Chapter 17: Almost Finals

The day after Fumikage found out about One for All, Toshinori had to take the day off. Not because of anything to do with that but because of a press conference that was an update about Endeavor's arrest, which included introducing the world to Touya the thought dead Todoroki.

Shoto had asked if he could stay the night with Izuku that night. When Tenya headed what was going on he asked if he could as well, even if it was a school night. Though to be fair Tensei told their parents that it was really bad and Shoto needed some emotional support .

As they were watching the press conference Shoto told them.

"He tried to kill me as a baby." He explained .

"What?" asked Izuku.

"He was jealous of me and tried to kill me as a baby." Said Shoto.

"Oh Shoto…' whispered Inko.

Shoto also started to live with his sister for the time being. He also gave the entire class permission to use his first name, which everyone understood why without question.

The day afterward was also finally the meeting to take Fumikage and Dark Shadow fully informed about everything.

"I see…" said Fumikage.

Being told about why Izuku couldn't know about his quirk at the moment.

"Yes…" said Toshinori.

"Okay… I have a question." Said Dark Shadow changing the subject, "Was everyone told about his other quirk in that weird way?"

"No…" said Ochaco.

"The three of us were." Said Toru pointing to Tsuyu and Tenya "But everyone got told a normal way."

"I see." Said Fumikage.

Over the course of the next few weeks it was mostly quiet with classes and stuff.

Though during lunch Shoto would drop bombshells about his family drama partially about Touya.

"How are things going with you Shoto?" asked Izuku one day.

"I found Touya murdered several people…" said Shoto.

"What?" asked Izuku.

"Since he's helping take down Endeavor though he was put into a special reform program, he had to undergo therapy and at some point undergo a dangerous possibly suicidal mission." Said Shoto.

An awkward silence filled the table.

However there was one bad day in particular when Izuku and Katsuki were called to talk to Tsukauchi, Toshinori's detective friend that knew about One for Al as well as being put on the League of Villains case, about the Nomu that attacked Izuku.

"We believe we have found the reason why the Nomu attacked you in Hosu." Said Tsukauchi.

"Really? Why?" asked Izuku.

"And why the fuck am I here?" asked Katsuki.

"Because we found you have ties to the person as well." Said Tsukauchi.

He placed a picture on the table, it showed as fat boy and both Izuku and Katsuki looked at the picture and recognized the kid as someone they grew up with. He until he disappeared one of Katsuki's lackies and helped bully Izuku as a kid.

However Izuku froze as he realized something.

"You see these Nomu are created using the bodies of victims… there are many sources of DNA however… there is a main source…" sighed Tsukauchi.

"It's Tsubasa… I recognized his wings…" said Izuku who started to cry.

Katsuki's eyes widened.

"He recognized me… that's why he attacked me…" said Izuku.

Tsukauchi nodded sadly.

"Even if they don't have most of their faculties we believe due to your connection he recognized you on level." Said Tsukauchi.

Katsuki's eyes widened in horror as he remembered the Nomu tearing apart Izuku to shred on television.

"It's my fault." Said Katsuki.

"what?" asked Izuku

"It's my fault…" said Katsuki, "If I wasn't the fucking ringleader…"

"Don't blame yourself." Said Izuku.

Katsuki was about to say something.

"No really… he probably would have bullied me either way." Said Izuku, "I remember that his grandpa was a huge jerk."

Katsuki snorted.

"Yeah and what did he do?" asked Katsuki.

"He was the quirk doctor that told me I was Quirkless…" said Izuku.

He then looked at Tsukauchi.

"I mean… I was thought to be Quirkless and…" said Izuku.

"All Might's really good friend." Said Tsukauchi laughing.

"Oh you're that detective." Said Izuku quietly.

Tsukauchi nodded.

"It's nice to fine to meet you." Izuku

However Katsuki couldn't stop thinking about what was just said.

Grandfather was a quirk doctor…. And not just any but the one that told Izuku that he was Quirkless…

The one that lied about the fact that a "toe joint" was the indicator of a quirk.

This was bad.

After helping Izuku thorough the revelation. Katsuki went to talk to Toshinori.

"That doctor that lied about Deku!" yelled Katsuki.

"I know." Said Toshinori.

"He has something to do with the fucking Nomu things": muttered Katsuki.

"I know.." sighed Toshinori.

Katsuki stopped talking.

"We still don't have all the details." Sighed Toshinori.

"What?" asked Katsuki

"We do know that he lied and we do know that he is missing, but we are still missing a lot of pieces." said Toshinori.

Katsuki gritted his teeth knowing that Toshinori was right, they knew nothing... beyond that the doctor had to have some sort of tie to Nomu, they just weren't sure what it was yet…

Afterwards, thankfully Izuku and Katsuki were able to have a sparring match, thorough Aizawa did have to watch it to make sure Izuku didn't die again. Katsuki ended up winning the spark with making Izuku promise to make the spars a regular thing as he got stronger

Eventually it was time for a certain announcement.

"All right, summer vacation is coming soon, and I have announcement to make." Said Aizawa, "For a week, you will be attending a summer training camp."

The class immediately got excited at the prospect of a summer camp .

