Pastoria City Gym Battle
After Lincoln and the others continued walking through Route 213, the group have finally arrived at Pastoria City where Lincoln's next gym battle awaits him.
"We're here." said Lincoln. "We should go to the Pokemon Center first; my Pokemon need treatment after their battle with Paul." Everyone nods in response. After getting directions from a civilian, they found the Pokemon Center. Once they entered, they see Paul getting his Pokemon back from a nurse. When he turns around, he sees Lincoln and the rest of the group; frowning.
"Ready to do the mock trade?" asked Luna as she pulls out her Graveler's pokeball.
"I guess." said Paul with no enthusiasm.
Both of them walk over to a trade machine and place their pokeballs in it; Luna turns on the machine and two tubes suck them up and swaps the Pokemon in them.
"Let's trade back." said Luna as she uses the machine again to make them swap their Pokemon back.
"Let out your Graveler so we can see what she's like, Lunes." said Sam.
"You got it." said Luna as she releases her Graveler to see her body was spherical and covered in green hexagonal plates, has two arms instead of four, a pair of legs, and an actual head with a flat snout and two fangs.
"What is it now?" asked Clyde, making Lincoln point his pokedex at it.
"Golem, the Megaton Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Geodude. It sheds its hide once a year. Its boulder-like body is so tough, even dynamite can't harm it." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Talk about a rock solid Pokemon." said Stella.
"What about Paul's Electabuzz?" asked Sam. Paul just looks at his pokeball before tossing it, releasing his Electabuzz, only is was bigger, more bulkier, had red eyes with a black stripe over each of them, black fingers and feet with claws, and two black tails with red tips. Lincoln points his pokedex at Paul's newly evolved Electabuzz.
"Electivire, the Thunderbolt Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Elekid. It pushes the tips of its two tails against the foe, then lets loose with over 20,000 volts of electricity." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"So, what are you going to do now, Paul?" asked Lincoln; Paul returns Electivire to its pokeball.
"Since I already beat the gym here, I have no reason to stay." said Paul. "I'm going back to Hearthome City to see if the gym leader returned."
"I hope so; I wouldn't want to have gone all the way back there for nothing." replied Lincoln. Paul then walks out of the Pokemon Center. Lincoln walks to the nurse and gives her his pokeballs; the group then walks to the cafeteria for lunch.
"So, Lincoln; what kind of Pokemon do you think the gym leader uses?" asked Clyde.
"Not sure; pretty sure Paul wouldn't have told me even if I did ask him." said Lincoln.
"I'm sure whatever Pokemon uses, you can take them." said Stella, making Lincoln smile. After the group finished eating, the group exits the cafeteria; Lincoln walks to the nurse and got his Pokemon back. After that, the group exits the Pokemon Center.
Moments later, the group were standing in front of the Pastoria City Gym.
"Before we go in, I should call me and Luna's family to let them know we're here." said Lincoln. He uses his Poketch to call his family; seconds later, a holographic image of his family appeared.
"Hey, son." said Lynn Sr.
"Hi, everybody; I'm at the Pastoria City Gym." said Lincoln.
"Yeah! Can't wait to watch." said Lana.
"Take that gym leader down!" said Lynn Jr.
"We'll be cheering for you." said Leni.
"Thanks, everybody." said Lincoln. Suddenly, a drone hovers down close to them.
"My dimensional drone is ready to observe your gym battle for us to watch, Lincoln." said Lisa. Lincoln nods before he and the rest of the group entered the gym; Clyde holds the door open so the drone can get through.
The group find themselves looking at a large pool with several floating platforms on it.
"Is that the battlefield?" asked Lincoln.
"You bet it is!" a loud voice replied. The group looks to see a large shirtless man with a patch of black hair and beard, wearing a blue mask with white wings on it, blue pants with an orange outline and black appendages on the legs, orange and blue bracers and boots, and a white cape, standing on one end of the pool.
"Are you the gym leader?" asked Lincoln.
"You bet I am; my name's Crasher Wake!" said the man, now identified as Crasher Wave.
