2005
"Stay here until you get stronger!" A man yelled at a half-naked eight-year-old Alex. He tried to stand up but was smacked in the face, knocking him down and breaking his lip open.
Tears flooded his eyes as he laid in the white snow now stained with his blood. "Pathetic!" The man yelled; his departing footsteps crunched in the snow.
As he laid there for days the snow fell harder and faster blocking his visibility, a once visible forest was now in white out conditions. "Please… help me." He shivered. His body turning blue as he froze to death.
"I can help you!" A lingered voice cut through his frozen ears. He looked through his blurred eyes as a shadowed figure came closer.
"Help me." He said weakly.
The figure wrapped Alex up in his arms and held him close to his chest, warmth radiated from the being as he walked through the blizzard conditions. Alex shivered as he lost consciousness, he felt certain level of safeness with the being. He didn't know why, and he didn't know who it was. He was happy to be safe.
Before long he was awoken as a sudden knock came from behind him. He was slowly put down, the warmth and safety he felt quickly left. He jumped as the door opened behind. "Alex!" A woman's voice called out. "I'm so glad you are okay!" She picked him up and cried into his neck. "I'm sorry I can't defend you…" She sobbed.
"I'm so C-C-Cold." He shivered.
The woman sniffled. "Your father won't be back for a couple of days." She spoke carrying him up the stairs.
The faucet squeaked as she turned it on. Turning around she helped Alex take off his clothes and place him into the bath. He cried out as the warmth burned his skin. "I know." She cried, placing her lips on his head. "I'm so sorry." She sniffled. "Come on." She leaned him back and started washing his body.
Thirty minutes later she dried him off and put him into warm pajamas. "I'll put you in bed before getting you some food."
She kissed him on the head and slid his covers over him, walking out the door she closed it. Her departing footsteps caused the stairs to crackle and pop.
"Alex." The lingered voice rang out as the shadowed figure appeared in his room.
"It's you again. Where did you go?"
"I had some… unfinished business."
Suddenly the door downstairs opened and slammed shut. "Where is he!"
"Don't do this!" The mom cried as the two walked up the stairs. The door to his room violently swung open as his dad came in. "What did I tell you!" He shouted, grabbing Alex by the arm he dragged him out of bed.
"Stop it!" The mom cried attacking her husband. The husband backhanded her across the face causing her to fall on the ground.
"You want to be a hero?! I'll show you the consequences of being a hero!" He yelled dragging her out of the room and down the stairs as she cried and pleaded for him to stop. "You want to baby our child!" His voice rang up the stairs. A loud crack echoed through the air as the mom screamed out in pain.
Alex, who was rolled into a ball, rocked back and forth as he cried. "What are you doing? Get out there!"
Alex whimpered and shook his head. "I can help you, if you trust me I will give you the power to do anything."
"You want to help… me?"
"As long as you are willing to help me."
Alex nodded in agreement. "Good, now grab that baseball bat and go downstairs."
Alex grabbed a baseball bat that leaned against his wall, making his way down the stairs. His moms pleads became louder and clearer. Making it to the bottom he found his mom lying on the floor helplessly as his dad beat her with his belt.
"S-Stop it!" Alex said. Nothing happened. "Stop it!" He spoke louder.
His dad stopped attacking the mom and looked at him. "What are you going to do?!" He yelled before continuing the attack.
Alex stumbled back and dropped the bat in terror. "Attack him!"
"I can't!"
"Your dad is right; you are a pathetic piece of garbage who doesn't deserve to live!"
"I am not."
"Then prove it, you pathetic loser! You'd watch your mom get beaten by your dad! Kill him!"
Alex screamed and ran toward his dad; his dad stopped his attack and backhanded him in the face knocking him down. "You think your some kind of hero!" His dad yelled. "You're a pathetic waste of space!" He slapped his belt across his face.
With a boost of adrenaline, he grabbed onto the next attack and was launched into the air when his dad tried pulling it back. Clinching onto his dads back he bit into his neck causing his dad to scream out in pain.
"Kill him!" The figure shouted.
