Fumikage couldn't help feeling anxious as the time for dinner rolled closer and closer.
Even as he busied himself with organizing the dishes for Bakugou, putting plates, bowls and silverware onto one of the two islands so everyone could serve themselves.
Bakugou made sure to make a nice variety of dishes, taking into account the many dietary needs the others might have.
Well, except for live prey, they only had dead prey in the pantry currently, which he and Sadi had taken care of since Bakugou wasn't fully comfortable handling prey without contaminating it.
Fumikage's eyes went over to Bakugou, he was stirring the pot of miso soup, wearing what was apparently his normal cook wear when making food for others.
Thick apron, gloves that went past his elbows, a mask and a bandana on his face.
All to keep himself clean and prevent any of his sweat from getting into the food.
Watching Bakugou cooking with such determined ease was a sight Fumikage shamefully delighted in.
Something about how domestic it was probably spoke to his avian instincts on some level, he knew it was something that affected Sadi and his mother as well.
Sadi only held back from openly swooning given Bakugou would kick the both of them out of the kitchen.
Something Fumikage was deeply grateful for.
Honestly, he had no idea where Sadi got the guts to flirt as casually as they did with Bakugou, and why did they have to keep dragging him into it as well?
"Oi, Patchy get your hollow skull out of the gutter and go and fetch my spice from the pantry." Bakugou spat tossing the key ring in his direction.
Fumikage fumbled catching them, his feathers puffing up with his embarrassment while Sadi laughed Fumikage escaped to the pantry.
*Shut up.* Fumikage hissed through their link.
Fumikage walked towards the hazardous section and unlocked the door to it, and searching the cabinets for the spices drawer inside.
Hopefully, Bakugou would let him have some spice in his dish as well, he couldn't have as much capsaicin as Bakugou but he did enjoy a sprinkle of it in his food.
Fumikage plucked out the bottle with Bakugou's name written on it and returned to the kitchen.
Shoji had returned from going to each of the floors and was patiently waiting for Bakugou to finish up sitting at the large table.
"Hi Jiji, is everyone coming?" Sadi asked coming out of their space, while Fumikage passed the requested bottle to Bakugou.
Shoji nodded.
"Other than Shinsou-San, Kirishima-San and Iida-San everyone will be joining us, likely to get more familiar with the rest of us. Yanagi-San, Komori-San and Jurota-San might duck out early though." Shoji answered.
Bakugou scoffed shaking his head, probably scowling under his mask.
That… would mean that Bakugou would probably have to give his speech before everyone ate, something Bakugou wanted to avoid since he knew it could throw off the appetite of some of their classmates.
Part of Fumikage wanted to suggest putting off telling the rest until another time but he knew better than to say that.
One of the things that he and Sadi loved about Bakugou was how much integrity he had as well as how honest he was about himself and his past.
Even if he ended up being painfully brutal himself in the process.
At least he and Sadi would be allowed to be here for the confession and could help mitigate the damage, even have some help from Awase, Uraraka and Shoji in case things do go worse than he thought.
Which he did expect it to go somewhat unsteadily, even if the rest of their classmates were rather nice Fumikage knew that at the very least most of them would be uncomfortable with Bakugou afterwards.
Most hero students should be rightfully uncomfortable with living or working with a former bully that put his victim in the hospital.
Even if Izuku had forgiven him in all but actually saying so and had fought for Bakugou to be able to take the exam like everyone else, that wouldn't change how people would think of Bakugou once he told them.
He could only hope that the others wouldn't protest Bakugou staying in the hero course.
Shoji placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Everything will be alright." Shoji assured him.
Fumikage exhaled deeply.
"I, I know it will, it's just… " Fumikage's words trailed off as he ducked his head, his sentence finished only in his head *I don't want him to leave.*
Because even if the worse did come to pass, Bakugou's record would be almost spotless and he'd be a shoe-in for any other hero school in Japan.
And Bakugou could even graduate with honors given how much work he's put into himself.
The only reason Fumikage was fretting so much was because then he and Sadi wouldn't be able to see or talk with him every day.
Which wasn't that bad of a deal, they had survive for years without Bakugou and wouldn't be losing full contact with him either, they both could see him or have him visit often.
