Coronet Highlands
After a day of travelling on the road, the Galaxy Team Survey Corps has finally reached their destination: The Coronet Highlands.
They look around at the large mountain range that stood before them, with their eyes focused mainly on the space time rift that was hovering over the highest mountain.
"Such a spectacular phenomenon." said Lisa. "I cannot wait to get an opportunity to study it up close."
"And the mountain below it is the highest point in the entire Hisui region: Mount Coronet." said Professor Laventon.
"Let's set up a base came." said Rei.
"Where we're standing right now looks like a good spot." said Akari.
"OOH! Let me do it!" said Lana as she grabs some tools she brought with and gets to work at an incredible pace while everyone watches with stunned expressions.
Five minutes later, Lana finishes clearing the land, and setting up all the tents.
"Not even the Construction Corps is able to do their work at such speed." said Professor Laventon. "We shall call this the Highlands Camp."
"How are you so good with tools, Lana?" asked Rei.
"I'm hoping I can remember why someday." said Lana with sadness.
"Maybe that doesn't matter." said Lincoln. "We can remember our family and friends, so that's good enough for now."
"Yeah, I guess." said Lana.
"I still want to remember more about us." said Luna.
"I'll bet Ingo wishes the same thing." said Luan.
"I hope we can help him somehow." said Lincoln.
"What kind of Pokemon do you think are here?" asked Lana with excitement.
"I'm judging by the terrain that there could be several types of rock and ground types all over the craggy, mountainous terrain." said Professor Laventon.
"Now where's that chump, Melli?" asked Lynn.
"He has to be around here somewhere." said Rei.
"Let's look around for a bit." said Lincoln.
"We can probably get some training for our Pokemon while we do." said Lynn.
"And you should probably know, Lynn; that your Decidueye has a few new moves called Aura Sphere and Triple Arrows." said Professor Laventon.
"Nice." said Lynn. "I can't wait to try them out."
"Well, let's get going." said Luna.
The Loud sibling, along with Akari and Rei head out to explore the Coronet Highlands. They check out some nearby ruins where they notice a statue that looked like a living creature with a hatlike protrusion on its head, along with a big nose and mustache.
"What do you think this is?" asked Lincoln.
"Could be a Pokemon we haven't seen before." said Rei.
"Do you think there's one around here somewhere?" asked Lincoln.
"Maybe." said Akari.
"Who or what do you think made these ruins?" asked Lisa.
"Maybe people long ago?" suggested Lincoln.
"Or Pokemon could've done this." said Lisa. "There is much we still don't know about them."
"Which is why we should continue our work on the pokedex." said Rei.
"Yeah, yeah; enough sightseeing." said Lynn. "Let's just get going."
The group leaves the ruins and look around the area, seeing Pokemon they already have, such as Yanmas, Parasects, and Luxrays.
The Loud siblings take the time to battle them in order to get more data for their pokedex, as well as train up their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Typhlosion learned Shadow Ball and Overheat, his Luxray and Parasect got stronger, his Floatzel learned Hydro Pump, his Gallade learned Psychic, and his Togepi not only learned Extrasensory, she froze up and started to glow.
"Hey! Togepi's evolving!" said Lincoln. Everyone watches as Togepi begins to change before their eyes; when she was done, she was a bit bigger and completely white with red and blue markings on her torso, and she has a neck and wings.
"What is she now?" asked Lana.
"I believe she is a Togetic now." said Lisa.
"Awesome." said Lincoln.
Lynn's Decidueye learned Brave Bird, her Machoke and Onix got stronger, and her Octillery learned Hydro Pump.
Lana's Mothim got stronger, her Monferno got stronger, her Snorlax learned Crunch and High Horsepower, her Gastrodon learned Recover, her Croagunk learned Earth Power, and her Stunky learned Poison Jab.
During Lana's training, her Monferno, Croagunk, and Stunky began to glow.
"Whoa; Monferno, Croagunk, and Stunky are evolving." said Lana. She watched as her Pokemon began to grow and change shape. When they stopped glowing, Monferno was taller, his torso, lower legs, and around his face were white, he has a large flame on top of his head, and has gold, fireball shaped markings on his chest, shoulders, knees, and the back of his hands.
"Your Monferno has evolved into Infernape." said Professor Laventon.
Croagunk was bigger, she was teal and dark blue, had a spike coming out of her head, a red sac under her chin, and had a red spike coming out of the back of each of her hands.
"Your Croagunk is now a Toxicroak." said Professor Laventon.