The dad grabbed Alex by the hair as he tried getting him off. He slammed his back into the wall trying to get him off, but nothing happened. Alex bit harder and harder until he finally broke the skin, blood oozed out as it leaked into his mouth.
The figure laughed; the more blood Alex drank the stronger the connection. Alex winced in pain as he felt a sharp pain go through his spine. The dad gave this his chance, grabbing Alex by the hair he slammed him on the ground.
Holding his neck as blood gushed out he stumbled back. "You filthy bastard!" He cried out in pain as he fell on one knee.
"Now's your chance!"
Alex jumped to his feet and ran toward him, clinching onto him he bit into his neck and started tearing his skin off like a rabid animal. Blood painted the floors and walls. Soon he found himself standing above his dads mutilated body, blood pooled around his body.
Alex looked at his mom as blood dripped from his face and hands. "She's weak, kill her and put her out of her misery."
He hesitated. "She could've stopped the abuse; she could've done more to protect you. And yet she protected herself until you could get rid of him! Kill her like the rabid animal she is!"
"Alex?" His mom asked as he walked toward her. "Alex!" She screamed; a blood curdling scream followed as it echoed through the empty forest.
Standing in the carnage he looked around. "What have I done?" He asked as the situation became clear.
"You took care of the problem; we can now become one!" He hissed.
Alex ran out of the house. "I'm not being controlled again!" He shouted.
Weeks passed as a starved Alex walked through the forest, bloody footprints made a trail of his frostbitten feet. "You will die without me, let me help you!"
"Y-Y-You've a-a-already done en-enough." He shivered. Tripping he cried out in pain.
"I will help you survive, but you will be in control of yourself."
Alex hesitated; he licked his chapped lips as blood started oozing out of them. "P-Promise?"
"I've never lied to you before."
Alex mustered the remainder of his strength to look at the sky. Looking back on the ground he nodded his head. "Deal." He screamed in pain as a sharp pain went through his body, gagging he threw up a beige colored blob. The storm around them intensified as the wind blew rapidly, snow covered the visibility. Ice climbed up trees before shattering into thousands of pieces. Animals froze solid before exploding into pieces.
A deafening roar flooded the area causing trees to explode, and the remaining animals to die as blood shot out of their bodies.
A gore-stained matted, white furred figure ran through the forest, it craved the taste of human flesh. "Where are you?!" He sniffed the air.
Five miles away from the forest stood a couple on a hill. "Happy Anniversary!" The man held a camera.
"Happy Anniversary!" The couple said in unison before they took a selfie.
"The is so beautiful." The woman giggled. "Thank you for bringing me out here."
"Your welcome." He replied before the two kissed.
"Help me!" A guy cried out. "Somebody help me!"
The couple jumped around to see what was going on. "Hello!" The boyfriend yelled out.
"Help!"
The couple ran down the snowy hillside before stopping at the entrance of the forest. "Where are you?!" The boyfriend shouted.
"Over here, I fell and can't move!"
The couple scanned the area, the snow made it difficult for them to see much. "Where are you?" The boyfriend asked as the couple started walking in the woods.
"Stay close, Jasmine." He turned his head and screamed as half of her head was missing, with blood and brain matter leaking onto the ground below.
Branches all around him snapped causing him to run away as fear overwhelmed him. "Help me!" The man called again.
The man screamed when he tripped on something and twisted his ankle. Turning around he scanned the area. "Help me!" The man called out again.
"Don't leave me, Eric!" Jasmine yelled out.
Eric backed away as he tried to escape. "Please don't leave me!" She cried.
"Jasmine!" He cried out.
"Don't leave her, Eric!" A lingered voice came from above.
Slowly looking up he saw the gore-stained matted, white furred figure with blood dripping from his face and hands. "Wendigo." He cried out.
The man screamed as he jumped on top of him and quickly mutilated his body.
Months later
A black jet hovered above the ground, it's boosters turned, facing the bottom as it slowly landed. The snow was blown across the ground.
