and Cyborg readying their attack. "Teen Titans! Go!" the duo yelled as they once again tried their combo move, this time getting it right. Robin and Cyborg ran up the walls, throwing an explosive disk and firing a sonic attack respectively; the two attacks combine and create a blinding explosion that takes out the Plasmus Head, blowing away the sludge and leaving the now sleeping body of Prisoner 385901. The other bits of slime start to dissolve, releasing the Tameranean, the Shapeshifter and the Cloaked-girl. Robin and Cyborg stare down at the sleeping man just as Rex and Ben rush inside. "Looks like we missed the party." Rex commented.
"You guys alright?" Ben asked three slime covered teens.
Moments later, the Titans watched as Prisoner 385901 now placed in a new containment pod, being loaded onto a truck. "Look, uh...sorry about…" Robin tries to apologize for their previous argument.
"Yeah." Cyborg accepts.
"So...are we cool?"
"Frosty." Cyborg smiles and holds out his fist, Robin smiles back and the two fist bump.
"You made up! Glorious! I wish to initiate a group hug." Starfire cheerfully requested, but her teammates didn't look interested in doing so.
"Pass." Raven refused.
"I'm good." Rex declined.
"Maybe later Star," Ben said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, warm fuzzies all around. But we still gotta stop Cinderblock and Overload." Beast Boy points out.
"No, we don't." Cyborg gestures to something on the side. "Ran into Ben & Rex before coming here; Thought I'd bring a present, 'case you were still mad at me." The Titans spot a winch carrying the Gravel Giant with the weapon he was using while Rex held up Overload's circuit head.
"Special delivery," Rex said.
"Sweet! So that's what you guys were doing instead of helping us?" Beast Boy asked.
Ben shrugged "Didn't think Plasmus was a big of a threat as he was. Sorry."
"No problem. But there is one thing that's still bothering me." Robin admitted getting Starfire, Raven & Beast Boy to worry. "Breaking into jail? Using Plasmus to distract us? The whole plan seems to be a little too smart for Cinderblock or Overload."
"I've been thinking the same thing." Cyborg agreed, to which the Tameranean and Shapeshifter sighed in relief.
"Someone must have been pulling the strings. But who?" Robin pondered.
"We tried asking them when we fought on the bridge, but no luck." Ben told him. "Guess we'll have to find out on our own."
"Well, whoever they are, they're no match for the Teen Titans." Cyborg assured.
"I heard that!" Robin said and the two shared a high five.
At the lair, the Shadow Master slammed his fist on his throne, breaking his cup of tea. Another man dressed in a white suit comes by and cleans up the shattered glass before serving another cup. "Next time, my plans will succeed. And the Titans will pay." he swore to himself.
A/N: And that's chapter two. Two done, a lot more to go. One step at a time.
