However, I will not be stopping till after Chapter 20. I have so many ideas though for this universe in the future. I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Now…I give you Chapter 7.

Chapter 7: Death in the Family

Stillwater

Jayce sat against the wall, beaten and stripped of his suit. His entire body was aching from the events that transpired. On his side, was a wound from a blade. It was slowly dripping blood.

He winced as he gently cleaned the wound and patched it up.

Where did it go wrong?

Hours earlier...

Heimerdinger was working on a Hextech device that Jayce and Powder brought back. Earlier that day, the duo snuck into a production factory to steal it. It ended with the two running like hell to avoid the Enforcers.

They were able to get it back to the Sanctuary, where Vi scolded Jayce while Caitlyn made sure he had no injuries. He removed his cowl as the professor started to look over the tech they retrieved.

Ekko chuckled. "I see you two made it back." He leaned against a rail.

Powder groaned. "It wasn't easy. Pilty's chased us all over, but we lost them before we even got to the bridge." She climbed on top of a rock beside them.

"Thankfully there is a secret passage that they don't know about." Jayce said as he sat his cowl on a table.

"That's still there?" Vi raised an eyebrow. "I thought for sure it would have collapsed in."

Jayce shrugged. "Guess not."

Caitlyn looked up. "As long as they don't find out about us all working together, we should be in the clear. Marcus isn't the brightest officer in the district."

Jayce chuckled as he crossed his arms. "Clearly. He went down like a sack of potatoes when I punched him. And he is supposed to be the best? Please."

At that moment, Heimerdinger came out. The gang turned their attention to him.

"I believe I have cracked the code on Viktor's device." He smiled.

They stood around as the furry little man explained what it was. "What you have brought me is armor for a new generation of automatons. I remember a few years back, Viktor came up with the idea of replacing the Enforcers with cybernetic soldiers. Drones, he would call them. Alas I doubted he would actually do it." He explained.

"Well, it seems he has started." Jayce said as he rubbed his chin.

Caitlyn was confused. "I don't understand. Why would he want to replace the Enforcers?"

"It's obvious, Cupcake. People like you. Like us. People who can actually think for themselves and make their own decisions." Vi answered. "With those drones, he has control and the numbers to enforce it."

"But that's madness!!" Caitlyn shouted. "To replace those who give their lives to protect...with machines that can not feel any emotion."

"It's reality, babe. Whether we like it or not." Vi sighed.

Jinx looked at the armor piece. "That's why he needed the Shimmer and the Chemtech…he needed to power them. To give them some kind of boost."

"That is correct. Originally, the armor was intended for super human soldiers but…the prototype was a failure, thanks to Jayce. After that, I assume Viktor got straight to work on these machines." Heimerdinger said.

Ekko was in shock. "If he were to unleash them…no one could stop them. He would have complete control."

"I think that's the point, Ekko." Jayce pointed out.

Vi took a deep breath. "We need to find a way to stop him. If he succeeds…we're all D-O-N-E, fucked."

"I can do some recon." Caitlyn suggested. "I have a shift duty tonight watching over the peace talks with Piltover and Noxus. Maybe I can learn something and report back."

Jayce nodded. "That's a great idea. I'll join you as backup."

"Jayce, sweetie, I appreciate your concern but…it would be less suspicious if it's just me." Caitlyn gently patted his cheek.

"I suppose you're right...but at the first sign of trouble, you leave. Come straight back here." He touched her hand.

Caitlyn smiled. "Of course, my love." She kissed him and walked out, Jayce watched from behind.

The man sighed. Vi walked over and touched his shoulder. "She'll be okay, babe. Our girl is strong."

"That's what I'm afraid of. She won't back down if it gets too hot." Jayce said to his red haired lover.

Later that evening…

Caitlyn entered the Tower with other Enforcers as tonight was a very important night.

Ambessa, Governor of Noxus, has requested the audience of Head Councilman Viktor. As the row nations would be going into business together regarding Hextech and armed forces.

Recently though, Ambessa was very upset concerning a recent shipment.

Joining the Councilman was Mel. She dreaded every moment she had to spend around her mother. And this wasn't making it any better.

Viktor sat across from Ambessa. "Governor, I am quite surprised you requested my presence. You could have just asked your daughter." He poured a cup of tea.

Ambessa chuckled. "Well, I like to meet with my business partners in person. Especially when they tried to trick me." Her smile disappeared, replaced by anger.

"Tricked? I have no idea what you are talking about." He sipped his tea.

Ambessa stood up. "You know damn well what I mean. You scammed us on the latest shipment." She sneered.

Viktor smirked. "Oh, that. You were getting too greedy. Had to put you in your place." He continued to sip.