As the door opened a large ramp slid out and lowered onto the ground. "Beast, stay with the jet." A white-haired lady spoke wearing a white jumpsuit with a white cape behind her. The cape wrapped around her shoulders as two Giant "X" symbols fastened it to her chest.
"Yes, Storm." The blue haired humanoid man smiled wearing nothing but white shorts. A black belt with an "X" symbol belt buckle held them up.
"Come on Logan." Storm called out as she stepped onto the ground.
"Ima coming." Logan walked out of the jet wearing a white simplified combat suit with black tiger stripes over his shoulders, and a giant "X" Symbol over his heart.
The two walked toward a forested area and stopped when they found blood splattered across the snowy landscape. "Check the area." Storm said.
"Got it." Logan replied.
Storm knelt down to investigate a piece of raw meat on the ground. A small sneeze caused her to look at the bush in front of her. "You don't have to be scared." She said softly. "I'm not here to hurt you." She picked up the raw meat and held it out.
Alex peaked his head out of hiding before stepping out completely. His ribs stuck out as he looked like skin and bone. Crawling on all fours he reached the meat and sniffed it. Looking at Storm and then the meat he snatched it from her hands, backing away he started gulping it down.
"Are you the one we were meant to find?" She asked, reaching to touch him he flinched and backed away.
Rustling behind him caused him to drop the meat and run into Storm, knocking her down he climbed on top of her and wrapped his body around her. "There's hundreds of corpses hanging from the trees. Human, animals, you name it." Logan said.
Logan raised an eyebrow as he stood above Storm. "How's that working out for you?"
"Shut up." She chuckled. "Help me up."
Logan chuckled and pulled her to her feet. "Let's go." She fastened Alex to her and began walking back to the jet.
"Is that who were looking for?" Beast asked.
"It looks it." Storm replied.
"Okay… strap on your seat belts everyone." Beast pressed a button on the side of the door causing the ramp to retract back into place. Closing the door he walked to the cockpit. "The boy should have his own seatbelt."
"You should try to get him off her first." Logan chuckled.
"Logan." Storm sighed.
"Okay then." Beast sat in the cockpit and buckled up. Pressing some buttons and pulling a lever the jet slowly rose from the ground. It's rockets changed positions before they started flying upward, upon reaching the right altitude they leveled off.
"You can take off your seatbelts." Beast spoke through the intercoms.
Storm released her seatbelt as Alex lowered his leg, touching the ground he quickly lifted it again. Seconds later he lowered his leg and gently placed his foot on the ground, placing his other foot down he stood up and smiled at Storm.
She smiled and pointed toward Logan while speaking inaudibly. Alex smiled as he walked toward Logan as he lit a cigar.
Logan, who was still strapped into his seat, looked at him as he stood in front of him. "What's your name kid?" He poked him on the belly causing him to giggle and slap Logan's hand away.
Turbulence rocked the jet causing Alex to lose balance and fall on the ground. Looking up at Logan he giggled.
"Giggles, why don't I call you giggles?"
Alex continued to giggle as he stood up, Logan and Storm looked at each other before chuckling themselves. "Come on." Logan patted the seat next to him.
Alex jumped on the seat and sat down dangling his legs in the air, Logan buckled him up as they hit more turbulence. "Hank!" He shouted.
"There is nothing I can do, Logan!"
Logan growled and tightened his buckle, Alex looked at him before tightening his buckle. "How's that working out for you?" Storm asked.
Logan chuckled. "Don't start with me, Ororo."
Storm laughed at his response.
As everything calmed down the rest of the trip was quiet. Logan played with Alex for a while before they both dozed off to sleep. Arriving at the mansion, the pool opened as the jet flew overhead. As the Jet lowered the pool closed.
The ramp lowered allowing Logan (who was carrying Alex) to walk down, followed by Storm and Beast. As they entered the mansion they were met by a long white hall, and at the end there was a sliding door. Walking through awaited a red-haired lady standing at an examination table. "Got a present for you, Jean." Logan spoke laying Alex on the table.
"Any problems?"