Stunky was now bigger, and her tail went down her back and over her head.
"And your Stunky is now a Skuntank." said Professor Laventon.
"Yeah!" cheered Lana.
Luan's Staraptor got stronger, her Dustox learned Bug Buzz, her Mr Mime learned Calm Mind, and her Chatot learned Nasty Plot.
Luna's Staraptor also got stronger, her Dustox also learned Bug Buzz, her Kricketune learned Swords Dance, her Sneasel learned Close Combat, and Aipom learned Double Hit.
When Aipom learned her new attack, she froze up and starts to glow.
"Whoa, dudes!" said Luna. "Aipom's evolving!" Everyone watches as Aipom begins to change; when she was done, she was bigger, she had two long strands of fur coming out the top of her head, and she now had two tails that had a hand on the end of each one of them.
"Your Aipom has evolved into Ambipom." said Professor Laventon.
"Rad." said Luna.
Lucy's Drifloon got stronger, her Kadabra learned Psychic, her Crobat learned Leech Life, her Haunter learned Shadow Ball, her Murkrow learned Nasty Plot, and her Umbreon learned Calm Mind. During her Drifloon's training, she froze up and started to glow.
"My Drifloon's evolving." said Lucy. Everyone watches as her Drifloon begins to change; when she was done, she was bigger. most of her main body was a darker shade of purple, and she had four, light purple, sash-like arms that were yellow at the ends.
"I believe that your Drifloon is a Drifblim now." said Lisa. "All the evolutions we've experienced today will help add more data to the pokedex."
"Wicked." said Lucy.
Lisa's Pikachu learned Iron Tail, her Wyrdeer learned Zen Headbutt, her Kleavor learned X-Scissor, her Porygon learned Recover, and her Magby not only learned Flamethrower, she froze up and started to glow.
"Splendid." said Lisa. "My Magby is beginning to evolve." Everyone watches as her Magby evolves into a Magmar.
"More data for the pokedex." said Lincoln.
After some training and writing all the data they collected into their pokedex, they head back to the Highlands Camp for a quick lunch.
"So where were we supposed to meet with that Ingo person?" asked Luan.
"There's a tunnel entrance into the mountains nearby at the other side of a stone bridge." said Rei as he points to the northwest.
"Maybe that Melli guy will be there." said Lynn
"Let's just eat so we can get going." said Lincoln.
Once everyone finishes their meals, they head in the direction that Rei pointed out to them and soon reach the bridge where they see Warden Ingo waiting.
"There he is." said Luan. The Survey Corps runs to the other side of the bridge, getting the warden's attention.
"Greetings, Galaxy Team." Warden Ingo says to the Loud siblings, Akari, Rei, and Professor Laventon.
"Hi, Ingo." said Luan.
"So, what's the Lord here like?" asked Lincoln.
"The Pokemon is known as an Electrode." said Warden Ingo. "Its electrical discharges can put you in danger if you don't tread carefully."
"What should we do?" asked Lana.
"If you're going to battle it, then you should have Pokemon that can withstand electricity." said Warden Ingo.
"I got my Luxray and Parasect." said Lincoln.
"My Decidueye can handle a little electricity." said Lynn.
"I got my Gastrodon." said Lana.
"Yes, ground types are completely immune to electricity." said Lisa. "Anyway, I got my Pikachu."
"I don't have any Pokemon that would be able to help out that much." said Luan.
"Me, neither." said Luna.
"Same here." said Lucy.
"That's okay." said Lincoln. "I'm sure that me, Lynn, Lana, and Lisa can take care of the Electrode on our own."
"It must be difficult being a Pokemon, don't you think?" asked Warden Ingo. "Especially one as irritable as Electrode."
"So true!" a familiar voice yells out from the tunnel entrance, making everyone look to see Melli coming out of it. "It's a tough old life for a Pokemon and humans alike!"
"Oh, it's Melli." said Lynn in a sour tone.
"Well, well, Warden Ingo of the Pearl Clan." Melli says before looking at the Galaxy Team. "And the Galaxy Team Survey Corps grunts I met before."
"Who are you calling a grunt?!" asked Lynn as she holds out a fist towards Melli.
"You're punching well above your weight to seek out the great Lord Electrode, Lord of the Hollow!" Melli says to the Loud siblings.
"That's not the only thing I'll be punching!" said Lynn as she punches the palm of her other hand while glaring at Melli.
"But, by the tenderness of my heart, I'll grant you a trial to see if you're worthy." said Melli.
"Bring it on!" said Lynn.
