Chapter 86

Familial Discoveries

Disclaimer: I had something else in mind for this chapter but honestly, I wanted to do this instead. Though what I had in mind originally will be mentioned here.

Xavier Institute

Two lone cars could be seen making their way to the Xavier Institute that was still located in the remote location Jean had felt was the best place for the school. And given how Bayville was now nothing more than a declared disaster zone after it mysteriously ended up being turned into a crater over 2 years ago, everyone agreed that choice was still absolutely for the best. The loss of Bayville and it being restricted access to all had greatly bothered Xavier and was still trying to remove the restrictions while still helping promote peaceful co-existence. One of the students of the Institute quickly took notice of the two cars and frowned. As Pavel Rasputin, son of Kayla and Piotr 'Colossus' Rasputin, was unsure if they were supposed to be there given the current tense atmosphere of the school after Sinew had betrayed them all several days before after the Neo had shown up and declared his allegiance to the secretive Mutant group. Along with nearly killing Rina as well after throwing her into a wall. Pavel's skin went from light purple to metal while some students ran inside to let the staff know of the arrivals. "If you've come looking for trouble, you will regret it." Warned the young man once the vehicles stopped and one of the occupants began to get out.

"Its a good thing I'm not looking for trouble." The first occupant, a Japanese woman told him.

"Neither are we." Announced a Blonde woman from the other car as she got out of it.

"Yeah, Mom here finally wants us to meet our dad." Declared a dirty Blonde long haired boy as he got out of the car as well.

"Adam…" Sighed a Blonde girl as she got out of the other side of the car.

Pavel found himself curious as he cautiously reverted back to his normal form. "Ooh, Purple." Muttered another of the visitors, but this young Japanese girl had a patch covering one eye.

"And you think your father is here?"

"Considering Scott teaches here, I'm certain of it." Announced the Blonde woman.

Making for the Japanese woman to be rather surprised by that. "You know Scott!?"

"Yeah, met him years ago after he'd left the X-Men for awhile."

"Oh, funnily enough I did too. Taryn."

"Lee."

The girl with Taryn came around the car to the other two teens as Pavel watched on. "Then we must share the same father it seems..."

Pavel's eyes widened as Lee's kids looked at one another before looking to the other girl. "I guess so? I'm Megan and this is my brother, Adam. We're twins."

"Natsu." Replied the other girl with a light bow while Adam made the remark that he was the sexier of the two.

Megan rolled her eyes but was prevented from saying anything when several adults arrived. "T-Taryn!? Is that you!?" Asked Jean in shocked surprise.

As she never in a million years would've expected this! "Visitors! Oh how I love unexpected company!" Harvey said happily.

"Yeah, Jean, its me. Been a long time." Replied Taryn with a small smile on her lips as she took in the other woman.

No longer resentful towards the woman thanks to growth and the fact she'd finally gotten Scott to herself on that boat of his all those years ago. "It… It sure has."

This has the potential to get ugly. Thought Pavel to himself worriedly.

"Why didn't any of you call ahead? We aren't that hard to reach." Asked Rina suspiciously.

The visitors looked at one another before looking back to her. "I know I did several days ago." Lee told her and Taryn said the same thing.

"Oh dear… That would be when that business with Sinew happened…" Murmured Harvey.

Causing Jean, Rina, and a silent Iceman to scowl. "I knew I was forgetting something!" Proclaimed the Ice Maker with a snap of the fingers seconds later.

Sighs came from Jean and Rina but neither decided to push things further. "What umm… What brings you all here? Looking to enroll?" Jean asked of the visiting group.

"That depends if you'll let us after you hear why we're here, Red!" Adam told her somewhat dramatically.

Something he tended to do as a DJ on his X-Treme show. "Is Scott here, Jean?" Taryn asked, wanting to get this over with.

"He's doing a Mechanics class at the moment but I can get him for you?"

"Please, as we need to speak with him." Lee told her somewhat urgently.

Nodding while growing even more curious, Jean mentally contacted her husband that he was needed while Bobby asked if Natsu needed medical attention and along with the others, would be surprised when Megan began to float with a pink glow about her. "Oh! Not again!" Bemoaned the girl.

"Just recently came into your powers, huh? I'm guessing the same of you two as well?" Bobby asked curiously.

"That's correct, Sensei Drake. But I think I would prefer her power over mine."

She'd demonstrate without being asked too by shooting an Optic Blast from her left eye at a small rock. "Dude, that is awesome!" Adam told her.

Though that line of thought would go out the window when he and the others saw her eye began to bleed afterwards. "Oh dear, that's not good!" Cried out Harvey.

"No, its not." Murmured Jean to herself.

A worried Taryn spoke up next. "I was hoping Scott would have an answer about why the bleeding happens."

Jean looked at the worried woman for a moment. "Why do you think he'd know? His eyes have never bled to my knowledge when he's used his powers." She replied.