*But I want him here, with us.* Fumikage whined in his head, like some petulant child.
Bakugou's room was right next to his and Sadi's, and while he'd been overwhelmed by the idea at first, Bakugou suddenly moving out and away from them, maybe even having to go entire prefectures if not to the other side of the island.
It just, just…
*Fumi* Sadi sadly crooned, wrapping their body around his neck once like a scarf, and he gently stoked Fumikage's feathers with their claws.
*I'm fine.* Fumikage told them hastily, looking away and rubbing at his eyes to prevent any tears from even forming.
Sadi used their lack of a caporal body to coo like mother, and Fumikage couldn't even be mad when they didn't believe him, they could feel everything going on his body as well, not to mention his emotions through their link.
A light knock at the larger of the two entrances of the kitchen brought his and Shoji's attention over to the area.
Awase was there and he was holding a decently large box, with a big grin on his face.
"Hey guys, one of my classmates made a bunch of cakes and gave me a couple to share with everyone else." Awase cheerfully told them showing off the box he held.
"That was nice of them, please be sure to thank them for us." Shoji replied.
"Already did Jiji, promised him leftovers too since he made us dessert, you don't mind do ya Cat?" Awase teasingly asked.
Awase did have to dodge a knife being thrown at him for his trouble, though Awase only laughed while Shoji caught the knife before it could sink itself in a wall.
"Now where do you want me to put the dessert?" Awase asked next entirely unfazed by Bakugou in a way that Fumikage could only envy, even if he knew it was only because Awase spent a lot of his time training in the South Side along with Uraraka and Shoji.
He very much wished he could be just as unflappable as the three of them were, or just half as steel willed sometimes.
Mina huffed grinning as she flicked the brand-new light she just finished installing on and off a couple times to make sure she put it on right.
Whooping when it worked exactly as she got it to work this time.
It was the final touch for her brand-new room, pulling all of it together and threw herself onto her bed and nuzzling her fluffy blankets.
She wished she had been able to convince her dad to give her a little more money for her dorm room so she could buy a pink lava lamp along with her new dresser.
A lava lamp could have definitely looked cool in her new room.
Well at least she had a fantastic view from her brand-new balcony.
Mina got up and off her bed and threw open her curtains then pulled open the sliding door to walk out.
It was much cooler out now and Mina shivered a touch, but that didn't deter her from observing everything she could see around her.
Which was a heck of a lot since she did live on the top floor of the dorms.
Top floor perks!~
She would need to save up for some cute furniture to put out here, maybe even get another throw blanket so she could enjoy early morning out here even when it got colder, or star gazing!
She'd probably get a fantastic view of stars on campus since there'd be less light pollution here.
She'd need to ask her mom to dig out her old telescope next time she called her.
Her phone began chirping, breaking Mina out of her thoughts, stepping back into her room she checked it and saw it was the alarm she set for dinner was the one going off.
Shoot! She totally would have forgotten that Bakugou was making dinner if she hadn't set this alarm.
Praising her past self for the fore thought Mina closed her balcony door to keep her room from getting too cold while she was down for dinner, and grabbed her phone and left her room.
Cheerfully humming Juniper's newest song as she walked to the elevator.
"Is that 'Neko-Neko Mya'?" someone shyly asked making Mina stop, turning a seeing it
"Oh, hey Komori, are you a Juniper blossom fan too?" Mina eagerly asked, hoping that she'd have someone else to talk about the rising popstar.
Komori ducked her head pushing her two pointer fingers together.
"W-well I mean I've listened to her… amongst other artists." Komori bashfully confessed.
Mina squealed "Oh my gosh, I haven't met anyone else whose heard of her yet, what's your favorite song from her?" Mina asked bouncing slightly.
"Um, I don't know? Her songs are all pretty good from what I've listened to, maybe the cover song she did early on." Komori answered as they walked.
Mina gasped.
"I love that one too! She would be such a pop-rock singer!" Mina gushed and started humming the song.
"Pink pony club, I'mma keep on dancing at the pink pony club~" Mina sung as she mimicked the dance moves Juniper did.