"No." Storm replied. "Fed him some raw meat and he was calm."
"He jumped on her with so much joy." Logan remarked.
"Stop saying that!" She grabbed a bowl and threw it at him startling Alex.
The startled Alex gasped awake, looking around, he saw Jean holding a metal object in her hand and attacked her. She yelped in pain as he jumped off the table and landed in the corner.
The door opened as two men walked in, one was tall with orange hair and wearing red glasses. The other who was bald sat in a wheelchair. "What is all the ruckus?" The guy wearing glasses asked.
"I was about to start the checkup when he got startled and attacked me." Jean said holding her arm as blood leaked through her fingers and spelt on the floor.
"Scott, help her out-if you will be so kind."
"Yes Professor."
Alex breathed heavily as he scanned the unknown room and the unknown individuals. The professor slowly wheeled his way to Alex and stopped in front of him. Alex backed up into the wall before sliding down on the floor.
"It's alright." The professor spoke softly. "We are all mutants like yourself." He placed his hands on his head as he telepathically spoke to Alex.
"Hey! Get out of here Cueball!" Wendigo spoke before cackling.
"Well!"
"Cueball." Alex giggled.
Logan busted out laughing "Why didn't I think of that!" He said, sending everyone else into laughter.
1 year later
2006
"It's time for you to meet the other students." Storm spoke as her and Alex walked down the hall holding hands.
"I don't want too." Alex replied.
Storm sighed and knelt beside him. "We've trained you enough to control yourself, you're not going to harm anyone."
"What if no one will like me?"
"Why? You would be a wonderful person to have as a friend."
Alex lowered his head. "I guess."
"Oh… You're going to do wonderful." She said hugging him. "You'll walk through the cafeteria doors and will meet friends instantly."
Alex walked toward the cafeteria as Logan walked behind Storm. "You ever thought of having a kid of your own one day?" He asked.
"I don't know…" She smiled at Alex as he looked at them. "I think Alex is fine, at least for now."
Alex opened the door and found himself in a cafeteria with thousands of students. The air was loud as they talked and laughed, some even shouting. Food was being thrown around across the cafeteria.
"You're the new kid? Hey! Earth to new kid!" Someone shouted trying to get Alex's attention.
"What? Sorry, my name is Alex."
"Dylan." The blue-haired kid responded. "I was going to get some lunch; you want to come?"
"Sure."
"After we get lunch you can sit with my friends and I." He said as they got in the lunch line.
"Thanks."
After getting their lunch Alex followed Dylan through the crowded cafeteria. "Here we are." He said stopping at a table with three other kids.
"It's the new kid!" A buff kid with dark hair shouted. "Names Blake."
"My name is Alex."
A chubbier kid with blonde hair stuffed a piece of apple pie in his mouth. "Names Nick." He spoke as pieces of pie flew out of his mouth.
"This is my sister." Dylan sat down by a small girl with long pink hair.
"Names Rebecca! I'm the coolest kid at the school."
"Nice to meet you all." Alex smiled as he sat next to Nick.
"What's your ability?" Rebecca asked. "Mine is beauty… I'm just kidding. I can kiss someone, and they die. I call myself "The Widow!"
"I have super strength…" Blake grabbed his orange and squished it with little effort, sending it everywhere.
"Blake!" Rebecca shouted, as some got on her.
"I also have unbreakable skin!" He chuckled. "I call myself "The immortal!"
"I can suck things up and spit them out." Nick said. A suction effect started as he sucked up his apple, he then looked up and spat it out. Speeding through the air it smacked the back wall exploding. "I call myself "The Human Vacuum," after "The Human Torch."
"That's really cool." Alex chuckled.
"I'm super-fast, also the leader. Don't get any ideas of taking over!"
Alex nodded his head quickly in response.
"What's your ability?" Rebecca asked again.
"I have super speed an…"
"Another Speedster." Dylan interrupted. "Awesome, let's get out of here and do something else."
"I think Alex was about to say something else." Rebecca responded.
"Were you?" Dylan asked.
