October 12th, Sports Festival.

It is a day when Hakuo Academy celebrate by separating the school body into two separate teams (Red and White) to compete against each other with various activities.

Chizuru is currently in the White Team, same team as her childhood friend Heisuke-kun, and some of her friends include Ibuki-kun, Saito-senpai & Yamazaki-senpai. In the opposing team, the Red Team, composes of her twin brother Kaoru along with Kazama-senpai, Okita-senpai, and the others. The teachers are the one who decides which person is in this team or that team, and they organized this whole event, encouraging team building and self-development.

They, at first, were troubled how to make Chizuru participate in such event that is mainly dominated by male students, especially Chizuru herself was, well, not really that athletic. The organizers wanted to make sure every student participates in the Sports Festival. In the end, she participated with Ibuki-kun on the three-legged race. They didn't win, but it is a lot fun, Chizuru thinks. She also watched as an audience aside from participating, cheering for the White Team.

Currently, the event held where in everybody gathers and participates (aside from the opening ceremony) is the Borrowing Race. The participants are chosen randomly by lottery, so everybody has a chance on doing it. Once getting chosen, the participant will draw from a box full of papers. Each paper describes something that the participant had to bring, either if it is a person or an object. Not only it is a race but also the jury, that is composed of the school staffs, will announce the contents of the paper and decide if the person or object the participant brought fits on the description. Then the team will get points based on placement. It is a fun icebreaker, not only either of the team getting points from it but also everyone will have fun in this event.

As waiting for the event to start, Chizuru, sitting on the ground donning her P.E. uniform and a white sash on her forehead, waiting for Heisuke-kun to arrive. Usually, she hangs out with both Heisuke-kun and Okita-senpai, but Okita-senpai is in the Red Team now with his other teammates (With Okita-senpai's annoyance).

"Sorry for the wait, Chizuru." Heisuke-kun said while running towards her. "Here, I filled your water bottle."

"Thank you, Heisuke-kun."

"So this event, borrowing race, isn't it?" Heisuke-kun sits on the ground besides Chizuru. "Which do you think is harder, Chizuru? Finding an object or a person?."

Chizuru thinks and says "Person, I think, is quite difficult. Objects are non-living things so I can bring them with ease. With person, you have to convince them to come, plus it is hard if they are from the other team… But it depends on what is on the paper drawn of how easy or hard it is."

"Yeah, you're right. If the paper says something like "Karuta cards" when there is no Karuta Club present in our school, it is very impossible to win."

"Yes." Chizuru sips into her water.

"Borrowing Race will be starting shortly, please settle down." a senpai from the broadcasting club was the emcee for the event.

The emcee shortly after explains the rules of the Borrowing Race and then proceeds to draw from the lottery box.

"From the White Team, Yukimura Chizuru of 1-1!"

Ah! She got called!

"Good luck Chizuru!" her teammates from the White Team cheers for her. "I'll try my best everyone!" Chizuru responds.

Chizuru proceeds to the line along with other participants. Around three from the White Team (including her) and another three from the adversary team. Chizuru felt many eyes on her as the only female student in the whole school body, lest becoming a participant for this race.

She hoped the paper she will draw will not be complicated.

Chizuru and the other participants get ready on their positions before the line.

"Ready, get set, go!"

They all run. Towards the drawing box.

Chizuru quite came in last arriving there.

Chizuru draws from the box and looks at the paper she got.

…

This description… It's got to be him!
But will he come to her even when he is in from the Red Team? The other team?
Even if she tries to think of someone from her team that will fit the description, she can't think of anyone else other than him.
Chizuru runs to the direction towards the Red Team.

"Oh? Yukimura from the White Team is finding someone from the Red Team?" the emcee is sportscasting the event, telling the intriguing happenings of the race.

Once Chizuru is on the place with the Red Team, Chizuru hurriedly finds the person fits the description from the slip of paper she holds. She looks and looks with the sea of heads with red sashes on their foreheads.

Finally! She founds that person in mind.

"Okita-senpai! Please accompany me!" Chizuru bows in front of him and reaches her hands towards him.

She heard whispers from the people around Okita-senpai.

"Yukimura, asking Souji-kun to help?"
"Even on the other team?"
"Don't listen to her, Okita! Don't let her win!"

Okita-senpai began to speak.

"Heh? Me, Chizuru-chan? We both know that I'm from a rivaling team, don't you?"

"Please, Okita-senpai! I think only you describes the best from this paper! Only you, Senpai!" Chizuru is still bowing.

She cannot see Okita-senpai's reaction but she felt him staring for a couple of seconds.

…

Okita-senpai then begun to speak "I'm sorry guys, but I'm going with her." He says as he reached his hand at her and sprints forward.
"Okita-senpai…" Chizuru stares at him. She felt the warmth in her hand with his hand.

"We will talk later after this race." Okita-senpai answers her back.

Chizuru hears the words of the Red Team like "Souji, you betrayer!". Even she herself didn't expect for him to comply especially from the team she was against and thought she will embarrassed herself in front of the other team.

Luckily, their rendezvous with Heisuke-kun when getting late from school helps a lot. One time when they are late for school, running, Okita-senpai holds her hand and they both sprints towards the school before the school bell rings.

It is no different for this Borrowing Race, this time with both Okita-senpai and her from different teams rivaling against each other, now together holding hands as they run through the finish line first.

"In first place, we have Yukimura from the White Team who brings with her no other than Okita Souji of 2-1 from the Red Team! Of course it is not counted unless the jury agrees to. Please give me your paper, Yukimura."

Ah! She almost forgot that this will be announced publicly! She reluctantly gives the paper to the emcee and puts her head down.

Souji meanwhile is curious to what the paper describes and why it is him only that she thinks so. At first, he will not take this Borrowing Race seriously as like as the other events he participated (some, he showed up like Kendo, but he fails to show up in boring ones), but the look at Chizuru-chan's pleading face entices him and he ends up betraying his team in favor of letting Chizuru-chan win. Even so he is curious especially her head is down and flushing with embarrassment and possibly from running. He will remind her to drink water after this.

As the emcee unfolds the paper…

"So… The paper describes…"

"Pffftt… hahahaha! Chizuru-chan is worked-up all for that?" Souji laughs and looks down at Chizuru.

The jury, of course, scores three out of three, making Chizuru officially first place on this round of Borrowing Race.

"Any other words, comments or reaction after you we're chosen, Okita-kun?" emcee asked as he gives the microphone to Souji.

Souji put his hand on Chizuru's head and ruffles it and said "Well, I'm honored that I've been chosen as Chizuru-chan's bully. I will do even better at teasing her after this."

The crowd cheers.

The Sport Festival continues.