"That guy looks more like a wrestler than a gym leader." said Lynn Jr from the Louds' living room.
"Hello, Crasher Wake; my name is Lincoln Loud, and I'm here for a gym battle." said Lincoln.
"I will take on any trainer challenging me to a gym battle." said Crasher Wake. "When you're ready, we'll get started."
"I'm ready right now." replied Lincoln.
"That's what I like to hear." said Crasher Wake.
"That's the spirit, son!" said Lynn Sr.
"Go get him, Lincoln." said Clyde. Stella walks to Lincoln and kisses him, making Dawn glare at her.
"I'll be cheering for you." said Stella, making Lincoln smile. Moments later, Lincoln was standing on one end of the battlefield while Crasher Wave stood on the other; the rest of the group sat on bleachers. A man walked to one side of the pool.
"This is an official gym battle between Crasher Wake the gym leader, and Lincoln Loud the challenger." said the man acting as an official. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon; the trainer who defeats their opponent's Pokemon first will be the winner. Let the battle begin." Crasher Wake takes off his cape and tosses it aside before pullng out a pokeball while Lincoln pulls out a pokeball.
"Gyarados, go!" said Crasher Wake, throwing a pokeball and releasing a blue, serpent-like Pokemon with a yellow underside; it lets out a loud roar. Lynn Sr screams and jumps behind the sofa.
"What is that?!" asked Lynn Sr. Sam takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon, and the evolved form of Magikarp. Once Gyarados appears, its rage never settles until the Pokémon has razed the fields and mountains around it." said Sam's pokedex.
"That Pokemon looks vicious." said Rita.
"I'll say." said Lana.
"I hope Linky will be okay." said Leni.
"He'll be fine; he did with that Onix back at the Rustburo City Gym." said Rita.
"Dragonair, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Dragonair's pokeball, and releasing her.
"Whoa; you have a Dragonair?!" asked Crasher Wake.
"You bet I do." replied Lincoln. The Gyarados glares harshly at Dragonair, making her nervous, and lowering her attack strength.
"Gyarados must have the Intimidate ability." said Stella. Both Pokemon were about to get started with their battle.
"Dragonair, get onto one of the platforms and use Thunder Wave on the water!" His Dragonair does so and a surge of static electricity travels towards the Gyarados and hits it, causing paralysis.
"Nice one, buddy!" said Clyde.
"Gyarados, use Twister!" said Crasher Wake. His Gyarados fights through paralysis and creates a tornado with its tail that hits Dragonair, dealing super effective damage, and making her flinch.
"Be careful, Dragonair!" said Sam.
"Gyarados, use Ice Fang!" said Crasher Wake. His Gyarados lunges at Dragonair as ice covered its fangs.
"Dragonair, use Agility to dodge, then use Slam!" said Lincoln. His Dragonair quickly maneuvers around the Gyarados' attempted bite and strikes it in the side of its head with her tail.
"Gyarados, try using Ice Fang again!" said Crasher Wake. His Gyarados tries to attack, but paralysis stops it.
"Dragonair, use Leer!" said Lincoln. His Dragonair's eyes glowed red as it glares at the Gyarados, making it nervous, and lowering its defense.
"Gyarados, use Crunch!" said Crasher Wake. Gyarados fights through its paralysis and lunges at Dragonair while its teeth glowed white and it bites Dragonair, dealing damage, and weakening her defense.
"Dragonair, use Dragon Tail!" said Lincoln. Dragonair lunges at Gyaraodos while her tail becames surrounded by a green aura and she hits Gyarados with it, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Gyarados is unable to battle. Dragonair wins the match." said the official.
"Way to go, Dragonair." said Lincoln.
"All right, Lincoln!" cheered Simon.
"That was so cool!" said Lana.
"He took that scary Pokemon down." said Lola.
"I hope Crasher Wake's next Pokemon isn't as frightening." said Lynn Sr as he gets out from behind the sofa. Crasher Wake returns Gyarados to its pokeball.