He shook his head out of embarrassment and anxiety. "Let's go!" Dylan laughed running out of the cafeteria.
Late 2010
"Come on kid!" Blake held his fist on a locker over a cowering boy.
"Leave him alone, man." Alex said behind him.
Blake furrowed his eyebrows and turned around. "What did you say?" He asked in his face.
"Leave him alone… what did he do to you?!" He said louder pointing at the kid.
Blake pushed Alex. "You think you can boss us around?" He asked, pushing him again.
"Why do we need to bully people? What makes us better than them?"
"They need to know their place, like you!" He shoved Alex, tripping over a garbage can he fell on the floor. "Come back to us once you've learned common sense!" He growled.
"Yeah!" Rebecca laughed.
"Come on, Dylan is waiting for us in the cafeteria."
"Sorry." Nick said.
"Nick!" Blake shouted, startling him and causing him to run off toward them.
"Th-Thanks for saving me." The kid stuttered.
"Don't mention it." Alex groaned as he stood up. "Go eat some lunch or something."
"Thanks again." He hugged him before running off.
Alex watched as the kid left his view. "Had he not realized I've been like them?" He thought to himself.
Picking up the rest of the trash he walked toward the cafeteria. "Everything's been different around here, ever since we had to go into hiding…" Alex thought as he walked down the hall. "Ever since the Professor died, as well as Jean and Cyclops everything went downhill. Some mutants left and joined the bad guys, the others who stayed got killed. Rouge, Gambit… So many people died before we went into hiding. Storm, Logan, and others try to keep the school running and the mutants safe. How can they do that when so many mutants are switching sides? I wish I could do something."
As he reached the cafeteria he heard the four laughing. Opening the door he saw Blake teasing a little girl who was on the floor as she tried picking up her food. "You want this?" He asked picking up the orange.
She reached to grab it when he squished it. "Too slow." He laughed causing the others to laugh.
She sniffled as she tried grabbing the remaining pieces of her lunch. "Is someone going to cry?" Dylan mocked.
"Leave her alone!" Alex growled standing beside them.
Blake straightened up and walked in his face. "What did I say about you coming back to us!" He said pushing him.
"It's you who needs common sense!" He punched him sending him across the room.
Dylan's eyes grew wide as he looked at Alex. "You lied to us!"
"You never let me finish."
Blake screamed as he ran toward Alex. Running into him, he picked him up and slammed him on a table breaking it. Grabbing him by the shirt he threw him at the wall, crashing through he slammed through the lockers, breaking them. Blake growled as he walked through the broken wall. "You made a big mistake, betraying us!"
"You better not talk about betrayal unless you're willing to talk about the X-men!" He shouted back.
Blake laughed before breathing out heavily. "The X-men are gone, Just like you!" He threw a punch at Alex; Alex dodged the attack and punched him in the gut, causing him to collapse to the floor wheezing. "Get out!" He shouted at the three as they watched through the hole. "Take him with you!" He growled.
The three silently whimpered as they watched Alex in horror. "Get out!" He roared.
The three quickly grabbed Blake and dragged him out. The students clapped as Alex walked back through the hole.
Alex gave a slight smile as he walked through the cheers, kneeling next to the little girl he helped her to another table. "Sorry about those guys."
"Thanks for doing that." She sniffled. "My name is Rachel, and I'm new to the school."
"My name is Alex. What's your abilities?"
"I don't know if I should say." She nervously said.
"You don't have too." He smiled.
1 year later
"How did you enjoy your summer vacation?" Alex asked Rachel as they hiked up a mountain.
"I had a lot of fun; we celebrated my birthday. My parents gave me this cute little teddy bear keychain. My sister gave me this connecting necklace. My piece says be sis. Hers says st ter. It creates a heart when connected that says best sister."
"Ain't that cute." Dylan said behind them.
Alex turned around into a punch by Blake, knocking him down. Rachel gasped and walked back, tripping she fell by the edge of the fifty-foot cliff. "Rachel!" Alex stumbled to get her but was knocked down by Blake.