Ambessa growled and went to grab Viktor by his collar. "I'm going to tear you apart."

Caitlyn and the other Enforcers were about to step in, but Viktor held his hand up to stop them. "You could, but you will not get far at all." He snapped his fingers and in the doorway were two glowing red lights that looked like eyes.

Ambessa turned as three automatons entered the room. They were silver, tall and thin. Their eyes were red and very broad. (Think of Ultrons drones.)

The woman stepped back. "What is this?"

Viktor smirked. "This…is the future. The Machine God requires all to bend the knee to him. And if you do not…" Viktor's eyes flashed red. "You will be terminated." He stood in front of the drones.

Ambessa stayed back. "This was your plan all along…you used us for your plan. You took soldiers as…test subjects to thin out our numbers. You never needed them, did you?"

Viktor said. "They did come into use. For my army to learn. And now…they know how to deal with humanity. I will flatten Runeterra first...then I will set my sights upon the universe. So try to stay alive and see his way…as the age of Ultron...begins."

The Enforcers looked at each other in confusion and horror. Caitlyn felt chills go down her spine.

Ambessa was ushered out by her guards, but not before vowing to stop Viktor.

Mel went up to Viktor. "But this goes against everything you stand for. You created Hextech to help people, not to destroy!!!"

"That is where you are wrong, Medarda. This was always my plan. To develop the technology needed for my master to return, to lure everyone into a false sense of security and prosperity. And now…that time has come to an end." Viktor motioned to his drones, who swiftly dispatched the Enforcers, except for Caitlyn.

Viktor walked up to her. "I have a message for you to give Jayce. Tell him to come to the Tower…or his mother will die."

Caitlyn nodded quickly, her heart was beating fast. She left and hurriedly ran to the Sanctuary.

Jayce was playing with the children as Vi watched, a smile on her face.

The Enforcer quickly ran over. "Jayce, we need to talk!!" She was almost out of breath.

"Easy, Caitlyn. Deep breath." He took her to sit down with Vi. "Now what's wrong?".

Caitlyn took a deep breath and told them everything. Everything that Viktor said and did. And what his plans were.

Jayce was shocked. "He has already started his plan..."

Caitlyn nodded. "There was one more thing…he wants you to meet him...and if you don't, he's going to kill your mother."

Jayce froze. "Why? She has nothing to do with this…"

"He's trying to get inside your head, Jayce. He wants you to act out of your emotions." Vi said, walking over to him.

"Even so…I can't let him hurt her. I'm suiting up and heading out…" Jayce went to put his suit on.

Both girls looked at each other, worried looks on their faces.

Meanwhile…

Ekko and Powder made their way to the Last Drop. Silco's Headquarters.

Ekko looked at Powder. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

The blue haired girl nodded. "He manipulated me all my life…turned me against my sister…groomed me to be his slave."

Ekko nodded. "No matter what happens…" He held her hand. "I'm here for you."

Powder nodded and smiled.

The duo entered the bar. It was very seedy. The band, Daydreaming Serpents, were playing the hit song "Enemy." Ekko looked around and saw Sevika at her booth, playing poker as usual with a pretty girl on her lap. Jackpot. Perfect distraction.

He sat down at the table, ordering a drink to distract the guards as Powder snuck upstairs to the office.

Sevika looked up, scoffing. "You have some set of stones to be at MY table, kid." She had the prostitute light a cigarette.

"What can I say? I enjoy the challenge." Ekko said as he took a swig of his drink.

The large woman smirked as she gave out the cards. "Alright…let's see if you can keep up."

Ekko took a deep breath as he started to play.

Upstairs…

Silco sat at his desk. Things were not going well. His Shimmer production has started to go down as the Firelights attacked more of his factories. And it wasn't helping that Viktor never held up his end of the deal. No Hextech was coming in.

He looked over some plans. "I know you're here, child. Come out."

Powder dropped from the rafters. "You were always good at that."

"And you used to be good at your job. Before you betrayed me." He poured a drink.

"Then you know why I'm here." She pulled out her revolver.

"Now that isn't very nice. Is that any way to thank the man who took care of you? The man who saved you from the streets?" Silco told her.

"Saved me? You used me since the day you found me!! I always did YOUR dirty work when you needed to stay anonymous. You used me, manipulated me!!! Even told me my sister was dead when really…you had her locked away." She aimed her revolver at him. "And you killed Vander…my real father…" She teared up.

"No, Jinx. YOU killed him. Your childish tendencies caused him to be blown up. To inject himself with Shimmer, turning him into a monster. It was your fault, not mine." He set his drink down as he stood up.

"You kidnapped him. Tort-" She was cutoff.