"You did well, Gyarados." said Crasher Wake. He puts Gyarados' pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Quagsire, go!" He throws the pokeball and releases a bipedal, light blue, amphibious Pokemon onto one of the floating platforms. Dawn points her pokedex at Crasher Wake's Pokemon.
"Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokemon, and the evolved form of Wooper. It has a sluggish nature. It lies at the river's bottom, waiting for prey to stray into its mouth." said Dawn's pokedex.
"At least this Pokemon looks friendly." said Lynn Sr.
"Quagsire, use Mud Shot!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire fires a ball of mud out of its mouth and it hits Dragonair, dealing damage, and lowering her speed.
"Dragonair, use Twister!" said Lincoln. Dragonair releases a tornado from the end of her tail and it hits Quagsire, dealing damage.
"Quagsire, use Slam!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire leaps at Dragonair and slams its tail onto her head, dealing damage.
"Dragonair, you use Slam right back!" said Lincoln; Dragonair leaps at Quagsire.
"Quagsire, use Haze!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire releases a thick black smoke from its mouth and it covers the pool. Dragonair swings her tail down onto the spot she saw and it hits the platform, revealing Quagsire wasn't on it.
"Where did it go?" asked Lincoln, looking around. Quagsire suddenly comes up from the pool, behind Dragonair.
"Quagsire, use Slam once more!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire swings its tail down onto Dragonair and hits her on the head; she falls into the pool, unconscious.
"Dragonair is unable to battle. Quagsire wins the match." said the official.
"Poor Dragonair." said Leni.
"How dare that Quagsire hurt that beautiful Dragonair!" yelled Lola.
"You can do it, Lincoln!" said Dawn.
"Keep on battling!" said Luna. Lincoln returns Dragonair to her pokeball.
"You were great, Dragonair." said Lincoln. He puts Dragonair's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go,Victreebel!" He throws Victreebel's pokeball, and releases her.
"Quagsire, use Mud Shot!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire fires a ball of mud out of her mouth and it hits Victreebel, dealing damage.
"Victreebel, use Leaf Tornado!" said Lincoln. Victreebel spins around and creates a tornado with light green leaves of energy in it at Quagsire, hitting it, and dealing massive damage to it; Quagsire struggles to stay on its feet.
"Quagsire, use Slam!" said Crasher Wake. Quagsire leaps at Victreebel and slams its tail onto her, dealing damage.
"Victreebel, use Knock Off!" said Lincoln. Victreebel's vine glowed white and she strikes Quagsire with it; it lands on one of the platforms with swirly eyes.
"Quagsire is unable to battle. Victreebel wins the match." said the official.
"That was great, Victreebel!" said Lincoln.
"You're doing great, Lincoln!" said Stella.
"Just one more win!" said Clyde.
"Keep it up, Lincoln!" said Rita.
"That'll teach that Quagsire for hurting Dragonair!" yelled Lola. Crasher Wake returns Quagsire to its pokeball.
"You were incredible, Quagsire." said Crasher Wake. He puts Quagsire's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "If you want that badge, you'll have to beat my final Pokemon; Floatzel, go!" He throws a pokeball, releasing a Floatzel.
"Crasher has a Floatzel too?" asked Simon.
"Looks like it, little bro." said Sam.
"Floatzel, use Quick Attack!" said Crasher Wake. Floatzel leaps at Victreebel with incredible speed and rams her, dealing damage.
"Victreebel, use Leaf Storm!" said Lincoln. Victreebel leaps up and multiple glowing leaves start spinning around her body; Victreebel fires the leaves at Floatzel, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Floatzel, use Bite!" said Crasher Wake. Floatzel leaps at Victreebel and bites her, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Ice Fang!" Floatzel's fangs becomes encased in ice and it bites Victreebel, dealing super effective damage; Victreebel becomes encased in ice.
"Victreebel, try to break free!" said Lincoln. Unfortunately, Victreebel remained frozen.
"Floatzel, use Double Hit!" said Crasher Wake. Floatzel's tails glowed white and it hits Victreebel with them, breaking the ice she was encased in, and knocking her out.