Logan and Storm heard the commotion. "Hey!" Logan shouted as he ran down the cliff. Storm flew down.
"Company is coming!" Rebecca shouted.
"I told you made a mistake betraying us!" Blake kicked him in the ribs. "Now it's time to pay." He kicked Rachel off the cliff.
"No!" Alex jumped off the cliff after her but was stopped by Nick when he held him in the air by his ability.
"Alex!" Rachel shouted.
Logan jumped off the cliff as he extended his claws, and landed on Nick killing him, dropping Alex in the process. "Get out of here bub!" Logan slid his bloodied claws out of Nicks head.
Blake stumbled backwards and ran off. Rebecca and Dylan followed.
Two loud thuds hit the bottom causing Logan to run down the cliff. "Rachel!" Alex cried; both his legs broke from the fall caused him to crawl toward her. "I'm so sorry!" He reached her bloodied body and placed his head on hers. "Forgive me." He sobbed.
"Is that all you have?" Dylan asked. "This wouldn't have happened if you wouldn't have betrayed us."
Alex turned around and tried attacking him. "Too slow. Like with Rachel!" He laughed before running off.
Storm and Logan landed besides Alex.
A couple weeks later, Alex was sitting in a seat as friends and family gathered for Rachel's funeral. "We will get revenge!" Wendigo spoke.
"Are you Alex?" A lady asked after the services.
Alex looked up and nodded. "Um… were Rachel's parents." The mom covered her mouth as she cried.
"We are really grateful for your friendship to our daughter." Her dads tone shook with sadness. "Every time she would come visit; she would talk about you." He cried.
"When we sent her to the school, she was terrified…" The mom spoke before crying.
"We wanted you to have this." The dad handed him the teddy bear key chain.
Alex's lower lip quivered; he tried so hard not to cry. "I'm sorry I couldn't save her." His voice shook.
"Don't blame yourself." The mom hugged him. The three stood and cried with each other.
Storm and Logan walked up toward them as they finished. "Ready?" Logan asked.
Alex ignored him and walked toward the jet. The flight home he looked out the window, not talking to anyone. As the jet landed and the door opened, he rushed out.
"Should we talk to him?" Storm asked.
"I'll talk to him; you should get to bed."
Alex went into his room and packed his backpack. Putting his laptop, notepads, pencils, and attaching the teddy bear keychain to his bag before heading out.
Logan opened the fridge and grabbed a beer when Alex rushed down the stairs. "I know how you are feeling…" Alex ignored him. "Revenge isn't the answer!" He said louder as he approached the door.
Stopping, Alex turned around to find Logan looking at him from the balcony. "Maybe if they knew who I was they wouldn't have killed her!" He yelled.
"You think that worked out for us, we had a target on our back since day one!" Logan shouted. "You honestly think if you showed them who you where she would still be alive?"
Alex growled and walked up the stairs. "Since you're the all mighty Wolverine, what should I do?"
Logan shook his head. "Do you know how many people died because of me after the X-men did? Do you know how much a bigger target that put on our backs? Actions have their consequences; you want to get revenge? Make sure it doesn't come back to bite you!"
"Go tell your sob story somewhere else." Alex ignored him and walked down the stairs.
"Take that keychain off before you dishonor her memory!"
Storm was getting dressed for bed when her door exploded into pieces as Logan flew through it and slammed into the wall, breaking it. "I shouldn't have said that." He groaned.
A gust of air went through the room as Alex appeared in the front doorway, his broken arm healing. Walking toward Logan he punched him in the face. His arm broke as he hit him, raising it in the air it healed before he landed the next punch.
"Alex, stop!" Storm yelled.
Logan held his hand up stopping her.
The students woke up to the commotion and surrounded the door as the attack continued. They split apart as a man appeared behind them. "Alex stop!" A Russian man said.
"I said stop!" He grabbed his arm, stopping his next attack.
"Get off me!" He growled, turning around he punched a steel-skinned mutant. He cried out in pain as his arm exploded, spraying blood everywhere. Holding his arm he stumbled back as tears filled his eyes.