"The greatest obstacle you'll ever face awaits you right here!" said Melli. "Battle me, if you dare!"
"Oh, I dare all right." said Lynn. Moments later, Lynn and Melli were standing several yards from each other while everyone else watched. "How many Pokemon are we using?"
"I don't want to waste time with all of you, so we'll each use one." replied Melli as he pulls a pokeball from his waist.
"Fine by me." said Lynn as she pulls out a pokeball from her waist.
"Skuntank, go." said Melli as he throws a pokeball and releases a Skuntank.
"He has a Skuntank too." said Lana.
"Octillery, go!" said Lynn, throwing Octillery's pokeball, and releasing him. "Octillery, use Charge Beam!" Octillery fires a beam of electricity out of his mouth, and it hits Skuntank, dealing damage; Octillery begins surging with energy. "Chump; Charge Beam powers up Octillery's special attack strength."
"It'll take more than that to beat Skuntank!" replied Melli. "Skuntank, use Night Slash!" Skuntank pounces at Octillery while its claws glowed white, and it claws Octillery with them, dealing damage.
"Octillery, use Water Pulse!" said Lynn. Octillery fires a ball of blue water out of his mouth, and it hits Skuntank, dealing more damage than it normally would have due to Octillery's special attack being increased; Skuntank begins stumbling around.
"Skuntank's confused." said Lisa.
"Skuntank, Poison Jab!" said Melli. Skuntank fights through its confusion and leaps at Octillery while its claws glowed purple; Skuntank thrusts its claws into Octillery, dealing damage; it turned purple under Octillery's eyes.
"Oh man; Octillery's poisoned." said Lincoln. Octillery coughs from his poisoning and loses energy.
"Octillery, use Ice Beam!" said Lynn. Octillery fires light blue beams of energy from his mouth, and it hits Skuntank, damaging it, and encasing it in ice.
"Skuntank, break free and use Night Slash!" said Melli. Unfortunately, Skuntank remained frozen; Octillery coughs from his poisoning.
"Time to finish this; Octillery, use Hydro Pump!" said Lynn. Octillery fires a powerful stream of water from his mouth, and it hits Skuntank, shattering the ice, and knocking Skuntank out.
"Unbelieveable!" yelled Melli.
"Believe it, chump." said Lynn.
"All right, Lynn!" said Lana.
"You showed him!" said Luan. Melli growled before returning his Skuntank to its pokeball.
"Perhaps you're not as inexperienced as I believed." said Melli.
"You got that right!" said Lynn.
"Then let me tell you the great Melli's take on this whole situation." said Melli. "The frenzy of our nobles is nothing other than a mark of almighty Sinnoh's favor and protection!"
"Really?" asked Lana.
"Yes, because it makes them stronger!" said Melli. "Do I really need to spell out that that's a good thing? We must let my lord frenzy as it may, to demonstrate to almight Sinnoh that the Diamond Clan lives as its right and good! This may even be, dare as I say it, the very reason I am here on this earth!"
"Talk about an ego." said Luna.
"What business is it of the Galaxy Team's, anyway, if Electrode lets out a few sparks out here in the mountains?" asked Melli.
"If there's a chance that Pokemon and people could get hurt in the process, then we have to do something about it." said Lincoln.
"You should all do us a favor and slink back home to that village of yours, rather than persist in this folly!" said Melli.
"We'll do whatever we want to do, chump!" said Lynn.
"Then I bid you all a bon voyage!" said Melli before she goes into tunnels.
"The nerve of that man." said Akari.
"Don't listen to him." said Rei.
"What a selfish outlook." said Warden Ingo. "The frenzies cause the Pokemon themselves such suffering!"
"Then we have to calm Electrode." said Lincoln.
"Very well!" said Warden Ingo. "The tracks ahead will be perilous, but I pride myself on safe driving!"
"With all the train references you say often, maybe you were a conductor before you lost your memory." said Lincoln.
"That's possible." said Warden Ingo. "To meet with Sneaseler, you must head through here; Wyrdeer Cave."
"Then let's get going." said Luan.
"Inside, you will find Pokemon like Golbat and their ilk, which are quite at home navigating in the dark." said Warden Ingo.
"Our sister, Lucy, here is also at home in the dark." said Lynn as she points at her goth sister.
"It's quite dim inside, so you'll have to watch your step." said Warden Ingo.
"We will." said Professor Laventon.
The Galaxy Team Survey Corps have arrived in the Coronet Highlands and are about to make their way into Wyrdeer Cave. What will they experience as their work continues?