Taryn hesitated before speaking but it'd been Natsu who would answer. "Because, Grey Sama, he is my father."

"And ours, Red."

Jean's eyes widened at this news just as Scott was reaching the group and was surprised to see both Lee and Taryn. "Hey! Its our old man, guys! Hi, Pops!"

Megan groaned and covered her face to hide her embarrassment from her brother's antics as Scott was stunned by what he'd heard! "Uh-oh." Muttered Bobby as Jean spun around with a hint of the Phoenix surrounding her.

"Is there something you forgot to tell me!?"

"Uhh… I…" Stuttered out the man and huffing displeasedly, Jean spun back to the others.

"Come on, let's get you down to our medbay so we can check your eye. And… To run DNA tests to confirm things." She told the visitors through clenched teeth.

And seeing just how upset the woman was with that fiery glow surrounding her, no one was inclined to argue with her.

A Little While Later

After a thorough examination on Natsu's eyes by one Doctor Cecilia Reyes, current head of the Institute's medical facilities as DNA tests confirmed that Scott is in fact the father of the three kids much to his immense shock, the good Doctor was able to determine what was going on with young Natsu. "As best as I can tell, it appears that the heat produced by her ability is why bleeding occurs after use of her power. I can't say for certain but I think that may become less of a thing as you grow older and your body is able to adapt more to the usage of your power. I'd need Xi to confirm that to be absolutely certain."

"And do you know why my right eye is red then?" Wondered Natsu.

"A side effect of your gift and genetics as Scott himself has red eyes thanks to his powers." Answered the good Doctor.

"Oh, and that is why my left matches more my mother's?"

"Yep! I take it you hid your right under that patch so no one would bother you as much?"

Natsu merely nodded as her mother hugged her and asked a question. "Outside of a power suppressor… Is there anything that can be done to help with Natsu's eye?" She knew in addition to the bleeding, there was also pain that was caused and Taryn absolutely hated that.

Unfortunately, the good Doctor didn't have much of an answer for her. "But we can look into it. Maybe Scott himself could think up something."

"I will definitely do my best there." Spoke up a mostly quiet and concerned Scott.

Who was keeping his distance from Jean for the time being due to how unhappy she was about him never telling her of his times with Lee and Taryn. Or at least with Taryn given past history and all. Lee and her two kids were also currently on a tour of the school as well and the man had a feeling they were going to enroll in the end. Something he certainly hoped would happen in addition to Natsu as he wanted to get to know the kids he'd never known he'd had until now. Honestly though… I'd rather be dealing with the Neo again as that's easier than Jean's anger…

A scowl formed on his face as he thought of the Neo and in particular, Sinew. Someone he and everyone else had known for years and trusted with their lives. His betrayal was a hard pill to swallow though he wondered if it actually counted as betrayal when the man was never truly one of them to begin with since Sinew had been sent to infiltrate them. But what his brain knew versus what his heart knew and felt were two different things. "Can I enroll here, mother?" Natsu's tentative voice broke through Scott's thoughts and he'd look up to see his little girl looking earnestly at her mother.

"If it makes you happy… Then of course, sweetheart." Answered back Taryn somewhat sadly and would get a hug from her grateful daughter.

Feeling like she'd no longer be alone by doing this and wouldn't have to wear that patch anymore either unless she really just wanted too. And while Jean wasn't too thrilled with Scott, she none the less would be quite happy to accept the trio into the school. This would also allow her and Taryn to become friends again in addition to becoming friends with Lee even if it was a little weird at first given their connection with Scott.

The Bayville Crater

A lone figure hovered over the crater that once was Bayville, unseen thanks to her magics. This is the long lived Morgan Le Fay and she was there with a purpose. One that had ill intentions for others who'd long dared to stand in her way. Using her magics, she teleported down and knelt to the ground and murmured a spell after producing a bottle. Several minutes later would see a green colored binary like code come from the ground and into the bottle which was then sealed seconds later. Pleased, Le Fay stood up and looked at the contents within the bottle. Contents that were trying to escape to no avail. "Yes… You shall do well in mine quest for control of this realm, young Virus."

Letting out a dark laugh, Le Fay vanished seconds later to continue her recruitment efforts.

Author's Notes: Well, that was fun! So I know the lamented Kayla is NOT Pavel's mother in the comics but hey, that's okay. The fun of fanfic is to change things up a bit, same with Natsu from the recent Ultimate X-Men revival that I still haven't read yet and I'm basically just spit balling with her eye situation. Adam (X) being Scott's son instead of a brother in addition to Megan being Lee Forrester's daughter instead of Emma's is just another thing I thought would be a fun twist. Tho originally I had no plans where Megan's concerned but that ended up changing after I read up on her. And is it just me…

Or was it complete nonsense for how they justified Xavier's actions over the past few years so he could basically have a get out of jail free card?