Aizawa used his quirk and got everyone to calm down.

"However there is a condition. AS you know finals are coming up, if you fail your finals you will have to attend remedial classes instead." Said Aizawa.

Those who's grade were on the lower ended were freaking out of course.

Throughout the next couple of weeks many students studies like crazy including Yaoyorozu hosting a study party at her house.

Though one day at lunch Izuku was nervous

"Seriously Deku, what you got to be nervous about." Muttered Katsuki

"Well I don't what the practical exam will be" said Izuku, "It can be anything."

"It should be fine." Said Tsuyu.

"You out of anyone in class work so hard, you're going to pass for sure!" said Toru.

Izuku was blushing hard from this

"What you of all people are worried about this exam?" asked a rather snide voice.

It was Monoma,

"What the fuck do you want?" asked Katsuki.

"I just heard one of the four golden boys from Hosu is worried about the exam." Said Monoma.

Izuku shrunk in on himself. Tenya, Shoto, Fumikage were also eating with them

Izuku did tell him he found out why the Nomu was after him but didn't say why.

They respected his choice not to tells them. After all he was very distressed after getting the news, they didn't want to pry what he learned and if he was ever up to telling them.

"Leave them alone." Mutter Ochaco..

"So you're telling me you're not jealous they got attention in Hosu?" asked Monoma.

"We didn't ask to part of an attack." Said Shoto

"You think that matters?" asked Monoma, "I bet…"

That was when he fell to the floor and they looked up and saw a red hair put into a side ponytail.

"Hey Kendo" said Izuku

She was Itsuka Kendo, the class representative of Class 1-B, which was why Izuku knew her.

"Sorry about him, he's been really jealous after Hosu." Said Kendo rolling her eyes

"It's fine." Said Izuku

"Don't lie." Said everyone else at the table.

Izuku winced at that. Even with his ever growing friend group, they all knew to read him like a book

"By the way don't worry about the exam.." said Kendo, "An upperclassman I'm friends with told me not to worry since it's the robots from the exam."

"Really, that's a relief." Said Ochaco.

"How could you give away an advance…" said a barely conscious Monoma.

Kendo just knocked him out again.

Once the 2 members of Class 1—B were gone. Izuku couldn't help but to think that it was too easy.

Though it was clear with new f the robots the conversating steered in another direction.

"I found out last night Touya was planning to kill me alongside my father." Said Shoto.

"Shoto!" cried Izuku.

"God damn it Icy Hot!" yelled Katsuki.

"We not the ones to discuss your darkness with,…" sighed Fumikage

"He's right you have to talk with Hound Dog about this" said Tsuyu.

Still Izuku was right about the exam as the teachers had plans…. Due to the near attack on the USJ and the attack on Hosu they changed up exam.

It was now going to be two students against 1 teacher.

"Midoriya and Yaoyorozu will face off against me." Said Aizawa.

"Really, shouldn't All Might be the better one to fight Midoriya?" asked Thirteen.

"I believe I would be a better test." Said Aizawa, "Plus going up against myself it will help him confront his history about being believed to be Quirkless."

Those that knew could heard the real underlying reason for him going on up against Izuku and not All Might "All Might's going to accidently kill him for sure knowing his luck".

He went though the other exams… with the last one being "Todoroki and Bakugo will be against All Might."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" asked Toshinori.

"Both of them are the strongest students." Said Aizawa.

"That's not what I mean… Young Shoto was born to one day beat me as a hero." Said All Might, "This isn't something he can easily get over."

Aizawa sighed, "Unfortunately with all of the public being aware about the abuse, there will be villain who will take advance of his trauma in some way…." Said Aizawa.

Toshinori sighed knowing that Aizawa had a point.

None of the other match up thankfully had any objections.

And soon enough it was the day of the practical exam.

Mina and Kaminari who were the two of the bottom students were excited for the exam as it would be a cakewalk for them.

Both of their quirks did well against the robots after all.

However none of the students questioned why bunch of the teachers were there….

"I'm sorry if you had heard about the robots." Said Nezu popping out of Aizawa's scarf.

Everyone jumped at this in shocked.

"But this year is a little different" said Nezu.

"What! How!" yelled Kaminari.

Of course he told them about them fighting the teachers. Which devastated Mina and Kaminari.

They began to give out the pairings, which were of course the Yaoyorozu and Izuku paring and the Katsuki and Shoto paring.

But there were still 8 more teams.

Tsuyu and Fumikage were paired up against Ectoplasm.

Ochaco was paired with Aoyama against Thirteen

Toru was paired with Shoji against Snipe

Tenya was paired with Ojiro against Power Loader.

There was also Mina and Kaminari against Nezu, Kirishima and Sato again Cementoss, Mineta and Sero against Midnight and Jiro and Koda against Present Mic

Though the during the announcement All Might showed up last jumping down from the sky to basically scare Katsuki and Shoto.

None of them knew if they would be able to pass but they all hoped that they would.

Next Time: It's time for the exams, Yaoyorozu has an idea but she's unsure if it will be a good idea while Katsuki realizes his own idea that Shoto is unsure about. What will happen? Find out next time!