Komori brighten up as she watched her dance.
"Oh wow, you're really good at that." Komori complimented.
Mina laughed.
"Thanks, I've been practicing her performance during my free time at dance class." Mina told her.
"Oh, you were in dance class too?" Komori asked, coming even more out of her shell.
"Sort of, my mom's a dance instructor and she let me sit in on her classes after school and I learned a lot from her." Mina explained.
"Wait, is your mom Miss Ash? She taught my dance teacher." Komori questioned, surprised.
"Really?" Mina replied before laughing "Wow, what a coincidence, it really is a small world isn't it?" Mina joked.
"Do you think we could dance together sometime? I would love to learn more, Gloria-San said I need to work more on my flexibility." Komori asked.
"Of course! I'd love to show you some new moves, dancing is always better with others." Mina gleefully agreed just as they arrived at the elevator, one of the other girls on their floor already there.
"Hi there Yanagi, you going to join us for dinner too?" Mina guessed walking right up to the silver-haired girl.
Yanagi shied away from her somewhat and hummed in an agreeing tone, keeping her arms held up at angle.
"Cool, cool, how are you doing with your room? I've got mine finished." Mina asked the two girls.
"I'm still putting my clothes away, I spent a lot of time rearranging my things over and over again." Komori answered.
"I'm done." Yanagi quietly answered.
"Awesome, hey have either of you seen Uraraka? I haven't seen her for a couple hours now… " Mina questioned looking around to the two halls for any sign of the girl.
"I think she might already be down, she could have finished early and went down to offer Bakugou help." Komori suggested.
"Yeah, I could see her doing that, she's really helpful." Mina agreed with a nod.
The elevator opening up with a little ding and then the three of them stepped on.
"So, what do you think Bakugou made? Like he didn't strike me as the 'cooking type' of guy you know." Mina inquired from the two of them.
"I'm not sure… I hope there's something without vinegar or too much oil in it." Komori muttered unsure.
Yanagi remained silent as the doors opened on the third floor, Kaminari and Aoyama on the other side of the doors.
"Oh, hey guys, where's Kiri? It's not like him to be late." Mina asked, since she knew that Kiri was living on this floor.
Kaminari's eyes went wide, and he rubbed the back of his head.
"Oh, um… he and Shinsou aren't coming down, things uh, came up." Kaminari nervously answered.
"Hm, really? Maybe I should go and check on-" Mina considered but Kaminari waved his hands.
"Nope! You don't need to do that, he and Shinsou are just going to eat later I'm sure, they just have a few things to handle first." Kaminari quickly assured her as he got on the elevator.
"We really shouldn't be late, Bakugou would probably lose it if we're late." Kaminari added.
"Oui, it would be terrible manners to be late after all of the trouble Bakugou has gone too." Aoyama said, reaching to press the ground floor but stopped seeing it was lit up.
"I guess I can check up on him later and bring him a plate, I do want to catch up with him though, I had no idea he got into U.A. until I saw him on the train this morning." Mina told them.
"Oh, were you and Kirishima in the same middle school?" Komori asked.
"Yep! We weren't in the same class though so we didn't talk as much, but we hung out a couple times." Mina answered nodding her head.
"That's cool you ended up in the same class with someone from your middle school, I think I saw someone from my old class in 1-B." Komori told her.
"Oh, me too. Jiro, the girl with the earlobes used to sit next to me." Kaminari brought up.
Again, the door opened up and there was only one of the boys standing there, which means the elevator wouldn't be that crowded but Mina was more than a little confused why only one of them was there.
"Dude, is it just you coming?" Kaminari asked.
Rin nodded, stepping on with them.
"Jurota-San and Ojiro-San chose to walk down, Shoji-San and the Tokoyamis are already down there I believe." Rin informed them.
"What about Koda?" Komori asked "Is he not coming?" she further inquired.
"He's with Uki, I'm sure they'd come down a little later to join us." Kaminari answered for her.
"Uki?" Mina repeated with a hint of a grin.
Kaminari nodded cheerfully.
"Yeah, Uraraka prefers to be called that I think, since she keeps telling everyone that. Oh, you guys call all call me Denki by the way." Kaminari said.