"Victreebel is unable to battle. Floatzel wins the match." said the official.
"Keep battling, Lincoln!" shouts Lynn Jr.
"Wincoln! Wincoln!" chanted Lily.
"Lincoln! Lincoln!" the rest of the Louds chanted. Lincoln smiles before returning Victreebel to her pokeball.
"You were amazing, Victreebel." said Lincoln. He puts Victreebel's pokeball away and pulls another pokeball from his waist. "Let's see whose Floatzel is stronger!" He throws his Floatzel's pokeball, and releases him.
"So, you have a Floatzel also." said Crasher Wake; Lincoln nods in response.
"Floatzel, use Swift!" said Lincoln. His Floatzel leaps up and swings his tails, releasing multiple stars from them and they hit Crasher Wake's Floatzel, dealing damage.
"Floatzel, use Double Hit!" said Crasher Wake. Floatzel leaps at Lincoln's Floatzel while its tails glowed white and it hits Lincoln's Floatzel with them, dealing damage.
"Floatzel, use Bite!" said Lincoln. Floatzel bite Crasher Wake's Floatzel, damaging it, and making it flinch. "Okay, Floatzel, use Double Hit!" Lincoln's Floatzel's tails glowed white and he hits Crasher Wake's Floatzel with them, dealing damage.
"Floatzel, use Quick Attack!" said Crasher Wake. His Floatzel leaps at Lincoln's Floatzel and rams him, knocking him back.
"Floatzel, use Swift!" said Lincoln. His Floatzel leaps up and swings his tails, releasing multiple stars that hits Crasher Wake's Floatzel, dealing damage.
"Floatzel, use Double Hit!" Lincoln and Crasher Wake say in unison. Both Floatzels leap at each other while their tails glowed white and they strike each other with them; they both get sent flying back and they land on seperate platforms. They were both breathing heavily until Crasher Wake's Floatzel falls off its platform and into the water; it floats back up with swirly eyes.
"Crasher Wake's Floatzel is unable to battle. Lincoln's Floatzel wins the match. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official.
"We won!" cheered Lincoln.
"He did it!" shouts Clyde.
"That was awesome!" said Simon.
"Yay, Lincoln!" cheered Leni.
"That was, literally, incredible." said Lori.
"We're proud of you, Lincoln!" said Rita. Stella runs out of the bleacher and tackle hugs Lincoln; he stumbles back and they both fall into the pool. They both come up from the water, laughing. Crasher Wake returns his Floatzel to its pokeball.
"You gave it all you got; you got nothing to be ashamed of." said Crasher Wake.
Moments later, Crasher Wake was standing in front of a soaking wet Lincoln.
"You're quite the trainer, Lincoln." said Crasher Wake.
"Thanks a lot." replied Lincoln as he was wringing the bottom of his shirt. Crasher Wake holds out a badge shaped like a lake with gray reeds around it towards Lincoln.
"For your victory here in the Pastoria Gym, I present you with the Fen Badge." said Crasher Wake.
"Thanks, Crasher." replied Lincoln, taking the Fen Badge, along with pokedollars; he lifts up the Fen Badge. "I just won the Fen Badge!" Lincoln's family and friends cheered for him. Stella walks to Lincoln from behind and wraps her arms around his shoulders.
"How about while we wait for our clothes to dry off, we can go to the beach." said Stella. "I might let you put sunscreen on my back; when I say 'might', I mean 'will'." Lincoln smiles in response.
Later, at the beach outside Pastoria City, Stella was lying on her back in her red swimsuit while Lincoln, who was in his orange swim trunks was rubbing sunscreen onto Stella's back who lets out a relaxed sigh while the rest of the group, wearing swimming attire were enjoying themselves, except Dawn, who was glaring at Stella.
Lincoln has defeated Crasher Wake and has won his fourth badge. Now he's halfway to winning all the badges he needs to compete in the Sinnoh League. What else awaits Lincoln and his friends as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