"He made us weak. When the Topside was crushing us beneath their boots, he wanted us to cower. He needed to be gone. And I took his place. Piltover fears us, as they should." Silco flaunted.

"That's the problem. They FEAR us when we should be working together to make the world better. And luckily, there is someone trying for us." Powder sneered. "And it won't be you."

Silco chuckled. "You mean Talis? Please. He is just like the rest. And can easily be corrupted. It's only-"

BOOM

Powder fired her gun, the bullet hitting Silco in the head. His body fell into the chair, dead.

Her eyes widened. "Oh no…damn, damn, DAMN!!"

What did she just do? She killed the most powerful man in Zaun. She looked around and hid in the rafters, crawling out as someone entered.

Sevika's Table

The woman growled in annoyance as Ekko won another game.

The boy chuckled. "That's another for me." He gathered his winnings.

"You cheated." Sevika gritted her teeth.

Ekko scoffed. "Don't be a sore loser-"

He should not have said that as Sevika stood up and grabbed him by the neck. "I'm gonna rip your tongue out."

Ekko choked and tried to get free.

The guard entered the room. "Sevika, Silco is dead!! Point blank to the head."

The large woman turned to Ekko. "It was you, wasn't it?" She increased her grip, but then a shot hit her hand.

She dropped the boy and turned to see Powder standing there.

"Let him go, you bitch." The blue haired girl growled as Ekko stood with her.

Sevika sneered. "I always hated you." She whistled and eight other hoodlums joined her.

"Kill them." She pointed to Powder and Ekko.

The guards charged, but were stopped as the skylight shattered.

Jayce glided in, wearing his suit. "Not tonight." He got into a fighting pose and began to fight with Ekko and Powder.

The trio took down the guards and turned their attention to Sevika.

Ekko spoke. "It doesn't have to be like this, Sevika. You can still join us. To help Zaun."

"I'll never join you street rats." She growled and went to attack, only for Jayce to deliver a hard kick to her face. The large woman dropped.

Ekko and Powder sighed in relief. "Thanks, Jayce. You came just in time."

Jayce nodded. "Yeah…" He turned to them. "I need your help."

The two listened.

A while later….

Viktor stood on the balcony as he waited. Jayce had arrived. "Where is my mother?" The vigilante growled.

Viktor smirked. "Took you long enough." He turned to Jayce.

The man went to grab Viktor, but the scientist held up his hand. "If you touch me, I will have your mother killed." He pointed.

Jayce looked as a drone appeared, hand around his moms neck.

"Mom?" Jayce said shocked.

"Jayce, don't worry about me. Stop him!!" Ximena shouted.

"That is your problem, Talis. You value emotion too much. Whether it be your mother, your lovers, or your new society. I never had to worry about such things." He circled Jayce. "You know…if this were another universe, I like to think we could have been friends. Partners even. You are quite brilliant as your research is responsible for my work."

"You mean the research YOU stole from me." Jayce growled as he removed his cowl.

"Same difference." Viktor chuckled.

Jayce took a deep breath. "What do you want from me?"

"Isn't it obvious? I want you dead or gone." Viktor snapped his fingers.

At that moment, Marcus came in with two others.

"I will give you a choice. You can either go peacefully or they will shoot you and your mother." Viktor told him.

Marcus raised his eyebrows. "You're actually going to let him live?"

"That's up to him." Viktor turned away.

Marcus growled. "Fuck this." He aimed and shot Jayce's mother.

The drone let go of the injured woman.

Jayce's eyes widened. "Mom!!"

"An eye for an eye." The Enforcer Sheriff said.

Jayce growled and charged towards Marcus. The two other officers tried to hold him back, but Jayce beat them down. He grabbed Marcus and began to beat him down.

Marcus was drowning in blood until he pulled a knife out and stabbed Jayce in the side.

The vigilante groaned as he let go and Marcus ran away.

Viktor watched and motioned to the drone who grabbed Jayce and knocked him out.

After a while, Jayce was dragged to Stillwater. He was stripped of his suit and thrown into a cell.

"Oh we're gonna have fun with you. I'm going to make you suffer for breaking my nose." The guard slammed the cell shut.

Present Day

Jayce sat against the wall, beaten and stripped of his suit. His entire body was aching from the events that transpired. On his side, was a wound from a blade. It was slowly dripping blood.

He winced as he gently cleaned the wound and patched it up.

It was all now hitting him. His mom was shot and he didn't even know if she was alive. And to make matters worse…the land is in danger.

What was he going to do?

There were footsteps approaching the cell.

Jayce growled. "Fuck off…" He told what he thought were guards.

"Now is that any way to talk to us, Pretty Boy?". A familiar female voice said.

He looked up.

It was Vi and Caitlyn…