"Only if you call me Mina." Mina agreed teasingly.
The elevator didn't stop at the first floor and considering the girls could just walk down she wasn't surprised, and they finally got off at the ground floor, and Mina could already hear people talking in the kitchen.
Mina walked forward and smiled when she saw all the rest of the class was there aside from Koda, Kiri, Shinsou, Iida and Uraraka, some of them already sitting down as they talked.
"Oh, hey guys," Tokage said waving to them, then brightening up once Denki walked around the corner.
"Denki come over and sit with us." Tokage quickly invited the boy, and Denki didn't need any prompting to run over to her.
Huh, was she watching the beginning of a new couple Mina pondered as the two seemed to get on pretty well for having just met.
"I think that's everyone Cat, except for Uki and Koda is everything ready?" Someone that wasn't from their class asked, and Mina turned to see one of the guys from their sister class 1-B was there.
"Hi, you're from 1-B right? What are you doing over here?" Mina asked walking up to him.
"Oh, hey Ashido right? Yeah, I'm Awase from 1-B and I'm staying for dinner." Awase explained shaking hands with her.
"Really, and Bakugou didn't mind cooking for another mouth?" Mina joked since Bakugou clearly had a bad temper and everyone with eyes could see that.
Awase huffed amused.
"Nah, Cat and I knew each other since before U.A. through mutual friends and he knew that I'd be over, I'm friends with Jiji and Uki too." Awase explained.
"Jiji?" Mina repeated and Awase jabbed his thumb over at Shoji.
"Yeah, that's what I've always called him, ain't that right Jiji?" Awase said, and Shoji nodded his head.
"Oi, Stop fucking yapping Hat rack and get your ass over here to help me!" Bakugou shouted over at them.
"Yeah, yeah Cat, I'll be right there." Awase said with a chuckle and walked over to the cooking part of the kitchen.
And oh, wow that was a lot of food, Mina couldn't stop her mouth from watering upon seeing all of the dishes laid out on one of the two counters.
"Ooh, all of this looks so good." Mina muttered wandering over to the two islands.
She almost wanted to sneak a little taste of something but both Tokoyamis seemed to be watching just for that.
Bakugou, with the help of Awase, set a pot of soup and tray of very flaky delicious looking tempura.
"Okay extras, got the vegan shit over on the left and raw crap over on the right for carnivores, so get yourself a plate before it all goes cold." Bakugou loudly exclaimed to the rest of the class, motioning to both sides of the island holding all of the dishes.
Looking over to the right Mina felt uncomfortably aware of her own body.
The soft and furry bodies of rats, mice, rabbits laying curled up with closed eyes as if sleeping along side tiny fragile birds and scaled lizards.
Her eyes did not linger on the jar of bugs as it made her skin crawl.
She instead focused on grabbing a plate and filling it up along with a bowl of the soup too.
Mina knew that people ate prey, she just hadn't ever met anyone that did so in public.
And if she was being honest, the idea of biting into a mouse or anything was just, a bit disturbing, especially the idea of how the body would come apart from a person biting into it and revealing everything underneath.
She would probably have to get used to it, at least to keep from flinching or getting outright sick when it came to carnivore-quirked people in the future.
Mina, along with a few others, stacked up their plates and sat down at the large dining table, sharing general compliments on how good the food look and that it all smells great.
"Thank you for cooking all of this for us Bakugou." Hagakure cheerfully told the guy as she passed him on the way to her spot by Yaoyorozu.
"You don't have to fucking thank me for this, I ain't doing this out of the kindness of my heart I wanted most of you idiots down here to talk to about some important shit if we're going to be living together." Bakugou told her, standing at the end of the table.
"Oh, like you wanted all of us down here to go over rules or something?" Tokage guessed.
"You extras can do that, but I plan to inform you fuckers about myself before you get any ideas about me and make sure there's no misconceptions between us." Bakugou corrected crossing his arms.
"Starting with, don't fucking touch me or my shit unless you want to end up in the hospital," Bakugou firmly told them before holding up his hand and after taking off one of the gloves he was wearing made a couple tiny explosions, using his quirk like a firecracker in his palm.
