When Julian came to town to direct his movie, he once told Luke he was lucky to have a wife like Lindsey. Now, those words made him question how long this affair had been going on.
Lindsey's nonchalance about the situation made him even angrier. He never thought he'd have to resort to spying on his wife, but now he found himself in Washington D.C. trying to unravel her lies. This was a scheduled stop for Jeremy's book tour in hosting a book talk about his new thriller series.
He entered the Barnes and Noble where the event was scheduled and immediately noticed his wife wearing a new dress, that managed to show off her curves while perfectly concealing her 14 – week baby bump.
"You were brilliant," Lindsey told Jeremy as the book talk came to a close. "I think you have more fans than we realized!"
"Thanks, you get all the credit," he said, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
Luke watched his wife's carefree expression, from behind a row of book shelves. She leaned in and touched Jeremy's arm, running her manicured nails delicately along his skin. Luke felt his heart clench realizing this is how she used to look at him and made him feel like he was the only one in the room. Now, he watched as she showered Jeremy with that same praise.
"What do you say, I take you out as a thanks," Jeremy smiled confidently.
Luke followed them, feeling knots in his stomach as they entered a sports bar a short walk away. They sat up at the bar, huddling in closely together lost in deep conversation. He watched Jeremy flag the bartender and they toasted each other when he delivered their drinks.
Luke could not take another second. "Are you drinking?" he demanded as he approached them.
They both turned around in shock. Jeremy put his glass down, looking blindsided.
"What are you doing here?" Lindsey snapped, looking very unhappy.
"You're kidding right? You get mad at me if I go out without you and here you are doing this without checking in once," Luke raised his voice at her, making a few people stop and stare.
"You are losing it Luke. I don't have to run anything by you!"
"I'm done. I want a divorce," at this point he didn't care who knew their problems.
"Good so do I," she said self-righteously.
"I'm getting a good lawyer and I'm taking you to court," Luke said.
"I'm tired of your threats," Lindsey replied.
"You cheated on me though, right?" Luke demanded.
"Give it up bro," Jeremy interrupted as Lindsey looked away.
"Are you sleeping with him too?" Luke asked, getting in her face. "I need to know if there's a chance this baby isn't mine."
"I'm not pregnant anymore," Lindsey glared at him.
"You're lying. Just like you lie about everything. You said everything was fine at the last check-up," Luke felt rage boiling inside of him.
"Go home Luke," Lindsey said dismissively.
"You were just talking about moving to New York with the baby a few weeks ago."
Lindsey shook her head.
"What did you do?" Luke yelled, throwing over the bar stool next to her. He reached out and grabbed her arm.
"Oww you're hurting me!" Lindsey lied, pushing him away.
"We need security over here," Jeremy called, getting in front of Lindsey.
"Thank you," Lindsey whispered to Jeremy.
Luke looked at her in disgust. He wondered if she had some split personality disorder because this was a person he didn't recognize.

After Luke was thrown out and asked to never come back, he began walking aimlessly.
He had never felt more down and lost.
He entered another bar and started a tab. All around him people were crowding into each other's personal space and enjoying life without a care in the world.
It was very late when he returned to his car. He was drunk and disoriented. He pulled over near a bridge contemplating his despair.
He called and text Lindsey again and again. He lost count of how many times. He pictured her in bed with Jeremy. Then he dialed Brooke's number without thinking. He knew she hated him when she didn't pick up. Losing his wife and one of his best friends made him numb.
He tore off his wedding ring and threw it over the bridge into the darkened water below. It barely made a splash.
He felt so broken as he returned to his car. He started driving fast without paying enough attention. He heard horns blaring just as he slammed into a guardrail. He was thrown into the windshield and as the airbags deployed with force. He felt sharp pain everywhere before everything went black.

Brooke was checking out a customer the next morning in her store, when she saw Peyton enter her shop balancing a cup from Karen's café on Lizzy's stroller. Peyton wasn't much for going out on girl's nights, especially since getting married, but she had made a habit of dropping in for a quick visit while Ethan was in preschool.
After her customer left, Peyton approached her.
"What's up?" Brooke asked, waving at Lizzy. Her smile faltered when she saw Peyton's serious expression. "Is Nicki back?"
Peyton shook her head, "I was just in Karen's café getting coffee and – and the waitress told me," she paused breathing deeply.
"What?"
"Luke was in an accident last night," Peyton said with her voice shaking.
"What – what did she say exactly?" Brooke asked in disbelief. She had just gotten another call from Lucas last night, but she had already been asleep.
"Karen is at the hospital. Luke was in some car accident and has a bad head injury."
"No -no that can't be right, how could that happen?" Brooke put her hand over her mouth, feeling like she could faint.
"The waitress told me he's in-between surgeries, but she doesn't know much else."
"He's gonna be okay? Right?" Brooke asked.
Peyton shrugged. "I don't think they know yet. It sounds terrible."