Glaring at the mutant kids they cowered in fear. "I hate you!" He roared before disappearing.
"Everyone back to your rooms." The man said. "Everything is fine." He guided them away from the door.
"What's going on?" Storm asked.
"Nothing…" Logan groaned as he stood up. "I need to go after him." He walked out of the room.
Entering his room he quickly changed and walked out. "Colossus, you're in charge."
"Got it."
Walking into the garage he grabbed a pair of keys off a hook and headed for a motorcycle. He was about to get on when Storm interrupted. "What are you going to do once you find him?"
"I was thinking about taking him to a friend in Manhattan."
"Are you coming back?" She asked, her voice broke.
"I don't know how long I will be." He walked toward her. "I'll need these back." He handed her his nametags.
She gave a slight smile with tears in her eyes.
Leaning forward the two kissed passionately before pushing apart. Logan got on his bike and drove off.
Months later
Logan followed Alex's scent to different areas, each area was always torn to shreds with zero survivors. He arrived to the junkyard and started sniffing the air. "Just happened recently." He spoke. Sniffing the air again he caught Alex's scent again.
Following it, led him to a cave on the outskirts of Manhattan. Getting off his bike he looked around. "Nobody." He entered the cave and walked further in. He found a small area with a rundown table that looked like it was found in a junkyard. A map was pinned to a board with several red dots. Looking closer, they were the locations of the destroyed areas.
He extracted his claws and turned around when he heard a faint groan. He found Alex lying in the ground with bloodied bandages on half of his torso. "Alex?!" Logan slid his claws back in and helped him.
Alex gasped in pain as he awoke, placing his hand on his wound he breathed out heavily. "Sleep well?" Logan asked, startled he sat up and groaned in pain holding his side.
"Broken ribs don't feel good, do they? How about third-degree burns?"
"I know what you're going to say?"
"I don't think you do!" He yelled.
"I don't need to hear this." He scoffed.
"Yes you do…" He punched him in the face, knocking his head against the wall he grabbed him by the neck and extended his claws toward his face. "And you will!" He growled.
Alex gulped in response. "The X-men went into hiding after Jean killed most of us. The Professor, Summers, and a whole lot more! We went into hiding because mutants were leaving and joining groups, and in these groups they killed other mutants who wouldn't join. You did the exact same thing!" He growled.
"I'm not finished yelling!" He interrupted before Alex could speak. "You betrayed us! Ororo and I tried to stop you from sneaking out and you would still sneak out. We would punish you, and you would act up more. You wouldn't listen to anyone! You have to pay the consequences for your actions! You thought you could "have fun" with Dylan and the others and then get out whenever you wanted too?! You knew the type of people they were when you met them, and yet you chose to join them! When things became more and more illegal, you chose to stay! Stop this nonsense killing for revenge, Dylan and the others may have physically killed Rachel, but you helped make it happen!"
He punched the wall near Alex's head before walking away. Alex yelped as he fell on the table. Logan walked out of the cave.
A couple days later Alex walked out of the cave, shielding the sun from his eyes with his hand. Logan sat on a rock smoking a cigar as he cooked a couple of rabbits over a fire. "I'm sorry…" Alex spoke behind him. "I'm not excusing my actions. I was excited to have friends, I never had anyone who wanted to be friends with me. I didn't want to lose that, and I'm sorry." He stayed quiet for a couple of moments before turning around to walk in the cave.
Logan sighed and took his cigar out of his mouth, blowing the smoke out he responded. "Get ready… I want you to meet someone."
48 hours later
The garage to the mansion opened as Logan approached. Parking his motorcycle, putting the keys back on the hook, and entered the mansion.
Groaning he grabbed a beer from the fridge and made his way to his room. Placing his beer on his dresser he placed his wallet and phone on it as well before taking off his clothes leaving him only in his black boxers.
He sat on the edge of his bed before lying down. He wiped his face in exhaustion but sat up when he heard his door open.
Logan smiled as Storm stepped into the room. She said nothing, just moved to him, and they held each other, the quiet moment between them enough.