"Because if it ain't abundantly clear already my sweat is an explosive compound which I'm constantly making, and therefore my skin is a bio-hazard that shouldn't be touched. My things are specially made to handle or deal with this, and I'll damn well deck you if any of you idiots mess with my shit." Bakugou elaborated.
Oh, Mina understood that. She had to be careful with which self-care and personal health products she used because of her skin's sensitive biome.
And she didn't want to replace any of those things, since a lot of them were pretty costly.
"Second, I have I.E.D. which means that I get angry over random stupid shit that normally doesn't annoy me, and sometimes I can get violent when stressed." Bakugou said next.
"I'm taking meds for it and can calm down if left alone, but there is a risk I could lost my shit." Bakugou told them.
That was something Mina couldn't relate to, she didn't know what I.E.D. meant but she could try to be understanding about it.
"Third, I've been losing my hearing, so if I question any of you that might be because I didn't fucking hear you the first time, I know and can sign so you can talk with me that way if you want to be sure I heard." Bakugou said next.
Ah, Mina didn't know any JSL so that would be a problem but repeating herself wouldn't.
"And lastly, I'm a former bully who put my main victim in the hospital with broken bones and brain damage." Bakugou coldly informed them.
Causing more than one person to join Mina in staring at Bakugou with their mouths hanging open.
A lot of the previous joy in the room being completely sucked out of the room.
"You did what?" Ojiro, the blonde boy with a tail questioned.
"Exactly what I just said Lemur boy, I fucking hurt someone bad enough they needed to stay in the hospital to recover." Bakugou spat back, with a sneer.
"How did you pass the exam? They run background checks for that kind of thing." Tokage questioned next, now glaring at the boy.
"For one, my first middle school was an absolute shithole with teachers that were negligent at best or all but outright encouraged quirkism at worst. Meaning I could do no wrong in their eyes since I was clearly 'hero' material because of my powerful quirk." Bakugou began to explain.
"And the person I put in the hospital was quirkless, they wouldn't have gained anything if they pressed charges against me, so there was never any marks on my official record." Bakugou told them next.
Mina's stared over at the blonde with disbelief.
"I'm well fucking aware I shouldn't be here with you Princess, and under any other circumstance I wouldn't be, my progress in turning the other cheek be damned." Bakugou said glaring right back at Tokage.
"But for reasons way beyond my comprehension, my former victim advocated for my reckless ass, somehow convincing the Principal to let me take the test." Bakugou further explained.
"Why the heck would anyone do that?" Tokage argued.
Bakugou shook his head.
"Don't ask me, I have no damn clue what crap was going through their head to make them think it was a good idea either," Bakugou grumbled a hand coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose.
"But they did and now that I'm fucking here, like hell I'm going to spit in their face for sticking their neck out for me." Bakugou firmly stated.
"Part of that is holding myself accountable so I don't back track to my old toxic mess, and keep any of you extras from getting wrapped up in my messy history by befriending me without knowing this crap up front." Bakugou informed them.
"The teachers are aware of my past, and I will be monitored closely by them too. If you have any problems with me, you can fucking say it because I'm sure you're right." Bakugou stated then picked up his plate.
"I'm going to eat in my room, I'll be back down later to clean up. If you have any questions about my crap, you can ask tomorrow or bug Sensei about it." Bakugou said walking out of the kitchen.
Mina couldn't help it as her eyes went to the others around her, meet the eyes of many of her uncertain classmates, clearly in shock or uncomfortable with what Bakugou had just dropped on them so suddenly.
Mina was still trying to wrap her head around the whole 'I was a bully thing' much less everything else.
Like sure Mina had been extra famous in her old school for resolving things when it came to bullies, but not the kind that actually got physical with their victims!
What was she supposed to say to something like that? Or how to feel about a bully somehow getting into the hero course and in the same class as her?
First Deku-Sensei actually expelled someone then gave them that super scary talk down in the basement about how often kids like them died and now this?
How did things get so complicated so fast?
Yosetsu wasn't sure why he was disappointed, he really wouldn't have expected Cat to introduce the rest of the class to his past any other way.
Especially considering how he dropped that fucking bomb onto all of them.
Still Yosetsu sighed and facepalmed from his place next to Jiji at the table of shocked and disbelieving 1-A students while Cat left.
"For fucks sake Cat, he still doesn't have any tact does he?" Yosetsu grumbled to Jiji, who merely nodded his head, already eating with one of his spare mouths.
Yosetsu stood up, getting the attention of the few around him.
"Fumi, Sadi go ahead and catch up with Cat, I'll do damage control." Yosetsu told the two anxious looking birds.
The pair clearly torn between trying to smooth things over and following after Cat to ensure he was alright.
"Thank you Awa-Kun." Sadi whispered back to him, the two not needed any more prompting to leave the kitchen.
Turning back to the rest of the class Yosetsu and clapped his hands catching the attention of most of them.
"Alright, so I guess most of you got some questions about how the fuck Cat managed to get into the hero course in spite of what he did." Yosetsu guessed.
"Why would someone like him ever be allowed to take the entrance exam in the first place!?" one of the girls exclaimed, the one with green hair and could split up her body.
"What you've never heard of those crappy reform programs?" Yosetsu asked her and she gave him a look that made him wince.
"Okay bad taste got it, but I can swear that everything Cat told you about the teachers knowing about him being a mini-crap storm in the past and his former victim being the main reason he could apply here is the truth." Yosetsu informed them.
"Why would anyone recommend their bully to the hero course?" the invisible girl question next.
"Well as a mutual friend with both of them, it's a fuck ton more complicated than that, especially since they used to be basically family back when they were in diapers." Yosetsu answered rubbing the back of his neck as he thought back to what all Zuri had told him about it.
"How could you be friends with a bully and their victim?" One of the boys pointedly asked that time, the one with the tail.
"For one, Zuri didn't fucking tell me about Cat being his former bully when he introduced him to Jiji, Uki and me. Mainly because Zuri doesn't think of Cat as that anymore since Cat has gotten much better since he learned to talk about his feelings without his mouth spewing bullshit." Yosetsu flatly answered crossing his arms.
"What, so he cried on shrink's couch and that makes up for putting this Zuri in the hospital? Are you kidding me?" Green-haired girl scoffed.
"Of course, it doesn't, which is why Uki broke his fucking nose once he told us he used to bully Zuri and if it was all he did then I would have never fucking stayed friends with that toxic explosive jackass." Yosetsu spat back, causing a few to recoil somewhat from how venomously he reacted.
"The whole reason I gave that sorry prick another chance was because unlike a metric fuck ton of people out there, he realized just how badly he screwed up and fucking did something about it." Yosetsu sternly informed her.
"And you know what Princess?" Yosetsu asked using the nickname Cat randomly gave her "The world ain't black and white, it's a massive swirling mix of grey bull crap and people are fucking human and make some god-awful mistakes sometimes." Yosetsu told her.
Princess was about to say something back but Yaoyorozu placed a hand on her shoulder and spoke first.
"Awase-San?" Yaoyorozu said somewhat unsure, Yosetsu nodded figuring that she likely hadn't known his name all that well since he didn't formally introduce himself.
"Could you please elaborate on how exactly Bakugou made up with your friend 'Zuri'?" she requested, being surprisingly polite about her request all things considered.
"Gladly." Yosetsu agreed.
"Firstly, Cat and Zuri knew each other since birth and grew up together, so it wasn't like Cat just met him and started being a dick for no reason." Yosetsu explained.
"And they were close back then, the little shits promising to become heroes together when they grew up and fucking everything." Yosetsu detailed for them.
"But then Zuri was discovered to be quirkless, and everything went to shit for the two of them." Yosetsu admitted one of his hands coming up to bury his fingers in what hair he could.
"No Princess it wasn't because Zuri was quirkless, Cat got over that once his parents corrected the bullshit the others were saying about Zuri not being able to become a hero without a quirk." Yosetsu said once Princess opened her mouth.
"The thing that fucked the both of them over was series of miscommunications, starting off with Cat picking fights since Zuri wasn't training with him like they were supposed to, Zuri who was spiraling from being told he was quirkless apparently wouldn't 'train' with him otherwise." Yosetsu explained crossing his arms.
"And naturally since those fights started when they were five, they fucking escalated over the years as Zuri stopped fighting back and got sucked into a depression like rut where he was a shell of his former self, which can be some scary ass shit to watch." Yosetsu confessed.
And it did sound terrifying, the idea of Zuri just shutting down and just emptily smiling at everyone around him despite all the crap they'd do to him, like some of the people he'd seen at the South Side.
Well that was some nightmare inducing crap.
"And none of the adults around them noticed?" Tail boy questioned.
"Well Zuri happened to be a very good liar that was covering for his friend since he didn't want to ruin Cat's future, and with his mom working long hours, plenty of time to clean up the damage." Yosetsu answered.
"Cat's parents thought all of Cat's angsty crap was because of the shitty situation their kids were forced to put up with at school, which Zuri absolutely played into." Yosetsu further explained then crossed his arms.
"As for everyone else," Yosetsu said leadingly, then scoffed.
"They either weren't bothered enough to give a fuck since Zuri was quirkless, or all but outright encouraged Cat and his classmates to abuse Zuri because he didn't have a quirk." Yosetsu spat.
"So yeah, Cat absolutely did a bunch of crap to Zuri, but they weren't in a vacuum and the only people that could do something were a bunch of quirkist fuckheads that didn't have a problem with Cat tormenting Zuri for them." Yosetsu elaborated for them.
"You really expect us to believe that no one had a problem with what Bakugou was doing?" Invisible girl exclaimed.
"Considering the statistics about hate crimes against the quirkless and the legalized discrimination against them, I ain't fucking surprised I'll tell you that. The systematic abuse they face every day is part of why suicide is the main cause of death for the quirkless in our country." Yosetsu spat back at her.
Watching unsurprised when half of them gawked at him when he said that second tidbit.
"What Sweetheart? Didn't know that? That bullshit ain't fucking hidden and most schools will proudly tell you how they won't take the quirkless, not to mention how few people accept quirkless workers on top of them being refused a proper education." Yosetsu sharply said, glaring back at them.
Was he also ignorant of that crap before the festival last year? Yes.
Would he tell any of these fuckers? Hell no, let them suffer for being ignorant little shits.
"Do I think Cat vented his frustration well? Fuck no and I'll personally stab his sweaty ass if he ever starts that crap up again. Was it a crappy situation that could have been resolved if either of them talked with anyone else about what was happening? Hell yeah and I wish they did sooner." Yosetsu told them.
"But Cat was an unmedicated kid with severe anger issues, stuck in a toxic hellhole losing the only person that seemed to understand him because the rest of the world was a shithole." Yosetsu sharply reminded them.
"Doesn't fucking excuse what he did, nothing ever will." Yosetsu admitted.
"But the fucker ain't burying his head in the sand about it either, and been working his ass off to be better since he was removed from their old shithole of a school, and you know what? As far as I'm concerned Cat damn well earned his second chance." Yosetsu firmly stated.
"None of you have to be friends with him, Jiji and Uki ain't going to be friends with Cat again and that's fine, just be fucking civil and if any of you have a damn problem with it, you can take it up with Deku-Sensei or keep it to yourself." Yosetsu sternly informed them.
And in the tense silence that followed, it was of course the perfect time for Uki and the animal kid Koda to walk into the kitchen.
Uki paused blinked, then sighed.
"What did I miss?" Uki asked.
"Cat told them, and I've gave more explanation since Cat was shit at giving details before leaving." Yosetsu answered sitting back down.
"Ah," Uki said nodding her head "Anyone that has a problem can take it up with the teachers or zip it and be civil." She told the rest of the class then went get herself a plate.
Koda seemed to be confused and asked in sign what was going on.
"I'll give you the spark notes version after you finish getting a plate." Uki promised handing Koda a plate.
Koda nodded, slightly uneasy but willing to go along with Uki for now.
"Maybe tell 'em after dinner, be a damn shame to let of Cat's work go to waste." Yosetsu suggested before picking up his chopsticks.
Which seemed to remind everyone that there was food in front of them, and a few of them awkwardly leaving with their plates, or eating the food in front of them.
